(00:00):
Hello everyone, Welcome back for anotherpodcast. So in today's podcast, I'm
gonna be discussing a little bit aboutme Nicholson Bench. This is me told
Bench. I'm gonna be going througha few likes, a few dislikes.
(00:21):
I'm probably gonna explain and show howI've been using it of late. So
ironically, I have pretty much forthe last two days been on the Roman
work bench. I have actually beenbuilding a small table. This is gonna
(00:42):
be a bedside table, so Ihave kind of been building this thing here.
I have actually released a couple ofvideos, probably since the last time
I've done a podcast, so foranyone that hasn't seen them, I did
start a build obviously finished it ona little side table that was a two
(01:07):
parter, So both of those videosare released a game for anyone that hasn't
visited mitannel on YouTube in some time. Have also started doing a vlog.
I think I'm up the flog Free. I think that's just a nice short
format sort of thing. I'm tryingto keep them like really short, you
(01:30):
know, not a great deal ofediting. Well I'm trying not to go
anywhere, but I quite enjoyed doingthe vlogs. Basically it's just like a
bit of an update of what I'mdoing pretty much. So this Nicholson bench
or an English word bench, whateveryou want to call it, the very
similar there is. There is differentvariations of these. There is some of
(01:55):
them that do tend to have Brason'sthat come through the leg in attached to
the apron. Sometimes these will goto the front as well on the two
legs, like a bit of abit of a dog leg in scaffold.
In terms of your will, SoI built this. This was in the
(02:15):
old shed, which wasn't very spacylike this one. This is still very
small, but it's pretty spacey tome compared to what I'm used to.
So sadly that lay in the cornerand it just got covered and junk and
whatever else it and it didn't getused. It's and it didn't get finished
(02:37):
off, and it's it's still notfinished off. I mean even even this
edge now, I can't feel thisedge. This is like rough, so
I can't say it's it's just roughsow. And this was probably most likely
sown with my rayoba, so oneof me ryoba sos. Probably you know,
I should really get it finished, but I have been using it.
(03:00):
This has pretty much been my primarybench, apart from the last couple of
days when obviously I've been using Romanwork bench. I'm always going to have
a room and where bench room andwhere benches are cool. Just right behind
you is actually set up into thethe shave horse position. Obviously I've been
(03:22):
making them legs today, So thisis a pretty good bench. It's these
are really easy to build, thevery forgiven. I am glad I built
it, but I have got somegrapes with it. The grapes I've got
(03:43):
with it is probably more to dowith the fact that I was using a
room and work bench and then Itransitioned into using my shave horse work bench,
which also kind of give full accessto the young side, where obviously
on the Roman work bench you can'tdo that because you've got the the apron.
(04:08):
So I'm kind of I'm not likingthat about it. The same same
again, going back to that isbecause I've been so used to being able
to clam things out the side, what I'm finding i'm doing I'm finding I'm
really trying to, you know, clam things at the top, which which
(04:31):
obviously I can't do. But forme, I think personally it would have
been better if I could have gotthings clamped out the side. So I'm
thinking maybe a little bit later downthe road. I mean, all this
bench, I'm gonna have to say. I think what I could do possibly
(04:54):
would be to take one of theaprons off. I'm not sure if I
can like to do that. Unfortunately, I have cut into the leg.
So one of the way. Oneof the way these work benches actually work.
Basically they're actually housed, or atleast this one's housed on the inside,
(05:17):
so it's housed. So we've basicallygot two sections of ingrain that are
made in contact with the leg andalso the legs sitting on top of it's
actually not now there is actually quitea bit of a cup there legs,
so that's obviously shrinkage that's happened, wood movement that's happened there just for the
(05:41):
seasons. So basically, the theen grain that's hitting the leg this way
actually it helps it helps the workbenchto stop racking. So, as I
said before, there is actually bencheswhere it will have like a diagonal brace
from the apron going down to theleg. And obviously this is just that's
(06:05):
gonna be like super you know, steady. I mean, this hasn't to
be honest, this hasn't had aI haven't had any issues with this bench.
It is. It is pretty steadyin that sense, rack and wise,
but then again, I haven't reallydone a great deal of of playing
(06:27):
in where the playing and force isgoing forward. Obviously I've done a bit,
but not to the extent you knowthat it's you know, it's had
a really good work in that sense. One of the things I don't like
about this bench is the width ofthe bench. The width is absolutely awesome.
So the width is just shy.It two foot. Actually, I've
always a bit bigger than that.I don't know why. I had free
(06:49):
foot in my head for some reason. I don't know why, but you
know, it's actually it's it's twofoot in a quarter inch. But that's
quite a lot for me, youknow, when I'm coming from you know,
I think the Roman work bench behindis about thirteen inches in width,
(07:09):
and I think the sawhorse workbench, the main top that was only I think
I was about fifteen inches. ObviouslyI did have the ply shelf at the
back that could be removable, soon and so forth, but it wasn't
kind of usable in the same waythat this is usable obviously, you know.
(07:32):
It's it's like it's a full twofoot length, which is really cool.
The length of it. Again,I really like the length. The
length is six foot. If Ihad a bigger shed or a bigger workspace,
I would most lightly have something alot longer. You know. I
(07:56):
don't know if if you're a familiarwith the Motors and Tenant magazine in those
those two guys in America, somewherein America they have a like a really
long work bench. It's like superlong, you know, and you can
understand, you know why why they'vegot something so long. Obviously they've got
(08:18):
the space to do that, andthat's absolutely awesome. It just opens up
a lot of possibilities. Plus you'reyou're going to be able to have multiple
setups on the bench, which isquite cool. You know. If you
if you're making furniture, you canhave like a kind of dedicated stations.
You know, some people will havelike a dedicated like sharpening station. That's
(08:43):
let's just say it. And howeasy and convenient it is to have a
to have a you know, sharpeningstation. You might do the same sort
of thing on the bench, butobviously rather than the sharpening station, you
might have a dedicated space where you'rei don't know, like a like a
shooting board and portion, you know, where you're just you're playing an angring.
(09:05):
You might just have it set upthere. You may have a couple
of benches. Sorry, you mayhave a couple of vices scattered along the
along the bench. Again, reallyreally cool. But for all intents purposes,
this is really really cool. Ilike, I like it's how it
(09:26):
is. You know, it islong enough. So another thing that I
do like about this is that theeight ron on the legs or flush.
So I've never had cause for ityet, but this would be really cool
if I want to clamp something tothe legs. Again, like I said,
(09:46):
I haven't had cause for it.Maybe if I was doing I don't
know, maybe a dovetail blanket chestand I was cutting the dovetails, you
know, yeah high, which Iprobably wouldn't do because I at the end
of the bench, because I'll that'show I like to cut dove tails now
with me japmanly so, but ifI fancied a change and I was gonna
do it, you know, standingup, I could really clamp the clamb
(10:11):
the board to the leg and obviouslyto the to the sides of the apron.
I have actually been using the apronto clam things too, but it's
it has like it's only been thefirst Like what foot past the legs?
(10:33):
I have actually got what's up?Yeah, so that's like thirteen inches.
I've got thirteen inches from the edgeof the bench itself to where the front
of the leg is. Obviously it'sit's symmetrical both sides. I did actually
build it like that. So oneof the reasons I did build it like
that, if memory serves is right, is that I did actually want to
(10:56):
put some sort of a drawn there. As far as I'm aware, this
is kind of like a Past Sellersthing. Paul Salas has draws, which
in essence is pretty cool. It'sa good idea. But for me,
because I'm using whole Fast, Idon't believe Paul use hold fast. I
haven't really seen him use them.He may, he's most likely own some
(11:20):
hole fast, but I don't seehim using hole fasts. So obviously,
because I'm using whole Fast, I'musing primarily at the moment, I'm using
pretty much the maybe the first halfof the bench, you know, and
I'm using I'm using whole fasts primarily, like the first see a quarter out
(11:43):
of the bench. That's let's justsay, I've only got like, how
many holes have I got in this? We've got four, five, six,
I've only got six like dog holesin the hole entire bench. I
did want to put some more in, obviously, I want to put some
in the air run, but atthe same time I didn't want to go
like gung ho with it. Imean, I put these four in the
(12:11):
four in the line, and Ifeel I feel that they're kind of not
in the right place, you know, when I've when I've been kind of
working with it, I feel thesethese roles that are that are running down
the length to about half halfway point, they should have been more kind of
(12:33):
too to the edge. So Imean from the edge there, what are
these These are like five inches fromthe edge of the bench to where where
the center of the hole is andof our space is out of space these
ten inches. I've also done onea bit closer to where the ginas.
(12:58):
So I have got like like likea bit of a gap year on the
on the center piece. This isthis isn't a one like a one piece
top. It's it's a split top, which I prefer, and I think
it's it's kind of a must becauseyou're on the risk of splitting the top
(13:20):
if you don't do this, especiallywith with the way the legs are constructed.
The legs are constructed, how theseconstructed had to look there. You
know, I was going to say, what it's intelligoyed, but they're not.
Most these are dovetailed half laps,so you can kind of say at
(13:41):
the bottom pretty much just where thewheels are attached to the legs themselves,
that's like a dovetail the half flapjoints, and it is the same at
the top. These are just gluedand nailed in. I haven't had an
(14:05):
issue with it. The joints stillseem really really tight, obviously that's what
you want. While I'm down here, you can actually see the boats.
These are just butterfly boats holding theaprons obviously to the legs, and you
(14:30):
can actually see the housing joint shreand if we looked down the other side,
you can actually or you should beable to see them a couple of
bolts or a couple of live boltsrather that are fixing the top rail to
the two sections of the bench. One thing I did forget to mention before
(14:54):
when I was showing you the sizeof everything. It's basically the height of
this. So there's a lot ofcontroversy about the height of work benches and
Nicholson benches, Roman word benches. It's the age old sort of thing.
So for me, if we ifI'm standing next to the bench, ll
(15:22):
so where where it is? Howto describe this? So kind of may
the middle of my hip joint isabout three inches higher than the bench,
if that makes sense, So kindof kind of standing like like straight onto
(15:45):
it, leaning onto it. It'skind of right at the top of me
fies. So it's obviously it's notlike it's not mid fi it's you know,
there's a very small portion of meof me five remaining kind of goes
goes into the crease of my hipsat the top, and that that would
(16:06):
be like the kind of the frontof your hips. So you could argue
that this was too low. Iwould argue that's a nice overall height for
everything. So kind of just toshow you what I mean, if we
if we were going to playing onthis bench, it's a nice height,
(16:33):
I'm still able. I'm still ableto get some welly behind you know,
you know, behind the plane. You know, if I'm playing in something
tough, like a prime example, playing and playing in the beach steam beach
water nightmare, that was to playingan absolute nightmare. I didn't actually have
to give that some WILLI, youknow, to to get it done.
(16:59):
In my defense, all my allmy planes were shortened as well, and
I don't know how with the sharpand the plane, but I did still.
You know, it was really reallyhard material. Beaches hard material.
It's probably one of the hardest materialsI personally have worked with. So if
you can't imagine that this bench wasa little bit taller, let's let's just
(17:23):
say, you know, let's justsee a mid mid toe. So so
if this bench was mid toe,so I'm not I'm not gonna be able
to get as much weight on it. The thing with this is that I
can use my leg muscles, butI'm also able to to use me the
(17:45):
weight of me, that the tophalf of me, I body, the
weight of it, and I'm actuallyable to use that weight and obviously get
momentum from my legs to move thatforward. So obviously the higher you higher
you go with a bench, you'regoing to lose the ability to use the
(18:06):
weight of your top portion of yourbody. Having said that, if you
bring the bench higher in your dovetailing, it's going to be a dream.
So you know, you could youcould argue again that you know it should
it should be toller. But sameagain for me, it's a good round
(18:30):
that I'll do everything on this.I'll put dove tails on this. The
thing with me when I'm actually cuttingdove tails on this bench, what I
found myself doing is actually kneeling downI get I normally get myself like a
rubber mats. I think it's aGordon and Matt something like that, and
I just find myself kneeling on itwith me ryoba. So in cutting the
(18:55):
dove tails like so, you know, which works out really well for me
because I'm as blind as a bat, so it basically means I'm able to
get my eyes quite close to theworkpiece. So in that sense it does
work out really well for us.Not so great on me on me NAIs
and me back mind you but youknow, it's it does work out that
(19:18):
way for us. What I coulddo possibly I could get something, you
know, on top of the bench. I mean kind of looking at it
now. I'm obviously looking at thecamera now, but behind the camera is
me Roman work bench, and it'sjust popping in my brain there looking at
it. If I was to getthe Roman work bench on top of this
(19:38):
bench, you know, get acouple of clamps on it, that would
actually be a really nice high forme to actually stand and cut dovetails on.
It might be something I might tryout in the future. I'll have
to try and remember that one.So when I built this bench, it
(19:59):
was just the basic bench. Ithad the obviously the two aprons, the
top, and the legs. Itdidn't have an under shelf. The under
shelf was added later, and thereason I added the under shelf was obviously
to give us a bit more storage, but at the same time I wanted
to give it a little bit moreweight. One of the issues that I
(20:22):
have with this is that there's noneenough weight in it. So just to
try and give you a bit ofa demonstration, I'm hoping the camera is
going to pick this up. ButI'm picking this up and I'm even trying.
Obviously it has got tools underneath it. It has it has got a
(20:47):
power tools undern if not not agreat deal, but there is. Obviously
there is a little bit of weightthere, one of one of the one
of the other good things in it'sin. It's also a bit of a
hindrance at the moment or the wheels. So when I got the wheels,
they come with templates. I followedthe instructions use the templates. Personally,
(21:15):
I feel that the wheels should havebeen up a little bit more so.
Sometimes what can happen is that ifyou actually move the bench, which I'm
doing so now for those of youthat are listening, and I'm actually moving
it quite easily. So sometimes whenI do with that, what what can
(21:40):
happen is that the wheels, thewheels of the sideways, they can actually
get stuck in and help to liftthe bench, which is really annoying.
So the good it's good in agood in a sense because it gives us
that freedom. Sometimes I like tohave the bench against the wall of the
(22:06):
shed where the window is. ObviouslyI'm getting natural light coming through the window,
which obviously helps us with my eyesbecause my eyes are really bad.
Natural light is always going to bebetter than any sort of artificial light in
my experience anywhere to help you say, you know your pencil lines and such.
I find that to be true.So it is nice when I'm marking
(22:30):
out to have the bench next tothe window, but when I'm using maybe
the saw me this big fella.Obviously, what I've been doing, I've
been keeping the workpiece here. I'vehad to usually put put a peg in
the first hole, and obviously I'mjust I'm just amusing this. So so
(22:57):
I've primarily been used in the sawto cut things to length as much as
possible. That's pretty much just toget as familiar with this sort to you
know, pretty much how to putit. I'm basically learning how to how
to use this, so I amobviously getting a lot better the thing with
(23:19):
it as well. I'm kind ofyour en off topic a little bit here,
but it's really really quick when youlearn how to use it. You
can actually cut material very quickly withthis, which is always good. But
one of one of the things aboutit is every time I want to use
(23:40):
it, I've actually got to bringthe bench out I mean, so unless
I'm marking out, I do actuallytry to keep the bench like pretty much
how it's situated out the moment, which you know, it's about maybe toning
a hard foot away from the wallso that gives us access all the way
around this bench, so you know, I can actually plan from this side,
(24:04):
the right side if I'm using maybeme Japanese canan, and obviously I
can't go around to the left sideof the bench if I'm just using dress
me traditional Western planes, so Idon't I don't find myself kind of moving
all the way around, moving allthe way around the bench. You know,
(24:29):
I don't tend to stick to thisside. I don't know. If
I pull the whole bench a littlebit more forward, I don't know if
I would be, you know, like kind of using that like that end
of the bench. I don't know, I really, I really don't know.
So how I've been using this benchsum years probably would have seen me
(24:52):
using this bench. If you followerson social media on Instagram or Facebook,
I do tend to pose a lotof reels like video footage of of whatever
I'm doing, and some people don'tpick up on the techniques that I'm using
all the ways I'm doing stuff. So what's been me friend of late all
(25:15):
these rubot mats. So these robotmats, these are i think the souldiers
kind of like like under mats, like non under matt non slip mats,
if that makes sense. So they'rereally good. So if you've got wood
(25:37):
in your sandwich, in your sandwich, the map between the wooden worktop and
your in your work piece, youyou will get like a lot of friction.
So, as I said, thishas actually been my friends. So
I've actually been putting this this squaredog into the whole at the end,
(26:00):
so it's it's obviously it's a realdedpeg, but I've left the end square.
So this is really nice when you'recutting kind of joints. So there's
quite a few. There is quitea few reels of myself, you know,
doing like single dovetails and you know, square tenants things like that.
(26:26):
But the thing I like about thisis that it's what once you've got it
in place, you're using your handthe clammet, and you know it's as
easy as that. You could kindof say I was like transitioning, or
(26:48):
at least somebody did actually say thatI was kind of taking some of me
work practices from the Roman word benchto the Toll work bench. And I
suppose you would say, I am, but that's super easy. I've had,
like I've had quite a few peoplelaugh at us about that, but
it's it's so it's just it's soeasy. You know, sometimes when you
(27:15):
when you when you're you're handling thingsand you may need you may need to
pick that up multiple times. Thisis perfect. It's like there's no your
hand, Your hand is the clamp. So that's that's how I've been using
it a lot. Another way whatI have been doing is using these little
(27:41):
these little dogs. These are likea verticles. I think these are vertless
pups. Obviously the vertless dogs area bit longer. So I've had these
for years, a lot of yearsnow. I bought these for the Roman
work bench, and obviously any benchthat I've got what I'm using, if
(28:02):
I need them there, I've onlygot the two of them, will probably
be beneficial to get a couple moremost likely. Yeah. But another thing
that I have been doing is thatI may have, you know, like
a bit that i'm cutting for youknow, maybe a bit I'm cutting to
length, so same again, you'rejust mate in contact with the two the
(28:30):
two let's see, the two ofthem are pegs. You're just applying it
before pressure. And then if I'musing you know the big, the big,
so I can't do that, orif I'm using the ruba, so
same thing again. Once the pressureis in. You know, obviously I've
got the mart they as well inthe match. The match like being a
(28:52):
real, real big help. Sowhen I'm when I'm playing and I am
usually just going to the left sideof the bench and I'm using one of
those bench pups and a mat andthat's it. That's that's my playing instead
(29:15):
up that is me playing and stopso because because I'm using the mats,
the workpiece doesn't want to want toglide like left to right. So if
you're not using a mat, it'sit's so easy for the slide. But
as I said, the mats hasit's been absolutely awesome. So I use
(29:41):
these for absolutely everything. I've beenpraising these mats up for such a long
time. So another thing that Idid do when was it and when I
was when I was making the sidetable, I did have to actually resource
some resource some beach. I hadto resource some beach. So obviously I
(30:04):
haven't got advice on this bench,and I'll be pretty honestly, I don't
really think I'm going to put adviceon it. So same again, I
used, I used the mat andwhat I've done actually done it on on
the right side of the bench. But just obviously i'm film and now,
(30:26):
so basically I got the same againthe robot mats. Put the robot mats
over the edge, and I useda few plants. So one of the
one of the good things about thesethese types of mats is that they get
(30:51):
they gives, so they give somuch more. They gives so much more
grip to the to the workpiece. It's absolutely unreal. So one of the
problems when you're actually using when you'reusing tools all the other or a saw
(31:14):
in this sort of fashion, mostof you that have that have done this
sort of thing will know that theworkpiece actually wants wants to move in the
way the forces going. So ifI was to use so running this way,
it would be all right. Therewould probably be a little bit of
vibration because it is quite you know, away from the bench, but it
(31:38):
would be fine. In the sensethat it wouldn't move in the clams.
So if I was using a sawand I was cutting along the length of
the on the length the plane, should we see the plane of the bench,
the length plane of the bench ofour sow, and in NAT's orientation,
(32:02):
this would want to pivot. Sowhat this does. This actually,
this matt helps to prevent that,so you know, so that's that's pretty
much how how I would do it. I would be standing at the end
of the bench and I would justbe sowing like so. So with with
(32:27):
the with the mats and obviously thepressure from the clams, it didn't move.
It's absolutely awesome. So I meanwith that mhm, that's kind of
one of the that's kind of oneof the reasons that I that I fought
myself. I'm not going to adda advice to this bench. So if
(32:51):
I get given advice from someone ormaybe a company wants wants to sponsor and
give us advice and I think it'sa decent vice, yeah, I'll put
it on. But I really don'tthink I'll be you know, paying out
my own potter to put advice on. I really don't think this this needs
advice in my personal opinion, ofcourse. So some of the things I
(33:15):
would like to do with this benchwhile I get round and doing them is
another question. But what I wouldlike to do most lightly, as I
said, I may do in thefuture if I if I have I get
round, I would like to utilizethe under side of the bench a little
(33:37):
a little bit more, maybe aat another shelf, and add some doors,
add some sides to it as well, you know, to keep things
under lock and key. Obviously whenI go away for work, because I'm
away from home, it would benice just a lot a few things away.
(33:57):
I mean, don't get wrong. If if the and they'll get in,
but they're gonna have to make alot of noise, which hopefully is
gonna alert the earbas hopefully. Butas well as that, it's actually gonna
start adding more weight. So obviouslythe more weight it's going to stop.
It's going to stop this from frommoving so much, which as I said,
(34:22):
it can be a little bit annoying. I could possibly put some sort
of you know, some sort ofmaterial on the very soul of the the
legs. I have actually got somecrubber. I think it's called crubber.
I think I've got some crubber left, and that's just basically a mixture of
(34:45):
rubber and cork or somewhere. It'ssomething like that anyway, But that's that
does quite a good job, youknow, to cause friction, so I
might that on. Another thing Iwould like to do is to lift those
(35:07):
lift those wheels up a little bitmore. The only issue I have is
that there's already holes. There's likefour holes where the screws already are,
so lifting it, I'm going tobe so close to the other holes.
I mean, I could double them, but it's still might weaken it a
little bit unless I can move themto the left or to the right maybe,
(35:29):
So the only need to come upjust I don't know, maybe maybe
a quarter of an inch of that, but it would make a big difference,
I personally feel. Another thing Iwould like to do, and I
probably should have had it done bynow, is to actually add a beam
or a section of wood across thetwo wheels, you know, put them
(35:55):
across the two wheels, get thembolted in the position. And obviously the
reason for this is that I cannormally access free wheels, but there's always
a four wheel that I can't access. So obviously I can get this wheel
(36:15):
lifted up like so obviously the oneat the back, but it is a
little bit worder to get to.Obviously I can get to this wheel,
but I kind of I can't getto the four wheel. So that's that's
one of the issues with this.So if I had a beam going,
you know, linking the two together, I should be able to get the
(36:37):
two of them. That's that's kindof really starting to get like starting a
great honus. Obviously not enough tomake it, but I think that's that's
on me to do list. Iam kind of going to get that sorted
out. One of the other thingsI would like to do, and same
(37:00):
again, this is just because I'vebeen a bit lazy. I would actually
like to get some holes drilled intothe side of the aprons. And this
this is more for me, thekind of experiment with hope, like you
know, holding work pieces and such. For those of you that are interested,
(37:22):
I think the cost of this benchwas on our one hundred pound given
that was that was a few yearsago, and I think you probably might
be paying kind of maybe one hundredpounds plus for this material. So this
(37:45):
material and what I used. Thelongest in width I could get was nine
by two construction timber So, asI said earlier on in the podcast,
one of the issues with using thissort of material, I think, like
this is kind of this is likea type of pain, you know,
(38:07):
it's I think it's you know,European redwoods, something like that. The
issue with it is is that there'snot a lot of weight to it.
Obviously the is weight, but it'snot enough that when you apply your great
deal of force you will actually moveit. I'm not even sure the weight
(38:31):
of it, to be honest withyou, but I think, I think
what a lot of people feel tounderstand is that the human body, it's
it's a it's an how to putit. The human body is capable of
great feats of strength. You knowwhere you've where you've kind of where as
(38:55):
human beings have evolved, you know, like move move things. I mean,
you know some of the some ofthe things a man can a man,
just the average man. Some ofthe things the average man can do
once she gets once she gets theknowledge of a bit leverage and so on
and so forth. And sometimes whenyou're doing actions on this on this bench,
(39:22):
all the types of benches. You'reall using some of those methods,
so there is a lot of thereis a lot of force that gets put
onto these benches, you know, and they can't move, the will move,
So that's kind of one of theissues. If if money, if
(39:43):
money wasn't an issue, you couldactually build something like this out of beach,
or or maybe even if you evenif you made the leg portion out
of beach, it would add alot of weight, a lot of wet
(40:04):
See him again, just behind thecamera, there's a shelving unit and there's
there's quite a bit of beach onit. The beaches two inches in thickness,
and and it ranges it it's anywherefrom three to five inches in width.
And how heavy is that? Man? I could not believe it,
(40:24):
you know when I obviously I boughtthis off a guy just down the road
in South Shields. I bought itfrom him, and I couldn't believe the
weight of it when I was whenI was putting it into the back of
the van. Honestly, it's it'sa ton weight and you know, getting
it out of the van and bringingit and bringing it from like the front
(40:47):
street and into the back garden andputting it like like putting it away basically
super super heavy. So I thinkthat would be really I think that would
be a really good choice, evenif you were just to do the legs,
(41:07):
if you plan on doing a lotof planing, and it might be
a good idea to put you know, some sort of some sort of brace
from the air and to the legAnd there's lots of examples of this on
the on the internet and YouTube andsuch. So what kind of benches have
you guys got I'd like to I'dlike to hear in the comments. Have
(41:30):
you got these stales of benches?Have you got rebel? You know,
the Rebel looked quite good from whatI understand, the quite a heavy bench,
which is quite good. Have yougot Roman work benches? What do
you guys work off? I'd liketo hear in the comments. I think
I want to wrap it up thedear guys, So until the next time,
(41:52):
I shall say, inspt you guyslater.
