The Southern Regional Assembly work to promote sustainable development and regional co-operation across the southern region.
Upon review of the National Development Plan which provides funding in line with the National Planning Framework to create Project Ireland 2040, the Assembly concluded that there was a compelling imbalance in the planned investment in infrastructure across Ireland.
Executive Planner with the Southern Regional Assembly Kevin Twomey joined Damien on 'Déise Today' yesterday (Monday) to speak about their significant concern with the low infrastructure investment plan for the southern region of Ireland.
Kevin spoke about the disparity in investment between the southern region and the eastern and midland regions of Ireland, and the worrying position of Ireland's southern region being in the bottom 15% of 234 regions across the EU.
