The mother of an eight-year-old girl who was murdered by her former partner has called for the laws to be changed, so that killers get whole life sentences.
35-year-old Mohammad Al Shaker Al Tamimi, of Lower William Street, New Ross, Co Wexford, was jailed for life after pleading guilty to the murder of his daughter, Malika Noor Al Kattib.
Tamimi was charged with the murder of the child as well as the attempted murder of her mother, Aisha Al Katib.
This morning (Friday) on 'Deise Today', Aisha Al Katib was live in studio to talk to Damien about her story, Malika and Aisha's compaign now for whole life sentences.
Aisha was joined in studio for the chat by her friend Davina who has been a huge support to her since the events of December 2024.
