Speaker 1 (01:09):
Recording this on a Thursday at about five o'clock ish
PM for the Friday show, How you guys doing? I
like to keep this the Friday episodes typically as close
to times to sentim as possible. We'll be dropping this
like pretty much Friday morning, probably at nine am or midnight.
(01:29):
I don't know exactly what time I'm gonna drop it,
but how you guys doing it is the Friday show.
Of course, here on the podcast, A lots to talk
about tearing the podcast, for example, and the main thing
we'll talk about here is a you know, I know
I've been avoiding politics talk in the last couple of
like almost a year now, but Kamala Harris has a
new book that's just come out, and some excerpts in
(01:49):
there I really wanted to actually talk about on the
show today. But that of course, why am I exply
about NBA this coming up? The NBA season hasn't started yet.
I know they had media Day. I think the media day,
I think two days ago. But I'm not excited about
the season. Of course, the profoball Hall of Fame nominees
I've been released for the twenty twenty six class potential class.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Actually run through some of the names that they that
came out with.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
But I gotta tell you man, on a personal level,
you know, I've been dedicated to you know, you guys
have followed the last last last couple months.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
I've been keeping a.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Consistent schedule of dropping content on the feed Monday through
Friday drumming shows. Sometimes there'll be days you'll see double
double dull pods that day. And I'm trying to trying
to do this where I'm consistent putting out content between
Monday and Friday.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
I gotta tell you though, it is not easy. Though.
It's not easy because you're.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Working on a schedule where yes, I have I do
have more space I never had since becoming a dad.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
You know, I do have space to.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
To to record and a lot of shows I do prerecord,
you know, which is I've utilized that now even more
than I ever have really in my life. But it's
not easy mentally to also because sometimes, you you know,
there just days I just don't want to record. But
people listen to content, people enjoy the content, and I've
been staying consistent as possible. A quick announcement here, we're
(03:13):
starting a new series on the show. It may be
it maysically be a regular thing going forward that I
dubbed EJ Loves the Internet. It's gonna be a show
I do every Monday that I basically talk about things
that I saw on your net. Things I saw which
could be a video, it could be a meme, it
could be something I read and something react to. It's
(03:35):
it's kind of like sort of like a B side
in a sense though, because you know, yes, we do
react to things on you know that we see in
the current events on this show, if we do that today,
for example. But I can't react to everything, you know,
so this will allow me a space to find little
things I can react to in and it doesn't require
a deep dive either, you know what I'm saying. But
(03:56):
uh I actually I ready recorded the first episode but
you won't see it's a Monday.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
But I had a good time doing it.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
I want I actually wanted to do this with a
co host, but I started realizing that it might be
difficult to get somebody to commit to doing it every week.
And quite frankly, I already have you know, Rob doing
falls count anywhere. You know, you just degenerate, you got
the random guests come to the show. You know, want
to have the NBA show at some point later later
in a season. But Gregarinya, so we have where you
(04:26):
have things in place now. I do love where.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
The show is going. I do love the show where
it's going. But in the.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Schedule has helped me because there's a scheduling part of
it where I record these shows and hoping they're ever
green enough to put them out, and I have secing
days to put them out. You know, in a lot
of ways it does help me because, for example, with
the schedule I have right now currently, right now we're
record I pretty much have about four days off of recording.
(04:58):
Think about it. I record most of my on Tuesdays, Wednesdays,
and Thursdays. Occasionally on the weekends, I will use the weekend.
I try to avoid it because I like to use
the weekends for my family footballs back too, especially i'm
I'm locked on there. I'll keep space for the emergency podcast,
maybe a reaction podcast to a w w p l
E or a big event. I'll do a live stream.
(05:18):
I started doing live streaming on Sundays during the four
o'clock sessions on here, so I am pretty active and
I try to keep that. I try to keep it,
uh uh, you know, as simple as possible. But when
you're recording all of your shows on Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays,
you're crediting a lot of material into a few days.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Now it is easy.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
I mean it looks easy when when you put it
in context in schedule. But again, there are some days
where I just don't want to get a record, Like
today I recorded the I just recorded the first episode
of the Internet and I had to stop all the
show to go pick up my kids and then came
back finished to finish the episode, and.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Be honestly, I was tired. I didn't want to do it.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
I took a nap and after that I was like, Okay,
I feel good now and still and I still have
to come in here and also do this this show too.
Also because again this is the main show. This has
to be every Friday.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
It's out.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
I can't record on Fridays because I'm typically working on
my day job. So that's why you know I do
it when I do it, because you we're doing all
this around a work schedule, spend time with my wife,
my kids, and then let's be real. I love podcasting,
I really do, but I don't want to be behind
a fucking microphone all day long.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
You know what I'm saying. Every day? You know, I
want to be out, to be able to go.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Have dinner with friends and go to the gym, which
I did today, worked out today, went that nice to
my walk, you know, do things that outside of that
and keep up a nice balance. So I haven't so
and as lost, I stay in the pocket and those things,
I'll be okay, you know what I mean. So, but
uh yeah, is it challenging, Yes, I'm enjoying it.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
Yes. Also so anyway, speaking of it in the NBA
I mentioned a while ago, I'm.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
Not you know, NBA's my favorite league, you know, but
I am not excited about the season coming up. I
know he's had a media day like yesterday, two days ago,
but what you see is Zion Wilimson. He looks great,
like you lost a lot of weight. We'll see if
that translates into him staying healthy.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
Number one.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Can the Pelicans find a way to ask you whin
some games? But this the season I've come a season
is not exciting at all, unlike the last couple of years,
and especially in the Eastern Conference, like it's nothing. You
have Boston who don't won't have Dentertame this year, Indiana
won't have Tyres Haliburton this year. Uh No, Milwaukee got
(07:35):
rid of Dame Liller who who was missing a year. Anyway,
it's it just feels dull this year, twenty damn injuries.
You know, it's just I'm not excited about it. And
sometimes when you're not excited about it, then maybe it's
a good thing. Maybe that you you lower your expectations
to what you what you expect for the year, and
it's a helping the big the bigger picture. We will
see that works out now, hopefully the new stars created
(07:57):
this year. Hopefully we have some fresh contenders. I got
that we will have that they will have. Obviously Boston
and Indiana will be on the painful couple a year
now because due to the injuries of their of their stars.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
But in the West conference is stacked up.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
But then also that you have new injuries out Fred
van Vliet for the Houston Rockets, he's off for the
year now with a twenty a CEO. Okay, that's that's
a big piece of Houston Rockets there, you know. So
who are the probably the biggest challenger to the Docacy
thunder in the West. And you know, so you have
all that, it's just sad, bro I not looking forward
to it, you know, And honestly, they really need to
(08:33):
make some modifications to the rules, you know, they need
they need to allow some sort of hand checking, some
more physical play. You know, I love three point shooting.
I don't need to see sixty three point pointers in
the game. I just don't, seriously so meaning mixed up.
Bring back, bring back the post game, rememback the Membridge game.
The kids are just chucking up every day. And it's
even as a guy who loves amby basketball, I'm getting.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Tired of it.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
I am. Week four is upon us. I'll tell you
what imously big. The biggest game of the weekend is
Ravens Chiefs. Who would have thought about those teams are
you know one and two and you know pacing one
and three? Obviously the loser in this game. But I
gotta tell you, even with that, even with that fact,
(09:15):
this game is not a must win for Ethers teams.
This game was not a must win for Ethan's.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Teams at all. Here's why the AFC is terrible right now.
If what we see right now through three.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Weeks in the AFC, if this is what we're gonna
seem moving forward, the Chiefs are in it, and so
the Ravens. Good. Look here's steal in case of the Ravens. Yeah, yeah,
the Steelers two and one you know the Soda Bengals,
but it don't look good.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
They look they look terrible.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
They the Steelers be easily owned three right now, easily
owing three. Okay, you had the first game in the
Jet should have won that game. It wasn't a six
strac field goal, okay. And then last week to pass
what five times two of them on.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
The goal line. You know the Steels, we easily own three. Okay.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Then you have so in the Vegles course nine and
Joe Burrow. Okay, they're Joe Burrow until December. And if
what we saw against Minnesota is the sign things gone,
they are in trouble.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
That defensive is terrible. The on line is even worse. Okay.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
So the Ravens will still catch ground. They will still
catch ground, they win the division and we'll go from there.
There's still sup book contenders, the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Now.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
I don't think the Chiefs will win the AMC West
this year. I think the Chargers are the class of
that division this year. They're aready three no in the division.
They're ready three no, all three wins in the division
to beat the Chiefs, the Raiders and the Broncos already
this year. Okay, it's ready shipped to be the Chargers
a year to at least win the AMC West.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
However, when it looks when you look past all the.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Contenders in the AFC, obviously I mentioned nothing on Tuesday
that no know. If I'm looking at Boo contenders in
the AFC, you're looking at the Stool Ravens, the Bills,
and the Chargers.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
I'm not there in the Colt yet. I'm not there
Nicolets just yet.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
I gotta see more big gangs of the Rams this
weekend that go a long way, and premim an effort
for me.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
But it's only three teams. Who else in AMSY scares
you as bad as the Chiefs look this year? Who
else in AMS scares you?
Speaker 1 (11:13):
Nobody does. Houston stinks this year. Denver's overrated. Okay, throw
me a team, throw me a team AMC and and
I'll tell you then that they're They're not a serious team.
So I still expect, even though Chiefs go down one
to three this year this weekend, rather, I still expect
Andy Reid and company Pat Mahomes the company to get
to the playoffs. Plus they are gonna get healthier tree back.
(11:37):
I think this week or next she Rice Dell receivers
back a little bit counts. Any any weapon that can
help mahomes will count and will go a long way.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
And nothing nothing, It's not like they suck.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Their defense is still really good. This can't, this can't
move the ball. We'll score the ball. But when you
get those pieces back, it's go a long way. So
believe me, I think I think both those teams are
gonna be fine. They can go one to three b ok. Honestly,
this is the year. I think we're gonna see an
eight nine team this year in the AFC againt the.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Wall card which keeps the open with chiefs.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
That simple, just that simple. So anyway, the NFL Football's
I said, the Football Hall of Fame has released its
nominee lists for the twenty twenty six.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
Campaign. What do you call it? Twenty six potential? Uh
entries and entrurers wouldn't call that.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
First titles of players include, of course, at quarterback, Drew Brees,
you have Philip Rivers and Alex Smith, Frank Gore and
Lashawn McCoy's running backs, you have a receiver there for Gerald.
He should get it easy, Bubbay Breese should get in.
I think Rivers will not get in the first ballot.
Frank Gore is on the on defense there tight ends
Jason Whitten and Greg Olsen. I think Megan on un
(12:52):
first ballot, he got David de Castro, Mount Marcus Pouncy.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
You have.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
You know Atkins, Joelle Casey, Thomas Davis, A couple of
guys that may get in.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Not being at the first ballot, we'll see other notable
notable nominees.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
Got Eli Manning, of course, who missed it out last year,
might getting this time around. Donald McNabb ran on Cunningham.
You got Fred Taylor, Marshawn Lynch, Chris Johnson to get receivers.
He got Tory Holt, who I'm stunt he's done in
there yet. See Smith Junior not in yet? Should we
get into and Reggie Wayne I'm surprised not in the
year and Kwam Bolden, Chad Ocho Cinco. Obviously you got
(13:27):
alf of the lineman Willie Anderson, Jarry Evans, Matt Burke,
Nick Mangold linebackers got Louke Keekley, who should get get
in this time around.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
Jarell sucks as well. James Harrison should get in as well.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
To claim Matthews, the third, the DB's Darren Woodson, Ronnie Harrison,
Troy Vincent Kickers, Adam Adam Pantry, Jason Hanson, and he's
a punter, Shane Leckler. So obviously this listening now down
a couple months. The final class we announced in early
twenty twenty six. I believe I'm mistaken that the list
will be announced at Super Bowl weekend actually, and of
(13:59):
course the X when the induction will be in August
twenty twenty six when they do the first preseason game.
So my guess is Drew Brees is a shoe when
they went to get in. Definitely, Drew Brees and Life
First Generald are definitely the shoeings of the of the
first ballots. Definitely the shoeinges. Okay, there's a case for
Jason Whitten. There's a case for looking down the list
(14:23):
here other guys here, Uh, do you know Act's baby
Thomas Davis. Definitely that's your case, said, but my two
shoeins definitely Drew Brees and Life Fresh Geralds definitely my
two My two shoes here.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
All right, what else not do here? We gotta talk
about here?
Speaker 1 (14:40):
Oh yeah, so the main thing once I'm out here.
Kamala Harris has a new book. It's called hundred seven Days.
It's like this episode podcast. I'm thinking of buying it. Actually, now,
you guys know, I don't care for Kama Harris. I've
never liked her. I've been one of her bigger critics,
even though I did vote for her in the election.
I vote for her for voted for with Biden in
(15:01):
twenty twenty and I voted for an election in twenty
twenty four. But as I've told you through the years,
when I voted, I have voted against Donald Trump, not
for someone.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
I haven't vote for a president in three cycles. Okay.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
The last president I voted for was Barack Obama. I
haven't voted for anyone. I've voted against someone to get
into the office. Okay, But I gotta tell you. You know
this book which just came out, and I think this
week you hear some of some of the excerpts and
some things that have come out since then. She's doing
a media tour now of the book. I'm sure I'll
(15:34):
probably play some clips on the road, even on the show.
Certainly loves the Internet episodes.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
Maybe I gotta tell you some of these clips.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
So ma of these clips are pretty fascinating to the
point where not I want to buy this book. So
a couple of things here and about her relationship with
Joe Biden in the campaign, Harris writes that she was
angry and disappointed by some of the Joe Biden's actions,
including the phone call that he had made to her
minutes before debate with Donald Trump. She also that Biden's
in a circle was reckless and pushing him to run
for reelection, and that his age showed in physical and
(16:06):
verbal stumbles, basically confirming everything that people like myself and
others Mark Frantoana's podcast had said for years that he
is not viable even if he's doing a good job.
The optics matter in politics. I'm sorry, you know, I
got into fights with Rob the Genius on the show
about this and he's like, swore that you know Biden
(16:29):
And I'm not disagreeing that Biden did not do a
solid job, but if you want to have a chance
in hell and this climate to get.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
Re elected, you have to show that you're competent.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
And unfortunately all the optics got in the way of
the actual policy. Okay, and we said the Democrats in
the look. The only reason they pulled Joe Biden out
of the out of the race because the donors cut
off the money. It took Joe Biden embarrassing himself on
the debate stage, okay, and then the donor is saying, well,
(17:02):
we're not going to commit to it now, dah da
da before they pull the plug. And they're lucky that
They're lucky that the debate was that early, because normally
the debates don't happen till like in September or October.
The fact was that there was debate plan in June.
You know, might not save them. I mean it didn't
matter anyways, It's still lost. But I still say that
(17:23):
had Biden's in the race, he would have done worse
against Trump than Kamla did honestly in terms of marginalization
with an administration. The book describes a frustration with being
sidelined in the White House and feeling that her work
was not properly defended against media attacks. She writes that
she felt she couldn't advise Biden to drop out of
(17:43):
the race because it would seen as a poisonous disloyalty
and incredibly self serving.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
See this is a probably in politics, do you want
yes men around you or not? This?
Speaker 1 (17:54):
This, This gives you a little bit of an insight
about how the world works in politics.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
Anybody, this is not this the by administration, This is
not this. This is I would argue a large part
of the trodministration acts the same way that they're scared
to approach Donald Trump because Trump is certain behaviors.
Speaker 1 (18:10):
And what he does and how he acts. What are
we doing here? Like you aren't supposed to. It's frustrating
because like these people elected officials should be able to
approach president and tell them X, Y and z okay
and be honest and truthful your fault and it can't
(18:32):
be because again the reason why is if they're not,
they lose access to power. And even Kama Harris for herself,
yeah she's busing this now, but it would be braver
to do this in real time when you were in
power as R as president United States. Okay, so this
makes look bad anyway, to be honest with you. In
terms of campaign shortcomings, Harris points out points to a
(18:55):
lack of time as a major obstacle, with their campaign
being the shortest presidential can pain in modern history.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
She also expressed addresses her dismayed.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
At a fumble debate performance by a running mate, Tim Walls.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
All right, in terms of the tourists, Yeah, the time
didn't help.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
I would argue the short time probably in some ways
did help because people had to decide quickly and then
and it gave it gave her and Tim Walls less
time to fuck up, if you will, in a case,
and in many ways that actually may have helped them, actually,
you know, because it kept them focused and okay, some
days let's go the debate performs at Tim Walls, I
(19:35):
thought he did fine. I just thought I just thought
Jadvance was really good too, Like you don't have to
like j D. Fance to know how well optics they
invents did very well in that in that performance. I
think I think people are discrediting how good he wasn't
at I thought Walton's fine. Walls did look nervous at first,
but once he got that's policy, it was fine.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
You know. So I disagree with that point there, All right?
What else here? Uh? And this is the big one,
that big take away here a dilemma about who should
be her running mate.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Harris reveals that her first choice running mate was actually
Pete bouda Judge, but she had now concerns that having
a ticket with a black woman and a gay man
was too big a risk for the American.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
Electorate to accept.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
At the time, the sentiment was drawn criticism from Blue
Jege and others. Okay, again, I might have lost them
to some little bit of defeat. There again, criticism about
having a black woman a gay man was too big
a risk for that time. Of course, this is criticized
(20:36):
by pret Blue Judge and others. Here's the thing about that,
And I've actually gone to a couple of discussions with
some friends of mine who will talk Paulsible.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
Then she's not wrong.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
Like personally, I would have liked Blue Judge better better VP,
although I did want I want him all, but because
of the small short window they had to work with.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
And let's let's face it, we are.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
While we are a progressive country, we have continued to
be progressed in a lot of ways. There's still an
ignorant part of this country. And you guess what it
ain't this the Republicans, buddy. There are a lot of
Democrats who look at a gay man and black women
and say, nah, I'm good Okay, I'm sorry. It's out
there and it ain't just Republicans, buddy hate bring it
to you. You know why is up on that one.
(21:29):
It was risky to do that at that time. They
had they had to get they had to get all their.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
Ducks in a row immediately. Okay. There was no time
to sit and ponder. Okay.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
Remember the switch was made in July, in middle of July. Okay,
literally a month before the Democrat National Convention. Okay, you
you didn't have any time, and only that they're already
they were already down in the polls.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
As it was big to Donald Trump.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
Okay, Colma, at least shorten a gap, because I still say,
had Joe Biden won stay in and stayed in the race,
Trump probably gets closer to three hundred fifty throw votes, not
three twelve. Okay, I think that the race was competitive
because of Kamala Harris. Honestly, in terms of the sentiment,
(22:19):
would just see he has righty be pissed about that.
She says, you should. All these things we're reading here
honestly only confirms that all these politicians.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
Are fucking spinless, the all spinalleists. Okay, you wrote a book.
You're omitting it now. Cool. I think I think her.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
Political career is done because this book is the bridge burner.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
Okay. I think she made a decision that I'm on
my present again.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
Probably she ready there's rumors her run for governor for California,
and she pulled out that. I think she said, I'm done.
I'm listening to limb my life. I'm gonna read, write
books and whatever in maximize why I can't now, she's
right in the sixties. She doesn't need do anything. She
has on the money in the world she needs. She
can make money consulting and work mind of scenes.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
This book is a bridge.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
Burner, you know, and a way I feel bad for
her too also because you know, I'm sure it is
harder even in the Newerk Party. It's probably just tough
to be a black woman and having to find your
voice and you're not being utilized the way you should.
All these things you were seeing that were rumored for
(23:29):
those four years that people saying, ah, I'm a big deal.
She's confirming now to the the Biden stuff. They're not
being utilized to help an administration. Okay, the short comings
in the campaign, everything, all the things that we were
all critical of that, other Democrats saying, Oh, it's not
a big deal.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
She's now confirming. Now what now? What again?
Speaker 1 (23:52):
This is why I can tell you, guys, your party
doesn't give a fuck about you. Stop treating these parties
like their like like their family, because they went't this
on if you're on fire, And I know talking about
both parties. Okay, this is what I've been saying for years.
I or rather have ranked wins voting. Okay, I hate
all these parties. I really do.

are lesser in terms of policy, They're lesser.

Of the two. Okay, that's what I'm gonna say about that.
So I'm gonna buy this book, and I'll tell you why.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
I have Audible and I've I've racked up a bunch
of credits through the h the last year or so.
I have like three credits to burn. And there really
know all the books I really I'm clamoring for. In fact,
on the books I would I have my wish list
to go buy or on I can get for free
on the my my my library audio book I use
(24:47):
all the time. See this is again, this is me
being frugal would mean, you know, not cheap or frugal
unless it's a book I really want to buy. For example,
what I do is I always check first at the
library see the books do for a lot of times
are available ready, and if and if they're available for free,
I'll order a book through the library. Okay, it was
(25:07):
a book that I really it was a book I
can't i for free, and it's something I'm not gonna
see in library for a while and I really want it.
Like this book was able, I'm gonna buy it and
use the credit. So I have about three credits left
on us. I'm gonna burn it because I'm really curious
about all the details in here and if I find,
if I read more uh takeaways that outside of what
I've sat here on the show, I will definitely bring
it up on the show. But anyway, that's it for
