Speaker 4 (00:54):
See, I'm like a hurricane duramole breeze, earnestly speaking, leave
it eat like a time. Every first week podcast recording
this on a Thursday since eighteenth, twenty twenty five for
(01:15):
the Friday show How you Guys Doing It? Is yet
another end to the week here, and we're about to
get things rolling. Lots of things to talking about on
the show today, So I big my notes here. First off,
I think that's about the Canelo flight cune Olla Crawford
flight from Las Saturday I did miss on Netflix, especially
records Awful Announcing also announces their top twenty five most
(01:39):
influential sports personalities of the year. Then some news on
ESPN by Molly Curm leaving the company, And of course
I have to redo a segment that I had additionally
recorded on the show on the Friday Show last week
that if you see on social media, if you see
on media for example, that last segment of the show
(02:00):
was actually the sound actually just went out for some reason.
It was a technical issue that I did not catch
on until after the fact, and which by the way,
I haven't even edited yet for the record, So I
gotta get to that first as well. But I want
to start here, start personal first and foremost, because the
last week or so, the family car here in the
(02:21):
Christian household has been having issues. We took the car
to the mechanic late last week, earlier this week, well
not no, late last week, to a first mechanic who
then could identify the problem and then told us pretty
much to buy a new car or training my car
for the new car. Well you already know how I
roll guys. I've done shows on this in the past years.
(02:44):
I don't want to own own a new car. I
especially hate car payments. I already said that any all
my cars I owned, which I both owned outright, my
car and my wife's car off family car, we both
owned those outright, we haven't had We've had car payments
about four or five years now, and that's by design.
We don't want car payments. We our attitudes are gonna
run these cars to the ground. But we also realized
(03:06):
that there will be a point in whatever the next
five to ten, whatever the five years or two years,
whatever it may be, that we might have to go
that route in the event that something goes wrong. I mean,
and we are at least with the with the family car.
We are furning with that reality in a sense. But
you know, I realized to also cars, especially since post
(03:28):
a pandemic, you know, the price pricing of cars are.
For the roof, I'm scared to even look at the
idea of buying the car. I don't I don't even
want to want to consider it. But we took the
car a truck in to get fixed. We found a
new mechanic, we took him in a Monday. He found
the problem and we fixed the problem, paid the money done. Man,
(03:49):
You guys know, I'm a how frugal I am. I
hate spending money. I hate money. I hate car payments,
hate I hate paying, I hate paying for things. I
hate paying for things. I hate It's okay, made me
praise that. It's not hate paying for things. I hate
way staying money. I can't stand wasting money, dude. It
is the worst. I can't stand it. So I would
not pursue your brand new car. Ever, I always said
(04:09):
I will always get a used car anyway, because any
car that's brand that's quote unquote brand new, you know,
and so anything that depreciates tremendously, like twenty five percent
the minutes off the minutes off the lot, I'm not
owning that. Sorry, not doing it. And that's that's that's
gonna for it, cash to pay cash. No, not doing it.
(04:29):
And I also made a decision too, you know, and
not not that ever, I've already not gone this route
throughout my entire life, but even more so now going forward,
I'm never owning any of the cars outside of Honda's
until Toyotas and Honda's that's it, I know. Not Toyota
Corolla twenty ten old car has a near one hundred
(04:50):
three thousand miles. The car run's fantastic. People say, well,
she get in your car. You know it's not looks old. Yeah,
it stuck at the point of point B. Don't have
no mechanical issues, not not not the course, it's working
great for me. So why why would I buy a
car to impress you? To press this person who want impressing.
I'm trying to press any money I'm trying to get.
I'm trying to get to work and back what my
(05:11):
errands in back, lived my life and back. I don't
want car payments to impress people that I don't really
give a shit about, you know what I'm saying, And
as I don't live my life that way almost some
for results, I'm not trying to. I'm not trying to
impress someone or the ladies they say to you know, no,
because the more I'm married, I'm happily married in fact,
so there's no need for that. My wife our other
(05:33):
car is a twenty fifteen Dodge Journey, and like I said,
Dodges is what it is. I don't I love my country.
I love America, but I hate I hate, I hate
the way they manifact your cars. And we we knew
from day one that getting this Dodge Journey, and the
only reason we got the Dodge Journey because it was
a three three row seat fifth three rows of seeding,
and we're growing family well at the time we were anyway,
(05:57):
although it was done with two kids. By the time
we were still considering him in the third kid then
decided not to. But haven't said that. We knew at
some point this would come to head. We reready put
up those thousand dollars in this car, ready in the
last couple of years. When it comes to you know,
fixed it. It's done in this job. You know, we've
(06:19):
had this car when we had what toy. We got
this car when it had six thousand miles. We're now
at ninety six thousand. We had eight years. It's a
ten year ten year old car. But if we've had
eight years and and it's done, it's done. Good for us.
But we also know that there is definitely a limit.
Like we know what once a dodged a Dodge Cross
one hundred thousand miles h he's starting to get that
(06:41):
territory of Now. Okay, dude, you gotta do look at
the numbers. And we considered, he actually considered to get
another car, praying in a car for another one. But
we we we decided to wait to say, Okay, let's
wait and see if the the repairs to fix the
fix the car exceeded two thousand dollars. That was a
limited two thousand dollars. In two thousand dollars, We're like, okay,
(07:01):
we gotta get in the car because now we have
to be now with just no money in the situation,
and I'm talking about that. The first mechanics said that
even if if we fixed the car, which was the
same price he gave us, there was no guaranteed that
that was the problem with the car. So why the
hell are you telling us to do this? Then you
just just giving you money. No, I don't. I'm not
wasting money. No, I hate wasting money. Hate it. Can't
(07:22):
stand it. I mean, even for the idea of maybe
becoming a one car family again, because there was a
time where you were one car family, because we didn't
really need two cars at the time. At the time,
there was a time where I was on working, my
wife was home and we got a first kid. I
used the car who was working back. I have a
lifestyle where I don't need to go out much. I
don't go out much as this anyway, I'm outside of
going to work and then occasionally go occasionally going to
(07:44):
a random place which is random. Again, I don't need
a car like twenty four seven. I can serve d
a out of a car honestly, like I can. I
know this is not We're not in a very metro
area like in New York where you can get uber
and get uberywhere in the cabs all that, I understand
that it's hard to do it order, especially in Pobbach County,
but I wouldn't. I could still out of car, honestly.
(08:07):
I could. In my family two cars. It's bordline luxury.
But there are a few days a week where the
car two cars have become necessary because of a lot
of schedules. But uh yeah, but here's a mom line.
I will never own a car until I'll never own
buy a new car, a brand new car, ever, my
(08:28):
mine not doing it. Always be used, will be used.
Always get a car that's been used and good enough
to get me here here and back. Because I'm done
the payments. I'm done with it, I really am. Anyway,
we are approaching week three, actually right now, it's actually
week three is starting because I'm recorded this podcast right now.
The Doblins and Bills are on. It's fourteen seven Bills
(08:48):
and they're driving to score again. This Dolphin team sucks
the soft yeah, the softest ship. But there's a lot
of over reactions in the league across board and in
both ways of teams that are doing well, of the
shooting teams doing bad. You know, and I got, I got,
you know, the same people do every year. They react
two weeks in. I'm like, dude, it's two it's two weeks. Relax,
(09:11):
it's two weeks. Don't need don't need to react. Now.
I know the cold story is a great story. I
see things there that can be sustainable. But now they
can playing on the road this weeking is Tennessee. I
want to see more. Okay, like what we know in
the leaguement now what we know, uh is that Okay?
We know who the who? The team who who? The
(09:32):
best teams in the league are the Ravens, the Eagles,
the Bills. Those teams we know those are the coup
de gras packers almost like it in that conversation too.
I think the Troy still there. And we also know
that the bad teams, the Titans, the Giants, the Jets,
the almost had a chiefs for second, only two Titans, Jets,
(09:53):
the Saints especially too. We know those the tippy top
and the and the and the bottom of the barrel.
We know we know who those teams are. That that is,
that's not gonna change, okay, But what I what is
it mentioned one of the two teams, the teams that
I mentioned at the tip top at the bottle barrel
or teams that they will be this way. But in
December and January, the middle twenty seven, the middle twenty six,
(10:15):
how I'm gonna put it, that's when a mystery comes.
So everyone's overreacting to everything. And I'm gonna say to
you guys, is you guys could calm down, Just calm down,
calm down. If you've got a lot of toid of us,
I always say, give it for weeks, four weeks for
things to settle in before we start, you know, making narratives.
(10:37):
You know you know I say that. But I'm also
the one who always tend to uh do like stupid,
like over over overrated, orderrated, or like contendive pretender of
the Week two Week three. It's fun sports radio topics,
but whatever it really is anyway, some news from Netflix
actually and I I actually missed the fight on Saturday.
(10:58):
The Terrence Crawford Canela Alparez a fight happen on Netflix
this past Saturday. And it's my fault because I didn't
want to step late out of work next day. I
wish I watched it, though, But they smashed numbers there
apparently in this fight. So cord to Netflix, the event
had a global viewership of forty one point four million viewers,
(11:19):
making it the most watched men's championship boxing match of
the century. The fight with saw Crawford I Canlo by
a Unanio's decision peaked at over twenty four million concurrent streams.
In addition to the stream records, the events also set
records with live attendants and gate revenue. The fight also
drew a crowd of seventy thousand, four eighty two at
at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, setting a new record
(11:41):
for both the stadium and for a boxing match. And Nevada.
It also generated a gate of over forty so million dollars,
the highest forever for the venue. Now, I was raised
as the big boxing fan back in the day. I
still like boxing for the most part, but boxing today
and pretty much has been for the last maybe fifteen
years now, fifteen years. Outside of Floyd, say, Floyd Mayweather
(12:02):
and a couple other guys here and there, Dave lack
star power, which is why the popularity of the sport
has gone down. You know, I come from an era
where Mike Tyson was the king, George Form was still relevant. Obviously,
you're talking about Lennox, Lewis, you talk about all these guys,
Michael Moore, all these guys that were very influential. Box
was a big deal was growing up and through the years.
(12:25):
The last twenty years, it has just gone down and
down and down. I would dare say UFC MMA is
much popular, much more popular now than in Box says,
but I'm really curious if this fight because I know
we had the Jake Paul thing, and that's all like,
that's more caricature stuff people people looking at talking to
that being a joke. But this is big because Canalo's
is a big deal. Canal's want if the star is
(12:46):
the last ten to fifteen years, the one that faces
the box the last a few years, So it's Tarns Crawford.
You've seen these kind of numbers and here, and granted
Netflix has been known to fudge numbers here and there
to their liking, and that's what you know because they
have there's no really there's no Nielsen ratings on that,
so they have access to all the numbers, so they
can function numbers anything wanted to. But I still believe,
(13:06):
I still agree that people did watch his fight and
indros this was this was a very highly highly uh contested,
very highly um hyped fight coming coming into it. I
do wonder if this fight and this new platform, instead
putting everything on pay review like it has been in
the past, putting it on more accessible stream services like
(13:29):
Netflix and Amazon Prime and Paramount Plus and all that,
if this will be the thing that really launches boxing
back to popularity on We'll see. We sall see. We
saw the Jake Paul Mike Taxon fight that happened was
the last year happened, and granted it was a joke,
but people still tune in. But this now is legit
(13:49):
the Canelong and Crawford. That's legit, you know what I'm saying.
We'll see how that plays out in the years to come,
but I hope, I hope boxing this is back and
on on our, in our, you know, the mainstream again
as it used to be anyway, so awful. Announcing announced
recently their top twenty five most influential sports media personalnits
(14:12):
out of two thousand of the two thousands. Rather, it's
a very very I don't think this is a controversial,
to be honest with you, I actually like this list, honestly.
I run it down from twenty five twenty five to
fourteen for now, so twenty five to Colin Coward, Ernie Johnson,
twenty four, Michael Strahan twenty three, twenty Romo twenty two
Department I take guys at twenty one, twenty is Mike
(14:34):
Florio nineteen, Den Laboratord eighteen, Menal Times seventeen, Stuart Scott sixteen,
Dan Patrick fifteen, Jim Nantz and then fourteenth Kerb Herb Street.
I don't disagree with this, man. I think Colin Coward
we could be a little higher. Ernie Johnson should be
definitely higher than this. I mean, he's been influential for
in the last forty years. Honestly, keep it, keep it
(14:56):
a buck. I think Romo initially had a little spark
when he came in people a litt when he came
started doing broadcasting in twenty fifteen, twenty sixteen, twenty seventeen. Rather,
that's cool off a little bit in recent recent years.
I think Florio, because of PFT being a big deal,
is obviously at the Allo alge that in LeBatard, of course,
I'm a huge fan LeBatard. Dan Patrick is solid. Obviously,
(15:16):
Kurhurstreet of course was one of the biggest names in
college football. Jim Nantz is the is the UH the
number one team on CBS, NFL, CBS and also that
the Masters and all that. So the prominent that list
there all right, thirteen through UH Let's go thirteen through
through UH eleven thirteen Bob Costas. I'm a little shot
by that because Bob Costs is huge, but a lot
(15:38):
of Bob Costas was. I think Bodcast was bigger in
the nineties, in the eighties, I wouldn't consider him. I
am massive influential guy in the two Thousandsly wrong twelve
with Joe Buck. I no problem with that. Joe Buck
is biggest name in on on Fox Sports, NFL Fox,
the number one guy also for baseball four years and
now he's the numb one guy in One Night Football,
(15:59):
Number one, Skip Bayless polarise. People gonna say this, he's
too high. Here's the thing. I agree with this. Let
men tell you why, because love him, hates Skip bayliss.
He he's one of the biggest names. He's people hate
Ski Baalists, people hate tweets Skip Balist. He's the that's
influence too, and he was always the one driving line
(16:20):
of the narratives whole a good while when he was
on First Take. Obviously not as relevant used to be,
but between two thousand and seven and two thousand and
I say seventeen eighteen, he was arguably one of the
biggest names in the media. All right, let's go top
ten here, Top ten, Number ten, Aaron Andrews. She was big,
big girl, I would say back in the day, not
(16:40):
so much now. Number nine Pat McAfee, I agree with that.
He's been one of the biggest names, the bigest names
today in the industry. Eight Dave port Knowing not a fan,
but honestly what he's done bors to sports. I have
to Afterking credit, keep it keeping a buck he's been,
you know, he's put that company into into where it's
at now and one of the most Roman companies in
all sports was seven Doors Burke too high in my opinion,
(17:02):
but I also love Doris Burke and she's actually a
phenomenal female analyst for the NBA. ESPN on a six,
Scott van Pelt one of the nicest guys in the industry.
Certainly solid, you know, I I it feels a little
high by the same time, you know, given when he's
on ESPN, he's not quite Steve ay Smith, but he's
(17:23):
he's actually the you know, if I put like the
Mott Rushmore right now, currently the best personality is on ESPN,
he's definitely Matt Rushmore. On number five. The combination of
Adam Scheff and Ahel Rosnowski definitely agree with that. Number four.
The PTI guys a Tony core Heinzer and Michael Wilbond
definitely agree with that. Number three. Charles Barkley, I could
argue how you should be higher Steve Aysmith number two.
(17:44):
Of course, love I hate him. The guy is still
look he's getting paid like like like like a superstar.
You can't. You can't. Yeah, you talked about him, but
he's still he still comes. And number one, I agree
with this. Bill Simmons some was the first personality that
really you know, made it as a fan. Really you
(18:06):
think about it, like he obviously has riding shots, but
he was a fan. And what he's done with podcasting
and influenced that medium, you have to give them credit
for that. So I this list is pretty good. Actually,
I actually don't disagree with that list whatsoever. I don't
speak at ESPN. Massive changes coming to ESPN. Molly Karram,
the longtime host First Take, confirmed that she is stepping
(18:28):
away and leaving the company. On her Instagram account, stated
that she has decided to close this incredible chapter and
stay away from First Stake. Corne reports Karm turned down
a new contract off from ESPN while she was expected
to stay until the end of the year. Her absence
for the show and statements from both her and Steve
may Smith having indicated and abrupt departure. Karm has it
(18:49):
not announced her next career move, but she did hint
to her followers to followers to stay tuned ESPN has
released to statement praising her professionalism and acknowledging her integral
role in the success of First Take Over the past decade.
I mean it was kind of quick. Obviously, it sounds
like money was an issue. The rumors are coming out
now that they asked her, took a pay cut, she
turned it down and away we go. Yeah, I mean
(19:11):
that's what it is. God be honest to you with
Molly Currem. I was a fan initially, she got kind
annoying toward the end. Honestly, I'm not necessarily heavily hopefully
sad about this necessarily. In fact, I'll be honest with you,
some of the guest hosts that they've had on the
show when she takes time off have actually done a
better job. In my opinion. This is just my opinion.
(19:31):
There's nothing that is Molly this. This is my opinion.
I don't must he's not great at her job. I
just think she has been I've seen better at the
job as of late. So this can help ESPN the
First take honestly, although I will say I haven't really
watched the First Thing much in the last couple months,
just twitch content and honestly, you know, I think I'm
kind of gonna over sports contents the whole old time.
(19:53):
But you know, whatever she does, I which is her best,
and you know, and that's just that. You know. Now,
before you get out here this segment, I want to
I wanna touch on a quick I did this segment
last Friday in the show that's writing. But you don't
know that now. If you listen to podcast last week,
you noticed that the last five minutes of the show
(20:13):
was just dead silent, dead silence. And the reason that
was that way because apparently there's a technical issue where
my mic cut off, I guess, or something cut off
where you couldn't hear me. You can still see me talking,
but you can't hear me. And I did not realize
that happened until literally probably a day later. In fact,
I had any to edit that off on a YouTube page,
(20:34):
especially too, and on and on and on the audio side.
But I was covering on that on the episode. And
this this this came from shout out to Vince Russo,
who's actually the former writer at w W from the
Attitude era and of course w W and TNA and
all that, but I love its content too. For the record,
(20:57):
he was talking about something on on his podcast, which
kind of in triath me because I'm not I'm not
big into conspiracy theories, but I was kind of, you know,
from are a little bit on this one, and I
was like, that's interesting, Maybe I'll cover this on my podcast.
He's talking about fifteen celebrities who maybe cloned. Now you
hear like through the years, certain celebrities, certain you know,
(21:18):
through the years that might not be real to be cloned,
you know, And I never really died through that stuff.
And I'm I'm not saying I'm even doing it now,
but I was just curious what celebrities are out there
that because they're clones. So I it's how to look
up fifteen redom celebrities. This would have gave me here
Number one avel been the Avril is dead and was
(21:42):
replaced by cloning Melissa theory. West we rephrase that the
quote Averl is dead and was placed by clone up.
Melissa's theory is perhaps the most famous celebrity cloning rumor.
It claims that this after the successful her debut album,
The Real Averrol died and was replaced by a look alike.
Proponents of this theory going to subtle changes in facial features, heights,
(22:03):
and even her even her handwritings as proof. I've heard
that before randomly. I'm not big. I believe fan. I
had a couple of songs every there, but I've never
been a fan. But I've heard theories in through the years,
like randomly that she may be she may be cloned.
We'll see number two. Eminem Wow. A popat theory suggests
that Eminem diying the car crash in two thousand and
(22:24):
six it was a placed by a clone. The evidence
cited is a change in his voice, his less aggressive
puppet persona, and a general shift in his rap style.
I don't know if I believe that emindem seems to
the same, the same guy. He's still I think m
them matured. I think it's just maturity of all. I mean,
(22:45):
the dude in the fifties now, I think, or close
to it. I think it's a grandparent now in fact.
So I don't know. I just think that's a more
maturity thing. I don't that why. I don't know. They
believe this one has been room for years. Paul McCartney.
Paul was that theory is one of the oldest and
most enduring. It claims that the Beatles basis died in
a car accident nineteenixty six and was replaced by a
(23:07):
look alike. Theorists believe they are clues hidden in the
Beatles album art, such as on the cover of Abbey Road.
I've heard, I've I've read actually some legit theories on
the Paul McCartney angle of this. Again, I'm not saying
I actually believe it. But if you take what they're
saying about McCartney face value, if you start believing that,
(23:30):
I wouldn't judge you, I really wouldn't. I would not
judge you. Again, do I believe it? I had not
dived in it deep enough to really give it some credence.
But there's some stuff there I've read that's like, oh,
that kind of makes sense. Actually not, I don't know
if I believe in that, but you can sell me
on that probably, but we'll see them before. Katy Perry.
(23:55):
A bizarre and disturbing theory alleges that Katy Perry was
actually is actually John Boney Ramsey Wow, the child beauty
queen who was murdered in ninety six. That case, I
was a huge case back in the day. The theories
claims that she went into hiding and was reborn as
Katie Perry. Never heard that three before. Actually, that's that's
news to me. By wait that that uh John Bannie
(24:16):
Ramsey case was huge, huge in ninety six, I was
sixteen in time. Number five Beyonce. Beyonce has been a
subject of several clothing theories, oftentied to the Illuminati. One
popular rumor claimed that she faced the pregnancy with blue ivy,
and footage of her collapsing baby bump was used as proof.
Other suggestions, replaced by a clone in the early two thousands,
(24:40):
I don't I don't know that one not us, I
just don't, all right. Number six Miley Cyrus after she
shed a whole hand of Montana image for a more
provoculate persona. Some theory suggested that the old Miley was
killed and replaced with a clone who was easier for
the Illuminati to control. Interesting, that's interesting. One. Number seven
(25:02):
Britney Spears. The Free Britney movement, while a very real
and serious legal battle, also fueled some cloning theories. Her
public struggles and mental health challenges were interpreted by some
as evidence that she was a different person or was
being controlled by an unseen force. I've heard that one
for two also in the past. I disagree with that.
I don't think she's clone at all. I just think
that's she has issues. I think I think Brittany is
(25:23):
pretty transparent about her issues, you know, and she has issues,
you know. God bless her of course. Number eight tail Swift,
Oh boy. A peculiary rey suggest that tail Swift is
a clone of Zena Levy, the daughter of the Church
of Satan's founder. The evidence is primarily based on a
supposed physical resemblance between the two. What the fuck I said? Okay,
(25:48):
that's all right, whatever you say, all right. Number nine
Kanye West.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (25:53):
The rapper and fashion logal Kanye West has been the
subject of recent cloning rumors, fueled by his shifting public
behavior and statements. Some believe that the old Kanye was
replaced by a clone who was more controversial. No, Kaye
has always always had issues, mental issue issues. You don't
even make that up. You don't need to fake Kanye's
issues to to make to just why being a being
(26:16):
a clone? Dude sucked up in discussion, That's simple. Number
ten Magan Fox abits she took a break from the spotlight,
and they returned with a different look and a shift
in her public persona. Some fans speculated that she may
have been replaced by a clone. Never heard that one
for Actually, to be honest, it's to you to me,
