You're listening to the Heroes Podcast Network. Hello all your friendly Forced users out

(00:21):
there, Welcome to another episode ofEcho Station podcast The Mando Fetso. I'm
Ian and I'm joined by my lovelyco host Chris. Hello, well,
and we are recapping episodes twelve andthirteen of The Mandalorian today. Two extremely
good episodes. Ye. I meanthis season is just like better than the

(00:45):
season one altogether so far. Yeah, yeah fa yeah. I was actually
thinking for episode thirteen. I waslooking at it and I was like,
God, I feel like the seasonis almost over, like we've had so
much, but it's only five, only episode five, but we only have
three more left after this. Yeah, I know, but I feel like

(01:08):
I feel like I have no moreepisodes. It's already oh yeah, like
that it could just end with thisand it'll be good, which is I
wouldn't I wouldn't be happy, Butit just it feels like it's been that
much. That's it's a lot topack into a season, very much so.
Um So, to kick things off, we have a bit of sad

(01:29):
news in the Star Wars Galaxy,The Man behind the Mask and Suits for
Darth Vader and episodes four or fiveand six Dave Prowse has passed away.
It's very very sad. Yes,three members of the Yeah cast, which

(01:52):
is Anthon Daniels, Harrison Ford andMark Hamill. Protect them all with your
lines. I can't. I can'tdeal with twenty twenty if this happens.
Oh, if anything happens to anyone of them, I will literally just
go into a medically induced coma andnot wake up until I don't know when.
Fair not cool, not cool twentytwenty. But to be fair,

(02:19):
he was not young. He waslike an age lived very interesting, cool
life. Yes, um, yes, he'll be sorely missed. I know
that the past I think two orthree years, people were saying that he
stopped doing autographs and stopped doing conventionand stuff like that. So you know,

(02:40):
fans were kind of assuming that maybethings were going on the downhill slope.
They just didn't really know how badit was until you know, this
happened. Well, And it's sometimesI feel like with people who are very
physically active or living it either iteither really does well for your end of

(03:00):
lifetime kind of thing, or itjust screws up your body. And I
think it's a little a little columna little calm, and he was a
professional was a bodybuilder right or weightliftexcimy weightlifter. I believe. I believe
he was a professional weightlifter. Yeah, but he was also I mean he
was a professional swordsman. Yes,uh and that showed obviously with you know,

(03:21):
his dueling in four or five andsix. But yeah, sad news.
He will be sorely missed. Soraise a glass to our og sith
Lord Dave Prowse to you, goodsir um Oh another bit of I guess
personal news for me. I ama stupid whore and I bought no,

(03:51):
I bought a tops uh Mandalorian hobbybox of the Treating card. So that
should be coming sometime next week.So I'm opening that up. I don't
know if I'm gonna do it liveor not, but there's at least it's
guaranteed one autograph or one sketch cardin there, so I don't know what
I'm gonna quite get. But itcomes with a really cute like Mandalorian helmet

(04:14):
in ten. Yeah, it's reallyreally cute. So I bought that off
of eBay because I was like,uh, and so I might posting on
Twitter whenever I no, speaking ofwhich, though, this is another kind
of funny thing. So I'm atrading card group on Facebook for tops and
stuff. And before her autograph waslike sought after, super pricy. And

(04:39):
when I say that it has gonedown significantly in price, I'm not kidding
you. Oh that's good, likea lot. Like usually her autograph would
go for between depending on the cardand like an ENCRD auto or a sticker
auto, depending on you know whatit is, it would go anywhere between
like two hundred to six hundred.Wow, and yeah, but it depends

(05:04):
on the card and you know,if it's on card or stick but whatever.
Um. But like her on cardautos, which are the autos that
are more sought after, I've seenpeople sell them for no more than two
hundred, would normally this song forlike six. Well there you go,
So don't be a douche. Yikes, big yikes. Nope. Uh other

(05:30):
than that, do you have anystar horsh noosh you can think of Uh
no, that's it. Oh,I mean I'll plug this in even though
oh you know what, No,it's not even worth plugging because it will
be over by the time you guyshear me. Oh no, never mind.
Oh okay, Oh I say thatsomething that Squadrons is on sale,

(05:58):
but it ends tomorrow. Oh yeah, um, so actually I lied.
There's two other pieces of news Ijust thought of. So Star Wars Squadrons
getting an update. It got updateour this month to the new map and
new skins. And then next monthin December, we're getting two new ships.
We're getting the Tie Defender and thebee Wing Sweet Love Wings, both

(06:24):
sought after and very highly requested shipsfor DLC, and they're giving it to
us for free, which is evenbetter. So I cannot wait to fight
either of those. And so yes, Squadrons has been very, very fun
and I've just been having a blastwith it. And then another bit of
news is that we are, asof now, it could change by the

(06:46):
time this episode comes out, weare ten away from one hundred and fifty
followers. So Chris and I weretalking and I mean, it's not we
see these other podcasts that have, you know, twenty five hundred people following
them and whatnot, and we're there'slike this little Rinky Dinky dogg and Pony
show going Hello, Notice we likewhat we do and that's all that matters

(07:14):
exactly, uh, and so we'rethinking if we can get two hundred and
fifty or one hundred and sixty,we don't know yet. By the time
the new year rolls around, wewill probably doing another giveaway like we did
last time. And so that wasa lot of fun to put together and
ship out to people. So,uh, stay tuned for that. We're

(07:36):
still discussing it. We're still clamoringour ideas, but yeah, it's on
the horizon many and many it wouldbe nice. Yeah, we'll make up,
you know, we'll drop some dropsome announcements on our Twitter and whatnot.
Correct, yes, which you canfollow us at echostation Cast on the
twitters, so on the tweeters. But that about does it for us news

(08:01):
wise. So we're gonna go toa quick commercial break and then we're gonna
start discussing episodes twelve and thirteen ofMandalorians. So stay tuned, guys.
Let's let's talk about episode twelve, shall we. Let's do it. This
episode was by Carl Weathers, Yes, Carl Weddas, and I think he

(08:26):
needs to direct more episodes in thefuture, right, Like, I had
no idea that Carl Weathers did directing. I just know him as Carl weathers.
Oh I didn't either, and thisshocked me completely and I was like,
oh, this is quite nice.Oh the fantastic episode. Yeah,
and I really liked the building thathe did for his own character. He

(08:48):
became a sassy pants. Yeah,I love it. I love his character.
I like that he's like, Iam embracing being the good guy in
charge and this is happening. Hebecame mister Sassafras and I loved it.
Yeah. Um so yeah, soMando, he's like, I gotta to
get my ship prepared from this likeweird Monklamari vibe that's going on right now.

(09:13):
So let me land on a plantthat I know. Yeah, poor
poor chief, poor chief. Uhand so like there was that is um
it's basically like the Mandalorian as abook and the Mandalorian and it's this giant

(09:35):
book, right, and then it'sthe Mandalorian if the ship stopped breaking down,
and it's really tall, like justthis really small book. Oh it's
a sad comparison. It's not it'snot untrue. No, that's it's very
true. So yeah, so helands and he's greeted by um grief and

(09:56):
uh Carra Dune, who we findout cardoone is now the Marshal of Navarro
of this little she's the marshal inthese here parts. Yes, and clearly
there's been a time jump because herhair is a little bit longer. She
has a few different armor pieces on, and Grief has like a white beard
now and new fancy clothes. Soyeah, he's looking all in charge and

(10:20):
yeah, person type thing. Um, But first off, can we talk
about the fact that cardoone completely kickedass in the armor's armory with all those
people. Yes, I love tothat. Oh god, I just like
the characters. So watch dang it. I know it sucks. Uh And

(10:43):
she makes yeah I know, yeah, it's not it's we're very torn if
you cannot tell. Yeah. Butyeah. So she kicks some mass rescue
some stuff it doesn't belong to whotook it. She meets a new friend,

(11:03):
meets a new friend, her littleugly ferret friend. Yes, who,
I think he's adorable. But Ilove ferrets. But I feel like
you either love ferrets or you hateferrets. There's no indenting. It's kind
of like possums, like either youlove them or you hate them. Possums
are scary, but they're really cute. We have like three live in my

(11:28):
parents' backyard or under their porch, and so they feed them all the time.
They have diseases, don't do that, No, they don't, as
they do. That's a common misconception. I will continue to conceive that.

(11:48):
Well, at least the ones thatmy parents else don't have diseases so far
as we know. But anyway,um, so, yeah, cardon't kick
some ass. She clearly they showoff her wrestling moves because she just like
throws I think three or four peoplejust into walls at one point, which
is very funny to me. Yeah, that was pretty cool. Um,
I was like and I was like, oh, but I'm liking this,

(12:11):
damn. I know. Yeah.Uh. And so this episode, people
are saying, you know, it'sI think it's not necessarily a filler episode.
But I didn't think it's a fillerat all, because I've seen some
people go like, oh, thisis kind of like episode two where it's
just a filler. I'm like,it's not though, it's not. No,

(12:35):
because first of all, they weremain characters from the last season,
so we've gone back to check inon them, and we also made we
also learned some pretty big things.Oh yes, um, because of what
he ended up doing there at theend of the episode. Yeah, filler.

(12:56):
This completely moved the plot along,I agree. And again working with
the showing the world building and showingI like that it's you know, actually
showing what can happen, what canflourish once the Empire and there um their
heavy influence has been removed. Right. It's kind of like, you know,

(13:18):
after a forest fire, things lookreally crappy, but then they start
to bloom again. Yeah, Imean, because like the place looked great
and nice. Things were actually happening. They've got an educational system. Just
it has a school. They havea school. It's adorable and you know,
it's not it's nice to not justsee you know, like in in

(13:39):
the sequel series, everything just everythingkind of sucked. Yeah, like we
get we get Jaku, and weget a couple other planets that it just
seems like things are back to squareone with everything sucks under the Empire.
So it was nice to see thingsgetting to be normal again, getting to

(14:00):
actually be a flourishing society again. It's completely fair, completely fair. Um.
Did you also notice that that acertain statue resurrected in the town square.
Oh yeah, I'm so sad.Did you see it? It took
me a second viewing to see it, because I didn't realize until someone pointed
out on Twitter. Yeah I saw, and it's it's very fitting. Yea
that read him. I mean, well, he saved their lives, so

(14:24):
that makes sense. Um. Okay, So let's let's talk about the fact
that they have a school real quick. Let's let's talk about this scene because
it's a very cute scene. That'ssuper cute. You see all these little
kids like being taught by a protocoldroid and uh, did you notice that
one of the girl's hairstyles was raisedhairstyle. I did not no idea.

(14:48):
She has like the three buns inthe back. It's really cute. Um.
So the procol droid is teaching aboutyou know, the Republic and all
that stuff, and Mando's like, well, I can't lea the kid here,
and he's like, oh, ofcourse you can at school. It's
where kids belong. School. Yougotta leave a mirror, let's go shop,
and so they pop him in adesk. I guess that kid was

(15:11):
sick that day. Uh yeah, why is random open desk. Well,
I'm gonna assume he was sick.Yes, and the little baby notices a
kid eating some uh some cookies.Uh but they really weren't were they called
him. It's for the cook storesout in the world. They're Macrons Macrons,

(15:35):
yes, thank you? Yeah.Uh and so which Chris and I
are a fan of my way.We love a good Macrons. They're very,
very hummy. And so he's likelooking at me, he's like,
oh, he just looks at inthat little bachelor of a kid says no,
none for you. And I waslike, I'm a throw hands,
right, how can you deny? How can you deny something that cute?

(16:00):
I'm gonna throw hands at this kid, I swear to God. And so
you're just like, fuck you kid, And so the baby takes Yeah,
he forces them over to his deskand he's just not one on on the
rest of the episode. And Ithat's pure justice and I loved it.
Yes, it's what he does. But it's nice to see had nice to

(16:22):
know that he doesn't need to justmeet So now you know, now we
know right, yeah, he's heyou know, there's other things that he
will digest. He also has asweet tooth. It's yeah, it's all
good, and so they are.Yeah, they're gonna go talk shop,
and they're greeted by the myth Rollwho was in the very first episode of

(16:44):
season one. He was the onewho he threw in carbetite and he was
like, wait, why are youhere? He owes a bit of a
debt to Grief, so Grief isletting him paid off over like one hundred
so many years or something like that. It's very funny. He's good comic
relief. Yeah, he was.He was good. The whole episode actually
was filled with a bunch of funnystuff and I was very happy with it.

(17:06):
It was yeah. So yeah.It turns out there's an old imperial
base that's not too heavily guarded thatthey're like, well, we gotta get
this, you know, we gottaget their influence completely out of here.
This is ridiculous. That's just well, they've got a bunch of weapons and
stuff. They want to Yes,I want to do the weapons and get

(17:26):
them off our planet. So theytake a speeder too said base basically and
full on chaos and sues yes untilit was wrong and I'll let you take
it from here. Okay, Sothey take the speeder out and so this
is a lava planet UM. Sothey're kind of going in these like canyon

(17:52):
channels that have been carved out byUM the lava flows that actually ebb and
flow that UM come in like atide, lava tides. Uh. So
they're kind of racing against the clock. So they get in on the ground
they're they're trying to get in onthe ground floor UM before the lava comes
back, and it's not working. They're not able to like break in,

(18:15):
and so you know, Manda justdoes the mandoo thing and skyrockets up to
the landing platform yeah yeah, UMand knocks out a few troopers and takes
the elevator and back down and let'sthemit um. And so they were going,
oh so then what what's his name? Comic relief guy? What is

(18:40):
it? Yeah? So that Iwas like, okay, cool guys,
I'm just gonna take my speeder andyou just give me a call and you're
ready to leave. Yeah, that'syeah, I'm your uber. Yeah.
Chris like that's not happening. You'recoming with us. UM. So he
gets dragged it gets dragged along onthis crazy mission Um, so they're going

(19:04):
through there. You know, they'rebasically the the ideas that they're going to
shut down, um whatever stops thelava from coming in and overeating the whole
place. I don't like, Idon't quite understand the technical logistics behind that,
but basically, yeah, that sothey're trying to make their way over

(19:25):
there. UM. And as they'regoing, they figure out that there there
are a lot more people in thisum compound and there should be from what
their intel was, UM, Ilike, it seems to be quite an
active operation, which is really strange. UM. So you know, they

(19:48):
get in, they get to theyget to this lava shaft thing. Um.
Once again we're reminded that the Empirebreaks all ocean codes and never has
any freaking hand rails. And theycomin, they and then they went not
on with that, they where thelike where are there no hand rails?
As this episode a bunch of callbacksto the original trilogy, both in sound

(20:11):
effects and like things that they do, and it's very funny. Yeah,
so this was this was very muchlike the shutting down of the tractor beam
on Death Star one. Yeah, the first movie. Pour myth rolls like
the fun guys, I can't.This is they This is some bullshit.
Yeah, but they make they makehim do all the things. So yes,

(20:33):
it's very comical. But anyway, yeah, so they get it done.
Um, and they managed to getout of area. Of course they're
under attack. Um, and theyfind themselves in a room um where there
are two officers who are like, wipe the drives, wipe burns everything,

(20:53):
you know, which is you know, always a good indicator that you should
probably stop them. It was likethe scene scene it like you know at
Enron, this is just you knowwater Gate yea or water Gate. Yeah,
they're just toss and stuff into theshredders. Yeah, get rid of

(21:15):
it, get rid of So theymanaged to Yeah, they managed to stop
them, mostly so that they canpick up a transmission um from our friendly
clone doctor. Yes. Yeah, and so a little decide. Oh what
is it? What is that actor'sname? I'm blanking on it u,
which is dumb because I follow himon Twitter? Oh um who played the

(21:40):
doctor gave me? Yeah, giveme two seconds, I'll find it for
you. Uh Ohmed, Oh boy, this is a name I can't pronounce,
all right, so mum, Ican't say it. I'm so sorry,
We're sorry for butchering your name, but you're a really cool uh.
And he tweeted that his his likelife. One of his lifelong dreams ever

(22:04):
since he was a kid he firstsaw Star Wars was that he thought the
hologram messages were so cool and healways wanted to be a hologram message and
now he's a hologram message. AndI thought that was really that was really
sweet. That was really very verysweet. Um. So he's sending out

(22:26):
a message about you know, aboutthe about what they're working on. Um.
So basically, the sample that they'vegot they they got from the child
when man of a temporarily given thechild back to them. Um, they'd
taken a very I guess a verysmall blood sample and they couldn't take very
much more because again tiny child, yes, uh. And so they pretty

(22:47):
much run out of material. Butthey were having issues with the m account.
Here we go, here we go, and you know, good and
well. They did not to saymany chlorines because that's triggering to most people.
So they said m count so triggering. I was like, that's hilarious.
They're only going to call it them P. That's that's sly you

(23:08):
have to say something, something, something. It was like being able to
stabilize the clones. It wasn't working. So if this doesn't tie in to
the sequel movies, I don't Iwould be very surprised. You know,
it's going to It's got to tieinto Palpatine. She's trying to make a

(23:30):
bunch of clones of himself because hetalked about so many of the clones failing,
so obviously, like there's something aboutforced users and clones that does not
mix, is what I'm getting fromthis, Because we know we had no
problem making a bajillion Django FETs,right, but cloning of force users seems

(23:55):
to be an issue. So there'stwo ways this is probably gonna go.
And we'll talk about the other wayin a few minutes when we talked about
the end what we saw at thevery end of this episode. But I
agree something is happening something they're usingthese mini chlorines for one of two ways,
which one of them is probably goingto be because of you know,
how do we get this into ahost that you know, we how do

(24:19):
we how do we basically transfer thislife force into the host like this?
And it's kind of a blank andyou miss it line because he's in a
hologram, so it kind of breaksup a little bit. But you got
to, you know, really payattention to here, just like, oh,
so that's what they wanted him for. Interesting, so oh it has

(24:44):
to but uh they find out allthis stuff and Mando's like, oh no,
the kid he's in school. Soyeah. Well but also because so
they he was sending this message touh Mouf Gideon. Yeah, man was
dead. That can't be he's dead. This must be an old message.

(25:04):
It's fine. And then myth rollslike, no, it was like two
days ago. Yeah. So thenit's like yeah, and then we were
we rushed back to the school.Yeah, and so Mando jet packs away
because cars like, you're faster onthe jet pack get out of here.
So he takes a bunch of troopersand they're making the way down the hall.

(25:25):
Oh we have well, we haveto talk about this. We cannot
we cannot not talk about this. And for those of you know, now
they pulled a Game of Thrones andwhen they're in a hallway, yeah,
when they're on in a hallway shootout, you notice a man in jeans,
a shirt and an Apple watch Yeah, he's just sitting there with his hand

(25:47):
in his pocket. Probably were watchingthis all going down thinking, damn,
I'm so lucky I didn't work ona Star Wars and it got past the
edge. It's a really fast blinkand you miss it shot. And since
then Disney, Oh yeah, Twitterwas h People have made like three D

(26:08):
printed action figures of it already, people have made mock versions of it.
It is hilarious. Um, Ishould reflected in it, embraced the fact
that, you know what mistakes happen. Whatever. Did Lydia tell you that
we want the walking farms worthout acause that's just like like half of a

(26:30):
built wall and a guy sticking outof it. Yes, that would be
amazing. Yeah, and we wantto take the Celebration and it would be
the best costume of celebration. Yes, and just be in the background of
everybody's photos. Ye, So Celebrationtwenty twenty two, we might have a
fun costume for you all to see. So yeah, so maybody I like

(26:55):
because it reminds me again throwing backto the original series, there are so
many bloopers, oh yeah, seriesthat make it so you know, like
the like the storm trooper hitting hishead on the top of the doorway.
You just it's I love that stuff. I love that stuff, Harry,
and you know things like that.I obviously know why they edited it out,

(27:18):
just because it is so glaring, like a human like Earth person is
there, Like those are not spaceclothes. I get it, but it
was still very funny. I'm I'mjust absolutely shocked that that was missed.
Somebody got fired over this. Itfeels really bad about I hope no one
got fired, but they hope theygot like a stern talking to you saying,

(27:40):
hey, watch it. This thisis what happens when you pulled eaight
nighters, right, but yeah, you know they were like scrambling going oh
fuckuck fuck as soon as that newsbroke, which is very funny to me.
But so Mando jet packs off andhe goes and rescues the child.
Child wasn't in any danger. Uhand so uh, Cara, Grief and

(28:06):
Mythral are pinned down on a landingplatform. Um they do, and then
they get into like this troop transportthat has been covered so I believe it
was originally a Kenner action figure.Yeah, oh yeah, and then it

(28:30):
got reintroduced in rebels as cannon andnow it's an uh manda, which is
cool. So so it works likea landspeeder. It does not fly,
it floats, it hovers, andit can hold people on the inside and
outside as well. Yes, andit's it's kind of like a it's almost

(28:53):
like a tank because it's got it'sgot a large like rotating gun Jarrett at
the top of it. But theweird thing to me is why is it
open? Like why are there justopen pieces? Oh, why wouldn't you
have the whole thing armored? Yeah, I don't know. That's so it's

(29:18):
not a freaking postal truck. Whodesigned that? It doesn't need to be
permanently open. Yeah, it's soweird. I just think that's such a
bizarre design element. Yeah, becauseyou get like shot in there and they're
all dead. So that's that's avery fair as symple well exactly. And
I was like, oh shit, they're in trouble because they can't they literally
cannot take full cover. I justit baffles me from a military standpoint,

(29:42):
why this thing would have maybe justbecause like maybe they were doing repairs on
it and they took out the likewindshield of it. I don't know.
Yeah, maybe maybe it was drydock for a reason, So gonna assume
that maybe that was what sure questionsquestions, so questions, so we get

(30:07):
I think one of the coolest shotsof the episode, if not the coolest
shot, is them racing off thelanding pad and then being pursued by like
four or five Scout Troopers on speederbikes. And it's a really cool shot
at them going down the cliffs andlike three Scout Troopers are idiots and they

(30:29):
all crash and die, so it'sonly like two or three more left.
No, three Scout troopers are exactlylike anybody who would ever be on a
Scout Scout bike that would us.Those are so like I immediately was thrown
back to playing Battlefront and I waslike, yeah, no, that that
tracks. Oh I hate riding aspeeder bike and botle Front because I'm like,

(30:52):
this is going too fast. Idon't know what to do. Funny
enough, I'm really really good atthe speeder bikes. Nope, I am
not really good. I remember thatit's deep learning curve. It's very side
story. I remember one time Iwas playing it and I got on and
I was being pursued by someone. So I just hit the full you know

(31:15):
boost on it and I literally crashedinto like a stump, no more than
ten fee away from me. Itwas get on, it was get on,
power on go. Yeah. Hey, So when you were a kid,
did you ride your bike and totallypretend like you were on a speeder
bike? No? Oh, whatis wrong with you? You're not a

(31:38):
true Star Wars fan. No,that was me being ashamed of that.
I did that. Yes, Ohthat was that was one of my favorite
things to play as a kid wasto get on my bike with all of
my friends and to zip around theneighborhood and into the forest and and just
play full Return of the Jedi onspeed bikes. See, I did it

(31:59):
more so because I had one ofthose like mongoose speeders or not speeders,
mongoose uh like power uh scooters. So mine was like electronic fan so I
could you know, I could actuallylike it went I think like twenty five
miles an hour, so I couldactually like zoom and go fast. Well

(32:19):
that's crazy. No, I hada regular footpowered one. Oh, I
have one those two. But thenI was like I wanted something different,
and so maybe the firstborn grandchild.I got spoiled a lot by my grandparents,
and so they're like here, butI was never ungrateful. I was
every one of those spoiled brats. And don't think I was. I can
see all these people listening to judging. I believe it anyway. Okay,

(32:45):
so great pursuit episode. Yeah, yes, so they're a hot pursuit by
now, Like I think, likeI said, two speeder bikes instead of
like the whole company that was supposedto go down with them. God,
they were so dumb. One thing, they've never done this before, right,
and so they're taking them out andthen the building or the base at

(33:07):
this point is gonna it's blowing upfrom the inside. Uh. And so
I really also liked the shot ofthe tie fighters with their wings down and
everything, because that's such a coolshot of them taking off shot and it's
very cool. It's you don't seethat enough. And I really like that
they have tie fighters do that now, which is really cool. And so
yeah, now, I mean theythought so exactly, they thought they were

(33:30):
out of the you know, theythought they were good because they managed to
um out maneuver all the speeder bikes, which yeah, and then you know,
boom, tie fighters because of coursethere's tie fighters, Like how could
they, yeah, how could theynot think that there wouldn't be other means
of pursuing them. So yeah,so they're racing basically to get back to

(33:54):
uh, I don't know the town, the main town whatever it's called.
Um, And as soon as theyget there, boom, it's Mando and
the razorcrest. Razorcress has been repairedbecause as fast as it can get yeah,
as fast as it can get completelyscrewed up, they can repair it

(34:15):
evidently. So yeah, so's he'sin there with you know, the child
right next to him, popping cookiesin his mouth, and and Mando just
does some pretty incredible flying like thatwas awesome. Again, we have to
give it up to director Carl Weathershere for him envisioning this because it was

(34:37):
great, great aerial battle scene. It was. Yeah. Um we also
got some like the cutest I thinkbaby Yota moments and so far in the
season with yes this episode. Yeah, so he's he's strapped well, so
he's like, you're gonna strap in. So he's sitting behind him in his
little seat, challenging on the maconsand I mean he's pulling like all these

(35:01):
g's and you know it's not gonnawork twelve baby Yoda. But you see
a little baby on his hands. He's like his hands were going up like
a fucking roller coaster and I lostit. Oh yeah, it's like it's
so adorable, so we got itreminds me of when I used to drive
around. It was so cute.I used to drive around this little sports

(35:22):
car. It was the first carI had um when I had my first
kid, and she loved that thing. She's always like, well, I
remember your little dippy red car.Yes I do, I do remember that.
But we live around a really hillyarea, so we would go down
these really big steep hills and everytime we with you like it totally reminded

(35:45):
me of that I was super cute. But yeah, so he does he
does the does the tie fighters Uhturns around to be like, you know,
hey, that wasn't so bad. You're you're doing fine, right,
and the child just throws up good, just this blue, massive vomit.

(36:07):
And I love also because so you'rea parent, so you know the struggle
for this is trying to drive youreyes on the road. A kid throws
them the back and you're trying toclean it up with one hand behind your
back, your kids. No,God, see, no, I'm not
that dumb. I will pull over, i will smart, I'm not gonna
I'm not gonna die to clean up. But the fact that he turns,

(36:30):
he turns around and starts cleaning himup with his cape, it was super
adorable. It is so good. It's very cute. Let's gonna smell.
I forgot another really cute baby Yodamoment was in the very beginning when he
was trying to fix the ship withhim. Oh yeah, and the meme
goes, when you line your resumebut still get the job, yes exactly,

(36:52):
and like he's like take the bluewire, no, and don't touch
him. Make sure they don't touchand do this and the baby Yoda's like,
oh okay, and they touched them. He gets shocked and it's the
funniest thing ever. I was like, I was like, uh, Delilactic
CPS is not gonna want to hearabout this. No, you should not
let them hear about the No,no, no, no, no,

(37:13):
they're gonna please don't tell Usoka aboutthis. But uh so yeah, So
Amanda was like, hey, Ican't stay. Thanks for the repairs,
but I gotta go drop the kidoff at daycare now, So bye bye.
Yeah, pretty much. So heleaves, and the Rebel pilot from

(37:36):
episode two, Uh, he's takingabout some notes, going like, so
you the razor crest was here, you cannot confirm it. And now as
he goes, look our Nope, that was great. He's like, look,
he was like he was like FBIagent coming into some country town.
They're like nope, yeah, noI ever heard of it. What's a

(38:00):
razorcrest? Nope? I have noidea what you're talking about. And so
the pilot ends up talking to cardoone and when you text me her files
so he knows who she is.Yes, And when you text me this,
it was the funniest thing ever becauseso Chris text me after she watched

(38:21):
the episode. She's like, doesthe New Republic not have me like sensitivity
training at all? It was sobad? And so he's going that day
he goes, so I see youfrom all nor on. He goes,
would you end up losing? It'slike, uh, my apartment, who
do you lose? And I justI turned to my husband and I was

(38:42):
like, oh, my god, everybody. Can you imagine going up to
it like a fresh Holocaust survivor andbe like, oh, who did you
lose? Oh you don't do that, sir. Oh yeah, it reminds

(39:05):
me and that texted you. Ithink it's the scene in Mean Girls where
they go you can't just ask someonewhy they're white? Yes, well it
was. It was exactly like this. It was exactly like you can't just
ask somebody why from all like, what what happened to you? What happened
to your planet? Um? Theplanet went along with my stuff. Thank
you for reminding me of this.Thanks. And so, I mean he's

(39:29):
like, he meant, well,I join with us. Well there's other
ways of saying this though, there'slike many a different way of saying it.
Uh yeah, And so he like, is it a metal he gives
her? Right, yeah, hegives her. He gives her basically like
a special New Republic honorable. Idon't know, like like the metal of
Honor or something kind of thing.I don't know why why he's just carrying

(39:52):
around metals like, I don't know. That was really odd. It was
very odd. So he's like, hey, but you know, we could
use another per sending on the team, and so he leaves it for and
Cardoon deserves that metal, no question. Gina Crono does not. Yes,
yes, but this is a thisis an opportunity for them to write her

(40:12):
out because they can say, allright, well she decided to join back
with the New Republic and now wedon't see her anymore. I don't know,
I don't know. I sincerely doubtthey will, but it's a good
idea. Yes, yeah, sowhat would you give this episode? You

(40:34):
forgot the last bit? Oh fuck, it's super important. This episode had
like five different endings like Lord ofthe Rings, so I didn't know.
Yeah, there were there were severalfake out endings. Excuse me. Okay,
So finally we see uh moff Gideonon his ship which is an r
Quentin modified R Quentin and that shottotally reminiscent of episode four of the opening.

(41:00):
Yeah, yeah, very cool, very cool. And so we've seen
an Imperial officer, you know, tell him basically what happened and he is
hum basically like okay, well, you know, no matter if this is,

(41:22):
this will still work to our advantage, you know, basically blah blah
blah blah, and he is surroundedby racks and racks of these troopers,
and these troopers are now going tobe the new shadow Troopers from the EU.

(41:42):
Very cool. And for those whodon't know, shadow troopers are stormtroopers
basically infused with the dark side ofthe force and so they're not death troopers
like we saw in Rogue one,but they are for sensitive storm troopers basically
and really cool armor. Who's abig deal. It's really it's really ominous.

(42:06):
It was a very much blink andyou'll miss it kind of moment,
but very cool. Uh yeah,I quite enjoyed it. Uh, it
was very very fun. It meansalso, and we also know they put
a tracking device you forgot about that? Oh yeah, the tracking device on

(42:28):
the ship. So whenever they repairedthe ship in super fast time. They
also they dropped a tracking device onthe radio crest because why not, which
is super tropy, very very tropy, but it works. Yeah. You
know, you would think that therewould be like some kind of after market
tracking device detector that you could puton your ship, right that if you

(42:51):
were a wanted person you might wantto have on your ship. Like I
would think that would be a thing, like, oh, there's this on
know, unauthorized pinging coming from youknow, I don't know, coming off
the ship. It's not a it'snot one of ours, right, we
take care of that. I don'tknow. Seems it seems smart to me.

(43:19):
Whatever. Yeah, see, ifI were in the universe, I
could, I could, I couldinvent that, and I could be a
jillionaire A maze without question. UhSo now I can ask you what you
would rate this episode? Turn outof Dad. I freaking love this episode,
agreed, Yes, yeah, Ilove, love love this episode.

(43:39):
It was so well paced, itwas well written. There was a ton
going on, but it didn't feellike excessive. Um, it moved the
story, It built the it builtthe world. Um. There was great
character development, super cute the childmoments. Um, I loved it all.

(44:00):
It's awesome, it's great. It'sgreat. Yet for sure, um,
what about you? A tenetive?Despite Gina Krano being in this episode,
still ten to ten without question?Yeah? I mean for me,
it's like, okay, whatever, she filmed this before we knew she was

(44:20):
a terrible person, So right,as long as as long as they don't
keep using her now that we knowshe's a terrible person. It's fine,
which I don't know. I've seena bunch of videos attacking the Star Wars
people who are calling for her tobe fired. So it's a very slippery
slope. Please not attack us forour opinion. It's just an opinion,
guys. I don't I don't likefascists. I don't. I don't like

(44:45):
fascists. I don't fear that's fair. Also, don't like people who you
know, spread false and misinformation aboutmasks and COVID, So you know,
yep, there's that. I justlike good people. I like nice people,
good people. If you do thosethings, you're not a good person.

(45:06):
You're not a nice person. Nope. But enough on our and that's
not an opinion, that's a fact. Enough above, Enough of our personal
personal tangents. But yeah, tento ten great Car Weathers did a fantastic
job. Please have him direct morealong with like Bryce Tyllis Howard and you
know John Faberywine day for everyone.Yes, I love it. Very great

(45:27):
job. Um. So that's episodetwelve, and coming up, we're gonna
talk about episode thirteen. But beforethat, we're going to take another quick
little commercial break, and then we'llbe back to talk about all the goodness
of episode thirteen. So stay tune, guys, and we are back.

(45:52):
Um. So I'm not going toscream into the microphone like I did when
Bocaton, but holy fuck us inthis episode. Yeah, and well we
knew that was happening. Okay,So first of all, I want to
preface this with we all knew thiswas happening. I mean, like we've
been we've been talking about this fora year, and with everything that's happened

(46:14):
so far in the last few episodes, you know, with people we suspected
it would be on actually being on, and then with the confirmation that we
were looking for Asoka, we knewRosario Dawson was going to show up as
Asoka. Correct all that aside. If I didn't know that, do you
know how incredibly pissed off I wouldbe When a Friday working morning at six

(46:38):
am, I roll over and checkmy phone messages and literally all I did
was open up my phone and withinmy notifications was a pop up from Google
News that said Rosario Dawson makes surpriseappearance on the Mandalorian with a picture of
her as freaking Ahsoka. This wasmere hours after the after the show,

(47:00):
even streamed, like, why whoare these freaking idiots who are writing spoiler
titles for their articles like this?I'm sorry, but that's not journalism.
You're an idiot. You're an idiot. It really pissed me off. That's
like I said, yea, LuckilyI knew this was coming, but I

(47:22):
didn't want to see her, butuntil I saw her in the moment,
and now I have to Now Ihave to turn I had to completely turn
off my Google news Um notifications becauseI don't want it to happen again.
And it's like there's been minor spoilersbefore for other things, and it's just
dumb, like, come on,don't put a spoiler in an article.

(47:43):
So here's title, and here's mygolden rule, and how I follow,
at least how I do my Mandalorianviewing, which I know everyone does.
There's differently and you like to watchyours with your family and stuff like that,
but since I have no family towatch them with. Why I have
a family, but not you know, with them. And so what I
do is I, you know, get up my breakfast. I don't even

(48:07):
flip my phone around until I amdone watching in this episode, because here's
the thing I get, you know, being spoiled by the Google alerts.
You know that's that's not under yourcontrol. But people who gripe about being
spoiled when they go into social media, you guys got to have some kind
of inkling, like you should knowbetter not to be on social media before

(48:28):
you watch the episode. And Iget it's really do people well, I
get it's doocia people to still spoilit. I get that that's yes,
but you should still you know, put two and two together, and you
know people aren't not not going tospoil it, So just come to those
terms automatically because it's not going tohappen. So sorry, But yeah,

(48:49):
I don't check the phone. Idon't do anything. I literally make my
breakfast and turn on Disney Plus andI watch it. It's full glory,
and then I check Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, all those sites. Yeah,
sadly I don't have that option. No, And a lot of people
don't either. A lot of people, you know, are still mad that

(49:10):
you know, they got spoiled whenthey can't watch until Sunday. After four
day really pissed me off, let'ssee, But particularly for this weekend one
because it was such a huge thing. And two, because this was Thanksgiving
weekend, this show came out onBlack Friday. There are so many people
who have to work on Friday. They can't stay up late Thursday night to

(49:31):
watch it. They've got to workall day Friday. They might come home,
they might just be too damn tiredto watch a show or even pay
attention to it. So there's agood chance that they're not even going to
watch until Saturday. That's not fairto those people. That's totally reasonable that
people are watching it till Saturday. It's just not It's not right. I
also had a bunch of Supernatural stuffspoiled for me, and I'm a huge

(49:52):
Supernatural fan, so that really pissedme off. To anyway, well this
Friday, don't look at your phoneand until no social media until you can
watch this. Yes, well I'musually good about that, but now let
u my notifications off. I feellike I'm safe. So yes, um

(50:12):
but let's I mean so, firstoff, this episode, that's our little
that's our little soap box rant.So there's that. Um. So this
episode written and directed by Dave Filoni. Yes, which, of course it's
gonna be Dave's episode. It's calledthe Jedi. Um. And I gotta
say, comparing this episode to hisprevious two episodes I did in season one,

(50:39):
his directing style has changed. It'sbetter than one of the worst episodes.
It's entire series, agreed. Um. But um, so we jump
we we literally jump right into asoca and literally in the first like twenty

(51:02):
seconds. Yeah, I was totallynot expecting that. I was like,
Oh, we're just gonna you know, it'll build up to it. No
boom oh. As soon as youhear her light, Sabers screamed and I
got teary eyed. It was awesome. It was really awesome. Um.

(51:22):
Yeah, she's so weird to seethis character in the Flesh right. And
so she is cutting down all theseguards and these militia troops, and she's
a little bit darker in her fightingstyle in what we've be seen in like
the Clone Wars. Yeah, she'sa she seems to really have embraced the

(51:43):
whole great Jedi thing. Yes,And so she's cutting tree stumps in half
and throw them at people, andshe's jumps the wall. Um, she's
kind of like a batman in thatscene. Because did you notice that whenever
sure sabers Uh turned off that shehid into the mist. Yes, and

(52:05):
so she was very much Batman inthis episode, and I very much loved
it. Um. But let's she'sprobably like force coalescing the miss around her.
Um, let's let's talk about umthe actress who's playing her. Let's
let's talk about her real quick, shall we? Yeah? Alkay, So
it's it is Sorio Dawson. Itis what has been rumored for a year

(52:28):
now. Um, it's her.She looks great. Um for the most
part, I sit for them.Part. Wait, I'm gonna get to
that. Okay, I'm gonna getto that. Um. I like I
like the makeup. Um. Ido feel like I feel like she can
I feel like she can embody anolder um war hardened hiding out my people

(52:55):
who have been slaughtered version of Ahsoka. Yes, because she Asoka at this
point is in her I think, late late forties. Yeah, because she's
like, yeah, twenty at theend of the Clone Wars. So she's
eighteen. I thought she was twentyby the end of the Clone Wars.
I thought it was like a fiveyear well, I because she was fourteen

(53:20):
when she was fourteen when it started. So she's like eighteen nineteen win ms
Okay, yeah, well she's forties, mid mid late forties. Yes,
I think so, I think itbreaks two. She looked great except the

(53:43):
lake Oup Yeah, and the monoh Man. Yeah. So it just
okay, So I don't know ifyou saw us about about the concept one
of the concept designers, I think, or production artists, one of the
two. Just Twitter today, yeahtoday recently addressed it because the Internet has
been going crazy about it. Nuts. So the reason behind her shorter leaku

(54:06):
and shorter mantras with the montrose areon top. Those are her horns and
the liku are the ones that arehanging down. The reason because of that
is because of the fighting and thestunts and the performance of it, which
we all kind of figured that.Yeah, that's what we all think,
okay. So so basically what we'retalking about is the fact that if you
are familiar with Uska, if youwatch the Clone Wars, if you watch

(54:28):
Rebels, if you know any kindof artwork with Asoka, especially older Asoka,
they're much larger as her species ages, her leaku and her montreles get
larger. It's just it's what happens. It's how they mature. Hers are
not. They're much much much, much, much noticeably smaller, and everybody

(54:49):
there's almost the size of hers, like in like season three and four and
five of Clone Wars, it's liketeenage Asoka. Yeah, basically they're they're
very maybe teenagers or so good. It's kind of and it looks for I
mean it doesn't if you know nothingabout it, it doesn't look awkward,
but if you know so good tobe who she's supposed to be, it
looks weird. Um, yes,so yeah, so we were all figuring

(55:10):
it. It probably had something todo with being able to actually perform the
stunt choreography, and that was confirmedtoday. Um, but at the things
you have shot who was in Attackof the Clones and she's fighting on Genosis
and they're doing some fight scenes withher and stuff. So this is true.

(55:34):
But I mean, but that doesn'tmean that Rosario wasn't able to.
I mean basically it was Rosario couldn'tdo it. And I mean I get,
you know, obviously shocked. Hewasn't flipping around doing backcounts and stuff.
So yeah, yeah, um,but this is why this is why
CGI exists. You know, Ilove practical effects I love practical makeup,
but if we have the technology andyou're Disney, why wouldn't you do it?

(55:59):
Yeah, it doesn't even Maybe maybeI'll take this into consideration and maybe
have them a little bit longer ifwe do get to see her again.
Yeah, it's I don't know,It's an interesting and interesting choice that they
made, but otherwise it looks otherwise. She looks pretty, She looks pretty
great. I love her outvid.Oh do you just have like weird creases
on the lake? Who really weirdcreases? Do you know that too?

(56:22):
Yeah? I don't know if that'sjust because like of the or the material
they're made out of her if theywere supposed to look more lifelike with the
creases, but it was weird becauseI was trying to figure it out.
I was like, Okay, youknow, if if they're creases from where
they bend, like so they're likeliterally like old age wrinkles from usage,
it would be one thing. Butthey never bent at that point. Yeah.

(56:45):
I watched closely because it because itannoyed me. And no, they
never bent at the point where thosecreases were. Um, and so my
friends and I who we all arewell in YouTube we're we're all lake Who
owners, we're all broud Lego owners. We think it's because we think it's
because of what the material d usedum, and that they obviously should have
asked the the cost that community andnot the almost be like a foam Latex,

(57:09):
which I can see that happening.Yeah, I think it was from
Latex and not Silicon Um. Butyeah, Silicon doesn't necessarily do that,
but it could be. It couldbe some weird great at Silicon I don't
know. But no, she lookedgreat, Her eyes looked really pretty.
That the markings look great, wasbeautiful. Yes, we never seen her

(57:30):
in all black before, so thiswas very a different departure than We're very
very very much again, I thinkhow you know, we're into the gray
Jedi territory. She had mc hammerslash Aladdin pants were awesome. Um,
she had a great cloak uh andthen um let's I also love that she

(57:54):
wasn't necessarily trying to emulate Ashley xStein's voice, but she did sound a
lot like Asoka. It the theshe was hitting the right intonations. Yes,
so I would like to believe thatshe just binged the club wars.
Oh yeah, well and Austin.Rosario Dawson's obviously a fan of Asoka because
like two or three years ago,she said at a convention once that she

(58:16):
would love to play a live actionAsoka. Yeah, and she's a nerd
Rosario Dawsons. And so despite thecontroversy surrounding her, which I just actually
checked, those charges against her weredropped in August. Uh, some of
them, the ones against Rosario specificallywere dropped. Oh yeah, there's one

(58:38):
I think against her anyway. Idon't know what to make I thought Rosario
Dawson did a fantastic job as Asoka. I loved it. Yeah, I
loved it. I loved it.And you know, when when this first
came out that it was gonna beRosario for the controversy, we were all
on board because she's a she's afantastic actress, she's really cool, and

(58:59):
we all thought that she would ringvery something very interesting to the universe to
the to that character, and itcame to fruition. So oh yeah,
um, so let's talk about whoelse is in this episode real quick.
So we have Michael Bean as acharacter named Lange, And if that name
sounds familiar to you, he wasin Aliens, he was in Terminator.

(59:22):
Basically anything that James Cameron has donealmost he's been in. Yeah. Um,
and we have Diana Lee. I'mgonna say this last name completely wrong.
Uh Diana Lee. Uh in Nosanto, I believe as Morgan Elsbeth,
who is the h the magistrate,Yeah, magic, thank you. I

(59:46):
couldn't think of the word of mydictator person in the Dictator. Yeah,
the Magistrate. Um. I keptcalling Lange with it. I kept calling
him dan Gar like he had thisjust dang Gar vibe to me. I
don't know when she texted me Dangarwas in this. I was like,
where the fuck was Dangar he hadhe just had this like Dangar about the

(01:00:07):
bandages vibe to me. So that'smy head cannon. Uh, that's fair.
So basically, so this whole entireepisode, it's the Magistrate is has
information that Asoka wants and she isbasically, you know, going to kill

(01:00:30):
off her whole these people until Ahsokayou know, lays down her arms and
surrenders and whatnot. And so Mandocomes to town and you know, she
has this pure bestcar steel spear.Manda comes down specifically looking for Ahsoka,
but does not say that yet.Correct, And she's like, you kill

(01:00:52):
this Jedi. The spear is yours. And he's like, well, where
can I find this Jedi? Makemy job a whole lot easier. Just
tell me, tell me where sheis? Yeah, exactly, let me
just kill two birds with one stonehere, right, And so leaves goes
and finds ah Soca. We findout that best guard steel can block lightsabers.

(01:01:13):
Yes, so this is actually athrowback to expand a universe stuff.
There is there is this I mayhave been called best Part. I don't
remember. It's been a really longtime, but it's mentioned in the Throng
trilogy. So it was on Corresconand other places. People who could actually

(01:01:36):
afford this, who were like reallyreally high up, you know, high
ranking politicians and sovereigns and whatnot whoneeded protection had their doors built out of
this material because it could stop lightsabers. Hm. So I thought that was
an interesting call back to that.Interesting. Yeah. They keep they keep

(01:02:01):
picking up like little bitsy little bitshere and there from the expanded universe.
It's nice to see. It's niceto see. Oh yeah, um,
so you know he says that Bocatonhas sent him, and she's like,
well, I hope was to talkabout this little guy, and so she
communicates the force with Baby Yoda. But now we can no longer call him

(01:02:22):
baby Yoda because we find out hisname is Grogu. Grogu not Goku.
I literally, So I texted herand I was like, did anyone else
think this was Goku? Did I? Because I post on a messaging board
too, and everyone those people werelike yeah, A few people were like,
we thought it was Goku as well. I'm like, okay, I'm

(01:02:43):
glad I'm not the only one.Yeah. No, I had to pause
it and rewind it four or fivetimes to hear what the hell she was
saying. And of the course it'spronunciation where he introduces the child's name.
Of course it's gonna be Dave's episode. Yeah, so this has been around
for a while. Um, therewas there was actually a Reddit comment in

(01:03:05):
a Reddit thread on the Mandalorian,like a few months ago, I don't
know, three or four months agoor somebody where somebody's claimed that this was
the name of the child, thatthey had found this out from. Yes,
that they had found this out froma like a friend or a family
member or somebody who was a stuntperson on the show and said that they
told them that the child's name wasGrogu. So see that. Yeah,

(01:03:30):
So whoever this person was, Iwonder if they got in trouble because that's
a huge that's a huge yeah huh. Well, so we do find out
a little bit of backstory on Groguas well. It turned out that he
was trained on the Jedi Temple onCorressant. Yes, he was being raised

(01:03:51):
on the Jedi Temple like as aas a young ling, and he was
trained by many masters, and hewas there when Order sixty six took place.
Yeah, some unknown Jedi got himand spirited him, spirited him away,
and then things kind of go darkfor him after that, Like he
doesn't really remember. I think he'sget some PTSD. Oh yeah, yeah,

(01:04:13):
well obviously, so it's interesting thathe may very well have witnessed Anakin
slaughtering younglings. Do you think thathe doesn't talk because he has PTSD?
It's possible. I mean it's sohard to tell with like what age he's
supposed to be and developmentally where heis. You know, it's because he

(01:04:38):
does. He very much seems likea like a toddler, like around a
one year old, um, whoyou would expect to have a few words,
right, Um. But we don'tknow how this race develops. We
don't know how they move through youknow, developmental milestones. So it's really
hard. And the fact that shewas talking about how he'd been trained for
several with several masters also it makesme question the whole developmental saga of this

(01:05:05):
particular species because fifty years is kindof it's not that long. But if
he's a baby, he's still likea one year old at fifty what were
all these previous masters doing other thanlike changing diapers using the force? Like,
just how do you how do youtrain a baby? How do you

(01:05:26):
train a literal infant? Because fiftyyears ago, twenty years ago, he
was probably a literal infant. Itdoesn't I don't know, there's some there's
some wonky timeline things that I kindof wonder how much they've thought this through.
Right, it's I'm sure we'll getmore explanation with that, But it
is cool to know that he wasthere going to Clone war and he was

(01:05:47):
there during yeah, for our sixtysix And I want to know who that
Jedi was that spirit him that liketook him away. But and how did
she not know because she would havebeen she would have been in a young
ling when he was a young ling. Well maybe they never had any classes
together. I don't know, theydidn't have the same class casual. It's

(01:06:08):
fine, they saw like if they'repassing in the hall. And that was
this jedire like, oh, wedon't all know each other. Du um.
So this whole episode is basically youknow, Aska saying, hey,
I cannot train him because yeah,so she tries to pull she tries to
pull a few things. She's like, let me, you know, let

(01:06:30):
me test him. And he basicallyhe won't listen to her. No,
he won't listen to her, buthe'll listen Tomando. And so she says,
Okay, he's very attached to youand he will listen to you.
And that's not a good thing, correct, That's attachment and that cannot be
happening for a Jedi. Yeah.Uh. And because she even she mentions,

(01:06:55):
you know, anakin, the factthat you know, I've seen,
you know, what our presence cando to h the best of us,
to a Jedi night, to aJedi master. And so yeah, that
was a really sad callback. Um. It's just it's so interesting to me
that this idea of not having attachments, you know, for Jedis are supposed
to be raised from a very veryvery young age. How do they function

(01:07:19):
without attachments. It's it's literally arequirement of development. You have to develop,
you have to have attachments, otherwiseyour brain doesn't function correctly. It's
so weird, it really isn't Itreally makes you question the Jedi because that's
like, that's that's not good. That's not good guy. You guys are

(01:07:42):
not making some nice choices here, not not the best choice in the world.
Um. Yes, they're just lettingall the Jedi youngling babies cry in
their cribs. They're like, nah, let them cry it out, let
them cry it out. Uh.So yes, so that can't train Grogu.
Um but uh you know he's like, hey, I will help you,

(01:08:06):
you know, take out this magistrateand take out you know, this
force in this town. And sothey do a little team up. Um
Ahsoka kicks so much ass, ohmy god, so much. As the
stunt work on this U episode wasgreat, and I've noticed that in the
previous two episodes that Dave directed. He didn't really have a lot of stunt

(01:08:28):
work in those two episodes, sothis was a very stunt heavy episode for
him. I do feel like heis still learning the craft of directing live
action. You know, it's notit's not quite up to par with the
other directors. But I do feellike he'll get he'll get his footing,
He'll find his footing. Oh yeah, it's getting there. It's getting there.

(01:08:49):
Um. So basically, you know, they get into town and they
are pursued Asoka is pursued by theI guess human guards and some attack droid
guards. And what do you know, those attack droid guards are the same
droid models as from the Old Republic, the hks. I don't know.

(01:09:12):
I didn't know that. That's cool. Yeah. They also someone who's found
this on Twitter. On the helmetof the droids, it has the insignia
of Thron's seventh Fleet. Interestingly,Yeah, clearly he has a presence,
which we'll talk about a little bitas well. Uh uh. They what

(01:09:34):
I really liked about just visually thiswhole thing. You know, we've gone
from these wild West outer worlds tothis episode very much had a kind of
curse Owa feudal Japan, and itwas beautiful, so beautiful. Well it's
especially with you know, the settingof the magistrates. I guess this whatever

(01:10:01):
because on side trees you get theselike koi ponds, you get you know,
it's very a Japanese influence. Itwas very, very pretty. Her
fighting style was very Asian influenced her. The dress was very Asian influenced.
Um, because one of the actresswho plays Morgan, she will not only

(01:10:21):
that, but she's also a martialartist. Yeah. Well, and you
can tell just by the way shemoved. Oh yeah. Um. The
one quotake I had for her characterdesign is that I could totally, like
four or five shots, I couldjust like directly see the lace on her
way and I was like, oh, someone fixed that, please? Yeah,
that let her. That was theway. It was a questionable question.

(01:10:45):
I love the style. Love it, like she has the buns in
the back. I love that wasbeautiful, gorgeous. I don't know if
it's because I've caused played so manytimes. I have lace fronts, but
like I can just see, likeI can now clock someone's lace on like
a TV show, but it's notwounded in properly I'm like, oh,
absolutely no. I've been watching I'vebeen rewatching thirty Rock, and there's this
one character that's on now, andI'm like, oh my god, I

(01:11:06):
never even realized before that she's wearinga wig, and now that I see
it, it's not even a goodwig. Yeah, how did I never
seen this before? You think aboutbeing cause players, it's, yeah,
a curse of a coustler or adragon meaner anybody who works with anybody who
works with a lot of wigs.Yes, anyway, So basically they go

(01:11:30):
to the final showdown between yes,Ahsoka best Morgan, and Mando shoots uh
uh yeah he shoots, not dangerum, and so Ahsoka, you know,
basically, you know, says where'syour master? Where is Grand Admiral

(01:11:50):
thrown? When she said that, and I gasped, I gasp, and
I hate it because nobody else inmy household you the hell they were they
were talking about like crap, dangit, nobody's read the books and rotted
rebels except me. This means thatshe is still on her quest to find
Ezra was Sabine Yes, So Iam hoping that they're really trying to set

(01:12:15):
this up as a spinoff in thesearch for Ezra and Thrown and we get
all these we get oh and thenI'm like, I'm just gonna start fancasting
and it's gonna be amazing. Ohlive action Thrown is like, oh my
god, I can only get sohard. My version for a live action
sab mean would be Jamie Chung.Oh yeah, so yeah, that's that's

(01:12:43):
my casting anyway. Um so yeah, she names drops Thrown and I'm just
like, holy fucking shit. SoI know. Ah, and it does
something. There's a huge debate rightnow, people on the twitters saying,
oh, well, I don't haveto watch Clone Wars rebels to understand Mandalorian,

(01:13:03):
you're kinda do Did you do ithelp give a lot? Oh?
Yeah, yeah. There was definitelya lot of people and everything. I
saw people going when um Bocaton wasrevealed, they go, who's this lady
Mando And they're like, who exactlywho is? Like if you all watch

(01:13:25):
the shows, you wouldn't know thesequestions, So do your homework. Yeah,
I mean, the Clone Wars arealmost more important than the prequels.
Now he's the day watch all theClone Wars episodes. There's a there's a
chart going around right now. That'sthere's a definitive to watch. Yeah,
yeah, there's a in fact thatthere's a there's a there. Well,

(01:13:47):
there was a playlist. They don'tknow if it's on there anymore. There
was a playlist on um Disney Plusthat had like the major episodes that you
could go through that. Yeah,so you just do that and you'd be
fine. Yes, But people goinglike, oh, I don't have to
watch Rebels. It's you know,it was a kids show, so I
never watched it. Well, you'regonna be super lost. Yeah, it

(01:14:10):
was a kid's show in the sameway the Star Wars is for kids the
movies. I mean, it's entertaining, it's it's kind of it's not just
for kids. It's true for allwatch Rebels, and if you watch Clone
Wars, you will give a verybig payout, trust me. Yeah.
Anyway, that name drops, soshe wins. I kind of hope that
a little bit because with that namedrop, because I'm like, oh,

(01:14:33):
there's always just a possibility if wecould get maybe something just even remotely marrage
aide, just just baby something, just throw me a bone here. Wouldn't
that be something? If you showedthe season right, just come on,
people, come on, who wouldyou want to play a live action marrage
aide? Oh? I have noidea. Oh at this point, I

(01:14:56):
don't know because she's supposed to beolder, right yeah, and this time
all right? I mean she wouldshe would be like U, she'd be
like Ahsoka's age, so in herforties. Oh yeah, more or less,
maybe a little bit older than Ahsoka. What wouldn't she be younger though,
because she doesn't make loop until thistime period. Anyway, I think,

(01:15:20):
uh, my my pick for liveaction Julian or my my version for
a live action a mar Jo wouldbe Jillian Anderson. That would be amazing.
She's a little old now for thistime period, but she is freaking
gorgeous and that would be fine.Um, so I'm available. I'm just

(01:15:42):
throwing that out there. Yeah, you are a model for so you know
I volunteers Tribute. Yes, Iwill volunteer you as well for Tribute.
Uh so yeah? So Ahsoka, you know, Mano was about to give
her Grogu and she's like, listen, we can't do this exchange, sir,

(01:16:04):
I'm so sorry. Ah and soshe tells him though, that take
the child to the ruins of aJedi temple on Tython and Tithon, if
I remember correctly, as I believea planet in the Old Republic where the
Jedi were like huge, Yeah,it did sound familiar, but I meant

(01:16:28):
to look it up and then Ididn't. So basically, she says,
place Grego on the top of theseeing Stone in the temple, and he
can call out to another Jedi, hopefully to the Force, and he will
choose his path either to become aJedi or you know, stick with you.
Almost. I feel like there's alot to put on the shoulders of

(01:16:48):
this toddler. So the big thingis who's he going to call out to?
Who's going to answer the call?As rebel answer the call, people
are thinking it's either Ezra or uh. People are also thinking there's a rumor
going around that a certain Jedi witha purple lightsaber might show up at the
very end. Jedi with a whatpurple lightsaber? Oh, purple lightser?

(01:17:15):
Uh he survived his his brush withthe Chancellor true? So yeah, yeah,
Well, I was discussing this earlierwith Lydia, like how Ahsoka and
Luke have have had to have metup. There's no way, there's no

(01:17:36):
way that they couldn't know about eachother right now, A sorry, right
now, no one has said anything. No one has confirmed they've met yet,
which is yeah, I don't know. I can't see how they wouldn't
be meeting eventually or no of eachother, because one, there's not that

(01:17:58):
many and to look, it wasn'tthat hard to find Aska, Like literally
this Rando Mando is just asking aboutJedi and literally, oh, yeah,
she's over there, go get her, so right Yeah, and especially you
know now that the Empire is downand they're becoming more active again, those
that were in hiding. I justfeel like there's no way that she would

(01:18:23):
not be on Luke's radar the fairway. So it'll be interesting to see
how that plays out. Yeah.Um. And then finally she just you
know, we had this ending shotof her walking away the the music plays.
We have her theme playing throughout thiswhole episode, which is beautifully done.

(01:18:45):
Um, and that's it. Theend. So in lock Cat,
lock Cat, lock Cat, lothCat. Oh, there's lock Cat and
her and her um out to themore more. Yeah was there as well?
Pretty sure, pretty sure, verymuch a data every time the loft

(01:19:09):
gat came on. I was like, look a look at I think.
I think my husband things. Ihave Star Wars staurants. So what would
you give this episode? Is itgonna be a ten out of ten?
Because it's a ten out of ten? Yeah, I mean it's huge.
It was huge. Like I said, I loved it. I loved it.
Visually it wasn't It wasn't quite asIt was a different kind of exciting

(01:19:33):
than twelve was, you know whatI mean? Like there was definitely action,
but it wasn't the same kind ofaction. It wasn't the same kind
of like action movie action. No, it was more like this is a
cool Ninja movie action kind of thing. Yeah. Yeah, choreography was awesome,

(01:19:54):
costumes were awesome. Um, itabsolutely makes sense that she would just
be like, yeah, I can'ttake I can't take him on, I
can't take I can't do this, because you would think that she has got
a massive amount of PTSD from dealingwith the Clone Wars and from Anakin turning.
And I mean, we don't youknow, as far as you know

(01:20:15):
he died evil, we don't knowif she knows that he turned back.
Yeah, we don't know she knowsthat there was ever redemption for him,
because we don't know if she's evermet up with Luke or she ever will,
so it is it is very withinher character, I think, to
just say I can't do this.I'm not the right person for this.

(01:20:35):
I agree. Um yeah, Ithought it was great. I loved it
all. I cannot say enough goodthings about this episode. I really can't
very much enjoyed it. Can't waitto see where it's going next. Uh.
So that wrapped us up here, guys, Um what a whirlwind.

(01:20:56):
It was a long episode, butwe needed to be this long because we
had a lot to talk about.Oh yeah, two big episodes, two
big episen Sam. Yes, thereare only three episodes left after this one
comes out, so we may doall three episodes and one. We may
do two, and then the finaleas just one big long episode. I
don't know yet. We're still decidingthat so yeah. Yeah. But in
