we're talking about episode two and episodethree of The Mandalorian. Both great in
their own rights, but I thinkwe like episode three better. I think

like episode three better than episode two? Yeah. I mean I hate to
say that I have a favorite child, but clearly I have a favorite child.
Yeah, it's the third one rightnow, at least at before we
do that, we got a littlebit of news. Let's start with the

cherry stuff first. Yes, yes, yeah, So Hasbro has officially announced
new Black Series figures, and they'vefinally announced that they're doing a massage of
interest Black Series figure. She's beautiful. After years of fans like clamoring and
saying they want this, they're finallygetting it. It's gonna be great.

Oh. I was so happy tofinally see this because I'm like, oh,
good, they're actually recognizing this charactermore. Yeah. I think it's
one I might have to add tomy collection. Agreed not buy so many
figures, but I'm like, well, now we just need her as a

fun copop and then everything will befine. Everything will be fine and dandy.
So, um, go to theHasbro Instagram page and they've shown off
a bunch of the new figures.There's like a muf Gideon, there's um
new Stormtroopers. I believe there's aJawa I think or something. I don't

know. But one that obviously wecare about is the Interest figure. Everything
else can burn in a fire,we don't care. Um, it's whatever.
Um. We know that jawas arevery flammable from episode four, so
this is true. Yeah. Um. And and other news, oh oh

if you listened to our rumors andum gossip episode about the Mandalorian them,
this is this kind of ties backinto that, circling back a bit here.
Um. So our our our dear, dear, dear dear Gina Corno

got herself in hot water her againbecause the woman can't keep her mouth shut.
Nope. Um, And she announcedon her Twitter she has joined parlor.
And for those of you not inthe in the social media pop culture.

obviously, you know, on theliberal side. Clearly I'm super progressive,
but you know, we also youknow, respect the back. People can

necessarily, but like, hmm,here's the thing, you know what,
I'm I'm happy that people feel thefreedom to say these things because I like

Do you think that they put thebrakes on the Cardoon solo series?
Oh, I would assume, Yeah, I would assume. I think the
only reason that we're getting her nowis because they'd already filmed everything before the
initial Yeah, she came out.Season two had already been filmed for a

now or very very soon. Yeah. So I don't know. I wouldn't
expect, you know, I wouldn't. I wouldn't be surprised if rewrites came

mean it sucks because, like wesaid before, we liked the character of
Cardoon, like the character. Iliked her. I liked Gina Corono.
I think she know, she hada cool in career. Um, she
represented a different type of um femininitythat you didn't really see very often in
Hollywood. M So this really sucks. It just it sucks that she's not
a great person. Yeah, it'ssad, Yeah, but it is what

two, shall we. Yes.This episode was directed by Peyton Read and
it was fantastic. It was veryit was very enjoyable. It was a
wild ride, and you know,of all the random episodes to become super

controversial, this was the one.This was the one. This is the
one. And suddenly everybody's on thehate baby Yoda trade, which is ridiculous,
And we'll get to that. Trustme, we we're gonna fully discuss
that. Um but let's let's talkabout this episode. Let's talk about what

we like. So I'm gonna letyou go first. So this is a
very um kind of insular episode.Like, there's not a lot of there's
not a lot of set differences.You know, it kind of happens and
only really in like three places.So you know, we intro and tattooin
and then we're on the ship,and then we're on another planet. Um,
(11:37):
and we're back in the ship.So there's not a lot. Uh,
there's not a lot going on asin like going places the way we
did in the very first episode.Um, we're back. We're back in
less eyes lea um and um Mandois still looking for more of his kind
(11:58):
and so he's asking, he's askingaround and um Amy Sadaras has she said
she has intel on this. Butbasically he's going to have to like do
her a favor, um by transportingthis woman who needs to get to another
planet for reasons. Um. Andshe's very she's very trusting. She trust

her a whole lot, right,super trustful. Uma. Yes, he
becomes an uber. Yes, ohmy god, that's totally what it is.
It's Razor Christ uber. Uh.So he we meet this woman who
is like, um, I don'tknow, like the fire spirit from Frozen
two giant in giant anamorph form.She's like a gecko. She's a gecko,

and she's adorable, and she doesnot speak basic. She understands it,
but she doesn't speak it. Also, Amy Sadara speaks whatever crazy gecko
language this Dico person r, whichwas really entertaining. Um. So,
her whole deal is that she hasa spouse on a nearby planet and she

has to get her eggs that she'skeeping in this little fish tank to her
spouse so that he can fertilize them, otherwise their line will in um and
and she's she's on a time crunch, and the caveat to him taking her
there is that they cannot enter hyperspacecorrect correct grows the eggs like explode or
(13:35):
something like that. Yeah, becauseyeah at um uh sublight speed, I
believe speed. Um. But shesays that her husband knows of other Mandalorians
on this planet. They're so okay. So Mando's all in, like this
(13:58):
is crazy whatever, but he's allinto being an uber driver. Um it's
uber driver, which is hilarious.Yes, all right, why do you
pick up from there? So he'she's in this, he's in the space.
He's he's zoomed, he's zooming alongand all of a sudden, he
is being tailed by two New RepublicX Wing fighters. Yes, and uh,

we don't really get to see whothey are, just yeah, we
just hear um uh commotion. Youknow. They're they're saying, hey,
why isn't hear a transponder on What'swhat's going on, sir? And he's
like, oh, um, myship is old, Yeah, to old.
(14:45):
We meant to do that. I'llget that tail I fixed project it
basically is what it is. Uhhe uh It's like yeah, I'll get
it fixed. Like, well youcan fix it now, and he's like
okay, sure. It's like thepolice officer being like, well, I'll
(15:09):
follow you to the gas station andyou can fix it there, right.
Um. So we find out thatthe X Wing pilots are they're played by
gentleman by the name of Paul's son, Hung Lee as Captain Carson Teva.
And we have our very own DaveFiloni coming back as Trapper Wolf. That
(15:31):
was so cool, and he doesn'tlook nearly as uncomfortable as he does in
season one when he's acting, sohe looks way better. Yeah, but
it was it was really exciting tosee a couple of X Wings pull up
all badass, you know, likewe we run this mother now. Yeah,
And so basically they're saying, youknow, you're in a New Republic
(15:52):
territory, you gotta have a transponderon. And Mendo's like fuck you,
and so he zooms down and crashesinto an ice cavern, I guess is
what you would call it, uh, trying to evade the X wings,
and he's like, well, dowe know what planet is? By the
way, yeah, it's so apparentlyit's the same ice plant that we saw
(16:14):
in season one in the very firstepisode. Oh really interesting. Yeah,
that's what I've read. I don'tknow if that's actually true, nap,
but that's apparently what it is.It's not Illam as everyone thought it was.
It's not Illam and it's not no, it's it's a new ice planet.
People, there's another ice planet.Um. So he crashed lands and

he's like, hey, sorry aboutthat. But at the same time he
finds out um baby is doing thatsome nice stuff. Oh yeah. So
meanwhile, well they're like nap okay, because you know, they're going sublight
speed and stuff, right, Sothey're napping and they're trying to you know,
make the time pass. Well,we know that baby Yoda is a

carnivore and he is insatiable. Um, so he sees this aquarium full of
some tasty snacks, like baby Yoda'sdown to get some space caviar. So
and he eats a lot of them. Yeah. So when he's when nobody
else is looking, he's just sittingthere and he's just popping him in his
(17:18):
mouth like a bunch of pringles.Yeah and uh clear. So this is
what everyone like flips it about becausethey're like, he's eating their line he's
eating their lineage, which is true, he is, he is. But
also don't forget that these eggs areunfertilized, much like you know chicken eggs
that we eat, they're unfertilised.So it's literally like space caviar. It's
(17:40):
literally like eating caviar. Two,he's a toddler, and just like my
toddler, if he finds shit onthe ground, he's going to eat it
because that's what toddlers do. Theyare insane. Uh yeah. So people
are like they're saying they're can't babyYoda, And I'm like, no,

you're not. You're not gonna shutup. You're you're not canceling Baby Yoda,
but okay, I thought it was. And we actually, uh had
a pole up about this, Yes, and overwhelmingly people have voted that people
are far too sensitive. Yes,like fine, guys, but come on,

come on. It tied for he'sa killer and it's like eating chicken
eggs. But those two t eggsI kind of I kind of wanted to
play he's a killer, he's amurderer just because it was funny. But
he's not. But like the factthat Luke Stombe had to address this is
very sad because people are far toosensitive. Yeah, no, okay,

guys. You can be upset aboutGinakarano being an asshole, which you can't
be upset about Baby Yoda eating caviar. I'm sorry, right, yeah,
just know so um pick one folks, and so he uh, it's it's

ridiculous that Lucasfilm also had to likecome in and be like, hey,
we want it. It's you know, dark humor, and that's what I
loved about it. It's really fuckedup dark humor and it's got me.
Yeah, he's just popping the leftand right, just like eggs, and
he's a growing growing child. Soboy, you're growing bravery short, make
chance? Um. But yeah,So they crash land and h Basically he's
(19:37):
like, I gotta try and fixthe ship, and the little frog Lady's
like, all right, I'm gonnago hop in hot spring. Yeah okay,
See the ship is just decimated,like gaping holes. It's freezing cold.
Also, by the way, howlucky are they that they crashed on
a planet that has atmosphere that theycan freeze? Right, I mean that's
(19:59):
a four sluck there? Yes,so here you you you continue because this
is okay. Yeah. So she'syou know, everybody's freezing. She's a
gecko. It's got to be evenworse for her and her you know,
and her little aquarium of caviar soher caviar children. So she wanders off
(20:21):
into this frozen cave and somehow managesto find a hot spring. Again really
lucky. So she you know,disrobes and we have naked gecko, naked
gecko space lady in the hot springwith her babies that she's poured out into
(20:41):
the hot spring and she's all relaxing. Um. And so Mano comes over
and he finds her and he's like, yeah, this is not cool.
Yeah, yeah, we gotta wegotta go get your babies. We gotta
go. You put your clothes onnow. So the child is off,
(21:02):
you know, being the child.You know, he's eye he's eyeing the
floating caveat in the hot springs,and Mando's like, don't even don't even
think about it, don't do that, right. We wonder that he's been
eating the eggs, like Mando knows, but she does not know that he
has been eating. So child wondersoff and he finds himself in like some
(21:22):
sky Rim style dungeon with a bunchof other egg looking things, um,
which immediately had like red flags andwarning bills going off in my head because
the immense amount of video games I'veplayed in my life. It reminded me
very much actually of the movie Aliensand similar yep, very similar to that.
(21:42):
Yeah, uma, And they wereall quite clustered together and stuff like
that. Yeah. Uh So wetapped in one and it was all gooey
yucky and you know, like athing inside. And this is when it's
revealed that it is a giant freakingice planet spider and these were all her
babies. People were very triggered bythis episode. I basically did not watch
(22:07):
this episode after this point, couldyou really not? Yeah? No,
I had to. I had tolook away. I am super triggered by
spiders. I do not like spiders. Oh well, the only spider I
can handle is a tarantula because theyare fuzzy and cute and that's it.
Every other spider can fuck off killit with fire. So well, then
(22:29):
I guess I'll take over. Thenshall please take over? Because I don't
actually know completely what happened? So, oh my god, this is hilarious.
So basically at the Mama and I'massuming the Papa Spider, which,
by the way, these spiders theyare concept designs from what Ralph mcquarie did
for spiders on Dagoba Yea and Empire, and they actually became cannon again when
(22:52):
they were on the show Rebels Rebels. They had them in from there for
I can think of episode or twoas Rare controls them with the forest or
whatever he does. So to seethem though on an ice planet is really
cool. So they based so basicallyall the eggs hatch and that's just I'm
very glad he didn't watch this becauseyou would have been traumatized because the spiders
(23:15):
just like swarm everyone. Oh god, yeah, and the big the big
spiders come down, crashing down fromthe ceiling basically and start chasing after Mando
and get go and baby, which, by the way, one of the
funniest things is Mando is saying,hey, we gotta go, and then
the Gega lady using her tongue toget the clothes and not like ten seconds
(23:37):
later coming back fully dressed and likewrapped up. I'm like, oh,
yeah, that was hilarious. Iwas like, damn, she's a master
of the quick chase. That's veryquick, man. But anyway, so
they're running, Mando at one pointuses his flamethrower to torch them all.
He kills I think one, Ithink he kills one adult spider, but
then like the other one starts attackingthem, and then all the babies get
(24:00):
inside the razorcrest, so he's basicallyseals himself off and he steals them up
and the the cockpit. Yeah,and he thinks they're safe eventually, but
then like the big mom and spidercomes crashing down, breaking the glass of
(24:22):
the cockpit and basically almost eating everyoneuntil all of a sudden you hear all
this blast or fire and you're like, what doubt that's be what is that?
And so it turns out the twoX wings found them and they are
parked and the pilots are out therejust taking potshots at all the spiders.
(24:48):
Now how bored were they that theystuck around? Probably very bored here,
super bored. They've been patrolling forweeks and been like, damn it,
nothing happens out here. Something ithappens, and we are not letting it
go. Yeah, and so itwas fun also seeing Dave Filoni shoot a
spiders. Yes, it was veryfunny. Uh So finally, you know,
(25:11):
Mando's like, okay, well canyou help me patch the ship?
They go, no, but youcan. You can fix that transponder and
they just love the fuck off yeahbasically, and I'm like, oh,
hockay, yeah, So so howdid he fix it? He so he
didn't fix it, that's the thing. He goes, Okay, well,
(25:33):
I can pressurize the cabin to whereit can just be us in here and
we can just drift basically to theplanet. But I thought they were in
I thought they were in the cockpit. When they land on the next planet,
they are so and they that's howthey stay in there. They can
only stay in the cockpit because everythingelse is wide open and torn open,
(25:55):
so they can't go inside. Ithought the spider, the giant spider,
had broken the glass in the cockpit. I guess he must have packed that
at least. No, you're notokay, Well, but how did you
do that? How does he haveall the supplies to do this? How
is he even fly? I don'tknow. Honestly, the Razorcrest takes a
huge beating, like within like anhour of each like it's this poor ship.
(26:21):
I don't know. I don't understandwhy he wouldn't just be like,
bye bye, I'm gonna I'm gonnabuy an new shap now, because I
mean, is there is an equivalentof space totaled? Because I'm pretty sure
the orre can you write it offon your spacecraft insurance and just buy a
(26:41):
new Razorcrest. That would be fantasticif they could. But yeah, no,
it's totally totaled. I'm total.I'm just I'm so incredulous about how
this thing is even able to fly. It well, it even makes it
even funnier with how it got repairedin episode three, because that just makes
me laugh. Oh my god,I know, yeah, and we'll get
to that. Um. So basically, yeah, he takes off begrudgingly and
(27:04):
very carefully, and they start todrift slowly towards the planet with get Go
ladies. Husband, Yes, andlittle baby Yoda is on Mando's lap and
they just panned to him and he'sjust sitting there and then all of a
sudden, everyone who was sleeping yethe just has his little hand and slowly
(27:25):
comes up and there's an egg andhe goes all an interest yeah, and
then credits. I'm like, ohmy god, they tripled down on that.
Yeah. Like, like you said, this episode didn't really move the
(27:45):
plot along a whole lot, butit was still a fun episode until the
space I mean, you know,like we talk about a lot, this
series is very much world building andcharacter building, which as an episodic adventure
series based in the Star Wars universe, it absolutely should be, you know.
I mean, this is like,you know, it's like live action
Clone Wars. Here, we're goingto get episodes that don't necessarily move the
(28:08):
plot, but do give us alot more information about the universe that we're
playing in. And the characters thatoccupy that universe, and I'm all for
that. Is it, you know, necessarily as exciting as say Episode one
and three were, no, butit's still fun. Yeah, I liked
(28:29):
it. I liked also the setdesign for this, the ice caverns,
the it was very fun. Itwas I was terrifying enough that I did
not watch half of the episode.And like I said, this episode was
directed by Payton Read, who didthe first who actually did both of the
ant Man movies. Oh cool,so we got some MCU directorial debut.
(28:51):
And besides, ta you not havePeyton Read so well and John Papper.
I guess so you have three nowtechnically yes, So what would you give
episode two? Um? Like Alike A five? I just I think
I'm I think I'm kind of biasedbecause of the spiders because it really really
(29:14):
hate spiders. That's not their fault. It's not their fault. But yeah,
five. You know, good worldbuilding, you know, more more
characterization of um of Mando. Youknow, he's pretty, he puts himself
on a path, he agrees todo something, and then he will see
it through, come hell or highwater, he will see it through.

That's very true. It's very commendableof him. Yes, Um, I
would give this episode probably seven outof ten because the spires, the spiders
didn't really bother me that much withoutthey were kind of a cool design.
And look, now, if Iwere to see one of those of your
life, I would be scared shitless, but they don't really exist. So
(29:57):
um. And also I love thefact that if you go to distrol everyone
in eight eggs, that's the bestpart of the episode. Oh. Also,
we forgot to mention that Richard Aodecomes back as the droid bounty hunter
from the first one when she shewanted to communicate with Mando with him,

I don't remember that, but okay, so I forgot to mention that that
he comes back as well for abrief little cameo. And it's always good
to see him and stuff because Ilike him. Okay, So that wraps
up episode two and we're going totake another short little break and we come
back we will discuss episode three,So stay tuned, guys. All right,

so we are on to episode three. Um, this is a huge
episode, huge episode three. Excuseme? That was Yeah? Was that
was that premature? Exactly? Yeah? You kind of prematurely over that episode,

episode that I love you. Weren'teven the two big things that happened in
this episode. There was just abunch of stuff that I loved. Oh

of the ship as they as theyre enter, and it's it's so cool,
it's so cool. So that wasa really nice cinema to cinemagraphic nod
um to cinema history and to familyrelations between the Howards. Um. Very
cool. So obviously they do makeit onto what appears to be like mostly
a water planet, so like afisherman's wharf basically. Yeah, yeah,

so they basically they come into likeNew England, not in New England.

land on this they land in NewEngland, they land in space New England
where there's a bunch of montcoal Marianstuff, which, by the way,

the practical effects for the montcalm Mariaand the corn. So they're all
like real people in the not cgi. Yeah, they're gorgeous. They look
they look wonderful and it's funny becausethey are wearing Fisherman's cable knit sweaters that
you know, that's gonna be likeone of the top cosplays at celebration.

I love it. I love itso much. I immediately thought like could
I knit that? I could nitthat? Like you have Fisherman's sweaters and

Obviously, they get fished out withthis giant crane thing which which by

it looked very reminiscent of a walker, and it looked like they just cut

ever gotten in a Star Wars anything. It was super adorable. I will
point out that I was a littleannoyed that they were pointlessly gendered because she

especially like the Fisherman, like thethe docks and stuff. It's it is
insane of what they can do withthis technology. And I find it it

for his armor, and so theythey punt the baby into the like cracking

creature. Yeah. It was.It was like a um like water sarlac
like aqua yeah aaa, and soliterally kicks them in there and then it

things, and then all of asudden, three of them like drop dead,
and the gate opens up. Andwho do we see reaching out their

eight year old night who watched theClone Wars together, we grabbed each other

is both freaking katan Um and Katyawho is which is say yes, played
by Katie Sakoff. She who perfectfor this role. Yes, Kay Sakoff.
Also, if you don't know this, she voiced Pocaton in the Clone
Wars and Rebels and the fact Ithink she's the first person who voiced a

character an animated series to also playthem in the live action format. Um,
I don't know, I guess maybeI think because we all we mean,
we got Saguarrera in Rogue one,but he was not played by the
same person who voiced him. Obviously, he was forced Whittaker. Yeah.
Um, so I think she's thefirst one boy character or not. But

yeah, so that was pretty,you know, fantastic. You know,
if you're a big sci fi fan, you're probably already a fan of Katie
Sakoff just because of five. Umyeah, I don't know. Um so,

Um. Yeah. So we getPocuson revealed, and then the second female
Mandalorian Um was the mysterious figure bothfrom the UM the previews, the user
previews, and we found out thatshe was like observing them on the dock

when they first came in. Yes, and she's played by Mercedes Vernando.
Yes, she is the mysterious hoodedfigure. Um turns out to be one
of the Mandalorians. Um yeah,not to be, not to be and
not Aska no no no no.Um so yeah, so they take their

helmets off and and Mando's about tothrow a conniption because this is not the
way. Yeah, so he haslike a mini Mando aneurism and is all,
you know, up in their grillabout you know, this is not
the way. What are you doing? You can't remove your helmet, blah
blah blah, and they're all like, oh, oh, you're one of

those. Yes, we find outthat he's a child of the Watch.
Yes, so we get reveal thatthe reason Mangoes Mandalorian canon is so different
from anything we've ever known before aboutthe Mandalorians is because he's basically part of
a religious zealot group that broke awayand they want to go back to the

old ways. One sees your face, No one knows nothing about you basically,
but like every other person on Mandalorianwho's basically saying and you know,
not crazy, is like, no, that's cool, you can see me.
Yeah, have have have fun withthat. Yeah okay, Yeah,
they're basically like the fundamental religious Mandalorians. Yes, and bo you know said

you're a child of the Watch,which if you go back to the flashback
from season one, he's rescued bydeath Watch. Yes. So so it
all comes to makes sense sense now, yeah, we know, and it
makes sense for everything else, Likeyou know that that one little throwaway line
answers all of our questions from likerebels from Clone Wars, like it answers
everything now everything. Yeah, sothat was really nice. So people,

so now people can say that Djangoand Bobo were actually Mandalorians because people were
like, they're not Mandalorians because theytook off their helmets. Well they are
a guests. Now back to beingMandalorians. Well, I don't know.
We still don't know because they maynot have been considered to be Mandalorian at
least Django is maybe Boba not somuch, but yeah, I don't know.

It's a it's a feast to theeyes to see Katie sack Off as
Bogaton and with her short, lowred hair and her head band too.
I'm just like, she looks perfect, she looks she looks great. Love
it. I was happy, happy, happy, happy, Yeah, And
it was it was really it was. It was winsome and cool to hear
her describe you know, who sheis, that she's the last of her

line, and it's like, youknow, throwing back to a teen and
making it sad and very very sadsad set. Yeah, so wow,
it was a huge it was ahuge reveal. And then so she's like,
hey, come help us, andhe's like nah. So he flies
away and there's a really pretty shotof them also flying off the ship,

and then they blow it up.Yeah, it's really really pretty because the
sunset is happening and all these flameseverything. But Mando gets confronted by Kululu
people and the Mando's yes, dispatchwith them very quickly. Yes, so
yeah, they show back up.They rescue him again. Yes, And

then basically she's like, hey,I'm looking for something. I need help
taking this ship and imperial ship.Yes, if you help me, I
can. I can help you withyour quest basically a tip or tap.
She's like, hey, it's fullof you know, it's full of weapons,
it's imperials. Let's do this.Come on, And he's like okay,

sure. So he goes and visitsfrog Lady and Frogman. Yes,
and yes, he leaves baby Yodawith them and he's like behave and you
know what I mean and okay,which is the funniest thing ever, because
you know, the couple's like,what do you mean? He was a
great. I don't know. Ithink that she caught on. I think

she eventually caught on. I wondercould And then you know, baby Yoda
just like puts his face basically tothe glass and it's like I want this.
Yes, And then we see theeggs finally start hatching. Yes,
it's so cute. Uh. Butmy thing is we left them maybe for
like an hour or two, andthey're already fertilized and already like growing.

It's like, oh, I don'tknow. They're a super fast movement,
y'all. Y'all move quickly. Isee. Apparently they do. And so,
uh turns out that all these weaponsand stuff they are on a Gazante
class ship, which we've never seenone in live action before. It was
very cool. Uh, And sothey stormed the ship, uh take out

a bunch of stormtroopers. And Ilove one of the Mando's throwaway lines saying,
uh, these storm troopers can't hitthe side of a bantha. Yes,
wasn't a fantastic It was great.It was great. And the line
where they're communicating with the um withthe cockpit and they're like, I don't
know, there's like ten or moreof them and then the other guy who's

who's monitoring the ship, he's like, um, it's four life forms,
it's fur sir. That's just that'sit for her. Uh. And so
basically they stormed the ship. Theyget what they at, they get what
they need. Um Bow is sayingthat we need to take the ship.
We need to you know, andMando's like, no, this wasn't a

part of the deal. The partof the deal was to get the weapon.
And she's like, yeah, butI need the ship because I'm after
something that's very important to me.She was like, I of course,
yeah, we of course, weall know what she's talking about, which
is the Dark Saver. And soeventually they get to storm the bridge before
the pilots or before the commander getsto take the ship down, because he's

just like nos diving it down.He's like, well, all right,
because these orders from Mouscitian, Yeah, yeah, saying hey goodbye, you
can't be compromised. So yeah,which, speaking to which I absolutely love
the fact that they have like theirown version of like Sinie capsules Colfo.

but cool. Uh. And sothey storm the bridge, they find
out what they need and then theyyou know, are about to go on

lead them to the Jedi because soyes, and she's like to return to
the child. She's like, Ican't. I'm on my own thing.

very um kind of insular episode.Like, there's not a lot of there's

and then we're on the ship,and then we're on another planet. Um,

and we're back in the ship.So there's not a lot. Uh,
there's not a lot going on asin like going places the way we
did in the very first episode.Um, we're back. We're back in
less eyes lea um and um Mandois still looking for more of his kind

and so he's asking, he's askingaround and um Amy Sadaras has she said
she has intel on this. Butbasically he's going to have to like do
her a favor, um by transportingthis woman who needs to get to another
planet for reasons. Um. Andshe's very she's very trusting. She trust

her a whole lot, right,super trustful. Uma. Yes, he
becomes an uber. Yes, ohmy god, that's totally what it is.
It's Razor Christ uber. Uh.So he we meet this woman who
is like, um, I don'tknow, like the fire spirit from Frozen
two giant in giant anamorph form.She's like a gecko. She's a gecko,

and she's adorable, and she doesnot speak basic. She understands it,
but she doesn't speak it. Also, Amy Sadara speaks whatever crazy gecko
language this Dico person r, whichwas really entertaining. Um. So,
her whole deal is that she hasa spouse on a nearby planet and she

has to get her eggs that she'skeeping in this little fish tank to her
spouse so that he can fertilize them, otherwise their line will in um and
and she's she's on a time crunch, and the caveat to him taking her
there is that they cannot enter hyperspacecorrect correct grows the eggs like explode or

something like that. Yeah, becauseyeah at um uh sublight speed, I
believe speed. Um. But shesays that her husband knows of other Mandalorians
on this planet. They're so okay. So Mando's all in, like this

is crazy whatever, but he's allinto being an uber driver. Um it's
uber driver, which is hilarious.Yes, all right, why do you
pick up from there? So he'she's in this, he's in the space.
He's he's zoomed, he's zooming alongand all of a sudden, he
is being tailed by two New RepublicX Wing fighters. Yes, and uh,

we don't really get to see whothey are, just yeah, we
just hear um uh commotion. Youknow. They're they're saying, hey,
why isn't hear a transponder on What'swhat's going on, sir? And he's
like, oh, um, myship is old, Yeah, to old.

We meant to do that. I'llget that tail I fixed project it
basically is what it is. Uhhe uh It's like yeah, I'll get
it fixed. Like, well youcan fix it now, and he's like
okay, sure. It's like thepolice officer being like, well, I'll

Um. So we find out thatthe X Wing pilots are they're played by
gentleman by the name of Paul's son, Hung Lee as Captain Carson Teva.
And we have our very own DaveFiloni coming back as Trapper Wolf. That

was so cool, and he doesn'tlook nearly as uncomfortable as he does in
season one when he's acting, sohe looks way better. Yeah, but
it was it was really exciting tosee a couple of X Wings pull up
all badass, you know, likewe we run this mother now. Yeah,
And so basically they're saying, youknow, you're in a New Republic

territory, you gotta have a transponderon. And Mendo's like fuck you,
and so he zooms down and crashesinto an ice cavern, I guess is
what you would call it, uh, trying to evade the X wings,
and he's like, well, dowe know what planet is? By the
way, yeah, it's so apparentlyit's the same ice plant that we saw

in season one in the very firstepisode. Oh really interesting. Yeah,
that's what I've read. I don'tknow if that's actually true, nap,
but that's apparently what it is.It's not Illam as everyone thought it was.
It's not Illam and it's not no, it's it's a new ice planet.
People, there's another ice planet.Um. So he crashed lands and

he's like, hey, sorry aboutthat. But at the same time he
finds out um baby is doing thatsome nice stuff. Oh yeah. So
meanwhile, well they're like nap okay, because you know, they're going sublight
speed and stuff, right, Sothey're napping and they're trying to you know,
make the time pass. Well,we know that baby Yoda is a

carnivore and he is insatiable. Um, so he sees this aquarium full of
some tasty snacks, like baby Yoda'sdown to get some space caviar. So
and he eats a lot of them. Yeah. So when he's when nobody
else is looking, he's just sittingthere and he's just popping him in his

mouth like a bunch of pringles.Yeah and uh clear. So this is
what everyone like flips it about becausethey're like, he's eating their line he's
eating their lineage, which is true, he is, he is. But
also don't forget that these eggs areunfertilized, much like you know chicken eggs
that we eat, they're unfertilised.So it's literally like space caviar. It's

literally like eating caviar. Two,he's a toddler, and just like my
toddler, if he finds shit onthe ground, he's going to eat it
because that's what toddlers do. Theyare insane. Uh yeah. So people
are like they're saying they're can't babyYoda, And I'm like, no,

but okay, I thought it was. And we actually, uh had
a pole up about this, Yes, and overwhelmingly people have voted that people

Also, by the way, howlucky are they that they crashed on
a planet that has atmosphere that theycan freeze? Right, I mean that's

is okay. Yeah. So she'syou know, everybody's freezing. She's a
gecko. It's got to be evenworse for her and her you know,
and her little aquarium of caviar soher caviar children. So she wanders off

into this frozen cave and somehow managesto find a hot spring. Again really
lucky. So she you know,disrobes and we have naked gecko, naked
gecko space lady in the hot springwith her babies that she's poured out into

the hot spring and she's all relaxing. Um. And so Mano comes over
and he finds her and he's like, yeah, this is not cool.
Yeah, yeah, we gotta wegotta go get your babies. We gotta
go. You put your clothes onnow. So the child is off,

you know, being the child.You know, he's eye he's eyeing the
floating caveat in the hot springs,and Mando's like, don't even don't even
think about it, don't do that, right. We wonder that he's been
eating the eggs, like Mando knows, but she does not know that he
has been eating. So child wondersoff and he finds himself in like some
(21:22):
sky Rim style dungeon with a bunchof other egg looking things, um,
which immediately had like red flags andwarning bills going off in my head because
the immense amount of video games I'veplayed in my life. It reminded me
very much actually of the movie Aliensand similar yep, very similar to that.

Yeah, uma, And they wereall quite clustered together and stuff like
that. Yeah. Uh So wetapped in one and it was all gooey
yucky and you know, like athing inside. And this is when it's
revealed that it is a giant freakingice planet spider and these were all her
babies. People were very triggered bythis episode. I basically did not watch
(22:07):
this episode after this point, couldyou really not? Yeah? No,
I had to. I had tolook away. I am super triggered by
spiders. I do not like spiders. Oh well, the only spider I
can handle is a tarantula because theyare fuzzy and cute and that's it.
Every other spider can fuck off killit with fire. So well, then
(22:29):
I guess I'll take over. Thenshall please take over? Because I don't
actually know completely what happened? So, oh my god, this is hilarious.
So basically at the Mama and I'massuming the Papa Spider, which,
by the way, these spiders theyare concept designs from what Ralph mcquarie did
for spiders on Dagoba Yea and Empire, and they actually became cannon again when
(22:52):
they were on the show Rebels Rebels. They had them in from there for
I can think of episode or twoas Rare controls them with the forest or
whatever he does. So to seethem though on an ice planet is really
cool. So they based so basicallyall the eggs hatch and that's just I'm
very glad he didn't watch this becauseyou would have been traumatized because the spiders
(23:15):
just like swarm everyone. Oh god, yeah, and the big the big
spiders come down, crashing down fromthe ceiling basically and start chasing after Mando
and get go and baby, which, by the way, one of the
funniest things is Mando is saying,hey, we gotta go, and then
the Gega lady using her tongue toget the clothes and not like ten seconds
(23:37):
later coming back fully dressed and likewrapped up. I'm like, oh,
yeah, that was hilarious. Iwas like, damn, she's a master
of the quick chase. That's veryquick, man. But anyway, so
they're running, Mando at one pointuses his flamethrower to torch them all.
He kills I think one, Ithink he kills one adult spider, but
then like the other one starts attackingthem, and then all the babies get
(24:00):
inside the razorcrest, so he's basicallyseals himself off and he steals them up
and the the cockpit. Yeah,and he thinks they're safe eventually, but
then like the big mom and spidercomes crashing down, breaking the glass of
(24:22):
the cockpit and basically almost eating everyoneuntil all of a sudden you hear all
this blast or fire and you're like, what doubt that's be what is that?
And so it turns out the twoX wings found them and they are
parked and the pilots are out therejust taking potshots at all the spiders.
(24:48):
Now how bored were they that theystuck around? Probably very bored here,
super bored. They've been patrolling forweeks and been like, damn it,
nothing happens out here. Something ithappens, and we are not letting it
go. Yeah, and so itwas fun also seeing Dave Filoni shoot a
spiders. Yes, it was veryfunny. Uh So finally, you know,
(25:11):
Mando's like, okay, well canyou help me patch the ship?
They go, no, but youcan. You can fix that transponder and
they just love the fuck off yeahbasically, and I'm like, oh,
hockay, yeah, So so howdid he fix it? He so he
didn't fix it, that's the thing. He goes, Okay, well,
(25:33):
I can pressurize the cabin to whereit can just be us in here and
we can just drift basically to theplanet. But I thought they were in
I thought they were in the cockpit. When they land on the next planet,
they are so and they that's howthey stay in there. They can
only stay in the cockpit because everythingelse is wide open and torn open,
(25:55):
so they can't go inside. Ithought the spider, the giant spider,
had broken the glass in the cockpit. I guess he must have packed that
at least. No, you're notokay, Well, but how did you
do that? How does he haveall the supplies to do this? How
is he even fly? I don'tknow. Honestly, the Razorcrest takes a
huge beating, like within like anhour of each like it's this poor ship.
(26:21):
I don't know. I don't understandwhy he wouldn't just be like,
bye bye, I'm gonna I'm gonnabuy an new shap now, because I
mean, is there is an equivalentof space totaled? Because I'm pretty sure
the orre can you write it offon your spacecraft insurance and just buy a
(26:41):
new Razorcrest. That would be fantasticif they could. But yeah, no,
it's totally totaled. I'm total.I'm just I'm so incredulous about how
this thing is even able to fly. It well, it even makes it
even funnier with how it got repairedin episode three, because that just makes
me laugh. Oh my god,I know, yeah, and we'll get
to that. Um. So basically, yeah, he takes off begrudgingly and
(27:04):
very carefully, and they start todrift slowly towards the planet with get Go
ladies. Husband, Yes, andlittle baby Yoda is on Mando's lap and
they just panned to him and he'sjust sitting there and then all of a
sudden, everyone who was sleeping yethe just has his little hand and slowly
(27:25):
comes up and there's an egg andhe goes all an interest yeah, and
then credits. I'm like, ohmy god, they tripled down on that.
Yeah. Like, like you said, this episode didn't really move the
(27:45):
plot along a whole lot, butit was still a fun episode until the
space I mean, you know,like we talk about a lot, this
series is very much world building andcharacter building, which as an episodic adventure
series based in the Star Wars universe, it absolutely should be, you know.
I mean, this is like,you know, it's like live action
Clone Wars. Here, we're goingto get episodes that don't necessarily move the
(28:08):
plot, but do give us alot more information about the universe that we're
playing in. And the characters thatoccupy that universe, and I'm all for
that. Is it, you know, necessarily as exciting as say Episode one
and three were, no, butit's still fun. Yeah, I liked
(28:29):
it. I liked also the setdesign for this, the ice caverns,
the it was very fun. Itwas I was terrifying enough that I did
not watch half of the episode.And like I said, this episode was
directed by Payton Read, who didthe first who actually did both of the
ant Man movies. Oh cool,so we got some MCU directorial debut.

And besides, ta you not havePeyton Read so well and John Papper.
I guess so you have three nowtechnically yes, So what would you give
episode two? Um? Like Alike A five? I just I think
I'm I think I'm kind of biasedbecause of the spiders because it really really

hate spiders. That's not their fault. It's not their fault. But yeah,
five. You know, good worldbuilding, you know, more more
characterization of um of Mando. Youknow, he's pretty, he puts himself
on a path, he agrees todo something, and then he will see
it through, come hell or highwater, he will see it through.

That's very true. It's very commendableof him. Yes, Um, I
would give this episode probably seven outof ten because the spires, the spiders
didn't really bother me that much withoutthey were kind of a cool design.
And look, now, if Iwere to see one of those of your
life, I would be scared shitless, but they don't really exist. So

um. And also I love thefact that if you go to distrol everyone
in eight eggs, that's the bestpart of the episode. Oh. Also,
we forgot to mention that Richard Aodecomes back as the droid bounty hunter

So that was that really really cool. You know, you got the conversation
on the company windows and the youknow, the flaming up around the belly

of the ship as they as theyre enter, and it's it's so cool,
it's so cool. So that wasa really nice cinema to cinemagraphic nod
um to cinema history and to familyrelations between the Howards. Um. Very
cool. So obviously they do makeit onto what appears to be like mostly
a water planet, so like afisherman's wharf basically. Yeah, yeah,

so they basically they come into likeNew England, not in New England.
Well yeah, okay, so theycome in and they you know, they
land on this they land in NewEngland, they land in space New England
where there's a bunch of montcoal Marianstuff, which, by the way,

the practical effects for the montcalm Mariaand the corn. So they're all
like real people in the not cgi. Yeah, they're gorgeous. They look
they look wonderful and it's funny becausethey are wearing Fisherman's cable knit sweaters that
you know, that's gonna be likeone of the top cosplays at celebration.

I love it. I love itso much. I immediately thought like could
I knit that? I could nitthat? Like you have Fisherman's sweaters and

plane. Hand dude tosses some creditsat this poor new Englander Montcalamari in his

reunite with her husband, which Ithink this is like the happiest ending we've
ever gotten in a Star Wars anything. It was super adorable. I will
point out that I was a littleannoyed that they were pointlessly gendered because she

I don't. I see that kindof stuff everywhere, and I was

especially like the Fisherman, like thethe docks and stuff. It's it is
insane of what they can do withthis technology. And I find it it

creature. Yeah. It was.It was like a um like water sarlac
like aqua yeah aaa, and soliterally kicks them in there and then it

things, and then all of asudden, three of them like drop dead,
and the gate opens up. Andwho do we see reaching out their

eight year old night who watched theClone Wars together, we grabbed each other

Yes, so we get reveal thatthe reason Mangoes Mandalorian canon is so different

yeah, they show back up.They rescue him again. Yes, And

then basically she's like, hey,I'm looking for something. I need help
taking this ship and imperial ship.Yes, if you help me, I
can. I can help you withyour quest basically a tip or tap.
She's like, hey, it's fullof you know, it's full of weapons,
it's imperials. Let's do this.Come on, And he's like okay,

sure. So he goes and visitsfrog Lady and Frogman. Yes,
and yes, he leaves baby Yodawith them and he's like behave and you
know what I mean and okay,which is the funniest thing ever, because
you know, the couple's like,what do you mean? He was a

she eventually caught on. I wondercould And then you know, baby Yoda
just like puts his face basically tothe glass and it's like I want this.
Yes, And then we see theeggs finally start hatching. Yes,
it's so cute. Uh. Butmy thing is we left them maybe for
like an hour or two, andthey're already fertilized and already like growing.

It's like, oh, I don'tknow. They're a super fast movement,
y'all. Y'all move quickly. Isee. Apparently they do. And so,
uh turns out that all these weaponsand stuff they are on a Gazante
class ship, which we've never seenone in live action before. It was
very cool. Uh, And sothey stormed the ship, uh take out

a bunch of stormtroopers. And Ilove one of the Mando's throwaway lines saying,
uh, these storm troopers can't hitthe side of a bantha. Yes,
wasn't a fantastic It was great.It was great. And the line
where they're communicating with the um withthe cockpit and they're like, I don't
know, there's like ten or moreof them and then the other guy who's

who's monitoring the ship, he's like, um, it's four life forms,

basically they stormed the ship. Theyget what they at, they get what
they need. Um Bow is sayingthat we need to take the ship.

part of the deal. The partof the deal was to get the weapon.
And she's like, yeah, butI need the ship because I'm after

is the Dark Saver. And soeventually they get to storm the bridge before
the pilots or before the commander getsto take the ship down, because he's
