She is an actress, known for Reeling in Reality (2005), Push Girls (2012) and LA Woman Rising (2019). When, as a 15 year old, competitive swimmer, Schaikewitz became paralyzed from the waist down, "over the course of a half-day", after an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) ruptured in her spinal cord. She went on to graduate with a degree from the University of Florida. Then she moved to Los Angeles where she developed a career in graphic design and branding. In 2012, she returned to the sport of competitive swimming after a 17 year absence, as documented in Season 1 of the show, Push Girls.
