Speaker 1 (00:00):
At average entertainment show more than entertainment and what's on
the screen connecting dots on what you see. Hello, and
welcome back to the entertainment zone. I hope you enjoyed
your break, but I am so glad you came back.
Part second segment of our show. Now, before we dive
in to our next segment, why don't we recap what

(00:21):
we covered in our first part of our show in
case you missed it. We discussed the devastiting impact of
the southern California wildfires and highlighted the incredible relief effort
by Verizon. And we also heard a powerful message from
a fourteen year old named Pasia who turned her experience

(00:44):
evacuating from the fires into a beautiful song to help others.
And we're going to play that song at the end
of the show, so stay tuned. You don't want to
miss that in case you did. Now it's time to
shift gears and talk about something that we all no
doubt enjoy, and that's television. The twenty twenty five television

(01:06):
season is shaping up. You really be an exciting one
with a mix of fresh news series and returning favorites
and today on Highlights a few shows you might want
to take a look at and add to your potential
watch list. It's totally up to you. It's not a

(01:27):
show recommendation, just sharing with you some information about these shows.
First up, we have real Trent. I like having you
in my life.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
It just feels right, Samsis Angela Pulaski.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
I have to please you.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
On to arrest.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
I thought.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
You might choose me. It's a standoff, a corunder, especially
in faith.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Mitchell, this is quite.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
A situation, not a situation.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
Ed get me will trip.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
That's gonna be a problem because he has been gone
for months.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
I don't even know where he is. Will Trent.

Speaker 5 (02:12):
You thought you'd get hide forever. Time to come home? O,
the Trint's coming back.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
He took my office.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
That's mine. Now fine, I'll take your old office.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Are you okay? Yes?

Speaker 5 (02:30):
Okay? Good?

Speaker 6 (02:32):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Who's that for?

Speaker 7 (02:34):
For leaving and not telling anyone where you were for
six months?

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Totally calm down.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Women, love that.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
I arrested the love of my life last year.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
I'm a pathologically scrupulous person, but to be any other way,
I would.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
That was easy. It means you if you let me
back on the forest, I will be the best version
of myself.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
I'm a prosecutor.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
We deal in truth and facts.

Speaker 7 (03:02):
A young girl is missing and you can help.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Us find her.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Y'all got nothing on me. We have the murder weapon,
but you were Karen around like an idiot.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Maybe he doesn't want to cooperate. We can't protect him.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Do you have any puts?

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Betty Murria White Trent, she's my dog. Here she is?

Speaker 7 (03:16):
I gotta zoom in.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Who's coming back in here?

Speaker 5 (03:20):
I'll talk.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Let's be clear. It's specially Agent Will Trent.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
No point guns at people.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
It's rude.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
How do I look? Thanks? Girl.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
It's the crime drama based on the best selling novel
by Karen Slaughter. The show follows Special Agent Will Trent,
played by Ramon Rodriguez, of the gb Bureau of Investigation. Now.
Will has a unique perspective, shaped by his tough upbringing

(04:08):
and Falster care system and his struggles with dyslexia. But
these challenges have also given him an incredible opportunity to
see things others miss, making him a brilliant investigator. This season,
we're going to see how Will is embracing assistive technologies
to help him with his dyslexia as someone who relies

(04:32):
on assiste of technologies every day as a quadriplegic. I'm
excited to see this representation on screen. It's a powerful
reminder that technology can empower all of us to overcome
any obstacles and really achieve our goals. And we can't

(04:52):
forget about the amazing supporting cast. Erica Christiansen signs as
Ansie Pulaski, Will's partner and on again off again love interests.
And Lantha Richson, who brings the warmth and strength in
a role as Faith Mitchell, another talented agent of the GBI,

(05:13):
and Jake McLaughlin as a touch of humor, and Grid
as Michael Ormswood, a detective who has some drama with
the Atlantic PD. And Sonia Son continues to impress as
Amanda Wagner. I love her voice. Will, what are you
doing with the deputy director of the GDI GBI, I'm

(05:36):
sorry and her complicated history Will. Plus, the season brings
new faces to the GBI, not really to the GBI,
but Ginni Rodriguez who joins the cast. He's a da
in Atlanta who crosses paths with Will on a new case.
Now Will Trend is more than just a crime drama.

(05:58):
It's a show about perseven, parents, empathy, and really finding
your place in the world. With the complex group of
characters and rippling storylines, wil Trend is sure to keep
you on the edge of your seat. Now, next we
have a blast from the past with the return of
Night Court.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
This place hasn't changed, right down to the guy fishing
dead birds out of the ceiling. Hey, you know what
I want to ask you something. Say, your lifetime ago,
you work with a guy right, had your ups and downs,
but on the whole like each other, respected, Even the

(06:41):
job ends, you go your separate ways. Life happens, and
you live, and you love, and you lose big time,
and so you close off your heart. Then one day
the child of that almost forgotten guy unsue you and
asks for your help. Would you take the jet? Would

(07:05):
you open that heart up again, let feelings in, knowing
that undoubtedly it would hurt again at some point.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
There is a saying in my country, when men is
holding dead bird, tell sorder's story.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
And that is why I don't open up to people.

Speaker 7 (07:33):
Honey, can I explain, first, do you swear to tell
the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Speaker 6 (07:43):
I do your honor, Gina Stone for the defense, they proceed. Okay, first,
I just want to say your father wanted you to know,
but he respected that it was my story to tell, right,
so tell it. It started with a little poker game

(08:04):
at the Jiffy Lube where my boyfriend worked. You were
riding high on cash and exhaust fumes. But things got
out of control and I ended up here. Your dad
could have thrown the book at me, but he saw

(08:24):
me the way I wanted to see myself, yet a
habit of doing that. After I served my.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Time, I reached out.

Speaker 6 (08:36):
Turns out I was on his mind too. He wasn't
sure about the whole judge dating the x Con thing,
but I said, you're only one yes away from the
rest of your life.

Speaker 5 (08:52):
That was you.

Speaker 6 (08:54):
We wanted a fresh start, so we got married and
moved upstate Ferris Wheel because I bought you like a
thousand Ferris Wheel Christmas ornaments. Sorry I should have told you,
but I was ashamed.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
I know what that's like.

Speaker 7 (09:13):
When I was struggling, I did things that I wouldn't
want to tell my kids about.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
When I have kids.

Speaker 7 (09:17):
I don't have any secret kids. But if I did,
this would be the time to tell you. Now I
thought I was the only screw up in the family.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
It's nice to know that my perfect mom is as
messed up as I am.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
I'm a huge mess. There is one other thing. Abby
isn't short for Abigail. Your real name is abracadabrastone.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
I'm sorry that one's on your father. What I think.

Speaker 7 (09:47):
I've always felt like an abricadabra order in the court,
Judge Abercadabrastone presiding.

Speaker 5 (09:53):
I love it.

Speaker 6 (09:56):
That's called the first case.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
We just want to start.

Speaker 7 (10:00):
But I didn't get to do my all rise.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
That's in the constitution. Okay, the people versus Nate Crab.

Speaker 7 (10:12):
What are you guys doing.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
They just cleaned the door. We're betting on who can
tell the difference between glass and air.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
You want in, Hey, none of that.

Speaker 7 (10:19):
It's the new clerk's first night. I want to make
a good impression. Why it is just what we're looking for.
He's a law student, he has a lot of life experience,
and I'm just gonna say it, the guy is cool.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
You don't get to say what's cool. I've heard you
say yikes, yoinks and yowsers while dropping the same cookie.

Speaker 7 (10:36):
Well tonight, I am a human chill pill. Huh that's him. Okay,
everybody make him feel welcome, Dan smile. Maybe don't show
tea to wait. You could hear everything all your heart.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
As someone who took chill pills in the eighties.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
You need a new dealer.

Speaker 5 (10:50):
Nice to see you again, Jet Stone. Thanks for the
incredibly detailed directions. Down to the step. Now I see
why Shue Sides came up in our interviews.

Speaker 7 (11:00):
I know you've feen somewhere.

Speaker 5 (11:01):
Oh yeah, traded Joe's Fourteenth Street. I used to work
the sample station. You're the lady who looks around like
six times for salsa shots then leaves.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Nope, never mind, never seen you.

Speaker 5 (11:12):
I've probably run into all of you at some point.
I've had a million jobs, spin instructor, hotel bell hop.
For a while, I fixed granddaughter clocks. There wasn't much
of a market, but I'm really excited to be here.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
Who wouldn't be. You know, on the one hand, I mean,
the money's not very good, but then on the other hand,
this will do nothing for your career.

Speaker 7 (11:34):
Don't listen to him. You're gonna love it here. It's
just a breezy, fun, totally normal place to work.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
We've been hacked, I repeat, We've been hacked. Hand off
your devices.

Speaker 5 (11:44):
Don't worry.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
I have my whistle.

Speaker 7 (11:46):
No, a whistle is the cue for the other.

Speaker 6 (11:58):
Very chill.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
The reboot of the Classics That Come brings back the
laughs with the new judge, Abby Stone was played by
Melissa Robs, the daughter of the original series beloved Harry Stone.
She presides over the night shift of the Manhattan Arraignment Court,
filled with the same kind of quirky characters and offbeat

(12:21):
cases that made the original hitt And speaking of quirky characters,
Night Court boasts the fantastic ensemble cast John Larrycat the
legendary one himself, reprising his role as Dan Fielding. Now
instead of being a persecutor, I mean prosecutor that he was,

(12:43):
that he is a public defender. And he still got
that same sharp cynecal wit and charm and the lady
who still love him. I never got that, but to
each it's his own. Then there's Donna gergis played by
my good friend Lacreta, who's a fellow gamer. You saw

(13:06):
many of you with her. She's the bailiff who keeps
everyone online with her no nonsense attitude and quick comebacks.
And we can't forget about the new court clerk who
debuted last season, Whitshall, played by Nambi Nambi, and he's

(13:27):
funny too, the way he gets into with others and
his singular wit. It's pretty awesome met him before too.
Oh and what about some of the other casts that
we love. If you love any of the cast, let
us know and we love to hear your thoughts as well.
This season, The night Court is full of hilarious court
room antics, unexpected guests, and heartwarming moments as the quirky

(13:53):
group tackles the city's most bizarre nightcases. And if you're
looking for a lighthearted escape, night Court maybe just what
you aren't looking for. But somebody would have been watched Ketchup,
so you won't be lost. Now let's talk about another show.
They really captured my attention and that's the way home.

Speaker 5 (14:14):
Man.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
I think I know what happened to Jacob.

Speaker 5 (14:17):
Jacob, I missed the past and I can't stop thinking
about it.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
I want to build back our relationship.

Speaker 6 (14:23):
I want that too, But you didn't want to be involved, seriously, Ellie,
are you in?

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Are you out? What is my mom?

Speaker 6 (14:44):
I know I've ruined your life, but you know what,
that was an accident.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
These fields have been in this family for generations.

Speaker 6 (14:51):
That's not going to change.

Speaker 7 (14:53):
I'm in a portrait that was painted two hundred years ago.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
This is what's going to lead you to, Jacob. Why
do you keep doing this to yourself?

Speaker 7 (14:59):
It's it's like a fixation.

Speaker 5 (15:00):
Just watch kids. It will always take you where you
need to go.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
This isn't your typical family drama. It's a captivating story
with a unique sci fi twist that explores the complexities
of family relations ships, and across generations. I talked about
this earlier in my show last year and even did
a review of some of the episodes. But at the
heart of the story three women. Del Landry played by

(15:45):
the amazing, the beautiful Andy McDowell. She's a woman carrying
the weight of past regrets and struggling to connect with
her family. Her daughter, Cats, played by Kyler Lee, is
a woman who was navigating through the challenge of single
motherhood and strained relationship with her own mother and another.

(16:07):
Then there's Alice, Cat's teenage daughter played by the talented
Sadie La fam snow Alice is trying to really find
her place in the world. And I don't want to
have any spoilers just in case you binge watch and
want to know what's going on, but I will share
some specifics and later show. But these three generations of
Landry women, they find their lives intertwined in unexpected ways

(16:33):
when they discover a time traveling portal hidden within their
family farmhouse and sorry, their family farm land. This portal
allows them to journey back to the nineteen nineties, and
time holds both painful memories and potential healing. Now this season,
The Way Home deals even deeper into the mysteries surrounding

(16:56):
the portal and the small town of port Haven. But
we'll see cat Analys grappling with some consequences of their
time travel adventures, while Dale confronts painful secrets from her
past that have really just plagued her for decades. So
expect shocking revelations, emotional journeys, and unexpected twists as the

(17:22):
Landry women navigate the complexities of time travel and their
family bonds. The Way Home as a show that really
explores themes of love, loss, forgiveness and second chances. It's
a show that will stay with you long after the

(17:43):
credits role. So there you have it, three shows you
may want to check out, and you might want to
binge watch because they're not the first season. And of
course there are many other great shows out there, so
be sure to explore and find out, really what would

(18:04):
you enjoy? Now, before I let you go, I wanted
to say thank you again for coming to the show
and listen to it, and thank you all for tuning
in to the entertainment Zone. I always appreciate you spending
time with me out of your very busy day and
I can't wait to see you all again on the

(18:28):
next show. And until then, stay healthy, stay safe, and
remember I love you all the life. Now, what I
want to do before we sign off is to play
that that wonderful song again by the very talented Pasia.
Here is here to Stay by Pasia.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
Smoke close to hills, a shadow, the sun.

Speaker 5 (19:11):
