You know. Sarah is part of the new NBC show
The Hit The Hunting Party. She plays Jennifer Morales. Yeah,
that Sarah Garcia. She'll be joining us later on in
(02:47):
the program as well, So sit back and enjoy. But
I thought we would start our program by talking about endings,
and you know when shows come to their completion. Last show,
I talked about the last installment of Cobra Kai dropping
(03:08):
on Netflix, and if you had an opportunity to watch it,
what is your feedback on that. One thing that really
bothers me when it comes to shows coming to a
completion is that the ending doesn't make no sense. I mean,
the ending is just ridiculous. It is far fetched and
(03:32):
you're sitting up there. I know the riders were kind
of mad that this was going off, and it shows
on the product, but that is not what happened with
Cobra Kai. If you have watched it, no doubt you
were like blown away by the way this story it
(03:53):
really came to a crescendo. Now, if you have not
watched all the episode yet, I ask you to, and
I'll never say this again, pause right here, and if
you are listening to us on the podcast format, you
can just skip to the other segments of this of
(04:15):
this episode right here and then come back to this one.
I'm gonna give you time, you know, to get yourself together.
You know, maybe you're another room, maybe you are somewhere
where you're not able to pause right now before I
spill all the tea of Cobra Kai the end of
the series. So I'm gonna give you a little bit
(04:36):
more time. Yeah. So you guys doing today, y'all? All right,
y'all got y'all? Y'all treating people? Say you don't want
to be treated? Yeah, so that's the way it's intended
to be. See. Never, never let the darkness engulf your personality.
It's not cool. You're a happy person. I know I am.
I'm a more happy person, but I'm in a better mood.
So let's all get in some good moods out there.
(04:59):
All right, Everyone gone, who doesn't want to have these spoilers? Okay,
here we go. Wasn't it amazing how Johnny had a
redemption story? None of us saw that coming, did we.
We thought it was going to be Daniel Son, you know, always,
(05:20):
you know, getting his props, which is not a problem
because Daniel Son was the karate kid and he was
a story. But I had no idea when when Cobra
Kai started, that we would see the ultimate redemption story
for Johnny Lawrence. And I did not see it coming
(05:42):
at all. You know, when they bought the I think
the sekai takai. I think that's the correct pronunciation of
that karate tournament. And when they when they bought it
back to to Resita to kind of like, I hate
to say, the scene of the crime of when Daniel's
son became the karate kid. I had no idea how
(06:05):
it was going to end. You know, when when Robbie
got hurt, I was like, oh, wow, this is gonna
be another Miyagi coming in their rubbing the hands together,
you know, I thought maybe Chosen to be able to
do it, and Chosen was like, no, I can't do that.
And then I thought, well, well, maybe I forget the
She wasn't a nemesis no more, but the one whose
(06:28):
grandfather did the Cobra Kai thing. The bought sense and
her together, I forget her name. Her name is escaping
right now. I thought she was gonna make a cameo
appearance and you know, kind of kind of do something,
you know, for Robbie. But I was I was like,
I can say, now, where where are they going to
go from here? And that part of the story was like, wow,
(06:53):
that was some great writing and just some great thought
was definitely put into that arc right there. You can
tell when shows take their time and do things right,
and that's what happened with with Cobra Kai. Here we
were probably thinking, well, how come they only releasing so
many episodes at a time. Honestly everything at once. Now
they knew exactly, you know, what they were doing. And
(07:17):
let me back up a little bit. In the beginning,
when it was a career they were at I forget,
but when that that one karate student or karate he
was a contestant, contestant or a competitor you know, game show.
When his competitor when the one who who died tragically,
(07:40):
and they kind of bought that storyline to the to
an end where sense was was getting some getting unconscious,
they started to ponder over some things and that that
really that was a good turn. You know, it was
a good story because I didn't know where they were
going to go with that. Going back to the Psychia
(08:01):
takin with Robbie, I was like, where are they going
to go with us? Right now? What's going to happen?
And then when when Daniel's son was was sleeping and
he had a dream about Miyagi and he remember what
Miyagi said, no need to fight, and then Sam said
(08:22):
she wasn't going to fight, and they were like, well,
what are they going to do? I bet y'all and
see that coming that Sinsey and Johnny, We're going to
have that meat kopa. At that moment where Johnny broke down,
it was like I felt that pain. All Johnny was
(08:45):
looking for was someone to love him, because remember Lou Grant.
I mean some of you out there don't remember to
show Lou Grant, but Ed Eisner, remember was a stepfather.
He really didn't treat him that good. And he was
looking for that and sense. And then kind of the
the flashback to the beginning of Cobra Kai where Johnny
(09:07):
puts some flowers on his on his mother's grave. I
mean that just that was just like some some major,
major thought into that, and and that was a refreshing
look at Johnny's life and everything. And then y'all didn't
see Cobra Kai coming back, did you? And then when Daniel, Sam, Miguel,
(09:33):
everybody who was on Miagi dough band together and they
became Cobra Kai and then Johnny got a shot at
redemption when Johnny won the Kai Sakai and it was
just a really refreshing, happy ending. Robbie and his girlfriend.
(09:57):
His girlfriend, I'm mistaken her name right now. I know
people are telling me right, her name is? Her name
is that? But you know what I'm talking about. They
got sponsorships. That was amazing. Sam was going to Okinawa
and Miguel was going to Stanford. And then Sam and
Miguel went to Okinawa together and that kind of was like,
(10:19):
what y'all doing? Y'all got no chaperone. I was like, huh,
what y'all doing out there? But it was just refreshing
in Johnny opened up Cobra Kai again, Daniel had Miagi
though Daniel's wife was was like and it was, and
Johnny got a baby girl and it was just a
(10:39):
really good ending to the story. One thing I I
appreciated about this too, they they really kind of cleaned
up the language. I don't know about you. I mean,
you don't have to have expeltives to make something entertaining.
You know, That's not how we talk every day you know,
would have to you know, use this explib, that exploib,
(11:01):
that exploitive, that explib. And I felt they did a
really fine job of not having it overly kind of
you know explotives that are in there, you know, SATs
saying the time that we live in you're gonna have
some in there. But you know, it wasn't overkill in there.
(11:22):
You know, I'm not judging it for others out there.
I just saw the difference from what they did. And
I'll be honest sometimes when there's too much explotives that
I kind of have to, you know, try to fast
forward it and get the you know, try to get
the just of the of the storyline as well as
just doing my research reading transcripts. And that's one thing
(11:46):
about close captioning and watching things in close captioning, you
can you'll skip over some words that you don't particularly
care for. So but all I know, the production that
was put into Cobra Kai, the ending, I mean it
was it was pretty dope, if I may say so myself,
(12:07):
just the way they they put they put things together
all right. So when we get back, we're going to
be joined by the amazing Marshall Warfield. We're going to
be joined by Eden Sure and Sarah Garcia. You don't
(12:32):
want to miss this show. And also we're gonna sprinkle
in some of the Way Home News, you know, the
show that's on Lifetime. I'm sorry Hallmark. Oops, boy, I'll
make that mistake on Hallmark. Aren't they the same? I
think so the last time of Harmark. Yeah, but we're
going to delve into that and then talk about where
(12:54):
we're at now in this story arc and and just
some of the observations as well. So we'll be right
back after these messages. Don't go nowhere. This is the
entertainment zone and I am Paul Lamade is Laine be
back and.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
This goes ain't your averaging? The team is shown more
than entertainment. Then we're so on the screen, connecting dots
on what you see.
