Speaker 1 (00:15):
Right, Welcome to today's show. Welcome to Equality and Rights
for All. I'm your host, Anthony Ria Duke, and we
have a very interesting topic for today's show in which
it is a basically a continuation from last week's show
where we talk about the LGBT community and stuff and
uh so, but I wanted to basically, uh to continue

(00:40):
this discussion, but I also wanted to play Devil's advocate
here in a way. And I'm talking about the flip
side of the coin. You know, l g b T people,
you know, they have to really we have people have
to realize that. You know, even though same sex marriage

(01:03):
is important and that's a good thing, it's also gonna
uh make people mad. There's gonna be a lot of
people against it. Oh, there are a lot of people
against it, and you know, but that's you know, that's
their problem. You know, that's on them. If they have

(01:26):
the problem with it, that's on them. But you're not
gonna make everybody happy no matter what you're do in life.
And you're gonna have some support, yes, but not everybody's
gonna like what you do. You know, and you know

(01:49):
that can even be family members who say that they
love you and stuff like that, and uh, you know
that you may have developed a good relationship over the years,
you know that's gonna probably include them too, you know,
and even you know, for for trans people with regard
to trans people, you know what you know with the

(02:17):
fighting light for the UH with the bathroom bills and uh,
and like how should I say when they're not accepted

(02:38):
into every parade and everything? You know, Ah, here's the
thing with regard to the bathroom bills, right. Oh and
also not not not to also forget uh you're like
with the UH train with regard to the train people

(03:00):
for trans women from from men who went to women
to join UH women's sports teams and stuff. You know,
it's like I said, not everybody is going to be
on board with it right right and and even like
when I was talking about the parades, you know, like, uh,

(03:24):
there's a lot of there's a lot of cities and
states that don't include LGBT people and like UH pay
parades like the Saint Patrick's d Parade or whatever. You know,
not everybody is going to be accepting. And with regard
to like the bathroom bill and joining women's sports teams
and stuff, again not everybody is going to accept it.

(03:48):
And also with regard to the bathroom bill, like a
lot of people say that, oh, all bathrooms should just
be all inclusive and everything. When you're talking, you know,
and it's some there are some stores there, awesome restaurants
that are that have bathrooms that are for everybody. You know,

(04:10):
But if you go into some restaurants or whatever, and
if it's an all building, you know, they have it
an old fashioned way. You know, that business has been
around for let's say since the nineteen seventies or whatever.
And if they have a specific bathroom for men and

(04:32):
another specific bathroom for women's you know, like I said
in a prior episode on't let if there's like a
security guard there to direct people to go to their
proper bathrooms according to their gender or whatever, which is
never going to happen. You know, you can't expect everybody
to tear down buildings that make all bathrooms just for everybody.

(04:57):
You know, and you know it's you can't be expecting
everybody to just uh being on board and and and
to change all these things that you know that they've

(05:17):
been the way that they've been having it for so long.
You can't expect that. And yes there are you can
do your protest, you can or whatever, but not everybody
is going to be on board, and you're gonna make
a there's gonna be a lot of people really pissed

(05:37):
off act you. It's gonna happen. But I mean, yes,
you are going to have supported people as well. Yes,
but well you know, and here and here's another thing.
With a lot of trans people that you know, for

(06:02):
like guys from people who are guys and they go,
you know, to chance to be women. A lot trans
people look scary and they scare. They scare a lot
of people, like drag queens, Like drag queens. They scare
a lot of people, they do. And I'm not trying

(06:27):
to be negative or whatever, but this sill just facts.
You know, not everybody's on board. Not everybody's on board,
and a lot of people do get upset, you know,
and that's on them. That's their problem. You know, if
they don't like it, they don't have to look at it.

(06:47):
But these are the facts. And you know, but a
lot of the LGBT people can't just be like, okay,
you got to just change everything, and you got to
do it all now, and We're not gonna compromise that anymore.

(07:08):
We're not. We just want everything right now, our way,
and that's it. You can't be like that because that's
going to push people away, it is. But I understand,
you know, they were waiting for so long for change

(07:29):
and stuff like that. But here's the thing. A lot
of people are not going to change. A lot of
them are just not going to change. And that's just
the way it is, you know, And you got to
accept that, really, you know, you just have to be

(07:55):
understanding of that, and you just have to in many
ways accept it until the time is rightful when change
the change can't happen, you know. But you just you
can't say everybody just has to change to what we
want them to be, and that's it. Not gonna happen,

(08:19):
not gonna happen. Seriously, especially in a lot of these
cities and states that are super duper conservative religious cities
and states. It's not gonna happen. It's not gonna happen.

(08:45):
So you can't keep fighting for your rights and stuff.
That's fine, you know, you have very right to do that.
But you know a lot of people are just knock
going to change and it's you know, that's just the
way that it is. And eventually, and hopefully maybe somewhere

(09:13):
in the future, things will change for the better, you know,
because a lot of people are getting sick and tired
of these ultra conservative religious leaders quote unquoteing you know,
So hopefully over time, some way down the line, that
will change for the better, because more and more people

(09:37):
are leaving religion, you know. So but until that time comes,
and unless that time comes, you're not going to change people.
You know. You got to change yourself. You got to

(09:58):
change yourself, you know. And so with that, like I said,
you can't be expecting everybody to just accept you, because
a lot of people are not going to accept you,
and a lot of people are going to be mad

(10:19):
at you. And that's just the truth, you know, that's
just the truth. So but that, like I said, that's
their problem. Yeah, that's on them. That's not on you.
That's on them. But you can't just expect them to

(10:44):
change because most likely it's not going to happen. So
but anyways, I want to remind all my fans out
there about my website Advocate Information Highway, and the link
to their is a I h N y dot com again,
that's aih ny dot com. You guys can check out

that link and go to my internet stor on disassle
