Speaker 1 (00:16):
Breddy. Welcome to today's show. Welcome to Equality and Rights
for Role. I'm your host Anthony Lario Duke, and we
have a very interesting topic for today's show in which
it is about the current government shutdown. So let's get
(00:37):
right into this. Okay, Yeah, both sides are blaming one another,
but the real blame is people are going to see
that this is really going to be on the Republicans.
Why because of the fact that Republicans control the United
(00:59):
si States House of Representatives, the Republicans control the United
States Senate, and we have a Republican president in the
White House. So this is really the fault of the Republicans. Now,
(01:24):
the Democrats just really wanted of their things that that
they want in the current bills that were supposed to
be passed, but the Republicans did not want to have
anything that the Democrats wanted in the current bills that
(01:47):
are being that we're going to be passed. So basically
the Democrats just wanted, uh, basically the things for the
healthcare Okay, let me get into more into that. What
(02:15):
was it that the Democrats wanted were specifically, I'll tell
you in one minute. Hold on one second, just let
me get to it. Hold on one minute. The federal subsidies.
(02:52):
Federal subsidies. The Democrats wanted to uh discuss about the
federal subsidies for the uh Affordable Care Act. That's what
they wanted to discuss. Okay. And Republicans many times in
(03:24):
the past have said yeah, yeah, yeah, well talk, we'll talk.
We'll talk, we'll talk, and they never did. They never did.
They made promises to the Democrats, meaning the Republicans made
promises to the Democrats in the past, and then the
Republicans changed their mind at the last second and give
(03:51):
the Democrats really nothing. So the Democrats just wanted to
deal with these cities of the Affordable Care Act. And
here's the thing. Okay, many of the people are saying,
Democrats US want to give health insurance to immigrants and
(04:19):
stuff like that. Okay, here's the thing. Here's the thing.
Number one, the law of the United States specifically stipulate
any immigrant from anywhere around the world once they are
(04:39):
on US soil, we are then responsible of actually the
United States government government is then responsible to take care
of immigrants if they did if they have to be
taken to a hospital, if something happens to them, and stuff.
(05:04):
The government has to take care of them. That's the
law of the United States. Now we're taking that into consideration.
If any immigrants from anywhere around the world, if they
come to the United States and if they do not
have any sort of health insurance, if they do not
(05:26):
have any sort of health insurance, then it's the taxpayers
that have to flip the bill because the hospitals are
going to be stuck with not being paid to take
care of the immigrants that government if anything happens to them,
(05:47):
whether on US soil. So what the Democrats did with
intelligence was they had to give immigrants health care insuranceurance.
Is if they have health care insurance, that will make
things a lot easier on the hospitals with regard to
(06:08):
the billing, and it'll make things easier on the US
taxpayers as well. Seriously, all right now, with that being said,
(06:30):
if they're both major political parties, Democratic and Republican, if
they just come together and negotiations, negotiations mean give and take,
that's what happens, and negotiations give and take, okay, And
(06:59):
if the Republicans give this to the Democrats, that the
Democrats can need to give something to the Republicans. What
what would be the biggest thing for the Democrats to
give to the Republicans. Proper immigration reform, more more so
(07:21):
in border patrol protection, protecting our borders, severely protect our borders.
That's one of the biggest things that are the Republican
wants from the Democrats. Okay, and so if the Democrats
(07:46):
give that to the Republicans, there's your give and detaate okay. So,
and that's what the Democrats really need to do. They
need to give something big back to the Republicans. Now,
(08:07):
Republicans are also saying that there will be no deal
unless if the Democrats give into then the government back
open and stuff like that. So but the Democrats are saying, well,
(08:27):
how can we really trust the Republicans. Well, if people
work can at least be drawn up by the parties.
Hold on one second, I gotta just shut my window here.
(08:55):
If the Democrats and the Republicans at least write up
the bills, if they write it up, not saying our
passing that, just write it up, and the Democrats can say, okay,
at least here's proved that the that the Republicans are
(09:19):
willing to work with us and negotiate to help us
get what we want into the bill as well. Then
they can then the Democrats and say, all right, we'll
get the Democrats what they want and we'll stop the
government shut down so on and so forth, and then
(09:39):
then have the bills voted upon and stuff like that.
But the Republicans really need to show things in writing
to the Democrats, all right, and so that the Democrats
(10:02):
will say, hey, okay, this is a step to prove
that they are willing to work together with us now
and stuff. And here's the other thing. Here's the other thing.
Republicans need to comprehend that with regard to these subsidies
and the Affordable Care Act, this just does not negatively
(10:27):
hurt the Democratic states. They hurt the Republican states as
well that they represent. So, now, these subsidies are, but
the Affordable Care Act they are to be. The current
version they are is to be ending by the end
(10:49):
of this year. So the Democrats want to say, hey,
this cannot be. We need for it to it to continue.
The Affordable Care Act needs to continue. So in regard
to these subsidies and stuff. So and again, if Republicans
(11:09):
are saying, well, if it ends that's only gonna hurt
democratic states. No, it will not. It will also hurt
republican states as well. Seriously, it's not just democratic states
(11:31):
that will be hurt if these subsidies, and by the
end of this year, it won't just be just the
democratic states. It will also include Republican states as well,
though it will be hurt by this. So Democrats and
(11:52):
Republicans need to work together. Yet this included into the bill.
What the Democrats want. Democrats, give the Republicans what they
want in regard to protecting the borders and stuff, and
(12:14):
stop this government shutdown from continuing. Okay, that's what needs
to happen. That's what needs to happen, all right. And
I also wanted to remind all my fans out there
about my website, Advocate Information Highway to lead to THEIRS
