Speaker 1 (00:16):
Everybody. Welcome to today's show. Welcome to Equality and Writes
for a role. I'm your host Anthony Larbrido Duke, and
we have a very important topic for today's show, in
which it is why the Home Energy Assistance Program has
not reopened up just yet. So let's get right into this.
(00:39):
The reason why the Home Energy Assistance Program known as
HEAP has not reopened up yet is because of the
fact that AHHS Health and Human Services, which is a
(00:59):
US federal government agency, has not received the approved or
passed appropriations bill from Congress for the fiscal year twenty
(01:19):
twenty six. So because right now the current build that
just reopened up the government altogether, it's just a small
window time frame for Congress to pass the bill. They
(01:44):
only have until the end of January of twenty twenty
six because the appropriations bill that's currently an affect is
for the fiscal year twenty twenty four last year right now,
(02:07):
that's the funds that government is running on. So with
that being said, ladies and gentlemen, the Home Energy Assistance
Program has not reopened up yet. They normally reopen on
around the first of November of every year, basically between
(02:31):
the first and the third of November of every year,
and the reason why they have not reopened up just
yet is because of the fact that Congress still has
not passed the appropriations bill for the fiscal year twenty
(02:55):
twenty six. Once Congress passes the the bill, the Appropriations
Bill for fiscal year twenty twenty six, then HEAP the
Home Energy Assistance Program can in fact reopened. So hopefully,
(03:23):
hopefully Congress gets this passed. If more the most likely
it won't get pasted this month, but hopefully sometime next
month in December, Congress will get it passed. So seriously
(03:47):
and members of Congress, certain members of Congress, I believe
it with Senators have sent a letter to the Health
the Health and Human Services Department requesting that they released
the four billion dollars that's UH that Health and Human
(04:09):
Services has, but unfortunately AHHS, the Health and Human Services
cannot release those funds with just a letter it has.
(04:29):
AHHS has to receive the copy of the approved Appropriations
Bill for fiscal year twenty twenty six in order for
them to release the four billion dollars that's UH that's
there in AHHS to fund things like keep the Home
(04:56):
Energy Assistance Program so that's what needs to be done.
Hopefully it gets done, if not this month, which most
likely it won't, then hopefully next month. So with that
being said, I want to remind all my fans out
there about my website, Avocan Information Highway. The link to
