Mientras escribo es un libro que trata sobre el oficio de escribir, basado en las experiencias del autor y escrito en primera persona de manera autobiográfica.
Este libro de ensayo/novela se divide en 3 partes siendo la primera de ellas el recorrido a través de su infancia y juventud del autor donde se comentan las bases y los motivos por los que King escribe como escribe y el tipo de temática que trata.
Mas adelante Stephen entra en modo profesor dándonos las lecciones necesarias para mejorar como escritores dándonos todo tipo de herramientas con sus correspondientes ejemplos para que la idea encaje mejor en nuestro aprendizaje.
En la contraportada podemos leer esto “Si no tiene tiempo para leer, no tendrá el tiempo o las herramientas necesarias para escribir. Pocas veces un libro sobre el oficio de escribir ha resultado tan clarificador, útil y revelador.”
Está claro y además es muy recurrente este consejo en el que nos recuerdan que para ser bien escritor o para mejorar es muy importante leer y no tiene porque ser algo relacionado con lo que tú quieras escribir sino leer todo lo que puedas porque de esa manera obtendrás una mejora constante.
