Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is linebacker you here. Lander is not even just
line right, He's a mister everything right playing offense. Loving
to see you out there, talk about what it meant
to get this bounce back, you know, as a captain
of this team, setting the tone the way you guys
did today, talk about getting bounced back from last week
and how important this was.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
I mean, it's huge being able to come and win
this game going into a bye week. I mean, you
don't want a bad taste in your mouth going into
a bye week. So it was just I felt like
it was really important for us to just get back
to doing what we're supposed to do, and that's winning games,
playing complimentary football. So I mean, it just it feels
good to start rolling again.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Hey, Lander, billing Scott upstairs. I know that coaches weren't
real happy. You guys probably weren't either with tackling last
week against Texas Tech. Did you feel like you guys
were better today?

Speaker 2 (00:45):
I think so. I mean, especially in the first half
we were tackling well. In the second half, we let
them stream together a couple drives, So I mean, we
just got to be able to finish finish out a game.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
West Virginia is a team kind of trying to figure
itself out. You saw a lot of different quarterbacks today.
How big a challenge was that for you guys dealing
with all the different looks and personnel, especially at the
quarterback decision.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
I mean, it makes it difficult worrying about the quarterback
in their legs. I mean, they had a bunch of
good quarterbacks that run the ball, so it really it
just adds another task on your hand. But I mean
I feel like we were able to handle it. But
I mean again, those those two drives the second half,
we just we got to be able to finish.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
H You got credit for half a sack today, had
eight tackles to lead the team half? Are you okay
sharing that sack with John Henry?

Speaker 2 (01:32):
I mean, I guess he's on the he's on the
trail from mayor, so whatever it takes.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
Well, you could be on the city council if you want.
You know, maybe not the mayor, but you get city council.
You played some on offense, and how are you feeling
about your your contribution with the offense and is have
you seen it to be a challenge or would you
like to get more involved I.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Mean it hasn't been a challenge. I mean, it's definitely
there's a learning curve, just getting back to earning offensive
plays and instructures and things like that. But I mean,
I've enjoyed it so far, and I look forward to
the rest of the season.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Bye week coming at a good time for you guys, Lander.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Yes, I believe so. I mean I feel like our
season structured in a great way with the Buys playing
five and then four and three, so it'll be nice
to having a week off.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
We'll go enjoy and thanks for joining us today.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Thank you.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
