(01:14):
over and over again. And Igot a nice dreamy day. So it
is stormy here. The wind islike blowing at blue Arc, skirting off
at blew arc, trash can over. I mean this old lady, she
was like a little you know, real tiny. She was all walking to
the dollar tree the other well earlier, and she was just I mean it
(01:38):
was everything for her to just standup. And I was like, oh,
girl, don't blow over. Shewas like, I think I'm about
to blow away. I was like, well, it looks like it too.
I mean she was like a toothpick. I was like, oh,
I feel for her because like myhat was about the my hair was blown.
I mean, it was just horrible. It was like freaking hurricane.
(02:00):
We never heard her have a hurricanehere. I mean we live in the
south, right, you don't knowhe's like on vacation or you know,
where are you at? Oh hi, everybody? Oh hey there you go
over on Yes, when did thishappen like an hour ago? Oh well,
(02:23):
it's been my scene. Everybody,Thank you for ding see bleep only
if it was that good nut thatI would bleep you. I would just
bleep a lot of other people inthis world. Look at me, restrained
to bleep. You're gone bleeped you. So U had a really good show
(02:46):
on the radio show this last Tuesday. Um we had Fluffy, which is
a rock fuzzy fuzzy not fluffy sorryfuzzy, right, fuzzy. I am
(03:07):
so horrible, Like he's supposed tobe knowing everything you don't know. Um
like this, you know how husbandsare. God, I love him.
So oh we did go to Eureki. I think we talked about it a
little bit last time. Yeah. So, um we went to Eureka.
(03:30):
It was like Saturday, came backSunday, spend the night. Uh,
ended up at a friend's house forthe night. Party, ended up yay
yay, and then U oh mygod, we got to see some drag
queens. Oh honey, I dressedup. If I had a picture on,
yeah, i'd show you, butthat's next to Thursday. Oh I'm
(03:52):
getting the radio shows all that stuffnext Thursday. We will give you a
sneak peek throughout the next say threeweeks, and uh then we're gonna have
like a OLGB all the trips thatwe've ever taken to Eureka. And I'm
(04:13):
gonna try to get some of theguests to come on that has went with
us, because we love showing sharingEureka with others, Like it is a
very welcoming, very warm, veryexciting just place to go. I mean
it's like thirty five minutes from here, and it feels like it's hours away.
That's why I've been like going,oh, even though it's not comments,
(04:39):
I'm awaking. That's where we gotto meet a soul hearts and it
was so fabulous. Hi roberta heevening evening girlfriend Donna, Honey, I
(05:00):
love you. Yes, I'm awakeup Robert. Yeah, Hey, that's
not sleepy. I'm just saying that. That's true. Yeah often here.
So anyways, we are no becauseI want to do this too, So
(05:24):
we're gonna pull out. It's sohard right now because I hey, everybody,
oh my look at you. II was thinking we need to do
one of those TikTok things where it'slike you know, I know, right,
that's next Thursday. Yeah, we'lljust have to do it next Thursday.
(05:46):
But yeah, next Thursday. Mypartner on how in the world did
you do all that? Do allthe way like oh your ah, your
eye make up, like the wholevery carefully? Did you have like little
heart rhind stones Those are kind ofmy my iconic my heart rhine stones and
my eyebrows are kind of like mytrademarks. Oh wow, and then you
(06:11):
got my heart earrings scarf and myheart coat. Love it. But you
guys met me when I had thishat on, this hat in the wig.
Yes, yes, and I loveit like You're everything is what cut
my eye than week huh. Thankyou for having me on another week of
(06:36):
the three week series. I know. I can't wait for the next one.
Upload that last photo that I've seenyou on Facebook just a while ago.
I will be able to Okay,we're doing this, he will do
that, Ohl says, you lookfabulous. You have watched the leak I
(07:01):
sent you, Troy, Oh,it was just me on live. I
went live before the show doing mymakeup and everything. Ah, well,
then I'm gonna have to watch itbecause I'm gonna learn how to do all
that. Yeah, I left it. I left you on there. It
started from my brothers being glued outand everything. So yeah, if you
guys are on here and you wantto see how I got on all this,
you can all start on Facebook Liveand I left you on there.
(07:24):
It should be there for like thirtydays and you can see how I transformed.
Yeah, and it's so hearts onFacebook as well. Yes, the
same as it as in the link. Correct, Okay, cool? So
tell us some about how you becomewho you are today last Thursday of you
(07:48):
getting to where you are today. So yeah, that's so um if you
want to put that first picture ofthat I sent you guys, um,
the very first one of me andthe little hearts dressed thing, but the
terrible, terrible makeup was second there. I had to get the last pictures
(08:20):
there it is. I found it, you said, the first picture.
It's yeah, it should be inlike a short dress with like hearts on
the middle of it or something brownhair. That one. Yeah, So
that was my first time ever indrag. That was the start until last
week about um. They asked meto host at college the the The Gray
(08:45):
Stared Alliance Show, and I waslike, um, I'm not dressing up
as a girl and people know whoI am. And they were like,
we'll just do some Uh. Theywere like, well, just you know,
just see how you do. AndI was like, if I can
do my makeup and I don't looklike myself and believe me, I look
hideous. I did not look likemyself, that is for sure. And
so I came on this outfit whichI feel like it's kind of foreshadowing because
(09:07):
it's got hearts all over it andit was perfect line right, and it
was actually so the fun thing isis I was like, I'm not going
to spend a ton of money onit, and I happened to go to
the thrift store that was in townand that dress was there and it was
a size like large, and Iwas like, oh, this is great
Halloween costume stuff. So I dressedup in that and hosted the show,
(09:31):
and nobody knew who I was untilI got into this outfit that like black
angel wings and then this this halowith it, and my halo fell off
the show and I was like,oh my goodness, I'm a fallen angel.
Funny stage to tell the first peoplebackstage, and I changed my voice
back to my girl voice and peoplewere like, oh my gosh, that's
(09:54):
you and I was like well, and words spread, and so next year
I hosted in my The following year, I was at Disney, so I
wasn't able to host, But thatwas my first time ever attempting drag before
I knew that I wanted to bea drag queen. Um there should be
one on there of me as ursula. Yeah, so that that picture,
(10:16):
um is actually one of my firstI think it was my second show ever
Drag. Yeah. We uh itwas a Villain's Challenge U And so my
friend at the time did my makeupand helped me work on it, and
then we got the hair from theparty city. It was supposed to be
(10:37):
like a white um. It wasin like the part of the section for
like dressing up for what is itlike being a fan in the end ground,
and so we sprayed purple into it. And then a friend at the
time I hadn't officially like gotten reallygood at sewing, and that was a
steel bone corset. And so whenmy friends had dressed up for Halloween as
Ursula, and I was like, can I use your tentacle? And I
(11:01):
went in there and won that, and it just kind of expanded my career
and so as I kind of startedgrowing with and I really I enjoyed it,
but I felt like when I originallystarted getting into DRAG, I got
into it because there's a chance performersand transferabel and act super you know,
flamboyant and just kind of be partof the community. And then I started
(11:22):
you know, you get in thereand you do that, but then you
start also learning about you know, like what drag really is about where drag
came from. You know, likewe talked about, you know, the
first Pride was a riot. Itwas you know, there were drag queens,
there was you know, there weretrans people leading the fight free quality,
and so it started to become something, you know, that was even
(11:43):
more than just performing. And Ilove that so much, but I felt
like I was a better advocate thandrag queen. And so as I started
to kind of expand what I wantedto do with my drag, I kind
of started looking at it as like, I really don't want to wear the
pointed heels. They hurt. Ireally don't want to talk that hurts I
(12:07):
really, you know, And soit became more of a to me.
It came more like I was aburden to people just because I really,
you know, that just wasn't mything. And I'm a very big supporter
of if you're not going to goall in with it and you're not going
to be able to respect it foreverything that it's worth, then you need
to get a step back and reevaluateif that's where you need to be.
And so for me, I waslike at the time, they grabbing competitions
(12:31):
and they had new performers coming inand not that necessarily I was taking up
space from performers, but I feellike there were a lot of other people
that could be there that were reallypassionate about it, and so I took
a step I kind of re evaluatedand took a step back, and I
act didn't get to compete the Divacompetition because one of my family members got
really sick at the time and Ihad to kind of step back and was
(12:52):
taking care of family. And thatgave me really time to kind of reevaluate
and everything, and so I kindof came at it from more of like
a I'm gonna go to events andsupport well when I um my final show
was the last Diva Big Diva competitionand that's the one with me a dressed
as a wonder woman. Um andso we uh that was my last time
(13:18):
in full drag um and uh yeahthat's drag my drag mother who's still my
drag mother, Nikki Savage out toyou love you so much. Um.
She helped me really get into thatmore natural look because I felt like i'd
always kind of, you know,I'd always created more of a drag queen
(13:39):
look, and I really wanted toknow what I would be like to have
natural style dragon, so she gotme into that. But I think my
favorite look of all time that Igot to do as a drag queen was
a mentor at the time put meinto drag. And there's a one with
really big hair that I sent youguys. Um, they put me into
drag with that, and that wasprobably the most I ever felt like a
full on drag queen. Um.Yep, there's me in full on drag.
(14:03):
A friend of mine actually helped meget into all of that. Um,
let me borrow the wig because atthe time I didn't have the budget
to afford that. I got thatdress at a convenience store, Ladies convenience
store, and I was like,oh, form fitting, yes, yes.
People. It was really funny becauseI'd never gone out and heard like
somebody was like, oh my gosh, you look beat girl, you look
(14:24):
beat, And I was like, that's so instuct in my mind, that's
so insulting. We're telling me Igot beat up one of my friends.
I was like, that girl's reallyrude, and they're like, oh my
gosh, she's like one of themost supportive queens. What do you mean?
I was like, she told meI look like I got beat,
and she's like, no, she'stelling me you're beat. That means that
(14:45):
you look good. That means youlook like totally fish. And I was
like, oh, okay. Manyof the blonde moments in my life have
come from like misunderstanding, like termsand things. Um. The it was
one of those things that, likemy whole life, I've had to like
I've always I feel like I've alwaysbeen because I grew up around older adults
(15:07):
and stuff. I've always had moremature perspective. And so did somebody comment,
did I'm as a comment? Yeah? Said a wonder Woman too.
Oh my god, I am aline? Yeah. I okay, So funny
fact about that. So that wonderone picture actually got me a job for
a synagram. Um. I gothired in to embarrass this guy from by
(15:31):
his wife on his birthday and theywent in and I did a wonder Woman
act too I need a hero, and gave him a lap dance in the
middle of this restaurant that's not evenlike they don't do any drag shows or
anything. And I was so embarrassedand turn bright red that he promised his
wife. He's like, I willnever upset you again as long as you
never let or have somebody to dothat again. But he was it was
(15:54):
the best. But I sent thatpicture and then to show them kind of
what I could look like in fullcup, and the lady was like,
let's do it, and so Iwanted and get it, and I got
a lot of other jobs. Igot to embarrass the head coach of the
Arkansas baseball team as a grandma andcome on, embarrass him. And so
drag kind of understanding dragon developing thedrag really let me kind of explore and
(16:17):
have fun with other aspects, whichI mean, one thing that I've heard
a lot of queen say, youknow is sometimes dragons and something you take
too seriously. Well, I thinkthat depends on how what drag has played
in your life, because sometimes draghas saved a lot of people's life.
I mean, it's become you know. I mean if you look even like
whenever they did we are here, you know that that guy that was the
(16:41):
preacher. You know they're like thisisn't funny, Like this saved the save
our life? Like six was onthere with Eureka and they were talking about
which is crazy because when we sawsix at six was at at Misscontinental because
Six was walking around with Eureka andactually walked up while I was wearing that
hope that you told me with thefur arms and asked if she asked if
(17:03):
I could she could buy it offof me. And I was like,
this is my first time I'm wearingand I'm glad you appreciate it, but
I'm not ready to sell it yet. But I was like, Six wanted
to buy my code, right?I think she called me? Call her
six, I think is what herher name is on Instagram. But she's
incredible UM and she if you everget a chance to look her up,
those are you guys that are watchingor even you guys if you get a
(17:26):
chance to look her up. Shehas such a story of UM redemption UM
because she was homeless for years beforeshe ever got into UM doing drag and
drag did save her life. UMAnd to this day, she's a very
renowned she's award winning, she wonsome awards for her makeup, and we
are here this last year and allkinds of stuff, But UM and drag,
(17:47):
I think in a sense drag kindof saved my life because I've had
a lot of things um in mylife that have been like I'm good at
unicycling, ventrol because I'm good atjuggling. You know, I'm I'm a
jack of all trades. But itwas always like I had to find the
perfect niche for those things to fit. And once I was able to create
this persona, I was able toyou need to try and bring a female
(18:11):
yetti in a bikini. There's someof them on TikTok that are there that
that'd be fun. Though. MI was able to kind of bring everything
together. I have a lot ofthings like right now. You know,
I got asked in my life earlier, Chanelle had asked me, you know,
what my favorite music was and whatthings like to perform, and you
(18:33):
know, when I originally got intoit, you know, it was the
hard rock and roll. It wasthe eighties rock. You know, Kiss
was my first concert as an Austro'sconcert back in the day, and so
it was kind of something I bonded, we bonded over and you know,
the Eagles and Journey and all thatkind of stuff. I grew up on
that. But I feel like astime has progressed vocally. You know,
I came from musical theater and rockand roll just doesn't fit my vocal.
(18:57):
I mean, I grew up inchoir and musical theater and so UM.
I've recently discovered as i've kind ofgone back and starting more voice lessons and
playing with my voice. But Ireally have a fascination with like jazz and
like uh like Tony Bennett and um, that kind of stuff. And I'm
actually singing, um the jazz Tonyvisit Tony Bennett's jazz version of Somewhere over
(19:21):
the Rainbow at a charity event onthe sixteenth. That's the one I told
you guys about last week, thecharity event. You guys are coming to
that, right, We're gonna trymaybe yeah, sure. The costa gas
nowadays I don't like it, SoI'm like, are you kidding me?
It is insane. But but I'mopening the show with a jazz version of
Somewhere with the Rainbow by Tony Bennett. Um, and then I'm closing the
(19:44):
show potentially um with feeling good aboutMichael Bublay. And I've just really started
like kind of exploring that kind ofmy voice, and I'm like, oh
my gosh, there's so many thingsyou can play with um and and it's
really it's really allowed me to kindof open up because I was a singer
and then I kind of stopped forseveral years just because I didn't really find
(20:06):
a way to like get things composedto fit my voice and trying to sound
like a lot of celebrities. Igrew up with that. But I've kind
of found a love for my voiceagain and so um in my shows that's
kind of a new thing. Itis like I've called when venues hired me
and I'm like, Okay, canI sing live? And They're like no,
And I'm like, okay, we'regonna to make some adjustments. But
I've always I've started growing a realpassion for singing live, even at the
(20:30):
drag events, because I feel likeit gives me a chance to tell the
story my way, yeah and um, you know, instead of trying to
trying to retell somebody else's story witha look and stuff, which is totally
cool. Some people are really reallygood at that. It's just I feel
like I want to be able totake it a step further and play with
you know what they've what these artistshave developed and given us. Yeah,
(20:53):
I think that's the same thing withmakeup. You know, if I encourage
anybody that this drag or gets tolisten to this, you know, people
ask me all the time, howdid you do that? Or how did
you get good at that? Orhow did you do this? And for
me, it's been you know, playing with makeup. Whenever I first got
with my my drag mother and shekind of pulled me under my wing.
You know, She's like, Iwill work with you, but you need
(21:15):
I need to see that you're workingon it too. I need to see
that you're adapting it, you know, because I feel like when I first
started, I think when anybody firststarts, they start trying to look like
somebody that they admire, which isgreat, but there's a point where as
an artist, the way to standout or the way to be excuse me,
um, something that you that youcan be proud of in yourself is
(21:38):
by being able to feel like youfully put yourself into that art. And
for me, you know, minewas kind of finding my tokens. I
mean, I have several people thatI admire in the rag community. I
love Land Insider. He's a dragking, and then I also love Axel
Andrews, who has come up hereand he's very known for having like a
very chiseled beard and spiky eyebrows andstuff, and he's very much into like
(22:02):
the the you know, punk andsoft rock and yeah, that kind of
stuff and even rave music and everything. And for me, I was like,
Okay, how can I still youknow, have that drag effect or
have that persona effect and have thatlevel of elegance, but still have a
piece of me. And so throughfinding my voice, which I think really
(22:26):
helped with developing a name, andthen from there being like, okay,
hearts are my stick, you know, um, but to not over indulge
in hearts, how do I whatdo I want to do? I really
like my reds and blacks. Thosereally kind of fit with me. And
then I was like, Okay, people want logos, you know, and
looks and stuff, and I've alwaysI've seen a lot of logos that drag
(22:47):
people have done, and some ofthem I'm like, if I saw that
on a cartoon, I wouldn't knowthat was you. And so like for
me, I really wanted to havea look that if it became cartoon five,
which people on my Facebook or myInstagram my cover photo there say what
I said, order to just checkout the ad this was posted on Oh
(23:10):
yes, check out that ad.That's true. Yeah, if you sek
on that, that would be perfect. Has in my logo it's my it's
my big sequin hat and everything.Um but it UM. I think that
that's a huge deal because it,uh, it still looks like me.
And that was my biggest thing. It's like when you see a logo of
(23:32):
somebody and you meet them, You'relike, Okay, how's my iconic eyebrows,
which have become kind of a bigtrademark for me. Um. It
has my Ryan Stone hearts, whichare popular. Um. And then of
course it has my big ruffle coat, which it's right over here you can
kind of see in the actual bottomof the logo. And I was like
(23:52):
when my um, my incredible dragson um was kind enough to when he
did my he does my photos formy photo shoots and Lucas Alexander Photography is
his thing and he's incredible. Buthe can do anything from you know,
taking my photos to creating a logo. And we actually and we'll talk more
(24:17):
about this next month because that's whenit debuts. But I'll give hint hint
um. I do have a fullMarch line coming out um that will be
available as of May. It willbe t shirts, hats, UM.
Potentially if budget allows, will havelike crop talks and tanks and stuff like
that, but for right now,it'll have two different than my logos on
(24:38):
it and UM and then a speciallogo for for hats to be embroidered,
but those will be launched. Ihave my fundraising show for National Showman to
go to Florida in May. Thelast Saturday of May is that and that's
where my March line will debut. So if you guys can make it,
whoever can make it out in Mayto the fun raising show, um it's
(25:00):
the last Saturday it will, you'llbe able to purchase merch there. UM.
We have a whole slew of performersthat are coming out to that to
support, which is absolutely incredible andI'm so touched um um to know that
there's people out there that that youknow, are able to support my mission
and understand that I'm here to supportthem. And yeah, I think that
(25:22):
that's That's ultimately why I love thedrag community so much. You know,
you hear a lot about the dramaand drag community, which is always relevant
and there. But I think it'skind of like siblings. Like you guys
fight or you have your TIFFs,but the minute that somebody crosses a line
that they shouldn't be, they're right, there's about you. And I think
that's a huge you know, wehave brotherhood, sisterhoods, we have UM
(25:45):
we even have you know, nonbinary hoods. What I think is huge.
But I think ultimately, you know, I know that I split those
up, but I think ultimately wecome together to form a community. UM
that UM would defend somebody you know, and and fight tooth and nail to
protect them. And I tell peopleall the time, you know, I'm
a persona that's supportive, but theminute that somebody crosses a line, that
(26:08):
persona is still there, but itgoes into protection mode. Like I feel
like if you've ever seen Blindside,I'm like the son and Blindside that she
kind of adopts. You know, you have that like that, like whenever
they get in the car crash andhe like moms her. UM, that's
like that's like me. You know, I get in that moment of like
(26:29):
caring for people so much, butI've had to learn in life to take
for yourself as well, like havethose moments to give back to yourself or
to understand that it's okay to youknow, take time or be like I
can't do this, or you know, I need a break. And I
(26:51):
think that that's what kind of mybreak between being a queen and developing into
like what I call the drag genieumbecause I think that it allowed me to
step back, evaluate what I lovedabout the art form and develop that.
And I love that the drag communityis really expanding into understanding that it's an
(27:11):
art, you know. I meanwhen Beard, you guys bought us the
Beard Queens, I think that's ahuge, a huge, you know statement
because at the end of the day, you are loving life, you know,
presenting that way. And I thinkthat that's what we need to start
really looking at, you know,as a community, is like are they
happy rest that way or are theyhappy, you know, as their authentic
(27:34):
self. I mean, I havesome friends right now that are going through
transition, and you know, youcan see the aggravation because they just really
want everything to happen right away, and you're like, understand that I'm going
to respect you, and I'm goingto see you how you want me to
how you want me to see you. Yes, it will. The rest
of the world will have to catchup. But at the end of the
(27:56):
day, the people who mind don'tmatter. The people who matter don't mind,
you know. And and I lovethat doctor's quote. I care that
with me, you know, allthe time. But UM, I think
that sharing a journey with somebody youlearn so much. UM. And I
had a wonderful, wonderful I stillshe is so near and dear to me.
(28:17):
UM. She was my my collegeroommate. UM. And she is
absolutely incredible. And she was oneof those people that really, you know,
allowed me to grow to understand, you know, the journey and understand
you know, UM, that she'struly always been there, even through transition,
you know. And I think thatthat's what you know with you with
(28:41):
parents with with queer children, they'rewith kids who transition, you know.
I think that's the thing is isthat they're so quick to be fearful of
what they're going to lose or theythink they're going to lose, when in
reality they're gaining so much more becausethey'll see the happiness of that person,
you know, radiation. Um.Yeah, And I've seen so many people
(29:03):
that as they have actually have transitionedto who they've always authentically been that and
and then they can see it inthe mirror or they can see you know,
they see the world sees it,you know, and I think it's
so beautiful. And even thinking backto like seeing those moments, even though
they don't say anything, you canjust see the confidence or the space.
(29:23):
And that's what we've really developed.I think even with my show that I
host every month, is that wedon't put up with disrespect of anything.
Let's see, I want to havedrag queens and kings at my funeral.
I want them to do songs fromRocky Horror. My actual first exposure to
(29:44):
drag queens um was Kinky Boots.I saw whenever it came up here on
Broadway. It just segued me becauseI was like, Oh, show Rocky
or Picture show. Wait, KinkyBoots Um. But but I think that
that was my first exposure and that'sthe moment where I realized, like I
(30:04):
loved the music, but it toldme a story and I was able to
comfortably sit around people that may nothave understood drag but they were laughing,
and I was like, oh,okay, we can laugh together enjoy this
show. Um. But that underlyingmessage, I feel like it's affected so
many you know, when Um,Harvey Fierstein and UM Cindy Lapper Um worked
(30:26):
on that that show, I thinkthat it was a huge step that that
Broadway had been really taken. Imean there's been all kinds, you know,
Broadway has always had like a queer, you know, per something,
but I think it was the firsttime that it was so outwardly you know,
expressive. Don't get me wrong. You have Lakajha Fall, which is
the musical version of Birdcageum. Butit has that song that I was telling
(30:48):
you that you need to sing thatI am what I am? Um Uh
the Leakajha Fall does. I thinkit's it's such a powerful, powerful piece.
I think one of the best presentationsI've ever seen was Jermine did it
um on an Award show, andI think it was in memory of Harvey
Firestein. But um, but Ithink that, and I think Harry Firestein
may have played on Broadway. Idon't for a fact, I don't quote
(31:11):
me on that, but um,but I think that that's where we everything
is going. I mean, wehave to start looking at the fact that
you know, yes, we candonate money and we can you know,
promote things. But I feel likethere's so much in the power of a
pen to ink, you know. And the fact that this Florida UM governor
(31:34):
has signed this bill that now isnot allowing um, you know, certain
things to be talked about in relationto sexuality and queerness and things in the
drag community or in the schools UMis a huge step in the wrong direction.
And um, I feel like we'rebackpeddling and as advocates. Yes,
(31:57):
I'm not in Florida right now,but some future plans may make it where
I am in Florida for a littlewhile, and you can best bet while
I'm down there, I'm going torepresent because I think, no, I'm
not a I'm not a huge presencethat's done all over the place, but
people will not forget that I wasan advocate exactly. And I think that
(32:22):
you know, the one thing thatyou guys mentioned last time, which I
think was a was a huge likecomment that I love and Kevin's on said
it, but um is that youknow, what we do doesn't affect you
in any way in your direct lifeif we get married, but how does
(32:44):
it affect you? You know, you're not in the marriage or not in
the household, you're not contributing. And then I also one of my favorite
ones, and I think it wasBilly Porter that said this, but they're
like, if you're not helping mepay the bills, then your opinion really
don't matter, you know. Well, it's true. I mean with the
world that we're in right now orin general. You know, it's one
(33:05):
of those things. It's like,if you're not contributing to keeping my lights
on, if you're not contributing tomy you know, and even if you
are, if you're not gonna ifyou're not gonna be supportive, I go
elsewhere, you know, by bye. Yeah, And and so you know,
I think that there's a lot ofLet's see, I I have cancer
ACE and I was doing five yearsand I can't get it to go and
(33:30):
remission in two weeks with the stem. So if you don't see me around
the next few weeks, I'm stillin the hospital. Oh well, much
love to you. We're sitting positiveand healing vibes. Um as much as
we no, I got this, well, then get it? What?
(33:51):
Oh I got a stain little thingright here, and I go, oh,
yeah, I did share a picturewith you guys the first time I
got into ACE. That was itwas a test picture the first time out.
The ACE is the little spiky hairedone with the sequin coat. Yes,
oh, I get you right.Hair. Yeah, this one was
the first time that I got intoACE and was just playing with makeup before
(34:15):
my side by side. Definitely,I definitely was not as clean and polished.
The hair sprays on my forehead, hair spraying my hair, My eyebrows
definitely were not even there. Aren'ttwins, weren't sisters, and they were
(34:35):
long lost cousins. I was goingwith more the goatee stuff. I really
had kind of you know, Ifelt like I took my influences and I
tried to put out there the bestI could and for what it was when
I first started, it was somethingthat you know, I could. But
I look back on and I'm like, oh my gosh, you know I've
come ways, and um, Ican only chalk that up. Do you
(34:55):
know? Thanking people who mentored mealong the way, Like I said,
my drag mother, Now this wasfrom my first show. This is what
I looked like with my first show. I definitely had kind of played a
little bit more with makeup. Contouringwas still, you know, working my
brows definitely were a thing. Idon't know if I would have done the
red lip, but it I definitelywalked to and made a statement. This
(35:19):
outfit I wore and did Somebody toLove by Queen and it was it was
a showstopper, and that was thatactually was a huge cover photo for me
for a long time or even onposters. Um, I think my one
thing that I was so picky aboutbecause I made that full outfit, but
that hair was done by one ofmy dear friends and I was really big
on it being a heart pompadour, which it totally did, but I weren't
(35:44):
so many times that it's now sittingup up there and I'm like, I
have to figure out how to getit back to the way it was because
the person that normally stop who styledthat is now traveling for film and all
that kind of stuff, so I'mlike, I have to get my heart
hair back. But yeah, thatthat second photo. It was probably one
of my most proudest moments because itwas the I'd finished my first outfit.
(36:07):
I had done my first you knowhair thing. It was a huge hit.
Um let's see look at that babyface. Yeah, she was telling
me earlier, she had telling me, Oh, She's like, I would
have thought you were with that babyface. I would have thought you were
drag queen, you know, withall that stuff. And I'm like,
yeah, that's not the beard really, you know helps too, um,
but uh yeah, it was morealong the lines off. I grew this
(36:30):
the beard out for a short filmI was working on. Um and it
maybe didn't Sally get pitched to HuluNetflix. Was just really cool. But
that's that's another story for another time. Maybe I'll talk about that next week
for future things. Um, butI I really beard up for that.
And then my partner was like,I like your beard, and I was
like, oh you do. Okay. I was like, well, we're
(36:52):
gonna have to make drag work witha beard. Then it just became a
thing. But I'd worked in ajob previously, even whenever I picture was
taken, where I worked in alot of entertainment where I had to have
a clean shaved face because I playeda lot of younger characters or so to
referring to my baby face. Sonow you know that that saved me a
lot in industry. But um,the roles that I wanted to play have
(37:15):
required me to be know, beolder and everything. So the beard kind
of helps with that. And thenI like the idea that it like really
cuts off my cheek bones and everything. So it's really been a lot to
drag. Uh. But it doesn'tmean that it takes less time to do
makeup. That's the only thing.Yeah, I feel like I have to
be more because of the sharp badgesand everything. Um, but I definitely
(37:38):
you know, goals wise, Ifeel like with the vibe that I have,
I give a lot of like oldHollywood vibes kind of thing. I
feel like that's kind of where umit fits or like more like Vegas five
Vegas Showman vibesum, which I thinkis why when I when I went up
(37:58):
for the Showman competition, and Iwas so intrigued by it because it was
very showy. But they've really expandedthe um oh goodness, what is it?
The spectrum of what you can do? You know, as Originally when
it started out, it was morelike Carnival and um, it was a
lot bigger, and then slowly butsurely it kind of grew into what's your
(38:21):
version of a showman? And Ifeel like there's been all kinds of different
versions of showman represented, but Ifeel like I have a clear, precise
like I'm a Vegas showman, Likethat's what I am, um, And
even when I'm taking and presenting,I think is very much excuse me,
Vegas showman, um, oh excuseme. M. But it's definitely become
(38:44):
a passion for me because I feellike it's it's kind of a stepping stone
to where I want to be inlife. And I think that that's something
you know as drag artists or asartists in general, as we're always looking
for that stepping stone. And ofcourse the goal is is to one day
have my own show along with otherentertainers in Branson that is queer friendly.
(39:06):
UM. I think that would bea huge step in the right direction.
M. Mainly because I feel likethe one thing is is people are so
afraid of it in places like Bransonand stuff because they don't see enough of
it and they don't realize that wemay. Right, they don't understand it,
(39:27):
they've never really been around it oryou know, even seeing it.
I'm sure. So. Yeah, but it's opened a lot of doors with
you, I mean to your youknow, people knowing. It's opened so
many people conversations and stuff. Yeah, it really has, and it's it's
changing in Branson tremendously. I've beenaround here on the life and the more
(39:49):
people like myself come down, putthemselves out there and show that, you
know, not every I GBTQ hasan issue or you know what, We're
not all the same rightly, justlike heterosexuals and everybody else, you know.
And I think me doing what Iam doing is going to help individuals
(40:09):
like yourself and others to come downin here and actually put on a really
good show and be respectful and honorableand all that. Well. One thing
that I got to say about thistoo is like you think about it,
and yes, a lot of thea lot of what they what we've seen
publicize and things I thought about Bransonis very you know, religious or conservative.
(40:34):
But you have to costumes these peopleare wearing. There's some most flamboyant
costumes. Yeah, and yes, like yes, if you look at me,
you're gonna be like, oh,he must be queer because you know
this is what But ultimately, Ifeel like talent out shadows it, like
yeah, okay, and do youlike the entertainment? Cool? Keep your
(40:59):
mouth shut and enjoy it, youknow, you know, I mean they
don't like the fact of well, you know, if you don't say anything,
then you are just the same aseverybody else, you know, And
they don't like the whole kind oflike myself. Individuals don't, not all
of them, but some of themare like, oh my god, like
(41:20):
I'm kind of thing. But I'llget a lot of are you like talent
actor done in here? Or singeror performer? You know, just that
right there, And I'm like allof it. I'm a I'm like all
of it, all of it.Somewhere over the rainbow they found me,
honey, and I usually so.In Eureka, we were throughout a beaver
(41:44):
and there's a bunch of biker peoplefrom Springfield come up and they're worth the
table. They come up the setof the space beside us, and then
Troy is gonna go out there andhe sings say something, and so the
music starts playing and you hear thesewomen. Oh god, here, everyone's
gonna start drink or everyone's gonna startcrying the bar where I've been drinking.
Now you're gonna get sad and thisother girls like couples dance, get your
(42:07):
partner or couples um skate, getyour partner. And then he starts singing
and they all shut the fuck up. Girl. They're all just like and
then they cut the table. Afterhis time, He's like, oh my
god, that song. I didn'tthink it was gonna be good when you
Oh my god, blampa and goingon and on and on, and I
(42:27):
can't judge a bo by it's coverexactly, and you know they didn't,
and if they did, I didn'tknow anything about it, you know.
But whenever I did what I did, it literally opened our eyes and possibly
changed their minds, right, youknow. Confidence They're like, there's everything
too. I think the idea oflike walking up there and being like you
(42:49):
can giggle and laugh but watch thisexactly, And I'm like, yeah,
yeah, that's you look a crewe. You girls look gorgeous. Oh my
god, still tickle buzz you're antlepicture though with the butt cheeks. Oh
gone. I was screaming, Ohthat's Gettle TACKI she had a blast with
(43:14):
that ass. It's him on hereis Takie Tina on here tonight? She
was Oh, my goodness, butyeah, you got. I was so
wishing that I'd been able to bedown there if I hadn't been on the
side. Thanks here, Kevin,keV we are seeing the other night and
(43:34):
you were seeing the other night.I loved it. Oh Kevin, you
sing too? No, very well? Yes, we were you seeing what
style? Oh? I sing alittle bit of nineties row? Yeah,
some country. Hey, hey, that's why he went live, asn't that
of fact? We were at thislocal bar and Charlie Praye's grandson was done
(43:58):
a little show that he just keyand stuff there too, and I sang
Combers Frome by seven very three, and then my second one was Rodeo by
Garth Brooks. He made this bigdeal about it, put this cowboy hat
on me, and I was like, they take a picture of with this
cowboy hat. He goes live andI love it. He my babe,
(44:22):
don't go live, and I'm like, I'm all honey, like, hey,
world, check out what we're doing. The last time he did that
I sang gods and monsters by yes, and if I've been drinking a little
bit, like I'm sexy, there'shey. You know there's a level of
(44:46):
confidence that comes with drinking sometimes.Oh yeah, huh. I see some
people that take reserved at the barand all of a sudden, like halfway
through the show, they're like, girl, look at me, right,
and they're probably this one as theyentered the bar, they're probably the quietest
(45:09):
the bar. I'm about to acta fool, right. Oh. Another
we were there at the drag showthroughout it, ever this one and she
was pretty come out and she's likedancing and you know how you guys do
when you want to dance, youwant an audience member to participate. Well,
(45:30):
she stress out with me, I'ma wallflower, like, oh yeah,
I haven't done that ship in twentyyears, and so it's like and
I'm like, dance, go getthat here. Only if she would have
came to me, but she's justso uh yeah. The drag queen that
(45:57):
was performing there, yes, great, totally under that is um yeah.
Well, And that's the thing is, I saw a lot of people.
I had some other friends that wentdown um uh and and really enjoyed themselves.
I'm like, next year, youknow, but I'm intrigued because they're
you know, Pride's happening here inJune. Um, but I think that
(46:21):
I'm I'm I don't know. Imay end up I may end up being
on a mini adventure during that time. Um. But yeah, I'll wait
till next week to talk about it. Um. But the other thing too,
is is you mentioned country and actuallythis month's theme at my show is
cowgirls and cowboys and it's all country. Oh. Also, yeah, it's
(46:45):
gonna be legit. We have misterContinental that's gonna be performing in my show.
Oh we have um, mister ArkansasContinental, I should say, mister
mister Arkansas Continental. Um, youguys got to seek out Um, thank
you? Yes, did you guysfor the after party? No, I
had to work the next day. You're like, I was. We have
(47:10):
we have let's see mister Continent. Also that's tall End. We have I'm
Toll Massim and Roe from locally. She'll be in the show. Um,
probably doing some of her impersonations.Um, yeah, doing fancy and potentially
another Um. Um let's go girlsand uh and then um, we have
(47:32):
my Dragson will be making his officialUM first big debut at the show.
And then we have um, ohmy goodness, who else do we have
that that uh that it's in there, that's absolutely incredible. Oh my goodness,
I'm drawing a blank. Um.But I'm like, I put the
pressure on myself to think of allthe people that are in the show.
(47:53):
But um, it's gonna be.It's gonna be an incredible one. I'm
singing lie I'm seeing in some country, so that should be fun. Um.
I told, I told, uh, I thought one of my friends.
I was, I'm gonna get upthere and sing me some God bless
the broken road. Yes, Isaid, out on a road way many
(48:14):
years cool. Uh right, Imay end up I may end up doing
it. I don't know yet.Um, but I know we gotta get
somebody. I was telling Holland,I was like, you need to get
out there and do something. Stavea horse, ride a cowboy. That'll
make you some chips, right, especially if you say worse and there's a
(48:34):
cowboy there, true idea. OhI knew who else was doing it,
the um the owner of the facilities. Uh uh, there's a there's a
gay couple of husbands that own theplace, and um one of the husbands
used to be a drag queen inDallas, Trixie star and is Um she's
(48:57):
making her re Arkansas debut here,um at her own location. This is
gonna be super epic. Oh yeah, it's gonna be super cool. Um.
Yeah, there's We're gonna we gota really really good cast. Um
where I'm really trying to diversify it. But even with my like and then
like I said, May is gonnabe my um my, Uh what do
(49:20):
you call it? Fundraising show?I hate fundraising show. It's a benefit
show. Um, but it's gonnabe called life is a cabaret. Um.
We have some I have some dearfriends that are coming in, so
we're gonna sing and drag. Sowe'll do burlesque and drag um some obviously
that's what I want. And burlesque, yes, but the tasteful burlesque,
(49:42):
right yeah, the history, thehistoric style burlesque, the very like forties
kind of burlesque, very much likethe the what do you call the gangster
club burlesque? Guy? Yeah, very much. What the what everybody thinks
the flappers or everybody dressed but actuallythey were very much for people. Everybody's
(50:08):
like twenties floppers and I was like, no, the floppers worked in the
speakeasies. That's not how the ladiesall dressed, right, Yeah, it's
just which Again it drove me crazybecause owning your costume shop and people come
in and they're like, I wantto dress twenties, and they're like,
show them these different looks and they'relike, oh, look the flappers,
the true twenties, And I'm like, no, I just showed you vintage
(50:30):
twenties clothing that's worked in a saloonor you worked in the Speak Easy?
Then yeah? Where that? Likewhat do you mean? I'm like,
do you think everybody walked around inflapper dresses back in the forties? The
headpieces? Yeah? Yeah, I'mlike I'm like, you think people walking
down the street like that? No, No, it's it's interesting after I
(50:57):
jumped to what and all that chet, yes, very much that and again
Speak Easy or club like you knowit's or jail house tango. Oh I
love um the or put it onthe Ritz that's another fun one. Um,
(51:21):
but I uh, it's definitely likeI said, it's it's been a
journey I think even for me,because before I own a costume shop,
costuming and stuff in the concept ofcostumeing, why drag queens wear four way
stretched fabric? Like all that kindof stuff did not make sense. And
then I started building costumes and Iwas like, oh, all right,
(51:42):
all right, god like and hesais. I'd be like, why don't
you just use this? And thenthey're like, okay, you use that,
and I'm like, okay that, and then I use it. I'm
like, oh, why don't youjust use super glue to put it on?
Yeah? Right, super good?Yeah yeah, Grilla like all that
(52:05):
kind of stuff. But but Imean, well tacky she uses like grilling
would put her her jewels on.H you mean her ears and stuff her
She had like di grid stones downhere, girl put jewels. It says,
like, what do you use this? She's like a grilling little girl.
Did I not put your skin off? No? If you do for
(52:28):
the makeup, it stays, Yeah, she does. It doesn't pull off
the skin because the makeup it hasa little layer, but it still stays
down. Oh that's too. Giveherself a facelift. Talking about We'll talk
(52:49):
about that backstage. It's a Jadecret. Girl. You know when I was
a drug queen, I used todo that was take tricks and staff taping
my face. But I can tellyou right now, I'm so afraid I
developed early wrinkles. I had tostop that stuff. I bet. I
was talking about how when I fixedmy hair for work, because I yesterday
I can only find one hotel holder. So I did a little like flipbun
(53:15):
kind of thing, and one ofthe girls at work it was like,
oh, I just do make mapbun in one and I used this one
and I'm like, I pull myhair back in the potel and I pull
it tiight. Girl. I waslike this, and I was like,
because when you're my age, youneed every help you can set. I
said, That's why I start theday looking younger than I do when I
(53:36):
end the day. Ye to appreciatewigs more because I'm starting to do gray
hair and I'm not sure whether they'regonna start trying to send me an AARP
card or not. So I startedgrow a lot more wigs. I'm like,
they're gonna see me on the streamback. Oh my gosh, we
didn't put his name Pale Man.We missed him like, hey, I'm
(53:59):
not that at all. I'm justgray early. But I hope that whenever
I do start graying more people learnedhow to respect their elders. Right,
We're gonna be for that one.So when I first thought I grow my
hair out, we also met Changelusbecause when they were taking we're here here
in Branson. So I met Changelaand we were at Eureka. We didn't
(54:19):
know what meat Bob and I lookedlike Rosy o'donald. And this picture,
you know, we got, youknow, Changelas, she's sure and we're
at the log Lar and he's aboy at the time, and so I'm
taking this picture and I'm like,I look like an old lesbian because my
hair is naturally great it did Iknow, Howney, you don't. I
(54:43):
looked like Rosy o'donald. So Igrew beard out and died my hair brown.
How you know what's funny is becauseI wear paw out of platform shoes
and stuff, and then I tendto wear bigger wigs trying to get through
the door. Was in my houseare like terrible, And I was walking
around today, I was like,oh, where my red and black popadour
(55:06):
or my big hair or whatever. No, no, I was walking through
one of the doors. I waslike, no, especially once I did.
Once I thought I was late whenwe were supposed to start at eight,
I'm sitting here running around. I'mlike, I don't have time to
play on my little finger wave wigand hat and it will be good.
(55:27):
And then I get on there andthey're like I can imagine what's going on.
I'm like, I'm so sorry I'mlate, and like, honey,
we don't start till nine. Iwas like, oh, who if now
thirty minutes ago? Bitches where wesupposed to pause for the commercials. Oh
yeah, yeah, we're gonna doa commercial and then we're gonna come back
(55:50):
with an ending. It's gonna actuallybe a short commercial though, because I'm
not gonna replay the Parafests commercial becauseit's it's really expired. I mean,
Parafest is open. Oh yeah, second, so we're just gonna do merch
yep, yep, merch. Wewill be right back after the commercial.
