WELLO, Robert, what hi Robert? But no, good old Damien Christie.
(03:37):
Okay, Damien's under Christie because he'sprobably kicked off the Facebook because he
loves getting kicked off of that thing. He's always getting kicked off that thing,

Damien, like the show and howyou got here, buddy Chris Sharp on
(03:58):
our show and oh yeah, hiAbbey, what's up? Oh m G.
Anyways, we are going to mysong and don't bring up okay,
so we are going to do somethingright quick that is brand new also hope
work brand new and you have neverheard it because it's never been out on
(04:19):
radio or anything else. Um hereit is? Does this brand up?
(05:00):
Sins on home the choices that youand now that I be the same,
And I'm missing you all the timeswe went through, all the sleepless nights,
all the chears are crying. Ican't come back, I can't get
(05:30):
stronger. Feel this for every momentI'm gone brings me playing your table,
(05:53):
I'm breaking down and I can't replayto change your fees as your cass play.
I resigned for never said all thethings out in my head and I
can sing you, Oh Cocain, forget the boy, and I can't shows
(06:40):
Mama striking the crazy cry the kids? What MG, I told you phenomenal,
(08:22):
Like what the hell worns this man? Ben? Like holy shit,
I want to live in that cavebecause I tell you, I would never
get tired of this awesome voice, awesome entertainer. So we are pulling mister
Chris Sharp out, what's up?What's up? Oh honey, let me
(08:48):
tell you not now, because I'moh, you got me going over here.
I just think what that boy was? Holy hell son? Like shit
far. You know. I startedwriting that song when I was fifteen,
and I was writing it about heartbreakbefore I had felt heartbreak. And then
(09:09):
I had my heartbreak seven years later, and I finished writing the song.
It kind of wrote itself. Youknow, hey, that's the best song
after that. And that was actuallyrecorded by Malcolm Springer, my producer.
We the band was called Monette atthe time when we recorded that, and
(09:30):
we searched for a producer online andwe ended up just like finding him on
a website somewhere and it had hisphone number and we just called him.
And that's where my career started jumpingafter I met him. Sweet, sweet,
So how did it jump? Like? Give us some V two right?
(09:50):
So I recorded with him for acouple it was probably about a year,
and he asked me to live onthe road with him and be a
engineer. So I had two guitarsand a backpack, and he would throw
me under the desk of a computerwith a bunch of guitar chords and microphone
(10:11):
cables and he'd say connect this intothis and this into this. And so
I learned how to record and allthat from him and kind of the ins
and outs of you know, thebusiness and how crazy it can be.
You know, you get a phonecall and you're on the road. I
mean, it's it's how it goes. And during so we was Louisville,
(10:33):
Kentucky, different clients, going inand out, all over the place,
and then we landed in Nashville andthat's I was. So my producer was
mixing a song and he looked atme and said, you need to go
outside. I need a mix alone. So I said, okay, So
(10:54):
I took my guitar outside I startedplaying guitar and yellow Wolf. I knew
he was just a couple whole studiosdown. He skateboarded up and I was
just playing guitar and he's like, hey, you want to come in and
record? And I said sure.Uh. He said, you ain't getting
credits, you ain't getting uh royalties, you're not getting anything like that.
(11:16):
So uh, I said, sure, that's fine. So I went in
and recorded with him, and uh. A couple of weeks later it was
it was released on the internet andI just happened to be on there,
so nice. Heck, god, that is so cool. That was my
first. That was my first,uh, you know, kind of like
something was happening, you know. Not not to mention all the tracks with
(11:39):
Monette like the one that you justplayed, but that was what someone known,
you know what I mean? Allright, right right, that is
freaking cool. Like the song thatI just played. Man, you you
have a voice that you don't reallyhear much of, you know, it's
funny pulls people in, because itpulled me in like crazy. It's I
(12:05):
was never I mean, I wasraised in church, so like singing in
church. And when I joined thisthat band, we were actually looking for
a singer, and every one ofthe bands like you, you're the singer,
and I'm like, no, wegot to find a singer. Oh.
It's just funny how all that worksout, because I never wanted to
(12:28):
be I never wanted to be thesinger, you know, like I was
always like humbled, and you know, I was new. You know there's
someone out there better than me.But you know, everybody just kept saying
I had something unique. So wewent with it. You do like you
really do, and definitely stay withit because it's gonna go and it's gonna
take you far farther than you've everbeen before. I guarantee I love you
(12:52):
too. Let's see someone talking tome. I'm telling you, man,
it's like we were talking before. While I was on back stage. There's
been times I wanted to quit, man, and you know, my wife
has told me stop it. That'sstupid. So you know, and you
know, we all go through roughpatches and you know, insecurities and stuff,
(13:18):
you know, but if you reallybelieve in something, um, you
know, never give up. Youjust gotta keep truck at man. Yeah,
absolutely, especially to those young artists. If you guys are listening,
Uh no, it ain't easy, man, and you just gotta keep you
gotta keep going. It's a dailyit's a daily thing. You know.
You just gotta you gotta make sureyou're you're you're always on top of your
(13:41):
game because the world ain't gonna giveyou nothing. Boy, you gotta work
for that ship because you know, but hey, you will reap the rewards
of your work. So you know, no matter how you feel, you
gotta pick shuff up, you know, put the head on and don't right,
(14:03):
there's so many ours. Yeah,So I was supposed to record with
Saliva the Josie Scott here a coupleof weeks back that that was supposed to
happen, and the floor was therug was pulled out from under me.
So that would have been another reallycool experienced. Yeah, that would have
(14:24):
been a Saliva like come on,bro, Like that would have been so
cool. I would have been like, hey, dude, how'd you write?
Click click boom? He would havebeen like, he would have been
like, I picked up a gun. I don't know, so funny.
It's everywhere I'm telling you, man, it's uh, what does the stories
(14:48):
of you know, the bgs youknow and when they were when they are
on the road and when they werewriting songs, you know, they would
listen to any noise they heard onthe bus, you know, and they
would turn that into like a I'mpatterned and uh, music is just such
a funny thing because I mean,I've been sitting here working on this one
song for a couple of days.It feels like I got nothing done.
(15:09):
But it's definitely not the case, right, Um, it's just finding the
right noises, right and you will, it will and it'll be amazing.
That's on the production side. Solike I'm working on a song that I
wrote, Um, I wrote bymyself and just uh doing some kind of
(15:33):
some production stuff. A lot oftimes I want to bring in someone else
because you know, they have adifferent vibe on it, but that's just
part of my studio. So I'msitting here working on my own studio.
I've been working in here tonight.Nice Nice and his studio is in Branson,
(15:56):
right, yep, it's right nextto old all the way. Parton
who Who is a couple of lots. So are you looking for clients to
take in? And I am lookingfor clients. I'm looking for I'm looking
for artists. I'm looking for peoplewho write their own music and to help
(16:18):
guide them and find their voice andand let them know of the harsh realities
of the music business and you know, become friends with these people, you
know, and um yeah, yeah, the most the most important part is
uh is getting in there and learning, because there's a whole nother there's a
whole nother echelon to recording, youknow, and this and at a young
(16:42):
age, the sooner you can getin recording, you know, the easier
it's going to be for you.So right, m m yeah, I've
learned that from Damien and Jimmy.Yeah, all the stuff that goes into
oh yeah, because you put theheadphones in and then you got to sing
into it microphone. But then there'slike it feels weird because like you can't
(17:04):
you hear yourself, but it's notlike you're hearing yourself. You're hearing yourself
through a computer. It's like,yeah, yeah, it's really weird,
you know it is. It's areally cool experience. Um yeah. And
there's multiple ways of doing that.I mean, you know, I track
h you know, vocals and guitarat the same time, or you know,
(17:26):
let's say you don't even play guitar. Well, you know, I'll
play the guitar for you and recordit for you, so you know,
and I'll even find band mats andhire people from out of state to play
on the records, you know, and I can outsource that kind of stuff
for you. Hey, yay, that is awesome. So you hear that,
people, this is the man totalk to and get a hold of,
(17:48):
because so all you gotta do isemail me at Chris Sharpe is nineteen
eighty seven. So it's h RI S s h a Arpe I S
nineteen eighty seven at Gmail. Nowthe reason it's is nineteen eighty seven because
(18:10):
I was I was year was born. So that's why I came up with
that email address. Okay seven Gmail, Yes, Chris Sharp is so Chris
Sharp is nineteen eighty seven. Alrighty, I'm putting her in there at meal
and the comments guys, so youknow, and check on the comments and
(18:34):
be like, where's that email thatWell, you know where it's at.
Chris Sharp is nineteen eighty seven atgmail dot com. That's right wearing my
glasses. So those of you allthat to see any stare at the computed.
The glasses that I sometimes wear inthese videos are actually needed, right,
(18:56):
Yeah, they're not. Do youhave any questions for me? Dudes?
Yeah? Um? What kind ofinstruments do you play? Exactly?
That is a loaded question. Iplay piano, guitar, bass, mandolin,
(19:17):
yes, harmonica, ukulele, andthen pretty much any virtual instrument.
But I actually have this one.I was showing you this one when you
gotta play something money is the newone right here, and it is a
MIDI guitar. So it plays likea piano that plays like a piano,
(19:40):
right, so the computer reads itas a piano, but it plays like
a damn guitar. It's it's crazy, dude. Now, this is the
thing is. All you have todo is go buy these They're called the
Mustang, the Fender Mustang, andthey haven't been uh for Xbox and for
PS five and they register in arecording student register as a piano. So
(20:03):
if you're a young musician you're learninghow to record, go buy one of
these things if you play guitar, because they will save your life's that is
so cool, no idea, Yeah, it is super cool and I find
myself actually using that more than theregular keyboard. But when I'm going to
play actual chords on the piano,I play real piano, right, But
(20:27):
so I've got um. I wantedto talk about that songwriting contest. Yes,
okay. Now that's at SIPs SIPshere in Branson, and it is
from seven pm until ten pm everyTuesday night. So if y'all from Branson,
(20:48):
y'all need to come out and I'llbuy you a beer or something sweet,
you know what I'm saying. Andall right, we got I'm going
on tour with I'm maybe I'm waitingon dates like if it happens, but
going on tour with Dakota Poorman andhis song Hippie at Heart We'll be released
in three days and I play withhim. My producer connected me with him.
(21:12):
Awesome, okay. And then withanother thing to plug is if you
go to ten inch so one zeroinch music dot com, my producer is
doing a contest. The person whowins the contest gets a free song recorded
(21:37):
ten inch music so one zero incchmusic dot com. Now it costs twenty
five dollars to enter, and allyou have to do is send them what
you got, so it doesn't matterif it's you playing acoustic guitar on accouch
or whatever. It doesn't matter,So uh, jump up on that,
(22:03):
man, because I know how muchthat song that you just played. It's
not cheap. So if you wantto record a song like that and it'd
be twenty five dollars, I wouldrecommend yes, like I know how much
it cost. And yeah, youwant to jump on this because one time
you want to jump on that anduh, he's he's not looking at the
(22:29):
quality of your recording. So thisis where you're lucky, is that he
knows there's a reason you're coming tohim, So um, send him the
song, and then the person whohas the best song wins. Cool.
I may have sent him a coupleOkay, so I might be in the
contest. I'm telling you so funnyman. Oh absolutely, that's so cool.
(22:57):
Heck yeah, all right, sowe got uh all right now my
studio. Yeah, Um, Ialso hire drummers and that kind of stuff
as well. So if you needa drummer, uh, and and I
play all the instruments. So uh, not only will I record all the
instruments for you, but I canget um, get you a real drummer
(23:21):
or anything you need, and thenI have other studios that I work out
of in the area. So ifyou all contact me, um, we
can talk about all that stuff too. Cool nineteen eighty seven at gmail dot
com. That's great, m Ifyou can face Facebook stock me out,
(23:41):
you can. I don't ever turnanyone down unless they have like a one
of those link things that takes youto like a porn website. I usually
don't accept those. But if youguys, if you guys add me on
Facebook, you always talk to methat way too, if you feel more
comfortable that way. Cool. Cool, that's awesome. Yeah. Is there
(24:03):
any other way to get a holdof Yeah, you can actually call my
phone number because you should probably textit, honestly. Uh. Four one
seven three nine three five one zerofive. Is there any special hours for
them to contact you? Yes.Hours for me are nine am until five
(24:26):
pm. So that's nine to fiveevery day. Oh god, no,
it's gonna be in my head allnight long. It's nine to five every
day, man. Yeah, So, uh, you guys get hit me
up any time, man. Andnot to mention, I know I know
people up in the industry too,and I can contect connect you with those
(24:48):
guys. Too. So um,all we gotta do is hang out and
see what you need. Because whateveryou need, I can throw you somewhere,
you know, even if it's notme, you know, Um,
I can throw you to people thatcost a lot more than me. But
(25:10):
yeah, I'm your local neighborhood audioengineer. I'm the cheap guy, and
I'm the guy who cares. I'mthe guy who cares about your music,
you know. And and and youknow where a lot of studios that you
go into, um they just wantyour money, you know. And and
me, I'm doing it. I'mdoing it because I love to do it,
(25:30):
you know. And and my overheadisn't crazy, so you know,
I'm able to give cheaper rates. So especially to the aspiring songwriter, you
know. Yeah, absolutely, Likethat's very rare nowadays that you find a
really good songwriter you know that reallyhits the spot. You know. Yeah,
(25:52):
well, you know, SIPs fromseven to ten, seven to ten
now at SIPs, I'm seven toeight is open mic. So if you
you know, you want to singa cover or you want to like you
know, maybe do I think thatthey even do stand up? And during
that hour I can't remember if theydo that or not, but don't quote
(26:14):
me on that. But I doknow that they had a stand up guy
to do it this week, andhe got up on the mic. From
seven to eight, it's open micnight, and then from eight to ten
it's the songwriting contest. And I'ma judge whenever they need me. So,
hey, there's my wife. Hey, what's up? Day of being
(26:37):
in the house in just a minute, I promise, But am I keep
him out too late? Right? That's awesome. I can't wait to meet
her, you know. Yeah, she's super awesome. She's always working.
She's not working on Facebook. Yeah. She I was playing down at the
landing and uh all this and shewalks up and I'm like, hey,
(27:02):
hey, hey, honey, youlooking for a date. She's just smiling.
Awesome. She she actually told methat she's jealous of my tan because
I've been out in the sun playingon the landing and I'll look at her.
Yes, we would love to meettoo, too, you will.
(27:23):
We should have some drinks together sometimessoon. That'd be awesome. And we
got a studio to chill out atyou man, Yes, I want to
do that for sure. Like Ihad so much fun man, like you
have no idea. It was solaid back, and I learned so much
about you, but not just aboutyou, but you know, your family,
(27:45):
the studio, how everything works, and you know that's just I was
totally ecstatic. You know a lotof it's like you know, when you're
recording. Uh, I learned fromyou know, Malcolm, like you know,
get those candles lit, you know, burn the sage, you know,
get the incense lit. You know, get the vibe real good.
(28:07):
You know, like everyone in ahappy mood, you know, like let's
want to chill. Yeah, yeah, that's that's my jam. Uh.
You know, I have a wholeI have a little box here, so
it's a little treasure chest and it'sfor sage. Right here. We have
a little kind of like that. It's from the Salem Um Museum, the
(28:33):
salam Massachusetts, and we keep ourcrystals in it. Yeah. Yeah,
oh you guys are into crystals.Yeah, we're into a lot of other
stuff too, not like that.Hey, guys, if you want to
keep the spiders out of your house, you take these little cotton balls and
then you put peppermint extract on thecotton ball and then you put them in
(28:56):
each corner of the house. Haveyou heard that one? No? No,
useless information for your everyday life. No, it's really useful information.
Oh yeah, it really is useful. Um. I haven't done it yet.
I haven't had any problems yet,but if I do, my mom
did that when I was younger, and I never saw a spider altar high
(29:19):
school. Wow, that's good toknow. Yes, it is. Yeah,
every corner though, every corner ofthe house. So there's a corner
there, put a peppermint because becausethey run to the corners. Right now,
that's one in each corner, nota dozen two. I'm gonna peppermint
(29:41):
from the top to the bottom. It's not everyone's gonna be like, oh,
bankers, bankers doesn't, bankers doesn't. I was working at McDonald's when
(30:03):
I was younger and they said,uh, bakers doesn't. I said,
I know what that is. Andthe person next to me, she's like
sixteen, what's Bakers doesn't? Isaid, I don't know. Ask him
and he just railed into her.How could you not know that? How
could you not know what Bakers doesn't? That guy was upset about it.
(30:25):
People get so upset about the smallestoh yeah, that stuff because they have
nothing better to do. Yeah, they should focus their efforts on productive things.
Yeah, exactly. So we gotsongwriter contests and SIPs. Yes,
And mister Chris Sharp is going tohave a soog coming up and that is
(30:47):
going to be mayor nineteenth and twentysix I'm so excited to so you gotta
check it out. It's going tobe an hour long each one of them,
and it's going to be more detailedfrom the beginning to the very end
of his life, and it's gonnabe so much information that if I really
(31:08):
want to keep us with them, really gets to know him, really be
a part of everything, you gottalike totally check that out. And that's
gonna be the nineteenth and twenty sixthof May. No, I hope not
the end. I hope his damein life doesn't end at ten o six
story. It's like I always say, that does happen? It was.
(31:33):
It was nice knowing y'all and youknow, good gluck beginning and the continuance
so funny. I'm I'm so lookingforward to it and you know, uh,
more more than anything, Uh,when people hear your story, they
(31:53):
can kind of relate with yeah,um, with what's going on and especially
as a musician, how different cooldit is because the odds are against you.
Yeah, I mean that's not verymaniality that a lot of people don't,
you know. So yeah, maybeyou'll be talking and telling somebody something
that they will absolutely use in theirlife and need to know. You know,
(32:16):
you're gonna be helping them because youdidn't have that. So yeah,
encouragement when when you're down, uh, you know, and and me,
I've you know, sometimes fail onthis one. But when when you're down,
you're supposed to pick up the notepadand paper and start writing instead of
you know, being in that thatupset state. So yeah, so um,
(32:39):
that's where your best songs come from, you know. So even in
your moments of strife, you knowyou want to you want to write,
but we'll talk about all that stuff. It's gonna be awesome. Man.
I'm super stoked about that. Butit has been thirty minutes. We don't
want to keep you out and wedon't want to life the whoop you ass.
So I think if you're happening eitherway, thank you, We're gonna
(33:00):
let you get off there and goin. You give your wife a big
old hug for me and a headyand we will definitely deal together and have
some drinks, maybe around a fireplaceor some firepit. I love fires.
That's what's up. I got afireplace and I have a firepit. So
we're set. And what is thatthat you just fixed on your back perch
(33:25):
on the back. Oh, it'sa hammock. It's a it is it's
it's a sitting hammock. Yeah,Like it's just oh like that one down
the road. Yeah, someone washanging from one in the tree the other
day and I was like, Iwant one. This one is like it
has a stand point stand on thebottom and then it's like it's like a
(33:45):
banana hammock h from a stand. That's freaking awesome. Yeah. I try
to set in it the other dayand I will lean too much forward and
like that's you mean, like repeatedly, I'll be hell you saying this sucker,
Like repeatedly, Daniel's that way.It that way, she can lay
(34:12):
on it and she can smell mecooking her dinner. That's definitely. So
it's called a barbecue watcher to allall those people that need to be in
the no that I need one ofthose. So I could say on barbecue
and not really be a barbecue. She says she wants to smell me barbecue
and fresh pineapple while she's playing, and literally put it right next to the
(34:37):
grill. That's where it's at.So the hammach is here, and then
right below the deck there's the grill. It's right here. That's why she
calls the barbecue watcher. But you'vegot it backwards. That would be my
seat because you're the barbecue, you'rethe griller. So I would That's what
(34:58):
I'm saying. If I put itright in next to the grill, I
can like flip the burgers while I'mlaying in it. It'd be perfect.
Did I think we got it onsale or something? You should have saw
the instructions. I wanted to.Oh, man, I wanted to.
I was spitting nails when I wasputting the thing together. Not one word,
not one word written, not onejust oh I hate those We're so
(35:24):
angry. I was like, whatis going on in the world right now?
I remember what was it that weput together. It was a show
for something. It was just likethat, and it's like I graduated from
picture books thirty years ago. Yeah, we paid someone to put our dresser
together because it looked like a nightmareand it took the guy three or four
(35:46):
hours to put the damn thing together. Yes, I couldn't. I'm gonna
have leftover screws and bolts and woodand all kinds of stuff. It's terrible.
Those things are terrible. It is. But yes, thank you so
much for showing up. And hey, no problem. Can't wait to get
(36:07):
together with you, and can't waitfor the nineteenth and twenty six because that's
gonna be phenomenal. Me too. We're gonna we're gonna get some as much
awesomeness those and those two absolutely asmuch awesomeness as we can. And I'm
gonna I'm gonna, really, I'mprobably gonna sit down and write out some
stuff. That way. I havesome good stories for you guys, and
(36:31):
so thank you so much for havingme. And I look forward to having
having some drinks over at my studiowith with everybody. Yes, yes,
that would be great. Yeah, but good night, thank you, all
right, later y'all later. It'snice meeting you're on here, Danielle.
