Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hello everybody, it is time for my famous or is
it infamous? Five random questions? I have Kiara Shiskin from
Informed Dot Now. Hi, Kara, Hey James, thank you for
having me my pleasure. So he and I are gonna
be on the shows you see behind me. It's called
Extra Connections. He's all about connecting and it's all about
news and connecting it a different way. You can watch

(00:24):
that interview simpilately on JILJ Media. But first, as you
guys know at home, I explained to him a second ago,
I'm gonna asking him five random questions, four questions geared
towards him, and the last question I ask every single person.
I've done it like four hundred times over the last
ten years. So, Kara Shiskin, are you ready to find
ready to answer five random questions?

Speaker 2 (00:46):
I am willing and ready.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Hell it Nu're one, Kierra. So Kiara wants a snack.
It's the middle of the day. What is one of
your go to snack foods?

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Okay? So uh many baby carrots that are already peeled,
dipped in a little sesame Hummas, which is a brand
we got in la Uh. That is just a new
take on homus.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
It says to me, hummas, I don't do carrots, right, says to me,
hummus does sound good. I'll try throw that's good. Number two.
You're in a you're on a road trip, You're you're
driving somewhere. You probably more than a few hours. What
is one musical artist or a band that has to
be on the playlist?

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Oh, you know, I I'm a big music enthusiast. I
spent a lot of time curating music, like digging through things.
You know, there are many who deserve this title, but
you know, I'll just throw at one that I've been
really enjoying recently. Is actually a local artist in la uh,
someone who came from Indiana, and he's one of the

(01:55):
band leaders and forces behind Duran Jones and the Indications.
And his name is Aaron Fraser.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Okay, I can look I gotta look him up. Maybe
maybe give my show I talked to you. That's very good.
We were at number three. Number three.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
I was kidding. I I'm so much your answer. I'm
going out with your answers. Number three. What is one
thing you wish you knew before you became an entrepreneur?

Speaker 4 (02:29):
Mm hmm, I've always, And I've heard this from a
lot of other intropters as well, but we all kind
of a lot of us feel like they should have
started earlier, and uh and how.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Like nothing maybe oh gosh, I'm being very articulate, but
like I think one one thing I really experienced a
lot is like why didn't I start sooner? Like why
haven't I started this journey sooner? Why haven't I started
like just building and trying to solve problems with my
own initiative rather than following, you know, enjoying other people's

(03:03):
solutions for the world. I think maybe you know, hand
in hand with that is I think I wish I've
invested in a personal brand also earlier on. And what
I didn't know before becoming an entrepreneur is how important
that is going to be and how important that is.
And so just like a couple of tangential reflections to

(03:25):
your question is like, one, you know, I wish it
started sooner, and so I don't know how that reflects
to answer your question directly, but it's related. And two
is I wish I knew the power of the personal
brand for an entrepreneur before I entered the fray.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
It's very true, folks. I mean, think about it.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
A lot of my fans know what they're getting when
they get me, and whenever I'm doing it, No, they're
getting James Lot, Junior, Jenny. They know where kind of
you know what I mean, Like they kind of know
what they're getting, whether it's something totally different I'm doing,
but they kind of go, oh, I know how he is,
and I love that.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
It's right true.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Therefore, it's what's more personal? What traits do you share
with the parents either. Did you notice yourself you go,
I'm like this like my mother, I'm like this like
my father.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
What kind of traits you share?

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Yeah, I'm lucky to have a lot of traits from
them and in the right mix of some dad mom,
you know, the right ones from each side. I think
I'm very stubborn in like a constructive way that comes
from definitely my mother's side. And yet I'm I feel
like I'm quick to forgive, and I think that's a

(04:40):
that's a parent as a dad's trait that I've always
been admired. Yes, I think quickness to forgive and stubborn,
which obviously has negative but also has very positive applications.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
I agree with that I was stubborn sometimes but a
good way. So that you have to be stubborn when
you're when you're sometimes you have to be really stubborn
in your belief so you believe in something. That's where
stubbor comes in play. But I think you probably liked
me on some level. You're also open to the universe
to learn. And I'll pivot if I have to you.
I mean, I'll I'll be I'll be stubborn to a point,

(05:15):
not to my detriment of my of my business, but
to lace like, Okay, I'll try this, maybe I'll try that.
But in the beginning, you have to be kind of
you have to believe in yourself. You have to be
kind of stubborn when you start. Yeah, I believe that.
And the last question is the question I ask everybody.
And so Kira is one or the other?

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Got it? So Kira's just getting apples? Are oranges?

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Apples? For sure?

Speaker 3 (05:44):
He said? For sure? Folks, He said, this is like, this.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Is such an easy question. I was thinking, go to
you know, hit me something harder. But you know, apples
and oranges, you know, are comparable and apples very clearly,
when this fight on on a lot of levels. You know,
Apple a day keeps the doctor away. No one's ever
said that about oranges, and for for fair reasons.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Well, it's funny.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
I've asked that question, I said about four hundred times,
and some folks we get stumped. They have been like,
I don't know, oh my god, or I've had one
person to go I don't eat either. So I was like, okay,
but one person brought that oranges have vitamin C.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
But apples have vitamins too. In fact, apple vitamins. There
must be some good vitamins and apples. Vitamin C seems
also to exist in apples, including vitamin A and E
and B and also K. That's a lot of letters
and I have no idea what they mean, but it

(06:51):
sounds like there are more vitamins on the apple side.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
See I guess the first time someone is ever on
my show looked it up.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
I love it. They said, you know you the first
you've made it first of something. I love this I do.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
