Speaker 1 (00:33):
Your country is desolate, Your city's burned with fire. Your
fields are being stripped by foreigners. Right before you laid
waste as overthrown by strangers. Daughter of daughter z Iion
is left like a shelter in a vineyard, like a

(00:55):
hut in a cucumber field, like a city under siege.
Unless the Lord Almighty has left us some survivors, we
would have become like Sodom. We would have been like Gomorrah.

(01:17):
Hear a word from the Lord. Your rulers of seldom
listen to the instructions our God, You people of Gomorrah.
The multitude of your sacrifice phaces, What are they to me?

(01:38):
Says the Lord. I have more than enough of burnt offerings,
of rams and of fatted animals. I have no pleasure
in the blood of bulls, lambs and goats. When you

(01:59):
come appear before me, who has asked this of you,
this trampling of my courts, Bring something. Stop bringing meaningless offerings.

(02:21):
Your instance is distasteful to distasteful to me new moons
and sabbath and co convocations. I cannot bear your worthless assemblies,

(02:43):
your new moon fests, and your appointed festivals. I hate
with all my being. They come. They have become a
burden to me. I am wory of bearing them. When
you spread out your hands in prayer and hide your

(03:07):
eyes from me, even when you offer many prayers, I
am not listening. Your hands are full of blood. Why
should and make yourselves clean? Take your evil deeds out
of my sight. Stop doing wrong, learn to do right,

(03:32):
seek justice, defend the oppress, take up the cause of
the fatherless, plead the case of the widow. Come now,
let us settle the matter, says the Lord. Through your

(03:53):
sins you are like scarlet. They shall be as white
as snow. Though they are as crimson, or red as crimson,
they shall be like woolf No interesting message here, and

(04:17):
the beginning of with desolate countries, cities being burned, and
barners stripping the fields, and some of what is actually
being talked about there can be applied today, but not

(04:41):
in the manner of what we're actually seeing, because when
they talk about your fields being stripped by foreigners, they're
not talking about immigrant workers coming to help harvest that

(05:08):
is welcome. If we look through scripture, we'll find out
that allowing migrants to come help you harvest is wanted
because you are offering a foreign person, a foreign traveler food,

(05:31):
they're offering them something of value so that they may
continue their travels. This isn't what this is being talked about,
because this is talking about being under See just means
that someone is trying to bade your home and still

(05:54):
the fruits of your labor. This is talking about because
you have put so much into the value of things
other than God's children and God's beings, God's love that
you have turned away from him. When you turn away

(06:16):
from him, things start to happen, and those the type
of things we're talking about aren't good. You're talking about
people turning against each other and trying to do harm
to each other, which we're seeing in today's society. We
are so separated. Everybody is isolated. We don't communicate well

(06:44):
with each other. Oh yeah, that's right. I texted my
friends all the time on the phone. I play video
games with them all the time. While when if you
sit into your house and the other one sits for
wherever his house is, we're seeing patterns where social gatherings.

(07:10):
So the only time people are gathering socially is to
protest something. There's not a lot of celebration, celebrating, celebrating
things in the name of love, God's love. We don't
do a lot of that. We do a lot of

(07:31):
finger pointing, Oh, well, there's something wrong with him because
he's not like me. That person isn't the same as me,
so I can't be around that. We take videos of
people ranting in stores instead of finding out what is wrong,

(07:56):
in trying to help them figure things out so they
can be happy with life. There's a lot of things
that are talking talked about, and in this there are
the problems, Yes, of sodom and goodmora, because they weren't

(08:23):
the burnt offerings, weren't those of love, the satabis, weren't
those of convictions towards God's love, and in celebrating what
he has done for us, there were and we're seeing

(08:45):
that when a global leader steps up to a microphone
and says that a group of people were born to
be criminals, we have a problem in our society. When

(09:16):
we see mass destruction of a city somewhere in the world,
that people are being killed by the thousands, we have
a problem in our society. The question is, what are

(09:39):
we who truly loved God, who truly love our fellow
human being. What are we going to do about it?
We can't continue just to sit back and do nothing.
We have to also turn our emotions, turns our feelings

(10:00):
towards God and ask him what it is that he
wants us to do. We have to step up to
our purpose, a purpose of loving God and doing what
he asks, holding our faith close to our heart, knowing
that God is going to walk with his hand in

(10:22):
hand as we follow his word, follow what he tells
us every day. Because God tries to speak to us
all every day, we just have to listen. He tries
to tell us that He wants to see us take

(10:46):
a stance for the oppressed. He tries to tell us
that He tries to tell us to seek justice for
all those around us, for those people out there. I've
seen a few of these, for those people who stood

(11:06):
between ice officers and those people who they were trying
to kidnap. That is what God wants us to do.
He wants us, maybe not in physical terms, but in
the best terms that we can. If it means writing letters,

(11:31):
then write letters, send emails, send emails to the right
officials until it stops. If it means at election time,
stepping up to the ballot box and casting a vote.

(11:55):
That's what we need to do. God is taught talking
to us, and he tells us what he wants from us.
There are a few things that and that happened because
we have the free will to stand for justice. It

(12:24):
is something that we have to choose. We have to
choose to defend the oppressed. We also have to choose.
It is a matter of choice to oppress others. We
have to choose to take in the father of us

(12:49):
of maybe more modern turns will say, those who who
have been orphaned, or those who have been pushed down
by our society or bullied by our society. We have
it is a choice to take up their cause. It

(13:11):
is part of our free will. We have to actually
welcome that choice every day. We have to choose every
day to speak for those who are being oppressed. And

(13:35):
every time we choose to speak for those who are
oppressed or to or to maybe is as much as
deliver a deal to someone who's in need, someone who
can't get out of their home. Maybe maybe that's all

(14:00):
it is. But every time you do something like that,
did you know that that is like a prayer to God,
telling him, God, I love you, so I'm going to
help my fellow human beings because he's also filled with
your love. That's what all this actually means. It means

(14:30):
stop literally, stop talking meanness to other people, Be kind,
be helpful. It is rewarding what you feel in your

(14:56):
heart when you're kind to another person, to another one
of God's beings, one of his children. It is real warning.
It is a choice, and a choice filled with fulfillment,

(15:18):
filled with love, filled with jolren. It does take strength,
and God offers plenty of it when we choose to
do the things that he asks of us. So we

(15:45):
wake up every morning and we should pray, and we're
going to do that now. Lord, help us to choose
your past. Help us to listen to what it is

(16:06):
that you want us to do. Help us to listen
to your word as you're speaking to us every day. Lord,
I want to walk every day holding your hand, not
only knowing that you will keep me safe, but you

(16:28):
will guide me to do the things that you need
me to do. For me. Film my soul with your
strengths so I can humbly do the things that you
ask of me. Help me to question everything that in

(16:53):
the right way, so that I understand what I'm doing
for people, that I understand when I have heard someone,
and I understand when I have lifted them up. Help
me every day, Lord, to be the conduit of your love.
