Speaker 1 (00:33):
Then I saw a new heaven and a new Earth.
For the first heaven and the first Earth had passed away,
and there was no longer any sea. I saw the
Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of the
(00:54):
sky from God, prepared as a bride, beautifully dressed for
her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the
throne saying, Look, God's dwelling placed is now among the people,
(01:16):
and he will dwell with them. They will be his people,
and God himself will be with them and be their God.
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will
(01:37):
be no more death or mourning, or crying or pain,
for the old order of things has passed away. He
will be seated on the throne, and I am making
everything new. Then he said, write this down, for these
(02:01):
words are trustworthy and true. He said to me, it
is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the
beginning and the end to the thirsty. I will give
water without costs from the spring of the water of life.
(02:24):
Those who are victorious will inherit all of this, and
I will be their God, and they will be my children.
But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the
sexual and moral, those who practice magic arts, the idlers,
(02:50):
and the liars. They will be consigned to the fiery
lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death. Well,
that was from Revelations and Revelations is interesting book because
(03:18):
one it is misplaced in the Bible in a lot
of cases. It is a vision and describes in very
visionary terms what some what what was offered as a
(03:42):
gift to the writer John I believe. So there's a
lot of messages in there, a lot of metaphors, and
a lot of things we should be looking for. But
(04:06):
here here it is at at the end of this
particular reading. Uh, it would be in verse eight, the cowardly,
the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, those who practice magic arts,
(04:31):
those who worship idols instead of worshiping God, and the liars,
those who speak untruths. Okay, so one truth. God created
(04:59):
us the way we're supposed to be, exactly how you
are supposed to be. And there's a lot of extremists
out there that are taking this to be a group thing,
(05:20):
and they're twisting it and turning it and so that
people are going to be excluded. Well, after reading what
is supposed to be excluded. It doesn't take a lot.
If you're a murderer, stop killing. If you are sexually
(05:46):
a moral pick a partner and stick with that person.
Build relationships. Stop just playing with people's emotions, build true relationships.
That's what this means for those who choose to worship idols.
(06:18):
The biggest idol that is being worshiped in today's society
is money. There is so much corporate greed out there
that you have to have the latest, greatest iPhone, You
have to have more hit, more hits, more followers than
your friends. That you have to be the best influencer.
(06:45):
What are you influencing people to do? If you're going
to be an influencer, what are you influencing them to do?
What by the most stylish pairs of shoes, the to
(07:07):
to twist themselves into whatever you are instead of them
being themselves? What are you teaching people to be if
you're an influencer, are you truly if truly listening to God?
(07:28):
Because God is going to tell you that he loves
you just the way you are, because that's why he
created you that way. He's not creating He didn't create
you to be the guy up the street. He didn't
create you to be the the guy down the street.
(07:49):
He created you to be exactly who you are. So
be that person. Build a relationship with God, and build
relationships with those people around you that are honest about
who it is that you are. Don't worry about having
(08:13):
a big bank account or be able to buy the latest, greatest,
whatever it is, It doesn't matter. What does matter is
building real relationships with real people, the person that's up
the street, helping them just I don't know, I'm gonna say,
(08:39):
take the garbage out whatever, be helpful that person. Sometimes
all it needs is a kind word. That's all you
need to do. But be that person, Be that person
who you're honestly supposed to be. Express yourself in honesty.
(09:04):
Don't worry about what the corporate message is. Don't worry
about that. Build a relationship with God honestly about being
his child. Nothing else, just being his child and being
(09:32):
grateful to being his child. You're happy that you're following
following God, that you're happy that you're talking to him,
that you're happy that there is this power that actually
is looking over you. Be happy about that, Be grateful.
(09:58):
Tell him that you're grateful. Tell God that you're grateful
that you are his child and he is looking out
for you. Things amazing things start to happen. Be grateful
for what it is is just there. Be grateful for
(10:19):
who it is that you are. Be grateful for the
path of life that you are following because it was
designed for you, not for anyone else, for you. Stop
worrying about what everyone else is doing, and only be
(10:42):
concerned with what it is that you are doing, and
that you're talking with the God, that you're building a relationship,
and that you are being helpful in your community, and
that you are making an impact that helps others be
who they're supposed to be. That you're making impact impact
(11:05):
that is full of God's love. That's what you should
be praying for every day. God, help us to be
that person that you want us to be that you created.
Help us to keep our eyes, our ears, and all
(11:28):
of our senses on all of our levels, be their spiritual, mental,
and emotional. All of those senses are open and alive
for you, so that we can communicate with you, listen
to you, feel you bring us into our lives so
(11:51):
that you can enrich us, enlighten us, and help us
understand what is going on around them us so that
we can see the beauty and the vision that you
have for the universes you created. Amen,
