Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, Falcon Crest fans, Welcome to a lot of drama
Fridays here on jail J Media.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
I want to read something to you which is very
cool that someone posted.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
I want to give give them their props and everything,
and we get up, me close all these things out.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
We look.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
I put it in here. How's everybody doing this Friday?
Every Friday? We do stuff on the soaps? Why can
I find I'm looking for them?
Speaker 2 (00:27):
One second? Shually had this ready for you guys. Oh,
here we go.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
So there's a person who posted this on the Falcon
Crest page on Facebook. I want to give them, hello
you guys. On a Crest page on Facebook, they had
posted a newspaper clipping about the finals to be the
final season of Falcon Crest and how it will be different.
It was written by Lane Crockett Forget It News Service.
(00:53):
They picture Gregory Harrison, who, by the way, was just
nominated for a Daytime Emmy for a Special Guest Starring
Daytime Emmy for his role on General Hospital this year
twenty twenty five. He looks just as goods you did
back then something about him being killed off spoiler. But
Falcon Crest, where he was a new character for the
(01:15):
last year. And I see, folks, I think I think
I expressed this earlier in the in my episodes here.
I loved the last season. It was a risk. It
was a risk. I just told people didn't like it.
I just wanted to focused on what the f I
enjoyed it. Oh, Michael sharp stuff. So the title is
this season's Falcon Crest will be different, of a different vintage.
(01:35):
Obviously playing other words, I'm quoting some of the stuff.
So the mandate CBS Gay producer Jerry Thorpe, the season
was to turn around the network's Falcon Crest.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
So and you know, the year out of it.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
And so this guy, Jerry Thorpe, producer said he he
has I've done quote, I've done everything except for SOA barberam.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
So you're right.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
They go on to write on and say that, you know,
they feel like conventional shops are starting to die. We've
heard that over the decades, right, but you need to die.
And so he says, quote, we're going to change the
show's rhythms, which he did.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
I mean that last season was a whole different pacing.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
As an example, traditionally, major scenes tend to run five
six seven pages become somewhat talking. You're always at the
risk of them playing long out long before they're over hours.
Not will not exceed two to that pages. That's what's
really interesting, Folks, think about that one a second. The
(02:45):
show took a different visual style to that last season.
There was more action that last season. It was a
whole different energy. And just give you guys an idea
at home. You know when they say five six pages
of scene and stuff, that's a big deal.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
Like that's that's you know, you're.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Taking a lot of dialogue out when you go down
to teach, you and have pages, that's a real big deal.
He says that the article says five custs will retain
this Tuscany value roots, which it did. But there but
he said, you can actually watch he says, quote you
(03:25):
can watch one episode and derive some satisfaction from it.
He compared this new season to the show Wise Guy,
remember with that show, which was a huge hit at
the time. Uh he kept He mentioned that several times
in the saying that there will just be arcs, like
(03:50):
five or six episodes arcs, and that the characters will
have less of a sense of pure Britain aristocracy across
the board. There will be intrusions from some really negative characters,
which there were were and Thorpe says the show will
(04:11):
not be using name stars, but rather good solid character
actors as guests. That's a big thing too. Sun Crest
brought on the old world stars we're talk about on
the show once before an episode. Before they brought those on.
That was a big deal. They always had the old
world stars, which.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
We like seeing. Of course, a lot of these.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Gina Little Bridgeta and and you know a lot of
Turner and all that.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
We love seeing all these old stars back then. So
she's Romero.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
But your character actors are good too. Character actors are
There's some great charac tractors out there. It's an amajor
new character played by Gregory Harrison, formerly of Trapper John Emp.
That was his whole I think it was Trapper John
d being the young hot doctor say that his characterold
be similar to Michael Douglas's Gordon Greco in Wall Street.
And that's exactly what it was from the stick back
(05:05):
here and everything. It was all that was all there
and totally they say changed the look. And this guy
says they they they keep Nimu of the shows like Miami,
Vice equalized all these shows. Uh As, I was kind
of cool it was gonna. The article is gonna was
(05:25):
talking about the show was airing that night at ten
pm on Friday, of course as usual, and just I
had I really, I don't remember any articles about it.
I remember watching it in real time. My brother Jed
and I both really enjoying. I don't know my brother's
name is j R.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Kind of ironic.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
We we enjoyed that last season because it was so different,
and that's a risky move, like Dallas doing a dream
season and then writing it off or not sending one season.
Did all these shoulder pads and she got Travilla to
do all It's like it was crazy, like some work,
some down.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Things work.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
So I get it. It's like it was they were
trying to do. They were trying to save the show,
give another and give it another year, and for some
viewersers too much or change, which I would not argue
with you. I totally get it. I agree with you.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
It's trying.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
I get it, but I did enjoy it. I thought
it was risky, but I'm giving all props. You go
to the it's a Falcon crest. I believe it's called
official Facebook page. They posted that article and you went
a good page over there. I just got going occasion
and see what they post. I'm not one for participating
(06:36):
so much. I just kind of like to see what's
going on, So check them out. I'm James I Gior.
Every Friday we do we do all the sub show.

few on video if we want to see a few,
