is sky Gguaisky. You can find me on X at
sk y g u a sco. We got a fun
one tonight. We're looking ahead to a mock draft for

(02:52):
twenty twenty five. I have gone off script and I've
done a mock draft by myself without anybody else knowing
on our team. But I brought in my good friend
without any further ado here, mister Derek Favrett is gonna
be joining me this evening. That's Derek Underscore Fabret on X.
He will be reacting blindly to my mock draft. He
has not seen this per request. With thought it'd be
more fun if I break down who my picks are

(03:14):
for the first two rounds of the twenty twenty five
PPR mock Draft in redraft for now. Again, we're still
in the NFL playoffs. A lot of this is gonna
be TBD, but it's kind of fun to see where
these players have landed versus where they were drafted last year.
That's I think the most important thing that I'm realizing now.
Guys like Jamar Chase and you know, Christian McCaffrey, Justin Jefferson,

(03:35):
Ceedee Lamb. Those guys were already at the top upper echelon.
But there are other guys, some rookies right that have
climbed into that number one round, maybe in early number two,
and maybe some surprises positionally as well that have backed
into the second round two. So I've only got two
rounds for you tonight. We're gonna go through each pick
twenty four picks. I'm gonna give you who my pick
is at that spot, and Derek's gonna react to it

(03:57):
once again. Anyone join it in. You can feel free
to jump in into the comments section right now. Let
me know if you agree with my picks, if you
disagree with my picks, and why it's really easy to say, Sky,
what the hell are you talking about. If that's your answer,
I want to know why it's a crazy pick. If
you agree, just give us a thumbs up there, Derek,
good evening man, thanks for joining us, Epic Fail coming

(04:18):
in hot miss y'all. We missed you too, Buddy and
Epic Fail. I want to say real quick before Derek
jumps on, we have some things happening in the back end,
and we want to make sure that some of our
loyal followers, listeners, viewers who have been with us all
off season every Sunday morning in the articles, you guys
get a little special treatment around here in ras Ball
Epic Fail. What we would like to do is if

(04:40):
you could either drop your email address or maybe a
social media handle in the comments, Instagram, X, whatever it is,
so we can get a hold of you personally. Bud.
We would like to reach out to you. I'll leave
it at that, and we do want to reach out
to you specifically for all of your support here in
the last season, So drop a handle below, no phone
number on and I don't want anybody who's not supposed

(05:01):
to reach out to you reaching out to you, But
drop us a handle and one of us will get
ahold of you from the RAS ball side. We do
have something for you. So appreciate you too, buddy, and
hope your seasons went well. Derek, good evening, my man
mock draft one oh one. I know I'm in I
know I'm insane, but I also know I'm not the
only one looking ahead to twenty twenty five. So far,

(05:23):
it is really in the season, man, But what are
you taking away from a mock draft before the free
agency and NFL combine and the draft has even happened.
We're still in twenty twenty four in NFL terms, twenty
twenty five. This is not dynasty, it's redraft. What are
you actually taking away from a draft?

Speaker 2 (05:39):
It's easy, yeah, and in fact, there's already best ball
out there you can draft in so if you want
to do it for real, I mean there are there
are out there. But yeah, this is time to really
get some value.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
You know.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
This fall season is always here over really early, and
there's there's a lot of rolling the dice. But h yeah,
you get a lot of value. You take take some
chance on some players that you know they may be
under everyone else's radar yet, but you know, if you've
done your homework and and you you know, you see
some some value there. This is a great time to

(06:12):
take advantage of that. So a lot of fun to
do drafts, whether back or for real at this time
because you know, you're really seeing how all things are
going to start to shake out when you know, when
everyone else comes award and and you kind of have
some opportunity to shape the way the draft board will
look like, you know, by you know, those early drafts

(06:35):
kind of start set the early ADP. So it's fun
to do and and you know you can really, uh again,
take advantage of the early draft season. So a lot
of fun.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
I totally agree. And you think about some players last year,
Mike Evans, Rashid shiheid Alvin Kamara, guys getting drafted in
the middle rounds that should have been maybe third fourth rounders.
They're getting draft it's seven, eight nine, so keep an
eye out that for that. I do know that I
have a little bit of a lag here, Derek, So
if I pop out or anything gets anything gets funky there,
please feel free to just take over while everything loads

(07:12):
up here. So if we are good to go, can
you please bring up the draft board so we can
get rolling on the mock all right, so we have
a mock draft right here. We are using Sleeper. Not
a sponsor yet, but Sleeper. Feel free to reach out
if you'd like to. We would love to pump your
content and help out here on the mock drafts. So
we're going to walk through each of our We we

(07:32):
don't actually have a draft room. This is just my draft.
Dereck Shanna react to it running the back end here.
So we're going to post each one of our picks.
So on the clock here at one oh one. Last year,
of course, Christian McCaffrey, we all know what happened there.
Poor went out from my boy. This year, I'm gonna
go wide receiver and my one on one here is
no surprise, I'm sure, but it's Jamar Chase and Jamar

(07:55):
Chase winning the triple Crown. First player to do that
since twenty nineteen when my boy Cooper cut Up, who
used to be the best wide receiver in football, took
that down. Jamar Chase last year was actually the wide
receiver three in drafts. He was overall number six. Comes back,
Joe Burrow lights the league on fire. They lost a

(08:16):
couple close games early on, so the Bengals, of course
not in the playoffs and didn't get that offense to
showcase on the bigger stages. But t Higgins and Jamar
Chase went nuts, Chase Brown with nuts in this offense.
Joe Burrow was probably the MVP if the Bengals won
a few more games. Absolutely incredible season. But Jamar Chase
one oh one for me, more consistent than Justin Jefferson.

(08:39):
Both have a similar ceiling. But with the QB situation
in Minnesota right now, I'm just not sure how I
feel about that if I'm picking at number one, so
it is Jamar Chase. You could go running back here,
you could go another wide receiver. But for me right now,
Derek in January, it's Jamar Chase. Thoughts on that at
one on one.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Yeah, I really liked this one. Actually, I'm I tend
to you know, if I have a choice, I tend
to pick in the middle rounds. And like you said,
he was either the third or the full fourth wide
receiver off the board in most cases. I got him,
you know in seven or even in eight, you know before,
So the value there was tremendous, you know for what

(09:19):
turned out to be you know, one of if not
the best Fantasy wide receivers of the year, you know, arguably,
but yeah, I love it. I don't think he'll be
number one. You know, it comes time. So this is
again where it's one of those times where you know
maybe there's some value not not necessarily with one on one,
but you know with if you're going to be drafted

(09:41):
someone like Chase you know at four or five, you know,
but you take a chance at once and see how
this turns out, having him at one one, and then
see who you get at the turn. So a lot
of fun. I'm big on wide receivers early, and this
is the guy, uh, one of one of probably two
guys that I look for regardless of where I him

(10:04):
on the board. So yeah, I like this.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Pick excellent, And you know we'll go right off that
I'm gonna take my first running back at one oh two.
It's b Jhon Robinson. Again, you could go Jamiir Gibbs.
I don't think that other wide, you know, Saquon Barkley,
Derek Henry of course let the league on fire this year.
But we're gonna come back to the age thing. We're
gonna come back to blah blah, blah, see what happens.

(10:26):
So I don't think those two guys are going to
be in the top two and obviously not obviously, but
it won't be Christian McCaffrey unless he is one hundred
percent healthy way before camp, which we'll see if that happens.
So for right now, it is Bjon Robinson finally took
that massive step we expected last year in Atlanta. Kirk
Cousins was on fire for the first half of the

(10:47):
season and then fell off a cliff. Obviously, we know
about that many losses. His interceptions was insane. Bijon Robinson
lost out a little bit to that. Drake London took
a massive step up this year as well, but that
all offense just looks great, high powered. Not a lot
of defense in that division overall, a ton of indoor
games with all those domes. So I love Bjon Robinson

(11:09):
at number two. You can make an argument that he's
number one if you think his receptions are going to
continue and he has that upside. He doesn't score the
way that I need my number one player to play
and Chase does you know Jefferson can, Gibbs can, Saquon
and Derrek Henry did Christian McCaffrey would obviously if he's healthy.
So a little bit shaky there on Jon Robinson. But

(11:31):
last year he was the third running back behind Breese
Hall and Christian McCaffrey. He was fifth overall, just ahead
of Jamar Chase last year, so top five pick. He
returned value and I love that. So right now he's
my number one running back. He is my number two
pick overall again, Folks PPR Redraft Single Quarterback Leagues, Derek.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
Thoughts, Yeah, b John is going to be one of
you know, three maybe four running backs who will all
be in the top of the of the draft in
the first round. You know, by the time you know,
August rolls around.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
You know.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Yeah, I'm a fan of wide receiver, so I'm gonna
be happy if I see a bunch of running backs
go early. But you know, Bijon, he's, like you said,
he made he's stucked out this year. He's become you know,
if he's not a star yet, he's he's darn close.
And so it doesn't surprise me. I'll see a bunch

(12:24):
of Jon Robinson picks as the running back one, you know,
whether it's at one, one, one, two, or one three.
He's he's gonna be the first running back off the
board for a lot of teams. So this NICs a
lot of sense.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
Awesome Third up one oh three. This one's controversial right
off the bat, and I totally get it, but I
don't think the two headed monster in Detroit matters enough
to Tea to keep out the current version of Alvin Kamara,
and that's Jamier Gibbs. Jamior Gibbs last year was the
running back six on draft Day. He ended up much

(12:58):
better than that obviously this year, but he was a
thirteenth pick overall. He was a sixth running back off
the board last year, and it's pretty early to call
him a league winner at that draft pick, but he
was a league winner down the stretch. He was absolutely unstoppable,
thirty plus Fantasy points to multiple games with David Montgomery out.
David Montgomery is set to come back this week once
the Lions resume play in the NFL playoffs, So we'll

(13:20):
see what David Montgomery does and how he looks obviously
the rest of this NFL season and in the offseason.
I understand this is probably a stretch because when they
played together, Gibbs is more of like a five to
eight running back, but he has the upside and nobody
can stop this offense when they're running on all cylinders.
So for me, you know, maybe you don't have to
draft Gibbs at the third overall pick. You probably will not,

(13:42):
But for me, I think it's this early on just
a vouch of how much I like this player. Last year,
I actually had him as a running back four. The
consensus had him in running back six. So I caught
a little bit of value on him in last draft season.
I don't see that happening this year. If you like
Derek and you go wide receiver early, he'll probably fall
outside the top five. Even better for me, right now,

(14:03):
I'm willing to take him in the third spot. And again,
this is a PPR league. He's got the touchdown upside,
he's got the rushing upside, he's got the receiving chops.
Great offense, indoor team, best offense and team in the
NFC right now, I don't think you see anything changing,
even with the Montgomery coming back, great offensive line, great defense.
Jamire Gibbs is top three for me.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Yeah, I mean I just said, you know, there's there's three,
maybe four running backs who are going to be high
in the first route, and this is one of them.
You know, they excel together Montgomery and gives excel together,
and he excels on his own. And so depending on
what we see with Detroit, you know, right the rest
of the way through the playoffs, you know, if Detroit succeeds,

(14:48):
I mean there's they're just surrounded by talent, but a
lot of it's going to be on Gibbs as well.
So if Detroit succeeds, that's just going to really push
up Gibbs draft value for next year. So I don't
I don't think that this is unrealistic to think that
Gibbs can be you know, third or even the fourth

(15:08):
pick of the draft. I mean, he had over fifty receptions.
Like you said in PPRLYA, that's just gold or as
what Snoop says, peanut butter but jelly and on gold.
So this is a great pick regardless of where you
get him. And he's a player that you're going to
feel real good about drafting next year again, regardless of

(15:30):
where you get him in the first round.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
And if David Montgomery does come back and they're mixing
matching Gibbs is maybe a top six running back, not
top three. But if David Montgomery goes down again, you
know what the upside is. And that's just an upside
that running backs including Bjon Robinson don't have right now.
So I love that. Reminds me so much of Alvin Kamara,
the way that he runs and avoids big hits. I
think back to Kamara and mark Ingram in twenty seventeen

(15:54):
when they were both playing together. They were both top ten.
Ingram went down, Kamara became the number one running back overall.
We could see that again for Jamier Gibbs. He's my
third pick overall, second running back, all right, number four,
one oh four here, no surprise. Justin Jefferson. You could
take Chase. You could take Jefferson. For me, it's Chase,
no question about it. When healthy. You could take Jefferson

(16:14):
at number two or three. I wouldn't have an issue
with that. For me. It's not the player, it's the
rest of the team. You're gonna hear that theme throughout
the rest of my draft. JJ McCarthy, Sam Donald, Which
Sam Donald number one seed, Sam Donald? Fourteen to one
Sam Donald or the last two weeks nine sacks in

(16:35):
the game against the Rams to end the season looked horrendous. Unfortunately,
the last two weeks Jefferson had nothing to do with that.
Addison's healthy, Hawkinson's healthy, Aaron Jones turned back the clock
this year. They were unstoppable. Jones or Donald fell off
a clip. Unfortunately, Is he going to be retained? Are
they going to pay him? Are they going to kick
him out of Minnesota? Do they get JJ McCarthy? Jj

(16:55):
McCarthy hasn't played in the NFL yet? Right in real snaps,
what are you gonna get in Minnesota? And how consistent
is that for Justin Jefferson. I know he is incredible,
but he had Kirk Cousins, who is viable. Then he
had sam Donold who was playing out of his mind
the first fourteen games fifteen games of the season. What
are you gonna get with the rookie quarterback? Essentially next year?

(17:16):
We shall see. So right now, he's in my top
four and top five out of respect for him personally,
but does he have it upper top three echelon to
pass Chase and to pass these other top end running
backs For me? I don't think so. Love Jefferson, We'll
see what happens come August, But right now he's the
fourth pick overall, second wide receiver.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
Yeah, like we talked about, you know before we kick
this off with you know, these early drafts, you know
you're really gonna see reaction, you know, reaction to just
what just happened. So you know, if you're drafted in
this week, you know, Jefferson's probably gonna be in the
ladder first round. Yeah, just because you know the uncertainty,

(17:57):
like you said at quarterback, you know, what's this team
gonna look like next year? You know, they ended kind
of on a sour note, and that's going to affect
Jefferson's draft stock to me. And so if you're drafting
right now and your you know, pick nine or pick ten,
you might have a good shot at drafting someone like

(18:17):
justin Jefferson. Now, by the time August comes around or
you know, Labor Day, before Labor Day, that's probably gonna change.
He's going to go back to about this area where
he is right now. But you know, there's there's definitely
an opportunity for with someone like Jefferson if you draft
right now, uh, to actually get some value and get

(18:38):
him later in the first round. So I agree with you,
you know, talent wise and out of respect, you know,
he he belongs in this four or five range. So
having him at four is not is not much of
a stretch, but because that's what you know, that's where
he belongs, this sort of talent belongs. But you know,
the realistic as of drafting this early. You know, whether

(19:02):
be mock or or in the best ball, he's probably
gonna be available later in the first round. So, but
interesting opportunities for someone like Justin Jefferson right now.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
Last year he was wide receiver four off the board
behind Tyreek Hill. Remember Tyreek Hill folks, Tyreek Hill, Ceedee
Lamb and Jamar Chase. Jefferson was number four. Because we
were concerned about this last year, Kirk Cousins goes right
out of town to Atlanta. We're not sure what they're
going to get to get Sam Darnold. They got a
rookie Jaj McCarthy. Eh, And here we go with Justin

(19:35):
Jefferson still being a top five player. So I expect
him to repeat that. I'm just a little unclear at
this point. Again, we're eight months away from draft day.
But in first comes a shove it it's at Jefferson
at number four, number five here, Pukainakua, you can go
a number of different directions. I had a tough time
rounding out my top five here. There's about six players

(19:57):
I could put in this top five slot, depending on
how your team are gonna draft. For me, though, it's
kind of a bitter sweet bittersweet here, Derek pokin Akua
being a top five pick means that I have to
succeed surrender to Cooper Cup being Cooper Cup. He isn't.
I've held on as long as I could. I backed

(20:19):
him last year. I drafted him, and I'm in five leagues.
That's not dynasty because my players are my players in dynasty.
But I drafted him in five leagues I could. This year,
every single league loved it, hated it, loved it, hated
it more, benched him at the end of the season,
even when he was playing, and thank goodness, I was
able to super sad Cooper cuple I'll get into him
in the off season, but pokin Akua has become the truth.

(20:41):
Quickly shout out to our boy Styles calling him out
two years ago in the sixteenth round. It panned out.
He was incredible last year, comes back, your first second
round draft capital, comes back and is that dog again.
He was wide receiver eight off the board last year.
He was about our front round second rounder at pick
fourteen last year. But comes back in points per game,

(21:01):
unstoppable in the playoffs, racking up his points as well.
So I'm gonna go Pooka akud around out my top five.
That's two running backs, three receivers, Chase Jefferson and Pokinaka
and don't tell styles. I don't. I'm getting too excited
this time of year. I almost put Pooka at number
four with Jefferson at number five.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
Yeah, I mean he's clearly alpha there on a you know,
off a young team, you know, besides the quarterback, a
young team that's really you know, their their trajectory is
still moving up. And he's clearly all that. I mean,
he's just a dog out there. He plays hurt, he
just makes plays. I mean he's one of those players
that you know, stans just love, you just fall in

(21:42):
love with a guy like that. He works hard. I mean,
he's a he's a he's a you know, every every
down player.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
You know.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
When he's out there, he's given it is all so
whether he's blocking, whether he's making past receptions, you know, whatever,
he's he's just a great player. So yeah, it's a
probably it's a high for me yet, but I see
what you're doing and I can't argue with it too much.
You know, remember you said, you know he was you know,

(22:10):
early second round. He was kind of right after turn
or just after the turn, but that was really driven
by his injury. You know, in training camp he you know,
limped into the first or the early part of the season.
So right there at draft season, you know, his draft
value was was taken a hit because of injury. And
you know, if he had been healthy going in, he

(22:31):
probably was going to be a more likely or not
a late first rounder. So you know, the way he's
played this year on that team, that team is actually
you know, wasn't really supposed to go anywhere, and here
they are now, you know, in the you know, in
the divisional rounds. So uh yeah, Phoka is going to

(22:51):
be a solid mid first round pick regardless. And and
he's one of those players said you know, if it
wasn't if he doesn't get injured and he plays the
full year, he's gonna be a safe bet. To return
that value. You know, so many times we see first
rounders who don't return value. He's one of those players

(23:13):
that you really feel comfortable that he's going to return
that first round value, you know, if he's if he
stays healthy.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
My only concern, of course, is injury. That's it. We
can't predict injuries. We can't avoid injuries on purpose unless
they're hurt coming in. But he you know, he missed
another four games this year. Like, if he's hurt, he's hurt, right,
Cooper Cup got hurt and he was out. When Cooper
Cup was healthy, he was a dominant. But we say
it all the time, Matt Stafford picks his guy and
he peppers him. It was Calvin Johnson for a decade,

(23:41):
then it was Cooper Cup for three years. Now it's
Pooka Nakua and I want that player in fantasy football.
Hookah slides into my top five and he would have
been ahead of Justin Jefferson if I'm not concerned about
the injury. So right now he's my third wide receiver
on the board, number four. This player should also be
top five, But I don't know what's going on in
Dallas on offense. So I got a stick seed Lamb

(24:02):
outside the top five. Last year, he was the consensus
wide receiver one off the board. Of course, folks remember
in twenty twenty three he was far and away the
best wide receiver in fantasy football. He started super hot,
got a quick injury, came back, and then he won
championships in the back half. I love to see that
crazy twenty twenty four season. Obviously, even with Dak. Before

(24:24):
Dak went down, he had a tough time. He only
had four total touchdowns down the stretch. He was wide
receiver five from Week eight after the bye to Week sixteen.
A lot of that with Cooper Rush obviously, But I'm
just not I don't know what's happening with Mike McCarthy
now out. We don't know who the coach is, at
least at the time of this broadcast here, Coach Prime

(24:45):
is in the mix. So does that mean should or
Sanders gets drafted automatically and then is Dak out of town?
Where is should were gonna sit behind Dak? I don't
think Coach Prime is gonna allow that to happen. So
I'm not sure what's going on with the offense there
in Dallas again, just like Justin Jefferson. Question marks with
the team, no question marks with the player with CD
its motivation. If he is excited to be out there,

(25:06):
dude's an animal. But he is one of these guys
kind of you know, keishan Ocho, Cinco, Antonio Brown. If
he's not excited to be out there, I could see
him dogging it a little bit, and I can't have
that as a top five player. Love me some Cede
Lamb when he's healthy and when he's right. I don't
know he's gonna be so right now, he's just outside
the top five. He's my fourth wide receiver off the
board for sixth overall at one oh six.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
Thoughts there, Derek, Yeah, this is why I love drafting
in the middle, you know, having a middle draft slot.
You know, players like this just fall to you. I
mean I want you love to start a draft in
the middle of the middle, or even a little bit
later in the first round and end up with something
like Ceede Lamb. Yeah, I mean true. There is a

(25:49):
lot of question marks now between I think you said
the coach who's going to quarterback? You know, who else
are they going to bring in? I mean, I think
he needs a compliment. I saw a report today that
perhaps someone like Garrett Wilson may end up on the
Cowboys opposite Ceedee Lamb. I mean, that's that's actually going

(26:09):
to help him. So if the Cowboys are able to
find him a compliment, you know, like Jamar Chase has
Higgins as his compliment, and you just see, you know,
the two of them work so well together. You know,
Ceedee Lamb needs that compliment as well, whether it's Dak
or if it's going to be someone else a quarterback,

(26:30):
Kirk Cousins maybe, you know. But anyway, yeah, great value here.
He has the potential still to be you know, wide
receiver one. So if you're getting him at wide receiver
four or even five, you're really feeling good about this
in the first round.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
Likewise, I don't like question March with my first round picks.
These guys are as safe as they come when healthy
and once everything's settled. So I actually it would be
okay with CD, but wanted to pace myself a little
bit there. Seventh pick. Here, we're gonna go back to uh,
back to the well, back to fantasy legend status where
he was as a rookie. Bring me Saquon Barkley, give

(27:11):
me a touchdown to end the playoff game for all
of our betters, give me two thousand yards because they
could have played him for a half against the Giants
and got that record. Either way. Saquon Barkley probably the
best clubhouse guy at the position in the entire NFL.
He'd be the number one guy if George Kittle didn't exist.
But I'll take kill over Barkley for now. Saquon last

(27:31):
year was a running back five because we weren't sure
what was gonna happen to Philadelphia. Is he gonna return
to favor Is it gonna be toush push season, Kelsey's gone?
What are they gonna do in Philly? Run for two
thousand yards? Dude's a beast. Pick number twelve last year,
I'm gonna take him in the top seven again. Depending
on what happens in Minnesota, what happens in Dallas, Pokinakua's

(27:51):
health over the season. Saquon might even creep into.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
My yeah, lost this guy. But let me go ahead
and speak to sa Quand I mean you said his
ADP put him at the turn last year at twelve thirteen.
I was in some drafts. Frankly, he fell to fifteen
or sixteen. I mean there was just some uncertainty coming

(28:17):
out of New York going to Philly, what you know,
what he was gonna be? And you know is was
was he gonna you know, live up to his rookie
status and those expectations, or was he gonna, you know,
just be another running back, you know, a good running
back that just doesn't find his potential. We saw him
find his potential. So I mentioned again earlier three maybe

(28:40):
four running backs, and Barkley was was certainly the other one,
the third that I was looking at that that could
all go frankly in the in the top three or
four after the year that they had. So getting Barkley
in as a seventh pick, I mean you just have
to be beside yourself with the lights there. So yeah,

(29:01):
great pick at seven.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
And then again in PPR leagues, you know you have
that receiving upside, great offense. You know, I think the
Eagles are gonna be just fine and Barkley's gonna be
just fine again. And if you missed out, basically all
was saying if I cut out, there was just that
we had question marks coming in Philadelphia he solved all those,
they're gonna be even better. And we'll see what happens
in the NFL playoffs as they are still happening mid January.

(29:24):
Per the right number eight. Let's keep it at running
back and let's keep our fingers crossed. Derek Christian McCaffrey
we have. I mean, if he's playing, If he's playing,
he's got to be a top ten pick in my opinion,
and he's just ahead of the next two guys for now.
If we're getting Christian McCaffrey back, I know that's a
long shot. I know his calves are out. I know

(29:45):
he's got tenanitis. I'm worried about it as well. We'll
see what happens. Christian McCaffrey. Christian McCaffrey, dude's a Fantasy
Hall of Famer. I'm just gonna hope that he's healthy
for right now on a great offense that bounces back
when everybody's back. Give me running back four off the board,
middle to late first round, Christian McCaffrey. If he's healthy,
he's winning your league.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
Yeah, certainly immense talent, but you know, huge question marks
if he's going to be able to get back to
where he was before. If he does, you're you know again,
you know, eighth pick, and you're just you're coming out
of that with potentially you know, the top running back
or the top fantasy scorer you know out there. So

(30:26):
but it comes with a huge risk. I think there's
gonna be a lot of people who are gun shy
after this year going with him. I know, I think
we're going to see him at least through a stretch
maybe until we get into training camp and we can
actually get eyes on him and his health. He might
even fall out of the first round next year. I

(30:46):
think there's just gonna be so many people who who
either were burnt by him or or just are so
scared to make that mistake, you know, with their first pick,
that he might even fall out of the first round.
So yeah, super risk, but super reward as well here,
So I don't I don't mind it. I probably wouldn't

(31:06):
do it myself. There's a couple other players who I
like here a little bit better. But I see, I
see where.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
You're going, and you know, maybe if he falls out
of the first round, we're even more excited about that.
Right we catched like Cooper Cup was gonna be a
first rounder. Then he was injured, he came back whatever,
Dereck Henry fell out of the first round, he became
Derrick Henry again. So I like it a lot this Yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
This year, you know, we saw you know, someone like
Saquad you know, in the second second round, you know,
pairing up with you know, a stud wide receiver that
you've got in the first round, with Saquon in the
second round. Look how that turned out. Yep, you know,
so that this could be the same thing next year
that that we saw this year with with Saquon and

(31:49):
and you know whoever they picked in the first round.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
In one particular league, I lost to the championship because
I just had too many injuries by that point. But
I had Saquon Barkley and Derreck Henry drafted on the
turn and a half PPR league. We were unstoppable until
the championship week. Like it just didn't happen. So we lost,
but we were unstoppable on that way, all right. Christian McCaffrey,
I know it's the risky one, but that's how I'm
gonna go with there at eight for now. Some of

(32:13):
my rankings are based into this too. I know it's
kind of early for a mock, but we're going with
the eighth pick. This guy right here probably should and
probably will be ahead of Christian McCaffrey at least maybe
even a little bit further. That's all mon Rossaint Brown
in the ninth pick. I know Matt loves him, I
know we all love him on rasball and why not

(32:33):
wide receiver PPR three and he had seven games of
twenty plus PPR points. Of course, we love that consistency,
twelve touchdowns on the year, he had eight consecutive games
with the score and then he had another run of
three consecutive games through the Fantasy playoffs. Dude, as safe
as they come again avoiding injury. He was wide receiver

(32:59):
last year. He who's late off the board last year,
I think in the back half of the first second
round in most drafts. But then that PPR came around
and he stacks it up on this offense. So here
we are. We have Gibbs and Saint Brown from the
same team coming out in the first round. But we've
seen that happen in the past. I think it can
happen again here with the Lions. So give me almanas

(33:20):
Saint Brown is my wide receiver one in the back
half of the first round. But again you can still
get a lot of talent there in the front half
of the second round.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
Yeah, I'll just just let you know, if you're in
a draft with me next year, no chance I'm kicking
and I'm picking before night, You're not going to get
I'm on our Sa Brown. I can just tell you
that right now. Yeah, tremendous value here at pick nine
in my opinion. You know, he came out of the
season as the about the fifth I would say, about

(33:50):
the fifth ranked fantasy player, you know, amongst the skill
position players behind you know, Barkley, Gibbs, Chase, you know
he's that rings So to get him at ninth is
a huge steal. In my opinion, I would have probably
taken him as early as five or six, to be
honest with you. So, uh yeah, great value here, and

(34:13):
you know that that's the beauty of again picking, you know,
drafting early, you know you're you're gonna find, especially in
these later round you're gonna find this value. It's going
to be there, and you know you're you're gonna maybe
get some shares of players like this later on that
you might not be able to get because they're going
to be you know, in the in the early parts
of the of the draft, and you're just not going

(34:33):
to get him. So yeah, well I love this and this,
this is why this is so much fun to draft
this early.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
He was wide receiver three last year off the board.
He's wide receiver three to end it. So very consistent there,
and again I'm sure he'll be ahead of Christian McCaffrey.
I just had to put them on there so we
don't forget about what Christian can actually do. Number ten
here maybe a surprise, maybe not certainly earned Malik Neighbors.
Without a quarterback, this kid can only go up. He

(35:00):
onto the scene obviously with Daniel Jones, who doesn't even
have a job. He had Drew Locke, he had, you know,
Tommy two hands. If he gets any respectable quarterback in
New York, he could be the wide receiver one frankly overall,
and I want that upside. He's got twenty three PPR
Fantasy points per game to start the season. He was

(35:23):
the number one wide receiver over the first four games
before he had as a rookie. Of course, before he
had that concussion that put him out two and a
half games, took him a minute to come back. When
he did, it was with the vengeance. From seven to
Week eighteen, he was the PPR wide receiver nine, and
he blew up in your fantasy football playoffs as well.
He's not He's going to be a top five pick

(35:44):
next year. I can guarantee it, assuming he stays healthy.
Buy the quote unquote value and dip right now while
you can. He's going to be unattainable in Dynasty league,
So your only chance is going to be best ball
and redraft. So Malik Neighbors is somebody I wanted all
my teams, and again a lot of question marks in
New York, but it can only go up for him
in my opinion. So while I'm a little bit concerned

(36:04):
about Jefferson and Lamb for now, whatever Milie Neighbors gets
is going to be better than what he's had. Kids amazing.
He's in the top ten pick for me.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
Yeah, remember when we were debating between you know, Marvin
Harrison Junior and Milik Neighbors, which rookie is going to
be the you know, the the better player for fantasy
And you know most most everyone you know would chose
Marvin Harrison junior, and he was going in the at
the one two turn and in many cases where his
neighbors would fall into the third round. And boy, if

(36:34):
we could go back and redraft, yeah for sure, he's
going to be, you know, in that range now this
year where you know, last year we were talking about
Garrett Wilson at the eleven or the twelve, you know
at the turn. You know, Neighbors are going to be
in that range. And like you said, if they get
a quarterback in there, I mean they've got a good

(36:54):
running back in Tracy. You get a quarterback in there,
maybe some another play maker or an offensive line that
gives a little protection to that quarterback, and you know,
Neighbors might even be a mid first round pick. So yeah,
again a great value here early before you know, out
of context, before we know what this team is going

(37:16):
to look like. So there's maybe a little risk there,
but like you said, he he shined and in set records,
you know, the rookie records without having a real quarterback.
So what you know, what if someone like and I
saw a report today, you know, perhaps Kirk Cousins going
to the Giants, So you think about that quarterback who

(37:37):
can deliver the ball, give him a little protection and
that's going to be a big thing with Cousins, and
pair him up with neighbors and you know this, he
could really elevate this you know, second year wide receiver
next year and two you know, elite companies. So yeah,
I like I like him. He's definitely going to be
a first round pick.

Speaker 1 (37:56):
And we saw what Kirk Cousins was able to do
with the other LSU tie and Justin Jefferson for a
few years. So I like this a lot as well.
By the value, while you can all right, number eleven here,
Nico Collins, this one's not surprising to me, but looking
at other mock drafts, it could be could be a
little high. Right now. I think it's just the question
mark of c J. Stroud. Are we gonna get rookie
c J Stroud or are we gonna get this year's

(38:18):
c J showd which is really kind of deer in
the headlights at times. Plus Joe Mixon was unbelievable in
the run game, So does that continue with the Texans.
Their defense, of course, showed up in the NFL playoffs.
Are they gonna be defense and run heavy or pass heavy.
Nico Collins obviously dominated wide receiver thirteen. Last year he
was wide receiver seven in PPR and points per game.

(38:39):
He missed five and a half games due to injury,
but when he was out there, he was absolutely dominant.
Tank Dell unfortunately may have his career over at this point,
tearing the same acl. Robert Woods has passed his prime.
John Menschi is fine but coming up slowly. Hutchinson, who knows,
there's a lot of other, you know, question marks there
in Houston. I think C. J. Stroud and Nico Collins

(39:00):
are the constant for me. He's potentially a top ten
player depending on what happens. He's definitely a first rounder.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
Yeah, and he has another gear, you know, in my opinion,
you know, we've seen him and he is lights out
and he he but I see an opportunity. You know,
he can tell he can take another step forward, and
if he does, he's going to be in the in
this range of you know, elite wide receiver company. I
don't personally, I think there's maybe one or two other

(39:29):
names that probably go here instead of him. But again,
definitely I can see this turning. I would love him
in the second round. To be honest with you, if
I'm drafting, if I could get him in the second
round and pair him with, you know, someone like Amanrav
Saint Brown, who I love man, I would be over

(39:51):
the moon. So you know, coming at the end of
the first round, I don't think it's overdraft. I certainly don't,
but I think we're probably gonna sing him more in
the second round, early second round.

Speaker 1 (40:04):
All right, well, maybe you compare him up with this
guy on the turn, King Henry. I debated putting him
back in the first round because we're gonna talk about age,
We're gonna talk about where are the tires, We're gonna
talk about him slowing down, and then we're gonna see
some video in July of him towing a dump truck
or some shit, right, running up a hill backwards, like
dude's an animal. They're just when Adrian Peterson played and

(40:28):
was in his prime, we just kept saying things like
he's playing Frank Gore was another one playing late into
the career, and we're just like, yeah, but nobody's like
Adrian Peterson. Nobody's like Frank Gore. Right, nobody's like Derrick Henry, period.
And until he slows down, you gotta think that he's
not going to and in that offense, it's unbelievable. They
can't double up and put ten guys in the box

(40:50):
like they did in Tennessee for all those years. Because
Lamar's out there the best passing quarterback all of a
sudden in the NFL too, so just too dominant. King
Henry is going to be a second first rounder or
front and second rounder. That's my guy. If I get
him in the second round and I team him up
with Malik Neighbors, I don't know. Right, you have the
safety of Henry, you have the upside of Neighbors. That
would be massive for me. Derek Henry needs no introduction.

(41:14):
Last year he was a running back nine off the board,
came out and absolutely dominating. If now for sake, won
Barkley this year, he's the talk of the town. So
it's it's Derek Henry in the first round for me.

Speaker 2 (41:23):
Yeah, I agree. I mean, the two best things that
happened to Henry was having an an off year in Tennessee,
you know before he was traded, save that tread on
the tires. And then the second thing is to land
in Baltimore. I mean that that offense is just geared
to him. I mean, it's a perfect fit. And from

(41:43):
what I hear, you know they love him there. He
loves being there. So I don't I agree. I don't
think we're going to there. Certainly will be age talk
and people may pass on him because of Asian. That's
gonna be to you know, our benefit. So I mean
he averaged a touchdown her game this year, Between you know,
the rushing and a couple receiving touchdowns, he averaged a

(42:05):
touchdown per game. I mean, what other running back are
you going to find that out there? There are gonna
be men, So he's he's definitely worth it. You get
him a turn or even just a little bit later,
like you said, pair him up with Nico or Neighbors
and you know in this draft, and I mean in
your flying high So yeah, great, great.

Speaker 1 (42:25):
Pick, all right. And I had a bold prediction early
in the season with you and I and Styles are
going to recap those bull prediction episodes coming up here
this spring and summer see where we hit or missed on.
Those are kind of fun to recap. But I had
a bold prediction that Derek Henry was going to hit
twenty touchdowns in Baltimore. Of course, that's an insane number
in today's NFL. He just fell short, but.

Speaker 2 (42:45):
Not by much.

Speaker 1 (42:47):
Pretty incredible there, all right, for the second round here,
we'll speed it up just a little bit. First of all,
for the podcasters, Derek, can you wheel over just a
little bit, keep it right there on the screen, and
I'm going to rattle off the first round. In the
second round, I'm gonna give you three names in a row.
We're gonna put them all on the screen, and what
I'd like you to do is pick your favorite pick
of those three at the value or some guy you're

(43:08):
like Sky, what the hell are you thinking? And why?
So we'll speed it up a little bit faster in
the second round. In the first rounder, though, we have
Jamar Chase at one to one. We have Bijon Robinson
at one, two, Jamar Gibbs at one, three, We have
Justin Jefferson, Puka Nakua, and Ceede Lamb going at four,
five and six. Then we have Saquon Barkley and Christian
McCaffrey back to back at seven and eight. In the

(43:31):
first round, al Monross, Saint Brown, Malik Neighbors, and Nico
Collins wrapping out nine, ten, and eleven for three wide receivers,
and King Henry at the twelve slot. Chase Robinson, Gibbs, Jefferson, Nicoua,
Lamb Barkley, CMC, Saint Brown neighbors Collins and Henry to

(43:52):
brack out the first round. Comment below on how you
feel about that? Is Christian McCaffrey too high? Is Justin
Jefferson too low? How are we feel about all that?
So we can keep our tabs on it? All right,
we're heading into the second round here, and we'll make
sure we get that Booda back up. We should be
able to just click on the one that he had,
the one that's drafting or pre draft.

Speaker 3 (44:12):
Maybe I got it. I'm back up cool, should be honest, said,
do you see it? I still just see the mock sideline.

Speaker 2 (44:26):
Yeah, I'm back on here. Let me I'll just quick
quickly share it again.

Speaker 1 (44:30):
No worries. While you do that. I'll take a quick
break and just remind everybody we're gonna be around here
all spring, all summer, heading into next year. We don't
go anywhere. We do slow down a little bit. We
got about two podcasts per week, but we have three
articles per week for you as well, So Monday, Wednesday,
Friday articles you're dropping on the website that's Football dot
raspball dot com. And on Tuesdays and Thursdays we're gonna
have podcasts for you live with our crew as well.

(44:52):
No Sunday Live because we don't have any games, but
we do have some playoff dfs. We have some playoff
primers heading up as well, so those of you like
playoff competitions and stuff for the NFL, we will be
able to hit those for you as well here on
the show. But everybody in Dynasty, we got Dynasty content.
We're gonna be covering free agency. We're gonna be covering
the NFL Draft, of course, the combine. We get it
all for you, so keep it locked here to the

(45:14):
ras Ball Fantasy Football Show. All right, let's get back
to the draft board here, head into the second round,
and Derek, once again, I am going to tally up
here the three picks in a row. Give me the
guy you like the most of the value or the
guy that maybe is just totally off base for you.
I'll line up each three of these guys first so

(45:35):
they have them to see, and then you can go
ahead and give me your content. So the first pick
of the second round is Devon a Chan of the Dolphins.
We gotta line these uphilds, kid, take just a second here,
and if it's easier for you can also search for
those names. At two to h two, we're gonna go
another rookie here. That is Brian Thomas Junior, who I
almost slipped into my first round. Kids. Absolutely incredible, of course,

(45:58):
and we'll see what happens in Jacksonville. But I love
his value in his upside. He actually was the wide
receiver one overall heading into the Fantasy Football playoffs and
absolutely dominated there. So look at him all the way
down the draft boards last year, a league winner. Absolutely,
we're gonna get into our rewards over the Fantasy football
playoffs to end the season, so you can catch all those.

(46:20):
But Brian Thomas a popular candidate there. And then at
the two three Josh Jacobs, who, of course everybody knows
I famously have been hating on for the last five
years of fantasy but as soon as you went to
Green Bay, I became a fan and a band wagoner,
and I feel good about that. Devon a Chan two one,
two to two, we got Brian Thomas Junior, and at

(46:42):
the third pick of the second round is Josh Jacobs
on the Packers. Who do you think is your favorite
pick in that for value or who is somebody that's
just too high for you?

Speaker 2 (46:53):
Yeah? No, I love Brian Thomas Junior and I planned
to have a lot of him on my team's next year.
But eight Chan is actually the one want to talk
about because you know, when you were back in the
first round where you're talking about Jamior Gibbs and what
he brings, you know, everything you said, I heard Divine
a chant because I see him in that same mold.

(47:13):
And so if you can get Divine a Chan h
cheaper you know, second round and get someone like Jamior Gibbs, uh,
you know as a as a comparison. So I love
the A Chan pick. I think he probably more than
in some other running backs that we're going to see,

(47:36):
has a chance to really make that step forward and
to become first round values. So yeah, A Chan is
the one that really stands out here. To me, again,
I see him and Jamior Gibbs very very similar. We
saw that progression with Gibbs, we didn't really see it
with a Chan like we thought we would, but you know,

(47:57):
next year's new year, and and he's got the the
skill set to do it. So I like the eighth
Chan pick in the second round.

Speaker 1 (48:05):
My only concern there is Tua slash Dolphins offense slash
Tyreek Hill slash any other running back coming into town
because all the old forty nine ers are past their
primes and not probably gonna get much run anymore in
that backfield, So a lot of question marks in Miami.
Love the talent. We'll see what happens. Brian Thomas will
probably slip into the first round potentially for me come offseason,

(48:26):
but again that's maybe just my ranking. If he's in
like the back of the second round, Derek, we're gonna
get a ton of value on a player like that,
and we know what Josh Jacobs can bring in that offense.
All right, let's go second round, fourth pick, fifth pick,
sixth pick Kyron Williams at two oh four. We're gonna
shout out to my boy Bob Lamarco, who if anybody
is late to the program, Bob has actually stepped away

(48:46):
from ras Ball, but he's gonna be with us from
time to time on shows and he's certainly still part
of the family, but he has stepped away officially to
focus on his family there. So Karen Williams goes a
four two to five Jonathan Taylor question marks there, Indianapolis,
what version of Anthony Richardson are we going to get?
Do they bring in any other top end wide receivers?
How did that offense look a little bit? Not concerned,

(49:08):
But he's just not an automatic like he was two
years ago. And then here we're going to break the
mold a little bit. Tight end brock Bowers, I believe
in it. Not very often do you see the top
ten repeat himself at the tight end position. I just
don't see it not happening because of the circumstances. Now,
he didn't have much of a quarterback, didn't have an

(49:30):
offense at all. He had a run heavy offense, and
he didn't score a ton of touchdowns. Brock Bauer sets
the rookie record for receptions and for yardage. We know
he has the upside. We knew he was going to
be incredible in a game record when he came out
of Georgia. We expected this to happen with Kyle Pitts
out of Florida in Atlanta. Obviously that has not materialized.
I do see it being consistent and happening again with

(49:52):
Brock Bowers. We've seen another couple tight ends. Evan Ingram
comes to mind, who came on the scene and blew
up as a rookie, Sam Laporta and then fell off.
I just don't see it happening with the Raiders. The
Raiders cannot do anything but get better, and they're gonna
be chasing in every game in that division. It's gonna
be brock Bowers early and often. He's the best wide receiver,
he's the best tight end, he's the best playmaker on
that offense. It's got to be Brock Bowers. He's going

(50:14):
to be a mid second round pick for me, that
is my four, five and six pick in the second round.
Who stands out to you, Derek.

Speaker 2 (50:22):
Yeah, it's gonna be Bowers. You know, I think if
you draft early, you're probably gonna be able to get
him a little bit later than this. But depending on
you know, who's going to be the head coach there,
who's going to be the quarterback? You know what other
additions are they going to make for the Raiders in Vegas?
And like you said, he he is a stud. Is

(50:43):
he the tight end one next year? Probably? But you
know there's still going to be a number of people
who are going to say, you know, well Laporta came
in and he was after his rookie season, and you know,
look what happened to him. You know, the Bowers may
do the same thing in this off more you know season.
But yeah, this kid's a special talent and you know,

(51:04):
if they build a team around him frankly to get him,
you know when any t could absolutely be the tight
end one. So it wouldn't surprise me to see him going,
you know, super early, the closer we get to the season,
depending on those moves that are made in Vegas. But

(51:25):
you know, right now, if you're drafting right now, I'm
thinking that you're probably gonna be able to get him
in the third round easily.

Speaker 1 (51:31):
Nice. Yeah, again, the upside of a great tight end.
We saw it with Gronk forever and and Jimmy Graham,
and then we saw it of course with Travis Kelcey
for a long time and George Kittle and some others.
If that guy hits and you get it with Mark Andrews,
it goes off, So I'm gonna stick with Rock Bowers,
all right, Pick six, I'm sorry, Pick seven, eight, and
nine in the second round. Mike Evans, of course, just

(51:54):
legendary career. Hall of Famer already eleventh season, which is
an NFL record to start a career with a thousand
yards in each season. They obviously worked to get that
great mold with Baker Mayfield. I don't think anything changes
there in Tampa. They have outproduced this year. I think
that continues. So Mike Evans back in the second round
after we got value from him last year at the

(52:14):
eighth pick T Higgins, this one might be surprising. My
only concern with T Higgins is, just like Pookinakua, it's
gonna be health when he is healthy. He was the
number two wide receiver in points per game, behind his
teammate Jamar Chase. That's to show you how great the
Bengals were. Jamar Chase, T Higgins, and Joe Burrow all
incredible in points per game. Sands injuries dedicated on the

(52:35):
head earlier. Are they going to bring in some offensive line,
What are they gonna do to maximize the potential there?
And does he stay in Cincinnati, big asterisk. Obviously, if
he ends up I don't know, you know, he's that
number two in New York or something, or he goes
to Dallas, whatever, it could change up big time. So
we'll see what happens. But right now I'm gonna buy
in on T Higgins once again. But you know that's
gonna be a little bit risky, and the way my

(52:56):
draft worked out, pokin Acua, T Higgins a little risky,
but so much upside there, Derek. We'll see what happens.
And then the next pick there, the ninth pick, is
going to be another tight end, Trey McBride. Two tight
ends in the second round. We saw it for years
and years and years. Last year burned Us, Hawkinson, Laporta,
Andrews and McBride. All those guys kind of fell off
a little bit. McBride obviously was great but just didn't score.

(53:18):
But I'm going to go back to the well game
changers at this position, Rock Bowers and Trey McBride in
the second round for me. So my seventh, eight, ninth
pick in the second round, Mike Evans, T Higgins and
Trey McBride.

Speaker 2 (53:32):
Yeah, I mean, what can you say about Mike Evans.
You know, you get him, you drafted him, and you're
expecting a thousand yards and ten touchdowns. That's just what
he does, you know, until he doesn't, and we don't.
We haven't seen him not do that yet, so definitely
he's a player. I think you still count on it.
I mean, Tampa went out, you know, kind of with

(53:54):
a dud, you know, this weekend, and I don't think
many of us expected them to go out slat like
that like the way they did. But Mike Evans was
a star. I mean, he carried the team when he
was in there, and him and Baker have something special
there and there's no reason to think that that will

(54:14):
continue next year.

Speaker 1 (54:15):
Either.

Speaker 2 (54:16):
So yeah, I love him as the second round wide receiver.

Speaker 1 (54:19):
All right, you give Trey mccride a couple of touchdowns too.
He's probably a first rounder. So incredible upside there for
the Cardinals. Okay, let's go with ten, eleven, and twelve
to wrap up the second round. Here, gimme Bucky Irving.
We've got two Buccaneers in the second round. I can't
put him in the first round yet. I have seen
a couple of mock drafts already that do have him
in the first round. Toobra, Shad White is just a

(54:41):
definite number two, which I've been saying all season, but
of course I'm biased with the Ducks. But now we
finally have seen it and Tilbra Shad White is definitely
a number two there. I can't bring him as a
first round or even early second round because you know,
guys like Jacob's Kyraen Williams Jonathan Taylor have that bellcow role.
But Bucky Irving we saw broke all you know, all
sorts of rookie records there as a running back elusiveness,

(55:03):
has the touchdowns, can catch the ball. Gimme Bucky Irving
in the back of the second round. And as my
draft is lining up here, if I got Jamier Gibbs
and maybe Devon h Chan for you, Derek, But if
I get Gibbs and I get Irving, that's an incredible
running back room to solidify at the top of my draft.
And then I have Drake London at number eleven. I

(55:25):
think he can only go up. Honestly, the talent is
a men's coming out of USC. He did fine with
Kirk Cousins. Kirk Cousins fell off. He did not then
he got Michael Pennix right. We don't root for Huskies
on the program, but we do root for fantasy points.
Michael Pennix is the truth. I'm gonna like him a
lot next year. He had Roma Dunes in college, and
we saw what happened there with Washington. So gim me

(55:46):
Drake London the back half of the second round. I
think he can only go up the way this draft landed.
Of course, I would not draft a team like this
Bjohn Robinson and Drake London both with the Falcons. I
wouldn't draft a team like that. It fell in my
ADP right now, But nonetheless on him in the back
of my second round and third. Do not forget about
this guy, assuming he plays. If Rashi Rice is a

(56:10):
chief and active next year, he's the second rounder for me,
no question about it. He played three games last year
before he got injured and the rest of the season
is off. Of course, he's also still facing potentially some
legal allegations to see what happens there. But on the field,
Rashid Rice was the wide receiver two overall, behind only
Malik Neighbors over the first three weeks of the season

(56:32):
until he was out for the rest of the year.
His total, he had two total touchdowns in that time,
again over three games wide receiver sixteen, fourteen and three
before he got injured. Patrick Mahomes. Patrick Mahomes, He's not
Tybreek Hill, but we need that number one guy. Patrick
has not really had that guy this year since Rashid
went down. So gimme Rashid Rice. Don't forget about this guy.

(56:53):
He's not gonna be a second rounder. I'll tell you
that right now. This is my caveat to end to
my draft for right now, he will not be a
second rounder. On He's probably gonna be like a fifth
round or sixth rounder. But last year he was the
ninth because we were worried about him being suspended. He
did not. I picked him up everywhere. He crushed for
three weeks until he got injured. Do not forget about
Rashid Rice. I put him here just so we could

(57:14):
talk about him early in the season. I'm gonna kind
of flag plant this dude. He's gonna be probably a
fifth or sixth rounder, but he's a second round pick
talent for me. Derek. He's probably obviously the name that
that's too high right now. But who stands off here
with London and Irving and Rice to end up.

Speaker 2 (57:29):
The same, you know. And I think you make a
great point with him too, by the way, with Rice,
because he is gonna be forgotten in a lot of
drafts from a lot of people.

Speaker 1 (57:37):
That works for me.

Speaker 2 (57:38):
Yeah, I agree. But yeah, you know, I really honed
in and what he said with Drake London, and I agree.
I think he makes another step forward next year, especially
you know, get him a full season in the offseason
with with Pennix and just to build that chemistry there.
I mean, they've got a pretty good team. They're pretty
good offense, and you know it's gonna it's coming together there.

(57:59):
And I see I kind of see a similar trajectory
there in Atlanta like we saw with Washington this year,
you know, and how they rallied around their quarterback and
the young quarterback and you know, the receivers who are
there and just the team in general. So a lot
of weapons there. He's and he's timed for making a
step forward. So yeah, getting him late second round, you know,

(58:22):
like this definitely has upside to that value. So I
like London, London here a lot.

Speaker 1 (58:29):
All right, That'll wrap up the first two rounds. It's
all we're gonna do for tonight folks. Again, that took
an hour just breaking down two rounds. It's a lot
to go through. Derek, I like you. I'm going to
recap the second round here for the podcasters, but look
over the entire draft board for now. The first two rounds.
I want to hear the pick that you like the
most with the value, the one that you agree with
the most with me, and the one that you disagree

(58:49):
the most with. Take what she rice out, obviously, I
know that one's a fireball. And let's take out Christian
McCaffrey as well. Coure so many you know, compliments there.
We already talked about him. But which one do you
agree with the most? Which one do you think are
just you and I are at difference on overall in
the first two rounds. For the podcasters. To kick off
the second round, I had Devon a Chan, Then I

(59:09):
had Brian Thomas, then three running backs in a row, Jacobs, Gibbs,
I'm sorry, Kyen Williams, and Jonathan Taylor as my third, fourth,
and fifth picks of the second round went tight end
in the middle of the second round, here with Brock
Bauers at two six, the legend Mike Evans, the healthy
T Higgins still on the Bengals at six, seven and eight,

(59:30):
and then McBride, Bucky Irving, Drake London, and then again
I squeezed in Rashid Rice, but we talked about what
will happen with him. So that is the second round.
There you have everything else listed up. I'll put it
in the comments section below for the podcast and for
the YouTube channel, but you can see it online there. Derek,
what pick do you agree with the most at the
value and which one do you disagree with? Sans Rice

(59:52):
and McCaffrey.

Speaker 2 (59:54):
Yeah, the pick I agree with the most actually is
Brian Thomas Junior at you know two two. I mean,
I think that's a fantastic pick. I think that's probably
about where he's going to Pete too. He might you
might even be able to get him a little bit later.
But I mean I think that's a great pick. You know,

(01:00:16):
pair a wide receiver, young wide receiver like that, you
know with in the second round, so you pair him
with a top either running back or wide receiver in
the first round. I mean, I think that's a tremendous
way to start the draft. And also I really like
Bucky Irving you know, late second round as well, especially

(01:00:36):
if you draft a wide receiver first and you get
get someone like Bucky Irving, who who expect to, you know,
just to pick it right up where he left off
next year. So getting him late in the second round
after you know, smashing a top wide receiver in the
first round is a great start as well.

Speaker 1 (01:00:56):
Love that we talked about McCaffrey and Rice. Who's somebody
that you're disagreeing with me on that? The tight ends?

Speaker 2 (01:01:01):
Uh? Yeah, I mean I'm not I particularly don't tend
to go after tight ends, but uh, you know what
I actually disagree on is a name that I don't
see on here and is a J.

Speaker 1 (01:01:14):
Brown.

Speaker 2 (01:01:14):
A J. Brown is not on the board. No, yea,
you know, and we you talk, Okay, maybe you know
Rashi Rice falls out, or you know McCaffrey doesn't go
that high, or you know, the tight ends, but you know,
and what if it's not that you know, you know,
even not on there because someone else is. But just
look at that wide receiver board. I mean that's a

(01:01:37):
tremendous wide receiver board and someone like a J. Brown
is slipping to you know, in this case, to the
third round. I mean that just that just shows how
how deep wide receivers are, you know, and and you
know you can make a case every one of these
wide even Rice. You know, I can make a case
where every one of these wide receivers on the board

(01:01:59):
belong in one of the first two rounds, you know,
and someone like AJ Brown's just he's not there yet.
So yeah, that would be my I would I would
move him up. He would probably be middle second round.
To me, I'm not sure exactly where because I love
Mike Evans, I love Higgins, I love London you know,
of course Brian Thomas Junior. So I'm not sure where

(01:02:20):
he fits in there, but he's probably gonna be middle
second round for me.

Speaker 1 (01:02:23):
That's my issue. Where do you put him? The pass
attempts for Philadelphia plummeted this year with the run game
of Saquon Barkley, and rightfully so DeVante Smith when he's
healthy and Dallas Goddard's healthy, there's just not enough to
go around. We know that AJ Brown is an Alpha
of Alpha's, we get it. But we saw in the
playoff game people make fun of him reading on the
sideline whatever, but he didn't have the stats right, like

(01:02:44):
they're just they won the game basically going away against
Green Bay in the second half and the game was
over and they just didn't need him. That's great for
the team, that's horrible for fantasy. And we know what
he's capable of two years ago. What was it. I
think it was like seven straight weeks to kick off
with like a hundred fifty totally like dudes, or one
hundred fifteen total yards. He's incredible, I know that. But

(01:03:04):
this is the same issue I had with Debo last
year and I missed out on him, and thankfully I did.
Was just like, if he's not definitely the number one guy,
I just don't see him being Do you put him Rice? Okay,
you kick him out and put him at the back
end the second round? Fine, But I could also make
a case maybe for Terry McLaurin. Let's not forget about him, right,
I Mean, there's a number of other guys that are

(01:03:26):
listed here that I almost put up in that upper echelon.
You know, of these guys like lad mcconky probably won't
be that high, but like he could be when he
was healthy. So there's a couple other dudes I'd be
curious about some alternates I left out. There are third
rounders from me right now, but some guys on the
turn that I could alternate in Derek would be and
you brought up a J. Brown. Sall just list these

(01:03:48):
names real quick, Joe Mixon, James Cook, Terry McLaurin as
I mentioned, and then don't forget about Alvin Kamara still
a top five running back. So those are guys that
are still like shuffling in in the back for the
second round, third round. But either way, you could take
the tight ends out if you wanted not draft that way.
You could take Rise out if you don't want to
draft that way. You can remove Christian McCaffrey if you
don't believe in it. There's four slots that open up

(01:04:10):
in the first second round, so maybe you add in
some of those auxiliary guys. But I appreciate you bringing
up a J. Brown There any final thoughts on the
first MAK of twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (01:04:18):
Now, this is a lot of fun actually, kind of
what's my appetite to get into one of these best balls,
because you know, I just I see this you know,
I say, wow, man, look at the value. If you know,
I tend to let draft in the middle, like I said,
but you know, this makes me want to actually maybe
move down to maybe the nine or the ten spot
because you know, as we as we're seeing here, I mean,

(01:04:39):
I love starting wide receiver, wide receiver or wide receiver
running back, just depending on you know, where they line up,
and you know, it just gets me excited to think that,
you know, someone like Saint Brown or Neighbors pairing with
Kirene Williams or Devon h Chan I mean, or Bucky Irving.
I mean, that's that's a sweet start. So yeah, this

(01:05:03):
is fun and I might have to get into a mock. Nice.

Speaker 1 (01:05:07):
Something I take away from Max is less about the
actual ADP and solidify it against January. We don't draft
until July August. But it is just about like how
guys are fitting. Now you see two rounds of players,
you go, man, of course everyone wants to draft one,
two or three whatever, Right, But then you go, man,
that turn looks really nice, or Ceedee Lamb and Mike Evans,
Phuka Nakua and and T Higgins stay healthy together, right,

(01:05:30):
Brock Bauers and Saquon Barkley. Right now, I just go
wide receiver for five rounds. If I get Christian McCaffrey
and twenty twenty one version of Jonathan Taylor, I'm gonna
win my league hands down. So like sometimes those middle
chunks like pair up well. So it's just cool to
see it laid out with what's potential. Obviously it's just
one mock draft. It is very early. We'll see what
happens moving forward. But we would get this published again.

(01:05:52):
