Speaker 1 (00:08):
Happy Sunday evening to all of the rath Ball followers
and listeners. We are checking in with our first ever
be a team league. Invite only friends and family. We'll
be back with you after the music plays and introduce
the league. All right, here we go. My name is
(00:34):
Matt Styles. I will be part of your hosting team
tonight with Dave Cruz at Cruiser one two eight at
Jefferson keys Ar Jefferson Underscore Underscore don't get it confused
with only one Underscore two to one, and my guy,
a longtime friend and colleague, Derek Favret at Derek Underscore Fabret.
(00:56):
We've got some other folks that are in the background
that will come in around their draft pick or after
their draft pick, but for now, we are going to
kick this draft off in about thirty seconds. This is
a guillotine league. If you're unfamiliar with what a guillotine
guillotine league is, it's eighteen teams. Those eighteen teams will
(01:18):
battle every single week, and the lowest point total for
the week is eliminated. The wrinkle to that is that
team that's eliminated, all of that team's players will go
into the waiver wire and everybody can use their I
believe it's one thousand dollars free agency acquisition budget to
bid on those players throughout the league. It's basically win
(01:41):
and move on, So it's survival of the fittest. I
will tell you that there are sharks in the water.
I am not one of them. I did not fare
very well my first Guillotine League last year. I believe
that the week I checked out, I was starting Zach
Moss and an injured Taije Spears at run. So lesson
(02:01):
learned you guys in front of me. I draft sixteenth.
You should all probably go running back heavy to start.
This is a super flex. Don't worry about that. Go
get your running backs early, and I will scoop up
whatever's left to include quarterbacks if I have to down
at number sixteen. Dave over to you. Welcome to the show.
(02:21):
I know we were on last Tuesday. What do you
have to say about a Guillotine League.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Well, I'm gonna a lot of what you said makes
a lot of sense. And to me, some of the
more valuable guys in Guillotine are probably the opposite of
what you would think in other leagues. I kind of
try to stay away from the.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Guys that are the high upside guys, and I try
to look a little bit more towards the.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
Consistent guys.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
So it's kind of like a different.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Type of draft from me. I've play, I played.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Does it feel to you like, sorry, Matt? Yeah, is
it a league that you draft floor first and not upside?
You don't want you want splash players. But do you
look at a floor before you would look at a
ceiling and guillotine?
Speaker 2 (03:19):
I think I look at I think, yeah, I look
at floor definitely before ceiling.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Yeah, so you know, I mean.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
What you you kind of to me you don't want
as many boom and bust players because bust is a
bad thing.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Yes, again, Zach Moss was on my roster and an
injured tay J. Spears, and I believe Aaron Jones No,
who was ty Chandler was my third running back that week.
So that'll let you know how awful my team was. Jeff,
what do you think as far as GIA team leagues go?
Do you love them? Do you hate them? Or are you
here because the boss said to be here?
Speaker 4 (03:57):
What are we doing a little of both? This is
my first one ever, so I'm stoked to be part
of this. I like that I'm in the fourth spot
so I can kind of control my destiny early on.
And I agree with with Dave a little bit about
the floor. But also you kind of want you want
some guys to go big too, that it's about scoring.
It's not like best ball, it's like the opposite almost,
(04:20):
So you got to find that middle ground with some
of these guys. Want them more consistent, not so sexy names,
but you still kind of want some sexy So, uh,
I'm curious to see how I'm how my draft pans out.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
I actually I tried to chart out where I thought
you'd go at one four. It looks like the draft
board I've drafted for you. No pun intended is I
got you with Jonathan Taylor at one four, So I
think that's a that's an adept astute move for you.
So good, good on. Yet we'll see after one three drafts. Derek,
I know you did well in last year. I don't
(04:53):
remember what your status was two years ago, but I
know that this is one of your new fun leagues.
You really enjoyed this format. What are your thoughts?
Speaker 5 (05:01):
Yeah, this is really a lot of fun. A lot
of different strategies than your typical ten or twelve you know,
man redraft or even dynasty. So yeah, a lot of fun,
you know, and those who haven't done it you'll learn
along the way. It's pretty simple concept, but it does
get pretty exciting because the best team doesn't always win
(05:21):
for sure. Sometimes they get eliminated very early. But anyway,
I got a couple of notes on the drafts we
can get this started. You know, there was some talk
about the settings and specifically the third round reversal. So
those of you we did make the change on that,
you know before the draft, you'll notice it on the
(05:43):
draft board if you can get in. And that's the
other question. Other problem seems to be there's a sleeper
connection issue going on. It comes and goes. So we'll
push through as best we can. Please have your cueues
up to date, and you know, if we need if
if we need to, we can.
Speaker 6 (06:04):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (06:04):
I think we could probably pause it periodically if it
just gets really bad, but uh, let's uh, let's do
the best we can. And if it's just really you know,
perseveres through uh and persistently getting us knocked out, we
could always stop at some point and make it a
you know, a slow draft. So we we'll we'll, we'll
(06:25):
work through. But let's just try to do as best
we can tonight. Just be mindful that the connection does
drop out every now and then.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
YEP.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Recommend following what Derek said, hit refresh on your sleeper,
especially if you're on a laptop or a home computer.
If not, you're app you maybe need to open and close.
The good thing is you've got seventeen picks to wait
before you pick again, So try to stay online the
best you can and without further ado and no more
(06:53):
chit chatter from the host group. Derek, I'll let you
do a thirty second countdown, or you can say we're
about go and and let's get it going. And I'm
gonna go grab a pizza and come back since I'm
at one sixteen, so I'll see you guys at ten eastern.
Speaker 5 (07:09):
Yeah. So actually both of my I've got two screens
up and both of them are are disconnected right now,
So I will start that right away and when I
can unless when you guys can do So here we go.
We're we're alive, all.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Right, folks. Three minute clock. Do your best if you've
got problems. Put something in the chat and we will
do our best to Paul's.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
Well, Derek, you doesn't look like the banner is correct.
It doesn't look like it's a problem.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
Well, I thought it was gonna be running back heavy, Jeff.
Speaker 6 (07:47):
You.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
Get your guy here, Bring on Beijon, let's go.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Yeah, big Colts fan.
Speaker 5 (07:56):
So, Matt, I'm going to bow out if I'm gonna
bring Drew on, he's his Pay'll be coming up here
shortly if you want to introduce him.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Okay, Drew, what's going on? You're at pick Oh? What
is it? You're at what?
Speaker 6 (08:10):
Six?
Speaker 1 (08:10):
Or seven?
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Now?
Speaker 1 (08:11):
Where are you?
Speaker 7 (08:12):
I believe him at nine?
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Nine? You are correct?
Speaker 3 (08:15):
Nine?
Speaker 1 (08:15):
It is uh, Drew? Where did you finish last year?
How did you? How did you feel about it? Out
of quarterbacks? This is interesting.
Speaker 8 (08:23):
Last year was was horrible. It was a Christian McCaffrey
was my first pick. I was the number one pick
of the draft. His injury basically buried me week one.
So I was eliminated the very first week.
Speaker 7 (08:42):
I believe.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
Yeah, And I'm the way the draft board's going now,
I'm probably going to be eliminated the first week because
it's going to be I'm gonna be looking at Blake
Bortles here at one sixteen is the way it feels.
So if you would not snipe me at with the
Bortles down there at one night of well, actually you're
handle right, Rogers' mom. There's probably a wonderful player for
(09:06):
you to get to new to Pittsburgh. I don't know
if you've heard of the quarterback there back in walks
in Pennsylvania.
Speaker 7 (09:16):
He's still one of my favorites.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
No Ben Packers fan, big Packers fan. It's hard to
watch these days, I tell you how much. So I
will tell you I didn't see Justin Jefferson to be
the first non quarterback on the board. But it looks
like Ben gets Jamar Chase just dropped into his lap.
(09:38):
So good for good for Ben. And I think what
time is it. It's four days from now where Ben
lives in Australia, so I think it's Wednesday noon where
Ben is all right, here we go, Drew, what's your
thought process?
Speaker 6 (09:52):
Brian?
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Are you looking at Brian Robinson Junior? Since Bejon went
in front of you, I mean, what are we going
to do here? Christian McCaffery was it was so good
to you last year.
Speaker 7 (10:01):
Right, Oh man, you know.
Speaker 8 (10:07):
I am feeling I'm feeling pretty squirrely here.
Speaker 7 (10:13):
I'm gonna go for Christian McCaffrey. Right, Oh.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
Yeah, I'm back next year.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
Doubled down.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
What did they say about what do they say about
the Colonne sex panther? Sixty percent of the time it
works every time? Right? Woof? That is that is big
Eggs and Drew, that is wow. I love it and
I hate it for you at the same time, Jeff,
(10:46):
you had a chance that Jonathan Taylor just didn't feel
it what was going on?
Speaker 6 (10:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (10:51):
No, I think J T. Himan back in the second round,
so feel pretty good about that selection. But no, I'm
pretty glad I got Jalen Hurts there though. I just
think he's a fourth best Russian quarterback in this so
it's a good floor to have.
Speaker 6 (11:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Hey, by the way, if you pay attention, if you
look close enough, I'm actually you can visibly see my
logo now on the board, which is exciting for me.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
I mean, I have no idea what to do in
a draft like this. I really don't. This is absolutely ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
I think Jonathan Taylor will be here for you and there.
It is just just thrown some advice there.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Yeah, I hear you, absolutely hear you. And here we go. Right,
the host is the host with the most has to
make a decision now that how to do it? That
(11:59):
ought a pretty much sum up. I don't know what
I'm doing, but there's a there's a stack. If it happens,
I can stack him in the second round.
Speaker 7 (12:10):
Right, he'll be around.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
I have no doubt he'll be available, big, big rushing
upside with quarterback on my phone is every pick phone
is just oh my, look at that. Oh interesting. That's
(12:42):
a pretty good start at the turn. I would say
starting three running backs too, so super flexies. Yeah, that's
a that's a good turn. Not as good as that
turned though, folks shocking. Yeah, I might as well just
(13:07):
sign off. It's been fun. I have done what I
wanted to do, and I'm gonna probably leave for the
rest of the draft. At turn. Baker Mayfield in the
second round seems awful, So we'll see brutal and Jeff,
(13:36):
can any chance you have the ability to watch the
chat with me? Jamie's asking if we can turn off
the sleeper sound. I don't know if there's a if
there's a mute capability. Oh, it looks like it's done.
Is it done?
Speaker 4 (13:54):
We'll find out next pick.
Speaker 6 (13:58):
And everybody.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
Yeah, folks may have to do.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
An individual and not making them pick.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
Yeah. I was able to mute mine and it looks
like Derek Scott.
Speaker 5 (14:09):
Yeah, I turned it off on the main screen.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
Okay, perfect?
Speaker 3 (14:14):
Cool?
Speaker 1 (14:19):
And Jamie said it's full point tight end premium? Is
that right? Are we have tight end premium super flex league?
Is that what the scoring system says? Let me look, Yeah,
I'm double checking right now, because you how much paying attentions?
Speaker 6 (14:41):
There?
Speaker 3 (14:41):
You go? Two points?
Speaker 1 (14:47):
Any chance you guys will authorize a redo for the
first round.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
You're going to have to take ten picks.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
Yeah, Drew and I are gonna gonna start it. We're
gonna actually combine teams. So are you do? You guys
see that it's on Jets Fan right now? Still yes?
Speaker 4 (15:16):
Fifty five seconds?
Speaker 7 (15:18):
Yeahay, deep contemplation.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
I want to make sure my my draft boards at
least moving the way it should.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
Jamie's very classy, appreciate it. Didn't want to tell us
our own league settings.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
Yeah, I mean we're not as professional as we come across.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
That's for sure, which is scary.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Yeah, I was waiting for somebody to recognize that. Well,
I don't see a green dot next to Jets Fan.
Hopefully he's still online. It's probably gonna be the Dak
press game.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
You can't see it because his background is green.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
Yeah, that too.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
He's there, but he's not there. Boom, no, pooka, pooka
c D pooka.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
No, Jeff, it's just it's falling right into your lab.
Speaker 4 (16:20):
Oh it is.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
I'm just excited. I'm excited to see what Drew does.
I think Drew is just drunk with fantasy power at
this point. He already knows he's the league is his,
he knows he's playing with house.
Speaker 4 (16:46):
H Yeah, I'm curious when the next quarterback is gonna go.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
Yeah, I'm pissed off that, uh that I did what
I did.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
But Jets Fan is in the chat.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Yep h h.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
Yeah, so much for my stuck.
Speaker 7 (17:39):
Yep, yep.
Speaker 8 (17:41):
I'm gonna catch some I'm gonna catch some feces here.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
But uh, oh.
Speaker 8 (17:48):
My god, I see I see this three running back
possibility here, and I get I always get stuck with
a terrible running back squad.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
Worse than ty Chandler injured Spears and Zach Moss after
he'd lost the job to Chase Brown.
Speaker 5 (18:08):
M h.
Speaker 1 (18:10):
Right now, right now, your team is better than my
team last year, My entire team.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Does anybody see the possibility of a tight end and
the super flex spot?
Speaker 1 (18:28):
Yeah, plenty of tight ends left. I'm I'm probably more
(18:50):
excited about me.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
Jamie's already spending his fab.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Yeah, I'm just I'm more excited about Drew's next pick
that I am mine, to be honest, But I'm racking
my brain to see what what questionable type running back
could be next? Right?
Speaker 8 (19:15):
Yeah, who's got the highest injury possibility?
Speaker 1 (19:22):
Are we talking post m v P Shawn Alexander? Is
your next pick the one that sell off the cliff?
You're talking Tatum Bell after he was not good anymore.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
I was talking earlier in one of our shows about
not picking a rookie running back, and of course I
took one in the first round.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
Yeah, but I mean he's so far down the board.
You were so far down the board. I don't know
what are you gonna do? Touches are important? Oh Ben,
by the way, somebody please, Ben is no longer a
paid number of Oh, come on, man, Ben is Ben
is betting on Ben Johnson.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
He's a Ben.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
He was sniped on Trey McBride. It sounds like so
Ben is officially on tilt and that's purely that you
see with that.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
He just did a cartman pick. Screw you guys, I'm going.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
And he probably shot gun to an oil can Fosters
as he was doing room room temperature Foster's oil can shotgun?
Is guy going to do it to you?
Speaker 4 (20:44):
Jeff I think he's going to.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
I think he is.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
I'm amazed there's still people in my queue.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
I'm amazed that everybody's team looks pretty damn good right now,
right after this mini picks, and it's going to just
be in two rounds, people are going to be thinking,
why did I even join this league? He did it
so he didn't yet, Yeah, yep, yeah, well you know.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
Ricky piersoll.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
Man, do I do it?
Speaker 1 (21:24):
It's it's the it's the first two quarterbacks start. When
Trevor Lawrence goes to Jefferson.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
Right here, very time, it's time to pick all Jaguars
and hope you can buy some players by the time
they go on by.
Speaker 5 (21:40):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (21:43):
Don't they start the season on buy yah if I
called the name, if I called the name before the
draft started, Jeff, I'm just gonna I'm gonna sign off
and go auto. Let let the auto pick my players. Ooh,
(22:09):
you spelled Jonathan Taylor wrong.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
I think I may have.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
Here we go. What's the Derek will not go second quarterback?
Mark it down. He just won't do it, or he'll
have to do it because third round reversal.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
That's why I did that.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
It sucks, doesn't it? Because you know there's running backs
of receivers you love.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
Yeah, yeah, but yeah, I wouldn't see any of these,
probably quarterbacks at all, or maybe Gino Smith if I'm lucky,
but like, I'll be all right.
Speaker 1 (22:45):
So he's Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones. I see Jake
Ferguson as my superflex in my future. You saw the
video I sent you of the Dallas Cowboys guy coming
down the stairs. I don't think you should be drafting
any we don't.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
We don't have kickers, so I can't have Brandon Aubrey, amen.
Speaker 5 (23:14):
Man.
Speaker 4 (23:14):
Jonathan Taylor finally went.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
You missed out on him, damn it.
Speaker 4 (23:22):
And the purge of quarterbacks. Are you gonna take Dak?
Probably Ducks and Dak. Oh, Bob would appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
Yep, same player that I just had. I talked to
all that garbage too about that. I was so, well,
there goes my stack with golf. Yeah, Jeff, you're gonna
pick the letter because the quarterbacks gonna Yeah. I smell
(24:04):
your your stat coming out as well.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
That would be nice.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
And Drew, did you see how easy it was for
me to get a running back one in the third round?
Speaker 7 (24:18):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (24:19):
Yeah, that was.
Speaker 7 (24:21):
That was that was talented.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
That's fun. That's fun when that happens. No, Derek's got
I don't think Derek paid his internet bill. Well, there
goes your guy, Dak. That makes it easy for you, Dave.
You don't even have to worry about him.
Speaker 8 (24:44):
Oh snipe, damn uh oh, I have my shot at Dak.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
Yeah, I just can't spell. I saw the d and
I said, okay.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
There he is.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
Oh look at the court, Jeff, you did. You may
have done the right thing here, buddy, I think so, yeah,
you may have. You may have shown a new way.
Speaker 4 (25:10):
I think I was the first to do it. I
was thinking, like I was like thinking to myself Am
I overlooking something?
Speaker 1 (25:16):
Are you the only one that's no?
Speaker 4 (25:19):
Well for the first two rounds though, now.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
My home's in purty. Yeah at the end with Bucky
Irving in the middle of kay, you're the only one
that's done it other than that.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
Oh yeah, there goes my boy.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
Never mind, somebody tells guy that Bucky Irving has already
been taken. Were you really looking? Were you thinking quarterback?
No matter what, Jeff, Or were you looking at Chase Brown?
Speaker 4 (25:54):
Never strongly considering Chase Brown there? But if he was
taken right there, then I was going to definitely go
a quarterback. It was just a matter of which one
that I wanted.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Anybody see something cute with Sky's team yet notice it yet? Yeah? Wow,
he's just trying to get to that bye week, not
through it. He's trying to get to that by week.
(26:26):
So if Jeff look at the last comment, it's been
out there for five full minutes the last comment.
Speaker 4 (26:35):
Sorry Jet's fan shout out, Kayla Williams.
Speaker 1 (26:41):
He's questioning our guy, Ben, How dare you? I see
I could just read you like a book. I called
that like thirty seven picks ago. Why wouldn't you do it? It?
Speaker 4 (26:58):
Makes it more fun, right yeah, right, Like it's not
who I really want, but it just but it's cute
at a convenience.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Yeah, it's pretty.
Speaker 4 (27:13):
How many feedback and have live?
Speaker 1 (27:15):
I think we can have up to ten live. I
think if Jamie pops in, I can I can get
him up on the stage with us. I can even
bounce through if he needs to be bounced, move him
off the get Jamie in. But yeah, we've all everybody
(27:39):
that we have now is on is on screen or
at least available to be on screen. Derek's behind the scenes.
Speaker 4 (27:48):
So question on the third round flip, is this typical
ne guillotine league?
Speaker 5 (27:56):
Yeah, it really is because of this so many you know,
there's eighteen teams, so it really puts the later picks
at a huge disadvantage and the early picks at a
big advantage. So it is typical.
Speaker 4 (28:11):
Yeah, I actually kind of like it though.
Speaker 5 (28:13):
It makes them more balanced, it does, Yeah, it really does.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
Yeah, it's a great idea for deeper leagues.
Speaker 5 (28:23):
Yeah, Jamie, come on in when you're ready. We've got
room for you. I'm just staying in the background monitoring
the draft boards, so there's plenty of room for you.
If you want to come on in, or anyone else
for that matter, Yeah, jump.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
On in when you want. Well, we're happy to bring
you on and talk about your situation. Well that's saved
you from having to think about Tyreek Hill, Derek Worth
about Tyreek Hill. All right, Jeff, what are we going
to do. We're gonna talk through this when when it
(28:57):
comes to you?
Speaker 4 (28:59):
Yeah, what you got for me? Well, I know who
I want here. We'll see if it falls.
Speaker 1 (29:04):
Let me look at the draft. Uh all right, Well,
I've got two names in mind for you. We'll see
if I'm right on either one. I won't list them
because that could screw up somebody else's plan, but I'll
tell you if I got it right. You clearly didn't
(29:24):
understand what I was talking about Jonathan Taylor League winner,
but especially first, and I will say this, I don't
think you're going to pull a sky here, that's what
That's not what I think you're gonna do.
Speaker 4 (29:40):
No, I was never going to do that.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
No, but I think your player made it to you.
Not that you love the player, but I think the
player makes sense. But you did say that you wanted
this guy, and I don't know I have two player
he's in mind for you. You're really nervous. That's cool, though,
(30:04):
I mean would not None of us can tell that
you're nervous, So don't.
Speaker 4 (30:08):
Just cool the cucumber.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Yeah, don't look, don't look straight ahead.
Speaker 7 (30:12):
M that was not it. Yeah, the two you were thinking.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
Could pay off.
Speaker 9 (30:25):
Oh look at that nice John m Yeah, if you've
(30:46):
eaten recently, mhm alright, then's take a little bit of a.
Speaker 8 (31:08):
H m hmm.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
Then's probably what is the what are we looking at?
Hammering drunk?
Speaker 6 (31:43):
The tie?
Speaker 1 (31:43):
And uh.
Speaker 7 (31:52):
Does anybody get anybody else getting a really muffled Matt.
Speaker 8 (31:55):
Right now, they're cutting out, cutting out. What I think
I heard was how drunk am I?
Speaker 1 (32:07):
Drunk with fun? Drunk with power? Right?
Speaker 7 (32:10):
Yes, yes, it's in the bag.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
Yeah, I don't have I don't really have a problem
with it. You went for the quarterback you probably thought
had the most upside at that point.
Speaker 5 (32:21):
See Drew's new to this and he already picks up
on your tendencies, Matt, Derek.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
I don't need you to spell out my passive, aggressive,
and sarcastic nature to other people. I get I get
paid to deliver on that, and.
Speaker 5 (32:36):
I just had to come out from behind the curtain
just to say that, and I'm going back all right.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
Am I still muffled? It's probably because I leaned back
in my chair. I got to get a new laptop.
Speaker 7 (32:45):
That's what I think it was.
Speaker 8 (32:46):
Yeah, your mike just didn't really catch that. So yeah,
we're going the uh, the senior squad.
Speaker 1 (32:58):
Well, you just have to hope that second guy stays upright.
If he does, he's he's perfect for super flex. Yeah,
here's our guy, Jamie.
Speaker 6 (33:11):
Go what's up, guys?
Speaker 3 (33:13):
This is fun going on? Jamie?
Speaker 6 (33:15):
How much Jamie?
Speaker 1 (33:17):
Go through your go through your first three? What are
you thinking?
Speaker 6 (33:20):
So I got Nico, I got Bowers, and I got
Fields So I got a Nico's like my fifth wide
receiver ranked I don't mind it. Bowers obviously number one,
especially with the tight end premium. I can't believe he
fellows like a round. Uh well, let me turn my
sound offs. All right, man, fields people are sleeping on
(33:41):
fields Man. He's got top five upside. I have him
ranked as my seventh or eighth, and I got him
as the thirteenth quarterback off the board. So I'm happy
with it. What do you guys think of fields Man? Like,
is he someone that you would want in this kind
of format?
Speaker 1 (34:01):
My opinion, I don't want anything to do with Justin
Fields ever. I am. I am the number one never
fields guy in existence. I don't want anything to do
with him. Doesn't mean he's not a good player. I
would never say he's a good player, But I mean.
Speaker 6 (34:17):
I don't think he's a good NFL player. But for fantasy,
you can't deny top five upside.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
He does if he gets back to a couple of
years ago when he rushed for all those yards. You're
exactly right.
Speaker 6 (34:28):
So I'm on the clock here and I don't have
a running back. There's one that fell to me that
I think is pretty safe.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
That's got to be Cuba's.
Speaker 6 (34:37):
Tuba with us with Spears is out with an injury
right now.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
I flipped a coin with Hubbard and Harvey, and it
came up Harvey for me. I went with the younger
player and what I think is the better offense. But
Cuba was the other player for me. That's where I
was headed, one of the two. So now you're coming back,
You're gonna wait for the turn here. Who's probably got
to go? A receiver running back? You've got your tight
(35:09):
end already, and so yeah, you're gonna you're looking at
skill position as well, unless you can find a quarterback
lingering out there.
Speaker 6 (35:15):
Still, Well there is one. I'm not a fan of them.
There's that's two, and I'm not a fan of either
of them.
Speaker 1 (35:28):
Yeah, well just leave Aaron Rodgers for Rogers. Well, he's
already got his two quarterbacks. He couldn't take Aaron Rodgers
as his third.
Speaker 6 (35:33):
Right emotion, as long as we're not last, we can
try to pick up or fight for the quarterback that's
on the waiver wire, right.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
Yeah, because that team will drop all of its players
into the wire. The commissioner, excuse me, I leaned back.
The commissioner will drop all of those players in the
waiver wire, and the teams that are still active and
alive will will bid on those through FAB. So basically,
after week one, you're going to have them on ral
(36:05):
Sink Brown, Baker Mayfield, Karen Williams, and R. J. Harvey
available on your waiver wire, and Caleb Williams will somehow
win the league. It's what will happen.
Speaker 3 (36:20):
Ben will have the last laugh.
Speaker 1 (36:22):
Oh yeah, and Mike Mike Q got blown up. I
knew that I was going to get Davante or Bristall
when they got taken in front of me. With Kelsey
as the next pick, which I think is going to
be a very good pick in Tight End Premium. I
think that this people think it might be his farewell tour,
but I'm not quite sure, but I think he's going
(36:43):
to show out going into this season.
Speaker 6 (36:47):
Yeah. I mean, you gotta remember Kelsey was top five
last year. Yeah, out of all the tight hands.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
Even with the year he was top five and didn't
do anything right, He's actually kind there, which is crazy.
Speaker 3 (36:58):
Still, he was still numbered three targets.
Speaker 1 (37:01):
So I'll take the guy that's getting the opportunities.
Speaker 6 (37:05):
Yeah, what looks like we're gonna get an auto pick here?
Speaker 1 (37:13):
Ohman's two of them double auto. So he's gonna get.
Speaker 6 (37:18):
McMillan unless he has a Q set.
Speaker 1 (37:21):
Kat McMillan and DJ Moore might come right off the board,
which Jamie might leave you the guy you're looking at.
Speaker 6 (37:30):
Well, I'm looking at for two people right now, one
running back, one receiver. I just gotta figure out which one.
Speaker 1 (37:40):
You're gonna get. Caleb Johnson, that's for sure.
Speaker 6 (37:44):
Yeah, Yeah, Kayla was definitely the I was gonna go
Roshawan Johnson.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
Actually that's oh that's Jeff guy is my guy.
Speaker 6 (37:52):
I'll fight you for him.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
You can have them. Yeah, just throw punch is at
the screen.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
I know we already put this up once. But Jamie,
just in case you're you're paying attention now, I didn't.
I don't love I don't love the comment, but I'll
at least give you another shout out on the screen.
Hell yeah, but let's look at.
Speaker 6 (38:15):
Isn't it be just like hot fields? That's probably why
he likes my team.
Speaker 1 (38:19):
Yeah, you're exactly now that I read it, You're probably right.
By the way, Jets fan has a really nice start
of four players. Uh, but he's gonna struggle at quarterback.
But if he's staying away from superflex, which he appears
to be, then he you know, he just needs a
quarterback to play in week one. That's a that's a
really good start.
Speaker 2 (38:39):
All you gotta do is not weak. All you got
to do is not lose week one. Yep, you're allowed
to shot at whatever you want.
Speaker 1 (38:51):
I don't know that there's any teams right now that
look ugly to me. I think they're there's they're pretty
he spread out right, tight ends are going quick once
we identified our own league scoring with the tight end premium.
Speaker 3 (39:08):
But I heard this team.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
Yeah, that's what he's Barkley, Jacobs Golf and Adams.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
It's a solid team.
Speaker 5 (39:20):
Hey, Drew didn't. Didn't Zach make it pretty far last
year in our other league?
Speaker 6 (39:25):
He did?
Speaker 7 (39:25):
It was up to it was top three, I believe.
Speaker 6 (39:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (39:30):
Yeah, so he knows what he's.
Speaker 1 (39:31):
Doing, so unlike some of us.
Speaker 5 (39:38):
Jeffy Well, I wasn't gonna say that. Man.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
Well, if nothing else, I get to cheer for Baker
Mayfield for a week, and that's the way I look
at it. I win. I'm the big winner there. And
if anybody wants to send me a non Packers jersey
for Christmas, I would love the fiftieth anniversary Baker may
Field cream sickle, So put that on the list. Oh
(40:09):
do they have patches this year?
Speaker 6 (40:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (40:11):
They have a patch on the upper left right, you know, right.
Speaker 3 (40:16):
It is there.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
It is their fiftieth season. It absolutely is.
Speaker 3 (40:22):
If you guys commemorating the.
Speaker 1 (40:25):
Commemorating the Owen twenty sixth start, yep.
Speaker 6 (40:31):
So have you guys checked out all the alternate jerseys?
Speaker 1 (40:38):
Eve I looked at the Packers one. I love that
they're doing that.
Speaker 6 (40:43):
I just got some like, damn it, you wanted money,
I was gonna go many knuckles.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
Yeah, that's a solid perry for a robot.
Speaker 6 (40:58):
There's still a receiver that I think's being undervalued. He
was the number one target in his offense. They lost
the number two target in the offense.
Speaker 1 (41:07):
Yeah, he used to play with monkey.
Speaker 6 (41:10):
I know. I'm talking about Courtland Sutton.
Speaker 1 (41:13):
Oh boy.
Speaker 6 (41:15):
Yeah, I just think he's gotta be a tough.
Speaker 7 (41:19):
I think that's a great pick. I was hoping it
would come to me.
Speaker 6 (41:23):
Because you gotta remember Jabonta Williams. Wasn't he the number
two target in that offense? And now he's on Dallas.
I know they brought in Angram. They're obviously gonna use
him more. But I don't think it's gonna take away
from something. I think it's gonna just, you know, eat
up all those vacated targets. But yeah, go check out
(41:49):
the Steelers alternate jersey. Man, if you need a laugh,
it's worse than the bumblebee one they had years ago.
Speaker 1 (42:01):
Now, my in laws they're part of a Steelers, They're
they're from the Pittsburgh area. They live down here where
I do now in Florida. They're part of a Steelers
you know like fan club. They do watch the games
of old people's pizza and beer plays, and they give
away they actually give away really legit Steelers prizes, you
know you buy in for your your little raffle tickets.
(42:22):
And one of the ladies that's good friends with them,
let's two doors down. She won an oversight like a
a T. J. Watt bumblebee jersey, and in person, I'm like,
you know what, that's supposed to be really ugly, it
actually looks it looks pretty cool. She wears it with
a lot of pride. She'stopped very big, maybe five to
one five two, so it hangs down almost mid thigh
(42:44):
on her because they bought it big for the the
Pittsburgh transplants that are not small people in most cases.
But yeah, she wears it with pride. But yeah, I'm
still a big fan of the Packers doing that faux
leather helmet. If you haven't seen that, it's it's something
to see. It's really cool. All right, let's see if
(43:06):
Purple can screw his draft up here. We're gonna need
him to do something.
Speaker 3 (43:13):
Oh he cannot.
Speaker 1 (43:14):
That's a solid that's a solid pick, asked Rogers. Mom,
he may have just he may have just ruined his draft.
Speaker 8 (43:22):
Oh man, it's really tough. Pittsburgh is so tough to
predict anything.
Speaker 6 (43:28):
Oh. I just gotta remember They're coaching is top notch.
So even with the bad team, they're gonna win like
nine ton games.
Speaker 1 (43:40):
I just hate any Arthur Smith offensive player. I just
struggle to support him in any way.
Speaker 7 (43:48):
Yeah, he made it tough last year, very tough.
Speaker 1 (43:51):
Oh, just brutal. But now you got his thousand yards,
so I guess he's a genius. So if some of
these running backs, if they stay healthy, can fall forward
for a thousand yards of these years. All right, Derek, Derek,
did you notice anything strange about my team yet?
Speaker 6 (44:15):
Yeah? You got three running backs two? Yeah.
Speaker 1 (44:27):
I am not a I am not a running back
first person ever, like ever, And I'm not gonna go
Zach Moss, ty J. Spears and ty Chandler. I'll go
down swinging this year.
Speaker 5 (44:42):
And that bodes well for us. When you get knocked
out in the in one of the early weeks, it'll
be a running backs available.
Speaker 1 (44:48):
All right. So I'm going to go on auto.
Speaker 4 (44:49):
That's my strategy.
Speaker 2 (44:52):
I'm gonna take myself and you double down with a
Bear as your last pick.
Speaker 3 (44:56):
That was solid.
Speaker 1 (44:58):
Oh that's a player from Chicago. It's different, Dave. I
do not draft Bears players. I may, from time to
time have someone that plays half his or her games
in Chicago, but that's the extent of it for me.
I do not draft Bears. You say tomato, yep, but
(45:18):
tomato potato right.
Speaker 6 (45:20):
And we just got another Bears player off the board.
Speaker 1 (45:28):
Oh right, Oh, here we go, ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 7 (45:32):
I have to lock.
Speaker 8 (45:35):
Yes, I have to lock down one wide receiver one,
just just one.
Speaker 6 (45:42):
I gotta lock them down.
Speaker 8 (45:44):
Not not my favorite wide receiver one, but Cooper Cup then,
oh Cup, No Flowers.
Speaker 6 (45:53):
I read an.
Speaker 1 (45:54):
Article the other day I want wrote it and the
and the wide receiver is the guy's bold prediction was
that Zay Flowers will leave the NFL and yard after reception,
your yard after catch. That'll be with one touchdown for
the season, Drew. If it happens early right week one
(46:20):
or two, you're golden. You get the touchdown.
Speaker 7 (46:23):
Yeah there you go, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (46:27):
Drop them?
Speaker 6 (46:30):
So were your first two picks. You went to CMC
and a chain. Yeah, are you worried about the injury
issues going out with a chain and the past CMC
injury issues.
Speaker 8 (46:42):
Well, you know, I already got eliminated week one for
those very concerns, So I'm not worried anymore.
Speaker 7 (46:50):
I'm just not worried anymore.
Speaker 1 (46:51):
Worried doesn't exist.
Speaker 5 (46:53):
Yeah, been there.
Speaker 6 (46:55):
Yeah, Like, I think CMC is gonna be fine because
he did that overseas stump cell thing and that has
like a very high success rate. But then I just
keep hearing buzz about a change. Yeah healthy, Yep.
Speaker 7 (47:08):
CMC is a he's a monster.
Speaker 8 (47:11):
I bet he's benching three hundred as we speak, and
I think that he'll come back ready.
Speaker 7 (47:17):
But yeah, h chan is a little bit of a concern.
Speaker 1 (47:21):
So Drew, what do you so that Brian Robinson trade right,
Robinson comes over? Do you think that that's gonna be
like goal line Brian Robinson or is that gonna be
kind of like you know, you're a Packers guy, Is
it gonna be you know, every third drive, Brian Robinson
comes in and they go three and out and then
McCaffrey comes in for the next three or four drives
that type of thing or right, because they don't, they
(47:43):
can't afford for him to go to and he goes down.
They have the league's easiest schedule. McCaffrey goes down. They're done.
I mean, they're just simply done with the right wide
receiver issues.
Speaker 4 (47:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (47:52):
I just wonder if you if you see.
Speaker 3 (47:54):
That that's why they ran Robinson.
Speaker 1 (47:58):
Yeah, every fourth drive, is it?
Speaker 7 (48:01):
Yeah, just like as a means, as a means to
reduce workload.
Speaker 1 (48:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (48:07):
I think that's a good point. Yeah, I'm hoping that
he just sits on the sidelines. But I think you're right.
Speaker 1 (48:14):
He gets his you know it, gets his fifty three
yards touchdown and seven receptions for forty and then chills
are on the gatorade booth. That's fine with me because
I actually have two shares. The last share I had
was the year he went down immediately with Carolina after
I think he had finished a player one overall, I
drafted him and I've just been off of him since then.
(48:37):
But I think I have two of my five or
four teams right now I have shares. And I was
just as nervous as you were when you hit select right,
your hand shakes a little bit. You've got that sweat
bead you can feel right between your eyes. Yeah, it's
it's exhilarating and frightening all at the same time. Oh,
(48:58):
here we go. How many years are we going to
do this, Jeff? How many years are we gonna Are
we gonna tout Tony Pollard before you just give it up?
Speaker 4 (49:11):
Maybe next year.
Speaker 1 (49:14):
That's it, Derek and I are done. It's over. Yeah, okay,
So I'm not going to publish my wide receiver ranks
anymore because that's clearly Derek is watching. He's mad that
Pickens went in front of him. I promise you that
he was looking at a Pickens and Donesday turn. Almost guaranteed.
(49:38):
That's brutal to watch, just brutal.
Speaker 5 (49:40):
That wasn't almost guaranteed, that was exactly guaranteed. Yeah, that's
exactly what I was looking at.
Speaker 1 (49:46):
So what we're gonna do, Derek is you and I
are not going to talk for two minutes because I'm
a little upset. But there was no way he was
getting back to me, so I hovered over him when
I when I h drafted swift and I thought I
could get receiver a little bit later, locked up that
third running back. Didn't love it, but I liked that
(50:09):
third running back, hoping that some of these other jokers
will have to change running back. You being one of them,
Curly being one of them, guy at the start being
one of them, right, Jeff being. I mean, there's a
lot of teams with only one running back. And I've
said it seventy seven times on the pod so far.
If you have ty Chandler and an injured tay Je
(50:30):
Spears and Zach Moss, you're going to depart this league
in a hurry. Drew knows this. I mean, Drew's already
locked up. Drew's probably making it through behind agedd in
week eight with his start.
Speaker 8 (50:52):
As long as I spend all of my fab in
the first two weeks, is there.
Speaker 1 (50:57):
Any chance that seem goes back overseas of the stem
cell thing? And while he's in the little tube that
Stafford's cuddled up with him like he's got his He's
got his back up to wherever the stem cell magic is.
Speaker 8 (51:14):
Hey, it's as long as it's magical for them. I'm
we got both of them the best.
Speaker 1 (51:22):
Ooh, this guy's really mad, Derek just.
Speaker 5 (51:30):
He and he can blame Jefferson for that.
Speaker 10 (51:34):
Oh what did I do?
Speaker 1 (51:37):
I don't know, but but Derek's out here making a
lot of friends in the home in that.
Speaker 3 (51:43):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (51:47):
So there, I mean, let's I mean, I know there's
kids listening. We don't like to get talking with colorful
language too much. But I mean there's Dick moves and
then there's double Dick moves, and Derek just threw right.
He just there's two dildos on the draft board. This
was an NBA draft, a w NBA draft. Derek somehow
(52:08):
smuggled in two dildos. Both of them blew clearly, and
y chucked him within four picks of each other. Sky
probably just threw up all over himself when that happened.
Like he's gonna draft Jerry. He's looking for Jerry Rice
and the wide receiver he's typing his name in right now.
Speaker 3 (52:27):
Wow, we'll find out.
Speaker 1 (52:30):
The only reason, yeah, he'll he'll take Ray Rice. Probably.
The only reason I like that what Derek just did
is because Derek and Iron a couple of home leagues
where we split the team together. And I love that
he's just ruthless, ruthless. Sky did get Ridley? Didn't we
talk Ridley?
Speaker 4 (52:50):
Up on the pond, Jeff, we did did Yeah?
Speaker 1 (52:54):
The people that we were we were kind of on
board with uh with Calvin Ridley.
Speaker 3 (52:59):
Yeah yeah, Well did we better be better than Pearsall.
Speaker 1 (53:09):
I can guarantee that that Sky just took and mark
Derek off his Christmas card list. Oh boy, here we
go with I'm not going to get a tight end
that plays in the NFL this year. Can we draft
CFL tight ends? Do they have tight ends in their
twelve positions? Is there still an NFL Europe where I
can get a like a French guy that plays tight ends.
Speaker 3 (53:32):
Oh, don't worry, Matt, there's a fourth running back out there.
Speaker 1 (53:38):
Rosaan Johnson. So somebody already mentioned I think it was Jamie.
Speaker 3 (53:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (53:43):
I don't be sniping, man.
Speaker 1 (53:45):
No, I promise I will not do that. So I
think it's gonna be We're gonna seek some running max
and it's and tight ends might have a little bit
of a secondary run here is they're thing out quick
at tight end.
Speaker 5 (54:04):
Plus, I have to admit I just saw Judy taken.
I was really leaning on Jerry Judy there, but once
once I saw Pearsall just screaming at me from the
from the queue. I wasn't gonna let Jefferson get fired, really,
because we had the conversation the other day that ty
(54:26):
Sky threatened Jefferson's career at rasball. If he did he
took pearsall. So I did it for him.
Speaker 1 (54:33):
But but Sky threatened him and told him, don't take
him one four. He didn't say don't take him in
the sixth round.
Speaker 5 (54:40):
Well, the message was there.
Speaker 1 (54:41):
Oh yeah, it was bailed, but you're right it was.
The message was.
Speaker 5 (54:47):
So, you know, we gotta look up.
Speaker 2 (54:48):
Got another chance. Jeff's got another chance at the pink
slip tomorrow night.
Speaker 1 (54:55):
He's got a few pink slip opportunities.
Speaker 4 (54:58):
Not so fast, dare all right?
Speaker 6 (55:05):
What are we gonna do?
Speaker 1 (55:06):
Is there a Roger's mom is on the clock, he is,
It's it's got to be Kyle Pitt's right with Pannix.
You got to go with the pit stack, the pit stack.
Speaker 3 (55:17):
Oh, who's the Bears backup? Quarterback? Beigent?
Speaker 1 (55:23):
Beigent?
Speaker 8 (55:24):
Yeah, yeah, man, you know I'm taking a risk here,
but I do love this pick, and I think he's
I don't think I'm reaching too hard.
Speaker 7 (55:38):
Let's just put it that way.
Speaker 1 (55:40):
Not no, not eighteen teams. I don't think you are.
He's he's Him and Dobbs are the only healthy receivers
right now, and.
Speaker 6 (55:49):
Like three four receivers that I would have taken over him.
Speaker 4 (55:53):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (55:54):
And Dobbs wears two helmets, so he's not as open
as you would think. Defenders are closer just by the
size of his helmet.
Speaker 7 (56:04):
They do look goofy out there.
Speaker 1 (56:06):
Yeah. I like him right, great hands, runs, good routes.
They used him in that last preseason game. Pretty good.
Oh boy, there goes the tight end again. But look
at Jeff. Look at these teams with the running back issues.
Speaker 4 (56:19):
That's me. Yeah, well, I'm starting to regret my rice pick.
But that's all right.
Speaker 1 (56:27):
It'll be even worse when he gets the eight games
handed to him.
Speaker 4 (56:30):
I bet it's gonna be three.
Speaker 1 (56:32):
I don't you want my bold calls in my article.
I don't think he gets suspended till next year. I
think it all is in weird court litigation. It doesn't
happen until twenty six.
Speaker 4 (56:43):
Yeah, they're talking about negotiating suggests. How does one how
does one at their profession and their jobs say, you
know what, do you want to suspend me for this?
Surmar or take me out of the job. Well, I
don't think, so give me less and I'll come play.
Like it just doesn't seem right to me.
Speaker 3 (57:01):
What his lawyers have different Afford lawyers.
Speaker 1 (57:06):
What they've said through the players Association is there's no
precedent for ten games. The rumor was ten games is
what the league came down with. Now there's no proof
of that, but you know it's it would be. I
would be shocked to see that ten games with no precedent.
And then the nfl PA says, well, you know his
lawyers saying there's no precedent, that's correct. And mind you,
the n f L p A all of their leadership,
(57:27):
not all, but near the top, a lot of turnover there,
so there's probably a lot of paperwork and legalese in
the mix.
Speaker 3 (57:39):
I think four weeks.
Speaker 4 (57:42):
Yeah, it's like if I miss him for three weeks
and he comes back, like, I think I got to
steal there.
Speaker 1 (57:47):
Well, he's gonna he'll ball out, He'll be he'll be
fresh and mad.
Speaker 4 (57:51):
So m hm healthy. So yeah, I mean, and you
look at Jordan Addison missing three games, like, so I
don't know that plays. I thought Adison got three.
Speaker 1 (58:04):
Yeah again, Adamson's going to be out three.
Speaker 4 (58:08):
Three, probably longer. I think it's like a week five
by so it feels like he'll be back week six.
In all honesty, I bet you.
Speaker 1 (58:20):
Was that the last Bible quarterback anybody?
Speaker 6 (58:24):
Kind of?
Speaker 1 (58:26):
Yeah, kind of.
Speaker 6 (58:27):
There's still three four, there's five left.
Speaker 1 (58:31):
And Drew's got his eye on one of them. Who's
you know, Drew, it would have to be a luxury pick.
You'd have to know you're already gonna make it through
like week eight.
Speaker 3 (58:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (58:42):
Yeah, it'd be like Drew says, no, I want two
cherries on my Sunday, two cherries on my Sunday.
Speaker 8 (58:52):
I'm just going to uh, I'm gonna get him on
my roster at one point, probably on the I R.
Speaker 7 (59:00):
And then I'll feel good.
Speaker 1 (59:01):
And when when the title and just hand him the trophy. Yeah,
like the Stanley Club Cup. You just hand it to him.
He's the first guy that gets to skate around with it.
He'll have that, he'll have he'll have the walker with
the tennis balls in the front and he'll just he'll
just put the the t the Lombardi on his walker
and push it around the locker room. The crazy part
(59:26):
is I was trying to explain this to somebody that
just is not you know, like I'm not a real
big football fan, and I said, you know, he's neck up.
The dude is probably still the best in the league,
except he's he's nuts. I mean, he's probably narcissistic or
whatever you know words you want to use. But yeah,
it's it's tough for he just doesn't have it.
Speaker 4 (59:47):
Oh there, Yeah, there is Jets fan. He's having a
hell of a draft.
Speaker 6 (59:53):
I like jeff Fans draft. But who took Mixing any
of you guys? No, all right, I was going to say,
you're taking him in the sixth round? You have to
start nine players, and mix is not.
Speaker 4 (01:00:05):
Even going to be healthy.
Speaker 6 (01:00:07):
So in a league like this, that's going to be
the guy that's going to get eliminated first.
Speaker 4 (01:00:12):
Who were his.
Speaker 6 (01:00:16):
Styles?
Speaker 4 (01:00:17):
That's nice?
Speaker 1 (01:00:18):
Oh, I was just trying to talk to everybody and
never say the word out out. I almost took him
ahead of Swift and I had to sweat Derrick out
and Derek pissed all over me twice. But the dunes
in and somehow he slipped all the way.
Speaker 4 (01:00:35):
Back to me.
Speaker 5 (01:00:36):
You had your eye on him.
Speaker 1 (01:00:38):
Oh, I'm ecstatic. Bat that's so far? Absolutely was that?
Is that who you were looking at? Jamie?
Speaker 5 (01:00:48):
I was going to take a right here an stack.
Speaker 1 (01:00:54):
Mini stack, and then I'm gonna trade. I'm gonna take
Bucky Irving off the wire when our dude at the
turn ends up shipping the bed in the third week,
which he won't know what that lineup.
Speaker 6 (01:01:07):
Damn. Now I don't know what to do. Thanks dude.
Speaker 1 (01:01:10):
You're welcome, Jamie. We love that you sign into our
show every week. But feel free to cust me in
the uh in the group chat if you want to.
Speaker 6 (01:01:19):
Uh. Now, I gotta decision to make. There's two guys
I don't mind having.
Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
Oh, I've got the perfect name for you. I'll tell
you if I if I picked it out right, what's
the name? No, sir, you've got two chances before it
gets back to me, and if you don't take you,
I will.
Speaker 6 (01:01:38):
Whoah, Yeah, I'm drawing. I'm drawing this out, man, I'm
racking my brain.
Speaker 1 (01:01:49):
You get three minutes, no worries.
Speaker 6 (01:01:51):
I know the guy next to me. He needs receiver
needs receivers, right, not so much running backs. There's two
running backs I wouldn't mind taking, so I'll let the
second one fall. So I'm taking a receiver here. I
don't know which one man it's between.
Speaker 1 (01:02:08):
Well, one of them. We mentioned his name about two
minutes ago. Oh that's the player. I think you're taken.
Speaker 6 (01:02:16):
Uh I don't think I was paying attention. My bad,
but uh.
Speaker 3 (01:02:23):
Yeah, my bad.
Speaker 6 (01:02:25):
Let's just go this pick here. I don't like it.
He's still another one just because of the quarterback situation.
But the dude is a beast man. He's he's like top.
Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
He's still going to be the main target.
Speaker 6 (01:02:42):
Yeah, in his routes that he runs.
Speaker 3 (01:02:44):
I mean, he will still be the main target as
long as he's healthy.
Speaker 6 (01:02:50):
If Last week, Matt Harmon Reception Perception came out with
a video talking about Chris Olave and how he's with
the top five elite players in the whole league that
can run routes.
Speaker 1 (01:03:04):
So even bad NFL teams produce solid fantasy points.
Speaker 6 (01:03:11):
Yeah, the other guy, I was thinking it was gonna
be digs.
Speaker 1 (01:03:15):
Well why would you?
Speaker 6 (01:03:16):
I guess I'm not gonna take them. So I was
just gonna say, like that was the other guy. I
was thinking at this point, he's not going to come
back to me like thirty six picks from now, So no.
Speaker 1 (01:03:28):
And I think Diggs is going to get as long
as he's been right. Solway's about else with with these
guys Diggs. Diggs could have another one hundred and twenty
and forty targets if he stays healthy. And by the way,
the guy that's drafting now can't hear us. He's not online,
So if he takes digs, it's because somebody's snitching from
the league. He's got anyway, third teams.
Speaker 5 (01:03:52):
He might be offline, but he might be on on
the YouTube street.
Speaker 2 (01:04:00):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (01:04:02):
I just I'm so ecstatic about Buca and sniping Jamie that.
Speaker 6 (01:04:07):
That was the biggest. That was more of a snipe
than the Montgomery snipe. Do you know what? Buka holds
the record for the most receptions and yards in Ohio
state history. And look who his teammates were, Like, he
was playing with Marvin Harrison, Junior, Chris O. Love, the
guy just took Jeremiah Smith, Garrett Wilson, all these big
(01:04:35):
nin guys, and he still holds the record of the
receptions and yards.
Speaker 1 (01:04:39):
So there was you know, I live here in the
Tampa Bay area and they so you get different reporting
locally than and some of it you have to you
have to kind of filter out the fluff. But when
Baker Mayfield came out and said, hey, you know, we've
got the rookies returning punts, but there's no way that's
going to be his role, he said, he is so good.
He said it in an interview last night. Baker did
(01:05:02):
that he came into camp and within the first two
weeks of camp he had learned every route for every
one of the receiver positions he's he's he knows every
route that he's supposed to run, regardless of where he's
placed on the field. To me, that's just insane for
a rookie.
Speaker 6 (01:05:18):
He's got football IQ and he's got the chops to
back it up.
Speaker 1 (01:05:22):
Man, And I think, what is he a four three
four or four three nine as well, well you cut
out here. I think he's for he run a four
to three nine or a four to three four something
like that. Some crazy right, great hands, great route, great head,
great speed.
Speaker 5 (01:05:40):
All of it.
Speaker 1 (01:05:42):
This fantastic receiver. I'm so I'm just over the moon
about that pick. And over the moon is for for
young people. That means I'm really excited over the moon,
something my grandpa would say.
Speaker 6 (01:05:52):
But okay, so Judkins, man, I don't I don't like
that pick either, because knows how ready he's going to be,
and you don't want to take risks like that right
right away.
Speaker 1 (01:06:07):
If we're starting out with such a great running back.
He's that that's a rough number three.
Speaker 7 (01:06:13):
The robot knows something we don't.
Speaker 1 (01:06:15):
Well, he still doesn't. He's still not.
Speaker 3 (01:06:18):
He he's auto drafted his last three picks.
Speaker 6 (01:06:23):
But he comes back in and takes.
Speaker 3 (01:06:24):
The thing about sleeper is on the turn. Yeah, on
the turn, it doesn't go.
Speaker 2 (01:06:31):
It doesn't stick on auto drafting goes calms down the
clock all the way again.
Speaker 4 (01:06:35):
On the turn. Oh that I was wondering about that.
Speaker 6 (01:06:47):
All right, come on, man, pick already.
Speaker 3 (01:06:51):
H you're in a hurry, Jamie.
Speaker 5 (01:06:57):
He wants to get back at Matt.
Speaker 1 (01:06:59):
But tell them there's no there are only one Abuka
on the board, so you can't, well Jr. Ready to
be drafted yet. And Derek, we'll talk offline about what
you did down at the other end, and you're I
would just say this, I'm not a fighter, you know that,
But for what you did at that if it would
have been down here, at this end of the board,
we would have probably been in. It would have been
(01:07:21):
a friendship that would have been on the rocks.
Speaker 5 (01:07:24):
Well, since we're on opposite sides, it was pretty safe.
Speaker 1 (01:07:28):
And you kind of did it to Sky and Jeff,
which is awesome for me to watch.
Speaker 4 (01:07:37):
I was really considering at that round though, if I'm
gonna be frank with.
Speaker 5 (01:07:40):
You, all yeah, I kind of figured you would, Jeff,
to be honest with you, if I didn't have Hockinson
already until I was probably going to go Ingram there.
If I waited on tight end, I would have taken
Ingram there anyway, So it would have probably just been
a flip flop of picks between you and I.
Speaker 1 (01:08:00):
Oh so I didn't even notice that it was Jeff
and Sky that went back to back on their tight
ends Ingram and Joku. Yep, very nice.
Speaker 5 (01:08:12):
Ingram in the sixth round in a draft of size
is almost criminal.
Speaker 1 (01:08:18):
Yeah, I agree. All right, Jamie, here it comes, buddy.
You're going to get that second receiver you were looking at.
Speaker 6 (01:08:28):
No, I gotta go running back here, do you though?
Speaker 7 (01:08:32):
I do?
Speaker 6 (01:08:35):
I already got got my tight end.
Speaker 3 (01:08:43):
Wide receiver super Flex all the way, baby.
Speaker 6 (01:08:46):
All the way.
Speaker 5 (01:08:47):
Hey, you know I've done it before. It's it's actually
not a bad strategy in the early weeks. What's that
not at all going going for someone other than a
quarterback in the super flex?
Speaker 7 (01:08:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:08:58):
I remember you actually the league the first year he played,
you told.
Speaker 5 (01:09:02):
Me I actually thought we just talked about Ingram and
Pierce all but I even thought about taking Ingram there
and playing him in the super flex spot. I thought
about it.
Speaker 6 (01:09:15):
In this league. I could see playing like a tight end,
like you said earlier, super flex, just with that tight
on premium. But there is a guy that could be
the starting running back from day one.
Speaker 1 (01:09:27):
Oh, this is the guy I thought for you two
rounds ago.
Speaker 6 (01:09:31):
I don't think it's a guy you're thinking of because
it's gonna be man. Because you gotta remember, rookie starts slow.
Rookie starts slow, and you got R. J. Harvey four
rounds earlier. Who's to say he's going to be the
starter right away? And by week seven, eight nine, I
(01:09:51):
could already pick up different running backs off the waiver
if I'm still alive. But I think he's safe and
off starting where he's gonna give me points.
Speaker 5 (01:10:03):
Yeah, he's going to at least give you a timeshare.
I mean good and good enough for, you know, especially
in this league, to get with you.
Speaker 6 (01:10:09):
In the Draft eighteen, I don't mind it.
Speaker 1 (01:10:14):
Quarterback one goes cam Ward gets fan.
Speaker 6 (01:10:17):
See that's the guy I was thinking of.
Speaker 1 (01:10:20):
I figured that was the name they were looking at
as the serviceable. Depends on what you think about him, Yeah,
but I mean he's he's another guy right, shoulders up.
He is awesome, and he's got good feet, quick release.
I've watched him at Washington State and he's he's a
good player. I don't understand he went to University Internet word.
He played there first, then he went to Washington State
(01:10:43):
tore it up. Then he went to Miami.
Speaker 7 (01:10:45):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:10:45):
I guess transfer portal allows players to do that clearly.
But he was successful at all three of those schools.
I think he was a what did they say, a
zero or one start quarterback coming out of high school
and turn out to be the number one pick in
the draft. So I think he's gonna be I think
he's gonna be fine. I think it's gonna be all
about Calvin Ridley, uh and his connection.
Speaker 7 (01:11:12):
What do you guys think about at N.
Speaker 6 (01:11:16):
I was also considering ETN. I just see he's taking
second snap reps behind uh Bigsby. I love tooting for
the future.
Speaker 7 (01:11:27):
So yeah, Jacksonville backfield's tough.
Speaker 1 (01:11:32):
I mean there with Barkley and Jacobs. You don't need
e TN to be e t N m v P
e t N right the running back for overall. You
need him to just play. You need to. That's the
that comes back to. You need that guy to be
floor ETN and to start the year, you don't need
him to be a superstar. Just play. Touch the ball,
(01:11:52):
get me something to move forward.
Speaker 6 (01:11:56):
And when I was thinking, like the teams that I
have them on in Dynasty, I'm gonna wait until like
week six seven, when he is going off, hopefully he
does go off. I'm gonna sell him because I don't
think he has a future with that team, just the
way that they're drafting, and I don't know where he's
gonna go after that. So here what you can for him?
Speaker 1 (01:12:23):
All right, Jamie, we are let's talk like nobody else
is listening. We're all the way at the bottom. We've
got about forty five minutes before we pick again. So
your your strategy so far. Let me scroll back over
to your squad.
Speaker 6 (01:12:40):
Yeah, well up.
Speaker 1 (01:12:44):
Right, you you're good with fields. Right, we each have
one quarterback, three receivers, and you've got two running back. Well,
two running backs? Where did we? Where are we different?
Speaker 6 (01:12:57):
I got Dobbins and Cuba have a tight end and
I have.
Speaker 1 (01:13:01):
A third receiver.
Speaker 3 (01:13:02):
Got a tight end?
Speaker 1 (01:13:04):
Yeah, so he's got bours. So what going in?
Speaker 8 (01:13:08):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:13:09):
Knowing that it's all fake, right, whatever happens happens. What
do you at the bottom where we are after third
round reversal, when you've got you know, forty five picks
before you pick again, do you feel like whatever player
is is that is in your queue that you know
is never going to make it back is better than
(01:13:30):
the guy at the top of your queue for you? Right,
because the queue is kind of ADP based, even though
you can move them up and down. But would you
reach for the guy you really want for me it
was a BUCA or would you just say I got
to go strength of ADP at this point and take
(01:13:50):
the guy that makes the most sense in an ADP
ish format.
Speaker 6 (01:13:56):
That's tough, man. It depends on the players. Honestly, I'd
have to weigh the options. I do need another running back,
I need a super flex, so I'd rather put the
wide receiver in a super flex because it's more safe,
most likely not going to get injured. But I also
need that running back. So it really depends. Right right now,
(01:14:20):
I don't have any one in my queue. It's just
too early for.
Speaker 7 (01:14:24):
I've got two in my queue, and it's a coin
flip for me.
Speaker 8 (01:14:30):
And oh Man, just based on I need more points
at the beginning of this league to stay alive.
Speaker 7 (01:14:40):
I'm going to go with Jordan Mason over Cam Scataboo.
Speaker 1 (01:14:45):
Yeah, I think that's the better pick. I think that's
the right move if you believe what Kevin O'Connell was saying.
It's true fifty to fifty, right, Aaron Jones is he's
we loved him in Green Bay, right, but his body
can't do it as the true one. He can be
the one A with a one B and Mason has
proved he can't be the one A. But they can
(01:15:07):
be the one together. And I think that that's a
that's that's different than McCaffrey and Brian Robinson, Right, that's
a true to me, that's the that's the best pick
of the draft so far. That just happened. That's the
pick that I thought, Jamie, that that.
Speaker 3 (01:15:22):
Was your guy.
Speaker 6 (01:15:23):
The it was, I was debating him each and Mason
and I was just going back and forth. I have
him back to back to back in my rankings.
Speaker 1 (01:15:31):
Yep, circle circle seven to eleven. There's no reason in
an eighteen team league that that dude should be drafted
in the middle of the seventh round with all of
the helium he's got right now, I was hoping people forgot,
right we're over here bullshitting and running through the draft,
that people just forgot and that he would make it back.
But I was not going to pass on Jacoby Myers
(01:15:53):
as my third receiver. I've got him ranked in the
top thirty six overall receivers, and I was just thinking,
if I can keep talking fast enough and we can
joke and have a good time, that maybe Bill slips.
But again, it's you know, thirty some odd picks before
we go again. But that's a with b John Robinson
a pardon he asked us to call him Bajon. That's
(01:16:15):
just how you pronounced it. He was interviewed recently Tojon
that's a great running back two for him, especially with
McBride at tight end premium, but another team with only
one quarterback, so he's got some super flex to feel.
Speaker 6 (01:16:28):
Just like we do.
Speaker 1 (01:16:28):
Jamie.
Speaker 6 (01:16:33):
Actually, I am eyeing a running back, but he is
projected to come back to me like way later, and
I have him right behind at mister Bill. We'll see
if it comes.
Speaker 3 (01:16:46):
Back to me.
Speaker 1 (01:16:49):
Yeah, Mike c has survived pretty well. Not to give
away my plan, which is usually all wide receivers and
early and often. And I got my three running backs,
and I'm shocked that I did. I just I'm not
a I'm not a big fan of running backs in
fantasy football, but I think guillotine with three running backs
(01:17:12):
changes the entire algorithm of a draft, and it's not
necessarily always about best player available. I think you if
you don't go into that first quarter of the season
with three running back ones, you could be in a
world to hurt. Again. They can be floor players too. Well,
there goes your scatman.
Speaker 4 (01:17:38):
Every running back wana just got taken.
Speaker 5 (01:17:41):
What's that?
Speaker 1 (01:17:42):
Look at the how many in a row is that?
Speaker 6 (01:17:45):
For one? Carbon?
Speaker 1 (01:17:47):
So that eight eight in the round? So far nine
in the round No One, two, three, four, five, six
seven eight in the round, and there's still four picks
in the round. Five pick. Excuse me, that's crazy.
Speaker 6 (01:18:06):
All right, I'm gonna be right back. I'm gonna go
grab another beer, take a bathroom break. I know I'm
up in like twenty minutes, so I got time.
Speaker 1 (01:18:14):
There's nine in the round, Jeff, nine yeah, nine nine
running backs in this round. I've got a name for
you though, all right, Dave, Jeff, I'm gonna go fill
(01:18:35):
up with water. I will be back in just a moment, Derek.
The show's the shows all yours. When you talk through your.
Speaker 5 (01:18:43):
Picks, Jeff Verson, don't do it. Yeah, there's definitely some
(01:19:03):
very contrasting makeups, which which you would expect in a
league this size, with the super flax and the tight
end premium. So yeah, it's it's gonna be really interesting.
That's that's what makes these leagues so fun. You know, again,
it's just a it's a race to not be last,
and you know, you look at some of these teams
(01:19:24):
and and you just think there's no way they could
be last, and mhm. Every now and then.
Speaker 3 (01:19:32):
The whole thing is it's week to week, that's right.
Speaker 1 (01:19:35):
You get you get, you.
Speaker 3 (01:19:36):
Get a chance to bid on players that from the
team that goes down.
Speaker 2 (01:19:40):
So you know, it's not a disaster to be weak
in an individual position.
Speaker 5 (01:19:47):
Right Yeah, and as long as you prioritize how to
build it back up, right yep. And that gets into
the whole fab strategy, which is totally different as well.
So it's a whole nother rink.
Speaker 4 (01:20:00):
Well, yeah, I don't love this pick, but m yeah,
(01:20:24):
we'll just do it.
Speaker 7 (01:20:26):
You go.
Speaker 5 (01:20:30):
Yeah, I kind of thought you were gonna do that.
Speaker 6 (01:20:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:20:34):
Again, All you gotta do is make its week two.
Speaker 4 (01:20:37):
Oh, I know, that's what I'm like. If he gets
half the carries week one, I'm okay. Yeah. I can't
believe the amount of running backs this round. I was
hoping that what we said out of all of this,
all of these running backs, I was hoping at least
two of them would fall to me in this round,
in the eighth round. But it didn't happen. Learn my
(01:21:05):
lesson for next year, don't wait on running back.
Speaker 5 (01:21:10):
Well, you know, it's you're never no one's ever going
to leave this draft completely, you know, without any holes.
It's just it's one of those things. It's just so
many players that have to start with question marks.
Speaker 2 (01:21:26):
And well, you know, and in a league this size,
it's it's it's it's hard to do a super flex
with two quarterbacks because you know somebody's gonna come up, right.
Speaker 1 (01:21:43):
Yeah, did you take that all the way down to
the wire.
Speaker 5 (01:21:47):
About a minute?
Speaker 4 (01:21:48):
Yeah, just brutal. It's not what I was expecting. But
it's all right, all.
Speaker 1 (01:21:55):
Right now, So mega minds on the clock. Two of
the next four picks.
Speaker 5 (01:22:01):
Yeah, and uh, you know, I had a small que
and I just watched it dwindle. No, it's gone.
Speaker 1 (01:22:11):
Yeah, you could do.
Speaker 5 (01:22:13):
It's completely gone.
Speaker 6 (01:22:17):
So I will tell you.
Speaker 1 (01:22:18):
One thing that I did, and I know, Derek you're
concentrating here. One thing I did before everybody jumped on
is I went, based on other drafts that we've been in.
I went down each position, like quarterbacks. Right, there's thirty
six of them, what are you going to do? I
went down the running back and receiver lists and looked
for certain players that I knew that they had dropped
(01:22:41):
in other leagues or that when they got drafted, I thought,
oh my god, I did I forgot all about this guy.
I threw all of them in my queue, agnostic to
when I was drafting or how the board would fall
to me and then the obvious names, right, the top
flight guys, the James Conners, the Roma Doon Days, the
Garrett Wilson's names like that. I didn't even put in
(01:23:03):
the queue because if they come to me, I know,
I'm just going to draft that. But each time before
I drafted so far, I went out to that draft
board or to my queue and said, all right, who's there.
That's how I ended up with DeAndre Swift because I
would have forgot about DeAndre Swift because he's just he's
not the household name that he used to be. But
to be my running back three, I'm ecstatic about it.
Speaker 3 (01:23:28):
He should be solid for Ben Johnson.
Speaker 5 (01:23:31):
Mark didn't even give me time to think about this
next pick.
Speaker 1 (01:23:35):
You had two guys in mind, Derek, and now that
you just take the second one.
Speaker 4 (01:23:39):
I did get.
Speaker 5 (01:23:40):
My two guys I had in mind were Zach Charbonnet
and Tank Pigs.
Speaker 1 (01:23:46):
For that they're gone.
Speaker 5 (01:23:47):
I think, yes, well, thanks man, you're welcome.
Speaker 1 (01:23:55):
Do you want to know where they can give you
that styles? Styles with the expert analysis? Thank you?
Speaker 5 (01:24:04):
See nothing nothing gets by him?
Speaker 6 (01:24:07):
No?
Speaker 5 (01:24:09):
All right, Well, so I got to think a little
bit there's a couple of different ways I can go here.
Speaker 1 (01:24:17):
Eleven out of eighteen picks. I mean that's it's significant.
And one of the teams that didn't took their first quarterback.
This is this is almost fantasy football karma Jeff with
(01:24:42):
what he did with those receivers, like he's having to
pay the price for.
Speaker 4 (01:24:45):
That now, poetic justice.
Speaker 5 (01:24:53):
Yeah, I mean, well, we're just getting to the point
where you know, there's just not a sure thing anymore. No, yeah,
and you just got to, you know, make the best
decision that you can with what you know. And I
mean there are some situations where there's there are carries
out there for running backs and there are receptions out
there for receivers, but you know, how much are you
(01:25:14):
going to get?
Speaker 1 (01:25:15):
It's just we have we have a philosopher on the team.
His name is Dave Cruz, and he said very poignantly
earlier tonight, you just have to get through week one.
Speaker 5 (01:25:28):
That is true.
Speaker 1 (01:25:29):
If you get through week one, then you just got
to get through week two.
Speaker 5 (01:25:33):
All right. So I'm going to take a flyer here
and see see how that turns out.
Speaker 3 (01:25:44):
Like that than Judkins.
Speaker 5 (01:25:48):
Say, yeah, I mean that again, Judkins is not going
to give you anything in week one, even if he signs,
even if he signs tomorrow, he's not gonna know. He's
not going to get more than a handful of carries.
So there's gonna be carries out there.
Speaker 6 (01:26:08):
For for sam You took the guy an Algan tape.
Speaker 1 (01:26:15):
Well that's the third you get beer.
Speaker 6 (01:26:20):
Beer. What are you doing taking him?
Speaker 11 (01:26:23):
Man?
Speaker 5 (01:26:25):
That was a long shot snipe from there, all the
way from the other side of the board.
Speaker 1 (01:26:32):
We told Derek that you were going to take Samson
while you're not getting your beer.
Speaker 6 (01:26:36):
So I'll blame that. Yeah, I have him like right
by the camp Scatobows, the tank, Big Spies, well the
Moderick Stephenson's so that that's a great pick that way.
I love it.
Speaker 2 (01:26:50):
Yeah, to use a baseball analogy, a little a little
chin music for whatever it's worth.
Speaker 1 (01:26:58):
I have had six running back in my queue outside
of Bill and Jordan Mason that whole round. Those six
are still there and I and I would take all
six of them over. Javonte, Scataboo, Eckler, Bigsby, Stevenson, Samson,
(01:27:19):
and Aji Harris.
Speaker 5 (01:27:24):
Yeah, the Charbon Day pick is the one that really
really kind of threw me. I that's that's a player
I want to have more of. And not that I
said I want.
Speaker 3 (01:27:35):
I wanted him, but I just wasn't willing to reach
that high for him.
Speaker 5 (01:27:39):
Yeah, And it's not that Kenny Kenny Walker is not
a good player, and he is, and it's not and
it's not even just the injury risk there, which there is,
but he's he's a dynamic player. I mean, he could
play and and you know, if that ends up being
more of a run heavy year offense, you know, especially uh,
(01:28:03):
you know with the new quarterback and the new system, Uh,
there's gonna be enough carries to supply both of those guys.
Speaker 4 (01:28:10):
So I really liked that pick.
Speaker 5 (01:28:12):
That was That was one that I was really.
Speaker 2 (01:28:15):
I think that's one of those picks that I mean,
one of those situations where it's probably like Matt was
talking about earlier, where there are maybe two ones instead
of you know, a one in a two or one
A and one B.
Speaker 5 (01:28:32):
Yeah, and to a lesser degree bigs because is that
as well with ETN. So that that was a good
pick there.
Speaker 1 (01:28:40):
Jeff, that's one of my six. That was one of
the six names. I think that's a fantastic pick.
Speaker 3 (01:28:46):
I think you weren't going to get that. You weren't
going to get him, Matt, No, I.
Speaker 1 (01:28:53):
Was confident of that, But I was also confident of
that around and a half ago that I wasn't going
to get him. I I would take Brayleen Allen ninety
nine times out of one hundred over Javonte Williams. I
think that's a true split backfield where Brice Hall is
(01:29:15):
gonna get more in the passing game, but Braylan Allen's
gonna get goal line and he's gonna get he's gonna
have plenty of care. Again, you gotta make it through
week one, Jeff. And so you need you want little
touches from Braylan Allen. You get twelve touches from him,
you're probably good. Same with Bigsby. You can get twelve touches,
you're probably good.
Speaker 3 (01:29:32):
Good.
Speaker 4 (01:29:32):
Yeah, it's all I need. So I'm hoping for. And
there's still one more guy out there that I think
we'll have some value week one as well.
Speaker 1 (01:29:40):
And do you have a let me go. Look, that's
a great pick right there too. Oh and you have
Pollard as your third Yeah, you're.
Speaker 8 (01:29:48):
In good shape.
Speaker 4 (01:29:51):
Yeah. Not the sexiest, but uh, hopefully I make it
to the next round and you know, and I can
add someone through waivers.
Speaker 6 (01:30:01):
So I got a question, how much fab are you
willing to be with Madison in week one once that
team's eliminated.
Speaker 1 (01:30:09):
Because I won't say if you if you led the
league in scoring, I would probably not spend any FAB
until I needed to.
Speaker 5 (01:30:19):
Well, yeah, that's that's not a winning strategy, no, but I.
Speaker 1 (01:30:24):
Want to keep fab for when I needed. If I
don't feel I needed.
Speaker 5 (01:30:27):
After week one that yeah. But to Jamie's point though,
you know, there's yeah, you know people are going to
be bidden up for the bigger names, and he is
a bigger name, but he's still got it, has a
couple more weeks left, or he'll be on on suspension,
you know, if he becomes available after week one, and
(01:30:48):
you know, how much do you pay for someone who's
not going to contribute for a couple of weeks, you know,
sitting on your bench, because then you know then you're
vulnerable as well. So you know, there's been so many
times in these Gillies guillotine leagues where you know you
you either you miss out and don't make any moves
or you know, you go after an injured guy and
(01:31:09):
stash him like you would at a redraft, you know,
for instance, and next thing you know, he's back on
the wire. So it's it's definitely a different ballgame.
Speaker 1 (01:31:18):
Here is Moody off the injury report. There, Drew, he's not.
Speaker 7 (01:31:28):
But that small stack is what I'm hoping for. Yeah, yeah,
hear me, All.
Speaker 5 (01:31:40):
Yeah, we got you, Drew.
Speaker 1 (01:31:41):
Yeah yeah, you're just not. We can't see you, but
we can hear you.
Speaker 7 (01:31:49):
Okay, we have issues here, but.
Speaker 1 (01:31:56):
Okay, thought the stack was going to be with pitts.
That would have been the sexier stack.
Speaker 7 (01:32:05):
Right, mmmm, the pit stack. I don't know, I'm really going.
I'm hoping just uh, you know, he throws those home
runs and Mooney.
Speaker 1 (01:32:17):
There there it goes. My draft just blew up.
Speaker 6 (01:32:23):
So, speaking of the blowing your stash, I wrote this
article about the eighteen leagues, right, and it's it's it's
it's a fun article. And this is a little paragraph
I wrote. So it's freshman year, right, you remember back
in high school was freshman year. Your friend just got paid.
He bought a whole ounce and smoked it all by Tuesday.
Now he's digging through the ash trays for roaches. That's
(01:32:45):
like overspending your fab early. So don't be that guy.
You got to say stash when the real snacks hit.
Speaker 5 (01:32:54):
That's a good analogy.
Speaker 1 (01:33:00):
And I don't know who who Marco is, but he
just got taken off the Christmas card list. That was so,
I kid you not. From the before the draft started,
I had it.
Speaker 6 (01:33:14):
I was in Craft to these players that I wanted.
Speaker 1 (01:33:17):
I hate.
Speaker 2 (01:33:18):
I hate to break it. I hate to break it
to you, Matt. He wasn't making it to you, Matt.
Once Braylen Allen was gone, that was my next pick.
Speaker 1 (01:33:29):
A lot of of my queue since thirty minutes before
the draft. As soon as I moved him to the
top of the queue, he got drafted. I swear there's
cameras in this room.
Speaker 3 (01:33:42):
There very well could be.
Speaker 1 (01:33:44):
Oh I'll find.
Speaker 5 (01:33:45):
Them especially painful in when he's not only a homer pick.
I'll say it to a team who doesn't have a
tight end.
Speaker 1 (01:33:53):
And where does Tucker Craft play?
Speaker 5 (01:33:56):
Yeah, it's a home home er pick.
Speaker 1 (01:34:01):
So I'm destined to start Chig in week one, Drew,
did you see what they just did to me? Dirty?
Speaker 8 (01:34:07):
There?
Speaker 1 (01:34:08):
I have no tight end and dude doubles up with
his Bears tight end.
Speaker 7 (01:34:15):
I'm in the same boat. Oh yeah, man, I am
in the same boat.
Speaker 5 (01:34:23):
Well, there's a couple down here at this end that
don't have tight ends.
Speaker 1 (01:34:27):
Well, and there's there's not a tight end worth drafting
at this point. Not I'm that's gonna do anything in
tight end premium.
Speaker 6 (01:34:34):
That's what you think. Man, I see like seven or
eight nine tight ends that I want on my team
right now.
Speaker 1 (01:34:41):
Well, just remember I have to say that so that
you think I don't know what I'm doing, and I
don't know what I'm doing.
Speaker 7 (01:34:49):
Yeah, he's playing games right now.
Speaker 1 (01:34:52):
I'm the I'm the comedy relief of this team. I
don't win leagues.
Speaker 5 (01:34:57):
It's not true. Show them the trophy.
Speaker 1 (01:35:01):
I mean, I don't win all the leagues.
Speaker 4 (01:35:06):
That I do win some of the league.
Speaker 5 (01:35:08):
Yeah, and how many years was that in the making.
Speaker 1 (01:35:11):
I don't even count.
Speaker 6 (01:35:14):
You guys, notice the Downs and Pittman. They're starting to
get closer and closer together now, yeah, because Downs is
like two sometimes even three rounds. I had a Pittman
and I was grabbing Pittman so late if I missed
out on Downs. Now they're going almost back to back.
Speaker 1 (01:35:34):
And I've noticed too that any positive report out of
camp or any positive game footage out of preseason, and
these guys just rock it up draft boards. And it
doesn't I mean outside of Bill in Washington.
Speaker 5 (01:35:51):
Or Henderson.
Speaker 1 (01:35:53):
Henderson, Yeah, with the kick the first time he catches
the ball, he goes one hundred and one. And there's
a couple other players, but for the most part, any
positive news, they go firing up the board like I've
been waiting Keenan Allen, Right, Oh, you get signed by
the Chargers. That was just his old team. He's gonna
go back and kill it. And then I'm like, what,
I don't he's not moving up my board significantly. Oh wonderful,
(01:36:18):
that's fun to see. Oh, here we go. So there's
two of the nine or ten that you were looking at, Jamie.
Speaker 6 (01:36:27):
This is fun.
Speaker 1 (01:36:31):
Brutal.
Speaker 4 (01:36:32):
Wow, two teams have two tight ends it.
Speaker 7 (01:36:34):
It's interesting.
Speaker 1 (01:36:36):
Yeah, and they're both jerks.
Speaker 4 (01:36:43):
You still got all reliable here coming up.
Speaker 1 (01:36:45):
Maybe you gotta make it through week ones, so you
can't draft Isaiah Likely right, just brutal. And Johnny Smith
is never going to be Jonny Smith from Miami again,
mainly because his coach is Arthur Smith, and Arthur Smith
(01:37:08):
doesn't do good for a fantasy.
Speaker 11 (01:37:10):
Well, we know how how much he loves tight ends. O,
my god, Friarmthan and John new Smith are probably gonna
have just brutal seasons.
Speaker 1 (01:37:21):
But they don't. I don't know who's the who's the
wide receiver two and three in Pittsburgh Calvin Austin, Wilson.
Speaker 6 (01:37:27):
And Calvin Austin.
Speaker 5 (01:37:31):
So for for the rest of you who are following
along on YouTube, chime in in the chat. Let us
know what you're feeling in the draft, how you feel
your team is or there's been any have you been
sniped by anybody? Let us know. Let us know what
what it looks like from your in and if you're there.
Speaker 1 (01:37:49):
While you're in there, lists some tight ends that are
available that would be a good neighbor.
Speaker 6 (01:37:55):
Also, you're not drafting with us, tell us what team
you like the best and why it's team at the
seventeenth pick.
Speaker 1 (01:38:03):
Yeah, it's clearly the quarterback pick.
Speaker 5 (01:38:07):
Yeah. I mean, we are not usually nice to our guests,
but let's let's not get carried away.
Speaker 1 (01:38:15):
At this point. Jamie's more like family, right. He comes
over forgetting and people you have to be nice to know.
Speaker 5 (01:38:21):
Jamie's family doesn't get get your own beer.
Speaker 1 (01:38:25):
Yeah, Jamie doesn't take your shoes off when he comes
in the front door anymore. He's got his own He's
got his own easy chair in the living room. He
knows where the remote is stored.
Speaker 5 (01:38:36):
He brings the eight layer dip, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:38:39):
Or just the chips for the eight layer dip. His
own chips, right, he brings like the mini bag. Jamie's
the guy that brings a six pack for himself. Oh
there go, look at Roger's mom celebrating through it just happened.
Speaker 7 (01:39:03):
Hey, you're off the He's out of the dark light.
Speaker 6 (01:39:10):
I hate but a lot of it.
Speaker 2 (01:39:14):
I hate that pick, but a lot of the guys
I wanted to stick in the super Flex went off
the board since my last pick.
Speaker 3 (01:39:21):
So maybe I only need him a week.
Speaker 5 (01:39:27):
Well that might not be all you get.
Speaker 7 (01:39:36):
Four snaps.
Speaker 6 (01:39:37):
Thank god? All right, you didn't stike me this time.
Speaker 1 (01:39:43):
I'm not that bad a guy.
Speaker 6 (01:39:45):
Yeah, I got a few options here. What should I do?
Speaker 7 (01:39:52):
All right?
Speaker 6 (01:39:52):
So the guy behind me, he's on auto pick. So
none of the guys that I see the auto pick,
So he's gonna get Brian Robinson and Godwin. If he
doesn't have a Q set, I'm gonna take a guy
that I think is gonna be a smash that tight end,
especially in Titan Premium. He's the only tight end. He's
(01:40:14):
the only receiving option and that whole offense that was
on that team last year.
Speaker 1 (01:40:18):
Oh shit.
Speaker 6 (01:40:21):
So it's gonna be Hunter Henry because he was injured
right now and you have Diggs. Yeah, Diggs is gonna
get it. But the only rapport May has is with
Hunter Henry.
Speaker 5 (01:40:36):
Yeah. Yeah, that's good pick.
Speaker 1 (01:40:38):
That's a second pick.
Speaker 6 (01:40:40):
I do need Wait where are we at in this? Uh?
Speaker 1 (01:40:45):
I did not think Jamie was going tight end because
he has Bowers, but that was my other that was
the name I was hoping to get coming back.
Speaker 6 (01:40:52):
Well that's what you get for taking a BUCA.
Speaker 1 (01:40:55):
That's fair.
Speaker 6 (01:40:57):
There's only one other quarterback that I can see having
some top weeks and Daniel Jones.
Speaker 5 (01:41:05):
Yeah, I know he's not.
Speaker 6 (01:41:09):
He he is a starter. He's got a crap guy
behind him who may not even be in the NFL
much longer. Why not? I don't like it?
Speaker 5 (01:41:21):
Well, it gives you options.
Speaker 6 (01:41:23):
Yeah. People call him Danny Dimes. I call him Danny Pennies.
Speaker 5 (01:41:29):
Well, and they got rid of the pennies or getting
rid of the pennies.
Speaker 6 (01:41:32):
So zach Ertz, that's not a good that's that's not bad, man,
I like it.
Speaker 1 (01:41:41):
I'm hoping for end of season zach Ertz not last
three seasons before zach Ertz.
Speaker 6 (01:41:47):
Overall, he was top seven last year and people are
fading him so hard.
Speaker 1 (01:41:54):
Well, and if but Chlorin still is trying to be
Tara Owens or Antonio Brown and Earth's is going to
be even more important again. You just gotta make it through.
Speaker 4 (01:42:09):
Week one.
Speaker 1 (01:42:14):
I love, Jeff. What a time to be alive when
three Cleveland running backs are off the board.
Speaker 4 (01:42:20):
Huh yeah, that's gross.
Speaker 6 (01:42:22):
Yeah, I didn't need a running back. I think start.
Speaker 1 (01:42:31):
I'm waiting for Derek to take Leroy Horde.
Speaker 5 (01:42:35):
I might.
Speaker 1 (01:42:40):
So he'll probably have more carries in week one, or
he'll have just as many carries as Quinn on Jenkins
well in week one. All right, So see that those
running backs, there's three more that I had on my list. Toot,
Algier and Benson were in that list of six Jeff nights, man,
I love I still have two on my list from
(01:43:01):
that original group of six.
Speaker 4 (01:43:05):
So tell me why you love twoting so much? All right,
so are you talking dynasty or this year dynasty?
Speaker 6 (01:43:13):
Not not this year, but dynasty. I do love him.
I'm gonna try to pull up my notes. But every
time I watched that to play, all I hear is
Rick James in the background. Super free. The dude is
a super free athletic guy. Like not not only is
(01:43:34):
he good as he could pass catch, he's also underrated
at the goal line. And he ran a four three
to two that's like a hundredth percentile for running back.
That's insane, ninety eight percentile in the speed score and
ninety seven percentile in the burst score. So he dropped.
(01:43:56):
I think it was a two hundred and sixty six
yard rushing game. And uh he left Virginia Tech with
two single game rushing records. And then he he's that
home home run hitter man, Like once he speaks past you,
you ain't catching up to him. He's a home run hitter,
So I'm all about him.
Speaker 7 (01:44:17):
Man.
Speaker 1 (01:44:18):
He's also built just like he's almost a carbon copy
of Bucky Irby, except he's got ten pounds on Bucky Irby.
Speaker 6 (01:44:26):
So my, tom My, tom Now this is a little extreme,
but think CJ. Spiller and Jamal Charles upside. But he
also could end up being that Elijah Moore or Pierre Strong.
But even if we get like a mix in the
middle of that, he's gonna be a steal in dynasty leagues.
Speaker 7 (01:44:52):
All right, time of reckoning. The tight end that I
did have my eye on has come to me in
red It's not it's not Johnny. It's not Johnny.
Speaker 6 (01:45:05):
I like this guy. Oh, Mason, that's my sneaky, sneaky player. Man.
I said he's gonna be a top twelve tight in
this year only because he's gonna be the second target. Yeah,
I love that pick. Man, I'd rather you'd rather have
Mason Taylor. Since I have Fields, I should have stacked him.
Speaker 1 (01:45:25):
Anybody that thinks Josh Reynolds is a true wide receiver
to raise your hand, Yeah, exactly, it's gonna it's gonna
have to well it be Brisall probably is the second
receiving option to Mason Taylor when if, and when he's healthy,
it's the number three, especially if they've formed any type
of chemistry in camp, and I don't. Fields doesn't have
(01:45:48):
chemistry with anybody because he's just awful. But you know
you can hope for the guy.
Speaker 6 (01:45:56):
I remember, Mason Taylor has that bloodline in him. Yep,
Jason Taylor. And uh, he's also Jason Taylor's sister married.
Speaker 1 (01:46:07):
Who's that guy, Jason Momoa.
Speaker 6 (01:46:12):
No, I'm drawing a blank, Dean Kane. I'm looking it up.
I have it in my notes somewhere. But Jason Taylor,
his sister married an NFL linebacker. So Mason Taylor has
(01:46:32):
been around the game his whole life, lives and breathe that.
Speaker 1 (01:46:38):
Anybody want to take Mark's question, Derek, that might be
one for You've got a couple of years in guillotine.
Speaker 5 (01:46:44):
All right, so hold on then, O our stacks good
in guillotine? So yes, I think they are to a
degree many stacks, maybe a pair of many stacks. He
even Uh, you saw Sky especially early, you know, taking
(01:47:05):
the three first stack, which that's that's ballz to me.
But the running back, receiver and quarterback, that's a little
ballsy because you're putting a lot all your We'll see
you're putting a lot of eggs in one basket. And
granted it's a it's a hefty basket, but uh, Yeah,
I'm a I'm a fan of stacking in in guillotine leagues.
(01:47:27):
I would prefer two mini stacks versus one larger stack.
But yeah, I think it's aka has merit.
Speaker 6 (01:47:36):
Yeah, you're you're betting on what the offense should do. Right,
Instead of two random players that are you're hoping to
go off, you're putting the two players together that are
supposed to go off and get points for your team, right,
So it's less of a risk.
Speaker 5 (01:47:54):
Yeah, and you're betting on the offense itself more than
you're betting on players. You know, we're throwing we're throwing
darts at players right now. But yeah, you're betting more
on the offensive a success in that way.
Speaker 6 (01:48:11):
Don't don't go for a brown stack or so I
got a lave. I wasn't gonna take Tyler Shuck just
because I have a lave, because that's a horrible stack. Right,
speaking of browns, Flacco just.
Speaker 1 (01:48:30):
Went Michael went Auto.
Speaker 6 (01:48:36):
The very next pick. I love that Tilman pick.
Speaker 1 (01:48:39):
Yeah, Derek's a fan.
Speaker 6 (01:48:41):
Yeah, Tilman is. I'm gonna be talking about it on
my Wednesday show this week. We're doing buys and sells,
and Tillman is my bye Man. You're getting him in
Dynasty at wide receiver sixty and he's got that wide
receiver thirty upside. His best comparable player is Neil Collins.
(01:49:02):
Neil Collins broke out at the same time in his
career that Tilman is in. Now, I'm not saying Tilman
is going to be a top twelve guy, but top
thirty isn't out of the question. Man.
Speaker 5 (01:49:15):
Yeah, we did the show last week, Sleepers, and he
was my sleeper, was Tilman.
Speaker 6 (01:49:21):
He also meshes very well with Flecco. So as long
as fleck is the starter, Flecka likes to sling it
down field, and Tilman's that big bodied guy that can
get open and get those contested catches. So I love Tilmans.
I got like forty six percent of Tillman in my
Best Ball Leagues.
Speaker 3 (01:49:42):
Well awesome.
Speaker 2 (01:49:42):
My Waco played Cincinnati in Week one, so it's a
pretty solid super flex pick for Week one.
Speaker 1 (01:49:52):
He's going to need him to start at receiver with
Jordan Addison not playing. Yep, that team owner has Chase
and Tillman with Addison not going to be playing, so
he's got to fill a wide receiver spot and a
super Yeah, Ben needs another receiver for Week one.
Speaker 2 (01:50:15):
He doesn't have Flacco, so he's got three he's got Yeah,
you're right, Addison's definitely.
Speaker 1 (01:50:23):
I feel bad for Ben Jamar. Chase falls right into
his lap and then he just goes on tilt with
NFC North quarterbacks. The two that you don't want.
Speaker 3 (01:50:42):
Rough, Yeah, Joshua Palmer, Jeffersons.
Speaker 4 (01:50:46):
Guy yep to the Moon to the move.
Speaker 6 (01:50:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:50:50):
I love Week one against the Ravens fifty one?
Speaker 1 (01:50:54):
Yeah, what season is it?
Speaker 6 (01:50:57):
Season? He was dropping PASTU all day? Define him until
I saw that preseason.
Speaker 1 (01:51:04):
Game, Jefferson, What season is it?
Speaker 4 (01:51:09):
Joshua Palmer to the moon, double dipping in best ball
and it seen hopefully works out.
Speaker 1 (01:51:17):
Yeah, or you'll have to find a new hobby early. Unfortunately,
golf's always there. Speaking of which, Tommy Fleetwood finally wins
a tournament today for anybody that follows golf even loosely.
Speaker 6 (01:51:33):
He had there, came back and actually.
Speaker 1 (01:51:36):
To finishes without winning a tournament in PGA history, and
then he finally won today.
Speaker 4 (01:51:45):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (01:51:46):
Derek gets nice home run hitter. They're going to be
throwing all day, well, they're going to have to. Yeah,
And if you want to If you want a little
positivity for Tyler show go look at the the improvement
in their offensive line. They the Saints have a much
better offensive line than they did last year. Not getting
(01:52:07):
not going to translate into a ton of wins, but
I think he'll have a little bit more time to
throw the ball than Derek car did.
Speaker 6 (01:52:15):
Yeah, I'd like Tyler Schelt going in. And he's a
good game manager. He's got sneaky wills. He's a big,
big body guy. And go check out that front flip
he did against h.
Speaker 2 (01:52:28):
Crap.
Speaker 6 (01:52:29):
I can't remember what college, but he front flipped over
this guy into the end zone.
Speaker 1 (01:52:37):
Yeah, but which one of us on the I mean,
who hasn't done that?
Speaker 6 (01:52:40):
Right?
Speaker 4 (01:52:43):
I just don't see it with him. I went to
Tech and I watched every game and he played there
after transfer from Oregon and translating, I just don't see
it translating.
Speaker 6 (01:52:54):
The one year band aid because next year Saints are
going to get the one O two, one O three
and they're gonna draft the quarterback.
Speaker 5 (01:53:04):
Well, you'll you don't think Archie Manning's grandson. Wouldn't that
be a story?
Speaker 6 (01:53:09):
Well that's gonna be twenty twenty seven.
Speaker 5 (01:53:12):
You don't think he'll come out early.
Speaker 6 (01:53:14):
No, I don't think he is. I think the Manning
family is too smart and they're gonna get him his
money in college because he wants to start as much
as he can in college. You gotta remember he didn't
start right away.
Speaker 5 (01:53:28):
Yeah, that's true. That's true.
Speaker 1 (01:53:30):
He's probably gonna end up with the Colts as the
starter in twenty seven.
Speaker 6 (01:53:43):
Man, that's drafting looks quick.
Speaker 1 (01:53:46):
Solid picks on the turn I've been I've been screaming
about Bateman being such a an absolute steal this late
and and I mean we're talking in this guillotine. It's
a steal at that late in the draft. That's crazy.
Speaker 6 (01:54:01):
Yeah, I had an argument with this guy. He was
taking Bateman and best Ball three rounds ahead of where
I was taking Tillman.
Speaker 1 (01:54:12):
I'm not doing that.
Speaker 6 (01:54:14):
Argument argument about it. And finally I got him to
come around. Now he's actually taken Tillman and a lot
of his leagues. He does live streams too, nice and blunt.
I will go check him out. If you ever seen
my name is Earl. He was the French kid in
that episode that Earl picked on and made him run away.
Speaker 1 (01:54:38):
What an What an underrated comedy show.
Speaker 6 (01:54:42):
Name, my name is Earl.
Speaker 5 (01:54:44):
Yeah, that was a great show.
Speaker 1 (01:54:48):
And then the big guy turned into a neo Nazi
in American history X it was a character character.
Speaker 6 (01:54:56):
How this dude's jacked? Oh you know about he was?
Speaker 1 (01:55:02):
He was in the varsity Blues too, wasn't he? Mm
hmm Yeah, there's a.
Speaker 6 (01:55:07):
Lot a lot of stuff. World means the world.
Speaker 1 (01:55:12):
In high school he had ripped. Now, it's crazy how
much weight that guy's lost. That was another one of
the sixth right there, jeff Ray Davis.
Speaker 3 (01:55:22):
Ye fears.
Speaker 1 (01:55:23):
So that should clear all of those six running backs out.
Speaker 6 (01:55:26):
Ye, there's absolutely no running backs left.
Speaker 1 (01:55:31):
Anthony Richardson, Okay.
Speaker 6 (01:55:36):
Play them at running back? God damn none. There's no
running backs spot.
Speaker 1 (01:55:51):
Zach Moss. Remember how I told you that that worked
out for me? You're right, No, it's just trash out there. Yeah,
(01:56:12):
he's just doing it till you left and right.
Speaker 6 (01:56:14):
Believe that.
Speaker 3 (01:56:15):
Jeff pass Marks.
Speaker 1 (01:56:18):
I'm shocked.
Speaker 6 (01:56:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:56:20):
I think Chris Rodriguez might actually get real touches.
Speaker 7 (01:56:29):
He looks better in the preseason.
Speaker 5 (01:56:31):
Mm hm, But what does that mean?
Speaker 4 (01:56:36):
I know all I have was Austin Eckler, and you
got Bill a rookie, so it's like, uh, something's gotta give.
Speaker 6 (01:56:44):
So we're at the point in the draft where once
team has won, gets eliminated. We're gonna be dropping these
last four players off of our bench.
Speaker 1 (01:56:58):
Yes, unless they unless they smash right, then you might
have a tough decision. But do we have five picks
left for us down at the bottom.
Speaker 3 (01:57:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:57:13):
Five, So he's got Godwin, ben As Godwin, and Addison.
Speaker 3 (01:57:25):
Yikes. Uh uh.
Speaker 6 (01:57:33):
Man, this the eighteenth spot. It is brutal. I'm just
I'm looking at his team and seeing who I want
to scoop up week one.
Speaker 1 (01:57:45):
That's gonna be one of the top five on his team.
Because the discussion stops there.
Speaker 4 (01:57:55):
How much has been for Bucky?
Speaker 5 (01:57:57):
You know, the odds are he's gonna survive, no doubt.
Money will get two touchdowns, perty you'll have a big game.
Speaker 1 (01:58:06):
There goes your guy, Jeff.
Speaker 4 (01:58:10):
I was considering him or Palmer, but like Palmer's Week
one better.
Speaker 6 (01:58:19):
Oh that's hurt.
Speaker 1 (01:58:20):
Yeah, I don't tell my secret, but it's about to happen.
What you texted me is about to happen.
Speaker 4 (01:58:26):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (01:58:27):
I know you think it'll happen.
Speaker 4 (01:58:30):
M Yeah, actually I do I think there's.
Speaker 1 (01:58:33):
An outside chance, a far outside chance.
Speaker 6 (01:58:48):
I'm just so glad you guys aren't including kicker and defense.
Speaker 1 (01:58:53):
Yeah, there's only one. There's only one kicker in the
NFL if its name is not Brandon McMahons, and that's
Brandon Aubrey. Those are the just draft of Brandon and
you're gonna win your league?
Speaker 6 (01:59:06):
What is? What is?
Speaker 8 (01:59:07):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (01:59:07):
I think, Kim Littlewell I had said, join the conversation man.
Speaker 1 (01:59:10):
This is fifty eight for sixty two since he signed
with Green Bay. All, kay, it's fifty eight for sixty two.
Speaker 6 (01:59:17):
You guys heard about that new rule that they're allowing
the staff to doctor up the ball before game day
because before it was only like, what one hour before
game time that they were able to like massage the
balls and make it how it soft and everything. But
(01:59:39):
now they can do it the previous day.
Speaker 1 (01:59:44):
We're gonna have to cut We're gonna have to cut
that whole sentence out, Jamie. We're gonna have to The
FCC is gonna shut us down if you keep on
that path. H m hm. But they let Stern get
away with it for many years, so maybe we'll be
(02:00:05):
all right. Three tight ends Andrews Goddard and Johnny Smith. Wow,
mixing Chubb and Benson. Does he have another running back?
Speaker 6 (02:00:31):
Receivers?
Speaker 1 (02:00:32):
McLaurin is holding in.
Speaker 7 (02:00:34):
Oh boy, he's proud. He's a proud Texan. That mix
and Chubb do.
Speaker 10 (02:00:43):
I was going to do it for him, yes, range
all right, love it.
Speaker 4 (02:00:57):
Styles to the thak what he here?
Speaker 6 (02:01:00):
But obviously he's gone, all right.
Speaker 1 (02:01:03):
Well, I've got three at the top of my queue,
so don't screw this up.
Speaker 6 (02:01:06):
Well, I ain't gonna take a rookie. I don't love it.
I do think he could have some kind of a roll,
and he's gonna be on my bench. I know the
guy next to me, he's not gonna take a running back.
I'll take my running back next, so I'm gonna take
(02:01:27):
Luther Burton, and then obviously I gotta get my guy,
Roshan Johnson. Can't leave a draft without roach on guy
with top ten and Fantasy points per opportunity. You get
him more opportunities. Especially with Ben Johnson, I can see
(02:01:49):
him putting up some points. They may all be touchdown
dependent short yards, but still I'm taking them all day.
Speaker 1 (02:01:57):
And by the way, look at how fast the guy's
at the end of the draft, we just move mm hmm.
There's no clock ticking away down at the bottom. We
know what we're doing watching. We've been watching the draft
board for ninety minutes, wait to pick.
Speaker 5 (02:02:14):
Yeah, Actually, the fact that I know what I'm doing,
did he actually just say he knows what he's doing.
Speaker 1 (02:02:22):
I'm part I'm part of a larger institution that what they're.
Speaker 5 (02:02:26):
Doing talking about the FCC cracking down.
Speaker 1 (02:02:29):
I'm like a janitor at Harvard. I'm just part of
the institution, right, or should I say, Derek, I'm more
of a groundskeeper at Vanderbilt about that, that's.
Speaker 5 (02:02:41):
That's still a reach, but I'll take it.
Speaker 1 (02:02:44):
And I'm not I don't do a lot of manual labor.
Speaker 6 (02:02:46):
You're right, are you a Vanderbilt fan?
Speaker 1 (02:02:50):
Derek's Vanderbilt.
Speaker 6 (02:02:52):
I watched these guys the Golden Boot podcast, and they
are all about Vanderbilt. It's all you pretty much talk about.
Speaker 5 (02:03:02):
Yeah, I'm more of a realist. You know, if we
if we're able to go to a bowl game, that's
an excellent year. If we can if we even sniff
a bowl game in early December or late November, that's
that's a good year.
Speaker 6 (02:03:19):
So crap, I'm on the cluck in seven different leagues.
Speaker 5 (02:03:28):
And here you are just having fun with us, and
here let us help you out. Jamie, tell us what?
Tell us what you're in your other league?
Speaker 6 (02:03:41):
Okay, I'm at the nine pick in this one. My
team Ashon, Jenny, Traveon Henderson, I got my leak neighbors, Kasen,
Rice and Flowers, and I am debating between Jane Reed,
Josh Downs, Jalen Warren. Now, since I only have two
(02:04:06):
running backs, I think I should probably go Warren PPR
U underdog half PPR half PPR. The guys behind me
only have four running back combined in three teams.
Speaker 1 (02:04:23):
Mhm.
Speaker 6 (02:04:25):
I'd go Warren.
Speaker 4 (02:04:25):
Honestly, I like it.
Speaker 5 (02:04:30):
Yeah, I like Jaden my man.
Speaker 6 (02:04:32):
Aaron Jones is there too? Who and Aaron Jones? Who
got him? So Aaron Jones are Warren.
Speaker 1 (02:04:46):
Met your running back? One or two?
Speaker 6 (02:04:48):
That's three as and Trey Von Henderson.
Speaker 5 (02:04:53):
I would go with the hair rookies.
Speaker 1 (02:04:55):
I'd probably go with Jones again out of the backfield
and he and he's not gonna get beat up right
fifty to fifty.
Speaker 6 (02:05:05):
He is one of the best pass catching running backs
for sure.
Speaker 1 (02:05:09):
And he brings his own sombrero to the party.
Speaker 5 (02:05:12):
Yeah, and the Vikings need receptions, you know, they They're
gonna need to find some extra receptions early.
Speaker 6 (02:05:19):
So yeah, no, I agree.
Speaker 4 (02:05:21):
I think too they get a better O line and
then you're they're pretty much starting a rookie, so they're
gonna have to rely on them a little bit more,
maybe with the running game at least early on. So
I think all the receivers are banged up to In Minnesota,
took Aaron Jones my.
Speaker 6 (02:05:39):
Next pick in the twelfth round. I already got Kyler Murray.
I'm thinking of push pushing JJ McCarthy. I don't like
the other options.
Speaker 3 (02:05:53):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 7 (02:05:59):
We're gonna with wall here.
Speaker 8 (02:06:04):
He's supposedly gonna take first team snaps. We'll trust that.
Speaker 1 (02:06:12):
In twenty twenty one. Or I mean, yeah, who's the
bettered athlete him? Or his wife? Is his wife Kelsey Plumb?
Or his girlfriend? Isn't that her?
Speaker 4 (02:06:28):
It was ex wife?
Speaker 1 (02:06:30):
Oh's ex wife? Nice? Let's work on that, Jefferson. Let's
get those.
Speaker 9 (02:06:36):
By the way, if you if you need a laugh,
Jeff and you know where you live, go google any of.
Speaker 1 (02:06:44):
The any of the interviews that Charles Barkley gives about
the women of San Antonio. Have you seen those?
Speaker 4 (02:06:50):
Oh yeah, that was talk in the town.
Speaker 1 (02:06:53):
It's just, oh, Ben, what are you doing?
Speaker 6 (02:06:57):
Ben?
Speaker 1 (02:06:57):
May not have three receivers that are playing Week one,
Addison Godwin in, Quentin Johnston soon y.
Speaker 6 (02:07:07):
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Quinton Johnson. He's
got bricks for hands. And then they drafted one of
the best contested catch.
Speaker 1 (02:07:15):
Tray Harris, who just went Didn't Trey Harris just go
auto at the end? I think he did?
Speaker 4 (02:07:21):
Yeah, And they brought in Keenan Allen. So yeah, that's.
Speaker 1 (02:07:28):
Johnson. He made improvement. But that's a that's a stretch.
Speaker 6 (02:07:34):
So I am gonna need some help with you guys.
I need your expertise. So I got back to back picks.
I am going to take Brandon Ayu because he would
be my fifth wide receiver over who well, I have
Jamar Chase, Terry McLaurin, Stefan Diggs, Luthor Burton. The only
(02:07:55):
other guys would be Joshua Palmer, Trey Harris, Kyle William Douglas.
So I think I think I have the option to
keep for the first six weeks Yuke on my bench.
I mean it's best ball. So as a number five receiver,
(02:08:17):
I don't hate it, and I'm gonna get till the
next next round.
Speaker 1 (02:08:21):
I thought, I like the other names that you're read
off before.
Speaker 4 (02:08:24):
I like that.
Speaker 6 (02:08:26):
Which one do you like the best?
Speaker 1 (02:08:29):
Well? If you look, isn't I you still on our
board here? Mm hmm.
Speaker 6 (02:08:33):
Well this is different because this is guillotine. Guillotine you
want to push those guys down, That's true. This is
best ball where I'm not going to be able to
do waivers.
Speaker 1 (02:08:45):
Yeah, I think. I think Kyle Williams starts on day one.
I think who else did you there?
Speaker 6 (02:08:53):
I got Trey Harris, Hollywood Brown, Douglas.
Speaker 1 (02:08:59):
I can't figure out for the life of me if
Hollywood Brown is going to play football ever again.
Speaker 6 (02:09:06):
He'll play like two three games.
Speaker 1 (02:09:08):
Yeah, He's always questioned, and every time he comes up
with my kid, I'm like, well, I guess.
Speaker 4 (02:09:14):
Right, well, that's gonna be my that's gonna be my picks.
I appreciate it, guys. In case she's just to play
week one, what's set?
Speaker 1 (02:09:24):
We can go ahead and end the Hollywood Brown discussion.
And it happened right after Homer Grindel goes to Scott.
Are you watching this guys at the bottom. You're watching
the guys at the top sweating every pick when we're
just rolling through, ripping through our picks.
Speaker 3 (02:09:46):
I just started another draft.
Speaker 1 (02:09:49):
You're bored, aren't you, Dave?
Speaker 6 (02:09:55):
Yeah, I got the suret. It's a guy's sitting on
a clock with a tube coming up, sucking on it
and says, don't be a clocksucker.
Speaker 1 (02:10:11):
Ninety four catches ninety four yards.
Speaker 5 (02:10:16):
Hey, I'll take those fifteen points everything.
Speaker 1 (02:10:19):
There's you, there's your litmus test open Chig too, that's Derek.
Speaker 3 (02:10:29):
I don't hate chick.
Speaker 8 (02:10:30):
There.
Speaker 3 (02:10:30):
That's a pick.
Speaker 1 (02:10:33):
Why was I surprised?
Speaker 5 (02:10:36):
Yeah, you shouldn't be surprised.
Speaker 1 (02:10:37):
No, absolutely not.
Speaker 5 (02:10:40):
I actually have another tight end in my cube I like,
but he was that was the right pick.
Speaker 1 (02:10:51):
I have a tight end I really really really want
to like, and he just I don't think he's that guy.
And I already won the league by going zach Ertz
and Brenton Strange back to back. So everybody else is
(02:11:11):
playing for second place.
Speaker 4 (02:11:15):
If you ain't first or last, ye holler, if you
hear me, Jeff, you're gonna like this pick right here.
Speaker 5 (02:11:25):
That was the guy I was talking about.
Speaker 6 (02:11:27):
There you go here it is. I love Pep Bryant.
Is that who you got?
Speaker 1 (02:11:35):
No, oh.
Speaker 5 (02:11:40):
Eighty nine targets last year? Yeah, there's a place for
that in the twelfth round here well.
Speaker 1 (02:11:45):
Especially with all the goddra Yeah. And in fact for
Sean White two weeks ago got smashed up pretty good too.
So where Auten wasn't in the conversation, I think he's
fully in the conversation.
Speaker 4 (02:11:59):
Yeah, yeah, because isn't McMillan done for the year or
is he.
Speaker 6 (02:12:06):
Just on the I R.
Speaker 1 (02:12:07):
They have not placed him on I R yet, but
it's a mech injury.
Speaker 4 (02:12:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:12:16):
Oh man, I don't even want to watch.
Speaker 4 (02:12:17):
It's like a.
Speaker 1 (02:12:20):
Car wreck at this point, right, You've got to slow
down and see what's happening.
Speaker 4 (02:12:25):
Well, because you said that it can Romeo Dobbs enough
for his helmet.
Speaker 1 (02:12:33):
And we're just we're gonna slow down and yeo, you
can't work there.
Speaker 4 (02:12:37):
I got the studio's h lyrics.
Speaker 1 (02:12:40):
Those are great.
Speaker 4 (02:12:42):
What an asshole?
Speaker 1 (02:12:43):
So is it taken that I thought? I don't know
if I even have the gut. I'm an asshole. I
don't know if I have those guns. That's a riot
you can't work there, And then some of them answer
back like, I know, I can't work. I got an accident.
Yeah I know, but you can't part wrapped around there.
Speaker 6 (02:13:06):
It is.
Speaker 1 (02:13:07):
Well, he wasn't going to get past me. I promise
you that. Oh that must let that wash over you, Drew.
Speaker 5 (02:13:13):
Let it just wash over him in his profile picture
up there, so it fits.
Speaker 1 (02:13:24):
Oh he sure does.
Speaker 12 (02:13:25):
Wow, he looks different without pads. In fact, in fact,
he looks he looks a lot like me without pads.
Speaker 5 (02:13:44):
We don't need to see that, nobody.
Speaker 1 (02:13:49):
What was the worst that ever? We'd never went shirtless.
The worst I got is when I was really until
one morning last year and I brought that bottle of
Woodford Reserve out and drank right out of the neck
of the bottom of that. I'm like, what am I doing?
It's nine o'clock in the morning on the East coast.
And what did Sky say? Well, not, we're not sponsored,
(02:14:10):
but I guess what's gonna do this?
Speaker 6 (02:14:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (02:14:14):
Oh, mother, I thought that's where you were going, Derek.
Speaker 3 (02:14:19):
That was my pick right there.
Speaker 1 (02:14:20):
Those two receivers were my cute.
Speaker 5 (02:14:22):
Yeah, I like that one.
Speaker 6 (02:14:23):
I like that, And there's still a receiver that no
one's looking at h.
Speaker 1 (02:14:29):
Wait ces empty.
Speaker 4 (02:14:35):
Lot a good sign.
Speaker 1 (02:14:39):
A wide receiver on the list.
Speaker 6 (02:14:42):
Yeah, it was the first round draft pick.
Speaker 5 (02:14:49):
Yeah, there's a couple of names down there that.
Speaker 6 (02:14:51):
We uh I think we talked about as a teammate earlier.
Josh Palmer.
Speaker 1 (02:14:59):
Mm hmm mm hmmm. Josh Palmer plays for Buffalo. There's
no Buffalo receivers left.
Speaker 6 (02:15:05):
Yeah, there's the first round draft pick.
Speaker 1 (02:15:07):
For I heard of Samuel.
Speaker 6 (02:15:14):
Dude just said to Elijah Moore man which also right
above them, is Booty. Elijah Moore is Booty.
Speaker 7 (02:15:28):
I'm hoping for Booty to not catch very many balls
this year.
Speaker 1 (02:15:32):
I'm hoping for any Booty I can get.
Speaker 6 (02:15:37):
But I love Naylor Booty. Naylor and Booty. There there
you go and get more. So Naylor Booty Moore.
Speaker 7 (02:15:47):
It's a pretty good name. Keep that one in mind.
Speaker 6 (02:15:50):
Actually, I actually named my team that because the last
three picks. That's why I picked, and it was in
battle of sexist. And then I got a message from
the commissioner saying, we've gotten complaints about your name from females,
so we're asking you if you could change your name.
(02:16:15):
I paid my league fee, so this is who I
was talking about. Another guy being ignored is Diami Brown.
I think he could be the second target.
Speaker 1 (02:16:25):
Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 5 (02:16:27):
Yeah, Yeah, that's the name I was zeroing in on
when you said that.
Speaker 1 (02:16:32):
Coin flip for me, and I'll go with if I
have to play Naylor in week one, which I shouldn't
first three weeks with Addison out.
Speaker 6 (02:16:41):
Yeah, I mean just considering he's gonna be a bench player.
Who knows how much Travis Hunter is gonna play on offense.
So my last pick, no, this is my second last pick. Well,
I'm gonna take the highest upside guy. I have this
guy as my dynasty wide receiver one in this draft class,
and that's Jackson Dart. If this dude gets a start,
(02:17:03):
he is going to explode. Even if they put him
in like they use to use Lamar Jackson his rookie
year and design runs here and there, he still could
be somewhat fancy valuable.
Speaker 3 (02:17:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:17:25):
I think he's gonna be a good quarterback. Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 6 (02:17:28):
Like I've been saying it all off season, I like
Jackson Dart over cam Ward in this rookie class.
Speaker 1 (02:17:37):
Yeah, if you recognize that tight end from your school
in Texas.
Speaker 4 (02:17:41):
Unfortunately, you never know.
Speaker 6 (02:17:46):
Yeah, I love.
Speaker 1 (02:17:50):
Guy's a monster. He's got all the skills. And there's
rumor floating that Thieln is being shopped, which means that
Jalen Coke her pick I've been to ago was a
really good pick by I don't know who made it.
I have to scroll through.
Speaker 7 (02:18:05):
Hm.
Speaker 1 (02:18:08):
Leaguette has not proved himself. So yeah, Solar Cactus with Coper,
I think it's probably a much better pick than it
was a couple of days ago. But I still don't
think theeling gets moved.
Speaker 6 (02:18:19):
Who's the other guy that was getting buzzed in that offense?
Speaker 1 (02:18:23):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (02:18:25):
Jimmy Horn?
Speaker 1 (02:18:27):
Uh no, Jase, Jimmy. Jimmy Horn was from played to Colorado.
Speaker 6 (02:18:31):
But well, yeah, the Panthers now is it?
Speaker 7 (02:18:35):
Is it Horton with Seattle?
Speaker 1 (02:18:39):
But the the defensive is it j C. Horn? Does
he play for the Panthers or somebody else?
Speaker 6 (02:18:47):
Jimmy Horn the receiver.
Speaker 1 (02:18:50):
That somebody that plays defense, defensive back for the Panthers.
And they said right now the hardest cover in camp
is under Renfro, which is crazy to me because he
basically was done with football two years ago. They said
they cannot cover him in.
Speaker 6 (02:19:06):
Practice you're talking about the cornerback from Anthers J. C. Horn.
Speaker 1 (02:19:15):
Yeah, yeah, he said, and I think he's an all
pro and he said, he said, they cannot cover Hunter
renfro in the.
Speaker 6 (02:19:23):
In right now in practice is a slock guy. So yeah,
if he just puts right right into that position, could
be a sneaky play.
Speaker 1 (02:19:33):
Yeah, And I think Cocher, I don't know if Coker
is an outside guy. I thought he was a Yeah.
If you want to swing a swing a a blind
bat right now, Hunter renfro In the fourteenth probably is
not terrible. My my fourteenth was going to be Tyler Schuck.
(02:19:56):
That was the last guy in my queue. So I
feel great that somebody saved me from that.
Speaker 8 (02:20:05):
That was actually, uh, that was actually Zach's daughter's pick,
So she saved you from that. He texted me that
my daughter, Braven's gonna make this next pick, and Shuck
came up.
Speaker 1 (02:20:21):
Sure it wasn't the Taysom Hill pick.
Speaker 8 (02:20:24):
No, that could No, that's just the Zach has a
sweet spot in his heart for Taysom Hill.
Speaker 7 (02:20:30):
That's just him.
Speaker 1 (02:20:34):
Derek didn't Taysom Hill win us a couple of games
a couple of years ago. Just went insane.
Speaker 6 (02:20:41):
You just never know when to play him.
Speaker 5 (02:20:43):
Yeah, that's the thing.
Speaker 1 (02:20:44):
He's a best ball m VP.
Speaker 7 (02:20:48):
I wanted that Raheem Moster just just as a as
a handcuff. That'd be a good handcuff. I think so.
Speaker 8 (02:20:56):
I do not actually have Genty, But let me rephrase that.
If Genty got hurt, Morris is the guy, right, I
think her Moster.
Speaker 1 (02:21:07):
Uh sniped in the thirteenth round.
Speaker 6 (02:21:09):
Yeah, sure did, Sure did.
Speaker 7 (02:21:15):
And I'm thinking.
Speaker 1 (02:21:18):
A guy with some.
Speaker 7 (02:21:22):
Yeah, some possible targets might be Calvin Austin. We'll see.
Speaker 1 (02:21:28):
Yep. If you believe in Rogers and Rogers' mom, then
you believe.
Speaker 6 (02:21:34):
In I do.
Speaker 7 (02:21:35):
I always believe as a mother. Believe.
Speaker 6 (02:21:40):
Well, if you believe in a mother, you need Harold
Fannon Junior. Because that dude's mom is sexy. I met
her at the Fancy Football Expo, hung out with her
all night.
Speaker 3 (02:21:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:21:51):
She she's a real one. She's showed me pictures of
her and her son back in the day playing football,
and his uncle was even hanging out with.
Speaker 5 (02:22:00):
Us, Jamie Willing pictures. Yeah, it didn't happen unless we
have pictures on Facebook.
Speaker 6 (02:22:11):
I put them on my Facebook, man, I even got uh.
I got the whole because I went up to uh,
the guy that runs Bob Lung. Bob Lung runs the
fantasy football Expo, and I went up to bob Lung.
I'm like, guess who's here man, And he's like, oh,
I'm like Harld Fannin's family, like the whole family, their uncles,
(02:22:31):
their aunts, their mom, their nephew's nieces. And he was like,
bring them up to the stage. So I brought him
up to the stage and Bob Lung introduced them to
the whole fantasy football expo that night. It was awesome.
I got a video of it.
Speaker 5 (02:22:48):
Nice.
Speaker 6 (02:22:55):
It's funny. The reason I met him is like I
went to the side to go smoke a cigarette and
his random dude came up with a cigar and was like, oh,
we can smoke here. I'm like yeah. So talking to
him and he was like, what is all this? Why
are all these people here? We just came to watch
the game. I'm like yeah, I explained to him about
the fancy football Expo. He's like, yeah, we're just trying
to watch my nephew playing the game. I'm like, who's
(02:23:18):
your nephew? And he's that Harold Fan and Junior. I'm like,
no way. So I showed him. I right up. I
did on him and he was like, you have to
show this to his mom, And I'm like, his mom's here, crap.
So we all hung out for like a long time.
It was awesome.
Speaker 5 (02:23:35):
Nice Jamie.
Speaker 1 (02:23:36):
Let me ask you this from a group that has
not participated in the expo, what do you think reasonably
per person it cost flights, hotel, food, booze, fun, live.
Speaker 6 (02:23:50):
I live like an hour away from it, Okay, I
don't know about the flights.
Speaker 5 (02:23:54):
So we're staying at your house next year.
Speaker 6 (02:23:58):
More than welcome to yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:24:00):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (02:24:01):
And then the hotel that we got was completely discounted
because the guy that came up from Georgia that picked
me up discount because he works for the military and
he does like all this traveling. So we stayed at
this glen Moore country club about five minutes away from
(02:24:21):
the expo. It's a golf course, big mansion. The course
was designed by Jack Nicholson, not not the guy that
was in the Shining, the guy that's a golfer, Nicholas Nicholas. Yes,
it was designed by Jack Nicholas. And we stayed there
(02:24:44):
and he didn't even charge me. He was like, you
cou to stay there for free. But honestly, if you're
gonna do Oo's hundred bucks woos and food today as
your hotel, I.
Speaker 1 (02:25:03):
Guess we'd have to get great and give us a
booth and a sign.
Speaker 6 (02:25:05):
And that's what you want. Because I walked around that
whole expow on Sunday and I only recognize like two
names the fantasy football guys. Uh, there's a few other
ones obviously Fast Draft. No one else was that popular
(02:25:27):
that I wanted to actually stop and talk to him. Now,
if you put rats ball there, people are gonna come
up to the raa booth and they're gonna want to
talk to you guys. They're gonna want to subscribe. And
I was not impressed with the Sunday.
Speaker 1 (02:25:46):
Well what Sunday?
Speaker 6 (02:25:49):
And I will such Sunday's the expo day.
Speaker 1 (02:25:55):
Yeah, And I don't know, like we're curious. We don't
at our level, right, Sky gets prop more info than
we do, but we don't get a lot of info
as to what the traffic's like on the site. Do
people like what we present?
Speaker 6 (02:26:06):
You know?
Speaker 1 (02:26:07):
We we struggled to get a lot of people reading
the articles start this year. We started grass Ball a
little bit late, so there wasn't a lot of press
and pub and we didn't get t shirts out, you know,
a whole bunch of that. So we're we're always thinking,
you know, do people even know what rasp ball is?
On the football side, they.
Speaker 6 (02:26:25):
Rasp ball is awesome. I wouldn't be watching you guys
every week if you guys weren't awesome. I only watched
I watched hundreds of videos a week, and you're one
of my favorites. So people need to know who you are.
Speaker 1 (02:26:40):
Yeah, I know they're they're much bigger or we're much bigger.
On the baseball side, Derek and I started writing baseball.
Derek still writes dabbles in baseball on that side. But yeah,
we always feel like, you know, when we get on toods,
I'm like, okay, there's three people and then they disappear
and then we you know, Jamie pops in. We don't.
It just doesn't seem like we get a ton of traffic.
(02:27:00):
And it's good to hear that.
Speaker 5 (02:27:02):
Well, there's a lot of competition out there though, Yeah for.
Speaker 4 (02:27:04):
Sure, Yeah, yeah, it's a lot.
Speaker 6 (02:27:07):
You guys are one of the better podcast I gotta
I gotta give you honest feedback out of all the
ones that I watch. I like watching you guys and
you guys interact with the chat. You guys give solid advice,
and you guys do stuff like this with the Gating League.
(02:27:27):
People love that. People love interacting.
Speaker 1 (02:27:30):
And I think I don't think we take each other
or ourselves too serious, right We just there's there's not
a lot of attitude. There's not a lot of arrogance
from us. We are just We're just normal dudes that
want to have fun. We don't get paid to do it.
So I think that it comes from a place of
(02:27:52):
excitement and fandom for us for sure. And Derek and
I kind of branched out and came over here, started
on baseball. I met Jeff through he was common in
my articles, and we brought we found a way to
bring Jeff in uh And frankly, Dave was Dave. Dave
(02:28:12):
was somebody that messed with our stuff, but he had,
you know, he had a very good follower base. And
I met him through a Battle of the Sexes and
and Scott Fishbowl and other leagues and divisions like that.
So it's just we're trying to build the brand. And
and really it's my fault this year for ras Bull
getting started so late. Dave Dave is really he's really
(02:28:35):
put a bow on that thing, and it's it's his
communication is so much better than than mine was. It's fantastic.
And Mark ruined my draft again.
Speaker 8 (02:28:45):
So the smallest stack, the smallest stack, you can never get.
I like, I like how Sky has the quad stack there.
Speaker 7 (02:28:55):
Got to call that out.
Speaker 1 (02:28:57):
He take Michael Wilson, yoshih Us.
Speaker 6 (02:29:03):
Yeah, he's one of my targets late late in drafts.
Speaker 7 (02:29:09):
If you if if you're.
Speaker 8 (02:29:13):
Yeah, if anybody's getting the ball, that's not Jamar Chase,
guy's getting points.
Speaker 6 (02:29:22):
All right? Where is my guy at? Someone who drafted
Rochon Johnson. I'm trying to draft him here. But no,
that's awesome that you guys do baseball and everything. I
work for a Fantasy six pack and they do golf,
(02:29:43):
they do baseball, they do football. Uh So, if you
guys want to connect with Fancy six pack, Joe, Joe
Bond loves having people come on.
Speaker 2 (02:29:54):
Joe Bond is a great guy. He reached out to
me before ras Bull and you know, talked that I
but he's a good guy.
Speaker 3 (02:30:01):
I like Joe.
Speaker 1 (02:30:05):
Yeah, and we you know, we do this. I don't
know if you tune in. We do the Sunday start
shit show, and I think you're probably already on your own.
Are you doing something on Saturday?
Speaker 6 (02:30:17):
I do a starts to show for Going for Two
with Jeff Lambert. Yeah, six Pack does its own starts
the show. But I mean I try to tune in
all of them when I can, and as soon as
I go live, that's when I cut off.
Speaker 1 (02:30:35):
Yeah, that's my most to me, that's the most fun.
Speaker 6 (02:30:38):
Right.
Speaker 1 (02:30:38):
The writing is interesting and the research is fun. A
lot of us have kind of an OCD mind for
research and whatnot. But that's that Sunday Starts It show
is a blast for us. All right, Drew? Are you ready?
Speaker 3 (02:30:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (02:30:51):
What you got?
Speaker 6 (02:30:52):
I always believe if I start earlier, right, you gotta
start at like two hours before games.
Speaker 5 (02:30:59):
Yeah, we start at eleven now. We were starting at
ten for a while last year, but we started eleven
this year.
Speaker 1 (02:31:05):
All right, Drew. I want to see you revel in it.
Speaker 6 (02:31:07):
Yes, Yeah. And I don't like any of these players
on the board, except there is one guy that I
freaking really love.
Speaker 1 (02:31:23):
And so Drew if I can make it through the
first six weeks and our guy comes back and he's
ready to roll. Oh, Christian Watson taking Harold Fanning.
Speaker 6 (02:31:43):
Friendly and then in the chat, I am going to
post a picture of me and his mom.
Speaker 1 (02:31:50):
Nice.
Speaker 3 (02:31:54):
Hm, we'll take it.
Speaker 1 (02:31:57):
So we had somebody chime in with a question too.
Speaker 3 (02:32:01):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (02:32:06):
And I think Carter Bree is a is a fine
running back to depends on your settings, but I think
he's running. I think he's a fine running back to
middle to late round three or early round four, if
that's where you're looking.
Speaker 7 (02:32:23):
Like.
Speaker 6 (02:32:23):
If I'm at the end of the end of the round,
I'll grab Brise Hall in the fourth Yep. Same.
Speaker 1 (02:32:30):
I'd rather have stud receivers than Brisall. But there's there's
nothing wrong with Brisol as far as I can tell.
Speaker 5 (02:32:38):
I'm looking for him on our draft. I can't find him.
Speaker 1 (02:32:42):
Brisaul. Yeah he's there, he's in blue. Excuse me green.
Speaker 5 (02:32:48):
Yeah, That's what I'm looking.
Speaker 1 (02:32:49):
For, right there, Jets Fan. Fourth round, fourth.
Speaker 5 (02:32:57):
Round of a yeah there, yeah, guess.
Speaker 1 (02:33:05):
Fourth round of a guillotine.
Speaker 5 (02:33:10):
That curly already made a move making moves. Damn he
wants that New Orleans stack.
Speaker 3 (02:33:22):
I guess.
Speaker 5 (02:33:26):
All right, guys, and this has been a lot of fun.
Appreciate I appreciate you coming on, Jamie. Same for Drew.
Looked like Drew dropped off. The same for Drew. Yeah,
nice draft. We're doing this two three more times this week.
Speaker 3 (02:33:50):
First of a series. Collect them all.
Speaker 1 (02:33:53):
What's tomorrow?
Speaker 5 (02:33:54):
Tomorrow's the first redraft.
Speaker 3 (02:33:58):
The first friends and family. Let me read draft lead.
Speaker 1 (02:34:01):
Yeah, and that's that's the one. All six of us
are in again, right, that's right. And then Tuesday, Derek,
you and me and are doing the redraft number two
pp R, and then the other three gents are.
Speaker 13 (02:34:16):
Doing one on later in the week, I believe Friday, Friday, Friday, alright,
all right, good luck on everyone, Good luck.
Speaker 1 (02:34:28):
Any Thanks for chamming in, love to see you.
Speaker 6 (02:34:32):
Appreciate you guys, all right, Yeah, time online
