Speaker 1 (00:02):
All right, ladies and gentlemen football fans everywhere, welcome to
night three in a row of rasball listeners fantasy football drafts.
On Sunday, we did a Guillotine League, our first ever.
Last night, we did our first PPR. Tonight's PPR number
two Friday, Derek, Jeff and myself get a night off
and the other gentlemen will be taking on PPR League

(00:25):
three without further ado. Derek hit our music. All right,
raise your hand if you've got enough sleep last night.
That's what I thought. Neither did I. But I'm not

(00:48):
feeling it now. I felt it this morning. I felt
it on my hour commute. I have been asked to
return to office. Pardon me, I have been directed to
return to office. It's not pleasant. If Derek is is
not busy, I can get him on the horn and
we can talk football. But this morning I needed it
and I didn't even feel the commute because we talked

(01:09):
our home league strategy. So Jeff, tell me what you've
taken away from the first two nights to the Guillotine
League on Sunday and PPR yesterday. What did what did you?
What are your takeaways from the two.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Nights just running back isn't as deep as I thought.
They They go quickly and if you miss the run,
you're kind of screwed. So don't reach. But be mindful
of the running backs and the kind of the waves
and when they're going, because if you're on the back

(01:43):
end of it, your RB two is really an RB three,
then it just goes down the line and you're passing
on better players because you're trying to fill a position.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
So, at least for me, that's been one of the
biggest takeaways.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
And tonight you're in the one two spot. Last night
you were the one to one and Guillotine you were
near the top as well. Is that right?

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Yeah? I think it was four.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Yeah, So I'm I'm at the bottom tonight, and I
believe that that's just it's spot on your You're right
if you if you feel like you have to reach,
you probably have to reach. But don't reach. My habit, right,
don't And what do we always say, right, get your
guy again, you're at you're at the top end. I'm

(02:23):
at the bottom end. Tonight will be me getting my
guys and seeing how it works out. Derek, our big
brain on the show, what do you think about the
first two nights. What feedback do you have other than
I probably am going to be banned from any live
activities on the site for.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
A while after this week. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know
my biggest takeaway, it's a lot of fun sniping your friends.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:51):
Friends Again, we did quotes when we said experts.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
I would say most guys are gonna say friends with
you refer to you tonight.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
But he's still licking his wounds. I don't having to
take a player two rounds early because he knew I
was lurking right before him.

Speaker 5 (03:05):
And you notice what he didn't do.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
He didn't then brag about the pick, which was a
good pick, but it was so early that there's no
bragging to be done. It was just him. It was
a sigh of relief that he allowed you to not
be able to draft that player.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
Yeah, so strategy one, Yes, we'll call that winning.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Yeah. Love to see Jamie checking in. Jamie, here we
are for night three. Also Epic Fail, And I will
be honest, Jamie was in the Gatine League. Is that right?
I think he was?

Speaker 6 (03:37):
He was?

Speaker 7 (03:38):
Yes, Yeah, but how did epic We need to figure
out how do we contact Epic fail in the off season,
so that he or she we don't even know what
epic fail is other than a Lions fan.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
We need to get epic fail in one of these
leagues next year. So make sure you keep in touch
and stick around and we will get you one of
these leagues next year. And thanks again for checking in
with us. All right, so we're gonna treat tonight a
little bit different. It is standard. I guess standard is
now PPR. So this is a this is a one

(04:14):
point PPR. This is not tight end premium, this is
not super flex. This is one quarterback, this is two
running backs. This is three receivers and a tight end
two flex. There is no kicker, there is no defense
because both are dumb unless you have Brandon Aubrey or
the eighty five Chicago Bears defense. So with that, the

(04:37):
look at did you see it? It's already there. I'm
already untiling.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
That's all.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
You want to push the button and bring that comment
out because I'm not gonna do it. So for those
of you that did not tune in yesterday, I was
on tilt at at two point eight and when I
took a chan and then I realized that my first
three running backs all had the same bye week, and
it was at that point that I blacked out. So
it was as if I had had about forty seven beers,

(05:04):
and I don't remember much that happened after that. I
would I would say, if you can have Fantasy Football
Draft PTSD, I certainly have that right now. So but
I'm drafting the twelve spot. I'm looking to break some
hearts tonight. All right, Derek, I'm gonna let you pick
folks to drag in. We're going to get a couple
of introductions out of the way, and then we're going
to start off with our one zero one. We'll introduce

(05:27):
him right before we kicked the draft.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
Yeah, that does is great because we've got five other
participants in there, so eight of the twelve of us
are on the live show right now at the beginning,
So this is awesome. So we'll start first with water Boy.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
And those five are not love the headgear. They are
not rasball writers, they are not employed.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
They are regular here for the punishment.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Yes, they're here to finish fourth, fifth, all the way
through twelfth, and I'm here for it. Water Boy, I
love that you put your your handle in there. Tell
us how you arrived here and what you're going to
do tonight.

Speaker 8 (06:07):
So I'm going to dominate nice. So no, I've been
with rasball. I want to say, like the.

Speaker 9 (06:14):
Past eight years, originally with baseball, that it transformed to
football and then I've been I've been loving raspball ever since.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Baseball and football.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
And and I.

Speaker 8 (06:29):
Commented on one of the posts I think the other
day with Matt and rest is history.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Yeah. And one of the things that that draws me
to water boys questions that he poses he doesn't necessarily
care what the article is about. And I'm going to
get his entire which is awesome. And we followed. I
followed his seat last year, right pillar to post, and
you ran the table if I remember correctly, Yes, sir, yes, sir.

Speaker 5 (06:59):
Absolute fantastic lineup.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
So where's where's our check for that? By the way,
I haven't seen that Christmas bonus? Yeah, I haven't seen
that in the mail? Yes yet?

Speaker 5 (07:10):
Yeah, yes, yes, all right, justin we will see you
in a little bit.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
You're drafting right in front of me at one eleven, correct, yes, eleven, yep?
All right, Derek?

Speaker 5 (07:19):
Who else we got?

Speaker 4 (07:21):
All right, let's bring on mac.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Oh, let's get it. Let's start with a haircut.

Speaker 10 (07:26):
Yeah, uh yeah, No. Came about all this through the
Blue Sky Mutuals with the at rasball account. There you
can find me at wifeguy dot org. Some of the
pre meeting chat about spouses and partners and wives putting

(07:47):
up with all this felt very real to me, along
with the back to office stuff, which is, you know,
if I make it an hour, I'll be very happy
before I'm ready to crash out. But yeah, I'm at
the the sixth spot to come park terriers. I'm outside
of DC in lovely Maryland, and yeah, looking forward to

(08:08):
playing in the league. I don't run myself, awesome, Mac.

Speaker 5 (08:11):
Is that a concert poster over your left shoulder?

Speaker 10 (08:15):
No, but I got one I need to put up
at some point.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
This is.

Speaker 10 (08:22):
It feels very true to me. I wish I was
at home reading.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
Yeah, that's a that's another dig at the people that
are no longer working from home, because that's exactly where
I would prefer to be too, even if it's just
emails and I ams, I'd prefer to be at home. Alas,
I guess I'm too important for the contract I work under,
and they've they've just gotten to have me in person.
So hopefully nobody I work for or with is tuned in,

(08:50):
but I'll find out tomorrow morning early if that's the case.
All right, Matt, good to have you loved the flow, Jeff,
I'm not sure we've had let us like this in
any of the previous two drafts. This is this is
a good start, very impressive. Well and you know what
I would say, this is borderline better than Sky. Yeah,

(09:11):
and he's not here to defend himself, so.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
All right, excellent, So well, thanks for joining us. Uh
and we'll we'll get this and kicked off in just
a minute. All right, next up loafing it.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
Yeah, welcome in west.

Speaker 11 (09:27):
How are you doing good? How about you?

Speaker 1 (09:29):
Matt?

Speaker 12 (09:31):
Good to finally meet you or see you face to
face interacted on Twitter forever. Uh.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
Yeah, it's not it's not pretty, but here it is anyway.

Speaker 11 (09:38):
Well, very pretty, very pretty.

Speaker 12 (09:41):
I got interested in rasball a long time ago. I
don't even know when, but it was whenever I first
started getting involved with fantasy uh football or sports just
in general. And I just really loved how rasball kind
of was eclectic and and it and it made references
back to whenever I was younger, you know, and it
just it made me giggle take it as serious as

(10:01):
some of the other sites took it, and so I
just really have always appreciated Rasball and I started creating
content like in twenty twenty with so many other people
at that time, and I've had mutual friends that we've
had together on JB.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Berry.

Speaker 12 (10:13):
He was one of my hosts and so was John Fursella.
Just different things there. But a lot of things have
just fallen by the wayside because life just gets busy.
But Pierre and I still do a DFS podcast now,
so it's always fun to do.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Yeah, we will, you know, we do a Sunday start
sit show. A lot of folks that are in Rasball
don't even know that we do that. A couple of
years ago we started three hours before kickoff and I
don't know if we're going to go back to that,
but for sure we'll be on two hours before kickoff.
We take it all the way up to basically right.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
After the coin flip the minute.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
So if you check in there, we'll get you on
the screen and get your thoughts and we that's where
we get tons and tons of comments, you know, people
coming off their their Friday and Saturday night venders and
all the fun that they have and they come in
with their coffee to try to survive through. They forgot
about their lineups and they've got fifteen minutes to decide
who they're gonna start. So there we are on every

(11:07):
Sunday morning, anywhere from probably three to six of us
will be there. We have one one of our writers
is in Australia. He tries to make it, but that's
it's difficult time change or time difference for him, so
we may not see band on the Sunday start sit show.

Speaker 11 (11:24):
Easy.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
Now.

Speaker 12 (11:25):
One of the things I've always liked about Rasball, you
guys have reached out to the community and brought people
in and gay people, you know, their first starts, maybe
even in creating content and stuff, and that's just been great.

Speaker 11 (11:36):
You guys have been fantastic. It's a pleasure to be
on here with y'all.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
All right, good to have you, Wes.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
Yeah, and Wes is at the one nine, so you'll,
uh yeah. So I'm counting on you Wes to to
snipe Matt here a couple of picks before him. So okay,
no pressure, all right, next up, that's Chraz so he

(12:04):
was on video.

Speaker 13 (12:05):
There he is, there is there.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
We can see you now.

Speaker 13 (12:08):
How you guys doing awesome?

Speaker 4 (12:10):
Thanks for joining us.

Speaker 13 (12:12):
Oh, thanks for having me. Appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (12:14):
So you have the one seven pick.

Speaker 13 (12:16):
Right in the middle, exactly where I hate to draft,
right in the middle.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
Yep, I have a home league that drew today and
I have one seven. I feel the exact same way.
I want nothing to do with seven, eight, nine, ten
this year.

Speaker 13 (12:29):
Yeah, I hope for the top three or the bottom three.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
So I'm with you.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
Yeah, same here.

Speaker 13 (12:35):
Yeah, I got it with raz Slam.

Speaker 14 (12:38):
Actually the first time I listened to a podcast with
Rudy and Gray and I.

Speaker 13 (12:43):
Couldn't figure it out.

Speaker 14 (12:44):
It took me a while to figure out the podcast.
You know that they weren't taking themselves totally serious. So
I've been on that a few years. Then I got
invited to ras Bull and then I saw your invite,
so I jumped at it. I do appreciate you having
me actually call me, I asked. My first name is Steve,
so out in the Scranton area.

Speaker 4 (13:05):
Awesome. Well, thanks for joining us, Steve, appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
I don't know if we want to use government names.
Do we I mean, are you hiding from your good
you can be out there in public here you all right.

Speaker 13 (13:14):
I'm in with pro so all right, Well, good to me.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
Good to see again, Joe Steve. So, all right, one
more and then we'll kick this off. Mark Ringo, thanks
for joining us.

Speaker 15 (13:30):
Mark, it's great to be here.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Look at you. You you figured it out. You said
you'd never done this before.

Speaker 16 (13:37):
So first, yeah, this is my first time, so we'll
see how it goes. But yeah, I'm a I'm a
I learned about rasball online because I'm a fellow fantasy
analyst like you guys are, and uh, we all have
the love for for playing and also writing about it. Yeah,
so I write on my own website and then I

(13:58):
also contribute on Fantasy Pros once.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
In a while.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
Nice. Nice, Yeah, you know. The one thing about the
fantasy industry that I've learned and I'm sure everyone here
who's done it can attest to. I mean, it's such
a great community. You know, we help each other out,
you know, you know, getting together and things like this
and just sharing, you know, sharing our thoughts on things.
You know, you coming onto our podcast, you know, we

(14:23):
we go visit others. I mean, it's just a fantastic
group of people, you know in general. So it's awesome,
awesome to have you here and and and you know
you have the first pick. So if you're ready, if
you're ready.

Speaker 16 (14:38):
We'll myself in uh, just my own league. Now I
get embarrassed myself in front of the entire cyberspace world.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
You're not trust me, You're gonna be way in the
back of embarrassment line. I am, I am the conductor,
I am the I'm shoveling all the cold. I'm doing
all of it. If you if you want to, if
you want a good laugh, go back and watch last night.
It was I'm embarrassed to say I was probably again
people I don't know, I don't know what happened.

Speaker 4 (15:06):
And Jeff and I enjoyed it immensely. So sure, this
all good stuff.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
And this is one reminder before we get started, everybody,
if you would go out to your sleeper app and
hit the mute button. Otherwise it's gonna scream every time
somebody drafts, and so we don't. If we can avoid that,
that would be idea. It's in the upper right hand corner,
next to the right of the bell between the Bell
and the Moon.

Speaker 16 (15:30):
Oh okay, mute sounds.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
Yeah, we meet those two there and that'll be good.
So all right, Mark, I'm going to hit start. You'll
have three minutes so once we go, so take your
time and and while we're doing that, we'll go ahead
and bring everyone else back on.

Speaker 16 (15:44):
All right, And if.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
I was you, Mark, I would take all three minutes
just for the FaceTime the people are out there watching.

Speaker 16 (15:53):
Let me give you a little a little plug here.
This is this is the Coveted ras Bull Friends and
Family draft. You know. This is for for bragging rights, glory,
and a couple hundred bucks. I'm picking first. This falls
for the old Billy Burrew Billy Billy Belly by Billy.
I don't know if you guys can see it, but

(16:13):
these are my NFL pencils to mark down, to mark
down the pick twenty two until I pick again. So
we can't screw it up. We gotta have it.

Speaker 5 (16:24):
We gotta hit it.

Speaker 16 (16:26):
With that said, we're gonna go with Jamar Chase can't.

Speaker 5 (16:32):
Jeff doesn't know.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
What to do now.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
I'm so screwed.

Speaker 5 (16:35):
Jonathan Taylor.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
And I don't think that's our music.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
No, I think I think water boys enjoying themselves.

Speaker 12 (17:00):
Is there any copyright thing infringement's going on right now?

Speaker 5 (17:04):
Probably a lot of that CC is somewhere in the back.

Speaker 9 (17:11):
She's off.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
See all right, so.

Speaker 4 (17:22):
Yeah, yell at, yell out. So I know we've got
one seven, we've got one nine. Who's uh on eleven?

Speaker 5 (17:31):
And one twelve? For sure?

Speaker 3 (17:32):
Here?

Speaker 4 (17:33):
Yeah? Mac?

Speaker 16 (17:37):
Where you.

Speaker 10 (17:39):
DC?

Speaker 3 (17:40):
No? What?

Speaker 1 (17:41):
Pick six? Six? So you just took justin Jefferson, And
I think Steve is on the clock.

Speaker 4 (17:51):
Yep, Steve's it Joe, I mean, yeah, Steve.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
Yeah, Richard, Richard is it? Seven?

Speaker 10 (17:57):
I just realized Mark and a Matt on the line.
So it's all the things I get on my coffee
cups one place.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
All right, Greg, Greg's one O five in the chat.
That's awesome. Stay with us, Greg, Yeah, and Chiefs is
chiefs I think is if I remember what his I
am said.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
He is laptop in bed. He's had a long couple
of days, so more power to him.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
That doesn't mean he's immune to the ribbing though, No,
absolutely not no.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
In fact, he's probably more apt to get more ribbing
because he can't defend himself. Here.

Speaker 12 (18:37):
Hey, Matt, I didn't get a chance to say this earlier,
but I wore this tonight.

Speaker 11 (18:43):
You see the old rasp ball. Tell me that's not nice.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
It is beautiful. In fact that before I clicked hold
on what I have here?

Speaker 11 (19:00):
He's not going to come back shirtless, is he?

Speaker 4 (19:02):
Well he's done it before.

Speaker 5 (19:03):
So yeah, there's the ram six shirt.

Speaker 11 (19:09):
Ah.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
Well, which which one did Bob win? Bob Goldman? Did
he win four or did he win three? So yeah,
so we had the winner of that that year. He
was on the draft last night with us, Bob Goldman.

Speaker 12 (19:28):
You guys told me to get my guys, so I'm
going to get Drake London. I think that the Falcons
are just going to throw the ball a million times
this year.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
Well that's not good, Jefferson with with the Bjeon pick.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
But we actually have an internal we've we've thought, not
that not that we promote betting in any shape or form,
but we actually thought about taking over a thirty target
share for Drake London as a group. And jeff what
was the stat that you found when Pennix played It was, Yeah.

Speaker 11 (20:00):
He's the only healthy receiver in the room right now.

Speaker 17 (20:01):
I believe you know, Moon's movie is injured and I
believe Ray Ray McLeod is still and always will be
Ray Ray McCloud.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
But there's Kyle Pitts.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
Kyle Pitts.

Speaker 11 (20:12):
Yeah, I'm sorry, my mistake.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
You're forgiving.

Speaker 4 (20:19):
Gross all right, Chiefs fan took a raider? All right,
that's is he really a Chiefs fan?

Speaker 1 (20:26):
No, we don't know, I remember, I mean Steve. We
don't know who Steve is rooting for. He could be
that could be his burner account. Right, we had three
no joke guys yesterday. We had comments coming on the
right hand side. There were three last named Benavides drafting

(20:48):
last night that Sky knew from his history of hosting
podcasts over the last almost ten years, and they started
commenting differently. I'm like, wait, am I am I, there's
different firsts. And we made the quip that they're probably
going to be trading to make a super Bena Das

(21:09):
team by the end of the season.

Speaker 4 (21:12):
All right, Matt, So just to catch you up when
you were going to change your wardrobe. There we have
both one O three, which is Scott, and one oh
five in the chat perfectly, so we got one O
three one oh five in the chat as well, and.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Hopefully our guy justin water Boy is still available. We
may want to pause it.

Speaker 4 (21:34):
Yeah, there, we see him there. Yeah, we're we're getting
a little background noise coming off you. So I just
put you on mute while you were while you were
doing that.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
But because you know he's on the clock, where's the hat? Ah?

Speaker 9 (21:46):
I know where is it?

Speaker 18 (21:48):
So my phone is recharging my other.

Speaker 8 (21:51):
Phone and then I am on the clock.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
I know that.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
Yes, So if you need us to pause it so
you can go get that phone. We I think, Derek,
you can pause it right.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
If not, you're gonna get Kyle Pitts at one. Oh boy,
oh boy, oh boy.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
I don't see the I don't see a stop button here.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
I don't either. Maybe one day, Jeff, do you see
a pause draft on your sleeper?

Speaker 3 (22:25):
App I'm pulling it up now.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
I thought I saw one last night, but.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
I do not see I got it. I paused it.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
There it is. Now he's gonna have to take some
verbal lashings from the crew, especially us on the East
Coast that want to go to bed within the next
forty five minutes.

Speaker 4 (23:04):
But that's okay.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
I vowed for him, right, I brought him in.

Speaker 10 (23:09):
So if anybody's got a Type five they're working on.
Now might be a good time to bust it out.

Speaker 16 (23:17):
Man, how many hours did you get last night? I
only got two?

Speaker 1 (23:21):
Who was asleep?

Speaker 16 (23:22):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (23:23):
Oh yeah, well I'm not.

Speaker 5 (23:25):
Yeah, you're a better man than I am.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
I good.

Speaker 16 (23:28):
Yeah, I got so much stuff on my mind. I'm
helping my mom. If you see a stuffed animal or
some in the background, I'm helping my mom. She's eighty four,
she's gonna be having surgery next week, so, uh, try
to make the background as good as possible.

Speaker 11 (23:48):
I appreciate you doing that for your mom.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
Man, that's that's absolutely yeah, it's uh.

Speaker 16 (23:55):
And then there's to do well. But uh, I'm an
only child, so just me.

Speaker 12 (23:58):
So, Hey, I'm the same exact boat as you, my friend. Yeah,
but good job by you.

Speaker 16 (24:05):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 10 (24:06):
When the draft pauses, it's real.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
It just it. I mean, he's gonna have to take
a chan then and rescue me.

Speaker 12 (24:26):
I think he's going back and watching last night's draft
just to see who you picked and then.

Speaker 11 (24:31):
Snipe you.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
There. No, he doesn't want to snipe. He wants to avoid.

Speaker 16 (24:37):
Hey, I've got a cook question. Is this now I
thought the email said this was tight end premium. Is
this tight end regular point pr or premium?

Speaker 1 (24:45):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (24:46):
No, tight end premium, no super flex.

Speaker 16 (24:48):
Okay, I must have misread the email. That's good to know.
Now I'll still screw it up, but it's good to know.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
I think Derek is the guillotine. Was that tight end premium?
I think that was Is that right?

Speaker 4 (25:01):
Yes, yes, the guillotine was tight end premium, but the
redrafts are not.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
But if we keep the league intact moving forward, we
are open to discussions for changes to make it better
slash different.

Speaker 16 (25:17):
Oh no, it's fine. You know I didn't mean anything
by that. That's fine the way it is. I just
just had a question.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
If I hadn't eaten dinner, I would say I'd go
make a sandwich. But I'm glad I wasn't drinking. Just
the way he's walking around the house, I'm starting to
get busy.

Speaker 12 (25:40):
Oh yeah, this is the first person fantasy draft, isn't it?

Speaker 11 (25:44):
Is that what this is?

Speaker 1 (25:48):
It's like Halo bit different.

Speaker 18 (25:54):
Yes, sorry, it's gonna be one minute, sorry or a couple.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
None of that stops working over here.

Speaker 5 (26:03):
If it's easier, justin to sign off.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
The stream and use your phone for the draft, and
then you can just log back in because you know,
after you draft your second player, you'll have a pretty
decent wait. If that helps.

Speaker 18 (26:18):
I don't know if I have sleep on this phone,
but I this phone is just about to go back on,
so just bear with me. Three one, hold on, come on,
come on, technology, come on, I know, come on, let's go. Okay,

(26:42):
draft now? Oh here I go.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
My gosh. Now in Justin's defense, and I don't know
that I believe it, but I believe it. He has
only ever played fantasy football on ESPN having cell issues.
This is a brand new environment for him as well.

Speaker 13 (26:59):
So speaking of I've never used a sleeper. Do people
to the queue?

Speaker 1 (27:05):
Am I not able to draft?

Speaker 3 (27:07):
You know?

Speaker 5 (27:07):
Whether there's a little blue it looks like the news article.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
Yeah, I'm not able to draft. Click on the blue
and it should throw them over into your cue.

Speaker 13 (27:16):
Perfect, thank you?

Speaker 1 (27:17):
Yes, sir, All.

Speaker 4 (27:19):
Right, we are back and live.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
Okay, we are back, We are back back.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
He styles you're up, sir.

Speaker 4 (27:29):
Don't screw it up this time, not yet.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
Oh yeah, I think I know what you're gonna do there,
you know I do.

Speaker 4 (27:42):
Hey, guys, if you want to share the link to
the to the YouTube channel. It's posted on the Rasball
nfl X on Twitter. Go to that they just posted.
Put it up there and you can share that with
your buddies and and they can uh, you know, follow
the draft aft and comment in the chat and heckle

(28:02):
you just like we are. So feel free to do
that if you want.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
Okay, so you know what I'm I'm willing to take.
I'm willing to take this from people that I know.
So Scott, I would just tread lightly. We haven't met yet,
you're not on you're not on camera. That one stings.
I'm not going to leave it up on the screen
too long, but I will guarantee that if a chan,

(28:30):
if you guys leave a chan for the third I'm
a man of my word. I will take him and
you will see a hurricane of tilt that you've never
seen before. And Jeff, you didn't know I was going

(28:51):
to do that, did you?

Speaker 3 (28:52):
No? I'm shocked, surprisingly, but I'm here for that.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
Look too. Logged in, Derek. You see who's at the
bottom of the chat. Hey, our old friend Dave. That's weird.

Speaker 5 (29:08):
Chase Brown goes before a chan.

Speaker 15 (29:10):
Oh, Yeah, I.

Speaker 12 (29:12):
Hate them vibes coming out of Miami right now, you know,
with not only his ankle and possible injury thing, it
just it looks like that is just a ball of
confusion down there. And as long as they keep letting
Tyreek Hill have the reins, who knows where it's gonna go.

Speaker 1 (29:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (29:28):
If we cannot mention a chan again, that would be.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Probably too soon. A chance, A chance.

Speaker 5 (29:36):
Hey, Jeff, did you see my name?

Speaker 1 (29:38):
I changed the name in the other league.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
I did see that. Actually, that's gonna comment about that.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
That's money. That is a I'll tape it in the
chat for everybody to see.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
Mhm, okay, no fans of No, that's nice. I like it. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Can you name the band Derek? Because the Sky and
Dave aren't here flapping the basement.

Speaker 5 (30:19):
That is the mighty mighty Cypress Hill kill Hire.

Speaker 4 (30:23):
And I can see the dreadlocks flopping.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
Yep, send dog and be real for anybody that follows
old school.

Speaker 18 (30:33):
I saw Cypress Hill live before, back in the day
of two thousand and two with Lincoln Park.

Speaker 5 (30:41):
Lincoln Park must have opened, right, Yes, yep.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
I saw a band called Prophets of Rage, which was
Chuck d from Public Enemy, Uh be Real from Cypress
Hill and the band from Rage against the Machine, and
they put on a fantastic show. Nice yeah, Edibley right.

Speaker 18 (31:05):
I was supposed to see like two thousand, two thousand
and one Beastie Boys buster rhymes, no doubt who cares,
But like it was canceled, never rescheduled because one of
the guys from Beast Boys broke his.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
Hand, and we're supposed to be rescheduled later day, different venue,
but never happened, and rip, So we have now gone.
This is I think our Derek's eighth or ninth draft,
My eighth or ninth. Jeff's been in a whole gag
ele of him two. That's the latest a non running
back receiver has gone in any draft I've been a

(31:47):
part of super flexor otherwise, that's the latest I've seen
a non running back receiver go. Talking about ours, yep,
I was wondering if it would go all the way
to the.

Speaker 12 (32:02):
End, and maybe just you know, with the one tight
end in this league, maybe that was the thought process.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
Well, Scott's probably gonna take a chance coming back, so
pair him up with I.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
Already told you if he if he's there, at three twelve,
he's gone. Actually, what I'll make him do is I'm
gonna make him wait till four one.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
Man, I don't want to take him.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
You have to.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
I can't do that.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
Yes you can. And I want to watch it. I
want I want Jeff just on the screen solo. I
want to watch see the bile raise up.

Speaker 3 (32:39):
His Oh god, this is gross. I can't do it.
Do what?

Speaker 1 (32:46):
Do what?

Speaker 5 (32:52):
Cruiser said? You're on tilt.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
I know I am.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
Ah, So Mattie, give me a reason why I should
take him.

Speaker 5 (33:04):
So we can suffer together every Sunday morning.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
We love this company.

Speaker 5 (33:12):
I don't know how many ways I can.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
Frame this for you, buddy, Yeah you know what.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
Oh wait, wait, wait before you draft, let me show
you something. Derek, you've seen this. Maybe this is why
you should consider following my lead. They don't hand these
out for free, my friend.

Speaker 3 (33:35):
They do not.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
Oh, he's so sick to his stomach right now.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
Can do.

Speaker 4 (33:45):
Bailed out?

Speaker 3 (33:47):
Bailed third round? Will consider it?

Speaker 1 (33:50):
Do it because Mark doesn't want the ridicule, so he's
gonna leave it. He's going to have to make you
suck it for a second round.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
Then in the third round it's value.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
I'm okay with that.

Speaker 4 (34:04):
You three picks later the third round.

Speaker 16 (34:09):
Nonetheless, you guys get ready to kill me for another pick.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
But like I said, get in line.

Speaker 4 (34:16):
They all right, that's all right.

Speaker 18 (34:20):
You guys watch the TV show called The League.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
No have you in the past? No, I am an
adult male.

Speaker 18 (34:31):
Yes, we got a comedy on that. Good comedy if
you like always Tony.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
He's got to do it?

Speaker 16 (34:41):
Am I wrong?

Speaker 1 (34:42):
Derek? What are we doing? Why is he think?

Speaker 4 (34:44):
Because because he wants to be balanced, you want, he
wants to take a receiver his hands. He's gonna bail.
He's gonna bail on the best player. Oh, he did it,
all right.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
We got to live a little bit, you know, guys,
gotta live a little bit.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
What's it tastes like bile?

Speaker 3 (35:04):
It's not as bad as I thought.

Speaker 5 (35:07):
Well you didn't take in the too eight.

Speaker 4 (35:09):
Well, Scott's on tilt because he wanted that running back
who shall remain nameless. So Scott's on tilt now.

Speaker 1 (35:15):
Right, And I can tell you what when it comes
back to Jeff, everybody just you don't have to make
it obvious that you're watching his little picture there. But
watch as each receiver comes off the board and he
has to sit there and lament, we'll watch.

Speaker 4 (35:34):
Him right now. Because I thank you for doing that,
because I really didn't think that t would make it
back to me, but he did, so I appreciate that.
I thought I was going to take him.

Speaker 1 (35:46):
Jeff, it's gonna go blue, blue, blue blue, I want
to get said to me. It's blue, right, it's gonna
be a uh oh, here's the first quarterback. There's Hardman again.
They don't know he got cut today by the Packers.

(36:07):
I was so untilt last night that I literally thought
that Derek drafted McCole Hardman in the fourth round. I
couldn't see the screen. I was so screwed up. But
it was Marvin Harrison.

Speaker 4 (36:23):
Scary Terry. Is that a Homer pick, Steve, you're on mute, mute,
it is not.

Speaker 13 (36:32):
I dare say I am a cowboy fan.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
Cowboy in DC or the Northeast.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
Yes, we don't see that.

Speaker 16 (36:42):
So I love that pick. If Hill or Hampton was gone,
I was taking Harrison. So I think it's going to
have a big bounce back here.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
But Derek, if you would get the email for him,
I can go ahead and get him off the list.

Speaker 3 (36:56):
For now.

Speaker 13 (36:58):
Yeah, I get that reaction to laugh.

Speaker 4 (37:01):
Yeah, we like cowboy fans in our league.

Speaker 5 (37:04):
Yeah, they write checks to be in the league.

Speaker 14 (37:07):
Don't they think we hand over our money?

Speaker 1 (37:12):
Yeah? Jeff and I.

Speaker 5 (37:14):
Jeff still lives in the San Antonio area.

Speaker 1 (37:16):
I was there too, and I've the fan base for
the Spurs and Cowboys for they.

Speaker 5 (37:21):
Have nothing else in that in that city. It's just brutal.

Speaker 4 (37:24):
Yeah, well the Spurs is fine, but yeah, Ish.

Speaker 3 (37:31):
Spurs are great.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
Just so to get our new stadium form?

Speaker 1 (37:43):
Now, why would he not take my homes? Chiefs fan
is not.

Speaker 3 (37:49):
I don't really think. Yeah, he's not.

Speaker 1 (37:53):
I like it. So he's trying to eat an Oakie dough, right,
he's rope ad open us. Is that really a chief?

Speaker 6 (38:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (38:09):
So Wes West is on the clock now right.

Speaker 5 (38:12):
No, No, West has five hundred targets already in two receivers.

Speaker 12 (38:19):
At least at least yeah, and if you count Chase Brown,
that may you go up to like seven hundred.

Speaker 1 (38:26):
I didn't want to. I wanted you to be able
to brag on you a little bit.

Speaker 3 (38:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (38:31):
Yeah, that's a nice tree over there. I like that
a lot.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
H Did we lose him again? Hearing rummaging for something.

Speaker 3 (38:55):
He's back.

Speaker 5 (38:58):
Back as a flock a minute forty.

Speaker 1 (39:01):
All right, well I'm locked in.

Speaker 4 (39:06):
That's what we like to hear.

Speaker 1 (39:07):
Yeah, I guess I don't understand the definition of locked,
but I guess I'm loaded right now.

Speaker 4 (39:17):
We like to hear that too.

Speaker 12 (39:24):
Do you guys think that Deontay Johnson lands anywhere now
that he's been released.

Speaker 1 (39:29):
No, he shouldn't have landed anywhere in the last two
or three years.

Speaker 4 (39:35):
Yeah. I head a report earlier today the Browns were
the only team to give him any any type of
attention this offseason.

Speaker 6 (39:46):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (39:47):
Not another team out there was inquiring, So we probably
have seen the last of them.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
Mother here it starts.

Speaker 3 (39:57):
No, So Garrett Wilson and Breecee Hall for Styles right here,

(40:17):
my hands shaking.

Speaker 11 (40:24):
I thought about Garrett Wilson.

Speaker 12 (40:26):
Just not sure how many times fields as going to
throw the ball and all that stuff, you know, going
in New York.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
Maybe fifteen twenty times. Again, it could be, Oh.

Speaker 11 (40:46):
He fed Dj Moore when he was in Chicago, so
it's a good possibility.

Speaker 3 (40:51):
So Styles, Breeze Hall over, James Cook talk to me
about that.

Speaker 1 (40:56):
I don't think James Cook's going to fall into the
end zone eighteen times again?

Speaker 4 (41:01):
You know two true story. Not twelve months ago, Almost
about about twelve months ago, I was helping Matt in
one of his home league drafts. We were just chatting
along the way and I talked him out of Breese
Hall at what was it meant one point oh three.

Speaker 1 (41:19):
Thing was at the top of the draft.

Speaker 4 (41:21):
Or four something yet one of the first picks, And
I talked him out of it, and he gave me help.
For maybe two weeks and I haven't heard anything. I
heard heard anything since.

Speaker 1 (41:32):
Yeah, well could it work? I appreciate you putting it
across the Yeah. So I was much more comfortable with Kamara, right.
I needed Camara to slip one spot, but I'll take Brisoli.
Improved offensive line, and usually running running backs that have

(41:56):
running quarterbacks tend to put up decent season. Priest Halt
can catch the ball out of the backfield too, so
I trust him slightly more than I trust Kenneth Walker.
But I would have preferred Kamara at that point. But
I also think Kamara was early at that point. Is
why I think the running backs have gone heavier than

(42:19):
I would have thought. But Jeff said that at the beginning,
they drop off pretty quick. As you can see there,
Cook goes, Yeah. I don't think Cook's gonna he doesn't.
He's not in the passing game as much as he
needs to be, Jeff, I don't think he's gonna score
it a teen touchdowns, So I just see regressing from him. Plus,
he had an attitude in.

Speaker 3 (42:40):
The off season, but he got paid though he did.

Speaker 4 (42:45):
So Wes you ruin my stack. I just want to
tell you that stack in a quarterback where a running
back is just not as sexy as with a wide receiver.

Speaker 1 (42:56):
Well, he's clearly afraid of you because he drafted Berwin
and ran out of the room.

Speaker 2 (43:05):
Well, last thing on James Cook, though, it's just so
interesting that last year, like you said, the eighteen tds,
you're probably only had two touchdowns. So I wonder if
he has eight touchdowns, is that good for you?

Speaker 3 (43:16):
It is.

Speaker 1 (43:16):
I just don't think he's involved enough in the passing game.
I think that's the Ray Davis roll. They probably the
bails me to find a way to get Dalton Kincaid
more involved. And Josh Allen is the running back one
in my opinion, and then you've got Shakiir who runs
great routes and never drops the football, and somebody that
we won't talk about till you draft him in the

(43:38):
eleventh round later.

Speaker 3 (43:40):
I've got him every lease so far.

Speaker 16 (43:44):
I know exactly why Cook did well last year because
I wrote an article or one of the one of
my bus was cooked because of I thought Josh Allen
would still all the touchdowns, and of course I think
they must have read it and they're like, we'll show
Mark time we get to the one.

Speaker 1 (43:58):
So yeah, I think he did. He have a four
touchdown game thrown in there as well.

Speaker 16 (44:04):
Unbelievable. I mean, but he's a he's a good player.
But that's I totally agree with you guys, like, that's
the biggest fear when you've got Josh Allen, who's like
Cam Newton too. Anytime you get near the the goal line,
he's gonna vulture a lot of them. So yep, oh crap,
I didn't. I'm getting sniped from right here.

Speaker 1 (44:37):
Yeah, that's that's really good value on Henderson, who's been
just flying up draft boards. I think Sky may have
taken him a full round ahead of where he went tonight.

Speaker 4 (44:51):
Yes, Sky took him at three eleven yesterday.

Speaker 1 (44:56):
Yeah, yeah, so almost a full round.

Speaker 12 (45:01):
I thought about him when I took Burrow right there,
but just just to get that other receiving back, you
know that.

Speaker 4 (45:08):
But I wish you did. I wish you did.

Speaker 12 (45:11):
I couldn't let you do it with the t Higgins
stack there.

Speaker 4 (45:17):
Let's picked just.

Speaker 3 (45:20):
Sorry, Mark, all right.

Speaker 1 (45:43):
So folks down at the end, Justin and Wes, Yes,
how do we feel uh to start again? Two? Two
running back, three receiver two flex to explain to me
why three running backs early? Just because it was the

(46:03):
value that you saw, Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 18 (46:06):
I was going for the value for those running backs
at that time.

Speaker 1 (46:12):
And Wes, did you feel a need to take the
quarterback five? You took him at a fourth quarterback, But
you just want to lock that up and set it
and forget it each week with the fact that you've
already got a.

Speaker 5 (46:25):
Running back one and all of those targets at receiver.

Speaker 12 (46:28):
Well, you know, my thought was if I could get
a hold of Joe Burrow that I was going to
really think about it. In a six point per passing
touchdown league, I feel like he's going to lead the
league in touchdown passes. And that's just how I feel
strongly about him this year, and I didn't think he'd
roll back around in the fifth. I would have been
happy to wait there. I'm just not real pleased with

(46:49):
some of the receiving options, and I was going to,
you know, slam home receivers in this league, but I
just wasn't real comfortable with some of those Garrett Wilson
choices or anything like that. So there's a lot of
receivers usually in drafts that I do that I'm a
little bit more comfortable with.

Speaker 1 (47:04):
So looking back at the receivers that have gone so far,
would you was was Davante Adams or Sutton? Were they
in your Were they just off the off the fringe,
which is why it was Burrow.

Speaker 12 (47:18):
Well, Adams has got that whole maybe you know Stafford's
broken back or whatever, and I know you got Jimmy
Garoppolo back there. He's thrown to Adams before, so they
got a good combination right there.

Speaker 11 (47:30):
I absolutely love Sutton this year.

Speaker 12 (47:32):
I just didn't think it was gonna be a whole
lot of value that was gonna outweigh Joe Burrow throwing
fifty touchdown passes or however many he's gonna throw this.
That team has no defense, what's whoever the Bengals do.
So they're just gonna they're gonna have to outscore everybody.
And it's always Joe Burrow's guy. You know, it's just
Joe Burrow's team.

Speaker 5 (47:47):
Then, I mean he's got elite receivers.

Speaker 1 (47:52):
I mean t Higgins can finish in the top well
maybe even the top ten. And Jamar Kase is a
triple Crown winner.

Speaker 11 (47:59):
Yeah, definitely.

Speaker 12 (48:00):
So I just I feel I will feel very comfortable
just having Joe Burrow back there.

Speaker 1 (48:10):
You can't even pay Jamie Derek. He just he does
not hold anything back.

Speaker 13 (48:17):
Mhm.

Speaker 1 (48:19):
You're a warning baster or wide receiver. You've got he said,
You've got your anchor wide receiver build around it. So
I've already I've already figured out Mark Ringo, that's for sure.

Speaker 15 (48:45):
That's good.

Speaker 3 (48:46):
Oh, Mark, I really wanted Travis Hunter there, man.

Speaker 1 (48:50):
That's okay.

Speaker 16 (48:51):
Well, I wanted to Adams. I wanted to VINCEI Adams.
We didn't make it back to me.

Speaker 1 (48:55):
I didn't.

Speaker 16 (48:55):
I didn't think you would. And then I was thinking
about Cuba Hubbard and he went, so I was kind
of the thing about picking on the ends is you
really have to. It's hard to forecast twenty two picks,
and if you want a guy, you gotta reach for him. Sometimes.
I love Hunter. I mean everything I've read about him

(49:16):
says that he could like Scouts compared him to like
if he was in last year's draft class, he would
have been up there with Harrison and Neighbors. So I
don't know if he'll you know, he could be a bust,
he could get hurt. But I like him, and you know,
I like the situation. I think Jacksonville's going to pass
it a lot.

Speaker 3 (49:36):
Yeah, I do too. I'm a Jags homer though.

Speaker 16 (49:38):
But yeah, so they wasn't making it back to me.

Speaker 1 (49:44):
I don't think.

Speaker 3 (49:46):
No, I was gonna take him right there.

Speaker 1 (49:49):
Oh you were okay?

Speaker 3 (49:50):
Yeah, I was hoping.

Speaker 1 (49:54):
There are any reservations with weak can or with picking
always the radar pick.

Speaker 3 (50:00):
No.

Speaker 4 (50:01):
Actually, uh, when I made the Hubbard pick, I was hoping.
I was expecting one of Sutton or Metcalf to come
back to me, to be honest with you, and and
Jeff took both of them.

Speaker 1 (50:12):
Raise your hand if you just drafted Courtland Sutton and
became Metcalf.

Speaker 3 (50:16):
In front of there, Yeah, there we go. Feels good.

Speaker 4 (50:21):
Yeah, so I did. I expected one of them to
come back, and that was going to be my plan. Uh,
of course neither one of them did.

Speaker 3 (50:30):
So Uh.

Speaker 4 (50:31):
I really like Pickens in Dallas this year opposite ceedee lamb.
You know we've been we've been really waiting for him
just to blow up, and this is I think this
is the year Dallas should be playing from behind quite
a bit. And you know it all hinges on Dak
staying healthy, and if he stays healthy, then Pickens really

(50:53):
should should blossom. I almost see that as a cop
carbon copy to what since an Eddy's doing with Chas
and Higgins. So in my roster here, I've got the second,
the other pair of the lesser pair of both of
those situations. So we'll see how it turns.

Speaker 1 (51:11):
Out, right, Mark, tell me the truth. Did you think
you were going to be able to make that stack
coming back Mahomes and Kelsey? I was.

Speaker 16 (51:21):
I was thinking about it, but because of the PPR format,
I decided to go receiver and Kelsey might be a
little bit of a reach, but he gets a lot
of catches, so you can just get a few more touchdowns.
I know he's he's probably in his last year. But
I mean, the Chiefs are a pretty good team to
gamble on for touchdowns.

Speaker 15 (51:42):
So uh.

Speaker 16 (51:44):
And I wanted to get a decent tight end in PPR.
And this isn't best ball. This is you got to
put somebody in there. So hopefully he doesn't kill me
a tight end.

Speaker 4 (51:55):
Well, he is getting married now, so let's let's hope
he's not distracted.

Speaker 1 (52:00):
Uh, there's another.

Speaker 5 (52:02):
Way I don't think about Moore. That's a win for me.

Speaker 16 (52:07):
Yeah. Do you guys have any concerns about the Cowboys
offensive line? That's the only concern I have. And with Schottenheimer,
who when I was a kid, Marty ball, they gave
it the Tomlinson every play. Uh, this is Brian Schottenheimer's
is Marty's son, Marty sins passed away. But do you

(52:27):
guys have any concern that he could just run run
the heck out of it.

Speaker 1 (52:31):
They don't have a running back to do that.

Speaker 4 (52:36):
Yeah, that is their weakness at running back, of course.

Speaker 1 (52:38):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (52:39):
And their offensive line is is not their strength. They're
probably in the maybe the lower third of offensive line
ranks that I've I've been looking at. So yeah, Pat
run protection, you know, without really having a premier runner
to me, means quicker passes and more passes. So I

(53:04):
like the I like the passing game there. I probably
you probably won't see a Cowboys running back on my
roster today for that reason.

Speaker 12 (53:13):
In DK, I have the Cowboys running back. I got
Williams fifty two percent of my leagues already right now.

Speaker 11 (53:20):
Just I just keep grabbing him. But he's down there
at the bottom of the draft. Yeah, he's easy.

Speaker 4 (53:24):
In there, definitely. I mean, you know, Eddie, player becomes
value at some point, and you know it's it's about volume.
You know, you get handed the ball, you're you know
you're gonna find end zone, You're gonna find first downs,
and you know that's where the points come from. Garbage
points work well too, so so Matt, you're pretty quiet

(53:54):
after kicking a Bears running back something.

Speaker 1 (53:58):
I selected a player it happens to play half of
these games in Chicago. That's who I draft. Totally different.
But no, I don't love briefall but Reefall I thought
was the best player on the board at that point,
and I am willing to Okay, so I'll be back. Yeah,

(54:31):
motherucker to the draft.

Speaker 4 (54:36):
He's talking to you, water.

Speaker 5 (54:40):
Just reach and took my player.

Speaker 16 (54:46):
Mother fucker were on this on the shelf?

Speaker 2 (54:57):
Yeah boy, Yeah, I have some class. See I wanted
to say that when you took Travis, but I didn't.
I wanted to, but I didn't.

Speaker 16 (55:07):
I don't have class.

Speaker 1 (55:07):
I'll let him fly, So I will tell you that
that is my I believe that's the rookie of the year.

Speaker 5 (55:17):
I believe he is going to be an all pro.

Speaker 1 (55:20):
I believe he is going to possibly set Rookie receiving
records book at BUKA. And I will tell you that's
the earliest I've seen him go. I think it might
be slightly too early, but with get your guys, if it.

Speaker 16 (55:39):
Makes you feel any better, he wasn't coming back to you.

Speaker 1 (55:43):
And I knew that I needed at least a third
running back. And I know that the running backs they're
not it's not going to happen. So that's the pitfall
of being at the end. And I've got right.

Speaker 5 (55:56):
I would have coupled him with Evans.

Speaker 1 (55:58):
That would have been a little bit of an overkill
for me. But yes, for comedic purposes, I absolutely did
cuss out water Boy from the other side of the computer.

Speaker 11 (56:13):
He a water Boy looks unfazed though.

Speaker 4 (56:15):
I mean he's taken in the strides.

Speaker 1 (56:18):
He has care.

Speaker 4 (56:20):
Yeah, bring it on, he said, bring it on.

Speaker 1 (56:22):
And I will tell you this if I did not,
if I was not batting a thousand on responses to
articles that I've written over the last I think four years,
I've responded to every question that's ever been posed to
me on any article I've written.

Speaker 5 (56:37):
If I did not have that current.

Speaker 1 (56:38):
Batting average of a thousand, I would ignore water Boy
for the rest of the season. I wrote him. It's
way more about my self gratification. That is customer service.

Speaker 4 (56:50):
So anytime you respond to his articles this year, water Boy,
you need to lead with that fact that you you
took his guy in six. You need to lead with
that before you say any before you say anything else.
That's that's your lead, every single every single time.

Speaker 1 (57:10):
Just remember that we have.

Speaker 5 (57:12):
To approve questions before they show up at the site.

Speaker 4 (57:15):
So I will get him. I will approve it for you. Approved.

Speaker 1 (57:25):
I'll tell you what, Steve, Steve, he's setting up a
pretty decent little squad there.

Speaker 8 (57:31):
Hey, let me talk to your brother.

Speaker 16 (57:33):
This is the whole media.

Speaker 1 (57:39):
Derrick Henry Bucky Irby McLaurin, Jamison and Golden with Hurts
in the middle. I don't have a problem with that start.

Speaker 13 (57:50):
I took him last night, so tush push is.

Speaker 1 (57:54):
Still legal, So m change your running back. I d
to Walterbuka. I'm not doing that, Dave, but thank you
for the to the idea or for the idea water Buka.

Speaker 5 (58:17):
Oh, he was talking. He was talking to him.

Speaker 1 (58:19):
Don't do that. I will never I know, I will.
I will give up my batting a thousand. I will
never respond to a question from water ag Buka.

Speaker 4 (58:34):
Well, I said it wasn't going to do this tonight,
but the value is just too good.

Speaker 1 (58:42):
No oh oh, yeah, he's got this one uh relationship
with he thinks t J. Hopkinson's watching his drafts. I
don't know if he's trying to get free ticket. It's
maybe a lock of hair, autograph Jersey. I don't know

(59:03):
what he's trying to get.

Speaker 4 (59:04):
That's my fifty two percent right there, Wes, he's my
fifty two percenter right there. I got you.

Speaker 11 (59:11):
I started grabbing him a lot too.

Speaker 12 (59:12):
Just there's there's not a lot of other options there
in Minnesota right now.

Speaker 4 (59:18):
Yeah, it's just right now it's such a it's a
pretty good value right there.

Speaker 12 (59:22):
So I had somebody text me a question earlier about
drafting Aaron Jones and Aaron Jones the running back, and
Mike Jones. I said, everybody, everybody thinks that you should
just wait a couple of rounds and get Mason because
he might do better than Aaron Jones this year.

Speaker 1 (59:44):
That's the if I had to bet a dollar. Again,
we don't condone betting on this show, but that's probably
the number one fifty to fifty split that I can
see right now. Because Aaron Jones is not big enough
body to survive the full season. We learned that in
Green Bay and last year he took his dings. And
Jordan Mason is not a running back one. He's a

(01:00:06):
guy that can spell and can probably take half the load.
If he was as good as everybody is touting now,
he'd still be in San Francisco. But they let him walk.
They let a Elijah Mitchell walk, so they San Francisco
with an offense that can make superstars at running back.
They didn't care to keep either one of them, which
is interesting to me.

Speaker 12 (01:00:29):
Brian Robinson is a guy who I watched in college,
being down here in Alabama a lot, and I think
he's going to work out perfect for that zone running
kind of scheme that that that the Shanahans always have.
He's a downhill runner and he can just hit those
holes pretty well.

Speaker 1 (01:00:45):
You like that, Jeff, You like your stack their homeboy?

Speaker 3 (01:00:51):
It's nice, sure do. Yeah. Feeling good about that one.

Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
Yep. That's why I've got Caleb wore Swift is my stack.

Speaker 11 (01:01:07):
I love that stack, Jeff. I've been getting trying to
get that one in a lot of different leagues.

Speaker 1 (01:01:13):
He's gonna double down with Aaron Rodgers soon with DK Metcalf.

Speaker 3 (01:01:17):
Why not, I mean he did.

Speaker 1 (01:01:23):
He took Abuka. I mean just.

Speaker 11 (01:01:27):
Early too, I mean just to rub it in your
face right after you could have got him.

Speaker 1 (01:01:31):
Yeah, but I again, I I just I was counting
the rounds and I'm like, I don't think he'll make
it back anyway.

Speaker 5 (01:01:38):
But I knew I didn't. I was confident R. J.

Speaker 1 (01:01:41):
Harvey and DeAndre Swift weren't coming back. But now I've
there's only been one other running back that's gone, So
maybe I was mistaken.

Speaker 11 (01:01:49):
I might have been too. Taking Tony Pollard right there.

Speaker 12 (01:01:52):
I was like, boy, those running backs are going pretty fast,
and I just he looks like a receiving option kind
of back for me.

Speaker 1 (01:02:00):
And what did Jeff say at the beginning? Right, running
backs are gonna drop, just do not reach. If you reach,
you're in trouble.

Speaker 4 (01:02:07):
Hey, Mark, do you know if you're down to the
last ten seconds.

Speaker 16 (01:02:10):
Yeah, it's one of them. I'm just trying to debate
the other one, thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
And I wonder if the if Tony Pollard is the
Cliff Wes, is that where it is that like the
final drop off.

Speaker 11 (01:02:26):
Well, there's always Davante Williams out there.

Speaker 1 (01:02:31):
Leave him for Steve, But as far as.

Speaker 12 (01:02:36):
The receiving back goes, you know, I don't, I don't know.
There's not a lot out there after that. Travon Henderson
used to be out there so late in drafts and
you could get him, but he's jumping all the way
up there in the fourth round, if not the third
round a lot of times now. So it's just it's
just hard to find those guys in the PPR league,
like this one is. I've found I wanted to prioritize receiving.

Speaker 1 (01:02:59):
I see at least three or four running backs that
will go probably before you select again west, which will help, right,
you don't need necessarily another one, and it'll help whatever
position you're looking at next, which is which I'll keep
to myself where I think you're going next. But and
running back, maybe one of them, one of those three
or four names drops that may make sense for you,

(01:03:21):
Like you said, I mean there are some There's at
least two pass catchers that I see out there, or
guys with good hands at the running back position.

Speaker 11 (01:03:29):
Yeah, I got I got my eye on somebody.

Speaker 5 (01:03:33):
All right, Mac, what are we thinking? What chears look
like to start?

Speaker 1 (01:03:36):
And what do we think?

Speaker 4 (01:03:42):
It's like?

Speaker 10 (01:03:42):
Where's my mute button? I mean, I'm just I'm not
gonna lie. I'm an awful drafter, so I tend to
make it up in the season with the waiver wire moves.
So I'm I'm mostly getting favorites. My wife went to
Wisconsin for undergrad and the big Packers and uh goodness,

(01:04:05):
Packers and Badgers fans, So sticking to some of the
favorites right now. So hence to John Jonathan Taylor, Fante Adams, Yeah, to.

Speaker 1 (01:04:17):
Me, de Monte Adams will always be a Packer as well.

Speaker 10 (01:04:21):
Yeah, I'm never getting rid of that jersey.

Speaker 1 (01:04:25):
I have a couple of jerseys that I could sell
if anybody's interested in some. Hand me down Aaron Rodgers jerseys.
I only have three of those that I could. Goodwill
wouldn't even take him. They're like, now we're good ship.

Speaker 4 (01:04:37):
One to me, you wear you wear double X if
I need to only if you draft him first, Jeff,
you got to draft him first.

Speaker 1 (01:04:49):
I could be talk I could be talked into send
anyone if you draft him next.

Speaker 3 (01:04:54):
Next are these ones. I think it's fin chance.

Speaker 1 (01:05:01):
I think Mark fell asleep after only two hours of sleep.

Speaker 16 (01:05:07):
I had no idea to take with that second pick.
I apologize, well, if.

Speaker 1 (01:05:12):
They both stay healthy, and that's a massive if. That's
probably what two hundred and.

Speaker 5 (01:05:19):
Twenty targets.

Speaker 16 (01:05:22):
I just figure I need guys that can catch, so uh.
I think digs is a value, and I reluctantly took Pittman.
I was debating a running back or best available, and
once again picking on the ends. I wasn't sure if
he'd come back to me. I'd rather take him around later,
but receiver kind of dries up pretty quick. I was

(01:05:43):
hoping that Buco would come back to me, and he didn't,
So I'm like, better take a receiver now, and then.

Speaker 4 (01:05:51):
You know, with up with the all the bye weeks
from hell coming up. You got five receivers and not
a single overlap in bye weeks. That's pretty impressive in itself,
I have to say, and.

Speaker 1 (01:06:03):
I will tell you that if you if you needed
a running back there, five and six are taking running backs.
Seven is probably taking a running back as well, because
it is they have to at some point figure that
second running back spot out. And there are just enough
names right now.

Speaker 10 (01:06:23):
Mmm, I'll show you.

Speaker 1 (01:06:30):
I'm not gonna let you be right.

Speaker 4 (01:06:36):
Let's do it all right, Scott and Greg are coming up.
Let's hear from them after their picks. They can they
can let us know in the chat how they're feeling.

Speaker 1 (01:06:46):
So I guess Jeff wants to fist fight and so
does all right, Derek, make mental notes of those those guys.

Speaker 4 (01:06:55):
Well, that's the third time Jeff took the wide receiver
that I wanted. That's a third time he's done that.

Speaker 11 (01:07:03):
Extra points for that, Jeff.

Speaker 2 (01:07:05):
Yeah, you know, well's gonna ask some mark. You took
Digs and Pittman and that was curious. Why why you
chose those two over a Doomsay, because I think a
Dounsay is clearly above those two. I'm just curious to
your thoughts on that.

Speaker 16 (01:07:19):
I was thinking. I mean, I'm from Chicago, so, uh,
a doosay may be good, but there's a lot of
mouse to feed in Chicago's they've got DJ Moore, then
they've got a Doonsay. They drafted Luther Burton, and they
also drafted their first pick was Colston loved One, who's
known as a receiving tight end. He's more known for
his receiving abilities than he is for his blocking. I mean,
he's a decent blocker, but receiving is gonna where he's

(01:07:42):
gonna make his make his bones, make his bucks. So
there's just a lot of mouse to feed in Chicago.
And Caleb Williams is coming on lately, but you know,
we'll see how he does. It's a new offense too,
it might take him time to gel a little bit.
Remember they're seeing vanilla defenses right now. So and with
Diggs and Pittman, the way I'm thinking is they're kind

(01:08:03):
of the number one guys in their team. I like
Digs more because even though he's an older guy. Everybody
likes Drake may Well, Who's who's gonna catch Drake May's passes.
It's got to be somebody who's that Henry Hunter. Henry could, Yeah,
he could. But and then Pittman. I was looking back

(01:08:24):
on it. Last year he got hurt. But prior to
last year he was a pretty good receiver, especially in PPR,
he was like a top twenty five, top thirtie ish receiver.
I mean, like I said, it's it's maybe a round
or earlier than I would like. But I didn't get
a Buka, So I was steaming a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:08:43):
Here.

Speaker 16 (01:08:44):
You but a dudes, they could pay off there. I mean,
you know, we'll see.

Speaker 1 (01:08:51):
All right, Derek, somebody asked Derek what he's doing? You
all see it.

Speaker 3 (01:08:57):
I support that message I did the last I got
two Titans. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:09:01):
Well, you know when you look at the uh, I mean,
I'm in the wh in the flex spot, fill in
a flex spot with either a wide receiver running back
or a tight end, and you look across the board
and and you know what player out there is, you know,
one of the higher probabilities of having over one hundred targets,
and you know, maybe even get back up to one

(01:09:23):
hundred catches receptions. Who how many of those players are
out there right now? You know, I don't. I don't know.
He may not pan out to be, you know, that high,
but I'll put him in the flex spot at this point.

Speaker 1 (01:09:36):
Only people that only people that overvalue a dot don't
like any room.

Speaker 4 (01:09:43):
Yeah, I mean he'll run in the slot. He'll run
in close on a tight end position. And you know,
with Hockinson with an early bye week two, that's just
that's that's just one thing I don't have to worry
about later, you know, with a with a fill in
tight end. So I'll run them both out there in
the beginning, see how it goes, and you know we'll

(01:10:03):
go from there.

Speaker 1 (01:10:03):
Right. Do you see this? I said Dreg was going
to take a running.

Speaker 10 (01:10:06):
Back well and my contrarian streak, I really don't want to,
but this is a boring pick, but I'm happy to
do it right now.

Speaker 1 (01:10:14):
That's yeah, I like that. Yeah, there's there's seven easy touchdowns.
You know, Jared Goffs can't fall forward into the.

Speaker 4 (01:10:24):
Un And I thought about that, to be honest with you,
I've got you know, got Gibbs already, and I thought
about tagging him with Montgomery, you know, just to have
that Detroit backfield locked up. And I thought about it.

Speaker 3 (01:10:37):
But and Wes, I.

Speaker 1 (01:10:41):
Assume you're still looking at your guy. I don't think
your guy has come off the board yet.

Speaker 11 (01:10:45):
No, it was a doomzy.

Speaker 12 (01:10:46):
I mean, I knew he wasn't. I was hoping he
would make it back to me. But it was one
of those receivers. It was either Roam or it was
Pierce all Is, one of those two. I didn't think
they'd come back all the way there.

Speaker 11 (01:10:55):
But what man can dream.

Speaker 1 (01:10:58):
Well, I had all three of Igbuca, Piercetallin, and Dunes
at the top of my queue since eight o'clock tonight.
So I hate this.

Speaker 11 (01:11:10):
This really feels like a dead area right here or
the draft for me.

Speaker 12 (01:11:13):
Like the players I'm looking at, I almost wish I
would have waited on Joe Burrow and I could just
go Baker Mayfield or somebody like that.

Speaker 11 (01:11:20):
From a quarterback position, I wish I would have done that.

Speaker 1 (01:11:25):
We've noticed that you can you could honestly wait until
rounds nine and ten to get your quarterback one. And
it's not I mean, yes, Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen.
They're going to score an amazing amount of points and there,
and they're great players. But the difference when you get

(01:11:45):
to the value in rounds nine to ten versus the
receiver you could or running back you could have taken
in place of Borrow, you can't have buyer's remorse because
you looked at the receivers and outside of Sutton, you
probably weren't enamored with any of them. But looking back,
probably later, you'll say, I probably could have taken Ston

(01:12:06):
and it wouldn't have been that much of a reach.
But again, Burrow's gonna Burrow's gonna throw forty touchdowns, you know.

Speaker 4 (01:12:13):
And it's funny you say that too, because Matt and
I had that very same conversation this morning about taking
someone like Joe Burrow, which I did last night, believe
in the fourth round, if I if I remember correctly,
I did. I took him at four to three, just
just about what you did. And uh, you know, we

(01:12:34):
talked about that, and I could have waited. I mean,
I love having them, don't get me wrong, But yeah,
I could have waited on that and gotten a better
wide receiver or a running back there rather than reaching
for Burrow. So, yeah, we had that very same conversation
this morning.

Speaker 16 (01:12:51):
And the scoring kind of I mean, just I just
glancing it over, seems to analyze quarterbacks because it's minus
two for an interception or at least in quarterbacks, and
it's twenty five yards for a point as opposed to
twenty yards a point. So it's just a little bit.
It's not much, but it's it's a little bit to
at least sway me to maybe, you know, I'll get

(01:13:14):
a guy who gets catches who isn't gonna get any
negative points.

Speaker 1 (01:13:18):
Yeah, we left, we left the sleeper scoring pretty boiler plate.
And I think we'll go through the year and at
the end of the year we'll have a hot wash
and determined, all right, what what made sense? What do
we want to change? And again, if we keep the
group of twelve together or keep you know, nine, ten
or eleven something like that, we're going to be open to changes.
I'm not a fan of twenty five yards. I'm not

(01:13:39):
a fan of negative points at any point. So okay,
I'm fine with whatever. I'll screw it up no matter
what I resemble. That remark.

Speaker 12 (01:13:53):
That felt really strange to take a rookie tight end
over a Mark Andrews right there.

Speaker 11 (01:13:59):
You know, it feels strange, but it's worn.

Speaker 5 (01:14:03):
He wasn't getting back to us. If that makes you.

Speaker 4 (01:14:06):
Feel better, Well, the last two tops Fantasy have been rookies,
So yep, there's three and here's a third one.

Speaker 3 (01:14:15):
Okay, I'll take it old call.

Speaker 1 (01:14:19):
Yeah he was, he was the player atop my Q.
But having three teams without a tight end left me
thinking he's probably not gonna make it. Once Tracy went,
I thought, okay, Kittle's gone or the next team as Kittle,
But I wasn't going to survive the next three picks

(01:14:40):
with no tight ends on the board for those teams.

Speaker 11 (01:14:44):
Well, and Daniel Jones is throwing to him, So what
do I got to fear?

Speaker 1 (01:14:49):
You know, over the last three it's three or four
seasons the most the highest completion percentage quarterback to slot
people in the slot, not necessarily slot receivers passes to
the slot position. It is Daniel Jones, which a matter

(01:15:10):
that might have been on thirteen passes.

Speaker 12 (01:15:12):
But yeah, maybe judging by things that water boys got
to be coming up here in the pics just looking
at his camera.

Speaker 17 (01:15:20):
Yeah, yeah, if he could right now.

Speaker 1 (01:15:27):
He taken Bucca again.

Speaker 15 (01:15:30):
Yea, is he with us?

Speaker 4 (01:15:48):
H He's with us unfortunately, hm hmm.

Speaker 1 (01:16:09):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (01:16:09):
He's done it to both of us.

Speaker 1 (01:16:10):
Derek.

Speaker 4 (01:16:16):
Does anyone else here love Charbonay this year? Is it
just me?

Speaker 1 (01:16:21):
Not me?

Speaker 4 (01:16:22):
No, you're learry about the Seattle running back room.

Speaker 16 (01:16:28):
I'm larry about Seattle in general. Although if I was
going to take a running back I think I'd be
leaning Charbonnay because of Walker's ankle. Uh walk Walker's been
he just started practicing. I mean, it's a long season.
You don't want to enter the season hurt. But so
that might be a good pick. I just I'm not

(01:16:48):
a big Sam Darnold fan, so you know, I don't.
He doesn't have Justin Jefferson him to bail him out
this year.

Speaker 4 (01:16:54):
Well, all he has to do is hand it off.

Speaker 16 (01:16:56):
Yeah, we're good, but hopefully they get you know, for
the Charbonnay owner, they get more than three three plays
in a punt. You know, you want to get a
drive going. But they've got a good defense or improved defense.

Speaker 1 (01:17:09):
I think so.

Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
Yeah, I think Charbonney's value is just tied if Kenneth
Walker plays or not.

Speaker 3 (01:17:17):
And that's just hard to.

Speaker 2 (01:17:21):
You're kind of like rooting for him to not play,
and then Charbonney has standalone value because if not, he
didn't play at all last year when Walker was healthy.

Speaker 16 (01:17:35):
Yeah, you never root for guys to get injured. But
I mean, that's uh, that's the reality of the NFL.
It's a long, grouling season and uh, you know it happens.
And like to use a golf analogy, instead of fighting
the wind, you play the wind, so you know if
the wind's blown left or right, am your ball to
the left?

Speaker 1 (01:17:53):
You know?

Speaker 3 (01:17:56):
Damn it? Styles I wanted Bill.

Speaker 1 (01:18:00):
You don't care.

Speaker 16 (01:18:06):
I knew I should have said anything about love only
that was a nice picture.

Speaker 4 (01:18:14):
Yeah, maybe a touch early, but who am I to
say I took two tight ends already?

Speaker 17 (01:18:18):
So and there I am with Week twelve running backs again.

Speaker 1 (01:18:37):
Just can't get away from it.

Speaker 12 (01:18:42):
How much weight do you guys put into when you're
drafting of trying to pay attention to those bye weeks
or do you just kind of ignore them when you're drafting,
Take the best available on the board and just deal
with it when it comes here.

Speaker 1 (01:18:54):
All right, last night is a clear indication that I
didn't pay any attention to it.

Speaker 5 (01:19:00):
But I think.

Speaker 1 (01:19:01):
I mean, so I got three running backs last night,
all week twelve, and I thought to myself, all right,
so I've got eleven weeks to figure it out, and
I think in eleven weeks I can figure something out.
And then I took who did I take? Woody Marx
and Trey Benson at the end. So I've got at
least some coverage, and I'm okay with that. And I'm

(01:19:23):
happy with the players that I took when I took them.

Speaker 12 (01:19:27):
About two running backs from Washington going in the same
in four picks? How about that?

Speaker 11 (01:19:37):
I mean, unless you consider Deebo a wide receiver.

Speaker 1 (01:19:39):
At this point, Switchblade, I don't know that I'm sold
on Deebo anymore. There was a time when I loved
the guy.

Speaker 11 (01:19:54):
It's either him, Addison Cup, Shakir Godwin, Jennings.

Speaker 1 (01:20:02):
They're all the they're all the same player at this point.

Speaker 17 (01:20:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:20:05):
Maybe all right, Derek, what are you looking at?

Speaker 5 (01:20:27):
Third tight end.

Speaker 4 (01:20:28):
Three in a row by you? You know there's there's
a nice one out there. There is you know, if
I use the same logic that I that I had
the last time.

Speaker 1 (01:20:36):
Absolutely right, I'm sure many people could argue with you
if you did that.

Speaker 4 (01:20:45):
They could, but.

Speaker 1 (01:20:47):
They'd be wrong.

Speaker 4 (01:20:51):
They might be wrong tonight. They might be right in
a few weeks, but they might be wrong.

Speaker 1 (01:20:54):
Yeah, I'm most excited by Max pick because he does
he just doesn't care. That's what makes this fun. He's like,
I'm just gonna do whatever I do and I don't
really care about making friends or impressing people. It's gonna
take whoever I want here.

Speaker 10 (01:21:13):
But I thought we were friends, Yes we are. I'm in.
I'm inspired by the oops all tight ends flex strategy,
so I don't maybe I'll feeling, you know, do something here.
But I think depending on how this pick goes, my
next pick is gonna be boring as well.

Speaker 4 (01:21:34):
So I will tell you. In one of my leagues,
I'm looking to see which one it was, it was, Oh,
it was ras Bull. Actually I took McBride, Hockinson, and Ingram. Wow,
all three of them in a row. Well, no, not
in a row, but I scored all three of them

(01:21:57):
because I McBride was early, and then I took the
other ones bit later. But I just didn't like what
I was seeing at the you know, at the wide
receiver position and I wanted arms, I wanted you know, receptions,
and you know, I just saw those two tight ends
as being the best option, you know, in the flax
and put him in and put him in those two

(01:22:17):
positions and go with it. So we'll see how that
strategy runs out in ras Bull.

Speaker 1 (01:22:22):
There's the name Steve, that's the one. That's the guy
I believe that Derek was referring to.

Speaker 4 (01:22:28):
Yeah, Derek wasn't going to take him, but it was
a good discussion point.

Speaker 1 (01:22:32):
Sounds like Derek's talking about himself in the third person,
which is awesome.

Speaker 4 (01:22:39):
Well, Derek's about to make a mistake. So I don't
want to I don't want to own that.

Speaker 1 (01:22:44):
And Mac, I don't think that was boring. I think
that is extreme value in the eighth round.

Speaker 4 (01:22:49):
Oh yeah, I agree.

Speaker 10 (01:22:50):
Yeah, I couldn't. I couldn't pass that up. And you
know again, Packers connection. So I mean, as long as
he's got juice, I mean, I'll ride it as long
as I can.

Speaker 5 (01:22:59):
I thought that was Wes's pick.

Speaker 1 (01:23:01):
I thought Wes was gonna take Aaron Jones at that point.

Speaker 12 (01:23:04):
I'm a Bears fan, so I can't take Aaron Jones.
It's it's against it's against everything I stand for.

Speaker 1 (01:23:09):
Oh, Derek, you mic for a minute, Derek, I have
to write another email.

Speaker 4 (01:23:16):
Well you have the same feeling for the Bears.

Speaker 1 (01:23:21):
Right, but it's my show.

Speaker 4 (01:23:23):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 11 (01:23:24):
Sorry, Matt.

Speaker 4 (01:23:25):
You guys look you know.

Speaker 5 (01:23:27):
It's far from my show.

Speaker 4 (01:23:28):
Guys, look alike, we.

Speaker 5 (01:23:33):
Went over it last night. Wes, I'm gonna quiz you.

Speaker 1 (01:23:36):
Green Bay Packer, Mac, you can't answer unless Wes is wrong.
The mount Rushmore of Green Bay Packers quarterbacks west go
four of them. Jim McMahon, no, Green Bay Packer.

Speaker 12 (01:23:47):
Yeah, he was a Green Bay Packer quarterback at some point, right, Yes,
he was legendary Bear quarterback too. Mike tom Zach I
think ended up playing for the Green Bay Packers as well.
Oh four green Bay Packer man, you know saying all that.
First of all on personal level, not necessarily like a

(01:24:10):
big fan of Brett Farv, but Brett Farv was a
fantastic quarterback. And then Aaron Rodgers all respect to him, man,
He he did own the Chicago Bears.

Speaker 11 (01:24:20):
Just that's just what he did. He just owned him.

Speaker 12 (01:24:22):
And then you gotta go, like way back when if
you want to start pulling out other ones, you know,
I'll tell you the guy with the mullet in the eighties.

Speaker 11 (01:24:32):
I used to love watching him run around Magicowski.

Speaker 1 (01:24:38):
Yeah, yeah, he was fun.

Speaker 11 (01:24:40):
He was fun to fun to watch there. So I'll
give those guys.

Speaker 16 (01:24:46):
I'll give you four uh Star Farv Rogers and Kurt
Order Our Kurt Order was cut but he was there.

Speaker 1 (01:24:55):
Yes, so is Mark Brunell, mat was Ty Detmer.

Speaker 5 (01:25:00):
But there is only one right answer.

Speaker 1 (01:25:01):
It's Bart Star, Brett Farr, Aaron Rodgers, and Jake Cutler.
That is the Green Bay Packers.

Speaker 16 (01:25:10):
Nayler's gotta serve jail time a few days for a
d u y.

Speaker 1 (01:25:13):
I love Jake Cutler, the cigarette, the meme with the cigarette,
Jake Calert, fantastic.

Speaker 16 (01:25:21):
Here's the best quarterback the Packers ever had. Lord and
the Bears traded a number one. Oh god, he screwed
me one pick away from Mason.

Speaker 5 (01:25:36):
Feel free to raise the roof.

Speaker 3 (01:25:38):
I'm gonna raise it. Scoll them.

Speaker 16 (01:25:42):
Yeah, let's see.

Speaker 1 (01:25:44):
Here, all right, and let me Derek, let me ask
you this. I know that you're high on the scat man.

Speaker 2 (01:25:53):
Ye.

Speaker 1 (01:25:54):
Why is that?

Speaker 3 (01:25:57):
Well?

Speaker 4 (01:25:57):
I do like Tracy, and I think Tracy's gonna get
all of run. But when you get to the goal line,
and I could see him falling into the end zone
eight times.

Speaker 1 (01:26:10):
And so you're confident that his size and his frame
and his style will translate to.

Speaker 4 (01:26:18):
Yeah, I do, and and I you know, he's he's
one of those guys, you know, we see him every
now and then, who you know, the fans adore because
they just strap it on and they go and to me,
to me, he's to me, he's one of those guys.
You know, he's a blue collar running back. The fans
are gonna love him, and they're gonna be just screaming

(01:26:40):
for the Giants. I mean, the Giants are not going
to be a very good team this year, don't get
me wrong. So, but they're gonna be screaming to see
what they have in him, as he you know, the
running back you can build around. You know, they've got
the quarterback, they think, you know, they got it. They're
gonna see if they got the running back. And so
I think he's gonna get maybe you know, a third

(01:27:00):
of the time share in the beginning, but once he
gets most of the goal line or you know, if
they need two yards for a first down, you know,
I can see him getting the rocking and we we
get points for conversions in this league, so I'll I'll
take my shots on that.

Speaker 1 (01:27:16):
We get points for first downs in this league.

Speaker 4 (01:27:18):
Conversions. Yeah, there's I didn't look at any of the scoring,
so so i'll i'll see, I'll see what I got there.
I mean, he is my third, you know, running back,
so it's not really a lot of pressure. Uh, you know,
if I'll put him in the flex or I won't,
you know, depending on who else I have. But yeah,
you know, if he could get into the end zone,

(01:27:40):
you know every other game, you know, on average, I'll
take that.

Speaker 1 (01:27:46):
So let me show the shirt.

Speaker 3 (01:27:49):
Kind of had to do it.

Speaker 1 (01:27:52):
So the over under week four and a half, Jackson
Dark becomes the starter over under week four and a half.

Speaker 4 (01:28:02):
Under.

Speaker 1 (01:28:03):
Yeah, ooh nice.

Speaker 12 (01:28:08):
When is the trade deadline, because that's when I think that,
you know, the Giants may be trying.

Speaker 4 (01:28:16):
To trade Russell Wilson. Yeah, you think there's a market
for him.

Speaker 11 (01:28:21):
There at some point there's a quarterback need in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (01:28:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:28:28):
I think there's a point where he becomes the mentor
and that might be well, I know, four and a
half's good, it might be week five wins the bye
week fourteen, So I think he's got the rains by
week six, kind of like it'll be like Drake May
last year. You know, he'll come in just before and
about halfway and and he'll run with it the rest

(01:28:50):
of the the year.

Speaker 2 (01:28:53):
So I think it's going to be week five just
looking at the schedule. Well, no, I got the Commanders,
they have the Awboys Chiefs. They're probably going oh and three, yep,
I go. And then week five New Orleans. What a
great place to start them against the Saints for the
Ants because the next week they're in Philly.

Speaker 13 (01:29:17):
Does Rust have mentality to be a mentor? I mean
he's a he's a non duct.

Speaker 1 (01:29:22):
I think he has the potential to be a mentor. Unlimity,
I like.

Speaker 11 (01:29:33):
The New Orleans call? Could that be close back to
his college days and everything back the So.

Speaker 1 (01:29:42):
No, what's worse? Unlimited or do all?

Speaker 16 (01:29:50):
Man?

Speaker 5 (01:29:51):
It's so cringe, it's awesome.

Speaker 3 (01:29:55):
When I first heard him say that, I was like, dude,
you didn't prepare a do of all? Like he didn't.
No one told him how to say it, like.

Speaker 1 (01:30:04):
And the second thought was, God, I hope none of
these guys heard it.

Speaker 3 (01:30:09):
And everyone did. The Internet lives forever.

Speaker 1 (01:30:11):
Unfortunately everybody. What is happening to my draft right now?
I think I was. I was at like eight eighty
percent craft roster ship up until I think but.

Speaker 16 (01:30:39):
Robert's long lost son.

Speaker 17 (01:30:49):
That was rough.

Speaker 4 (01:30:50):
You know, I will I'll tell you I did misspeak.
I was getting my leagues confused. Yeah, there is no
points for conversions in this one, so my bad. I
take that back.

Speaker 11 (01:31:01):
Two point conversions that counts well.

Speaker 4 (01:31:03):
That yeah, right, But yeah, I was. I'm actually in
another draft at the same time, and I was just
looking at that before I came on, so I had
it in my mind. But no, disregard good catch, Greg.

Speaker 1 (01:31:17):
Nobody cares what Greg thinks. I had to live through
one person that needed a tight end one. Thanks Greg.

Speaker 4 (01:31:26):
Yeah, good pick, good pick. Greg.

Speaker 1 (01:31:28):
Thumbs up to Greg.

Speaker 16 (01:31:30):
What do you guys think of Jennings? Was it a calf?
Is he healthy or is where do you guys have him?

Speaker 10 (01:31:38):
It was an interesting pick him in the middle of
the ninth round.

Speaker 1 (01:31:48):
I think you're right on target for ADP then Mac,
it could be a good pick.

Speaker 4 (01:31:53):
Yeah, there's there's some optimism that he'll be ready for
week one. You know, even if he's out there with
especially with the calf injury, you know, they're probably going
to take him a little slow, so it'll be a
couple of weeks before he's up to full speed. I'm
sure even if he's out there.

Speaker 1 (01:32:08):
He's gonna play before I I can give you that much.

Speaker 2 (01:32:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:32:12):
Yeah, And I think if you listen to the pundits, right,
the fantasy experts, which we always have to put it
in quotes when we talk about it, and Greg's right,
the calf and the hold in is much more about
the contract.

Speaker 16 (01:32:26):
Oh yeah, I didn't think of that. That's a great point.

Speaker 1 (01:32:28):
Yeah, So they they have considered the San Francisco has
has floated rumors that they may puff him for the
first four weeks. And I think that is a ploy
to say, listen, I think your calf is all right,
and so why don't you come in here, get some football,
and we'll talk about it after you get back to practice. Yeah.

Speaker 12 (01:32:49):
I was eyeballing keyon Coleman there because I want more
wide receivers.

Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
Right.

Speaker 12 (01:32:53):
We got Godwin, Reid, Downs, Higgins, Ayuk all before him,
I think, you know, just in the in the rankings,
and he went ahead and grabbed Keon Coleman. I was
going to and then I decided the last minute I
was going to wait and just go ahead and get
my guy and and you know he's my guy this year,
Williams and and just take him there and wait for
Keon Coleman to come back around to me.

Speaker 11 (01:33:14):
But he's gone.

Speaker 5 (01:33:17):
He would have made it past me West whatever that's worth.

Speaker 11 (01:33:20):
Okay, Shakiir and Coleman both went next.

Speaker 1 (01:33:24):
Next one here. Shakir probably wouldn't have made it past me,
but Javonte and Coleman would have. But how many that's
how many running backs for you?

Speaker 14 (01:33:36):
Now?

Speaker 3 (01:33:36):
Three?

Speaker 1 (01:33:36):
Or is that four?

Speaker 11 (01:33:37):
That's three?

Speaker 1 (01:33:44):
The first one's pretty darn good.

Speaker 11 (01:33:49):
I will take that as a slapped to the face
of my other two. That's all.

Speaker 1 (01:33:52):
No, I just I'm not the I'm I'm agnostic to
Tony Pollard. Jeff's the guy you need to talk to about.

Speaker 3 (01:33:57):
Tony Pollard tattooed on my chest.

Speaker 1 (01:34:01):
Yeah right, well I thought it was your Now, Yeah, well.

Speaker 10 (01:34:08):
I gotta ask what's the Jaguars connection, Jeff, because I'm
a Jaguars fan naturally, so I don't come across many
of us very often in the wild. No connection there so.

Speaker 3 (01:34:22):
Now, Mac, it's an honor to meet you, sir. No,
there's really no connection there.

Speaker 2 (01:34:27):
I'm a Texas guy through and through, but just as
a kid, just always when they became an expansion team,
they just were happened to just be the team. The
color teal my dad runs his own business and it's
he has the color teal in it, so it's like
a family color. And then so the teal in black
being San Antonio the spurs is kind of weird things.

Speaker 3 (01:34:51):
And it was a mark.

Speaker 2 (01:34:52):
I had my first jersey, number eight and teal. My
dad's left handed, so it's just one of those weird
things when you're a kid.

Speaker 3 (01:34:59):
Just there. They were really good at the time too,
and I.

Speaker 10 (01:35:02):
Just liked your means. It was my favorite my first jersey.

Speaker 5 (01:35:07):
And Mac, what does matron means? He means business.

Speaker 10 (01:35:16):
Well, my my origin stories were kind of similar and
so much as you know, I was young, but at
the time, my grandmother lived in Jacksonville her entire life,
and uh, I was down there when I was twelve,
helping her after a heart attack. When they were selling
like the personal seat licenses and things like that, and
so when I got back home and then they announced
the expansion team. Is like, holy shit, So I got

(01:35:39):
a I got a better option. I somehow upgraded, possibly
depending on your opinion from the Falcons. So you're my
allegam vary there. But I watched the Packers mostly with
my wife because I enjoy actual watchable football.

Speaker 3 (01:35:56):
For the most part, They're watchable.

Speaker 10 (01:35:58):
Come on, now, well they're better now that's the nice
thing at least. But you know, we both lived through
the Bordal and the Gabbert years.

Speaker 1 (01:36:08):
Are they are the Jags available on any local stations
or do you have to Is there like some type
of penalty you have to pay to watch them? Oh?

Speaker 10 (01:36:18):
We we have Sunday ticket. I'm a you know, through YouTube.
I mean it's a cost of doing business as a
fantasy football player these days.

Speaker 4 (01:36:26):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 1 (01:36:27):
I was just curious if maybe they blocked them just
out of spite for how bad they were.

Speaker 10 (01:36:33):
I blocked them mentally after all of that. Miles Jack
was not down in that championship game, so I've been
sort of watching. Watching that collapse in a hotel, not
airport bar in Atlanta between flights was one of the

(01:36:53):
grimmer experiences of my life.

Speaker 3 (01:36:56):
Yeah, and they.

Speaker 1 (01:36:57):
Seem I don't want to put them in the same class,
but they seem pseudo Cleveland dish with the fact that
their their draft picks just never seem to hit. You know, mccardeal,
Jimmy Smith, I think we're both free agents, right so there. Yeah,

(01:37:18):
Brian Thomas obviously hit last year, but it Bortles was Bortles.

Speaker 3 (01:37:23):
And then he was just not Mortals Blaine Gabber.

Speaker 1 (01:37:27):
Gabert, Yeah, who is the defensive guy they drafted first
a couple of years ago?

Speaker 3 (01:37:34):
That, uh, Jalen Ramsey, Well, he's long gone.

Speaker 5 (01:37:38):
No, he was a he was a frontline guy, defensive lineman.

Speaker 2 (01:37:42):
I think the other Josh Allen. Yeah, yep, he's still
around him. He's good, but yeah he's not.

Speaker 3 (01:37:51):
And then they got, uh, Georgia Jooring a blank right now?

Speaker 1 (01:38:00):
Help say it, Jeff?

Speaker 3 (01:38:04):
What happened when I missed? Oh water boy? You okay?

Speaker 1 (01:38:11):
Yeah? So we hate to be the bearer of bad news,
but you officially just.

Speaker 5 (01:38:15):
Finished last.

Speaker 3 (01:38:19):
Thanks for your contributions are as well.

Speaker 5 (01:38:21):
You can go auto now and maybe.

Speaker 1 (01:38:25):
It is over for you. It is the kiss of death,
the grim reaper that is Kyle Pitts, but it saves
you Jeff from having to think about it again.

Speaker 3 (01:38:40):
Oh, man, I would have considered it just for the misery.

Speaker 2 (01:38:49):
Yeah, man, that's cool. You're a Jags fan. Yeah, we
very few of us in the wild. It was so
funny when the Jags they come back into charge Argers.
One of my old friends in elementary school happened to
text me, was like, hey, are you still a Jags fan?
And I showed top my jersey. I say, yeah, dude,
there was an incredible game. He's like, I can't believe

(01:39:10):
that you're like the only Jags fan that I know.
And I'm like, yeah, there's like probably a hundred of us.

Speaker 1 (01:39:16):
But I will say this, right, if you can get
past the riff wrap that is an around Jacksonville during
game day, the female Jags fans are elite, right, little
the little game day makeup and the and the shirt

(01:39:36):
tight and the not front or back, I don't care
which way, the cutoff jeans short. I mean, what are
we doing here?

Speaker 3 (01:39:45):
I mean just elite great analysis.

Speaker 1 (01:39:49):
Yeah, thank you. It's all about football. And that's how
I view football. First from the lens of a from
a lens of a middle aged pervert, I guess.

Speaker 4 (01:40:01):
And now we've got your team name. It just rights itself.

Speaker 1 (01:40:11):
It is, and at this point, I just I don't
help myself at all. I continuously put my foot in
my own mouth. All Right, I'm tired. Let's see if
we can't get this thing moving along, Derek, can you
put it down to thirty second clock?

Speaker 4 (01:40:30):
I could, but I'm just afraid that water boy's gonna
need another time out.

Speaker 1 (01:40:38):
He might be lucky that Dave's not here.

Speaker 3 (01:40:40):
Dave is kind of a.

Speaker 1 (01:40:42):
He's a little bit.

Speaker 4 (01:40:43):
I mean, Dave was making the turn and oh, in
record time.

Speaker 3 (01:40:48):
I know, it's incredible.

Speaker 4 (01:40:49):
I didn't think someone could click the mouthse that quickly.

Speaker 1 (01:40:52):
But he's and I think he's in what a thousand
and fifty six leagues at this point.

Speaker 3 (01:41:00):
Let's go, let's go, come on.

Speaker 1 (01:41:07):
That's a good pick too. I guess they named what's
his Rattler the starter today?

Speaker 3 (01:41:14):
Yeah, I was. I wasn't too surprised by that, because
I don't believe in Tyler Shark.

Speaker 4 (01:41:23):
Well do we believe in Rattler either?

Speaker 1 (01:41:25):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:41:26):
I mean no, but I'd prefer him.

Speaker 1 (01:41:31):
E Ratler because he played at Oklahoma. Right.

Speaker 3 (01:41:35):
No, I don't really like it. I mean, I know
you're a big ut fan, right, Oh yeah, you know
horns down.

Speaker 1 (01:41:47):
Look at Dave.

Speaker 5 (01:41:48):
Dave can't even keep up with the chat. He's on
the clock somewhere else.

Speaker 10 (01:41:58):
Well, just because we were talking about the Jaguars man as.

Speaker 1 (01:42:01):
Well, here you go back to back Jags running backs
made Jeff watch it happen to satting down in that
you know that little chair in the corner of your
hotel room, Jeff sitting there when they made those two pitchs.

Speaker 10 (01:42:20):
I thought this was a family show.

Speaker 4 (01:42:22):
No, never never been built a family show. We have
in fact on YouTube there's a disclaimer especially for us
that we've got to fill out if you want the if.

Speaker 1 (01:42:36):
You want the g rated version of the Draft show,
you just tune in Friday.

Speaker 4 (01:42:40):
Yeah, turn it fright. This one will be this is
a lot more fun.

Speaker 3 (01:42:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:42:46):
Now, if we would have had Sky on this one,
it would have been off the rails a lot earlier
than it was. It would have been all about music trivia,
nineties sitcom trivia. We would have had it at least
half a dozen more Mike Jones references. Nobody who thank you,

(01:43:07):
Mike Jones?

Speaker 13 (01:43:08):
Got you?

Speaker 1 (01:43:10):
That might be my team name this year. Eight and
zero zero four. Have you seen that where they bring
the Bills players out of the locker room after practice
and then somebody's holding up a sign says whose phone
number is this? And it's the Mike Jones phone number
from his song, his rap, and about half the guys

(01:43:31):
and they just walk by Mike Jones. Mike Jones and
others are like the younger ones. I had no idea
who that the offensive linemen are telling them move on.
If you don't know who that is whose phone number, you're.

Speaker 15 (01:43:42):
Not with it.

Speaker 4 (01:43:44):
So someone asked a question earlier about taking running backs
with the same bye week, and do we look at that?
So if you look at my running backs after Gibbs, Hubbard,
Scataboo and Stevenson now all have week fourteen buys, you know,
for me my strategy, I don't mind that as much

(01:44:05):
because it's week fourteen. I think we kind of said
that earlier. But if it was week six or week eight,
I probably wouldn't have done that. I would have gone
a different way. But the fact that it's week fourteen,
and you know, I expect at least one of these guys,
if maybe even two others running backs might not be

(01:44:25):
you know, playing every week at by week fourteen, so
I just bake in that I'm going to have to
go a different way at some point with a running back.
But so I'll do it now. But if it was early,
if there was early bye weeks, I definitely wouldn't have
done that. That's just my strategy.

Speaker 1 (01:44:44):
Yeah, And I think if you're if you're a depth
at like Max said about the waiver wire, right, if
you if you know that that's the strength of yours,
then you probably don't need to worry about the waiver
wire during your draft or the not the waiver wire,
but the bye week during your draft, because you have
that strength already in your back pocket.

Speaker 4 (01:45:02):
And we can make trades too in this league.

Speaker 1 (01:45:04):
So yeah, for sure. But knowing Mac doesn't really like
that fun part of the league, he'll he's probably not
going to respond mhm. The auto reply for Mac will
be it's been three days in the trade.

Speaker 4 (01:45:20):
He's gonna he's gonna respond to Jeff.

Speaker 1 (01:45:23):
Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, there's already a solid connection.

Speaker 10 (01:45:26):
I work for the government, so I got a little
bit of time to respond to.

Speaker 5 (01:45:32):
So hopefully you don't get that return to office letter
like some.

Speaker 10 (01:45:36):
Of us did Oh no, I've been back yeah the
whole time, so uh, whenever kicked back in. So that's
been fun. And they're moving our office to northern Virginia
to make it even further for me.

Speaker 4 (01:45:49):
What part of Maryland are you at?

Speaker 10 (01:45:51):
Uh, Seller Spring? Okay, you're up there, but I'm right
on the Tacoma Park borders. So that's why Tacoma Park
Terriers has a better ring to it than Silver Spring Terriers.

Speaker 4 (01:46:03):
When I worked in DC, I moved to Virginia a
couple of years a few years ago. But when I
when I worked in DC, I lived in southern Maryland,
drove and drove in every day.

Speaker 10 (01:46:16):
They're one of my colleagues comes in from West Virginia. Yeah,
and you know, I got a guy that works in
an office that comes from Richmond. It's like there are
a lot of people coming from a lot of long places.
Based on the telework we used to have for a
decade plus.

Speaker 1 (01:46:37):
Yeah, I haven't been able to reconcile the need to
be in face to face company, but.

Speaker 10 (01:46:44):
Here we have one in person meeting. If it started, I.

Speaker 1 (01:46:49):
Walked into the office today and I'm kind of roving.
I have kind of a desk. But as a contractor,
I was government for thirty years. Now I kind of
have a desk. That's not really my ask because the
lady's getting ready to retire. But I walked in and
I looked over the woman that was on the meeting,
so she got her headset on. And there's like thirty
people in the meeting. I know for a fact they're

(01:47:10):
all in the building, and not one of them thought
to go sign out a conference room to go have
the meeting. But for some reason, they all have to
be in the building. And I thought, if that is
not government efficiency and it's absolute finest, I don't know
what it is. So let's all commute an hour in
Tampa traffic both ways an hour to get in there

(01:47:33):
and put on the same headsets that I would put
in or put on from sitting in my office at home.
I don't get it, and I'm salty about it. So
if you couldn't tell.

Speaker 10 (01:47:47):
Well you will see to get it. Back on the football,
I did take a second quarterback there, Yes, strictly on
the Yolo philosophy. Yeah, I love love is really why
I walls down And Kyle.

Speaker 1 (01:48:02):
Pitts was gone, so that didn't make you You didn't
have that decision to make.

Speaker 10 (01:48:07):
You know, it's torn between Love and Aaron Rodgers. What
can I say?

Speaker 5 (01:48:13):
You could take a third quarterback you've got three more.

Speaker 1 (01:48:15):
Picks, or you can leave test one two. You can
leave that Aaron Rodgers for Jeff and his DK metcalf Stack.

Speaker 3 (01:48:26):
Don't take him.

Speaker 1 (01:48:28):
I'm not gonna touch him. I don't think I have
a second quarterback in any one quarterback league so far.

Speaker 10 (01:48:42):
Oh yeah, it is absolutely a nonsense decision on my part.
But you know, I just, you know, gotta gotta gotta
pick your guys sometimes. And yeah, first case scenario, it's
a hedge with the Homes. I do think Love's gonna
have a bounce back here this year, especially if they
get a move in with his legs a little bit more.

Speaker 1 (01:49:00):
And Mac do this, look up the NFL schedule for
week ten. How let's see who they're playing that who
the Packers are playing a week ten. It might be
the greatest draft pick you've ever made if they're playing
the Bears in week ten.

Speaker 11 (01:49:29):
Mac has a great microphone, by the way he does.

Speaker 10 (01:49:32):
Oh, don't don't get Mac started on his microphone Monday football.

Speaker 5 (01:49:38):
Oh yes, let it be a shootout.

Speaker 13 (01:49:43):
Jordan Love.

Speaker 10 (01:49:44):
That's that was my new one. I got one of
the s M seven b's floating around. So if any
podcasters wanted a really nice mic, hit me up.

Speaker 1 (01:49:54):
I don't even what is it. What does a good
microphone cost?

Speaker 10 (01:49:57):
Yeah, it helps that I don't have kids.

Speaker 4 (01:50:05):
There's your answer right there.

Speaker 3 (01:50:06):
Yeah yeah, that.

Speaker 1 (01:50:10):
Makes me not want to ever ask that question again.

Speaker 10 (01:50:12):
Well, and to go back to COVID times, right, you know,
telework it all the time. I just hated sounded like
a ass through like my you know, webcam microphone or whatever.
So it's like, you know, if nobody's going to be like, hey, Max,
you want to be on the pod today, I just
like being able to be heard normally because we've all
been on those meetings that's like garble, garble, garble, garble.

Speaker 11 (01:50:33):
Well you don't sound normal. You sound you sound I
mean just like fantastic, That's all I got to say.

Speaker 12 (01:50:38):
And the crickets, the crickets that it's picking up as well,
is fantastic to me.

Speaker 10 (01:50:43):
Sorry, no, no, no, I like it.

Speaker 3 (01:50:45):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (01:50:47):
Sounds like a DJ on a jazz station. Smooth, smooth,
relaxing tone.

Speaker 10 (01:50:53):
We'll play everybody out the bedtime.

Speaker 1 (01:50:56):
With and I believe they caught Mac. I think they
call that timber. You have timber in your voice or
a timber. I don't know if it's a timber or
just timber.

Speaker 10 (01:51:08):
I've also been told I have a face for radio.

Speaker 15 (01:51:11):
So.

Speaker 4 (01:51:16):
Well, you may have a face for radio in your mind,
but you don't have a voice to mind, so you're good.

Speaker 10 (01:51:24):
No. I like the nice equipment. I even got to
run in through a nice thing that's doing some nice
compression and you know, audio work without having to do
the software stuff. So I wanted to sound nice for
you guys than the dozens and dozens of people watching
at home today.

Speaker 1 (01:51:45):
It's currently four, but we appreciate them.

Speaker 4 (01:51:49):
It's one's Greg.

Speaker 1 (01:51:52):
Here, one's Dave.

Speaker 11 (01:51:54):
Oh, I'm logged into so that's.

Speaker 6 (01:51:56):
Free mm hm h.

Speaker 4 (01:52:07):
And maybe Scott's still out there and maybe he went
to bed.

Speaker 11 (01:52:18):
What do you guys think about Joe mixing this year?
I keep hearing rumors that he may possibly not even play.

Speaker 1 (01:52:24):
I don't.

Speaker 11 (01:52:24):
I think that was Chefter that said that, or Cheff Fleur.
I don't know which one it was, but.

Speaker 4 (01:52:31):
I think he comes back.

Speaker 10 (01:52:35):
Has he been picked already?

Speaker 2 (01:52:36):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (01:52:36):
Yeah, there is.

Speaker 10 (01:52:37):
I mean, the worst case scenario, throw him on the
you know high r It didn't. It's not like you.

Speaker 4 (01:52:43):
Early by week so I really won't don't expect him
in any way, shape or form until week seven at least.
I don't think there's any reason to bring him in
for week five just to go on buy. So I
think I think that minimum we see him a week
seven there.

Speaker 5 (01:53:00):
Can you check the Rasball prize package.

Speaker 1 (01:53:05):
List we have because I believe I just won the
back to back Cleveland Browns players.

Speaker 5 (01:53:15):
I don't remember what the what the gift was.

Speaker 1 (01:53:17):
It could have been.

Speaker 5 (01:53:20):
Chewed bazooka Joe or something. I don't remember what it was.

Speaker 4 (01:53:23):
But well, if you follow it up with Joe Flacco
in the thirteenth and then Dante Johnson in the fourteenth,
then you really will win.

Speaker 1 (01:53:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:53:37):
Interesting that you say.

Speaker 3 (01:53:40):
Flacco.

Speaker 5 (01:53:41):
The problem with Flacco is it's the same.

Speaker 1 (01:53:43):
Buy as Baker. Otherwise I would have done it for
the laughs. And I believe when I was looking at
rosters today, I believe I took Joe Flacco and Scott Fishbowl.
I think I have him all the way down at
the bottom of my bench.

Speaker 4 (01:54:00):
I picked him in one league. I see which one
did I pick him in?

Speaker 15 (01:54:03):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:54:04):
Is he fun for fantasy football? Jameis Winston.

Speaker 4 (01:54:08):
I picked him in one of my guillotine leagues, NSC
guillotine leagues, just just to have him weeks.

Speaker 1 (01:54:19):
He's a perfectly show hey o Tani the only thirty
thirty guy ever.

Speaker 3 (01:54:22):
In the NFL.

Speaker 4 (01:54:23):
Flaco is a perfect guy for a guillotine league if
you do one. Yeah, it's because, uh, you know, you
only you only need him for a few weeks really,
and then you can build up your roster from the
wasteland and so he's perfect for that role.

Speaker 15 (01:54:42):
In my mind. Mm hmm.

Speaker 6 (01:54:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:54:56):
And Silva just did what we talked about earlier and
he handcuffed McCaffrey with Brian Robinson in the twelfth.

Speaker 4 (01:55:03):
Very very good play.

Speaker 1 (01:55:06):
Yeah, there are a great deal of true handcuff that
you would absolutely have to go after, and I think
that Robinson is probably one of them.

Speaker 4 (01:55:15):
Well, Chiefs Fans did the same thing with Trey Benson
and James Connor.

Speaker 1 (01:55:19):
He absolutely did.

Speaker 4 (01:55:21):
I like that one even better, but yeah, good good call,
good move.

Speaker 1 (01:55:29):
And Steve just took the running back one for Miami.

Speaker 16 (01:55:33):
So.

Speaker 3 (01:55:35):
Thanks Styles.

Speaker 10 (01:55:37):
I was about say, I was like looking him up
right now, So that explains why I can't find him.

Speaker 1 (01:55:43):
Yeah, if that was no more meant for me than
it was you. But I forgot you drafted it. I
forgot you drafted tonight. Can I say my bad with
a question mark?

Speaker 4 (01:55:53):
Like my bad, my bad, my bad?

Speaker 10 (01:55:59):
Do ball.

Speaker 1 (01:56:02):
Question mark?

Speaker 4 (01:56:04):
There goes your handcuff, Jeff.

Speaker 3 (01:56:06):
I know I was looking to get him here.

Speaker 1 (01:56:09):
It makes if it makes you feel any better if
you listen to serious XAM fantasy radio and you and
you recognize who Jeff Manns is. When Jeff Man screamed
today on the radio, you guys need to stop drafting
what he marks every Woody marks share that I had celebrated,

(01:56:31):
I thought, well, I'm very much happy with that pick.
Now that Jeff Mans told me it was out of
out of just a terrible pick, I'm all about it.
Eric reminded me years ago. Remember he's on the radio
for entertainment. It doesn't necessarily mean he wins every league

(01:56:52):
that he's in.

Speaker 4 (01:56:53):
Now, I've actually competed against him before, and I mean
he's much more entertaining on the radio. Let's just leave
it at the uh. Actually, I don't think he manages
most of his teams.

Speaker 1 (01:57:04):
To be honest with you, I think if you look
at your text, Derek, I think we just found Cruise's burner.

Speaker 5 (01:57:26):
Yeah, he lost power.

Speaker 1 (01:57:29):
He's drafted on his phone, which is what Dave Cruise
our podcast last week. His power went out in the
middle of our podcast. So if Dave's still here, I
want you to you know, sign of life, Dave, because
I think you're actually drafting Spot at this point.

Speaker 4 (01:57:52):
So, speaking of radio personalities, I'll tell you one. He's
he's pretty entertaining on the on the radio. But he's
a really good player, is uh. And I don't know
his real name, but doctor Rodo Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:58:05):
Hm.

Speaker 4 (01:58:06):
I competed against him last year in a pros versus
Joe's and uh. He he's a really good player.

Speaker 3 (01:58:12):
He uh.

Speaker 4 (01:58:14):
He not only just talks the game, he can play.

Speaker 1 (01:58:18):
Right in front of you, Jeff, you know. Yeah. And
I find it interesting that he's only on on the weekends.
Doctor roto Is he doesn't and people always ask why
are you not on? More? Very good advice. He's very
friendly to the people that that that either post online
or that they that call in. He's just kind of

(01:58:39):
seems like a really genuine dude. People were always clamoring
for him to be on serious XM. More often.

Speaker 10 (01:58:49):
It's that that side manner he learned in his uh
Rodo residency.

Speaker 4 (01:58:55):
Yes, there you go, let's go.

Speaker 1 (01:59:08):
So there goes my sunshine stack with Brian Thomas Junior.
There's always Jackson Dart for neighbors. Good news is, Jeff
I don't have to pay Brian Thomas as much because
I took him in the second Neighbors is the guy

(01:59:30):
that's going to be asking for more money. All right,
So here's a question. Well, we're coming to the end.
We'll go left to right. Derek will start with you
and we'll end up at West the first Sunday, right,

(01:59:55):
so it was this Saturday. You've obviously got Texas in
Ohio State should be a fun college for ball game
to watch. It'll also be Corso's last head gear game,
which is kind of sad. Whether you whether you like
to picks or not. It's kind of an end of
an era, which is to me, what a what are
you making? Because you're not leaving the house that Sunday,

(02:00:17):
clearly none of us are. What are you making for chow?
That first Sunday?

Speaker 4 (02:00:22):
At the house, Derek, that's a good call. I gotta
start thinking about this.

Speaker 3 (02:00:28):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (02:00:29):
To me, it's probably gonna be a wings.

Speaker 1 (02:00:32):
Are you're making them or you're buying them? Having them delivered?
Going to pick him up with Kelly going to get them?
What are we doing?

Speaker 4 (02:00:37):
Yeah, no, I'll She'll go to the store to get them,
but I'll make them.

Speaker 1 (02:00:45):
Okay, Jeff, what do we after you pick? What are
you making? What's what's food that first Sunday?

Speaker 3 (02:00:53):
You can't liquor probably some some venison sausage.

Speaker 1 (02:01:01):
You're gonna grill it or you just boil it? Or
what are you just let.

Speaker 3 (02:01:05):
I grill it?

Speaker 5 (02:01:08):
You don't just let it sit out overnight and just
eat it for breakfast.

Speaker 3 (02:01:12):
If it's summer sausage. Depends on how sausage it is.

Speaker 5 (02:01:18):
So what do we makeing Sunday?

Speaker 1 (02:01:20):
Mark for Sunday?

Speaker 16 (02:01:25):
To me, Matt, I didn't hear you. Yeah, okay, Uh,
I'm probably a pizza guy, so uh, probably thin crossed
pizza somewhere, or or maybe a Loumo Nattis deep dish.
I'm not sure, are you?

Speaker 1 (02:01:36):
You know? We can get that delivered now they put
it on dry ice and they'll deliver it. Yeah. Do
you do tavern style thin or are you talking cracker
thin Chicago stock?

Speaker 16 (02:01:48):
You know, as I've gotten older, I I can't eat
the deep dish. I try to like fit in my pants,
so I try to get breakfast. Then but a while
I say screw it and I get the Lumo natties.

Speaker 1 (02:01:59):
So yeah, the problem with the cracker thing is you
eat the whole pizza, whereas in LUs you eat a
piece in the half. And I think it's the calories
probably are the same at the end of the day.
And my wife were huge, huge Chicago fans outside of
the Bears, we love Chicago. We visit at least once
a year. We've been to all. Our favorite place to
go is Chicago Cut right there on the river, okay,

(02:02:22):
the steakhouse. We get treated really really well by the
people that run it, and it's a very nice place
to go. So we love the place.

Speaker 16 (02:02:30):
You stay in the suburbs or do you go downtown?
You see when you visit.

Speaker 1 (02:02:33):
We the last time we stayed at the Intercontinental on
the Mile okay, and then we stay Actually that was
the time before the last time we stayed at a
place it's called I think it's called the Pendry, which
is kind of on the opposite side of that Trump Plaza,
the other side of the river. It's kind of down
like a half alley. The hotel there very nice.

Speaker 5 (02:02:54):
It's an old bank building.

Speaker 1 (02:02:55):
Like they have a vault in the in the lobby actually,
or just off the lobby. Nice place I grew up.

Speaker 16 (02:03:04):
I'm sorry. I grew up in the suburbs, so I
know the bourbs pretty well. Uh there's a there's a
place called Real Time Sports. If you're ever in Elk Grove.
They've got really good food. Uh pizza they have. They
used to have a buffet. I don't know if they
still do. They had pizza, they had chicken, roast, beef, potatoes, vegetables,

(02:03:27):
and was like, now this is pre uh pre pandemic.
So I'm sure it's gone up if they still have it.
But there are a lot of good places Chica. That's
one thing I missed about Chicago is the food. You know, Yeah,
nowhere else like it.

Speaker 1 (02:03:43):
I totally agree. It's a great place to go graze.

Speaker 3 (02:03:45):
For the weekend.

Speaker 16 (02:03:48):
You're almost stuff. Who are you thinking of here? You're
gonna get sniped again if it happens. I'm over it
at this point, and I have two Browns.

Speaker 1 (02:03:58):
So what am I gonna do? All Right, I guess
I'm gonna upout my draft. I'll go with a second quarterback.
I'll go with mister accurate or Jeff, you tell me
what do you think should I go with? I know
what Sky would say. Should I go with my guy
out of Washington State University? Or should I go with
Rock Purty?

Speaker 3 (02:04:19):
Why don't you do both?

Speaker 1 (02:04:25):
I don't know if I want to go that far.
And I have and I have my late round wide
receiver guy that I really really like is sitting there
as well. Let me see what my roster looks like. Yeah,
I probably need one more receiver, So let's.

Speaker 3 (02:04:45):
Go Kyle Williams.

Speaker 5 (02:04:48):
Well, that's what I'd like to do.

Speaker 1 (02:04:50):
But my other guy that's out there from I could
go Washington State, Washington State to end, that couldn't I. Yeah,
let's have some fun, guys, let's get crazy.

Speaker 16 (02:05:09):
I forgot about Kyle Williams.

Speaker 1 (02:05:10):
That's a great pick, and Derek would take him. I
left him, So we'll go to Washington State.

Speaker 16 (02:05:19):
I think he's got a concussion, but I mean, I
hopefully what he made it, But I mean it's awesome.

Speaker 1 (02:05:27):
Everybody thinks that cam Ward went to Miami and he
actually went to a u W Yeah, and just absolutely joyd.

Speaker 2 (02:05:47):
I like, yeah, he was Kim was really recently on
busting with the boys, and I really liked his just
his demeanor.

Speaker 1 (02:06:00):
Yeah. If you see him talk about his dad, they
asked him, well, why are you in the building so early?
And why so lady? He goes Listen, man, I saw
my dad get up and work, and he got up
every morning, never called in sick, never missed a day,
and he had a job he absolutely hated, but it
provided for the families. And so how can I look
myself in the mirror and not get up to go
play football and to learn the game and to be

(02:06:22):
the best I can after what my dad did for
our family. So I think he's got his head on straight.
I don't think he's a normal University of Miami you type, dude.
I think that was probably nil and a way to
get to the NFL, and sure enough it placed him
at the one overall. So I think he's a good
kid with his head on straight.

Speaker 3 (02:06:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:06:41):
And by the way, if you watch him throw, man,
he's got a quick release, he's got good feet, he's
got football smarts, and whoever drafted Calvin Ridley is going
to get about seven thousand targets this year, yeah, which
is silva. Yeah, but he's not going to win because

(02:07:04):
he drafted DJ Moore ahead of o'doon. Say so, I
mean it was fun.

Speaker 3 (02:07:07):
Well it lasted Pepe, poor Pepe.

Speaker 1 (02:07:11):
Yeah, all right, So I wonder out loud if there
is going to be one auto and it is at
the fourteen to two and I'm not going to say
another word. Nobody say a word. We'll see if there's
one auto in this draft.

Speaker 12 (02:07:27):
Well that that that fourteen to two pick. Every time
it rolls round to that area, it's must see TV.
Like I always make it bigger because I just want
to see where we're going.

Speaker 1 (02:07:39):
Don't think that there hasn't been a text thread about
it as well.

Speaker 5 (02:07:50):
In fact, I'll probably just turn.

Speaker 1 (02:07:52):
My wife onto this tomorrow and say, you don't like
fantasy football and what I go through. I'm just going
to ask you to watch.

Speaker 11 (02:07:59):
This program.

Speaker 1 (02:08:01):
And tell me what you notice.

Speaker 4 (02:08:06):
Oh, Will Shipley, do you really want her to watch
the whole program?

Speaker 1 (02:08:10):
I don't want her to watch anything.

Speaker 3 (02:08:14):
No, Nope, nope, no, I think date night should be
in Jacksonville.

Speaker 1 (02:08:24):
There's the guy you texted me last night, Jeff, didn't
you say Rico Daddle looks really nice for you here? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:08:30):
I thought you were gonna take him on surprise.

Speaker 1 (02:08:32):
I think that was the third round when you sent
that to me.

Speaker 3 (02:08:36):
Sh no secrets.

Speaker 1 (02:08:44):
Oh there's skies, tight end Old Darren Waller, all right,
we're moving now. Boys, all right, well, we're gonna We're
gonna probably cut this thing off so people can go
to bed once we hit the end. But from the
folk here at Wrathball, to include Gray and Rudy beat

(02:09:04):
on other folks that we have, I want to tell
you that we are absolutely thrilled that you guys, not
only that you showed interest and signed up and responded
to the love it Jeff responded to the emails, but
that you that you were excited to be part of this.
And I think we're gonna if we get enough interest
that sticks around, we have a fun league that has

(02:09:27):
some waiver wires and some trades. We might even find
a way to have Derek set up some type of
group chatter that we can get in that sleeper. Does
that pretty well. But again from all the folks at Rathball,
we very much appreciate it. We hope you guys continue
to enjoy our content, reach out on our articles. If

(02:09:49):
