make sure they subscribe. Hit the bell, don't miss any
of the action. Now we're in full swing with two
weeks in a row. Quintbox, gentlemen, I think this is
(00:56):
catching on. I believe it was trending on x when
I just checked about three minutes ago. It's very hype
to start that. We have some massive announcements tonight. I'm
gonna kick it off the Styles here in one second.
We also have a fun show of recapping the first
rounds of all of our respective ras Bull draft. I
know a lot of tuning in this evening and after
(01:18):
the fact, are in the res Bull with us baby Cruz,
I like you kind of welcome back to everybody, and
your email out to everyone was very informative. But those
folks that didn't get it or are just not in
the league. But I want to have some more information
about that now that we're underway, so I'll give you
that space here in a second as well. Once again,
(01:38):
we do have ras ball kicked off last night. Monday
is Tuesday. We are I'm in second round, some of
us a from the fourth round. There's two hundred and
forty plus teams. We are rocking and running, all good things.
But without any further ado, I have buried the lead
long enough. Mattie Styles taken away my man, which pot
for us?
Speaker 3 (02:01):
You brother, good, Let's start out again. So I'm no
longer muted. That's the secondary news. The big news is
yesterday and again today, I held a text conversation with
a young man named Robert Lamarco. He happened to tune
into the last week. He wanted to say hello to
(02:24):
everybody he misses us. I told him the same thing.
So maybe Bob will we'll log into one of these
We'll get some comments, no doubt we'll see him on
the Sunday start sit show when we do kick those off.
It was nice to hear from Bob. It was nice
to kind of touch base with him. I told him
that we need his organizational skills because we're kind of
all over the place right now. He actually did not
(02:47):
seem to be super into football right now. He's got
the new marriage and he's got the new the job
that's keeping him busy, so there was very little football chatter.
I tried to dig a little bit out of him,
but we'll little bit out for Bob's football fandom. The
actual tweet that I sent him was the Titans officially
(03:07):
releasing Bob's favorite player of all time, Traylon Burks, who
at one point, if you remember back, Bob dealt a
J Brown for Traylon Burks in fantasy. The Titans did too, Yeah,
they did. The other thing is, once we wrap around
(03:28):
the horn, I am going to do a first time ever,
a first time live. This group is going to make
my fourth round selection in Rasball seven. Let's do it, Okay.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
I love that you guys might be making my second round.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
I'm on the clock potentially if we get this to
the next three hours, I'll be on the clock as well.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
I am. I am officially on the clock. The turn
went at three twelve and four to one. So once
we get around the horn and we finished with Jeff,
Derek and Dave, then we'll go back and I'll recap
the first round. I'll give you a little insight into
my team, my thought process, and then we'll put this
to an old fashioned democratic vote. I love it, man Nice.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
It's exciting, very exciting to check it on all these leaks, Matt,
just real quick, I'm curious. I know this would have
popped Bob's interest. Did you happen to let him know
the absorbent amount of Kicker conversation we had last week,
request for kicker rankings and Jamie joining an all kicker
league and everything.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
Did you let him know that that came up last week?
Speaker 4 (04:33):
No?
Speaker 3 (04:34):
I felt that was in bad taste. I didn't want
him to put his two weeks in at the.
Speaker 5 (04:37):
Job and.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
I kept a Kicker conversation.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
If he would have made me mad, right, if he
would have.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Made a disparaging comment about pairs, or if he would
have tried to hype up Justin Fields, I would have
immediately hit him with you're missing out on the kicker
conversation under understandable.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Sorry, babe, I got like a swap careers to the
boys and they need.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
A six box. So I'm gonna sort up.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
I love it so much awesome, right on, well, super
put on that, Bob. We love you and you're welcome
back anytime. Obviously for anybody unfamiliar, Robert Lomono aka Bobby
two Farms aka Parker Marca was running the show here
for a couple of years and help formulate the full
what you'll see on the screen now any the the
(05:26):
og head coach forever. So we love you, buddy, Welcome
back anytime. Uh right, I'm gonna kick it off, do
you really quick, but save some of the analysis carried
really quick and just let us go without propping names.
Something that you've kind of noticed or you're having fun
with in the ras Bol drafts, So not quite your
recap just yet, we'll go around the horn, but just
(05:48):
something maybe that's different than drafts right this best ball,
it's a four hour draft long term where you're sitting now,
what's something different about ras Bol specifically that you're digging
on right now?
Speaker 3 (06:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (06:00):
What I like the most right now is that rankings
don't really hold true in bestball, So conventional wisdom would
tell you to take certain players in the first or
second round, but guys that are in the third creeping
up to the second, or guys you think we'll go
in the second and going in the third round. So
it's keeping you, keeping me at least on my toes,
not really knowing where it's gonna turn.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Look, Davey Cruz, same question, my man.
Speaker 7 (06:27):
Well, I figure most of the time i'd probably am
going a little bit more running back heavy, but in
a league with three wide receiver spots starting, I hit
a running back early. I had the second pick once
Chase went off the board. It was either Jefferson or
(06:47):
a top back, and I went with the back. But
my next two picks were wide receivers. And we're going
to be coming up on my fourth pick at the
end of this coming round. We just hit the three
four turn.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
So nice, you guys are cooking. Then I'm way I'm
way way behind. I think Derek is too. Derek, same
question to you.
Speaker 5 (07:08):
Yeah, that's I'm behind as well. But yeah, for me,
you know, ras ball is kind of a transition, you know,
to your your home league, your drafts, your your redraft leagues.
You know, we Scott fish Bowl and some of those
other ones tend to be either tight end, premium or
super flex and and so obviously that changes the draft strategy.
But when you get to ras Bull, it's it's more
(07:30):
in line with you know, which your normal home leagues
are and and some of the other traditional type leagues.
So like, for instance, in my case, I mean we
just finished the second round like an hour ago, and
eight of the twelve teams left the second round with
a wide receiver and a running back, so balance eight
(07:53):
of the twelve with one running back and one wide receiver.
So you know, obviously you wouldn't see that in those
Scott Fishball type drafts or again tight end premium super
flex drafts, where you would see a lot of different
strategies going on. This is this is more your traditional strategy.
So it kind of serves as a transition. They said
to me, So some of the other drafts that we're
(08:14):
going to have, uh you know into August and and
rape Povilo season starts nice for us.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
We're we're middle second too, So I think I'm the
snail behind the trail here with all of us. I
just counted up. We had six running backs, six wide
receivers in the first round, so balance there too. But uh,
I think it's it's interesting to see the jumble of
coming around. I'd like to go back around the hole
now and Styles will start with you. Why don't you
(08:44):
give us you guys all we're all in different spots, right,
so I only have one player to report.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
Mine's kind of lame as all.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Uh, Matt's got four coming up second, Dave's about there
as well. So Styles, give us who you've got already,
your three guys where you're drafting from the slot, and
then before we pick your fourth pick, which would be fun,
and I'd love to get people in. If we could
delay a little longer, maybe we can get a couple
of votes. Do you give us some names, have the
people vote to chat. I think that cool, and then
(09:13):
maybe either at the end of the show or in
a little bit, we can actually make that pick for you.
But I'd like everybody to kind of recap the first round.
Just throw twelve names at us across the board, and
maybe your biggest surprise either way, someone that, like Jeff
said earlier, maybe someone that jumped up a round or
two in the first round, or player like, how does
ex player not get drafted in the first round?
Speaker 3 (09:34):
That was surprising to me.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
So styles A kick it off with you give us
your three players where you're drafting from and your first round.
After that, you can give us who's available for your fourth.
We'll throw it over to the chat and then we'll
move on.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
Go for it. Your mine, apparently, is going to be
similar to yours. The first twelve, we're a wide receiver
and running back, and in this order, Chase Jefferson, Bijon Gibbs, Barkley,
Ceedee Lamb A Chain Pooka, I'm on, Ralph Saint Brow,
(10:08):
Ashton Genty, Brian Thomas, and Derrick Henry. So out of
the one to eleven, I was the Brian Thomas drafter.
I actually went back and forth with a Yet you know,
we got a Jags fan on the on the line.
We went back and forth. I talked to the guys
about this. We texted, and I had a really good
(10:29):
shot at Brian Thomas and Malik Neighbors coming back. I
wanted a little bit of more Brian Thomas than I did.
Neighbors with a healthy Karl Lawrence I don't love the
New York Giants quarterback situation. To me, I bought all
the Brian Thomas I could last season, so I'm I'm
(10:50):
still all in. I feel a connection to him. The
turn at twelve one, twelve and two to one went
King Henry and to my surprise is Miko Collins, which
left Elak Neighbors, which means I could get both wide receivers.
But as the panel knows, here did I passed on
(11:11):
the Leak neighbors. We can touch on that in a
little bit as to why I passed on the Elak
Neighbors and who I passed on him for after we
wrap around with everybody's picks. Unless you want my first three,
i'll give them to you, but I think it well,
let's recap the others. I'll come back and give you
my opinion on why I did what I did, and
(11:31):
then well, we can shape the fourth round or I
can hit them all right now, it's up.
Speaker 7 (11:35):
To you deal.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
I'm good with that.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
To wait on there, I'm looking at my draft in
the tron wits. I'll share in a second, but there's
one name, one change in my draft in yours. In
the first round, biggest surprise of who's in or out
of the first round or p pretty standard.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
For me. I was surprised that Genty went as late
as he did at pick ten. I I was concerned
at eleven I was going to have to decide between
Gent and at a wide receiver that I wanted. But
he went at ten, so I'm good. I'm happy with that.
And as much as I think that he's probably going
(12:16):
to be a really good football player in the NFL,
I did not want to start my draft with a
rookie running back that plays for the once time at
one time Oakland Raiders. So Genty was my surprising going late.
King Henry going at the end of the first round
is a little bit of a surprise, but not out
of the discussion. Good Niko two to one was the
(12:43):
biggest surprise for me to start out of the first
thirteen picks. Got it?
Speaker 2 (12:49):
Before we go to Jeff, quick question, if this is
nineteen seventy six and Gent's rookie on the Raiders, I
taken him early.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Seventy six would make him I don't even know who
that is. Nineteen seventy six.
Speaker 7 (13:07):
Mark, you got Mark Van Mark Van Egan and one
hundred year old Pete Banazac scoring the touchdowns.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
So had a little juice to the Raiders back in
the seventies.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
Got it like that. I love that team on the
Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
Hey man, I'll make this shit up. Okay, just buried
in my brain somehow all the time.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
All right, jeff on to you, my man. First round?
Who's your player?
Speaker 3 (13:39):
Biggest prize either way?
Speaker 6 (13:41):
Yeah, So I was fortunate enough to get the first
overall pick. So I debated between Chaser and Jefferson. I
think you can't go wrong with either, but I ended
up going with the triple crown winner Jamar Chase, which
is the right answer in hindsight. And you know, it's
just it's pretty evident that he's very likely to repeat
(14:04):
what he did last year. His same offense. T Higgins
is back, Borrow is still there healthy this time again.
Defense sucks, so they're going to pass a lot like
it's just a great setup for best ball format. So
went would Chase feel really confident about that? With the
three receivers starting, he's my top dog. I feel like,
now I can, you know, be a little have fun
(14:26):
now with my later picks because I know I have
a dominant receiver. But in my first round, seven receivers
went five running backs. The The pick that was the
most surprising for me in my draft was Brian Thomas
not going in the first round. That belonged to Nico Collins,
(14:48):
who went ninth overall before Melik Neighbors and Puka Nakua.
So I was really shocked by that. I wish I
was in the mid round so I could have scooped
up Brian tom because he went and then the the
second round, so buma miss him there, but yeah, and
then also in the second Drake London went before him,
so it's really interesting to see how far Brian Thomas
(15:09):
fell in. Ashon Gent was the fourth running back in
the on the first round of my draft as well.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
I like it.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
I'm gonna pop in here. I got a good friend
and champion Robert Goldman here, who I'm actually in the
league with on the two hundred and forty teams.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
We got paired in the same league, which is fun.
Spoiler alert.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
He went with Christi McCaffrey at one eleven and got
bt Day on the turn with the second pick in
the second round where I'm sitting. That's an absolute monster
start of the ras Bull draft. In my opinion for
Best Ball, Christian McCaffrey's a scary because he might miss
games in Best Ball. When he's out there, he's probably
(15:55):
gonna deliver for you.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
So I like that a lot.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Appreciate you, Robert, Thank you for tuning in with us,
and best of luck. The rest of your draft has
been a lot of fun, awesome.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
Deaf cool. And we got Bill Dino back in the
mix as well.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
Bill.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
We missed you last week on the uh the Old
Reunion tour. Hey, Hey, let's go. We got some children
in the audience.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
Bill.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
We like to keep it clean here on the problem,
as you know. But great to see you back. My
appreciate you always here. Alrighty day, let's go to you.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
You see the comment Bob Goldman as a spoiler for
my first two.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
Picks, Oh thanks, thanks Bob.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
I started them in the opposite way. I went Brian
Thomas at one eleven and I went Christian McCaffrey as
the home run swing two. So yeah, I like it.
We started the same way, we just did it in
opposite opposite order. I like that.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
That big dumper energy man, I'm all about it.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
I uh day got to go to you, uh before
the day before you you uh spill the beans on
your particular league. You have been the man behind the
scenes along with Styles, but you've been kinda dropping the
bus a little bit as well this year. Just just
know something that the listeners should know, the viewers should know,
the drafters should know in ras bull any updates, any
(17:22):
things you want everybody to know while we're working out
the things here in day one or two of the
actual drafts.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
Where you got the people's attention.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
So get a few words on the league itself from
behind the scenes and go ahead and apply with your
your picks in your first round.
Speaker 7 (17:38):
Yeah. As as far as you know, recruiting people and
dealing with the NFFC, it's been pretty good. I mean,
you know, it's not the the scalability and the instantaneous
responses from things, but you know, Jeff Steying over at
n f f C has been great with it. He's
(18:01):
done a whole bunch of work for us. In the beginning,
We've been able to get user information and people that
registered for the tournament pretty regularly, so that was good,
and we had a you know a few hiccups real
early on I heard. I heard somebody on the panel
(18:21):
wasn't able to log in for most yesterday, and you know,
that's regrettable, but I think we were able to. I
think we were able to work out quite a few cakes.
I know Gray reached out to me to get Denny
Carter logged in, and there were a couple of other
guys that were having problems logging in. I know, if
(18:44):
people were using the play NFC app yesterday, they were
doing a reboot, so if people had an older version
of the app, they were fine, but the newest version
of the app was giving us some problems. Today. I've
heard no feedback one way or the other, so kind
of a no news is good news thing. And I
(19:04):
know I've talked to people on and off. It sounds
like the drafts are going along quite nicely. Like I said,
our draft just hit the three four turn and that's
with a couple of time outs, So I think we're
doing pretty good overall. Like I said, nobody's come back
and you know, threatened to Harry carry or anything. You know,
(19:29):
we haven't had anybody at our league offices come in
and try to shoot, So I think we're doing okay.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
Maybe too soon. That's coming from me. Maybe too soon.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
Sure, Dave, give us the ground as.
Speaker 7 (19:53):
Far as as far as the draft I'm in.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
I'm sorry, go ahead and give your first couple of
picks in your first round.
Speaker 7 (20:03):
Yeah, so our our first round is I don't think
you're going to see a lot of differences between the drafts.
In the first round we had, we had. We started
out with Jamar Chase. I had the second pick. I
took Jamier Gibbs. The next two picks were running backs.
It was a total of six running backs, six wide receivers.
(20:23):
So it went Chase Gibbs, Bijon Robinson, Barkley, Justin Jefferson,
jeff Erickson took Ceed Lamb, and Bob Long took Christian McCaffrey,
which is pretty early. But you know, if it pays off,
that's great. Then I'm on Ross, Saint Brown, Devin h Chan,
(20:43):
Uh Austin John Ty, Brian Thomas, and the Lak neighbors.
And I think uh, I think Nico Collins was a
surprise pick in a number of drafts. He went to
one in our league as well.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
Nice it's funny to look at mine here and just
like see the similarities and the disparities. It's cool, awesome
and the biggest surprise for you day before we moved
to Derek.
Speaker 7 (21:11):
As far as it goes, I'm a little surprised that
Puka lasted till pick number fifteen.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
So not a first round er.
Speaker 7 (21:23):
Yeah, you know, but there were there were Yeah. I
mean with with six running backs, there's only so many,
and I mean with six wide receivers, there's only so
many guys that can go in the first round. Puka
going after Nico Collins is a little bit of a surprise.
But maybe people are are are thinking that DeVante Adams
siphons and targets away from.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
I would think so.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
Matt Stafford's been able to feed many over the years.
I don't think that'll be a problem, but I see
where they're coming from. There seems to be no real
competition necessarily with the too much yet I don't think
at least wise. All right, Eric, over to you man,
first fix and your first round.
Speaker 4 (22:09):
Yeah, yeah, pretty much the same.
Speaker 5 (22:11):
I've got a couple notable happenings in the letter part
of the first round, but Jamar Chase went number one
pretty much same as everyone else. Our number two drafter
timed out in the first round and so he autoed
beyond Robinson, which pretty solid ato, which sucked for me
(22:35):
because I had the third pick, but I was between
Robinson and Jamier Gibbs, so I got Jamior Gibbs, which
I'm fine with, but yeah, so I started Jamior Gibbs
at number three. Just Jefferson went four, Barkley lamb eh Chan,
and then Nicole Collins went eight in ours and I've
(22:56):
heard a couple of you know say that pounds in
the first round. He went to number eight for US,
so that was a little bit of surprise. Mon Rats,
Nat Brown nine, neighbors Pukah at eleven, and then no
one's mentioned that he ended.
Speaker 4 (23:11):
Black Bowers went one twelve for US, so we went
we had.
Speaker 5 (23:19):
Seven wide receivers, four running backs and a tight end
in the first round. So I thought, you know, Nico
Collins was you know at eight was early, too early
for me, so that was a surprise. But then also
you know, with black Bowers going at twelve, so I
didn't really think much of it at the time, but
(23:39):
hearing everyone else not mentioning black Bauers in the first round,
so that's that's a little bit of the other.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
Surprise as well.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
Interesting, and everybody else had running back, wide receiver, right,
and there's been no quarterbacks correct in for three? Did
you guys have a back third or fourth round at all?
Speaker 4 (23:58):
Get around?
Speaker 7 (23:59):
We we had that. We had two quarterbacks taken in
the third round.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
Who is that Alan Jackson?
Speaker 7 (24:08):
Yeah, Lamar went three oh seven and Josh Allen went
three twelve.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
And for you, for you dynasty folks and best ballers
who have thirty nine leagues already, h this is not
super flex. So if you're pulling your hair out thinking
why aren't you picking all the quarterbacks yet? This is
super quarter Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:28):
So yeah, there're more super there's no superflex.
Speaker 7 (24:31):
There's no super flex league where Lamar is going three
oh seven.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
No, he doesn't make it out of the first three. Okay, cool,
So over to my league.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
I'll share mine really quick, and then styles, I would
love for you to break down your fourth pick for us. Uh,
and then let's get let's get the pas a little longer.
While we got the folks in our pass. You can
drop us with a couple of names. Your fourth pick,
give us your other three. We're going to Jefferson for
some some in the archives analysis. Drop that into the
chat for the people, Matt, and then we'll come back
(25:05):
and I will make that pick here as we wrap
up a little bit. That's good for you. Okay, my
first round, Bijeon went first. It sounds like Chase went
first for most of all of you so far. Jon
actually went first for us. Chase on second. No surprise there,
sekwon Barkley maakes the top three. I was not that
I'm surprised he's top five or top three in general,
(25:27):
but the way dress were going and I just figured
Jefferson gives would go.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
They didn't say kau on Whitnam three. Jefferson goes four.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
I was at five and ended up with Jimmer Gibbs,
which I'm very happy about. He's my new Aln Kamara.
I'm thrilled about it. Derrick Henry was the sixth player taken.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
Again, no shade on Derrick Henry at all.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
But I think this goes back to what Jefferson said earlier,
which is Derrick Henry is Dereck Henry. But rangs wise,
he'd be tail end of the first round, early second
and pretty much all other drafts and best ball. I'll
get a few forty point games right out of Derrick Henry.
So he goes sixth, Ceedee lamb Aman Ross Saint Brown.
(26:09):
Then Puka go with next three, Davon h Chan at ten,
Christian McCaffrey back in the first round at eleven, and
then Malik Neighbors goes at twelve. Biggest surprise for me,
I guess would be, say Wanner Henry. I'm big on
Christian McCaffrey, so him going in the first round is
not surprising to me. But hearing you guys talk about
(26:29):
Nico Collins and Brian Toms Jr. Not going in the
first round was a bit surprised. So my first round
was pretty standard. I don't think anybody should not have
been a first round, but those guys not in the
first round seemed to be a little surprising. And the
brock Hours updated in my league is middle second round.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
He just got picked.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
So having him in the middle first round, you know,
it's the new Kelsey effect, if you will, so well Brook,
I guess Sojerinly, So see what happens there. Okay, Doki,
now I'm gonna go to you give it your the
three guys you got so far, and let's know, who
you're looking at in general, your team philosophy, all these
kind of things. Is a full PPR, single quarterback, three
(27:11):
wide receiver, two running back league.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
Who's a couple of names you want to drop for us?
Speaker 2 (27:16):
And then just drop that comment in the chat so
we can all keep reviewing it and we'll come back
in the bed. Viewers, we would love for you to
vote on that, give your two cents, and then we'll
come back for a conversation.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
A bit floor is yours. As you mentioned just now
and Dave mentioned a minute ago, this is a three
wide receiver start league. And I believe two flex. Is
that right? Somebody remind me one flex?
Speaker 7 (27:43):
Yep, yep, two flex now, so it's a it's a
one quarterback, two running backs, three wide receiver, a tight end,
and two flex.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
Two flex. Okay. So with that, I have started all
of my raspball drafts by loading up as much as
I could with wide receiver. Last year I went away
from it a little bit and it did not bode well,
and the guys that I did draft, some of them
got injured, uh and I didn't have the depth that
(28:18):
I needed. So this year I started with Brian Thomas junior.
At one eleven, I came back at can you still
hear me, Dave? Everything looks like a reset? You guys
still hear me?
Speaker 7 (28:32):
Yep, I can still hear you your work.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
I came back at two and as I discussed with
the guys, okay, perfect to two. I had considered Elik
Neighbors to have about seven thousand targets with my first
two picks. And I saw Christian McCaffrey just sitting on
the bench waving, and then the waving got more and
(28:56):
more intense, and then it got a little bit sad.
And then and then he held up a picture of
an autographed Christian McCaffrey Carolina Panthers jersey, and then he
held up a couple of signs and said, I was
the number one overall Fantasy player for two years. I'm
staring at the screen and I'm staring at him on
the bench, and it just it was sad, I mean, frankly.
(29:19):
Then I called Derek and I said, Derek, you remember
that one time when we had the opportunity to pick
number two and we ended up with We talked the
other guy into the pick and we ended up with
Christian McCaffrey and he got hurt, and Derek says, who
is this and hung up. So there I was with
McCaffrey right in front of me, and I just couldn't pass.
(29:42):
I couldn't pass on the targets. I couldn't pass on
on who that player is. And he can be a
league winner if he stays healthy. Also what I had
heard on my morning walk, because I'm old and I
don't jog or run. San Francisco forty nine ers shout
out to sky Guasco have on paper the easiest schedule
(30:06):
in the NFL. Number one easiest. So yeah, like the easiest,
and it's really not close, and they're in a division
where they're gonna have to score a couple of points
to win. The wide receivers are a little bit of
a question mark right now. There's no debo Kittle is healthy,
but there's some issue at wide receiver. So all of
(30:28):
that fed into me taking Christian McCaffrey. So now I've
got Brian Thomas Junior, who I love, McCaffrey, who I
want to love. And then the draft wraps all you know,
you have the long wait and it goes all the
way through and my cues not take a huge hit.
Lamar Jackson goes at twelve two to eleven, and I thought, okay,
that helps me because it's a position player is not gone,
(30:51):
and it's a one quarterback league. It wraps all the
way back. Josh Allen goes. I said, that's another ways
to pick. I'm good. I'm good comes all the way
to me. At three eleven, we had already decided as
a group that if I'm going to swing for the fences,
I might as well swing for my heels, big dumper style.
And I still I'm still a little bit shocked that
(31:14):
the player that I took at three eleven was still
on the board. And I don't understand other than he
had a really lackluster season last year, but I think
most of that had to do with his quarterback being injured.
So at three eleven, I took Tyreek Hill, and I figure,
at this point, it's I'm right, all of my chips
(31:37):
are on thirteen black in Vegas. I'm just going to
play roulette until thirteen black hits. With that being said,
I am either going to win this entire tournament after
three picks, or I am going to be eliminated. Going
into week ten, so we'll see what happens, and so
that leads me to some names. I'll type the names
(32:00):
into the comment then we can actually you know what,
I'm going to tell you what my theory was at
this My theory used to be all wide receiver, all
wide receiver early. Now I have a hero running back
if he stays healthy. I've considered after the turn Tyreek
hill I went, and then Jalen Hurts and James Cook went.
(32:21):
I don't care about any of that. That makes my
next pick more difficult because I expected other names to go.
My two names that I'm looking at right now play
for the same offense AFC North. I can either take
the tried and true no longer a wide receiver debug
(32:41):
because he got paid T Higgins, So then I would
have three starting wide receivers with Christian McCaffrey. Or I
can swing for the fences and let Joe Burrow throw
to T. Higgins and Jamar Chase all season. So I
will put those names in. I'm open to others, but
I'm probably not really open to those other names. That's
(33:03):
where I'm at. T Higgins typing it in or Joe
Cool at the four two for me and give us.
Speaker 1 (33:16):
Give us the other three in like parentheses are our
next quote, so.
Speaker 3 (33:19):
We can just kind of remember the three already.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
Yeah, when when you said NFC North, I immediately assumed
you're going Shador Nickubb.
Speaker 3 (33:29):
That threw me off. I'm not gonna lie. Yeah, they
were not the ones. Not yet. I still have a
I have a fifth and a sixth round pick coming up.
All right, so now you want to turn it over
to Jeff. Jeff's going to give you his his deep
analysis of past winners and lineups.
Speaker 6 (33:49):
Yeah, so good food for thought there on your next pick. Now,
I did look at the past four seasons of RAS
Bull and just kind of looked at the top ten
winners and the first place team to really kind of see, like,
what is some of the common trends. I'll start with
(34:10):
last year. What's really interesting is a lot of teams.
It's my answer your question styles a lot of the
teams that finished pretty high weighted on quarterback. The highest
quarterback that I saw was taken in the fourth round
was Lamar Jackson. Other than that, everybody was averaging the
(34:31):
seventh to eighth round for their first quarterback. So Hoofer
thought there a lot of players stacked up on running
backs and receivers as well, and a lot of teams
also invested in rookies they found some value later in
the draft. Now it's easier looking back saying, wow, this
(34:53):
guy called all these players. But there's a lot of rookies.
This was a little bit different. It's not as many receivers.
A lot of the teams year hit big. A lot
of receivers that am now going in the first round,
neighbors BTJ, Xavier Worthy. A lot of these teams were
world late picks, so Bucky Irving, another running back Jaden.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
Daniels, so Bo Nick.
Speaker 6 (35:15):
So it's a lot of these players were you know,
turned out to produce a lot more than what their
draft selection was and then and that kind of was
true even going back from twenty three and twenty two
and twenty one, just quarterback for just taking really late.
The only one I took a quarterback high was the
(35:35):
fourth round with Mahomes in twenty two, But other than that,
it was sixth, in the tenth round, fifth, and then
the seventh and eighth. So it's you, I would say,
wait on quarterback, That's what I'm gonna try this year.
And see if I can strike gold that way. And
then the one thing that I caught that was really
interesting is that at least for last year, that four
(35:59):
of the five teams that finish in the top five
finish with having a top eight tight end, with three
of them having the second or third best tight end.
So I think if you get a really good tight
end early, it's going to give your team an advantage
in this PPR format for best ball, because you know
your top five to six tight ends, there's a huge
(36:21):
drop off. So if you can get one of those
tight ends early. Weight on a quarterback that might be
the best route for success in RASBULL for best ball formats.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
Awesome. I like that.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
I like two things that you said. The quarterback average
was cool.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
Look at we've heard weight on quarterback forever and single quarterback,
but they actually hear the round in which they really
start to pop is good. So if you want to
be ahead of the curve, fifth or six round, you
already got a couple running back rodgers.
Speaker 3 (36:51):
Here is maybe a top tight end.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
Go get your top quarterback if that's what you want,
because they're going to start rolling. If not, then just
know that they're probably going to go and you can
just keep punting them and pick up value elsewhere.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
So I like that nugget.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
And the tight end is great because when the tight
ends turn out, it really.
Speaker 3 (37:12):
Could be a massive sway for your league.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
So you know, they're very risky, even the top dougs
as we know, but when you have one of those
guys pop offs, that's really really informative.
Speaker 3 (37:23):
I like that.
Speaker 2 (37:26):
Any other feedback from somebody else there on Jeff's analysis?
Was there anything else, Jeff, do you wanted to add
from those four years? Was that just last year's.
Speaker 6 (37:34):
Well, yeah, that was over the past four seasons looking
at the top ten, and then I really focused on
last year alone, just because the leagues every year. I
just feel like the NFL game changes offensively a little bit.
There's more receivers now they get love. There's a lot
more quarterback than there ever used to be that are
fantasy relevant. And then now in a best ball you know,
(37:57):
even the fifteenth ranked quarterback could have.
Speaker 4 (38:00):
Big, you know, boom weeks.
Speaker 6 (38:01):
And then it's it's really interesting in the best ball
format sometimes you got to get out of the mindset
of a traditional like redraft, like all this guy's gonna
be gonna be the best player on an average basis
on a weekly one. But you're trying to get guys
that are gonna boom weekend week out. That's going to
kind of pull your team. So you gotta be strategic,
I think with the quarterback play and try to find
(38:22):
some of those late gyms.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
Nice any feedback from the best to use guys.
Speaker 7 (38:34):
I will say, we did have Brock Bowers and Trey
McBride go back to back in our league get at
two to oh at hang On, so two O eight
and two oh nine Bowers and then McBride.
Speaker 5 (38:53):
Yeah, I already mentioned Boers went at won twelve, but
McBride went in the latter part of the second round
in line.
Speaker 7 (39:02):
Yeah, so the guy, the guy that picked Bowers has
Justin Jefferson and the guy that picked McBride has Saquon Barkley.
So that's a pretty good sounding Both of those are good,
good sounding starts.
Speaker 2 (39:18):
I toggled, which I like to do when I'm drafting,
is just kind of good nerve stats, and I just
toggled receiving options to get to the receptions right receptions
from last year and the projected receptions and as I
would imagine it's all top wide receivers, about five six
(39:39):
running backs, and then you know Trey McBride and Bowers
are so far ahead just in receptions, not yard touchdowns,
just reception to the tight ends. And in a full
PPR league, that moved the needle tremendously.
Speaker 7 (39:54):
M hm. Yeah, that's what held both of those guys
down last year. I mean they had tons receptions, tons
of yards. Neither one of them had a ton of touchdowns.
I think Bowers had five and McBride had two. Receiving
in a rushing touchdown.
Speaker 6 (40:09):
Yeah, have a fumble recovery, yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
Yeah, which, which, of course, you know we can. We're
gonna get into.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
All that stuff as we actually start talking football football
here in the next couple episodes.
Speaker 1 (40:18):
But I have to imagine those you know, regress well and.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
Turn those guys, I would imagine, specially McBride, So we'll
see what happened. But as we know, with those top
top tier tight ends, when they hit, they can really
swear your team.
Speaker 7 (40:38):
Yeah, McBride had really tough luck in the in the
red zone. He was I think he was third or
fourth in red zone targets among tight ends. He had
like twenty one red zone targets, he only scored two
touchdowns receiving, So yeah, you gotta think if that keeps up,
he's gonna he's gonna get his.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
And I think I will make me concerned effort last
year to try to do that.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
I think it'll pop, and actually I have I will be.
Speaker 2 (41:06):
I'm on deck in our league in the middle second round,
and right now, two players in my queue are Trade
McBride and Drake London. So if Trade McBride available, if
it's those two guys available, we'll have a conversation offline.
If it's if one of those guys goes, it's the pick.
But if it's Trade McBride, I think for me because
(41:28):
I'm in the middle of the draft, I'm in the
fifth pick right, and then the eighth pick in the
next round, So there's something psychological with me when I'm
in the middle of like, I gotta just kind.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
Of get my dude because they're not I.
Speaker 2 (41:40):
Like doubling up on the on the turn right, make
two picks at the time, so you can really kind
of formulate a position or an identity. When I'm going
it feels like one every fifty picks it's kind of like, eh,
I'll just get the get the still well like and
so probably be bride here. And I don't know if
that's a reacher value at this point. You know, based
on how you guys are talking.
Speaker 3 (42:04):
I have a general question strategyized Jeff. This is information
you probably didn't glean from your research. But do you
feel like you should load up on players that have
a buy after the cut line at week ten or
do you load up on players that have their byes
(42:25):
before the cut line? And the key being that when
you go weeks one through ten where it's best ball,
all of those points count for your playoffs. Your average
helps you when you hit weeks eleven through the final.
So I'm wondering if you guys have looked at any
type of bye weeks, and if you have, you considered
(42:47):
loading up on the front end of the back end.
Speaker 6 (42:51):
I did not look at that, but that's something I
will look into now though.
Speaker 3 (42:55):
I think.
Speaker 6 (43:00):
I think the bye week thing is so interesting. It
just depends on how your team is constructed early on.
Maybe you want to try to balance it out. But
I'd have to look at the bye weeks for all
teams because there's certain offenses that I want to target
in Bestball, So I'd want to look at those teams
bye weeks and then make and formulate a decision based
on that.
Speaker 3 (43:20):
Yeah, it's really interesting.
Speaker 2 (43:21):
Last night I did look at that, So Jamier Gibbs
my only pick so far bye week Week eight, And
if I just scroll down again, I can toggle here
with the eighth round bye weeks. But guess who has
an eighth round bye week or eight week. Trey McBride
(43:43):
certainly does, which is not a big deal for redraft,
definitely don't care in Dynasty, horrendous for Best Ball because
you're just new two positions one week and again all
that matters, right, Like he gets a zero, but an
extra zero in Best Ball because he's given a bench opportunity.
Kyle Williams, Jackson Smith, Jigbah, Kenneth Walker, Marvin Harris, and
(44:07):
James Connor, DeVante Adams, Jamison Williams. It's a lot of
awesome fantasy opportunity in week eight that I'm maybe forfeiting
intentionally because of the bye week that I think is
my important and uh fastball more than.
Speaker 5 (44:21):
You know that, and that brings up a good a
good discussion point though, with someone like McBride who has
a bye week in eight and and a league where
tight ends, you know, are a little bit a little
bit more valuable, you know, high volume tight ends. Anyway,
do you draft a second tight end a little earlier
on a different bye week so you take advantage of
(44:42):
of that week eight by week from hell and get
another tight end to fill in there to get those
extra points, and then you can always use that, you know,
if that tight end turns out to be another high
volume tight end.
Speaker 4 (44:55):
You can use them in the flats. So like there's
a there's a strategy there.
Speaker 2 (45:02):
I like, one guy we brought up I'm not going
to mention Kyle Pitt'll let Jeff do that, but one
guy we brought up on a recent episode was zach Ertz,
who doesn't have a bye week until twelve, which is
after cut line. But then I'm riding tried Mtray McBride
at that point anyway, So to Matt's point, right, that's
(45:23):
a great kind of like I don't know, it's behind
the curtain of like the extra zen that goes on
in these drafts and Best Ball, like it's just different
and ras Bull specifically with Better Ball which I think
we should get deeper into that philosophy of what that
actually means for people listening in. But that matters more
when you're setting rosters in the second half, you know,
(45:43):
in our limited fab budget, which we have really covered
on the air.
Speaker 1 (45:46):
Either Like, there's a lot of things.
Speaker 2 (45:47):
About this league that's really unique, and I love it
because it makes it so much more intentional for how
to draft. And I really appreciate that about how particular
things are. Okay, Doky, I've got two hours and twenty
(46:08):
two minutes at longest to wait out this trade McBride situation.
Uh do you guys think it would be catastrophic aka
el stupido for me to start my draft with two
players of the week eight by week knowing who they
are a top five back across the board or and
(46:28):
Trey Bride? Is that like a bro what you're doing?
Or like hey man, don't worry about it. You got
eight weeks to get your shit together.
Speaker 3 (46:37):
I think those two players are in a league of
their own where you're picking. And I think that you
unless you love Drake London, which means you trust to
Washington Husky at quarterback and a Trojan receiver yep. Yeah,
the entire used to be Pack ten. So Derek, right,
(47:01):
Derek's about in the same position as you are, draft wise, right,
he was one three. I believe you're one four. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (47:14):
Yeah, Well, I'll give you my answer to your question.
Sky You're you're not crazy, because that's exactly what I did,
and the way I justified it is, I've got two
Tier one players at their position, and okay, and I
will I will pay attention to that week eight by
(47:35):
later in the draft to make sure that I can
I can fill that respectfully. But the rest of the time,
I've got two of the top players in there in
their position, top tier in my first two picks. I
can't pass that up for you know it. I didn't
(47:55):
have a chance for London. He went at two six
in mind, but he was also the ninth.
Speaker 4 (48:05):
Wide receiver off the board.
Speaker 5 (48:08):
So I can get someone you know, in the third
or even the fourth round, someone like Mike Evans or
you know, someone of that ilk and they'll do a
respectable job that you know, as as London will in
the third or fourth round for instance.
Speaker 4 (48:27):
And I still have you know.
Speaker 5 (48:30):
Arguably the top two tight end on my team with
arguably the top one or two running backs.
Speaker 4 (48:37):
So no, I don't think it's crazy at all.
Speaker 3 (48:40):
And in theory, right you mentioned it Trey McBride's knock
on wood that he doesn't get injured. He plays for
you every week except two or except one right the
bye week, and you can go cherry pick throughout the
draft when you want right, is Poston Loveland available? When
you go draft? Is Tyler Warren? Is Evan Ingram? You
go draft where you're like, Okay, I'm kind of loaded
(49:02):
at wide receiver. I don't like the running backs here,
but here's my opportunity to take a high volume Evan
Ingram at the joker position for Denver who. By the way,
not only am I blocking the next three guys from
taking Evan Ingram, but I've got Evan Ingram covering the
week eight by and by the way, if Evan Ingram
(49:22):
goes back to being Evan Ingram, you've also covered your flex.
The year I finished the best finishing I was. I
finished ninth overall, I had a stack of purty you
can kittle when they all had their great years. My
running back stayed healthy and every wide receiver I selected hit,
(49:44):
But I kept playing a second tight end, Evan Ingram
at flex because he was better in this PPR format
than other players that I had. I had two running backs,
they survived the season. I had to fill in during
by week they got a couple of points. But I
truly believe you have to load up on wide receivers.
You need an elite tight end, and in this format
(50:06):
that means top eight. I think, Jeff you mentioned you
want a top eight tight end. So when it gets
to five to six have been drafted, start looking at
your tight end. And in between you just load up
on wide receivers and offenses that are going to throw
the football Bengals over the Ravens.
Speaker 5 (50:26):
Right.
Speaker 3 (50:27):
For wide receivers, you don't want the Bills wide receivers early.
You want high Wall, you want Ceedee Lamb, you want
George Pickens, you want Dak Prescott. Those are the stacks
that will win you in raswell.
Speaker 5 (50:38):
Yeah, and just to add one extra point the way
I look at it both with Gibbs and McBride, but
we'll just talk with Bride for easy.
Speaker 4 (50:46):
Easy path. You know, if I can plug a tight.
Speaker 5 (50:48):
End there for week eight, it gets me fifty of
what McBride averages per week fifty. So if McBride every
other week that he's in there and he he gets
even more than the league average after five weeks, I'm
playing with house money. So even if if it's one
(51:09):
week and I only get half from the tight end
that I'm expecting, you know, I'm gonna I'm gonna take that.
I'm going to be making money on it, you know,
by the time we get to the playoff weeks.
Speaker 4 (51:20):
So I'm really I'm not all that concerned about it,
to be honest, but but I will.
Speaker 5 (51:25):
It will fake figure into my draft strategy later on,
for sure.
Speaker 3 (51:29):
I like that.
Speaker 2 (51:30):
And as Matt said last week, I'll condone gambling I'm
playing with house money. But also as Matt said, we
don't condone not condoning playing with house money. You know
what I'm saying, So gamble responsibly. Vegas is not a sponsor.
Just for the record, Dave, you have been kicking Titus
(51:51):
around for us in the off season, super selfish and
maybe I should just ask you off the air, but
I'm not going to because this is fun. Throw me
two names that are like what the hell draft picks
after the tenth round that I consider, or anybody else
who's taking Lorda, you know, Kittle, McBride, Bowers, any of
(52:13):
these top dogs early and having the battle with Bye.
Speaker 3 (52:17):
Week I think.
Speaker 7 (52:22):
I think if you're drafting right now, I think one
of the biggest bargains out there at tight end is
Jake Ferguson. You know, as long to me, as long
as as Prescott stays healthy, I think Jake Ferguson's gonna
bounce back in a big way this year. He just
signed a big contract too, so obviously the Cowboys believe
to believe in him. I think he's going in the
(52:44):
mid teens. Is at tight ends, maybe the early teens,
but still, I think he's potentially a top ten guy
that you can get lighton drafts.
Speaker 3 (52:54):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (52:54):
That's a week ten buye with the Week eight bye.
Speaker 3 (52:57):
Love it.
Speaker 2 (52:58):
Ducer Craft coming back as well. It's a week five
by that would work also, I love it. Gentlemen, Jeff,
Let's circle back to you really quick. Any other deep
dive analysis or anything else with the last handfuls of
RAS bowls and any other nuggets for our drafters everybody else. Again,
I'm literally one and a half rounds into this. Styles
(53:18):
and Company are hitting round four. We're going to be
all over the map here for the next couple of
weeks draft and slow through this for twenty rounds folks.
So we'll be covering this off and on for the
rest of the summer. But Jeff, any other nuggets that
we can keep in our back pocket while we're drafting.
Speaker 6 (53:34):
Yeah, So a few players that I at least for
I didn't go this far back, but at least for
last season. Names that I saw on repeat for these
top ten teams. George Kittle, BTJ Neighbors, Mike Evans, Chase Brown.
Speaker 3 (53:51):
So look for the rookies.
Speaker 6 (53:55):
I think those are where your best value is because
you'll get them and again positions they're gonna outperform.
Speaker 7 (54:01):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (54:02):
And then you know a player like Mike Evans who's
gonna boom. You try to find those receivers. A guy
that kind of fits this, though it's also a rookie
that might blow up. Trey Harris. I know, I look
at him in Dinasty a little bit though, but he's
a guy that could be, you know, boom for Justin
Herbert over in La.
Speaker 3 (54:21):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (54:22):
Somebody needs to be Mike Williams because Mike Williams couldn't be.
Mike Williams super said, all.
Speaker 3 (54:27):
Right, I dig it.
Speaker 2 (54:29):
All right, anybody on the chat that wants to pop
off real quick with any questions, draft essions, ras bull questions,
you want to share ross or whatever, Let's do that
in the next about five minutes. Once again, gentlemen, you blink.
You have a couple of conversations. It's been an hour, unbelievably.
How we go through time here on the Raswell Fantasy
foot Show.
Speaker 1 (54:49):
A turn back to you here quick.
Speaker 2 (54:51):
You mentioned we talked to Bob and again Bob, we lady,
we miss you.
Speaker 1 (54:55):
You in the Sunday Lives start sixth show. We're a
month away.
Speaker 2 (54:58):
But Matt, could you let him know how much fun
we actually have and what we do Sunday printings.
Speaker 3 (55:04):
It depends. There's been episodes where Bob and I have
verbally fifth fought over justin fields. There have been there
has been a Woodford Reserve shot taking event that happened
I believe two years ago that happened and that was
at eight in the morning, I believe Central time. We
(55:25):
always you know what I like to say, and you
know we had the discussion about pairs. Bob, the former host,
had never eaten a pear in his life, and he
was in his what his mid to late thirties. I
don't know. He's just creating all all Bob Eats is
creating and chicken breast. He's just in rice. He's just ripped.
I guess. We talked a lot about gingers and how
(55:50):
they're either the best thing in the world or the worst. Right,
we don't know if they're the devil. We have to
wait for Bob to confirm. Maybe he might be on
a little bit of a darkness retreat with other gingers.
I don't know. We're not gonna I don't ask those questions.
We say come for the analysis and stay for the fun.
You can read anything on the internet about any topic,
(56:12):
to include all of our fun football stuff. It really
comes down to where are you enjoying your time being spent.
I think you have a good time with us, and
we are certainly not chalk as it comes to football
talk on Sunday morning. We are not chalk. And we
still have a vote to make before we sign off,
(56:32):
because I have a pick to make before I go
to bed. Yes, we do.
Speaker 1 (56:36):
I want to make sure that we get that recod before.
Speaker 2 (56:38):
You do that we do all the we do all
the behind the scenes things so we can pay the
bills properly, and we'll wrap up with that. I do
want to also just verbally welcome and share we do
have an additional writer and we might have another one
come season time on the program yet on the air,
but you will see his words five row on Football
(56:59):
rest ball dot com. His name is keV and many
of you probably had read his articles on the baseball side.
He's been a part of the baseball team at rasball
for a while. He decided to jump ship and come
join us as well. So much like our boy Favrette,
he is double dipping and we appreciate that.
Speaker 3 (57:17):
We're all baseball heads too.
Speaker 2 (57:18):
Now Bob's gone, we can appreciate baseball properly here on
the football side.
Speaker 1 (57:23):
So keV, welcome in, but we appreciate you.
Speaker 2 (57:26):
Roto surgeon at Look at Bob Goldman just shouting out
everybody but himself. That's a good clubhouse guy. That's what
we need in the organization. Absolutely phenomenal team membership there.
Shout out all Poto Surge. You can go check them
out Football dot rasball dot com. First article drop today
it was the top players to fade out of the
(57:48):
top one hundred. We talk all the time about the
players we love. That's a lot of fun when you're drafting.
Arguably more important to know the players to fade so
you're not drafting grenades to your team. So go check
out his article and everybody else at football dot rasball
dot com and please make sure you leave the comment
and everybody so welcome him to the squad in the
(58:09):
football side. So again shout out to keV and the
rest of our team.
Speaker 3 (58:13):
Again.
Speaker 2 (58:14):
You find everything football related at football dot rasball dot com.
Fantasy is role and the tools are getting updated. Our
rankings are up. Rasboll is underway. We have two listener
leagues and we have not even mentioned this week because
we've been talking to rasboll, which is the big listener league.
Speaker 3 (58:30):
But we have a Guillotine league.
Speaker 2 (58:32):
With some spots left as well, and we also have
a listener league if you're interested, so feel free to
drop in the comments if you'd like to be a
part of that. If not, we'll bring it up on
the next couple of weeks as well. Those draft dates
are going to be in August, so we do have
some time there everything on x is at Rasball NFL
and of course you can subscribe right here to the
YouTube channel at the Rasbell Fantasy Football Show and download
(58:54):
the podcast. Also, while you're on the move, Maddie, give
us your team again and we will go around the
horn and let's get your picks and let's get that
pick in.
Speaker 3 (59:05):
They started wide receiver Brian Thomas Junior at one eleven.
I figured this was the safest way to move forward.
I would take Malik Neighbors at two oh two, but
that I passed on Neighbors. I passed on Neighbors for
Christian McCaffrey at two oh two. Neighbors went just after that,
So now I have Brand Thomas Junior Christian McCaffrey wrapped
(59:27):
all the way back down to three eleven. Tyreek Hill
was on the board, so I took Tyreek Kill. The
turn went Jalen Hurts and James Cook, which did not
affect me. So at this point I am now opening
it up for a team vote. I will after you vote,
I will tell you what my pick is and what
(59:48):
kind of solidified my pick for tonight. The after being
on the horn for an hour with you guys, my
decision was made during this during our rant. So you
guys is a sky. You take the vote count and
let's see what it comes up as deal. Let's go Jeff,
you're a first buddy.
Speaker 6 (01:00:07):
I'm gonna go T Higgins. Do you want any raption
on behind that or just just the answer?
Speaker 3 (01:00:17):
Do you see the answer? David?
Speaker 7 (01:00:21):
Yeah, I'm a I'm a long time wait on the
quarterback guy in in one quarterback league. So I Burrow
is certainly attractive, and he could certainly put up huge numbers.
I just think it's a little bit too early for
him in the fourth round. I'm if these are the
two guys, I'm I'm choosing T. Higgins.
Speaker 3 (01:00:40):
Well, that's that's one for Higgins and then one for Higgins.
All right, what about Derek.
Speaker 5 (01:00:49):
Yeah, quick quiz which which NFL quarterback? Which is the
only NFL quarterback last year that could support two top
ten targeted wide receivers? That would be Joe Burrow so
and and both of his top receivers are happy. Now
(01:01:09):
I'm going Joe Burrow.
Speaker 3 (01:01:12):
One. That's one for Burrow. All right, Skuy, If you
go Burrow, I have to break the tie. I love that.
Speaker 1 (01:01:20):
I'm gonna leave it easy on you. I'm gonna go
with T Higgey. First of all, I've been hashtag TG
for like five years.
Speaker 3 (01:01:29):
I'm gonna stick with it.
Speaker 2 (01:01:30):
If you happen to have Jamar Chase somehow, and you
want to know this early with Burrow with the stack,
I'm all in. I'm gonna go with Jeff's analysis. I
love me some numbers, I love me some history. I
don't think Burrow's gonna last for you, unfortunately, but there's
a lot of other names that could have some big names.
And because it's best ball Matt, there's guys like I
(01:01:54):
don't know, Bryce Young, who's gonna throw out like four
top five finishes this year because that time goes so
Burrows better than him, obviously, But I'm gonna go with T.
Higgins for consistency at wide receiver, and your wide receiver
situation is is massive there, so I'd rather have that
on the quarterback A sick with Tea Higgey also.
Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
All right, So the two things. That one was what
Jeff brought up about history seventh round quarterback drafts, which
is where I had Brock Purty and Matthew Stafford back
to back. I was drafting out of the I believe
it was in the middle of the of the draft
board that year, not at the not at the polls,
(01:02:38):
and I went back to back Purty and Stafford, and
they just chucked the ball all over the place, high percentage,
a lot of completions, lots of yak for the receivers.
The second thing, and this is this is where Derek's
big brain comes in. When I was looking at Tyreek
or T Higgins, I was talking myself in and out
(01:02:59):
of who is going to be drafted, who is going
to be picked? And Derek said, you're looking at T Higgins,
You're looking at Tyreek Hill. One of those players will
absolutely not be available after you pick at three to eleven. Person.
Which player is that, I said, it's Tyreek. You've made
your decision, drafted Tyreke. The draft didn't go the way
(01:03:21):
I thought. With Hurts and Cook going next. That leaves
me with the two receivers that I wanted that I
was arguing with myself back and forth. I'm going with
T Higgins to pair with Brian Thomas Junior and Tyreek Hill.
And I will say this to Derek's comment. One of
(01:03:43):
those players that I had in mind, Higgins or Borrow.
Only one of them is guaranteed to not make it
back to me. I believe that's T Higgins. In a
one quarterback league, there is an outside chance that in
the twenty picks after I take T. Higgins that Joe
Burrow good make it back to me. I don't think
he will, but I think that there's an opportunity whereas T.
(01:04:07):
Higgins would go in the next two to three picks
if I don't draft it.
Speaker 7 (01:04:11):
So, Matt, how many quarterbacks are off the board in
your league right now?
Speaker 3 (01:04:16):
The top four, the four running quarterbacks are off the board.
Speaker 7 (01:04:20):
Okay, Okay, I was gonna say, yeah, so.
Speaker 3 (01:04:26):
Good. Oh, the likelihood the borough being there is slim
to none, but there is there is a less than
one percent chance T Higgins makes it through twenty picks.
Speaker 2 (01:04:38):
Well take it from a champion. He's going Higgins as well.
I'd listen, man, T Higgy, it is. I like it, Matt.
Speaker 3 (01:04:48):
That was fun.
Speaker 2 (01:04:49):
We're gonna have more picks on air if I can
get a pick in You're in from.
Speaker 3 (01:04:54):
My boy Sanchez.
Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
I would have badly make a pick with boys right
now too, but I gotta wait.
Speaker 3 (01:05:00):
There it is. Proof is in the pudding. I like it.
Speaker 2 (01:05:04):
Lock it in my man, all right, Deeke, roll us
out for Mat, for Jeff, for Dave, for Derek, for
Ben down under and our boy keV and Bob Lamarco.
What the hell we appreciate y'all here at the Rasbull
Fantasy Football Show.
Speaker 1 (01:05:23):
I'm your host, Sky Guasco. We'll catch you next week
on a Tuesday. I'll be safe.
Speaker 2 (01:05:28):

up soon. Have a good night, everybody,
