been in Baseball mode where shift Gears of Football mode.
Dynasty is in full swings. You might have thought we
were Terry McLaurin because we've also been absent to camp,
(00:35):
but we have showed up. We've worked out negotiations with
upper management. We are all back in the hot seat
for a Fire twenty twenty five and we're excited to
have you back with us. I'm your host sky Guasco.
You can find me on the xbox at sky Guosco.
Join by the whole squad. Here. We got Mass Styles
at Styles zero eight, Davy Cruz at Cruiser one two eight,
(00:56):
Jeff Keys are at Jefferson Underscore Underscore two to one,
and Derek don't call me far Favret at Derek Underscore Favrett.
Very nice to be back in the saddle, everybody. You
can find all things Rasball at Rasball NFL. We have
all your set all season long, draft season, offseason, draft day,
(01:16):
and throughout the fantasy playoffs. Of course, find everything right
here on the YouTube channel as well Fantasy YouTube channel
and download the podcast. For those of you on the road,
I get most of my raspball content that I don't
post be a podcast constantly on the go. I recommend
you do the same thing as well, and of course
your source for all information rasball for baseball and or
(01:40):
football rasball dot com for this side of the fence.
It's football dot rasball dot com. First night back in
many months. We're very excited to be with you. We
have a ton of announcements. We have some exciting fanfare
that y'all can be participant in this year, so it
makes you stay tuned to that. We all have a
handful announcements. We're gonna go on horn reintroduce ourselves very
(02:02):
quickly to everybody. You can find all the articles from
all of our great writers and all of our tools.
Updated rankings are available right now for free at football
dot rasball dot com. Haven't had an intro in a while.
That's a lot, Mattie stops. I'm gonna kick it off
with you, man. Great to be back. How are we feeling.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
We're feeling good, as Gray has given us each a
little bit of guaranteed money which got us to sign
a contract. And here we are.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Lots of incentives, a lot of incentives in those deals.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Yeah, a lot of mostly steak dinners, mostly bourbon things
of that nature. So we're getting our we're getting our
fair share on the back end we did. We still
do not have anybody on the team that has raspball stock,
which is disappointing, but you have to concede at some
point to be able to get all the guaranteed money.
So yeah, we're ready to go. I see former RAS
(02:57):
Bowl champion Robert Goldman has checked in. Good to see Bob,
and we're gonna we're gonna talk about not only his
tournament that he has he has brought home the trophy,
but we're gonna talk about some other tournaments today. So
for without further ado, I'm gonna turn it over to
Dave Cruz for the latest head count on RAS Boll
seven and with what our goal is before we cut
(03:19):
off our entrance sometime tomorrow. We haven't decided the exact time.
And look at who's there. You can always count Good
to see Jamis. Somebody write that name down. We're gonna
have to make sure he's in a league real soon.
Jamie hanging around, We've got a surprise for you during
the show. All right, Dave over to you. I'm gonna
mute it up since my laptop has probably giving you
(03:42):
guys some feedback, so I'm gonnamute up and turn it
over to you.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Okay. Well, we're gonna be starting up drafts for RAS
Bowl seven on Monday, as Matt said, we're gonna be
cutting off registrations tomorrow. As of this morning, we got
a head count from Jeff Stein at NFC to twenty one.
(04:07):
And I know I signed up one guy today and
I'm after another one tonight. So we're gonna get it.
We're gonna get it in to a point where we've
got at least nineteen divisions, He Dave, what did we have?
Speaker 2 (04:24):
We woke up today, we were seven short. You've signed
one up, I've signed one up, and you've got a third,
So that should put us at about four remaining to
get to a full nineteen division. So tell your friends,
tell your family, tell your enemies. That's the way I
look at it.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
I love that rasboll is on its way, and Matt,
can you remind everybody when the Rasbull drafts are taking place,
they will start.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
I believe it's noon eastern July twenty Monday, July twenty eighth.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Man, that.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yeah on the NFC platform.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
Excellent.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
We love Jeff Stein and Greg Ambrosious for hosting our
tournament for free.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Again.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
We appreciate the guys over at the.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
NFFC YEP And if anybody needs help navigating or anything
like that, reach out to me, reach out to Matt.
We'll be glad to help you.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Once against Cruiser one two eight on x or Styles
zero eight and Jeff will kick it down to you.
My man, give us an update on the Dynasty things,
because all the everybody right now we're getting excited about
redraft right around the corner, but Dynasty drafts, debbie leagues,
rookie leagues are underway already. Question like, there's a lot
(05:48):
of Dynasty flowing going on right now already.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (05:54):
It never ends when you when you're doing with dealing
with rookies in Dynasty. So that's why I love Dynasty.
It's year round. Got to stay with the latest the news, information, drafts,
pre draft now, training camp right around the corner. Some
I'm already starting now so monitoring those hopefully no injuries.
You hate to see injuries at this time early in
the year, so monitoring everyone's health. Done a few rookie
(06:17):
drafts already a lot of guys I like. That'll help
you in redraft as well as dynasty. I also want
to shout out that we will be doing a PPR
redraft for our listeners, so I'll be commissioning that league.
So I'll be lookout for tweets and more information to
come with those. But in terms of dynasty, there's just
(06:38):
a lot to like with this draft class.
Speaker 6 (06:40):
With the rookies.
Speaker 5 (06:42):
Cam Ward already stands out to me. With the unfortunate
news of Will Levis, we already knew he's gonna be
the starter, but he's definitely the starter now with Levis
being on the IR for the season with the right
shoulder injury. So I think cam Ward Is should be
a top three pitch. I know he went later in
draft and some single quarterback leads and in super flex,
(07:04):
but if you got him later in the first you
may have gotten a steal with him.
Speaker 6 (07:08):
Uh, So I do like his long term value and
mister Derek, what you got for us there?
Speaker 4 (07:15):
Yeah, Well, first of all, no one's commented yet on
my Gray all Bright specs here that I pulled out
homage to the Big Boss on our first first podcast tonight.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
So that is that a Browns right off the bat,
that might be and like, look at me, boss, look
at me, that's the name.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
Well, you know, Beaton's gonna eventually move on, and you
know someone's got to take that spot.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
So maybe maybe okay, working on moving up the ladder
already in spring training. I like to see that.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
That's right, that's right. So yeah, just finished the Scott
Fish Bowl Draft and and now I'm setting my sights
on my favorite formats, the Guillotine Leagus drafts will be
coming up. Well we'll talk about ours here a little
bit later, but looking forward to it.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Excellent. I like that and shout out Scott Fish. Shout
out so many people running great league or charity specifically.
Of course, millions of leagues happen every single fantasy football year,
but many of these that are big ones that are
dedicated to charity and things for great causes is really awesome.
So Scott Fish, everything he does in the industry, and
everybody participating in that draft, and many others as well,
(08:24):
so appreciate that. All right, I want to give a
shout to also are been in Australia down Under. Of
course it's tomorrow morning, tomorrow afternoon probably for him, so
he's out on the podcast very often. He'll be back
on Sunday Lives of course when he can make it.
But he's also doing a lot in the Dynasty front
behind the scenes, and also co commissioning our listener league.
(08:47):
How any further ado, I will get into that and
we'll go back around horn here in a second with
further announcements, but I will just kind of drop the
ball and proceed on what Jeff had alluded to earlier. Now,
we do have a few listener leagues this season. The
main one that we've been doing for a while is
RAS Bowl. Of course, Matt and Dave talked about that
you want more information, you want to you want to
(09:08):
participate that, Please get ahold of both of them. Go
onto our website, get more information and get into that
as soon as possible. Drafts are coming up soon. We
also have a twelve team PPR. Full PPRS is the
only setting that matters full PPR twelve team. If I
do Mouth and Rasball, we have six people already in
(09:30):
it with us. That means six more slots are available
for the twelve team redraft single Quarterback League. If you
can join that, there is a buy in. We'll save
that for later on. There is a buy in, we
will have a winner and we do that, but if
you want to participate in that, please keep a comment
right here in YouTube. We'll have kind of a first
(09:50):
DIBs from the YouTube channel coming back, and then we
will be going through the wet and people hitting us
one x. So those of you in the chat right now,
if you'd like to be a part of that and
get some more information us, hit us up with it.
If you'd like, let's do a hashtag styles that's s
T i l e S. If you're interested in the
draft hashtag styles in the comment section our second league.
(10:12):
Derek mentioned it earlier. Also my favorite format at this
point for fantasy football, the Guillotine League. If you've not
played guillotine yet, we've mentioned every single season. We finally
are doing one here at ras Bull. It's a ton
of fun. It is dangerous, it's a little spicy, it
is unpredictable, and it's very challenging. It is super super fun.
(10:34):
Though the lowest team each week, the lowest scoring team
in the entire league gets eliminated. That roster of players
gets dumped into the free agent player pool for the
rest of the league to choose from during that So
if and we don't hext anybody but a top wide
receiver as a bogus week and that team is knocked out,
(10:54):
that top wide receiver will be a free agent next
week in pools for fab like everybody else, really really
fun topic, really really fun draft. It is super flex plus,
so there's a lot of fun there, so make sure
you get involved there as well. If you'd like to
be in touch with that one, we can do a
let's do a hashtag cruise on that one. That's cr
(11:16):
e w S, hashtag crews for Dynasty, hashtag styles for
the PPR. Looks like we already have one in for
the PPR league. I like to stop very.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
Much, Bob Goldman. Bob Goldman's shown us that in the
rig and for the re Draft league.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
That's right, and Bob, thank you. It's a great question
both of those. So Ras Bowl is on NFC and
the other two leagues will be on Sleeper. We have
friends everywhere, So RAS Bowl will be on NFC, the
other two will be on Sleeper and we'll pass out
those links to everybody and get that sorted out. So
if you're interested to go ahead again, that styles for
(11:52):
the PPR League, Cruise for the Guillotine League. Lots of
fun there for draft nights. I know a lot of
people are questioned. It'll be within the previous week or
two late August before the season when draft season goes down,
so we'd like to see that. Jamie will message you
personally on the binds. It's between about ten and twenty
(12:14):
twenty five dollars. We're trying to keep it light so
we can have a lot of people to participate, but
enough to where people take it seriously. It's ten dollars
for the Guillotine League and it's twenty five for the
EPR League. All right, all right, Marrio Sky, can I
can I make a suggestion? Please?
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Can we please go through Derek to issue Jamie the
first non rasball writer spot in the Guillotine League. Has
Jamie earned it? I think he has.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
Absolutely, Jamie Jammy has a slot. I'm down to do
that right now. Can we go around's thumbs up? Thumbs
down for Jamie in the league. Ready vote Oh a
five bar right off the bat, get in there, get
him in there. Done, five slots left, folks, Look.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
No guillotine has eighteen spot he wants all right, then
left after Joe eleven left.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Love it awesome, counting it down. I like it all right.
Let's see, we've announced the leagues, we've announced ras Bull,
we've got the sign ups rolling. We are feeling good
to go with that. I kind of stuck at guillotine, Jamie.
We like. That's good news for us. That's good chatter.
We like that because if you suck at guillotine, that
(13:41):
moves us up another week. So that's totally fine. Man,
No worries there it.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
Love it when you want when you try something new.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
Yeah, I like it, man, I like it all right.
And again, we'll get those draft dates out once we
have a full league, so we'll send an email to you.
We want to make sure we get your email address
and get a lot locked up. So make sure to
reach out to somebody and let's get that dialed in
here through Derek on X if that's best for you, Derek.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
Yeah, porksure for me. Yeah, reach out to me Jamie
on X or comment on one of my articles, give
me your email that you want for sleeper and I'll
get you hyped up.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
That same for you, Bob, reply to one of my articles.
We'll communicate back and forth that way to get you
into the PPR league.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
Love it all right, another topic here, and I'll go
back around the horn here to see if we're missing
anything off the back Love got questions already, Maris, We're
gonna get you in a second here. Let's get our
heads around the Brown's backfield. Poor one out for Nick
no longer a Brown, but just forever a Brown man,
one of my favorites. I want to re announce kind
(14:57):
of make sure people are fully aware that our rankings
are on the website. They're updated consistently when something significant
enough to update our rankings. Since we do that, we
have divvied up the positions through all of us, so
all of us handle one position essentially. So if you're
(15:18):
commenting on an article for running backs, for example, that's
my position. I am super hyper focused on running backs.
Matt is going to be your guy. For wide receivers,
I'm not really paying attention to wide receivers in that
vessel right now. So if you have a quest on that,
I might forward you on or they might as well.
Please go check out our rankings available right now at
football dot raspball dot com. We also have DST and
(15:40):
kickers folks. We have Dynasty available as well. We have
a top one fifty also held down. So pretty much
whatever platform we're looking for, available right now at football
dot rasball dot com. Alrighty, Jeff, if you're ready, I
don't mean to put you on the spot, but I'm
going too. I'm gonna kick off with you here for
(16:02):
a couple of questions, a couple of notes about the
Browns backfield, mainly because it might be run by a rookie.
It's been kind of a mess last couple of years.
Quick thoughts on the Browns backfield and we'll open it
up to the panel.
Speaker 5 (16:15):
Yeah, it's a hot mess, just like their quarterback room.
Speaker 7 (16:18):
You know.
Speaker 5 (16:19):
Quinn Shawn Jenkins, drafted to be the starter, got arrested
recently for domestic violence. Unfortunately, no really information on the
severity of it, any consequences, but he's supposed to be
the starter. If not, you know, Jerome Ford lives on
to see more touches. They also draft another running back,
(16:40):
Dylan Simpson, so he may get some burn there, but
really not sure what to expect from the Browns offense
right now moving forward at this time, I'm kind of
staying away from them until just you know, with Deshaun Watson, Sanders, Joe.
Speaker 6 (16:58):
I know Joe Flacco is there who we all love,
so we have.
Speaker 5 (17:00):
That going for us, But outside of that, I'm not
really sure if you want to invest in the Browns
offense at this point in time, where would.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
You Where would you place Dylan, Samson and Ford double
digit rounds for each one ahead of the other.
Speaker 5 (17:17):
Yeah, I think Ford at least proven it as of
right now on that system. It's just hard if you're
depending on the format. I'd give more stock in to
Ford right now and then just kind of wait and
see what happened with Jenkins, and then I think Samson
is third, but he's the third in line that I'd
(17:38):
be drafting him in that order at this current time,
just because we never know what's going to happen. But
who knows, Quinn Sewn could end up being like Rashi
Rice and nothing happens this year and we're worried about nothing,
So it's kind of hard to say until we know
more on the severity of those charges.
Speaker 6 (17:56):
Well.
Speaker 5 (17:56):
As Goldman said, they're very smart to grab Samson laden
rafts because he may it.
Speaker 6 (18:02):
You know, double digit touches early in the.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
Year Jerome Ford two years ago twenty three, two hundred touches,
eight hundred and thirteen yards and four touchdowns. Last year,
we basically cut the touches in half one oh four
for five to sixty five. Much more efficient five point
four yards per carry, but just three touchdowns. Obviously on
(18:25):
an anemic offense. It's not even a pop quiz. I'm
just gonna tell buddy, because I don't think anyone but
guess necessarily. The Cleveland Browns ran the most plays in
the NFL last year per game and totally didn't score
any points, but they ran a lot of plays, and
we love that for fantasy football. So it is a
(18:47):
mess there at quarterback, you know, sure's his own thing
that we'll get into throughout the season. What does the
wide receiver corps look like? And it doesn't matter what
the Browns are doing. They have three of the best
teams in football. Steelers are hit or miss, but still
always competitive enough game by game, and obviously the Ravens
and Bengals for NFL and fantasy purposes are elite, so
(19:10):
tough to be a Browns fan once again. But we'll
see see what happens there. Alrighty, let's see we have
any other questions in the chat box, feel free to
drop those in here. Jamie's jumping here, Bob Judkins today
for a twenty six second should be a late and
(19:30):
second best team. I like that as well. Under two
point five wins o, Jamie, just just bagging on the
bagging on the Brownies early. Yikes.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
We don't condone betting on the show, but we are
happy to look at your bet slips facts. We don't
not not couldn'tdone it either, if that right is clear? Yeah,
so like you could bet and we're not going to
(20:08):
tell you, hey, we don't agree with that, but we're
also not going to say hey we don't not agree
with that, clear right?
Speaker 1 (20:19):
Yeah? Yeah, Yeah, I think I think I think that's
a good that's a good parenting strategy.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
In jen, it's science, it's just science.
Speaker 5 (20:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
Let's let's let's take a minute here and let's look
at this wager two and a half wins plus eight hundred.
So tell me, tell me which one where the wins
are on the Cleveland Browns team, I've got their schedule
pulled out home versus Cincinnati. Oh, anyone right?
Speaker 6 (20:49):
You know you can't I wouldn't.
Speaker 5 (20:53):
You know, the Bengals screw me last year and they
lost with the Patriots week one.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
So if Jeff, we don't do recency. I remember, remember, Jeff,
I know trauma. We let her trauma go and we
move forward.
Speaker 6 (21:06):
All right.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
At Baltimore, it's tough to not win three games in
the NFL.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
Versus Green Bay at Detroit home, versus Minnesota at Pittsburgh.
That's the first six weeks.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
That's an easy.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
But then they then they've got Miami at home, at.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
Miami at home, Miami at home, maybe England.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
At jack the Raiders in week twelve, Tennessee in week fourteen.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
And I.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
Think you can kiss that money goodbye personally, Jamie.
Speaker 4 (21:52):
But I don't know. I see two wins.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
I could.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
I could see it easily going two and fifteen.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
I I I think they've got a good enough defense
that they can stumble into at least three wins.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
Yeah, let's let's not discount the last what three or
four games of the season in Cleveland that could be
blizzards or windy or whatever, you know, that that fall
in their favor. So I I I'm not sure I
would put money on that Jamie personally, but I like
(22:28):
the bet and at plus eight, you're not bad expecting
to win anything, so I like it.
Speaker 6 (22:34):
Right?
Speaker 1 (22:35):
What the hell? Why not? Yes? Correct, I've been I've
been corrected by the panel. I want to make sure
I don't mistrayed all of our kicker fans. Bob has retired,
so we retired kickers from the panel, unless you actually
have a question about it. So I misspoke. DST and
(22:55):
kickers in my brain are like one line item in
fantasy football forever. So I have misspoken. We do not
have kicker rankings, thank goodness, but we do have DST.
We have top fifty, we have dynasty, we have everybody else,
so keep prackt there.
Speaker 4 (23:11):
And we don't have kickers in either one of our
listener leagues either.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
No, we don't. Well, the best kicker of all time
and one of my favorite players of all time is
somebody we don't talk about anymore. So it's no fun
to like be cool with kickers, you know what I mean.
It's like just kind of laying so and.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
You know what the kids would say, he's he's brings.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
The ick at Oh serious? Ick he was? He was
for a second and then.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
Yeah, Jeff Jefferson's a girl dad. It's all my It's just.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
I get it. Jamie joined Kicker League. Unfortunately, we're not
the programmer. Jamie. You can tune in elsewhere from here
on if you if you'd like to, We would still
love your ten dollars contribution to Guillotine though, So just
phone that in and then we'll catch you another time.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
I think if he wants.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
To draft a kicker in the Guillotine League, we should
let him.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
Yeah, that's fair. We'll take some some some cheerios each week.
That's fine. Uh, let's let's talk about him. Nikki Chubb
to the Houston, Texas and Texans. Anybody anybody excited about that?
We got Joe Mixon over there still year.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
So in moving to Texas, there should be no state tax,
but it appears as if one of his bees was
taxed when he moved to Texas.
Speaker 3 (24:37):
He's he's just a one bee Chubb now, according.
Speaker 4 (24:41):
To Marius, Well, he had to leave one in Cleveland.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Yeah, apparently apparently left to be in Cleveland.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
I thought the Killer Bees were in Miami.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
For many years? Have they been there? Bob Bradzinski, Well,
the Killer Bees?
Speaker 1 (25:03):
How about the Houston Astros of the nineties, oh Man,
Derek Bell?
Speaker 2 (25:08):
Come on now, Derek Bell was the most underrated in
that group.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
I agree, No, I agree, that's because the other two
are highly rated. But I understand, all right, I'm looking
at did.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
You say highly roided?
Speaker 6 (25:25):
Okay, you.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
Bagged all out of this one of my favorite batting
stances ever. And Craig Bigio with the Pontar helmet, that
was my favorite thing in baseball for a decade. Absolutely,
let's talk about Nikki Chubb here for for just a second.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
I want to bring up, just like philosophy, wise names
in fantasy names verse production on your fantasy team is
something I think we all are challenged by and something
that I feel proud of myself about over the years
with fantasy football is outgrowing the urge to draft a
(26:08):
guy because I've always drafted a guy, or because I
like watching him play on Sundays, or because he's a
great clubhouse guy, or he's good in the community or whatever,
but he just isn't for fantasy football. I love Nick Chubb.
I have a Jersey huge fan devastated when he got injured.
Like everybody else, I can't right now without Joe Mixing
(26:29):
somebody else having a situation. I cannot think of a
scenario that I would draft him outside of a Best
Ball or dynasty just because I have so many picks.
Maybe he's on waivers or something at this point. Other
than that, I can't imagine taking Nichubb, who is a
perennial monster guy forever. But uh, I just got to
(26:53):
see it first. Obviously, Now he's healthy, he bounce back
obviously and be a steal in late late late rounds.
Just too gruesome for me. What do you guys think?
Speaker 3 (27:05):
My problem is, I just don't see where he's gonna
get a lot of carries, right, you know, he's gonna
he's probably gonna spell mixing mixing, and he's certainly reasonable
as an insurance for injury. But I I don't see
that he can do anything that Mixon can't. You know,
(27:26):
maybe gold line stuff. Uh maybe they you know, use
him to spell mixing, but he's not going to necessarily
be a factor in the passing game. So he's not
going to be the third down back. He's probably going
to be the back that you know, gets the four
or five series of game.
Speaker 4 (27:52):
I'm gonna respectfully disagree with you both. And here's why he's.
Speaker 6 (28:00):
Feeling.
Speaker 4 (28:00):
When when we see running backs coming off of knee injuries,
and granted his was at a different level, totally get it.
But this is second year back and that's when we
really see them. You know, confidence is back. They're running
with power. You know, we see the real Nick Chubb again,
and we have an opportunity to do that this year.
(28:21):
Joe Mixon's already dealing with ankle injuries already. You know,
we started training camp and he's already dealing with some injuries.
Quick quiz, how many games did Joe Mixon play last year?
And when Pincher guests nine twelve, I haven't heard it yet,
(28:44):
fourteen fourteen is the answer. So he's he's relatively durable,
but he's not, you know, certainly not made of stone.
So I think Chubb's going to have an opportunity. I mean,
they probably will bring him along a little bit slower,
but he's going to have an opportunity to carve out
(29:05):
some space in you know, it's not going to be
much of an if it's going to be a bunch
of a win when Joe Mixon gives opens that door
for him, even if it's for a short time. You know,
Chubb runs through. He's got. Now now we're at a
fifty to fifty time share or close to it. So
I think he's worth a late round flyer. Stash him
(29:28):
on your bench, see see how it goes. You know,
if if he's getting five, six, eight snaps a game
in the first three four games, you need, you know,
you need to make a move. Okay, you're you're not
losing really any any draft capital there. But I think
he's worth a shot, So I probably, but you might
(29:49):
see him on one of my rosters in our listener league.
Speaker 3 (29:55):
Just I hate to disagree with you, but I don't
think you're really disagreeing with us.
Speaker 4 (30:02):
So so I mean, well, okay, so next what Sky? You
can't answer this? Where does Sky rank Nick Chubb in
his running back list?
Speaker 2 (30:17):
It's got to be over fifty, probably over.
Speaker 4 (30:20):
Sixty fifty eight. He's got, He's got him right underneath
Blake Korum, Marshawn, Lloyd Johnson.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
Which burst my heart. I don't even want to talk about.
Speaker 4 (30:34):
It, right So, yeah, so in my mind, I'd rather
have Nick Chubb than some of those other those other
names right there.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
So how how.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
Crazy will the fantasy internet world go when he has
that first preseason explosive run that's very similar to he's
squatting forty seven thousand pounds and it goes crazy on
the internet. He's gonna have one of those runs at
(31:04):
some point in camp or in the preseason, and people
are going to lose their collective minds over He's going
to move up the draft Bowl. But I don't know
when that's coming, but it's going to happen.
Speaker 3 (31:18):
I already I already saw somebody say that, you know,
with Patrick Mahomes in shorts and nobody rushing, saying, you know,
seeing Xavier Worthy make a diving catch, saying that the
Chiefs deep game was back. So yeah, I don't doubt
for a minute your scenario is outrageous.
Speaker 6 (31:43):
Yeah, training camp highlights.
Speaker 5 (31:44):
But Jamie makes a point down here that I was
going to bring up is that the Texans did draft
Woody Marx out of USC played in Mississippi State good
pass catcher while in college, he caught sixty balls his
freshman year, eighty three his sophomore year, and then forty
seven last year. At USC, he might be their third
down back, so you know, they drafted him prior to
(32:08):
signing Chubbs. So I'm very curious to kind of see
how this backfield plays out. I could see a situation
where the Texans have ambitions or the playoffs and probably
the weakest division with my drags play, and so they
go want to keep Chubb and Mixing healthy, So I
could see them splitting carries throughout the season and have
you know, marks spell them on third downs. So with
(32:31):
it being very muddied, unless things get a lot clearer
as training camp goes on and get closer to the season,
this is another backfield I might stay out of love
the receivers in Houston, but I'm probably backing out of
the running backs.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
So I'll jump in here really quick here on my
on my rankings rebuttal if you will Matt to answer
your question pathetically, maybe not hypothetically, like I hope he
he's going to get run in preseason. He has to
to make sure he's healthy. And gets the system and
all that. Nick Chubb probably be running some more than
mixing in the preseason. Let's say he has a nice run,
(33:06):
he has like six carries for forty five yards in
the touchdown in the game, I'd probably bump up up
to a low end R three, which would be like
the higher end handcuffs, so still a handcuff, but like
just some names, I'd probably throw him around ty J Spears,
Aggie Harris, Zach Charboney, Ramandre Stevenson, Scataboo. At least he's
(33:31):
gonna be awesome and as the Giants, but he's started
right away. Let me some Trey Benson and Austin Eckler,
Ray Davis, Jordan Mason, Rashaud White, all those guys I
think of the same player until they're not. Nick Chubb
I think would be in the front end of that
because he's Nick Chubb. And to his credit and something
not to forget is he did back late last season
(33:52):
and play a little bit. The Browns were horrendous, as
we know, was zero pass game at least affect pass game,
and he ran for four point five yard per carry
in the final two games of the season against the Chiefs,
and the Steelers two formidable defenses. Obviously, my major concern
if Nick Chubb is the guy, I have zero faith
and shoulder sayings unfortunately, just personal thing. I'll get into
(34:14):
that as the season goes on. I don't think the
Browns pass game is gonna scare anybody, and the only
time it's going to scare anybody is when they throw
forty times a game when they're down two touchdowns, when,
as we know, unfortunately, the only kryptonite to Nick Chubb
healthy is a bad game script. Right, he can catch passes,
(34:35):
but he's not that to have a running back. So
if they're getting boat raced and it turns into a
passing game, Nick Chubb's hurting. And I don't believe in
the pass game offense for the Browns to keep anybody honest.
And you know, Mike Tomlin and Harbaugh and these guys
are gonna be putting twelve in the box against whoever
the playing at quarterback. So I'm just worried about the
(34:55):
offense and Nick Chubb in general. I love the player,
hate the game. At this point, looks like Goldman did
trade up for him again. If you have like a
fourth rounder in dynasty or something that you're just getting
rid of, or depth pieces or a handcuff of a handcuff.
I like all that stuff. To have him on your
(35:16):
roster in general's fine. We just obviously need to see
it to make it make sense.
Speaker 4 (35:22):
Yeah, one last note on Chubb before we move on.
You know, Indiana's Cleveland and not Houston, but he had
over almost sixty percent of the red zone touches last
year in his comeback year, whereas and if you look
at mixing in Houston last year, he's just about thirty
six percent of the red zone touches. So we have
(35:44):
we have a back you know, split back field perhaps,
but we have a situation where you know, he played
vulture a number of touchdowns. We see that all the
time with some you know, aging running backs who who
still have a little bit of juice and they tend
to get the you know, the red zone touches and
the goal line touches. So yeah, maybe some value there,
(36:06):
but definitely, you know, definitely going to be a fourth,
fifth running back or someone you stash until we see
But I think there's some upside there.
Speaker 1 (36:19):
I like it. Jeff, Can you just reiterate yourself please
on the dynasty value here for Mars.
Speaker 5 (36:25):
Yeah, so when looking at my updated rankings, I have
him at forty three, but he's I had him higher
early on until the Chubb signing, so I want to
see more. But you know, currently he's probably a fourth rounder,
you know, so time to see, you know, how things
play off for him. But I do like his draft
capital being in the fourth round for Houston.
Speaker 1 (36:50):
I like it. I just had to make sure kareemun
is still in the Chiefs, correct.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
Correc Yeah, yeah, I'll take hanover Chubb.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
I mean, for me, what a fun conversation. This was
five years ago.
Speaker 8 (37:09):
Huh yeah, oh man, Yeah, you know you know what
worries he worries me about Kareem Hunt in Kansas City
and it's not that long that downfield passing game that
you just talked about Sky, it's Elijah Mitchell if if
I mean Sky, I.
Speaker 4 (37:30):
Know I'm talking to your heart here, but Mitchella Mitchell
is on the Chiefs now in if big if but
if he stays healthy and he is a good player,
and I think he's a better he's a he's a
better fit there than Kareem Hunt, who's clearly on the
(37:52):
down side. So even though he's the the second on
the depth chart right now, I think he's really third.
To be honest, situation all play you know, or he'll
you know, he'll be available to break things up. But
I think Elijah Mitchell has a chance to really carve
out some meaningful playing time if he stays healthy.
Speaker 1 (38:14):
Big if unfortunately, you know, his fourteen games or whatever
over fires for the Niners were super fun, but like
all Niners he got injured. For all the youngsters in
the audience, do yourself a favor and google Kareem Hunt
opening Night twenty seventeen. Just grab some popcorn, maybe seven
for something, and just enjoy that highlight reel. Incredible rookie season,
(38:37):
like the league.
Speaker 3 (38:38):
He ran all over the Patriots.
Speaker 1 (38:40):
Phenomenal phenomenog So that so the Kareem.
Speaker 2 (38:46):
Hunt, Nick Chubb talk, it's got my it's got my
bold prediction blood kind of a little bit already. We're
not gonna we're not gonna get there tonight, but that
just reminds me that we've got we've got to get
our Bold Predictions list started up soon. Of course, the
listeners they love that. Baker Mayfield two years ago, Kuhan
(39:09):
two years ago. I mean, I'm clearly the nostradamus of
bold predictions for this group, just with riding Baker and
Puka two years ago. And I will ride that I
retire from.
Speaker 1 (39:20):
It's no Austin Eckler stayed, but I hear you.
Speaker 2 (39:27):
Derek still Derek's riding that horse till the wheels as well. Yeah,
not only was that a great call, it was so
offensive to you that it gets extra points.
Speaker 1 (39:39):
Yeah, it's pretty rough, but nailed it. And yeah, we'll see,
we'll see. What are we gonna do?
Speaker 2 (39:47):
What do you think are we going to do full
bold predictions? Are we going to do those by our
own position?
Speaker 3 (39:53):
Well, if we're going to follow year lead, they're going
to be offensively bold predictions where they're going to be
so bold, are gonna piss people off?
Speaker 1 (40:01):
Love that? Love that I I I I think we
need to go. We need to disregard on on the
behind the scenes for us. We need to regard positionals
for that because I don't know we you know we
it's gotta be fun. I gotta have something like you know,
(40:24):
Ricky Piersoll is the obvious number one wide receiver for
the forty nine ers. Like things like that I have
to be able to say, and positionally right now I'm
not able to So I want to make sure that
that's that's okay.
Speaker 4 (40:36):
I love you, Robert, but we got to take that
off the screen.
Speaker 1 (40:38):
We just we just can't.
Speaker 2 (40:40):
There's a glitch in the matrix because I was right
about something else. Amazing.
Speaker 1 (40:46):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (40:47):
We're having some glitches, Bob. We'll try to get that comment,
uh and a screenshot of it for you. I might
even frame it, n autograph sign it for you.
Speaker 1 (40:55):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (40:57):
I was correct about Marvin Harrison Junior. And by the way,
Marvin Harrison Junior will be part of my bold predictions
for twenty twenty five.
Speaker 1 (41:06):
Bank it love that.
Speaker 4 (41:08):
Not to throw guests on the fire, but I think
you were right about Brian Thomas Junior last year too.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
I mean, if we're gonna keep score, let's keep score
all the way. I was wrong about Malieavers, that's for sure.
Speaker 1 (41:21):
Is that is that a is that Jags drop number
one of the season for styles or maybe for Derek.
I guess love it.
Speaker 4 (41:32):
We like we like the Jags for fantasy football.
Speaker 2 (41:35):
Love the Jags because their defense, and then.
Speaker 4 (41:37):
We feel sorry for Jeff as a as a fan.
Speaker 2 (41:39):
Yeah, so I just texted Derek this this morning, and
you know, he's a really good friend, so he didn't reply.
I started, so third round reversal Battle of the Sexes
I got. I got an invite from some of the
ladies of the Women of Fantasy Football. I started from
the eleventh spot, third round reversal A Monroe Saint Brown.
(42:02):
You hear the dog. The dogs are even excited to
play with their toy. I'm on Roe Saint Brown Elite
neighbors Brian Thomas through three rounds Sucker, that's on brand
yep and Lisa Hippard, who many of you have recognized
from the Xbox. She started at the one twelve with Bowers,
(42:23):
Mick bride Kittle.
Speaker 3 (42:26):
Oh nice, yeah, just yeah. How big a premium do
tight ends have in that league?
Speaker 2 (42:36):
I believe it's three and a half per reception. Wide
receivers are two and a half per reception.
Speaker 3 (42:43):
Nice, well, sounds almost that sounds almost f sfb ish.
Speaker 1 (42:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
Now, I'm not good at math, but i think I'm
already charted for thirteen hundred targets my.
Speaker 1 (42:54):
Quick math for those three you are are my excitement
for you is Aaron Jones and Tyrone Tracy as your
running backs?
Speaker 2 (43:05):
Poor Jordan Mason and Eli Mitchell suck its guy?
Speaker 1 (43:10):
Nice? Yeah it, Michael got Styles.
Speaker 3 (43:18):
We got Styles down drinking the EUI Mitchell.
Speaker 4 (43:21):
Ad You see how I planted that seed right here tonight.
Plan planted that seed.
Speaker 1 (43:29):
Well, Derek, you gotta be careful though you might miss
out on im and Guillot then if you keep talking
up Styles is going to swoop him up. There's no
Elijah Mitchell for you. Week one.
Speaker 4 (43:37):
Well, I'll just wait for him. He'll he'll be great,
he'll be available in week two.
Speaker 2 (43:42):
I will not last very long in the guillotine league.
Speaker 1 (43:44):
That is a Hey, you just have to last longer
than Jamie. That's it.
Speaker 3 (43:52):
Is that a bold prediction, Matt.
Speaker 2 (43:54):
Now, there's nothing bold about that. That is not a
format that I have been successful in so well.
Speaker 1 (44:00):
Really, that's what they call a lock in Vegas.
Speaker 2 (44:05):
Yeah, that's the un there.
Speaker 1 (44:07):
All right, good.
Speaker 3 (44:08):
Cold stone cold lock of the Century.
Speaker 1 (44:11):
Of the week minus one exactly. Yeah, all right, gentlemen,
I'm gonna put everybody on the spot here. I'm gonna
buy some time so everybody can pull it up on
their spot. We did not talk about this, but they
could be fun. We started talking about my rankings, I
want to talk about your guys rankings. We are gonna
have multiple, multiple, multiple episodes involving rankings, positional breakdowns. We
are full set on the Rap Fantas Football Podcast. I
(44:35):
just want to have everyone a little biblt a little
appy appetizer if you will, of everybody's rankings. So just
pull up your rankings right now. I have two questions, real,
real simple. You don't have to go in depth if
you don't want to just name the players in a
sentence or two. Two questions. You're setting up your first
set of official rankings and getting them published last week,
(44:56):
which are available a fall raspbell dot com. Right now,
when you're looking at your own rankings, which player jumped
off the page as a Holy smokes, he's really high,
but it makes sense. I'm putting him there on purpose,
But that's surprising to me put him that high for
whatever reasons? Vice versa. Who's a player that when you
(45:18):
were done with your rankings, you're like, Oh, that guy's pretty.
Nick Chubb at fifty eight or whatever breaks my heart sucks,
But that's how the cookie crumbles. So I'd like to
know who surprised you on the positive, who's surprised on
the negative. We'll go around the horn styles. Are you
ready for us? Get after it?
Speaker 4 (45:40):
So I got quarterbacks. I canna go first if you want,
If you need.
Speaker 1 (45:44):
Time, okay, we'll do an order. That's fine. And yeah,
please let everybody know what position you're doing. Thank you.
Speaker 4 (45:50):
Yeah, So I got quarterbacks. I mean the player that's
high for me, probably higher than most, is Kyler Murray.
I have him ranked as my sixth quarterback. I really
really liked the Arizona offense this year. I think it's
in that he you know, that team and him in particular,
(46:12):
and a really good spot both with his legs and
second year with Marvin Harris junior. We talked about him already.
So I'm really high on Kyler Murray. I have him
ranked number six, And on the flip side, I am
not high at all on justin Fields. Many many folks,
many folks are taking many folks are taking him high,
(46:35):
including you Bob in here in the fifth. But now
to me, I have him ranked below JJ McCarthy, below
Matt Stafford, below Michael Pennix. I have him exit at
twenty four. So I am I am definitely not bullish
on Justin Fields in Green with the Jets. So that's
(47:02):
my high, that's my love.
Speaker 3 (47:04):
Can I ask a question, what least, what do you
do you see? What do you see there? He's not
going to get the stats or is he not going
to keep the job.
Speaker 4 (47:14):
No, it's it's the stats. I mean, yeah, we we
know he can use his legs, but uh, I mean
it's the Jets he's got he's got one weapon, you know,
and I just I don't. I just don't see it.
It's I just don't see why everyone's so bullish on him.
(47:34):
I just don't I think he'll be okay, you know.
But you know, if if you're drafting him to be
your number one quarterback, thank you as well. I'm saying, uh,
I would I would have him as maybe a two
or super flex. But I'm definitely I'm definitely off of
that train. I mean, he couldn't really beat out Russell
(47:56):
Wilson last year in Pittsburgh and now he's gonna now
we're we're expecting a renaissance in with the Jets. I
just I just doesn't it doesn't add up to.
Speaker 3 (48:07):
Me, who's the backup in the Jets?
Speaker 1 (48:13):
Exactly?
Speaker 4 (48:14):
Who is the backup?
Speaker 1 (48:19):
It's not Chad Pennington, I know that.
Speaker 2 (48:22):
Not Zach Wilson, No.
Speaker 3 (48:28):
Taylor.
Speaker 4 (48:30):
Yeah, so I don't expect him to be pushing at all.
But so, I mean, he's got he's got the clear path,
he's got he's got the job. But I just I
just don't see I mean, he's just never he's never
blossomed as an NFL quarterback. He's been okay, but he's
never blossomed in you know, how does going to the
(48:50):
Jets change that? I just don't see it.
Speaker 2 (48:54):
And and the year he was good, the year that
we used to bust Bob's chops about right because Bob
brought it up essently, it was because he ran the
ball for what a thousand, nine hundred and some odd yards,
nine hundred and two thousand yards. But he can't, he
can't throw a fifteen yard out. He just can't do it.
He's not yet.
Speaker 4 (49:14):
In twenty twenty two, he had eleven hundred rushing yards
for eight touchdowns, But then he had seventeen passing touchdowns
with eleven interceptions that same year.
Speaker 2 (49:23):
So I think the reason that he is higher on
some list now are based on the type of drafts
that are occurring right now. Got Fishbowl, which is crazy
for carries, first downs, et cetera. So he comes with
more value highwise for his legs and his ability to
carry the ball even when he's just not carrying it well.
(49:45):
His legs are now what three years older than they were,
and you know, there's not a lot of tread on quarterbacks.
You know, unless your name is Mike Vick, you're not
running that much for your career. And again, if they
just put an extra spy in there, not not every
defense is going to do that because you could sit
back and force him to throw. He just he's not good.
(50:06):
My fear is that it makes Garrett Wilson overvalued. That's
not my overvalue. I'm not talking about him now, but
just I think I think I'm passing on Garrett Wilson
when yeah, you know.
Speaker 4 (50:18):
Don't get me wrong. I mean, if he dropped down
the board and there's there's a really good value there,
then I'm not a post. But I don't.
Speaker 3 (50:30):
Yeah, I was high on Garrett Wilson last year. I'm
not as high this year. I'm actually finding him in
some of the drafts. I'm in at a decent, decent value,
so I'm willing to take him. I agree with both
of you guys about justin fields, but I still think
I still think Garon Garrett Wilson can be a good value.
(50:51):
I'm not as a as a high end wide receiver one,
but as a lower end wide receiver one.
Speaker 2 (50:59):
All right, Skuy, who is your high level on the
running back side? Or are you excusing yourself or recusing
yourself from this question?
Speaker 1 (51:06):
I'm I am recusing myself. Is that a government term?
I don't think I've ever heard that before? Recuse?
Speaker 2 (51:14):
I can't confirm.
Speaker 3 (51:15):
It's if they use it for judges a lot and
voy it's it's a conflict of it's a conflict of
interest thing. Well, so what's what's your conflict?
Speaker 1 (51:30):
Yeah, let's let's let's just say this. Alvin Kara will
be higher in my rankings, is higher rankings, will be
drafted by me every single time over Breese Hall. I
have Alvin Kamara at thirteen, Breese Hall is at fourteen.
We're done bagging on the Jets at least for now,
So I'll say my Breeze Hall hype. You can go
read my articles at Football at raswell dot Com Spiller
(51:52):
Alert the Alvin Kamara the og is true. The Saints
are as bad as it can possibly be, and he
was still awesome. He was top ten and a horrible offense.
They're not gonna get horribler. Chris o'lave might actually play
football this year. That should help them. I this whole
like they have no offense. Well, that's half the NFL thes.
(52:14):
Alvi Kamara has risen through that multiple times in his career.
He's the dump down King PPR king. He doesn't take
big hits, he stays healthy, he scores touchdowns usually. I'm
a huge Alvin Kamara fan. I'm taking him and right
now I have him at thirteen. You're never gonna need
him as RB thirty. He's going at RB nineteen in
(52:34):
the back of the third or fourth round. I'll probably
draft him early fifth round. How does Eric come out
in his thirty eighth season, twenty nine? Just like all
of the running backs we love this year now.
Speaker 3 (52:46):
Been twenty nine. He's been twenty nine for the last
five years.
Speaker 1 (52:49):
So exactly, and still productive. So I'm gonna tell that's it.
Like fine wine, a little Vinos little veno there.
Speaker 3 (52:56):
Just like my first wife exactly.
Speaker 1 (52:59):
That's what I was going to Well, I wasn't gonna
say that, but you know what I mean, Like you
can say that the next guy who's also been twenty
nine for a couple of decades, he's no longer a packer,
So we can throw shade on Aaron Jones. Love Aaron
Jones big fan, also a huge fan of the dreads
the whole thing. He's basically Alvin Kamara with a different
jersey on or used to be. The Vikings offense could
(53:21):
be top ten in the NFL. It could also be
bottom top ten in the NFL real fast. I'm nervous
about it. Also, Jordan Mason's not exciting, but there's competition there.
And when Aaron Jones healthy, he's awesome. But he seems
to be slowing down and not getting as much tread.
I don't see the elusiveness that he used to have anymore.
(53:44):
I don't think he's gonna catch very many passes because
so many catch passing weapons in that offense. With TJ.
Hawkinson back and healthy now, although maybe only have one
wide receiver at this point. We'll talk about later. But
Aaron Jones unfortunately is my ranks libert. He's at twenty
four for me. He's floating about sixteen seventeen for ECR
right now. So my plus would be Alvin Kamara. My
(54:06):
fade as of now would be Aaron Jones. Alvin Kamara
celebrating his birthday in three days. I need to tell
me to tell all of you guys, we are invited.
It's just a matter of if you're willing to make
the trip. So just send him a text or something.
Mattie styles your own wide receivers.
Speaker 7 (54:27):
Yes, do not be shocked if by the time I
put out my final rankings that DJ Moore, currently ranked
twenty first, is not replaced in full by the.
Speaker 2 (54:39):
Current guy ranked thirtieth, same team, same position, Rome A
Doomsday twenty one, DJ Moore thirty, And I don't think
that's a bold prediction. I look for Roma Doomsay to
own the targets and to own the yardage and to
own the touchdowns for the Bears. And I think, as
(55:00):
much as it tastes like bile, Caleb Williams, if he
does what he's told to do and stops looking for
the seventy yard bomb, he can be a productive NFL
quarterback market down bold prediction for quarterbacks, even though I
don't do quarterbacks. Caleb Williams is the first Bears quarterback
to throw for four thousand yards.
Speaker 1 (55:20):
Before you move on, Matt, this is important that we
document this year. So that's a that's a Bears shout
out and a Washington Husky shot out in the same sentence.
I just want to make sure we got that document.
Speaker 2 (55:31):
Yeah, I don't want to talk about it, but yeah,
can we move on to tight ends?
Speaker 1 (55:35):
Who's your faith?
Speaker 3 (55:36):
Fantasy? Fantasy makes bitches of o'shall.
Speaker 1 (55:44):
So is that your your Is that your rise and faller,
same team, same situation, Matt.
Speaker 2 (55:49):
Yeah, I think that Brian Thomas is going to creep
up my board. I have him an eight right now,
and I think that's too low, behind behind Pooka, behind
Nico Collins, and I think Nico Collins is way too high,
considering that other than Jayden Higgins, there is not a
pass catcher and Stroud looked absolutely awful last year, So yeah,
(56:10):
I think that. My My big takeaway is I think
DJ Moore is not getting along with Ben Johnson's play calling,
So give me Dj morre to move down my list.
While Roma Doonsay moves up that list, I will take
awful because he is a husky and he is a barrick.
Speaker 3 (56:26):
I will take.
Speaker 2 (56:27):
Every share of Roma Donsay that I can for this season,
every single one of them.
Speaker 1 (56:33):
It was an animal in Washington.
Speaker 2 (56:36):
All right, maybe I'll take the Pennix. Oh Doonsay stack
this year?
Speaker 1 (56:44):
Oh with Kyle Pitts.
Speaker 2 (56:47):
Yeah, okay, so we're going to go on to tight
ends clearly because you mentioned that guy.
Speaker 1 (56:52):
What was my professional segue into tight ends?
Speaker 2 (56:58):
Ah?
Speaker 3 (56:59):
The tight end? I can tell you who. The two
guys that I think I've probably got ranked real high
are Evan Ingram going to Denver, and I'm still in
on thirty five year old Zach Ertz at number I
have got Ingram at number seven, and I've got Ertz
(57:22):
at number ten. I think both of those guys are
going to be mid to low tight end ones this year.
And a guy I thought that I ranked very lowly
that I thought I would get beat up on is
Colston lovelin the Looking for the Bears, who is just
(57:45):
twenty one years old. The Bears have not shown to
be a great tight end offense. That may change with
Ben Johnson. We'll see, but I still think I still
think comets at the upper hand on that team as
far as being on the field. More to me, Loveland's
(58:07):
just twenty one, just turned twenty one right before the draft.
I know he's got I know he was drafted tenth overall,
but that doesn't necessarily that doesn't necessarily translate to playing
time for rookie tight ends. I thought I was going
to be horribly low on him, but I turned out
to be kind of on brand. I noticed that I
(58:29):
noticed that Rudy had him as the thirty second tight end.
I have him thirty six. And I know also the
fantasy first down is not real high on Loveland for
this year. I just think he's much better. I think
he's just much better left to dynasty leagues for twenty
twenty five. Talk to me a couple of years. I'll
(58:52):
be happy to draft him then.
Speaker 1 (58:57):
Oh, nobody was more excited about Evan Ingram, I believe
than Derek and Matt last year. And I know we
were excited about that, right. I mean, he's had the
tools forever. I mean, he's not Darren Waller, but I'm
excited to see him Darren Waller only on the injury side, right,
and zach Ertz. Shout out zach Ertz for disappearing for
(59:19):
five years after the Super Bowl, coming back for Washington
last year and being exceptional down the stretch.
Speaker 3 (59:27):
He had a couple of he had a couple of
good years in Arizona before he got hurt.
Speaker 1 (59:34):
Fair Waller already, that's right, he's got a back up.
Speaker 3 (59:43):
I did. That doesn't mean anything. I don't worry about
the pup in mid July. He didn't come off. He
didn't come off of that anytime, all right.
Speaker 1 (59:55):
So we got a couple riders, a couple of followers.
Let's wrap it up here, Jeff, who you got for us?
Speaker 5 (01:00:00):
So kind of sticking with Dave, I had Colston Lovelin
as my eighth overall player in Dynasty rankings. I think
for this year he may not be the best play,
but I think long term I really like him. You know,
he was compared by Ben Johnson to Sam Laporte, who
we know and did very well, and that Lion.
Speaker 6 (01:00:20):
System with Ben Johnson.
Speaker 5 (01:00:21):
So I just think that new head coach comes in
his first pick in the draft tenth overall is a
tight end, and he was taken over Tyler Warren, who
was the consensus number one Titan coming out of college.
So that tells me that Ben Johnson has big play
into this young man. I know he's twenty one, so
from a dynasty perspective, I'm trying to grab him everywhere
(01:00:42):
I can. He's eighth right now, he could be hired
and not saying his Rock Bowers or anything, but with schematically,
I think he'll got lots of targets now. Staying on
the Bears kind of what Matt was saying, I have
Luther Burden really low. I have him like at nineteen.
A lot of other places have him like twelve or
thirteen in ranks.
Speaker 6 (01:01:00):
I'm not as high on him.
Speaker 5 (01:01:02):
A lot of his passes were behind the line of
scrimmage at Missouri, and I don't know where he's gonna
fit in this offense. He's got to go against Roma
dunzea first overall pick. They still have DJ Moore there
they you know, they draft Colson Loveland as well, and
who knows that they try to get a running back
next season that kind of fits the mold that's Ben
(01:01:24):
Johnson likes. And then Jamiarry gives style a running so
I just don't know where his targets are gonna come
from in the future. So he's a guy I'm kind
of fading from a dynasty perspective. I'd rather have guys
like Jack Besh, Trey Harris, even Kyle Williams. So look
for those kind of guys at that range.
Speaker 1 (01:01:44):
I like, if anybody that want to actually answer this question,
better quarterback for Loveland or Warren, Jeff Culture bears Loveland
for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:01:56):
Yeah, I agree, Lovelan's going to have the better quarterback play.
I just don't know that he's going to be on
the field as much to see it. I think Warren's
got a good shot of being the tight end one.
Speaker 1 (01:02:08):
I think to start off, I agree with you there.
All right, buddy, we have talked over an hour, which
feels amazing, and it feels like five minutes being back
in the hot seat here. Many more hours to come
here on the Rasball Fantasy Football Show, but some of
us have to go to bed. Other has of us
haven't even eaten dinner yet. So we're excited about both
(01:02:29):
of those things. So we're gonna let you go on
both coasts and we will gave a shot to everybody
all over the world tuning into ras ball here on
the YouTube channel once again. I want to go round
the horn real quick, gentlemen. One thing you're super excited
about about rasball specifically this offseason heading into draft season,
is it is that the listener leagues? Is the way
(01:02:51):
we've done rankings? Is it the team Roddery? Is that
the podcast host? What makes the most excited about rap
ball right now? Styles of start, we will go to
Davy and around and I'll wrap.
Speaker 2 (01:03:02):
Us up for me, it's the two leagues that you
guys have come up with, right I was kind of
on the peripheral for that. I think that getting a
closer relationship with the readers and listeners is something that
a lot of sites don't do. And so I think
that if we start to get comments on our article,
we throw those into the conculator and try to find
(01:03:23):
five folks to participate in the PPR. And I think
we're down to eleven for the G League. That'll be great.
Jamie's already into the G League even though he's crying
about it already, and Bob Goldman is in the PPR.
So let's get after it and get some comments on
those articles and start filling those leads up. And I'm
going to bed. I gotta cut out a little bit early.
(01:03:44):
Dob's crying. He's got to go to the restroom. I
love you, guys, and it's great to be back, and
let's keep it moving.
Speaker 1 (01:03:50):
Love me too, buddy. Good night, David Crowz. What are
you excited about? My man? Now?
Speaker 3 (01:03:54):
What am I excited about? Out of all those choices,
the answer is yes, uh, all of it. Good to
see you guys. It's good to be back on the air.
It's good to be back writing articles. It's been too long.
And uh, I'm just looking forward to the season. Training
camps are starting to get ramped up. We're we're back
(01:04:16):
in football season. So I love summer. But uh, after
I after the Mets made me shoot my TV in March,
I was pretty much done in baseball.
Speaker 1 (01:04:28):
So that's right. Maybe you guys will maybe you got
your trade for a power next year. It's like the
did in the workout, Jefferson, how about.
Speaker 3 (01:04:37):
You look forward to I just look forward to paying
Bobby Bonia for the forty fifth straight year. Oh and David,
right too, Yeah, let's get them.
Speaker 1 (01:04:51):
Jeff What what what makes.
Speaker 5 (01:04:53):
Man I'm just excited for the banter, getting the group back.
You know, I've been looking at Dynasty, so now I
get to finally talk about it on air again. So
getting y'all's opinions on things. I just love just talking shop.
You know, it was an hour, like you said earlier,
I can't believe it's been an hour. It really feels
like it's been like ten to fifteen minutes. And I'm like,
I got more stuff to talk about, but we got
to go to the next show.
Speaker 1 (01:05:15):
Love it.
Speaker 4 (01:05:16):
That's your favor, well besides the glasses, of course, now
it's here, I am so stoked for our Guillotine League,
for the rass Ball. It's gonna be so much fun.
Speaker 1 (01:05:31):
Again.
Speaker 4 (01:05:32):
Ever since you introduced me to it, Sky, it's just
been my favorite. So it'll be a lot of fun. Yeah,
playing with some of our friends every week. Who's going
to show up on Sunday and we can just you know,
we can we can talk talkball all Sunday mornings, So
it'll be great. So good to see you guys again.
Speaker 1 (01:05:53):
Yeah, likewise, and ill ahead a little bit and it's cheating,
I suppose, but you know, fire Sunday lives are my
favorite thing about rasball fantasy football behind the scenes chatting
with you guys who like we rotate the squad on Sundays.
We big case, we do things. I'm gone a bunch
like I'm tuning in from various eight travel in that season,
(01:06:16):
but Sunday lives are a lot of fun. Two hours
before kickoff every Sunday morning, we do a start sit
show right here on Sundays, so make sure you tune in.
I'm very excited for the listener leaks. We've done rasball
for a while. It's a blast, obviously. I love that
the Guillotine League, Derek, I echo all your sentiments, and
the PPR League fun as well. So we get high
level content creators. We get Jamie Bob some other people
(01:06:38):
who have been a part of us for a long time.
We have another bunch of people who are gonna get
back in the flow here, and I'm so excited to
like get to know people more personally as well, which
would be fun. Through those leagues have a little friendly
fire and some smack chats. That'd be a lot of
fun too, So it'd be a great season. I'm real,
real rooked to see who the Niners hit string were
running back is gonna be in week four that we
(01:06:58):
pick off waivers this year. It's gonna be a really
good season and I'm very excited for football to be back, gentlemen,
So thank you everybody for tuning in here. I am
your host, Scott Guasco. We got Davey Cruse, a Cruiser one,
two eight, Jefferson Underscore, Underscore, Deuce Uno and Derek Frett
as well Derenderscore, Faret and Matti Styles tuning out early
at Styles eight, Everything, at Raball, at Rasball, NFL on X.
