enjoy the show. Hey, what'sup, everybody. It's the Fantasy Savvy
(00:35):
Weekly Show, which your host Stevede'angelo, presented by the Face Off Sports
Network. Back on a Thursday night, Ready to get into some NFL picks
for a week two? We justsaw the Eagles take care of the Minnesota
Vikings thirty four to twenty eight onThursday Night football. Jalen Hurts runs for
(00:56):
one, he throws Uh, I'msorry, he runs for two. He
throws for one on eighteen of twentythree. But the big story tonight is
DeAndre Swift gets twenty eight freaking carriesfor a buck seventy five and a touchdown.
Detroit Lions. What the hell wereyou doing? Give this dude the
(01:21):
damn ball? So I think KennethGainwell Gainwell might have got wily piped tonight
by DeAndre Swift. Rashad Penny justthree carries for nine yards, so it
was the DeAndre Swift show tonight brokeoff a forty three yard run. So
maybe the Lions got a little toocute by letting DeAndre Swift go there.
I don't know they didn't like him. Apparently the Philadelphia Eagles didn't like him
(01:46):
too much because they rolled out KennethGainwell. Sometimes it makes you question,
like, you know, does thesecoaches see the talent. I've always been
a big Swift guy. Every Alot of people have been big on Swift.
You know, he's he watched thetape. This dude's talented as hell.
You know, twenty carries is kindof insane, and you know you
probably expect Kenneth Gainwell to get somecarries, you know, when he comes
(02:10):
back. But you know, thismight be DeAndre Swift's job and for where
he was going, you know what, sixth round after going to the third
round last year. He might bethe new Josh Jacobs for sure. And
you know, I have a gooda decent amount of Swift shares, which
I'm happy about. Always been aswift guy. So let's see, Let's
(02:30):
see if he can continue to buildon this. Let's see if the Eagles
continue to give him the damn football, which I think they should. I
didn't really see much of this game. I was hanging out with a friend
today, but I mean, Iknow the players swift is. I'm just
looking at the box score here twentyeight four one seventy five six point three
yards for carry, forty three yardrun for his long run of the day.
(02:53):
I saw it. I saw alittle bit towards the end. Alexander
Madison was dropping basses, fumble andballs. That makes me think, like,
are they going to go after JonathanTaylor? Very very high possibility there.
You know, if the Vikings wantto take that next step up just
eight for twenty eight, they youknow, they're playing from behind most of
the game. You know, Madisondropped a couple of passes three for eleven.
(03:14):
So maybe Madison isn't it. Idon't think, you know, Ty
Chandler is it. Dwayne McBride's notit. So maybe Kareem Hunt, maybe
Lenny or if they go big, maybe they go with alexand I mean Jonathan
Taylor there. Justin Jefferson gets revengeon Darius Slay. Believe Darius Slay shut
him down last year. I rememberwatching that. The Eagles did a great
(03:36):
job, but he goes off foreleven and one fifty nine, doesn't get
in the end zone. Addison breaksthat big touchdown once again. That goes
for sixty two yards, So anothergood fantasy day for him. Three for
seventy two and a touchdown, andthen T J. Hockinson paying dividends on
that big contract. Seven catches forsixty six yards and two touchdowns. Tight
end premium. Talk to me allday on that one. I wish I
(03:59):
would have got a little bit more. War of Hopkinson, I kind of
was on him, and then hehad that back issue and all that shit,
but he just needed to get paid. And then it was like Gene
Wilder and stir crazy. That twentyyear back problem was gone. DeVante Smith
nice game, four for one thirtyone or a touchdown. A J.
Brown, very very quiet game onsix targets, just four for twenty nine.
(04:23):
Dallas Goddard just twenty two yards, but he did have six catches,
so you know, not great threepoint seven yards per catch on seven targets.
Deandrew Swift catches three balls for sixand then Penny won for the five.
But the story of the game wasthe Vikings fumbling. Kirk Cousins fumble,
Brandon Powell fumble, alexand Madison fumble. Justin Jefferson catches that ball near
(04:47):
the end zone and it goes fora touchback, which is you know,
that is an absolute killer play inthe in the NFL. There's some controversy,
you know, should we take thataway? But I mean, hey,
you got a hold onto the football, I guess. I mean he
was trying to stretch out get intothe end zone, just slipped out there.
You know, you could have ruledmaybe it was a touchdown it was
(05:09):
on the line, but he didn'thave full control, I guess. So
anyway, the Vikings, they don'tturn the ball over four times, they
probably win this game, but theyend up losing thirty four twenty eight.
Philadelphia now goes to two and oand the Vikings one. A lot of
those close games last year and nowthey start out oh and two. But
(05:30):
guys, thanks for joining me tonight. We're gonna get it to send an
NFL picks. We're gonna do thisevery Thursday night. Get you guys ready,
We'll be doing this all year.Tuesday night, we broke down Week
one, went over all the gamesin detail based on just me rewatching all
the games on the condensed version. You know, obviously to watch all the
All twenty two that probably you know, I just don't have time for that.
(05:51):
I mean, that's a crazy,insane amount of time. I did
watch some All twenty two just fromguys that put out tape, specifically on
the Bill and the Bears. Butthe Cadets version is nice. If you
guys have the NFL Plus, youcould watch rewatch those games. You know,
in about thirty forty minutes. Youcan fast forward on kickoffs and extra
(06:12):
points and show like that and kindof get a good idea of what went
on, because you know, whenyou're watching Red Zone even on Sunday,
there's so many damn games on youcan't follow everything. So it's nice to
go back and just you know, just rewatch everything again and just understand everything
that went on. Even though you'renot watching All twenty two and seeing how
all the plays are designed and youknow, the routes down the field,
(06:35):
you still get a good feel foreverything that went on during the game,
and you kind of stay ahead ofeverything. And then you know, you
can go to YouTube and kind ofyou know, follow different guys and they
have breakdowns on all twenty two twoto kind of you know, speed things
up for you. But let's getinto the pics this week, guys.
This is gonna be the first weekwe didn't start. Last week just was
(06:59):
I was still draft thing, youknow, all the way up to Saturday
night, so I didn't have timeto really, you know, diagnose my
picks the right way even so,and then I and I scrambled. I
put my picks on tally site andit just came out bad. It always
happens like that. So I gotto cap the games a little bit.
I'm gonna pick the pool. Ididn't have even you know, all the
(07:23):
time in the world to dive intothe games like I liked, like I
would have liked. But still Ifeel pretty comfortable about these three games I'm
gonna give you tonight. The firstgame is going to be the first game
(07:43):
here is going to be the SeattleSeahawks against the Lions getting five on DraftKings.
And you know, we saw Seattlestruggle. They lost to the Rams
thirty to thirteen last week. Youknow, Geno Smith, his receivers being
locked up, their defense could notstop the Rams. We saw Puka Nakua
(08:05):
go off. And then the Lions. They beat the Chiefs on Thursday Night
Football in the opener twenty one twentybut that was without Chris Jones and that
was without Travis kelt Kelsey, Soa little fortunate there for the Lions.
I think the Seattle Seahawks bounced backhere on the road the total of forty
seven, so probably a shootout here. I think Gino Smith and his receivers
(08:31):
DK Lockett, Jigba, Kenneth Walker, they're gonna go toe for toe with
the Lions if not went out righthere. So I like them to bounce
back. You're gonna get, youknow, some spots, you get four
and a half, but on DK, I'm seeing five points, So I'll
roll with that as my first pick. The second pick, I'm gonna go
with the Rams plus seven and ahalf against the Niners, and they were
(08:54):
the ones that beat up on theSeahawks. A lot of people were picking
Seattle and survivor they burnt by that, and you know, everybody was kind
of fading the Rams after last yearat you know, big time Super Bowl
hangover Matthew, but Matthew Stafford washurt, Cooper Cup was her. It
was just the offensive line was incomplete shambles. So Sean McVeigh got a
(09:16):
whole year off, got to reassemble. Matthew Stafford got a whole year off,
got to get healthy. And fromwhat I saw from Matthew Stafford in
Week one against Seattle, I thoughthe looked very, very good, a
ton of power and zip on hisball accuracy. He looked like the staff
from twenty twenty one, this guythat's thrown forty touchdowns twice in his career.
(09:39):
So they are at home against theNiners. The Niners took care of
business, beating the Steelers thirty toseven. They absolutely obliterated the Steelers and
Kenny Pickett. They looked awesome ondefense. Brandon Ayuk looked like he's in
for a breakout season. But Iliked the rams here and mat Matthew Stafford.
(10:00):
I like what I saw out oftheir defense, the way they locked
up to Seattle receivers and Pukaakua isgonna be questionable for this game. You
know, the you know, oneof the most popular waiver pickups this week
in fantasy, but he still gotVan Jefferson. I like what I saw
out of two two at well, and you know Matthew Stafford, the way
(10:22):
he's slinging the ball, I thinkPuka will play. Obviously, Coop's gonna
be out. Cooper Cup's gonna beout another couple of weeks. But I'll
like, I'll take the Rams.I think it's you know, seven a
half points, It's a lot ofpoints. Obviously, the Niners could dominate,
you know, their defensive line couldjust shred through this Rams offensive line.
But Stafford was not sacked last week. I get Seattle and he was
(10:43):
getting the ball out quick. Andyou know, Kyral Williams and Acres a
decent one two punch there at therunning back position. But I think the
Rams defense with Donald you know, can can kind of make some plays.
And their secondary I really like thethey locked up those that talented Seattle wide
receiver corps, so I think theycould do a good job on San Francisco
(11:05):
as well. But I'm getting sevenand a half here at home, and
I like the way they looked,so I'm gonna go at Seattle plus seven
a half. Interesting, Shanahan isseven and three against McVeigh, so McVeigh
is gonna be very, very motivatedhere to kind of you know, get
one on this former partner there. So let's see if we can get that
(11:26):
one with the seven and a half, and then then the last pick is
gonna be Denver minus three and ahalf home in the altitude against the Commanders.
We saw Denver lose to the Raidersseventeen sixteen, and we saw the
(11:46):
Commanders beat the Cardinals, the lowlyArizona Cardinals. Who are you projected for
the lowest win total in the NFL? I have I have them at two
wins this year, but I didn'tthink the Cardinals defense actually was pretty good
in that game, but they wontwenty to sixteen. So Denver is it?
You know, Judy's back in practice. You know, didn't get a
(12:07):
lot out of Marvin Mims. Youknow, little Jordan Humphrey caught a touchdown,
Brandon Powell was in there on BrandonPowell, uh, Brandon Johnson whatever.
So you get you get Judy therewith Sutton Javante, you know,
getting back into the groove a littlea little bit. I liked what I
saw at a p Rhyn. Youknow, Russ had a nice first half,
(12:28):
kind of fell off in the secondhalf, losing Dultchitch isn't great.
I'm not a big Adam Trautman guy, but at least he knows the system.
You know, He's a decent enoughplayer there. And you still got
Patrick Certain Jody J C. Jewelthere at the linebacker position on defense,
Frank Clark his question well on thed line. But you know, is
(12:50):
it Sam Howell or is it ScamHowell as Anthony Servino likes to call him.
We will see, you know, all the see got Terry McLaurin and
Johan Dotson. I like Brian Robinsonand Washington does have a pretty good defensive
line. But I think Sean Paytonnice advantage there over Ron rivera riverboat Ron.
(13:13):
So I like Denver to bounce backat home in the altitude against Sam
Howell. You know, I guesshe's used to the Blue Ridge and Smoky
Mountains there from North Carolina, butnow you're going to Denver a little higher
elevation, you know, so maybehe's bringing a little heavy, maybe his
mouth gets a little bit dry.Let's go with Denver minus three and a
(13:35):
half. Them to bounce back aswell, and Russ to have a pretty
nice game with Judy coming back healthy, which is huge for them. So
the three picks for Week one aregoing to be the Seattle Seahawks plus five
on the road against Detroit. Thesecond pick will be the Rams plus seven
(13:58):
and a half at home against theforty nine ers, and the last pick
will be the Broncos minus three anda half at home against the Washington Commanders,
all on DraftKings. So that's it, guys, enjoy good luck this
week. We'll be back Tuesday forour Week two recap and also deep dive
(14:24):
into the waiver wire and fab takecare. Guys like us subscribe the show.
