Hey, what's up everybody. It'sthe Fantasy Savvy Weekly Show, which your
host Steve de'angelo, presented by theface Off Sports Network. Tonight, we
are going to go over all theweek two games, went back in and
watch most of them on the NFLPlus condensed version. A few of the
(00:25):
you know, the primetime games,I left alone because I watched those anyway
live. But you know, whenit's Sunday and all these freaking games are
on, you're watching Red Zone, you're watching this game that you're kind of
focused on one or two games,it's good to go back watch the condensed
version see everything that happen. Sowe're gonna review that all tonight and then
go through every game and go throughour favorite fab waiver pickups to get you
(00:45):
guys ready. I know some leaguesrun tonight, but you might be on
the West coast, but you know, high stakes and a lot of leagues
run tomorrow, open up Thursday morning, so plenty of time to get into
it. Let's go. Welcome tothe Fantasy Savvy Weekly Show. What's your
(01:06):
host Steve de'angelo, presented by theface Off Sports Network, discussing high stakes
fantasy football waiver fab free agent pickups, NFL picks, and more. So
sit back, relax, and enjoythe show, and welcome back everybody to
(01:34):
the Fantasy Savvy Weekly Show with yourhost Steve de'angelo, presented by the Face
Off Sports Network. Okay, sowe're gonna go break down all these games
again when watch the kiddet's version onmost of these, you know, watched
all the main games, the Mondaynight games, Thursday night games, the
Sunday night games. So we'll justgo by what we saw, you know,
what we could kind of project inthe future, you know, what
(01:57):
guys are gonna be important to,you know, monitor and then obviously some
guys that were gonna heavily target onour waiver wires and with our fab money.
This week, we'll go all theway back to the Eagles Vikings game
from last Thursday night, and Irecap this on my NFL Pick show on
Thursday real quick. But you know, Alexander Madison kind of had a rough
(02:20):
game. You know, dropped acouple of passes. I think he fumbled
one as well, eight Carris fortwenty eight yards. So you know,
maybe tide chandlers out there in yourwire. I'm still not overly excited about
him. Plus you know Madison hadthat you know, I guess there's some
racist remarks made on them. Soit's not like they're gonna give up on
this guy. The game kind ofgot away from him. They didn't really
(02:42):
get the run like they wanted to, you know, just three catches for
eleven yards. So I think Madison'sgonna maintain that role. Now, if
you're a you know, Madison owner, you know, maybe you could go
grab Tie Channel, but I'm notgoing crazy. I think if anything happens
to Madison, you know, they'redefinitely gonna go get somebody else. You
know, they'll maybe they'll bring upDwayne McBride out of the practice squad or
(03:05):
Quayne Nwagu, whoever it is.But on the Eagles side, you know,
we saw DeAndre Swift. They talkedabout it last Thursday. Give this
guy the damn ball. And youknow, Kenny Gamewell was out. Kenny
Gamewell is going to come out,and a Boston Scott got a little banged
up in this game as well. You know, I know you probably a
lot of people drafted Rashad Penny. He probably was cut in a lot of
(03:28):
leagues and probably will get cut againthis week, but that's a guy that
you know, maybe you could pickup on the next waiver or run,
you know when it clears Friday Saturday, if you really need back help,
because you never know, like ifthere's an injury to Swift or to Gainwell,
and Penny steps into this situation, you know, that's fantasy gold,
kind of like what happened with JeromeFord. You know who we're gonna get
(03:52):
into. But you know, he'sin a fantasy gold situation. So if
anything happens to Swift, Gamewell's kindof already banged up. Scot's a little
bit banged up, you know,ra shot Penny at some point this year
is most likely going to get someopportunities to show and again going back to
Seattle five point seven yards per carry. Now, it's kind of weird that
he's kind of buried here, youknow, behind Scott, behind Swift and
(04:15):
Gainwell. He's kind of like yaddman out out of all these guys.
And there was some talk in campthat he was going to be the one
cut they were gonna keep trace sermon, but that didn't materialize. But it's
just you know, with all theserunning back injuries right now, you really
want to think deep and you knowpotential, So just ra shot Penny's a
guy to keep an eye on.You know, you can easily get him
(04:38):
zero dollar bid maybe in some leaguesor buck so you don't have to pay
nothing for him if you got somewaste on your roster, or he could
put somebody on an IR spot, you know, pick up her shot Penny.
But nobody really else here that Iwant to talk about. We talked
about this game, you know, last week, and I was out with
a friend anyway, so I didn'treally get a good look at this game.
(04:59):
Overall. I didn't go back andwatch the condensed version because I was
watching all the games from Sunday. But let's get into the next game,
Buffalo versus the Raiders. Huge bounceback for the Bills. You know,
everybody's screaming about Josh Allen wiling out. Obviously a tough debut on nine to
eleven and against the Jets, youknow, force fed some balls, but
big bounce back here, thirty oneup, thirty seven, three touchdowns,
(05:23):
zero picks. So he's paying dividendson you know where he took him in
your drafts and Josh Allen's a obviouslyyou know QB one two in the last
three years and QB two last year, so fantasy stud But the good thing
is that you see Gabe Davis gooff here six for ninety two and McDermott
called him out. Gabe Davis comesback, fights for that ball in the
(05:44):
Enzo gets that touchdown, leads theBills and receiving Diggs goes seven for sixty
six. Good to see Kincaid getssix six targets five for forty three.
Dawson Knox did get the touchdown. But a good game for Kincaid, especially
tight end premium. But either way, you know, you know, nine
points from your tight end isn't terrible, you know, so good news.
(06:05):
And I think Kade's only going tocontinue to produce and be a consistent producer
because they really don't have many otherweapons besides Digs and Gabe and Josh Allen
could definitely get these guys the ball. Lettavius Murray is a guy, you
know, six carriacs for twenty twoyards, gets to the end zone.
Also catches two balls for nine yards, played more than Damien Harris. Damian
Harris to get into the end zoneas well. But you know, Lottavius
(06:28):
Murray is a guy that could beon your wire. You know, something
happens to James Cook. Again,I'm not spending much for Latavious Murray.
Maybe a couple of bucks you're there, you know, uh, you know,
two percent or whatever one percent ofmy fab. Not much at all,
you know on a one hundred dollarsfab, you know, a couple
of bucks here or there, thousanddollars fab. You know, maybe still
(06:51):
a couple of bucks. So let'sdo so, you know, not much
at all for Latavius Murray. Butit's just a guy that could step in
there and and you know he couldcatch the ball out the back. So
he's thirty three year old. Butthis guy continues to get it done.
So they may use him on thegoal line, but he probably needs a
Harris or Cookies will to be relevant. So you know, again, if
(07:12):
you have some waste there, youwant to take a shotott Tavis Murrow.
You could be a player in thisoffense. Not terrible, not horrible.
And you know he was drafted insome leagues anyway. So Khalil Shakira also
catches a touchdown. Now the bigthing was like, who's gonna be the
third slot guy. It was kindof like Deante Hardy getting these carries out
of the backfield or whatnot the firsttwo games, you know, the first
(07:33):
game, and even caught two moreballs this week for four yards. But
Kalie Shakure is a talented kid ata Boise State rookie. Last year,
he gets a touchdown. I wouldlike to see the Bills use him more.
I don't know what happened to thetrench shure field. There's so much
hype about him, and he seemslike he's a pretty good player, you
know, going back to San Francisco, kind of made plays there Miami last
(07:56):
year, made some plays there aswell, But the Bills really haven't used
him yet. You know, soa guy to monitor, but you're not
picking him up, you know. You know, at this point, I
don't think you're picking up the secureeither. But just monitor him as he
goes forward because he could be athing. There could be a you know,
a third wide receiver that kind ofblossoms there and has some spike weeks
that can help out your fantasy teams. On the other side, you know,
(08:22):
Jacoby Myers missed this game with aconcussion. Jacoby Myers is in for
a big season, and Jimmy gkind of struggled in this game sixteen to
twenty four, eighty five, onetouchdown, two picks, So you know,
not having Jacoby Myers kind of hurthim. Hunter Renfro steps in again,
you know last year supposedly he couldn'tgrasps the McDaniels system, and another
struggling game here one for twenty three. Davante Adams goes for six eighty four
(08:46):
and a touchdown. Josh Jacobs, the second leading receiver five or fifty one,
makes up for it because he ranfreaking nine times or negative two yards,
which is insane from the rushing leaderlast year. So the Bills brought
the brunt defense. They brought ithard. After that Week one loss,
they were focused in their home opener. Bill's mafia was going freaking nuts.
(09:09):
They get it done. Michael Myers, you know, I talked about him,
you know, when I was doingthose draft shows, and it's just
like these Notre Dame tight ends, they just like they're kind of big,
slow, you know, big targets, but they kind of take a couple
of years to develop. So notinterested in him, and Austin Hooper has
kind of been you know, twofor twenty, but he's not even a
thing. There's like no tight endto speak of there with the Raiders right
(09:33):
now. So no pickups really herefor the Raiders that I could see.
You know, Zamere White, ifyou're a Jacob's owner, isn't a bad
handcuff, so not terrible there. And you know, there's really nobody behind
Zamere White that's threatening, so Iguess he would get all the work.
But you know, Josh Jacob's gotto step it up. The first two
weeks pretty brutal, so for himso far. The rushing leader, you
(09:58):
know, was the big fantasy surpriselast year, really struggled, really had
struggled the first two weeks. Allright, Let's move on to Baltimore and
Cincinnati, and Joe Burrow had arough first half. I thought he played
much better in the second half, but his calf was bothering and he was
massaging it. But he was throwingsome nice balls. Could have had another
(10:20):
touchdown to Chase that got knocked outin the corner. Higgins almost kept his
feet on had a touchdown, Sohe was throwing some nice balls. You
know, I think Burrow was alittle rusty, not playing much in the
pre You know, I didn't playat all the preseason, hurt that calf
pretty early, and last year Ihad the appendeck to me. But you
know, last year they started owingtwo, finished twelve and four, went
(10:41):
to the freaking AFC Championship game, and then this year they started owing two.
So expect the Bengals to bounce back. Burrow will play better. I
think Burrow will be out there freakingMonday Night for sure, because they cannot
go and three. You know, even the Steelers look a little bit formidable
with that defense. Highsmith and Wattwere absolute beasts on Monday Night. And
(11:01):
then the Ravens, obviously, youknow, are always damn good. So
you can't go in three in thisdivision. You already got a lost to
the Ravens as well. Chase Brown. You know, Chris Evans was a
scratch in this game. Chase Brown'sonly got one carried for two yards.
You know, the rookie out ofIllinois, you know, is he gonna
be a thing? You know,if you're a mixing owner, I think,
you know, maybe it's smart too, Maybe try to get Chase Brown,
(11:26):
but he's not He's not doing anythingright now. And it could be
freaking Trevia Williams, it could beChris Evans. So you know, probably
not in any of these guys untilwe see more. And none of these
guys are really talented anyway. Andeven mixing, you know, thirteen for
fifty nine catches four for thirty six, so not terrible, but has it
fell into the end zone yet?But he's the guy, he's gonna get
(11:46):
all the freaking work. But youknow, for all the work he's getting,
he's not producing like he should sofar this year and then last year
was kind of frustrating to be amixing owner as well. On the other
side, set where its ten forsixty two and a touchdown, Justice Hill
eleven for forty one. On theground, Justice Hill catches three balls for
twelve yards. I like the wayGus looked in this game. Justice Hill
(12:11):
got stuffed in the goal line andthen Gus kind of cleaned it up,
which is a good sign for Gusgoing forward because Justice Hill got those two
goal line carries in the Week onegame, so you know, Gus bus
big strong runner gets the six pointtwo yards per carry again, Justice Hill
under four yards per carry, hada shitty yards per carry the game before
(12:35):
two. You know, Justice Hillprobably gets a little more versatility in the
pass game. But you know,I think right now I prefer Gus Edwards
if he's out there in your league'syou know, you I would pay a
pretty good penny for him. Youknow, but most of these guys,
Gus was drafted. You know, most of these guys were picked up last
week after JK. Dobins, butthey're still you know, hanging around.
(12:56):
Or you know, your guys inyour league went out after Justice Hill and
not Gus Edwards. You know, definitely pay up for Gus Edwards there.
I think I prefer him over JusticeHill the rest of the way. Could
you know Keaton Mitchell, who's onthe IR, the rookie, you know,
could he maybe get a role atsome point? It's possible if you
(13:18):
could pick him up, put him, put him on your IR. I
don't mind that. I don't thinkMelvin Gordon's gonna be a thing. Beckham
had three catches early in this game, and then he left with an injury,
so you know, he was offto a nice start. He came
back and then he I think hegot hurt again and he left, so
(13:41):
Nelson Aghalore stepped up in his absencefive for sixty three to touchdown, and
you know we're going out there andgrabbing Nelson Agalore and getting crazy about it.
Not really. I mean, wekind of know Nelson Algalore is,
but you know, he made anice catch for the touchdown. Uh you
know, over his head a littlebit kind of fell in there. But
you know, Zay Flower obviously isthe guy to own this offense. Bateman
(14:03):
and others, you know, slowgame three for eighteen. So you know,
but if Beckham's gonna be out,Aglare is gonna step in. I'm
just not you know, I'm notgoing crazy for Nelson Aglore. You know,
there's other guys I prefer that we'lltalk about, but you know,
he might have some good games herethere, But I think it's gonna be
you know, the Mark Andrews showfive for forty five and a touchdown and
(14:26):
then Zay Flowers who made another nicesick catch in this game, showing off
that talent. But I thought theBaltimore Ravens looked more comfortable this week,
and Jackson does have a good historyagainst the Bengals, but he looked a
lot more comfortable this week than Latinand Week one and this new monck And
offense, So good things for Baltimorethere to do. Yeah, that's pretty
(14:54):
much it for that game, andlet's move on to Kansas City versus Jacksonville.
Now, you know this game, the total in this game was fifty
one. You know, we kindof expected to shoot out and we didn't
get that at all, and partlybecause the Chiefs defense man gets Chris Jones
(15:15):
back, you know, so theird line's tough. They sacked Trevor Lawrence
four times. Their secondary looks good. So Steve Spagnolo has a you know,
he's always he's been coordinated for along ass time, uh, dating
back to the Giants when he wona Super Bowl with them as their de
coordinator. But he's done a goodjob with this Chiefs defense. And you
know, they got a good passrush. They have some nice young corners,
(15:41):
and they did a good job onTrevor Lawrence twenty two or forty one
two sixteen no touchdowns, but nopicks for Lawrence, and he had like
three or four passes in the backof the end zone. I think two
were to say Jones. We justmissed touchdowns in the back to the end
zone. One was to Ridley andthere was one other one. I can't
remember who it was, but therewas that. He could have had three
or four touchdowns in this game.So they were moving the ball, they
(16:03):
just couldn't really get into the endzone because the freaking Chiefs kept turning it
over. Richie James dropped the punt, Justin Watson had a fumble, and
there was one other turnover. Ohyeah, Candarius Tony. Well, Candarius
Tony recovered his own fumble, butRichie James and Justin Watson both lost fumbles.
(16:26):
So you know, Jacksonville was gettingchances. They just couldn't get in
the freaking end zone. Speaking ofthe Chiefs, and Justin Watson three for
sixty two on five targets, soyou know, is he gonna take that
second roll there? You know behindKelsey, I don't really see it.
You know, I would bank onRashid Rice as the season goes on.
(16:47):
Two for twenty in this game, you know, can Darius? They were
throwing screens too. He made acouple of really nice plays and then they
kind of forgot about him a littlebit, and then they went back to
him on another screen and he fumbledthe ball, but he recovered it.
You know, you'd like to seethem kind of throw to a down feel
a little bit more. But skyMoore three for seventy after Donut Week one,
gets into the end zone fifty fourlong, four targets. Uh,
(17:11):
He's kind of like maybe he couldbe like the secondary level of Travis Kelsey.
What I mean by that is likeyou know, when you watch Kelsey
and Mahomes, Kelsey's kind of alwaysmoving to that open zone when Mahomes is
scrambling scrambling around, and that's kindof what happened on the touchdown. So
sky Moore is kind of good atthat too it you know, you know,
kind of finding those those holes inthe zone and maybe he could become
(17:34):
that guy that Mahomes trusts. Andthat's what all the reports and camps were.
You know, sky Moore is takinga big leap in his second year.
You know, he's going to improvea lot, and they're playing him
the most. So you know, sky Moore was heavily drafted big Donut Week
one. Now, I don't knowif he totally looks the part. He
(17:56):
doesn't. You know, he doesn'tlike have the most eat or you know,
he's just his route running isn't great. But if he could be a
guy that could kind of just thatmy homes can trust. You know,
with my homes, you know, anything is possible. But again, I
do like Rashi Rice long term. And then maybe Justin Ross is out there
(18:18):
in your league. You could takea shot on him. He didn't really
play in this game. I thinkyou have like one target in this game,
so you know you'd like to seethem use him a little bit more.
I thought they would maybe use thema little bit more in this game,
but they didn't. So it's justa guy to monitor. You know,
maybe it could take a shot onJustin Watson. I know in High
Stakes I picked him up just totake a shot. You know, you
(18:40):
get deep rosters there, so youjust never know what could become. And
you know, Watson's to me iskind of like the Gabe, a little
bit of the Chiefs offense, whereyou know, my homes like to throw
to him down feel deep a lot. So again three for sixty two thirty
four yard catch in this game onfive targets. The running the backfield Pacheco
(19:03):
twelve for seventy. You know, rand Hard had some big runs. H
Cch is still sort of involved twofor seventeen catching balls. McKinnon one carrier
form minus two yards. He catchesthree for twenty four. But you know,
until like one of these backs becauseout of the way, and it's
mostly gonna be Cch. You know, as we've seen the Chiefs, as
the season goes on, they kindof get rid of Cech and then McKinnon
(19:26):
steps up. Pacheco's gotta be alittle bit more involved in the past game,
you know, one freaking reception fornothing, just two targets, but
he should fall to the end zone. You know, you can still throw
him out there as like a flexplay or RB three and he should have
some stronger games. But right nowhe can't use McKinnon until I don't think
(19:48):
he can use him until Hilaria getsout of there. And again the last
two years, it's taken McKinnon acouple of weeks to really warm up.
One more thing on the jat ormore things on the jackside. Christian Kirk
bounces back eleven for one ten.Evan Ingraham's going to be a vital piece
of this offense. He looks greatout there. You know, he's just
breaking tackles, making tough catches.Ridley slow game. He kind of looked
(20:11):
a little slow in this game. You know, I don't know if you
know, he's getting back into footballshape. Did make a nice catch,
but he did look like he wasn't, you know, running full speed of
time like he was just he waslagging a little bit in this game.
So I mean, he'll be fine, but you know, maybe he's just
(20:32):
getting back into football shape a littlebit after taking those two years off.
But he should get back pretty quickif that is the case. The Ernest
Johnson actually plays more than Tank Bigsby, Tank Bigsby after that freaking or does
more in this game, thanks Biggsbyafter you know, after you know,
he's gets to the end zone weekone, but did drop a pass that
(20:53):
led to a pick Dearnis Johnson onecarry for eight yards, one catch for
nine yards, So not a badpick up there, you know, because
if something happens D ten, maybeDeernest Johnson gets more work than the rookie
Tank Bigsby and then kind of arough game for ETN twelve or forty.
(21:15):
But he did this last year. You know, he had games where he
did nothing and then there's other gameswhere he just went off. And we
saw that a week one, weektwo against Chiefs defense. Give them a
lot of credit and they're out therein your waiver wire. I think they're
a good pickup as well. Chiefsdefense. Again, they have good corners,
good nice D coordinator, good Dline, and the Chiefs are going
to be playing ahead. So thatmeans a lot even though they let up
(21:38):
a lot of points or they madea lot of a decent amount of points,
you know, a lot of sacks, a lot of opportunities for turnovers.
All right, guys, we've gotsome comments here from Williams Stevenson.
He says, good evening, Steve. Let's get it. What's up?
Will glad to have you STL fandiscount. I know he's a fellow listener
(22:07):
listens to the show with Anthony andMatt and Mike. Can you really trust
any running back in Philadelphia? Ithink he can because whoever's gonna get the
carries there, it's gonna be runningbehind a nice offensive line. So DeAndre
Swift very solid. You know,he didn't really get the opportunity of Detroit
(22:27):
that he deserved. He showed outon Thursday night. But you know,
Kenny Gaywell will probably continue to mixin. But I think Swift may have
just waly pipped Freaking or Gamewell gotwily pipped by Swift. I'm pretty bad
need for a running back. Iwill trademark Andrews as I have Laporta Andrews
(22:52):
for James Cooker and Mare. Imean, I like Laporta. He broke
a tackle there in that game.It made a nice catch. He's definitely
a nice player, and I thinkgolf is going to continue to trust him
as the season goes on. That'sthat's a close one. But I would
say I would say Romandre Ormandre hasthe history last year. I think he's
(23:15):
a more durable runner. He's inan offense that wants to run the football
more, and he's evolved in thepass game. You know, James Cook
looked damn good, and you couldargue James Cook could surpass Ormandre. But
if you're going to trade Andrews,I think I would prefer Vermandre over him.
(23:36):
Zero Cook end zone looks well.Stevenson says, what fat percentage are
you throwing down for? Craig Reynolds, man, I mean, what are
the Lions doing with this Craig Reynolds. It's like, uh, David Montgomery
has a thie bruise, so he'sday to day. So I'm not throwing
(23:56):
dude, I'm not throwing anything down. I'll say, you know, if
if you want to, you know, I would do a zero bid or
maybe a buck tops. I'm notdoing anything, but yeah, you know,
Montgomery maybe back this week anyway. And I don't know what they're doing
(24:17):
with Jamir Gibbs and why they're evenplaying around. This is like this DeAndre
Swift treatment last year when they weregiven freaking Justin Jackson carries pick two.
Most are Pierce Moss Dalvin. Ihaven't if this is a question for this
week, I'm not really looking intothat right now, but you know,
(24:41):
for the rest of the year,I'd probably say most and Pierce. I
mean, Moss is interesting. Hehad a good game and he's the number
one guy there right now. Theydid just sign Trey Sermon to the practice
from the practice squad, so Imean there's a chance Trey Sermon could step
(25:02):
up. There's a chance they could, you know, still want to bring
a Jonathan Taylor. You'd have toexpect Pierce to be better once their offensive
line gets healthy, and you knowEvan Hole's gonna come back at some point,
so it might not just be theZach Moss Show for the rest of
the year. So I would probablysay Pierce and maybe most Er Dalvin.
(25:22):
You know Bruce Hall is going tobe the guy there eventually, so he's
gonna be an afterthought, and hehasn't looked good anyway. Would you drop
anyone from Zay Jones, Dobbs ThomasJudy, Elijah Moore? A lave which
three can be started from? Sk
