Speaker 1 (00:00):
What's going on everybody.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
I am so excited for this rendition of finding your
niche with niche because this is actually a special edition.
This is my first time y'all interviewing a kid, and
I'm so excited because she's a dynamite of a kid.
Let me just add that little caveat to it. So,
welcome to the show. The actress, comedian, drummer, dancer.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
What else do you do? You playing a flute? What else? Model?
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Everything that when it comes to entertainment and just being
a pool rounded young woman. Veronica Mitchell, Welcome to the show.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
Thank you so much for having me.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
I am so excited to talk to you. You are
such a delight. First of all, before we get started,
so you're in Atlanta, right, I'm excited for you because
ultimately you are here because you are being nominated for
the Black Christian Influence Sir Conference, I as one of
(01:02):
the influencers. Yeah, so let's just break that down because
I'm curious to know before we get started, your definition
of what it means to you for one to be black,
then to be a Christian, then to be an influencer.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
So let's just start there.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
How would you kind of describe those three facets of
who you are.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
Well, uh, the black Native American, Native American influencer, you know, influencer,
y young kids and even older adults. So you know,
just be confident yourself. I just wanna bring joy, you know,
joy in the world. And laughter because the Bible says
laughter is medicine.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Mm.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
So yeah, I really would have.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
And then the conference, you know, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's
what it all really means to me.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
What does it mean to you to be a Christian?
Cause I think a just uh so this conference is amazing.
First of all, it's the first time that they're having
this actual conference is getting a lot of reception and
a lot of momentum here in Atlanta, which I think
is great because I'm a Christian as well. And so
when I learned about it, when I saw that it
was happening, I'm like, yes.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Please more.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
And so with you being a Christian influencer in a
world of social media where there's a lot of just
like secular people and people who are not Christians, you know,
infiltrating the space.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Yeah, what does that mean to you to.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Be able to share the gospel, to be able to
be a vessel through comedy and through social media.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Talk about that a little bit.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
I love being a Christian.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
I love God because nobody will be here really without him.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
He gave us life, breath.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
Everything that we can think of, he did, so I
I I think, really thank God for everything that He's
done for me to be a Christian. It's amazing because
reading the Bible, it's not just a book, it's something
like it has different, real, real stories that God have
done for people. And sometimes if you like really go
deep into it, God will even show you those stories
(02:56):
in reality.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
So that's that's one thing that I really love about it.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Okay, So with you being in Atlanta, I heard word
on the street. I'm'a say, a little birdie told me.
A little birdie told me. With you being here in Atlanta,
you're like low key famous. I dang, like you been
getting stopped on the streets, like everywhere you go people
recognize you and see your face. What has that been
like for you and what does that mean to you?
Speaker 3 (03:21):
It is amazing?
Speaker 4 (03:23):
And I said, I really thank God for all of
that because it's it's showing that I'm getting bigger and
bigger by the second and you know I'm small, but
you know I'm getting bigger, and you know, fame and
I I love that and I love I call it.
I don't really wanna call them just fans. I call
them supporters cause they's they supported me for five years street, yeah, Street,
And that's amazing.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Yeah, And it's sometimes it's also shocking because they're like,
oh wait, it's to DV show.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
Like a lady she had she drove around. She was
like wait, and then she drove all the way back
around just to have a picture with me. And I'm like, wow,
that's amazing.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Wow, that's amazing.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
I think one of the key important things that you
just said is that you have supporters who have been
with you for five years straight.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Now they have only.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Been able to be with you and support you for
five years straight, yeah, because you have been consistent for
five years straight. Right right, Okay, So talk to us
a little bit about the consistency level.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Yeah, And how.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Do you get up every day? How do you pull
yourself out of bed every day and hit record?
Speaker 3 (04:28):
Well, I have a schedule.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
Me and my father go to a dance studio, my
mom's dance studio, and we go and we set up
the cameras and do that, and then I just pray,
have a like good old conversation with.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
God to make that day to be a good day.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
And so next thing, you know, I just feel so
hype after that, so joyce full, and I'm like, I'm
gonna make people laugh and smile and do just blow
the world up.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
S Yeah, okay, So let's let's go back a little bit.
You go into this studio, maybe you don't on this
particular day, but we're in Atlanta, so we gotta talk
about it. So you go into your mom's dance studio
that day, you send a prayer up God, help me
create the best content that I can post today to
make people laugh, to bring people joy. You pressure chord
(05:12):
and you say, snap your fingers, do you stay?
Speaker 1 (05:16):
You can do it all by yourself.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
Let me see you do it.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Hey, So you go virals from posting a Little John video,
shout out to a Little John. Because we're in Atlanta.
Of course we in the A so we gotta represent.
But so talk talk to me about that video, the
inception of it, what made you choose that song, Like,
what was that whole process? And then when you posted
it sent it out in the atmosphere.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
It did its own thing, and now you're.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
Like, yeah, well, everybody says that I'm an old soul
because I like to watch old movies and listen to
old you know, songs, and so that song was one
of my favorite songs and it was actually it had
went viral, but then it went little.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
I'm like, I'm gonna make this song pop again.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (06:00):
My dad had sent me the video and I was like,
you know, i'm'a do it better. I'm'a do it way better.
And then I pressed the cord. I was like, just
go do I'm be me. I ain't gonna copy nobody.
I'm'a be me on the freestyle to it.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Yeah, the next thing, you.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Know, like that, Wow, that's amazing. Would you kind of
describe maybe you would, maybe you wouldn't, but would you
kind of describe your career or your level of impact
to be kind of like a snap of the fingers
where it felt like it was like an immediate like
oh my god, all of a sudden, right, maybe like
a hundred people knew me, and now it's like a
(06:34):
hundred thousand people know me.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Talk about what that has done for you.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
It's done a lot.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
Because when I do create videos, like it's like.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
The next hour.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
My dad was like, this hit a million, Yeah, just
an hour. Normally it wa Well, when I used to
start doing videos, it's just non views. But that's because
I was being consistent and being patient and God showed me,
you know, and yeah, it's it's it's it's amazing because
it shows as I said, it's again just bigger by
a second.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
Yeah, like yeah that I love that. Okay.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
So one of the cool things that I really like
about your content is so I do You're right you're
old soul, because when I watch your content, I'm like,
how is she doing that voiceover? This voiceover work for
so long? Like it's not just like a like a
ten second sketch like you're doing like a full length
like almost monologues essentially.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
And so when you are preparing, you know, to go.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
Into these deep vocal like skits, what is kind of
your process, like, you know, how are you choosing which
voiceovers to do and how long does it take you
to actually be able to execute them?
Speaker 3 (07:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (07:43):
Well, and I said, my dad sends me the videos
and I'll choose like ten or twenty videos to do
that day, okay, And when I choose the videos, I'll
practice them, like, uh, you know, I learned very quickly
with dance and you know.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
And so with scripts, I practice them.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
My dad even helps me, like, say, if it's another
character that I'm doing, He'll like just keep playing that
like sound in my head just so I can remember.
And then even I'll write them down just to say
it with it and then put the paper down, like
I can do this.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
And I press record and I say it. Sometimes I do. Ma,
I'm not a perfections god know, nothing's really gonna be perfect.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Yeah, but you know, I still, you know, I do
it over and over again just to make sure I
get the hang of it to the point where every
word that I say.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
It's going with the video.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Okay, so you practice, yes, okay, So it is the
saying true practice makes perfect Yeah really yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Okay, So walk us through because a lot of people
are like a little.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
Bit apprehensive about that, you know, like when we don't
do something perfectly or it doesn't come out right, that
actually prevents people from putting it out there. So when
you review something that you've done multiple times and you've
practiced it, and you get to the point where you
feel like, Okay, I'm ready to actually post that. What
is it that you're looking for? I guess in your
performance that makes you say check the box, post it.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
I'm really looking for just me, just me, to be me,
my character, all of that funniness, Cause, as I said,
I wanna make people laugh and smile. And even like
somebody hasn't ha it's having a bad day, they're just growing.
Like you know, i'm'a go to the VV show. She
make my day all better, and so they.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
Go next day.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
You know, their day is just amazing because of my video.
And so that's really what I'm looking for.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Just laughter and joy.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
I love that. Okay.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
So when we think about the laughter and the joy,
and you've spoken a lot about your dad kind of
helping you put this stuff out there, this content, where
do you think that came from? Cause I know you
started doing videos like when you were like three years old,
But were you always kind of this joyous, jovial person.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
I was never shot.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
Get that from my mom and my dad cause they
both was never shot in school and you know, as
an adult, and so I think I was just Tom's
ten actually now my dad was home sane.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
I'm like Tom's foe.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
Yeah, I n I never shy, So I was always
ready just to put it out there.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
And so when you put stuff out there today because
you're twelve.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Or thirteen, now thirteen, oh w uh, we got a
you are a teenager, I am. Okay, we're gonna talk
about that in a second, but okay. So with social
media being such like a big part of society, like
it's it's a big part of like everyone's daily life.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Now, it's so intricate into everyone's life.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
And so social media pure pressure societal like influence other
people saying like am I People use that as a
standard to decide whether or not there are enough to
the world. So when you look at a post you
post something and it's like, oh my god, this one
did a million views. Y, this one did twelve thousand views,
(10:45):
this one did eighty thousand views. Is there a metric
that you use to define yourself as like a number,
like oh I am enough because I got this number?
Speaker 1 (10:55):
Or does your worth come from God?
Speaker 4 (10:57):
My always comes from God. I don't I already know
that I'm that? I'm that Carol because of God? So
you know, he made me for a reason. M you know,
he he's helping me through like, oh, just opening these
doors and I know that's it means something and I
already know what it is.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
So on the days that you might not feel ass
confident in what you just said, cause we're all human,
what kind of words of encouragement would you give to
other young influencers or maybe what are the words of
encouragement that your parents give to you when it comes
to that not feeling like, ah, I'm not enough because
(11:37):
I didn't perform as well, or that I didn't get
enough of views. What kind of advice would you have
to people who may be looking at that as a
standard for their success.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
Always put God first before you do whatever you want
to you know your dream or you know, yeah, so
you always put God first, Keep praying, have somebody someone
there to like support you through everything, and even if
you don't, I'll gotcha, I'll I'll support you. And a
lot of people who definitely support you. Just do the
right thing. Don't go out there and you see other
(12:08):
people doing that, so you just wanna follow behind them,
be a leader and have people follow behind you.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
I love that. Thank you. So you would support me.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
Yeah, you say you'll support you'll support the people say
you'll support me. If I'm not feeling like I love that,
thank you for that. So let's talk about VV the
VV Show. Talk to me a little bit about that
in the vision behind actually creating a show. Cause it's
one thing to like post on social media, but it's
another thing to think, you know what, I'm gonna take
(12:38):
ownership over who I am and my brand and what
I represent and what I have to offer the world.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
So talk to me a little bit about the VV Show.
Speaker 3 (12:46):
Well, y'all start.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
It all started when I was two years old. I
was at church and my uncle was not there to
play the drums that they He had moved to Atlanta
here and nobody was playing the drums. But I've seen
my uncle play so much. I just caught the rhythm
and the lady was playing.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Like the piano. I'm like, it just don't sound right.
It need a beat to it.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Okay, they just to add on.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
They were just saking the song like they're in the
middle of the song, it's about to end. And as
I said, I'm never shout, So I just went up,
not thinking about everything, just went up, grabbed the sticks
and just start playing. Went to the beat and they're like,
oh that little girl can play. Yeah, and it was
another video. I think my mom still has that video
on Facebook. Well, when I started dancing, I was like,
went three four years old, mum. We were at a
(13:31):
dance engagement and the another piano was on the you know, pianos,
and but.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
No drummer there.
Speaker 4 (13:38):
I was like, n that still doesn't sound right. It
bring me back to the when I first started playing.
So I'm like, that just don't sound right. I it
need a beat to it. And so mind just wasn't
even my church, okay. So I just went up there
and I started playing the drums and piano like oh wow,
wait during the service, yeah, while they were saying.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
You just like walked in and walked up little me
and how old were you?
Speaker 3 (14:03):
It was like three years old? Four years old? Oh
my goodness, still on Facebook now wow.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
Okay, So one year that just reminds me of the
word audacity and audaciousness. So one year I do I
did fast every year, and I always to ask God
to give me a word, and one year he gave
me the word audacity. And you just reminded me of
that word, because audacity means basically to have the the attitude,
(14:32):
the grit, the guts to be able to go out
and do something or pursue something. And so I just
commend you for being able to follow that at such
a young age, to have the audacity to go on
stage in a good way and really just you know,
express your skills and your talents. And I just think
that's amazing that you've been able to kind of tap
(14:52):
into that, because some people shy away from their skills.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
And their talents and their gifts.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
And so have you ever been like in a moment
or a season where you felt like I need to
dial it back, or have you always just been like
hello world, like I'm run to I'm here, Or have
you ever been shy.
Speaker 4 (15:13):
Before I, like go on set on stage, whatever I'm
about to do. I do feel just a little shyness.
But the thing is, I just as I said, I
pray and I go up there with like a boost
of confidence and.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
I just get it done. It.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
It has been moments where I'm shy, but I just
push that shyness away. Because my dad and my mom
always said fears of the devil.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
So no, don't be f fearful.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
No, no, don't be fearful. I love that.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
Okay, so let's do a little imagination game. Okay, So
right now Veronica is at the top of her mountain,
the mountain top.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
We are at the peak of your success. Everything you Oh, okay,
well we gonna get over there with your eyes. You
have the peak of your success.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Everything you want to be, everything you want to become,
who you wanna represent, the people that you wanna impact,
right at the top of the mountain, right at the top, right,
What does your life look like at the top of
a mountain?
Speaker 4 (16:13):
Ooh, it looks beautiful with a lot of fruit and
vegetables I can pick every day.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
Ooh, okay, what does your life look like? What are
you doing? Who are you impacting? What networks are you on?
How many people have you influenced?
Speaker 1 (16:30):
What does that look like? Mm?
Speaker 4 (16:33):
I wanna influence a whole bunch of people, like millions
of people.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
I wanna still be on TV working with even.
Speaker 4 (16:39):
Tell Perry and the tip per of studios and just
making sure that I'm still successful but still humble.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
Still hobble.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
Okay, So question tell me, please, how does one stay
humble when they have collectively over two million people, over
two people that watch them on the daily basis, How
do you stay humble?
Speaker 1 (17:04):
Veronica?
Speaker 3 (17:05):
Oh, I stay humble. It's really just me.
Speaker 4 (17:09):
It's not even that I have to stay humbles. I
was always humble, so always calm person all. You know,
so the fruits of the spirit, so all of that
is just all. I just eat the fruits of the spirit.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
Really, you know. I love that.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
No, I love that answer. That's a great answer because
and that's a great mechanism to stay humble. I think
when you're solely focused on the fruits of the spirit
and those who know, if you know, you know what
we're talking about. If you don't look it up, look
it up, it's in the book. But no, I think
that's great, and I want to commend you for that.
(17:47):
And I think that's amazing that you can tap into
that and that you kind of know about those things
and that you're learning about those things. Cause I think
if you stay equipped with the fruits of the spirit,
it's kind of hard to be influenced by your flesh
or by worldly desires. And so yeah, no, I think
that's totally awesome. Okay, So when you're not creating content,
when you're not thinking about how to memorize a monologue
(18:09):
or how to memorize this voiceover, or scrolling on Instagram,
what are you doing?
Speaker 3 (18:15):
I love to play with my baby dolls. I actually
have one at the hotel now.
Speaker 4 (18:19):
I love to play with Barbie dolls, reborn dolls, like lifelike.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
Do they look like real babies? But?
Speaker 1 (18:24):
Yeah, you had one of those?
Speaker 3 (18:25):
I do. I had the one that feels real.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
What's her name? It's a boy or girl? Serenity. Girl.
I heard about those, so it's like a real it
feels like a real life baby.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
Why didn't you bring her today?
Speaker 3 (18:39):
You know? I should have.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
You should have rot Serenity. I would have been very
interested in that.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
I just had a baby, and my baby looks like
a porcelain baby doll. Yeah, she just hit two million
views because she looks like a baby doll.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
So I would have loved to meet Serenity because I
am interested in that. I've just heard.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
About the whole like baby, do that look real? So
that's very interesting. Okay, so do you still do like
imagination play with her or fear her?
Speaker 3 (19:08):
Ask my mom?
Speaker 4 (19:08):
I wanna go to the store every day just to
buy bottles diapers.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
This, sir, this surreal thing for the baby doll. Oh yeah,
she's serious.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
Oh my gosh, I can't believe we didn't bring serenity.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
I forget it to the point I told my sister.
She was like, girl, get that doll off my dog.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
Okay, Well, y'all have to send me please send me
ay like later I I definitely have to see that.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
Okay. So for people who are.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
Wanting to be, you know, maybe in the same field
that you are, when it comes to being a content
creator or an influencer, what's kind of the best words
of encouragement that you will.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
Give to them.
Speaker 4 (19:51):
God had gave me this word when I first started.
It's patience and consistency. You gotta be consistent with your
video and then be patient for it to flow up.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
I love that patience and consistency, which is difficult ca okay,
cause I'm a content creator and I'm grown, y'all, I'm
drown And so those are two of the I think
biggest facets like across the board, Like, no matter who
you are, I think that's amazing that you have those
as your two pillars, because that is the name of
the game.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
Ye really it is.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
When it comes to being a content creator, it's patience
and consistency. Yeah, and so with your content as you
continue to have a trajectory of where you move upward
and onward, which is what we're praying for. What is
it that, like people can expect from you in the future, Like,
how do you expect to expand over the next couple
(20:40):
of years.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
Basically, I still wanna do the things I'm doing now.
Speaker 4 (20:45):
I just wanna be you know, bigger, like you know
I am big now, but just popping more, you know,
branded type.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
And you know what, let's talk about that a little
bit because I think that's interesting. And I love that
you're honest about wanting to be famous, because a lot
of times nowadays, being famous it's taboo, like people think like, oh,
like it's like a stigma like wanting to be famous.
But no, like there's a lot of things that you
can leverage, especially being a Christian and a believer, with
(21:16):
the platform of being famous.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
