(00:01):
Let's talk burnout. I know thatsome of us go through so many things
through our lives, ups and downs. We're going this way, we're going
that way. But remember that youhave the tool inside of you, that
skill set, inside of your mindsetto push through. Burnout is a very
(00:22):
serious thing. What it is isbasically someone that actually just goes through life
and they go through so many things, they do so many different things,
and basically, I don't know,I know I went through a burnout.
I worked for so many companies,Red Bull North America, I work for
(00:44):
so many pharmaceutical companies. I workedfor so many marketing companies I work for
I worked for I was a marketingdirector for your Civity store, Chick fil
a marketing director for McDonald's. SoI've been all over the world traveling,
doing so many things. Do there'sso many events and being a brand ambassador
that I burned myself out. Andwhen I did the podcast, I hit
(01:07):
the ground running working at iHeart andI hit a wall, and I hit
a wall. When the pandemic hitin twenty nineteen, something cracked inside of
me. I don't know what itwas. Something cracking snapped inside of my
soul, where I went down intoa deep hole that I thought I couldn't
get out of. And some daysit's tough. Some days I have to
(01:30):
really talk myself through it, communicatewith myself and say I can push through
this some things. Some days areeasier than some other days. But we're
gonna get through this together. Butlet me tell you what it means to
go through a burnout, because alot of you experienced this thing. You're
working, you're not happy, you'redepressed, you're crying, you hate your
(01:51):
job. That's the worst. LikeI never had a job where I hate
what I did. I had twojobs that I know that I did not
enjoy because I just wasn't really good. If I have the skill set and
you know what, it just didn'twork out. But that's okay because we're
gonna get through this burnout together.I am not able to work because of
(02:14):
the burnout right now, because I'mgoing through recovery for what I went through
with my twoth voices. I wentthrough a pandemic scare. I went through
traumatic scare with mental depression, mentaldisabilities, and all other names that were
splashed all over the paper when Iwent through my mental breakdown and so it
(02:35):
was I was not able to workbecause I was it was due to my
severe social anxiety. I'm not ableto work due to excruciating burnout in the
past and still suffering from those symptoms. So when in stressful situations, I
experienced detachment, loss of motivation, decreased energy, may feel sluggish or exhausted,
just tired, and even simple tasksI feel overwhelmed to complete. I
(03:00):
find it difficult to engage in activitiesI normally find meaningful. You know,
sometimes when they have family time, and I'm the queen of family time.
I love family time, but sometimesI have to push myself way through it
because I want to clam up andget by myself sometimes, but no,
we can't do that because you haveyour loved ones. You have to get
out. You have to get upand do it if you're not working right
(03:21):
now because of the burnout. AndI'm speaking to those people too, because
we've always missed that point where you'vereached that point, and that point is
you have completely trashed and you havenothing else to give. So sometimes I
even find it difficult to engage inactivities I normally find meaningful. Again,
(03:44):
lack of creativity and find it difficultto concentrate. I used to be so
creative with the podcast. I interviewso many superstars and everybody again is a
celebrity on my show. But atthe same time, this is the thing,
I really really run myself ragged andthe news brought me down. Watching
bad news all the time is gonnabe bad news in your life. So
(04:09):
if you're watching bad news all thetime, like I don't watch TV only
when I get around my friends orfamily houses or something like that. But
when I tell you it's hard,and people don't understand, They're like,
well, how do you survive? How do you do this? How you
gonna do that? I said, well, I'm just getting through it.
I'm getting through it. I'm doingsome things on my end that I have
to sew on my end to surviveevery day to keep my place going.
(04:32):
Yet it's hard, it's not easy, but I'm getting through it. And
I was a business owner, andI find it difficult to work with new
people after so many years of puttingmy awe and I'm going to emphasize all
into other individuals and so many differentcompanies, and again I put my all
(04:54):
in these companies and I put myselfwithin their shoes as the owner. As
a mart director, you have tobecome the owner of the company and you
have to represent them as a representationof their company. So that is a
big deal. Even if you're havingfun, you still have to represent yourself.
(05:14):
You have to be one hundred percentevery time, not ninety five percent,
not ninety eight percent. Ninety nineand a half won't do. But
guess what. One hundred percent iswhat you have to give those companies when
you're in the marketing rem So Iunderstand if you're in a company where you
have to really push through and giveyour awe and you don't have anything else
(05:35):
to give, what do you do? Then I understand where you're coming from.
So don't get down yourself. Youhave to just tell yourself that you
can push through this. You canget through all of these things. And
then I experienced a major fatigue aftercompleting small tasks. Sometimes I have to
really take myself, you know,I have to take time with myself.
(05:57):
I'm not as what you what youcall it energized as I used to be
about certain things, and completing certaintasks can be a little havoc sometimes because
it's just naturally what you go throughwhen you're going through recovery from any kind
of mental disability or mental disorder,or some kind of traumatic situation in your
(06:18):
life that you've gone through. Sodon't get down on yourselves. And due
to my last mental events, includingbeing hospitalized, being court ordered to not
work, so I'm not even ableto work at this time, I'm giving
you a lot of information, butI don't mind because I want to let
I want to share my testimony withyou that I have in court ordered not
(06:40):
to work and I have been takingthat freedom away from me because of what
I've gone through, and recovery isnot easy, but I've gone through it
the best way I can, youknow, learning how to cope with the
world again, learning how to dealwith people again because I was a people
person. Being a marketing director, being a marketing and brasceteror or brand ambassador
(07:00):
for any company. You have togive it your one hundred percent. You
have to give it your all.And sometimes you don't want to show up
with the makeup full of face. You don't want a face full of makeup,
sorry the angel moment. You don'twanna You don't want to show up
for work on you know, youdon't want to be there. You want
(07:20):
to be on your time. Let'sjust put it out there. You want
to be on your time and people. Do not let people call you lazy.
Do not let somebody destroy your spiritualunless you are being lazy. I'm
not a lazy person. I stilltry to stay active. I go to
(07:41):
the gym, I try to,you know, get out in nature,
do the things that I love ona daily day basis. So listen,
that's the thing. This is thekey to life. Stay strong. I
know this is not easy, butwe can all do this together. And
you know it's it's just been ajourney that has been growing on me and
(08:05):
I'm growing as I go through myrecovery right now. It's not the easiest
thing. You go through so manythings. Listen. I was just laughing
and talking. I was actually facetimedwith one of my friends and I was
like, I can't believe Angel Howardwent through what she went through. I
can't believe Angel Howard was mentally hospitalizedfour times. I could in twenty twenty
(08:28):
three, twenty twenty two, twentytwenty one, was really like, oh
well, I'm gonna be honest, twenty nineteen twenty twenty three was really tough
for me. Those were some toughyears. But you know what, I
look back at it now and Ilaugh because I'm still here. I'm still
going. And guess what, you'restill here. If you're listening to this
(08:48):
and you're having a tough time rightnow wherever you are, Canada, shout
out to you. Thank you,You've been so awesome. Of course,
the USA, you're my major fans. But at the same time, I
look and see who's viewing my showingand I see that you guys are showing
up and you're showing out, andI thank you so much for just being
there for me and being there foreach other. If you know someone,
(09:13):
sometimes it's not all about you.You might not be going through this.
You might be just skipping through lifeand having a good time. And that's
a good thing, and I'm happyfor you. But if you know someone
that's going through this and you seesome changes in their lifestyles, talk to
them, be there for them, show up for them, be around them,
try to talk to them and belike loving and kind and joyful,
(09:37):
because you just never know what somebody'sgoing through. Well, I'm not gonna
hold you. It's getting real hotup in here because I'm so fired up
about the next journey in our life. You have a blessed one,
