Speaker 1 (00:21):
Hello, Welcome to the Porch on Firefall Talk Radio. I'm
Richard Grunn. This is where you find the uncompromised red
letter basics of the Word of God, where we focus
on the Book of Acts Church to see how they
serve the Lord. When we do that, we find the
Church the Lord intended and not the one Man created.
(00:42):
The Porch is a non denominational, full Gospel approach to
the Bible. It's based on the examples of the Book
of Acts Church, and it aims to restore the priesthood
of the believer while regaining the world's shaking influence that
the early Church had. The Church age isn't over. The
Upper Room experience is as much for today as it
(01:06):
was on the day of Pentecost. It's yours if you
want it. We offer you the Word as the Apostles
would have to the Jewish and gentile believers of their day,
using both Yeshua and Jesus. When speaking of the Lord,
we prefer the term Messiah rather than Christ, as it
more accurately reflects how he was referred to by those
(01:28):
who knew him. Additionally, we provide definitions in Hebrew, Greek,
and Aramaic when necessary. Getting back to basics isn't just
a motto, it's a mandate from the Lord. Links to

Thank you for being a part of the Porch community.
Contact us if you need prayer, would like to pray
for others. A prayer you mail is going out this week.
Remember we care about you. Pray for healing. That bug
(02:33):
is going around. I sound better than I did yesterday,
but you know what, We live in a fallen world.
These things happen, but we persevere and we press on.
But prayer for that would be great. Prayer for healing,
about pain and injuries and anything else that's going on.
Pray for my wife, deb she's dealing with an issue,
(02:55):
pain issue, a healing issue to do with her shoulder.
And and I pray for you right now, all of
you listening. I'm going off script here, not that there
really is one Father. In the name of your Shuahamashia,
I just pray right now for everyone who is sick,
who is ill, who's injured in heart, in mind, and body,
(03:16):
soul or spirit. I pray right now that you would
touch them from heaven, that the Bamba Gilead would just
envelop them and be poured upon them, that from the
inside out you would fix what is wrong and make
will right what the enemy has put its hand to. Father,
(03:37):
we bind the spirit of infirmity and the enemy in
every way, shape and form. And we loose your promises,
which are yea and Amen upon my brothers, my sisters,
and myself and my home and my family. And you
show us name. Amen. Pray for our persecuted brothers and
sisters around the world. It has increased and it will
(03:58):
increase until the Lord comes back. Pray for the peace
of Jerusalem. We've been mandated to do so by scripture.
Does matter whether you like the politics or you like
the people in charge, you need to pray for the
peace of Jerusalem, because ultimately that means the return of
(04:19):
the Prince of Peace. Father, we come to you now
in the name of your son, the name above all names,
that name which has allowed us access to the Holy
of Holies, to boldly approach your throne of grace and mercy,
saying Abbah Papa Daddy, we thank you for loving us
(04:39):
when we were unlovable. We thank you for sending you
shure to die for us, to pay for our sins,
so that we could be reconciled to you, so that
veil could be torn in two and you could get
out and we could get in. Thank you, Lord, Thank
you for the Cross, for the empty tomb, the upper room,
(05:02):
for sending back the Holy Spirit, for everything you've done,
everything you're doing, and everything that you will do. Thank
you seems so oh cheap a word. There should be
a better word, but that's what we've got along with.
We love you loving thanks from our heart, Holy Spirit.
We need your help, we need your guidance, we need
(05:24):
your empowerment, we need your wisdom. Right now as we
head into this word, as we study this word as
we study more about you and the things that you
do for the Kingdom, for the Father and the Son.
We take our thoughts captive to the obedience of Messiah.
We claim the mind of Messiah, casting down every vain
(05:45):
imagination that would exalt itself above the knowledge of elyon
God most high hour, Abba Father, we bind the powers
of darkness in every way, shape and form, command them
to be silent, to retreat protection over the technology that
this word would go forth and do as you desire
(06:06):
it to do. And we pray all these things in
your shoe his name. Amen.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
These lessons are proprietary information, except where not of the
information comes from outside sources. The combination of that information.
The manner presented is exclusive cannot be repeated or used
without permission. The date of this broadcast serves as the
registered date of the following information. So we're still talking
about the Holy Spirit from the day of Pentecosta. Now,
(06:55):
the Holy Spirit has been speaking. He's been speaking to
his church and his church. His presence and his words
bear fruit for the Kingdom of God. That's what it's
all about. It's not about a man. It's not about
a denomination. Abomination of building. It's not about any of
those things. It is about the Kingdom. It is about
(07:16):
furthering the kingdom, is about spreading the Gospel. It's about
the coming of the King. Galatians Chapter five, verses twenty
two and twenty three say, but the fruit of the
Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,
(07:41):
self control. Against such, there is no law.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
Now. I was going to start teaching on spiritual warfare
in the such, and the Lord reminded me that there
can be no warfare, there can be no use of
the Holy Spirit, there can be no fplementation of the
gifts of the Spirit unless we had and understood the
(08:05):
fruit of the Spirit, because that is what guides everything
we do. The ninefold fruit of the Spirit love, joy, peace,
long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control the fruit
of the Spirit fruit singular. It emphasizes that these qualities
(08:28):
are mutually dependent aspects of the life of a believer.
Remember he said he's divine, we're the branches. Well, if
that's the case, then this fruit, then the Holy Spirit
delivers the fruit. True spirituality comes from living under the
(08:51):
control of the Holy Spirit and his evidenced by manifested
by the fruit of the spirit. People say, oh, well,
you know, if I want to know that you have
the Holy Spirit in you, you speak in tongues, that
you move in the gifts. I say more than that.
While that is a part of it, you will have
the fruit of the spirit because you can do all
(09:13):
those things. And Paul will point that out. But if
you don't have love, it's worthless. And the fruit of
the Spirit shows spiritual maturity, and it shows that you're
growing in holiness because the Holy Spirit won't be where unholiness.
Unholiness is holy, holy holy. The spiritual life and growth
(09:35):
of believers is likened to a fruit bearing tree. You're
known by the fruit you produce, and fruit is evidence
of the health and vitality of the tree. So a
believer's life, a believer in your shoohamashield Jesus the Messiah.
The attitudes and behavior should reflect the presence of the
(09:55):
Holy Spirit. I shouldn't look at you and think that
you are baptized in picklejuice. I should see some joy,
I should see some life. I should see light. And
the fruit is manifest evidence of the life in which God,
(10:15):
the Spirit of God is living and raining. It is
the manifest evidence of a life in which the Spirit
of God is living and raining. The fruit of the
Spirit the virtues that manifest the reality of a life
in the Lord. Yes, she implied that the character of
(10:37):
life is determined by its presence by the fruit it produces.
These are virtues, the fruit of the spirit. They are
authentic examples of the character produced and those who walk
by the spirit. The Dictionary of Bible Themes says fruitfulness
is seen as a sign of blessing and close to God,
(11:01):
just as barrenness may be seen as the sign of
God's disfavor. Scripture stresses that faith is given in order
that it may bear fruit. So with Paul's teaching, what
he's essentially saying is that the gifts of the spirit
are only effective, worthwhile, or capable of edifying the body
(11:26):
when they are exercised in the proper way. And that
way is love not just any love and a godpe love.
A goape love is spontaneous, divine love. It's strong, it's ardent,
it's tender, it's compassionate. It has a devotion to the
well being of someone. A gape love is the most
(11:50):
important love there is, and it stands at the head
of the list. It's number one. And we see Paul
emphasize that in one Corinthians thirteen, I need to back
up to One Corinthians twelve, verses twenty nine and thirty one.
Are all apostles, are all prophets, are all teachers? Are
(12:11):
all workers of miracles? Do all have the gifts of healing?
Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly
desire the best gifts? And yet I show you a
more excellent way. Picks up in First Corinthians thirteen to one.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels,
(12:32):
clearly signifying the two kinds of tongues, men human or angelic,
but have not love. I have become sounding brass or
clanging symbol. I've become a performer. I become someone selling something.
And though I have the gift of prophecy and understand
all mysteries and all knowledge, And though I have all
(12:54):
faith so that I could remove mountains, but have not love,
I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods
to feed the poor, and though I give my body
to be burned, but have not love. It profits me nothing.
Love suffers long and is kind. Love does not envy.
Love does not parade itself. It's not puffed up. It
(13:18):
does not behave rudely. It does not seek its own
It's not provoked, thinks no evil, does not rejoice in iniquity,
but rejoices in the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes,
all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether
(13:41):
there are prophecies, they will fail. Whether there are tongues,
they will cease. And that is at the coming of
the Lord, when the Church is no longer here, When
whether there is knowledge, it will vanish. For we know
in part, and we prophes I impart. But when that
which is perfect has come, then that which is in
part will be done away. When I was a child,
(14:05):
I spoke as a child, I understood as a child.
I thought as a child. But when I became a man,
when I became an adult, I put away childish things.
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then
face to face. Now I know in part, but then
I shall know just as I am known. And now abide, faith, hope, love,
(14:31):
These three. But the great greatest of these is love.
Now there's a section there the people used to say
tongues cease. It says they will cease. When will they cease?
When I come face to face with the Lord. He
clarifies the timing of all of this, when we're no
longer here, when the Church has been taken out of here,
(14:54):
and the Spirit does not need to communicate to us
and through us at that time. Love characterizes our heavenly Father,
and when performed by his children, love fulfills the law
Romans thirteen ten. Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore,
(15:15):
love is the fulfillment of the law. If you love
him with all your heart, mind, soul, and spirit, then
you'll do as he said to do out of love,
not out of obligation. And then you will treat your
neighbor as yourself because of love. It is a self
giving action for the benefit of others, and it's not
(15:38):
necessarily an emotion. It can be. But the best example
of the kind of love we're talking about, as you see,
is self giving on the Cross Ephesians five twenty five. Husbands,
love your wives, just as Messiah also loved the church
and gave himself for her The home and Illustrated Bible
(16:01):
Dictionary describes a God by love as unselfish, loyal, and
benevolent intention and commitment towards another. The concept of the
love of God is deeply rooted in the Bible. The
Hebrew term for love is cassette, loving kindness, mercy, steadfastness,
but steadfast love, loyalty, it's faithfulness. It refers to a
(16:25):
covenant love. Jehovah, God who remembers and keeps his covenants
in spite of all the treachery of his people, does
so in love. His faithfulness in keeping promises proves his
love for Israel and all his children. Another word, ahavah,
(16:48):
can be used of human love towards oneself, another person
of the opposite sex. Another person in general is mentioned
as used of God's love. Jeremiah mentions it thirty one three.
I have loved you with an everlasting love ahaah. Therefore
I have drawn you with loving kindness cassette. In a
(17:12):
New Testament, there were three Greek words used for love.
Let me back up. In New Testament times, there were
three Greek words used for love, Aros, fialo, and agape.
(17:33):
Aros r s is the name of the Greek God
of love for sex, desire, and passion, and it's never
used in the Bible. Falao refers to tender affection toward
a friend or family member. It's used to express God,
the Father's love for Yeshuah in John five point twenty,
(17:57):
God's love for an individual believer in sixteen twenty seven,
and of ye was love for his disciple John and
John twenty verse two. The word falleo has never used
for a person's love towards God. The word agape is
(18:17):
used by believers to denote the special, unconditional love of God,
and it can be used interchangeably with falao. We see
that when the Father loves the son and has given
all things into his hands. And John three point thirty five,
it's the father's love for Yeshuah. It's a father's love
(18:41):
for an individual believer, and it's the Messiah's love as
I mentioned for the disciple John, Now there was leaning
on your shoe's bosom, one of his disciples whom y
Shoa loved. Love is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.
And because it is a fruit of the spirit, it
(19:04):
is not directed towards the world or the things of
the world. First, John chapter two, starting verse fifteen. Do
not love the world or the things in the world.
If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father
is not in him. For all that is in the world,
the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes,
(19:27):
and the pride of life, is not of the Father,
but is of the world, which means you cannot love
the world. You cannot love the things of the world
and love the Father too. They are incompatible. Like oil
and water, they will never mix. And the ultimate example
(19:50):
is in John thirteen thirty four, a new commandment. The
Lord says, I give to you that you love one
another as I have loved you, that you also love
one another. It's all about love. The father's love for
the son, the Father's love for us, the Lord's love
for us, and our love for one another. All the
(20:11):
same love is applied. Says it again in John fifteen twelve.
This is my commandment, that you love one another as
I have loved you. Paul talks about it in Romans
twelve ten. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love.
For Lao in honor giving preference to one another mentions
(20:36):
it again in one Thessalonians four nine. But concerning brotherly love,
you have no need that I should write to you,
for you yourselves are taught by God to love one
another Hebrews thirteen. One, Let brotherly love continue. Gee, you
think there's something to this that's getting repeated a lot.
(21:02):
Verse Peter Chapter three, verses eight and nine. Finally, all
of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another,
love as brothers, Be tender hearted, be courteous, not returning
evil for evil, or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, blessing,
knowing that you are called to this, that you may
(21:24):
inherit a blessing. Peter talks about it again in Second
Peter chapter one, starting verse five. It's a fruitful growth
in faith. But also for this very reason, giving all diligence.
Add to your faith, virtue to virtue, knowledge to knowledge,
self control, to self control, perseverance to perseverance, godliness, to godliness,
(21:51):
brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these
things are yours and abound, you will neither be barren
nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus the Messiah.
For he who lacks these things is shortsighted. Even to blindness,
(22:12):
and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
You know, it must have been really important that the
apostles kept talking about it in great length. I know
I've shared this before, but when the Lord took me
to a new level in the ministering deliverance to people,
(22:33):
he explained to me that I hated demons more than
I loved people. And once I asked him to fill
me with his love every time I ministered to somebody.
No longer did it take two and three and four hours.
It was over within the hour. Love was the power.
His love was the power. First John chapter two, starting
(22:55):
verse seven, Brethren, I write no new commandment to you,
but an old commandment, which you have had from the beginning.
The old commandment is the word which you heard from
the beginning. Again, a new commandment. I write to you,
which thing is true in him and in you? Because
the darkness is passing away and the true light is
(23:17):
already shining. He who says he's in the light and
hates his brother is in darkness. Until now he who
loves his brother abides in the light, and there's no
cause for stumbling in him. But he who hates his brother,
is in darkness and walks in darkness and does not
(23:38):
know where he is going because the darkness has blinded
his eyes. You know, the stroll just rolled up in
my spirit. Recently, Charlie Kirk, as you well know, was assassinated,
and there are a lot of emotional opinions about him
on both sides of the equation. But I've seen supposed
believers say some very ugly loving things about him in
(24:02):
a very ugly, almost demonic way, and they came to
mind as I read First John two seven through eleven.
So we're called to hate the sin, but love the
sinner when I call to condone the sin, when I
call to pardon the sin, when I called to accept
the sin. But we're called to hate the sin but
(24:23):
love the sinner. Because we were once sinners, we were
once in bondage. We understand how that feels, and loving
the sinner brings the fruit of repentance. I'm perfect example
of that. Instead of beating me over the head with
the Bible, I was loved into the kingdom. Do you
(24:45):
have any of those aspects of the kind of love
I'm talking about in you? If you do, you have
borne fruit and it pleases him. But you have to
have the gifts with the fruit one Corinthians fourteen one.
Pursue love and desire spiritual gifts. There's a correlation there,
(25:11):
love and spiritual gifts. His love Romans five to five. Now,
hope does not disappoint because the love of God has
been poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
who was given to us. Where'd the love of God
come from? It's given to you by the Holy Spirit.
(25:33):
It is a gift of the spirit. And because of
that you have hope. Right now, there's a lot of
hopeless people, even people that can't claim to be believers.
They have set their mind and their eyes and their
heart on the world and the things of the world
and the pressures thereof, and that've been squeezed, and the
(25:55):
enemy's squeezing very hard. I could easily say what everybody said,
get super spiritual. It's the spirit of Python. Brother, It's
wrapped itself around you. Maybe maybe not. It could be us,
it could be stressed, it could be things we've done
to ourselves, whether it's demonic or whether it's human instinct,
humanly instigated. It's no good. It's unhealthy, been there done.
(26:20):
That we need to take that love and that hope,
which we know does not disappoint, and apply it to
every part of our life Phesians two, starting verse four.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of his
(26:41):
great love with which he loved us, even when we
were dead and trespassed us, made us alive together with Messiah.
By grace, you have been saved and raised us up
together and made us sit together in the heavenly places
with Messiah. You're sure that in the ages to come,
he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in
(27:04):
kindness towards us. In Messiah issue for by grace you
have been saved through faith, that not of yourselves. It
is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone
should boast for we who are His workmanships created in
(27:25):
Messiah issue of for good works which God prepared beforehand,
that we should walk in them. But you can't walk
in anything, You can't produce anything without being born again
and filled with the Holy Spirit. John fifteen talked about
(27:47):
this a lot, this fruitfulness. What the Lord said, I
am the true grapevine, and my father is the gardener.
This is the new Living Translation He cuts off every
branch of mine that doesn't produce fruit, and then he
prunes the branches that do produce fruit so they will
produce even more. He presents their God, the Father Abbah,
(28:10):
as the gardener in this vineyard. And the relation of
the believer to God is that he is the owner
of the vineyard. He tends it, He waters it, and
endeavors to protect it, and cultivates it so that it
produces its maximum yield. Continued production, therefore, depends upon constant
(28:40):
union with the source of that fruitfulness is the Father,
the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The success of believers
depends on the constant flow of the Holy Spirit. That's
the sap of the vine, the flow of the spirit
in their life, which connects us to the Lord. So
how much fruit you produce is dependent upon the free
(29:03):
flow of the spirit in you. It's something blocking it.
Is there a sin, a besetting sin? Is there something unforgiveness?
You'd have to figure that out. You'd have to go
before him. If given the time and the permission, through revelation,
knowledge and a word of wisdom, I could probably tell you.
(29:24):
But it's best found through self revelation, so that you
can do it again if you need to. You don't
have to constantly run to somebody else for your answers.
But fruit bearing is not only possible, but it is
assured if the branch remains in union with the vine.
(29:45):
If the life of Messiah saturates soaks a disciple, fruit
will be inevitable. Gee, where we've heard that's soaking m
it'san Jerusalem. You are endued with power from on behind
till it's soaked into you. And it's not outward religion.
(30:10):
It's not behavior. Otherwise the Pharisees would have had it.
They don't. They didn't, they never will. The religious spirit
so prevalent in the church today, doesn't have what we're
talking about here. So it's not outward religion. It's the
internal manifestation of the Holy Spirit, the fruit of the Spirit,
(30:33):
and because of that you will have righteousness, peace, and joy.
So being fruitful is a byproduct of your relationship with
the Lord and an aspect of living in the Kingdom
of God. So are you producing fruit the fruit that
(30:53):
we're going to be talking about, love, peace, joy. Of
the first three we're talking about tonight, we'll talk about
three each week, and then we'll get into applying all
of this. So the biblical love is its object, its motivator,
(31:14):
and its source is God. It's Abbah, it's Papa, it's Daddy,
that outgoing, self giving kind of love which represents God
himself when he loved the world, that he gave them
his only begotten son, that fruit of the spirit. Please
(31:45):
do not try to apply it to the world. You
can't love them both like Mammon. You'll hate one and
love the other. A believer who is controlled by the
Holy Spirit, by the Ruaka Kadesh, shows qualities that reflect
(32:09):
supernatural Godliness beyond the requirements of the law. See the
thing about the law. Ten commandments still in effect. By
the way, the thing about the law, it's impossible to
humanly fulfill. If it could have been fulfilled by man,
he wouldn't have sent you shoe it to die for it.
(32:30):
He wouldn't have had to use the blood of lambs
every year to cover the sins of the people, because
the people are never going to live up to every
aspect of the law. You fell in one aspect, you
fall in it all. And I don't care what my
contemporary Jewish brothers and sisters say. It is still in effect,
you can outstand before him at the end and be
(32:52):
judged by the law. If you are, you lose lose
an eternity with him. You lose that love that he
would shine upon you for all of eternity, and you
will spend it with hostaton on the fallen in a
lake of fire. Not because he wants to put you there.
(33:15):
You have chosen to be there. Such a life of
the spirit, of such a life of spirit promoted love
doesn't happen automatically. It doesn't go on automatically. It's not
flip the switch, and it's always going to be there.
It's necessary for you and I to remain consciously in
(33:39):
step with the spirit, walking with the spirit. It's not
easy to do it, but it's worth it. It's much easy
to walk with the world. It's much easier to say,
like we did as children, I don't want to hold
your hand anymore. I want to walk by myself. I'm independent.
(34:03):
So the gifts of the spirit we have mentioned now,
the fruit of the spirit, three clusters of three. That
first cluster love, joy and peace, internal, internal, super natural.
(34:24):
Do yourself a favor every day when you pray, and
hopefully you're praying first thing in the morning. Hopefully you're
applying all the things we've talked about here over the years.
Hopefully you're reading Psalm ninety one out loud over yourself
and your family. Because love, joy, and peace, you can't
(34:49):
create it on your own. You can't make it happen
through humanistic teachings or secular programs. The kind of love,
the kind of joy and peace I'm talking about the
Holy Spirit must do and joy. Yeah, that's where we
(35:09):
are right now. Joy is produced by the Spirit and
it's not dependent upon your circumstances. There's a tough one.
I know. I struggle with it. It's a constant battle,
even in trials. Believers can retain their joy of the
(35:31):
Lord and that will prevent them from giving way to
total despair. And despair is like a spirit. It will
envelop you. It will draw the darkness to you until
you can't see and you're completely overwhelmed. While love is
clearly attributed to God, joy is not so clearly linked.
(35:58):
Its character as a divine gift is obvious in the
context of the scriptures I'm going to share, but we
all know what a struggle it is to hold on
to the joy. The enemy is constantly trying to steal
your joy. You need to get the joy, joy, joy
(36:21):
down in your heart right Romans fourteen seventeen. For the
Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness
and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. It's a
byproduct of the Kingdom of God, righteousness, peace, and joy.
(36:47):
Romans fifteen thirteen. Now may the God of Hope fill
you with all joy and peace in believing that you
may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
That by the power of the Holy Spirit, you will
(37:08):
abound in hope and overflow with confidence in His promises,
holding on to the promises of God, living by faith
and not by sight, fighting through what the enemy is
trying to put on you that shield of faith. Sometimes
we move it. Sometimes the enemy gets a shot in.
(37:32):
Then the spirit's got to come from the inside out
and burn up that arrow. The Home and Illustrated Bible
Dictionary says joy is a state of delight and well
being that results from knowing and serving God. A number
of Greek and Hebrew words are used to convey the
(37:52):
ideas of joy and rejoicing. We have the same situation
in English. English with such nearly synonymous words as joy, happiness, pleasure, delight, gladness, merriment,
and enjoyment. The words joy and rejoice are the words
(38:13):
used most often to translate the Hebrew and the Greek
words into English. Joy is found over one hundred and
fifty times in the Bible. If such words as joyous
and joyful are included, the number comes to over two hundred.
(38:33):
The verb rejoice appears well over two hundred times all
by itself. Joy is the fruit of a right relationship
with God. It's not something you can create on your
own efforts. And the Bible distinguishes joy from pleasure. In
the Greek day when Paul's speaking, the Greek word for
(38:57):
pleasure is word from which we get the word hedonism.
It's a philosophy of self centered pleasure seeking. It's what
we see a lot today. Everything's about joy, personal joy,
pleasuring from the things of the world and other people
and what you buy and where you go and what
(39:18):
you wear. Nothing could be a bigger lie. God himself
knows joy, and he wants his people, his children to
know joy. Joy is divine, yes it is human, and
yes it can be an emotion. But we're talking about
(39:40):
his joy. He back at three eighteen. Yet I will
rejoice in the Lord. I will joy in the God
of my salvation, Psalm sixteen eleven. You will show me
the path of life. In your presence is the fullness
of joy at your right hand, and our pleasures forevermore.
(40:03):
Think about that. In his presence is the fullness of joy.
How do we get into his presence? Through the blood?
Through the cross, empty tomb, upper room, we get into
the throne room wherein his presence the Holy Spirit connects
us to him. So doesn't matter where we are, he
is too. If you have lost your joy, then the
(40:27):
enemy's either blocking it or you're looking in the wrong direction.
So the Bible distinguishes joy from pleasure. Joy, Rejoice, rejoice
in Lloyd always again, I say rejoice. Paul mentions two
Timothy three for the false teacher, the lovers of pleasure
(40:49):
rather than lovers of God. It's that self centered, self
seeking thing I mentioned before. Now we want a state
of delight and well being that comes from knowing and
serving God. I've served the world. I've been in the world.
I've had more joy and more happiness and more freedom
(41:10):
and serving God. Yeah, I've had some troubles, I've had
some wars, I've had some attacks, I've had some setbacks.
But on all those, I know that the Lord's always
with me. So I have a state of delight. I've
a state of well being. Why because I know the Lord,
(41:31):
I know my heavenly Father, I know the one who
spoke everything into existence. I hold on to that even
when the enemy's pounding, even when the enemy sometimes get
you off your feet and you're down on the ground,
you're in a fetal position, you're covered up, and they're
kicking and punching and reviling. You start singing, start praising,
(41:52):
and then get back up on your feet and push back.
So as I said, Several Greek and Hebrew words convey
the ideas of joy and rejoicing. In the Hebrew sempcha,
it's joy, it's mirth, it's gladness, it's it's it's an
(42:16):
action word. In the Greek it's kasha r a, which
is joy and gladness or cairo to rejoice, will be glad.
So it's a state of being more than it's an emotion.
(42:37):
It's the result of a choice. I choose to be joyful.
My circumstances say hey, now you don't want to be
you want to put that joy thing away right now. Nope, sorry,
I'm going to trust in the Lord with all my heart.
I'm not going to lean on my own understanding. I
will acknowledge Him in all my ways, and he will
(43:00):
direct my path, and that path will be in love,
joy and peace. We can rejoice because we walk with
the Lord and He walks with us. Ari Torri says
He is the source of all joy, he said. Ari
Toy says this. I presume everybody has known someone whose
life was just radiant. Joy beamed out of their eyes,
(43:25):
Joy bubbled over lips, Joy seemed to fairly run from
their fingertips. You could not come in contact with them
without having a new light come into your own life.
They were great electric batteries charged with joy. If you
look into the lives of such radiantly happy persons, not
(43:48):
those people who are sometimes in the valley, but people
who are always irradiantly happy, you will find that everyone
is a man or a woman who spends a great
deal of time. I'm in prayer alone with God. God
is the source of all joy. And if we come
in contact with him, his infinite joy comes into our lives.
(44:15):
Philippians four four. Always be full of joy in the Lord,
and I say again, rejoice. So the fruit of a
spirit lead life is joy, and sin in a believer's
life robs the person of joy. Psalm fifty one, verses
(44:37):
seven through eight, and then verse twelve says this, urge
me with hissip, and I shall be clean. Wash me
and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me hear
joy and gladness, that the bones you have broken may rejoice.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation. Uphold me
by your generous spirit. Nehemiah eight ten. Do not sorrow,
(45:04):
for the joy of the Lord is your strength one
Peter one Thurting, verse six. In this you greatly rejoice,
though now for a little while, if need be, you
have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of
your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes,
though it is tested by fire, may be found to
(45:26):
praise honor and glory of the revelation of Jesus, the Messiah, whom,
having not seen you love, though now you do not
see him. Yet believing you rejoice with joy inexpressible and
full of glory. Join the Lord enables people to enjoy
(45:46):
all that God has given. Psalm five' eleven. Let all
those rejoice put their trust in you. Let them ever
shout for joy, because you defend them. Let those also
who love your name be joyful in you. I'm speaking.
Do you hear me? Let those who love your name,
(46:07):
those who love his name, be joyful and rejoice in him.
What's going on right now? What is the world done?
What has the enemy done? What have you done? How
have you lost your joy? How have you lost it?
You know on? Rejoice in your salvation, Rejoice in Him,
love him, love his name, Be joyful, rejoice in Colaustions one.
(46:35):
Starting verse nine, Paul says this for this reason we also,
since the day we heard it, do not cease to
pray for you and to ask that you may be
filled with the knowledge of His will and all wisdom
and spiritual understanding, that you may walk worthy of the Lord,
fully pleasing him, being fruitful, being fruitful in every good work,
(46:56):
and increasing in the knowledge of God, strengthened with all
al might according to His glorious power, for all patience
and long suffering, with joy Isaiah sixty one ten. I
will greatly rejoice in the Lord. My soul shall be
joyful in my God, for he has clothed me with
(47:22):
garments of salvation. He has covered me with a robe
of righteousness. As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and
as a bride adorns herself with jules. The fundamental fact
of the sovereignty of God, our Father, of the equity
of his divine government, his government governing in the world,
(47:50):
gives to the godly, those who are walking upright righteously
before him, a joyous sense of security in life, which
breaks forthwhit and songs of praise in which even nature
is called upon to join. In Psal ninety six, starting
verse eleven, let the heavens rejoice, Let the earth be glad,
(48:15):
Let the sea roar and all its fullness, Let the
field be joyful, and all that is in it. Then
all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the Lord,
for he is coming. For he is coming to judge
the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness and
(48:35):
the people with truth. Let the heavens rejoice, Let the
earth be glad, let the sea roar, let the field,
be joyful, for he is coming. Our joy is in him.
In his presence is the fullness of joy. His presence
(48:58):
brings peace, and that's the last aspect we'll talk about today.
Peace in the Greek irene means quietness, means rest, very
much like the Hebrew word shallom, stoundness and blessing in God,
something so many people lack today. We see it mentioned
(49:22):
as a prophecy in Luke chapter one, when Zecharias prophesies
over John the Baptist's Ministry, verses seventy six through seventy nine.
And you child will be called the prophet of the Highest,
for you will go before the face of the Lord
to prepare his ways, to give the knowledge of salvation
to his people by the remission of their sins. Through
(49:45):
the tender mercy of our God, with which the days
spring from on high, has visited us to give light
to those who sicken sit in darkness. Yes they are sick,
but they sit in darkness and the shadow of death.
To guide our feet into the way of peace, Peace, shalom, quietness, rest.
(50:13):
We see Peter mention it Acts chapter ten, starting verse
thirty four, and Peter opened his mouth. This is after
the spirit fell on that began to speak in tongues
and truth. I perceive that God shows no partiality. But
in every nation, whoever fears Him and works righteousness is
(50:35):
accepted by him. The word which God sent to the
children of Israel preaching peace through your Shuahamashiah, Jesus the Messiah.
He is Lord of all the preaching peace. The good
news is peace. Get saved, get out of the clutches
of this fallen world. Romans five to one says this. Therefore,
(51:07):
having been justified by faith, we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus the Messiah. Because we have peace
with God, we have the peace of God and manifest
in our lives. Let me say that again. Because we
have peace with God, we have the peace of God
manifest in our lives. Peace, tranquility, calmness that is ministered
(51:34):
two believers by the Holy Spirit to sustain them in
this life. You cannot exist in this fallen world without
that peace. You'll go crazy, You'll have a breakdown. Second
Corinthians thirteen eleven. Finally, brethren, farewell, become complete, be of
(51:56):
good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace, and
the God of love and peace will be with you.
The Holy Spirit brings a sense of well being, contentment,
and wholeness to believers, whatever their outward circumstances. And it
(52:17):
feels horrible when we lose it, doesn't it When we
let the world or the enemy or circumstances trip us up,
and the next thing, you know, we're focused on the problems.
We're focused on the outward circumstances. And it takes prayer
sometimes just getting down on your knees and getting down
on your face or wherever it is you have to get. Say, Lord,
(52:38):
help me break this off of me. I want that
peace back, Holy Spirit. I need your presence, because peace
indicates the presence of the Holy Spirit. Isaiah thirty two
prophesied in verses fifteen through seventeen. Until the Spirit capitalists
(52:59):
is poured on us from on high, which day of Pentecost,
and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful
field is counted as a forest, then justice will dwell
in the wilderness, and righteousness will remain in the fruitful field.
The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect
(53:21):
of righteousness quietness and assurance forever since through the Spirit,
the love, joy and peace of God, are present to
all believers, are available to all believers. Shouldn't we act appropriately?
(53:44):
I'm speaking myself in there. Whenever I use we, I
mean me too. If the spirit not. If when the
Spirit delivers the love join peace that we're talking about,
and it's present, it's available, shouldn't our lives indicate it?
(54:07):
Colossians three point fifteen. Let the peace of God rule
in your hearts to which you were called in one body,
and be thankful Father. I thank you Lord, I thank
you Holy Spirit. I thank you for this peace, wonderful,
abiding peace. I pray for it to go deeper in
(54:30):
my heart. I pray for it to go deeper and
deeper and deeper, so that it can never be taken away,
it can never be squashed. We're struggling in a fallen world.
Who wants to bring chaos and confusion and destruction Romans
(54:52):
eighty six. For to be carnally minded is death. To
be spiritually minded is life and what peace? Now? The
mind of the flesh is death, both now and forever
before it pursues sin. But the mind of the Spirit
is life and peace. The supernatural well being that comes
(55:14):
from walking with God, both now and forever. You know,
when they say peace peace and sudden destruction will come
upon them, it's talking about worldly peace. Peace Man has negotiated, peace,
Man has created. There can be no peace without the
Prince of Peace. So we want life and we want peace,
(55:39):
and we want it in the Holy Spirit, and we
want it with the Lord, and we want it with
our Father. So that we can be anxious for nothing
but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, we
can let our request be made known to God. And
the peace of God, the Shalam of God, which surpasses
(55:59):
all under standing, will guard your hearts and minds through Messiah.
You're sure. It's Philippians four, verses six and seven. Be
anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication,
with thanksgiving, Thank Him before it even happens. Thank him
(56:20):
for what he's done forty he's doing and what he
will do. Let your request be made known to God
in the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding. Doesn't
make any sense, doesn't say passes all understanding, surpasses makes
absolutely natural sense, will guard your heart and minds through Messiah.
(56:45):
You're sure. So when you look at this, you see
something at least I did love, joy and peace with
the Lord's intention all along. It wasn't strife, even in
the warfare. It was going to be love, joy and peace.
(57:07):
He said so in John fourteenth fifteen through nineteen. If
you love me, keep my commandments, love one another as
I have loved you, a greater commandment and all that.
And I will pray the Father. I will pray Abah,
and he will give you another helper that he may
abide with you forever, the spirit of truth, whom the
world cannot receive because it neither sees him nor it
knows him. But you know him, for he dwells with
(57:30):
you and will be in you. I will not leave
you orphans. I will come to you. Oh come, Lord
Chi a little while longer, and the world will see
me no more. But you will see me. Because I live,
you will live also. I will come to you. The
(57:55):
Lord says. I know he's coming. I know the King
is coming. My hope is in the Lord. My joy
is in the Lord. Yes, I falter, Yes I get squeezed.
Sometimes I get blindsided. You know I've shared this before,
(58:15):
whether through martial arts or boxing or other things. The
one problem I always had and fighting and sparring. Is
I don't like to get hit. I've had to learn
how to take a punch. And there have been times
the enemy's gotten a shot in and I've gotten very
upset about it or questioned why. And Lord would always
remind me, you don't like getting hit. You haven't learned
(58:36):
how to take a punch. It's all a part of
the war. It's all a part of the battle. Let
me close with Romans fifteen thirteen, the amplified version. And
I speak this as a blessing upon you. May the
God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace
(58:58):
in believing the experience of your faith, that by the
power of the Holy Spirit, that by the Dunamus of
the Rock hakkadsh you will abound in hope and overflow
with confidence and his promises. Father, we love you, and
(59:18):
we need you. We praise you, and we worship you,
We thank you. We appeal to the Father's heart as children,
each one having their own need, each one having their
own I don't even want to call it a desire.
A healing is not a desire. You know what the
(59:41):
needs are, Lord, even before we speak them. But we
come to you with thanksgiving, and we make our petitions known.
Abah Papa Daddy. Heal it needs to be healed, fel
what needs to be filled, Bless what needs to be blessed.
(01:00:05):
Let us be your examples to a world that is
lost in dying, that has caught up in anger and
violence and hopelessness. Let us show the love, the joy,
and the peace of the Lord and the presence of
the Holy Spirit to draw them to you. And I
(01:00:26):
pray all these things and your shoe his name. If
you agree with me, stay amen. May the Lord bless
you and keep you made. The Lord make his face
to shine upon you and be gracious to you. May
the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give
you peace. May I don't I your shoe Hamashiah Jesus

you peace. Give you shall hom. I'm Richard Grund. This
