Speaker 1 (00:21):
Hello, Welcome to the Porch on Firefall Talk Radio. I'm
Richard Ground. This is where you find the uncompromised red
letter basics of the Word of God, where we focus
on the Book of Act Church to see how they
serve the Lord. When we do that, we find the
Church the Lord intended, not the one Man created. The

(00:44):
Porch is a non denominational, full Gospel approach to the Bible.
It's based on the examples of the Book of Actor
Church and it aims to restore the priesthood of the
believer in regaining the world's shaking influence of the early
Church because we really need it today. The Church age

(01:04):
is not over. The Upper Room experience is available if
you want it. It's yours. If you desire it, we
offer you the Word as the Apostles would have to
the Jewish and Gentile believers of their day, using both
Yeshua and Jesus when speaking of the Lord. I prefer

(01:25):
the term Messiah rather than Christ because I believe it
more accurately reflects how he was referred to by those
who knew him, and I will provide definitions in Hebrew,
Greek and Aramaic when necessary. Getting back to basics isn't
just our motto, it's a mandate from the Lord. Links

for being a part of the porch. Thank you for
listening and being a part of this community. If you
need prayer, would like to pray for others, let us know.

(02:29):
The email prayer list one out last week. If you
didn't get it, let me know. If you're not getting
the newsletters when they go out, please let us know again.
Let's pray for America. Flash floodings are going on from
Texas to North Carolina to New York and New Jersey,
a bizarre number of floods. We have volcanoes erupting all

(02:54):
over the world. We have fires, I believe, whether man
made or spiritual God's trying to get our attention. So Father,
we come to you in the name of your Shue,
of the name above all names, as your children, we
say Abbah, Papa, Daddy. First of all, have mercy on us,

(03:18):
Protect us and all that is ours. Protect your creation, Lord,
all that are suffering from these tragedies. Shine your glory
down upon them. Help them to be found if they're lost.
Help them to find new homes if they need it.
Bring your blessings Lord upon those that would share it,

(03:40):
so that we can take care of those in need.
We love you. We thank you so much for being
our Abbah. We thank you for your shoe, sending him
to pay our debts so that we could be reconciled
to you, and when the time comes, we can spend
the time with you. Thank you, Lord, Thank you for

(04:04):
enduring the pain, the cross, everything that they did to
you that you allowed so that we could come home.
The love that you shared and the love that you
still give us is beyond anything we can understand. Your
grace is still amazing. Thank you for sending the Holy

(04:26):
Spirit to walk with us, to teach us, to comfort
us and guide us. And we asked that he would
help us tonight, Help us to understand, help us to receive,
help us to applied, apply the things that we're talking about.
Pray you protection upon all the technology upon us, homes, lands, families, pets, possessions.

(04:47):
We clear our minds, we open our hearts, and we say,
Holy Spirit, have your way, Do as you will this
day in your shoe His name. Amen.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
These lessons are proprietary information, except where nerd of the
information comes from outside sources. The combination of that information.
The manner presented is exclusive, cannot be repeated or used
without permission. The date of this broadcast serves as the
registered date of the following information.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Okay, have those bibles open. However you follow along again,
I would recommend you have a tangible Bible so that
if technology goes down or there's no power, you don't
lose access to the Word. It's great to still have
it on your phone or your tablet or iPad or
however you do it, but it's always good to have

(06:02):
one you can hold in your hand. We're still talking
about Pentecost. We're talking about the Holy Spirit. We're trying
to understand him more so that he can work with
us and through us. If you love me, the Lord says,

(06:25):
keep my commandments, and I will pray the Father, and
he will give you another helper that he may abide
with you forever, the Spirit of Truth, whom the world
cannot receive because it neither sees him nor knows him.
But you know him, for he dwells with you and
will be in you. But when the helper comes, whom

(06:46):
I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit
of Truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify
of me, and you will also bear witness, because you
have been with me from the beginning. Nevertheless, I tell
you the truth. It's to your advantage that I go away.
For if I do not go away, the Helper will

(07:08):
not come to you. But if I depart, I will
send him to you. And when he has come, he
will convict the world of sin and of righteousness, and
of judgment, of sin because they do not believe in me.
Of righteousness because I go to my Father, and you
see me no more, of judgment, because the ruler of

(07:29):
this world is judge. However, when he, the Spirit of Truth,
has come, he will guide you into all truth, for
he will not speak on his own authority. But whatever
he hears, he will speak, and he will tell you
things to come. He will glorify me, for he will
take of what is mine and declare it to you.

(07:53):
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes
upon you, and you will be my witnesses, telling people
about me everywhere in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and
to the ends of the earth. What I did right

(08:13):
there was I took John fourteen, verses fifteen and seventeen,
John fifteen, verses twenty six and twenty seven, John sixteen,
verses seven through eleven, John sixteen, thirteen and fourteen, the
verses and acts one eight, and I turned it into
one narrative, one statement from the Lord about the Holy Spirit.

(08:37):
And you might need to take that little clip, that
little sound bite played for yourself over and over and
to begin to receive it. You know, last week I
asked you to pray with me to receive the Spirit.
I asked you to pray with me for the Holy
Spirit to have his way with you. If he did,
please let me know. If he didn't. Let's keep going,
Let's keep trying, Let's keep digging in until it happens.

(09:01):
Because the darkness that is upon this earth right now,
and the actions of the enemy, which, for whatever reason
my previous life my calling. I am privy too. I
can see things most people can't. The enemy is out
and about. The enemy is on demonic steroids doing what
it does. And the Church needs to rise up in

(09:22):
its power and the fullness of the power given to us,
delegated to us from Heaven itself, to do what we've
been called to do, to set the captives free, to
shine the light into the darkness, to go get the
lambs that have wandered away. Stop playing church, stop playing games,
stop doing the religious hokey pokey, one leg in, one

(09:45):
leg out. Let's get up off our spiritual cushions and
shake this world in the holy spirit by aw pink.
He says. The whole work of the spirit within the elect. Hey,
that's us within the elect is to plant in the
heart a hatred for and a loathing of sin as sin,

(10:10):
and a love for a longing after holiness as holiness,
a longing after holiness. If you remember last week, I
told you this quote from Dial Moody, and it's kind
of stayed with me, so I'm going to share it again.

(10:31):
The work of the Spirit is to impart life, to
implant hope, to give liberty, to testify of Messiah, to
guide us into all truth, to teach us all things,
to comfort the believer and convict the world of sin. Hope, liberty, guidance,

(10:59):
insers the truth to the gospel, comfort, conviction. Where is that?
Where is that? We're too busy having carnivals and putting
on shows and smoke and mirrors and speakers and doing
all this craziness that's not changing the world. On the

(11:21):
day of Pentecost, the Final Harvest began, and the Holy
Spirit empowered Peter to share the gospel, empowered everybody in
the upper room. But Peter came out swinging, he came
out speaking, He came out preaching. And what happened Conviction

(11:43):
of Sin Acts two, starting verse thirty six, to let
everyone in Israel know for certain that God has made
this Yeshure, whom you crucified to be both Lord and Messiah,
to be both at Onai and Hamashiak. And Peter's words
pierced their hearts, and they said to him and the

(12:05):
other apostles, brothers, what should we do? And Peter replied,
each of you must repent of your sins and turn
to God and be baptized in the name of Jesus,
the Messiah is Suhamashiah for the forgiveness of your sins.
Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

(12:25):
This promise is to you, to your children, and to
those far away. All who have been called by the
Lord are God. And then Peter began continued preaching for
a long time, strongly urging all his listeners save yourselves
from this crooked generation. And those who believed what Peter

(12:47):
said were baptized and added to the church that day
about three thousand in all. The Holy Spirit did that.
He did it through Peter, but he did it. That's
what the upper room was aut That's what the fire
was about. And then at the gate beautiful and Acts three,
the crippled beggar has given liberty and hope. When Peter

(13:10):
and John come upon him and look at him intently.
Acts three starting verse four looked at him intently, and
Peter said, look at us. And the lame man looked
at them eagerly, expecting some money. But Peter said, I
don't have any silver or gold for you, but I
give you what I have and the name of Jesus
the Messiah, the Nazarene get up and walk. And then

(13:32):
Peter took the lame man by the hand and helped
him up, And as he did, the man's feet and
ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. This is somebody who
had been laying from birth. This is somebody whose muscles
had been atrophied, they withered, they had not been used.

(13:52):
And he immediately was healed and strengthened. Then he jumped
up and stood on his feet and began to walk,
king leaping and praising God. He went into the temple
with them, and all the people saw him walking and
heard him praising God. When they realized he was the
lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate,

(14:14):
they were absolutely astounded, and they all rushed out in
amazement to Solomon's colonnade, which is the poor Solomon's porch,
where the man was holding tightly to Peter and John.
Uneducated fishermen were doing what Yeshiah had done. He was
reminding them of him the spirit's efforts, who were about

(14:39):
furthering the Kingdom of God, whether through the preaching, whether
through the healing, whether through the manifestations, It's all about
the Kingdom of God. In a book called What the
Bible Says About the Holy Spirit by Stanley Horton, he

(14:59):
said this, this hope of seeing you shoe again made
the early Christians more conscious than ever of the necessity
of carrying on his work in the power of the Spirit.
In this age. The Holy Spirit is the only one
who can minister the life, power and person of Jesus

(15:20):
to us. Whether he is called the Spirit of God
or of Messiah, the Spirit of Peace, truth, power, grace,
or glory, he is always the same Holy Spirit who
makes Jesus, who makes Yeshoe a real and continues his work.
Every gentile Christian owes everything to the Holy Spirit, who

(15:42):
broke down the barriers and helped at least summ to
overcome their ingrained prejudices and move out into the world.
This dedication to God's service really grows out of a
dedication to God himself. In every aspect of the life
of the Christian life of the believer, the Spirit points

(16:04):
us to Ishua, points us to Jesus, and pours out
the love of God into our hearts. We are to
live in the Spirit and buy the spirit if we
are truly in Messiah. Thus, no aspect of our lives
needs to lack his touch. Let me say that again,
no aspect of our lives needs to lack his touch.

(16:29):
What He did for the first century believers as they lived, worked, worshiped, hoped,
and suffered from Messiah, he wants to do for us today.
A life wholly dedicated to God, wholly dedicated to his kingdom,
wholly dedicated to destroying the work of the enemy and

(16:52):
shining the light into the darkness and setting the captives free.
That's what this is all about. In the nature, in
the kinds of works that the Spirit does are regulated
by Him, by his own will, for his own purpose.
That's it. It's not for you. It's not for me.

(17:15):
It's not for a denomination or a building or a fellowship.
It's not to put on a show. It's not to
regale people. It's not to build a following. It's for him,
for his will and his purpose, which is to do
what to point back to Yeshia, to point back to

(17:36):
the Father. That's what the action of the Holy Spirit
are all about. One Corinthians twelve, starting with verse four,
there are diversities of gifts, but the same spirit. There
are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. There are
diversities of activities, but it is the same God who

(18:01):
works all in all, but the manifestation of the Spirit,
manifestation of the spirits. You want to underline that, or
highlight that the manifestation of the Spirit is given to
each one for the profit of all. For to one
is given the word of wisdom through the spirit to another,

(18:23):
the word of knowledge through the same spirit to another,
Faith by the same spirit to another, gifts of healings
by the same spirit plural gifts, gifts of healings plural
to another, the working of miracles plural to another, prophecy
to another, discerning of spirits to another, different kinds of

(18:47):
tongues to another, the interpretation of tongues but one. And
the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each
one individually as he wills. Now, why don't we see that?
Why do we see so few people actually moving in

(19:10):
the gifts of the spirit. Why do we see some
people moving in multiple gifts of the spirit, some, if
not all, and I'm talking about the ones that do
it right? Could be because not enough people are making
themselves available to the spirit. Not enough people are letting
it flow through the body. They're expecting someone else to

(19:31):
do it. Oh that's for you, Richard. You do that,
You lay hands, you cast out the demon. You you know,
it's not about me. It's about us as a body.
It's about believers being united in the Lord by his spirit.
And because of that union, he gives us different kinds

(19:53):
of spiritual gifts to different people so that we can
all fulfill the differencefferent types of service he needs. Just
think of the damage we could do to the kingdom
of darkness if we were all participating. Just think to
the manifestations of the spirit, and the healings and the

(20:16):
signs and wonders and the spreading of the Gospel. If
all of us were doing our part instead of praying
for someone else to do it. And that's not unusual.
The children of Israel did it, you know. Moses. He
calls Moses and the leaders and Joshua to the mountain,
and Moses says, come on, everybody, come, you can go watch. No, no, no,

(20:38):
we'll stay here. We'll stay to safe difference. You go
tell us what happened, Send us a boastguard. No come
come to the mountain of the Lord. Even just come
to the base of the mountain. This is what the
Day of Pentecost was all about. This is what he

(20:58):
wanted from us. Yes now. The New Testament writers emphasized
different aspects of the Holy Spirit. John showed the spirit's
role as a teacher and a revealer of God's thoughts
and his ways. Luke focused on the Spirit's guidance and
evangelistic power, and Paul while Paul provided a comprehensive view

(21:22):
of the Holy Spirit's work, again from the book What
the Bible Says About the Holy Spirit. Paul's writings also
show that the Holy Spirit was just as real and
personal to him as Jesus was. He recognized the important
place the Spirit had in his ministry, in the church,
and in the lives of individual believers. He also gave

(21:44):
definite teaching concerning the Holy Spirit and his gifts, especially
in Romans First Corinthians and Ephesians. Romans in Galatians emphasized
the contrast between the new life and the Spirit and
the old life of self effort under the Life Law,
as well as the old life of sin. Corinthians and
Ephesians emphasize the work of the Spirit both in the

(22:07):
hearts of believers and in the Church. But in all
of Paul's epistles, the work of the Spirit is evident
and important, even in Philammon, which he does not specifically
mention the Spirit. See to Paul, for whatever reason he knew,
he understood, he made the Spirit an active part of

(22:32):
his ministry and his teachings, which did what. It always
pointed back to Ishie. It always pointed back to the Cross.
It always pointed back to the new life and staying
away from a life of sin, because the Holy Spirit
brings new life in Messiah. The Holy Spirit brings new

(22:53):
life in Messiah. If your life is not what you
want it to be right now, if it's not up
with what I'm saying, just say, Holy Spirit, bring this
new life that Richard's telling me about. I commit to
the new life and Messiah. I have confessed with my
mouth and I have believed in my heart that I

(23:15):
am born again. My name is written in the Lamb's
Book of Life. Seal me Holy Spirit with the guarantee
and the promise of eternity with my heavenly Father, and
fill me with your fruit and the gifts, so that
I can be all that you desire for me to
be Amen Ephesians one, starting verse thirteen. In him capital

(23:39):
h you also trusted after you heard the Word of truth,
the Gospel of your salvation, in whom also, having believed,
you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise, who
is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of
the prize possession to the praise of His glory. The

(24:01):
Spirit seals us and assures us of eternity with the Lord.
And that guarantee is a good faith down payment assuring
the completion of the transaction. That's how the early Church
could look so expectantly to the sky. They could expect

(24:21):
the Lord while they were still working. They weren't sitting
around and waiting and looking and doing nothing. No, they
were being about the Father's business. That's what we need
to do. That's why it's so frustrating sometimes to not
have the provision or the ability to do the things
that need to be done, to get out there and

(24:43):
set the captives free, and destroy the work of the enemy,
and shine the light and the darkness, and go rescue
those who have wandered off to be the tip of
the spear so that the gospel can be preached. It's
all about him. It's all about the expectancy of h
his return, and I'm telling you the signs are indicating
we better be expectant. The Holy Spirit affirms to us

(25:12):
our salvation. That's why when somebody says me, I don't
know if I'm born again, or I question it, or
the enemy's convinced me I'm not Houston, we have a problem.
Had to figure out what that is, because the Holy
Spirit should be confirming to you that you're born again.
Maybe your life isn't lining up with your confession. Well,

(25:35):
all that means probably more than likely part of your
old nature is still alive. It hasn't been completely put
to death, it hasn't been completely delivered. Or maybe it
has been and you keep opening the door and letting
it back in. Don't answer the door, leave it outside.
Second Thessalonians, Chapter two, starting verse thirteen, we are bound

(26:00):
to give thanks to God always for you, brethren, beloved
by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you
for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in
the truth to which He called you. By our Gospel
for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus

(26:22):
the Messiah, sanctification by the Spirit, and belief in the truth.
So stand fast be assured. Did you confess with your mouth?
Do you believe in your heart that Jesus was raised
from the dead, which would make him the Messiah? Then

(26:42):
your identity is as a child of God. I must
say this again, have said it before, and I know
it doesn't sit well with some people. Not everybody is
a child of God. Everybody is a creation of God.
At least I would hope that they are those that
are not God wiped out in the flood. But I

(27:04):
have a suspicion that at the end there are going
to be others like that on the earth again, which
would make sense. Am destroying the earth by fire by purification.
Our identity, yours and mine, is as a child of God.

(27:25):
Say that I am a child of God, having come
from a broken home. That identity as a child of God,
as Him as my Father, as my Abbah, was a
revelation that took time to come to fruition for me
to understand it from my eyes to be opened, and

(27:47):
I had to let go of what I felt for
my earthly father. I had to let go of my
perception of a father that had been given to me
by my experiences, and I had to realize the father
I always wanted was my heavenly Father. That's my Abba,
that's my Papa. Romans eight, verse fourteen through seventeen. For

(28:11):
as many as are led by the Spirit of God,
these are the sons of God. For if you did
not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, For
you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear,
But you received the spirit of adoption, by whom we
cry out Abba. Father. The Spirit himself bears witness with

(28:37):
our spirit that we are children of God. And if children,
then heirs heirs of God and joint heirs with Messiah.
If indeed we suffer with him, we may also be glorified. Together.
Say that I am a child of God. I received
the spirit of adoption. I let go of those past things.

(28:58):
I let go of this preconceived notion, and I let
go of what my earthly father did to me. I
was talking to my cousin Robert about this the other
day and how I was able to begin the healing
process in that regard is to begin to understand through
the Spirit, through the Lord showing it to me through
a word, as somebody gave me without him knowing anything

(29:20):
about the story. He said, Your father did what he
did because he didn't know anything else, because it had
been done to him or shown to him. It was
in him and how he was. He had no other
choice but to be that way. Now, that doesn't that

(29:40):
doesn't discount his actions, but it explains his choices, And
in truth, I was blessed by him leaving. Had he stayed,
it would have been much more difficult for me. Doesn't
change the refeeling of rejection, doesn't change the feeling of pain,

(30:03):
doesn't change why a child will think, well, why wasn't
I good enough for you to stay? Why wasn't I
good enough for you to change? Every child goes through that,
and every breakup and every marital situation where things go south,
children think it's their fault. Why wasn't I enough? Well,

(30:25):
the truth was I was enough. I was enough for
the Lord. I was enough from a heavenly father. So
holy Spirit gives believers, it gives us the power over sin. No, no, no,
don't you talk about sin? Richard, we don't do that
in today's church. There is therefore now no condemnation to

(30:47):
those or in Messiah issue, who do not walk according
to the flesh, but according to the spirit. For the
law of the Spirit of life in Messiah, Messiah Jesus
has made me free from the law of sin and death.
For what the law could not do, in that it

(31:09):
was weak through the flesh, God did by sending his
own son in the likeness of sinful flesh on account
of sin. He condemned sin in the flesh, that the
righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us,
who do not walk according to the flesh, but according

(31:30):
to the spirit, the law of the Spirit of life,
we are free from the law of sin and death.
In dwelling. Sin will not determine my eternal destiny. Holy
Spirit gives us the power to live a fruitful life.

(31:54):
And by the way I was reading from Romans eight
before verses one through four, Galatians five started in verse
twenty two. But the fruit of the Holy Spirit, the
work of His presence within, is love, joy, gladness, beast patience,
being even tempered, and having forbearance, kindness and goodness, and benevolence, faithfulness, gentleness, meekness,

(32:21):
and humility, self control, which is self restraint against such things.
There is no law that can bring a charge. And
those who belong to Jesus the Messiah have crucified the flesh,
that godless human nature, with its passions and appetites and desires.

(32:43):
If we live by the Holy Spirit, let us walk
by the spirit. If by the Holy Spirit we have
our life in God. Let us go forward walking in line,
our conduct controlled by the Holy Spirit. Say this ties
into you are either a child of God, your child
of Adam. If I've been born from above, i am

(33:06):
a child of God through Yeshua. If I'm not, I'm
a child of Adam. I am under the control of
my sinful desires. I'm under the control of the flesh.
When you become born again, that stops. If it doesn't,
then we need to figure out why. What's the hook?

(33:27):
What is it that this besetting sin is doing for you?
Don't look at the manifestation of the sin. Let's get
to the root of it. Why do you do what
you do? The Holy Spirit gives us power from ministry
one Corinthians twelve, starting verse one, now concerning spiritual gifts. Brethren,

(33:49):
I do not want you to be ignorant. You know
that you were gentiles carried away by these dumb idols.
However you were led. Therefore, I make known to you
that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Yeshua,
It calls Jesus a cursed and no one can say

(34:10):
that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. There
are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit, diversities of ministries,
but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities,
but it is the same God who works all in
all but the manifestation of the Spirit. And can add

(34:33):
for ministry is given to each one for the prophet
of all. Understand what that means. These gifts again, are
not for personal profit. They're not for fame, they're not
for accolades, they're not for building followers. They're not for
anything more than the prophet of the church, profit prophets

(35:00):
of the Church, for the Kingdom of God, for the
glorification of the Lord. Now when they draw they draw
attention to a person, a ministry, an abomination, denomination, whatever
you want to call it. Then we have a problem.
Then it's not the Holy Spirit in action. But this

(35:22):
the spiritual gifts, bring about unity in their diverse diversity.
Paul picks us up in Romans twelve, starting verse three.
For I say to you, through the grace given to me,
to everyone who is among you, not to think of
himself more highly than he ought to think. Oh boy,

(35:45):
we need to put that on the wall of every church,
especially the charismatic, spirit filled evangelical churches. Let's put that
right up on the wall. Let's put that on the pulpit.
Not to think of himself or herself more than they
ought to think, but to think soberly as God has

(36:06):
dealt to each one a measure of faith. For as
we have many members in one body, but all the
members do not have the same function. So we, being many,
are one body in Messiah, and individually members of one another.

(36:28):
Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is
given to us, let us use them. If prophecy, then
let its prophecy. Let us prophesy in proportion to our
faith ministry. Let us use it in our ministry. He
who teaches in teaching, he who exhorts in exhortation, he

(36:50):
who gives with liberality, He who leads with diligence, he
who shows mercy with cheerfulness. That should be the mission
statement and the guidelines in every fellowship in the world,

(37:11):
which means the Holy Spirit is in control. The Lord
is the chairman of the board, and his right hand
is the Holy Spirit. We have too many people in control,
we have too many man made traditions in control. And

(37:32):
it's no wonder where we have no effect on this
world right now. There's a lot of darkness out there,
a lot of things going on, and I see them
on social media and people send them to me, and
I get it. You want to share stuff with me,
and I'm blessed that you want to, but you're sending

(37:54):
me stuff that is a problem, and b it's stuff
I used to experience when I was a baby believer
back in the nineties, which as far as I knew
on the pastor Shelley, that was just normal. That was
just normal every day, you know, for me at that time, Christianity.

(38:17):
But that's just what believers do. Miracles happen, demons get
cast out, people get saved. That's just a normal day
in the life of a spirit filled believer. Because when
the Holy Spirit is in action. It's a way of life.

(38:41):
I didn't say all that to demean anybody, to put
anybody down, or to lift myself up. I'm just telling
you that this should be every day, This should be normal,
shouldn't be a big deal. Ephesians five, starting verse eight.
For you once darkness, but now you are light in
the Lord. Walk as children of light. For the fruit

(39:03):
of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth. Well,
if the spirits in my life, then there should be goodness,
there should be righteousness, and there should be truth. Galatians
five sixteen through eighteen. Tell me walk in the spirit,
and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh,

(39:24):
For the flesh blust against the spirit, and the spirit
against the flesh. And these are contrary to one another.
So that you do not do the things that you wish,
which in Romans Paul calls sin. If I do the
things that I don't want to do, it's not I
who do it, but sin in me. But if you

(39:44):
are led by the spirit, you're not under the law.
So walk in the light, walk in the spirit. That's
what a believer's walk is. It's walking in the light
of the Holy Spirit. A life dedicated to God's will
for us and his ways for us, a life that's

(40:08):
in line with His nature, and what are aspects of
his nature? Holiness, truth, justice, love. Now, why don't people
want to hear about sin? Why don't more preachers and

(40:29):
teachers talk about sin? The Lord did, Paul did. Sin
is an issue to God because of the harm it
does to his children and how it short circuits the
spirits work in our life. To say that again, sin

(40:49):
will short circuit the Holy spirits work in your life.
Which is why when somebody comes to me, whether it's
counseling or deliverance or whatever, and they start to tell me, well,
I can't I can't seem to get the gifts of
the spirit. I can't seem to do this, can't seem
to do that. I'll sit and listen to the Holy
Spirit and then figure out. We got to find the

(41:10):
besetting sin. We got to find what's short's circuiting the connection.
And sometimes they'll give it up, and sometimes they won't,
which always astounds me. One Thessalonians five nineteen, do not
quench the spirit, don't put it out, let the fire burn. Believe.

(41:33):
A study Bible says the phrase do not quench the
spirit may be rendered stop quenching the spirit, suggesting that
the cessation of an action which is in progress. Wow,
something I'm doing or we're doing, you're doing, Church is doing,
is stopping the action of the Spirit. This verse, it

(41:56):
goes on to say, addresses the manifestation of the Holy
Spirit and one's private life as well. In the assembly
of believers, the present tense of this command exhorts them
to stop bringing the workings of the Holy Spirit to
a halt. Boy, have I seen that happen? It's encouraging

(42:17):
to note that God gave them repeated opportunities to be
used by his spirit. The metaphor quench suggests that the
activity of the spirit conveys a warmth, even a fire
within a fellowship, and when the spirit's fire is not quenched,
one will find a fellowship characterized by the positive aspects

(42:43):
that Paul talks about in one Thessalonians five. Don't quench it,
don't put it out, let it move again. I've experienced
being in a service where the spirit is moving, big
things are happening, and boom, they put the fire out

(43:05):
because it's gonna run over and it's going to keep
people from getting to Golden Corral on time for the buffet.
And I can tell you that I would rail against that.
Behind closed doors. People want to leave, Let them leave,
and you know for a while that was done. If

(43:27):
you want to go, go quietly. But we're going to
keep going and the spirit would burn. Sometimes the services
would go on for hours. Oh, but of course we
can't do that. That's just you know, that's doesn't fit
the schedule. I've always been a believer in the sense
that if I'm leading something, I'm going to let the

(43:49):
Holy Spirit burn, and it's going to go for as
long as it wants to. It'll tell me when it's done.
Ephesians four point thirty says, do not grieve the holies
spirit of God by whom you were sealed for the
day of redemption. You see, we're talking about the action
of the Holy Spirit. But we can stop that action.

(44:11):
We want more, we want more miracles, we want the
signs in wonder, we want to feel the presence of God. Well,
then let's stop quenching the spirit. Let's stop grieving the spirit,
which can be grieved by the behavior of believers. Don't
put it out. What puts it out. Sin stifles and

(44:32):
suppresses the spirit in our lives. Sin separates us from God.
He's still a holy God. If not for the blood
of Yeshiah and what took place on the cross, we
wouldn't have access to him. But there's teachings then, and

(44:54):
there's teachings now downplaying that or you know, giving you excuse, says, well,
you know that was then, this is now grace. Grace
all is grace. He forgives you. You know, can't be
the one with love, with the one you love, be
with the one you know you're with, love the one
you're with, and you want to do it, He'll forgive you.
It's better to ask forgiveness than permission. Stop. Stop. Let

(45:22):
no one delude and deceive you with empty excuses and
groundless arguments for these sins. For through these things the
wrath of God comes on the sons of rebellion and disobedience.
So do not associate or be shares with them. For
you were once darkness, but now you are light in

(45:45):
the Lord. Walk as children of light lead lives of
those native born to the light. For the fruit, the
effective product of the light or the spirit, consists in
every form of kindly, goodness, uprightness of heart, and trueness
of life Ephesians five six through nine. That was the

(46:07):
amplified stop being deceived. Sexual sin is sexual sin. Fornication
is fornication. If God had changed it, he would have
put it in writing. He did not. He surely even
told the woman caught an adultery, go and sin no more.

(46:31):
He forgave her. He didn't judge her, but he made
it clear, stop doing what you're doing. It's sin. It's
what got you into this mess in the first place.
And darkness is the absence and the ignorance of God

(46:51):
which allows those in darkness to be dominated by sin.
That's not us, that's not the church. Why are we
still talking about that in twenty twenty five? Why can't
we get that, Yes, you mess up, Yes things happen.
We say, I'm sorry, put it under the blood, repent,

(47:13):
change your ways, and don't do it again. And if
you can't do that, if something's got to hook in you,
then go to somebody who can pray with you and
have it removed. And don't misquote me here. Deliverance is
not the panacea for every problem. Most problems can be

(47:35):
dealt with by a person changing their ways by choosing
to do right, by choosing to live according to the
Word and not making up the rules as they go along,
or living by prophecies from people that are not real.
So many people have made bad decisions in their life

(47:57):
from a word given to them by someone they thought
either a was connected to God or b was saying
what they wanted to hear. Darkness is the absence of
and the ignorance of God, which is why so much
sin takes place in the dark. But when the light

(48:20):
comes on w it's an eye opener. If you've ever
been there in that situation, you know what I mean.
Ephesians four seventeen through twenty four. This I say, therefore
and testifying the Lord, that you should no longer walk
as the rest of the gentiles walk in the futility

(48:43):
of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from
the life of God because of the ignorance that is
in them, because of the blindness of their heart, who,
being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to
work all uncleanness with greediness. But you have not so

(49:03):
learned Messiah, if indeed you've heard him and have been
taught by him, as the truth is in you're sure
that you put off concerning your former conduct. The old
man or woman, the old person which grows corrupt according
to deceitful lust, it's a rotting zombie, and may be

(49:26):
renewed and to be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
to put on the new man, which was created according
to God in true righteousness and holiness. A mind of
the flesh, a mind of a child born of the flesh,
is corrupt and rotting. One born of the spirit is renewed.

(49:51):
It's righteous, it's holy, and has a new creation in
which the Holy Spirit can dwell. We just shouldn't allow
for these things to happen. When you open a door
to the enemy, he's glad to walk in. You put
your hand outside the hedge, something's gonna bite you. But

(50:15):
Nelson Study Bible says the Holy Spirit of God should
never be pushed away, ignored, or rejected. If we would
remember that the one who lives in us is God's
own spirit, we would be much more selective about what
we think, read, watch, say, and do do dude, do,

(50:39):
Let me say that again. We would be much more
selective about what we think, read, watch, say, and do.
Note that Paul acknowledges that evil thoughts and actions are
temptations even to those who are sealed by the Holy Spirit.

(51:00):
Got to remember we've been born again by spirit or
we still have this human body. We still have the temptations,
we still have all the things that this world can
do to us. That's why we're warned about this roaring lion.
That's why we're warned about what the enemy can do.
And don't let sin in the camp. And when it

(51:20):
says they were passed feeling, being past feeling means they
were hardened by years of sin and decadence, which limits
the convicting power of the Holy Spirit. Minds that are
closed in hearts that are hardened, resulting in moral insensitivity
and sexual immorality, And that shouldn't even be in the church.

(51:44):
We shouldn't be hearing about affairs. We shouldn't be hearing
about sexual sins, we shouldn't be hearing about abuse. We
shouldn't be hearing about all the things that come out. Now.
Of course, I know that you're going to have groups
of people, this is going to happen, But where's the
convicting power of the Holy Spirit. How are these pastors

(52:05):
and preachers and teachers doing what they're doing behind closed doors,
sometimes on their quote church property, and it does happen.
Alienating the Holy Spirit is what allow that to happen.

(52:26):
Pushing away the refining fire from our hearts allows it
to be hardened. When we don't talk about this, when
we don't confront it, when we don't pull it out
into the light. Our hearts become hardened when we don't
address the things that are going on and saying, hey, guys,

(52:46):
this is wrong. Stop, let's not do this anymore. Let's
let the Holy Spirit have his way. Now. I'm going
to keep going here. Something I wanted to cover, and
I didn't know how it was going to fit in,

(53:09):
and then all of a sudden, the Lord put it
in there. It's in Acts chapter five. It's when an
Anonius and Saphira lied to the Holy Spirit. And this
is an example of what happens when your heart is
hardened to the convicting presence of the Holy Spirit. A

(53:30):
certain man named Anonius, with Saphia his work with wife,
sold the possession and he kept back part of the proceeds.
His wife, being aware of it, brought a certain part
lady at the apostles feet. And basically they sold the

(53:53):
land and let everybody think this is it, this is
everything we made. But when in actuality they kept part
of it back. And Peter said, anoniis, why has Satan
filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and
kept back part of the price of the land for
yourself while it remained? Was it not your own? And

(54:14):
after it sold, was it not in your own control?
Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You
have not lied to men, but to God not these words.
Hearing these words and in eyes fell down and breathed
his last. So great fear came upon all those who
heard these things, and the young men arose, wrapped him up,

(54:34):
carried him out, and buried them. Now about three hours
later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened,
and Peter answered her, tell me whether you sold the
land for so much the amount that was quoted by Ananias.
And she said, oh, yes, for so much. And Peter
said to her, how is it you have agreed together

(54:55):
to test the spirit of the Lord. Look at the
feet of those who have been married your husband, or
at the door, and they will carry you out. And
immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last.
And the young men came in found her dead, carrying
her out, buried her by a husband, by her husband.
So great fear came upon all the church and upon

(55:17):
all who heard these things. Why has Satan filled your
heart to lie to and attempt to deceive the Holy Spirit?
Why then, is it that you have proposed and purposed
in your heart to do this thing? Whereas where is
it taking place? Taking place in their heart? How could
you have the heart to do such a deed? And

(55:40):
how is that you agreed together to lie to and
to test the spirit of the Lord, which is what
a holy spirit. See, Believers, especially these new believers, have
a new nature that is manifested in the transforming world
work of the Holy Spirit. I would suspect that Anonie

(56:04):
and Saphier made a verbal confession of faith, but their
hearts were not changed. Pride and greed still tempted them.
Satan took advantage of it and took control of them.
When we choose to sin, we opened the door to Satan.
The evil one tempted them, tempted Anonied and Saphier with

(56:26):
wicked desires and thoughts, and people will think we're just
like Barnabas. And we gave all of our money and
yielded their will to the temptations and suffered the consequences.
She had told the Pharisees, you are of your father,
the devil, and the desires of your father you want
to do. He was a murderer from the beginning and

(56:48):
does not stand in the truth, because there is no
truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks
from his own resources. He is a liar, and the
father of it, he inspired it in them and in
astin Sapphira. They deliberately lied. They assumed the moral character
of the devil himself and paid the price severe. Maybe

(57:15):
the Holy Spirit made an example out of them, in
line with God's nature to ensure the purity and the
survival of the church. They didn't just lie to the
Holy Spirit. They lied to God, the third person. They
lied to the Lord, and they didn't have to, they

(57:36):
chose to. We need some of this in the church today.
You can't lie to God. God hates liars, and all
liars they get special billion. In Revelation Proverbs six, starting
verse sixteen, there are six things the Lord hates. Yes,
seven are an abomination to him. A proud look, a

(58:00):
lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that
devises wicked plans, feet that are swift and running to evil,
a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows
discord among the brethren. Now, what was the end result

(58:21):
of that action? In the book of Acts, Church, we
seed in Acts five twelve, and through the hands of
the apostles, many signs and wonders were done among the people,
and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
Yet none of them dared, none of the rest dared
join them. But the people esteemed them highly, and believers

(58:45):
were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men
and women. The signs gave credibility to God's presence in
this new entity. The signs were the action, the wonders
were the response from the people confirmed his word, and

(59:06):
the result was fear or awe of God by the
convicting power of the Holy Spirit. What did you sis
say was the first thing he was going to do
convict the world of sin. We've lost our awe of God.

(59:27):
We have lost our awe of the King of kings
and the Lord of lords. We're so caught up in
our access to him and understanding him. And he loves us,
and I can walk with the Lord. But the truth is,
he could just think of thought, I would cease to exist.
Who is like you, o Lord among the gods? Who

(59:50):
is like you? Glorious and holiness, fearful in praises, doing
wonders Exodus fifteen eleven, Psal I'm thirty three eight. Let
all the earth fear the Lord Lord. Let the inhabitants
of the world stand in awe of him. They will someday.
But we need to get that back. We need to

(01:00:11):
get the reverence back. Familiarity has breeded contempt. We have
forgotten who he is. We've lost our reverence for him.
Yes I have access to him, Yes I have access
to the throne room. But every now and then he

(01:00:34):
has to remind me of who he is Hebrews twelve
twenty eight. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which
cannot be shaken, let us have grace by which we
may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. We've

(01:00:58):
lost our awe of godd and who he is. We've
lost that reverential respect with fear and wonder. The world
needs to see that. The world needs to wake up
to the fact of who he is. Oh, they will,

(01:01:22):
it won't be a good day for them. It's why
I pray for our loved ones to find him while
he may be found. I therefore, a prisoner of the Lord,
beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which
you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with long suffering,
bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the

(01:01:45):
unity of the spirit in the bond of peace. There
is one body and one spirit, just as you were
called in one hope of your calling, one Lord, when faith,
one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is
above all, through all, and in you all. But to

(01:02:08):
each one of us grace has been given according to
the measure measure of Messiah's gift. But the end of
all things, brothers and sisters is at hand. Therefore, be
serious and watchful in your prayers, and above all all things,
have fervent love for one another, for love will cover

(01:02:31):
a multitude of sins. But be hospitable to one another
without crumbling. As each one has received a gift. Minister
it to one another as good stewards of the manifold
grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as
the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do

(01:02:52):
it as with the ability which God supplies, that in
all things, that in all things, that in all things,
God may be glorified through Jesus the Messiah, to whom
belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
That was Ephesians four one through seven and one Peter

(01:03:14):
four seven through eleven, tied together as a declaration, as
a statement, as an invitation, glory and dominion forever, Glory
and dominion forever. So right now, I say, come, Holy Spirit, Come,
Holy Spirit, have your way with us. Touch us, feel

(01:03:38):
us to overflowing, Let us see and feel His glory,
Let us feel his love. Let us feel the warmth
of the fire work in us. Work with us. And

(01:04:00):
as you burn, burn out of us anything that is
not of You, Lord, cleanse us, sanctify us, refine us,
so that when you look, you see your reflection. None
of the drafts of our past or sins or choices,
or the things that have been done to us or

(01:04:21):
by us. Let it all be gone. Let all the
hooks the enemy has put into us, known and unknown,
be melted and gone. Every chain disappears, every wound healed.

(01:04:41):
Holy Spirit, Come touch us, fill us, Reveal yourself to us,
empower us so that we can do what He needs
us to do in this time. And I pray all
these things in your shoe's name. Amen. May the Lord

(01:05:07):
bless you and keep you. May the Lord cause his
face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.
May the Lord may I don't I your shoe a Hummashiah,
lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
Give you shall oam. I'm Richard Grund. This has been
