Speaker 1 (00:21):
Hello, and welcome to the Porch on Firefalse Talk Radio
Richard grind This is where you find the uncompromised read
letter basics of the Word of God, where we focus
on the Book of Acts Church to see how they
serve the Lord. In doing so, we find the Church
Lord intended, not the one Man created. The Porch is

(00:42):
a non denominational, full gospel approach to the Bible based
on the examples from the Book of Acts Church, which
aims to restore the priesthood of the believer while regaining
the world shaking influence of the early Church. The Church
age isn't over. The room experience is as much for
today as it was on the day of Pentecost. It's

(01:05):
yours if you want it. We offer you the Word
as the Apostles would have to the Jewish and gentile
believers of their day, using both Yeshua and Jesus. When
speaking of the Lord, prefer to use the term Messiah
rather than Christ, as it more accurately reflects how he

(01:25):
was referred to by them. Additionally, we provide definitions in Hebrew,
Greek and Aramaic when necessary. Getting back to basics, isn't
just our motto it's a mandate from the Lord. Links

(02:07):
your support and encouragement and prayers. Thank you for being
a part of the porch. Contact us if you need
prayer or we'd like to pray for others. We'll plug
you in. Remember we care about you. You start out
with praise and prayer and the sound of the show.
Far well, Father, I praise you. I praise you for

(02:28):
being ah Bah, for being Papa, for being Daddy, for
loving us even when we were unlovable. We thank you
for sending your shore to die for us, to pay
our debts so that we could be reconciled to you
and come home. We thank you Lord for doing that,
for paying our debts, for absorbing all of what we

(02:52):
should have endured but never could have. We thank you
for the blood, the cross, empty tomb in the upper room,
for sending back your Holy Spirit Rua Kakodesh to walk
with us, to guide us, to encourage us, to empower us.
Thank you, Thank you, Holy Spirit, for all that you're

(03:15):
doing for us. In the name of the Lord, for
his glory and for the Father. We ask that you
do it again tonight during this Bible study, that you
open our eyes and our ears, our hearts and our minds.
We take our thoughts captive to the obedience of Messiah.
Claiming the mind of Messiah, we cast down every vain

(03:36):
imagination that would exalt itself above the knowledge of l
E on God, Knowst High, our ab A Father. We
pray protection over this technology, over us, our homes, lands,
family's pets, possessions, no distractions, no sickness, no illness, no injury,
no attacks. We stand fast in the faith and the

(03:58):
power of His name. We thank you Lord for doing that.
We thank you for this word. We thank you for
our families and everything that you've done. I thank you
for my wife and sons and daughter in laws and
grandchildren and all that you've given me over all these
years that you've allowed me to serve you and to
walk with you. We asked for that to continue. We

(04:20):
ask for the blessings needed to shake this world one
last time before you return, to set the captives free,
to heal the sick, the blind, to raise the dead,
to spread the gospel, and do what you've asked us
to do. And I ask all these things, Lord, I
ask it in your shoe his name, And if you

(04:42):
agree with me, say amen.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
So we're still talking about permanent Pentecost, and tonight we're
talking about the release of the Holy Spirit. Remember Louke
twenty four forty nine, Lord said, behold, they send the
promise of my Father upon you, but tarrying the city
of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.

(05:43):
Settle now and wait, I'm about to soak you into
permanent power. Then in March sixteen, fifteen through nineteen, he
tells the disciples and us go into all the world
and preach the Gospel to every creature. He who believes
in his baptized will be saved. He who does not
believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those

(06:08):
who believe in my name. They will cast out demons,
they will speak with new tongues. They would take up serpents,
and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no
means hurt them. They will lay hands on the sick,
and they will recover. And soon after that he was
received up into heaven and sat down at the right
hand of God. And then acts one after being assembled

(06:30):
together with them, he commanded them, as before, to not
depart from Jerusalem, but to what to wait for the
promise of the Father. He said, what you have heard
from me, For John truly baptized with water, but you
shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days
from now. And they wanted to know about him restoring

(06:54):
the king to Israel, and he says, it's not for
you to know times or seasons which the Father has
put into his own authority. Here we go again, but
you shall receive power dunamous, dynamic, explosive sep replicating power
when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you
shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem and an all

(07:15):
Judea in Somearia, and to the end of the earth.
So we have two aspects of the Church being spoken
about here that would soon spread like wildfire from Solomon's
porch in the Temple in Jerusalem. One to be committed
witnesses who had been with the resurrected Messiah, and two

(07:38):
to give a clear message of the Lord's desire to
ruin people's hearts and his promise to return the life.
Application Bible commentary says the Old Testament promised the time
when God would demonstrate his purifying power among people. See
that Isaiah thirty two fifteen Ezekiel thirty nine twenty nine.

(08:03):
The prophets also look forward to a purifying fire Isaiah
chapter four, verse four. In Malachi three to two, these
looked to head prophetically to Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit
would be sent by Yeshua in the form of tongues
of fire, empowering his believers to preach the Gospel. All believers,

(08:25):
those who had come later to Yeshua for salvation would
receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. And the fire
of purification. This baptism would purify and refine each believer.
When Ya shoe A baptized with the Holy Spirit, the
entire person would be transformed by the spirit's power. We've

(08:50):
been transformed. They were transformed. So now when we're getting
into Acts one nine, we're going to pick it up
and follow it through. Until now, when he had spoken
these things while they watched, he was taken up into heaven,
and the cloud received him out of their sight. And
while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up,

(09:13):
behold two men stood by them in white apparel, who
also said, men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing
into heaven? This same yousure, who was taken up from
you into heaven, will so come in like manner as
you saw him go into heaven. So, with the final charge,

(09:35):
a final statement, on the top of the Mount of Olives,
the Messiah ascended into heaven, and moments later, these divine messengers,
these angels appeared and assured the apostles that they would
one day see the Lord return in similar fashion. It's
very powerful, very profound, very prophetic. So the church's vision

(10:01):
statement is they're the people for the task. You know,
the ones who know Messiah, who listen to him, they
have the power for the task through the Holy Spirit.
They have the philosophy of the approach to that task,
to be witnesses, to say what you saw, and they

(10:22):
have a plan of attack to Jerusalem, Judea, and to
the ends of the earth. Begin where you are and
move outward from there. That's a great philosophy. Begin where
you are and move outward from there. When the Spirit comes,
he told his followers, you will receive power to do

(10:46):
what to show off, this power to get togethers and
everybody show off their power know to be his witnesses.
Power from the Holy Spirit is not limited to strength
beyond the ordinary. It also involves courage and boldness and confidence,

(11:07):
insight ability, and of course authority. And the disciples would
need all these gifts to fulfill their mission. So the
Holy Spirit is our power source, the power to be
a witness. So this is the progression. They would receive

(11:29):
the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit would give them power
and they would witness with extraordinary results. You know, we
often try to reverse the order, and first we witness
under our own power and authority, and then we tap
into the spirit later, why just go right for it,

(11:52):
do the job. Witnessing is not showing what we can
do for God. It's a way of showing and telling
others what God has done for us. Us. When you
share the Gospel with others, rely on the power of
the Holy Spirit, and you too can be a powerful witness.
And the direction was of primary importance. That's why the

(12:15):
Lord spoke it the way he did. Begin where you
are at this moment. Take the message of Messiah outward
like ripples causing you know that, spreading outward a pebble
into a pond, into your city, your state, moving beyond
regional influence to the very ends of the earth. In

(12:36):
other words, reach it all. God's gospel has not reached
his final destination. If someone in your family, or your workplace,
or your school or your community hasn't heard the truth
about Yeshua, oh, not some man made Yeshua, not some
plaster or Paris thing on a wall or some image.

(12:59):
Know that the real person of Jesus up Nazareth. So
how are you contributing to the ever expanding testimony of
God's mercy and grace and what He's done for you?
But the disciples. They needed to see him make this
transition from the terrestrial to the heavenly. See the ascension

(13:22):
confirmed for them that you sue it truly was God.
And by witnessing him physically leaving the earth and returned
to his heavenly home, it sealed it in their mind
through their hearts, and they knew then that they had
work to be done. Acts one verse ten. In a while,

(13:46):
look they looked steadfastly. They went up and behold two
men in wide apparel. These angels said, what are you doing,
man of Galliy, Why are you standing here gazing into
the heavens? That same your sure is going to come
back just like he went. The angels confirmed what just

(14:10):
had happened. He'd been taken away into heaven, and they
reminded them of the promise that they would see him again.
And you see this in the writing over and over
Philippians three twenty. For our citizenship is in heaven, from
which we eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus

(14:30):
the Messiah first Thessalonians one ten, and to wait for
his son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead,
Even Yashuah, who delivers us from the wratht to come.
So they knew where he was, and they knew what
he was going to do. If he promised it or
prophesied it, it will happen. This is one of the

(14:51):
revelations I got today by working on this. It's like
this massive scroll. And everything he's ever said, every PropheC see,
every word, everything that the Lord God has declared will happen.
He does almost as if he's bound to it. He's

(15:11):
going to do it. This is a fulfillment of Zechariah
four teen, verses four through nine. And in that day
his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which
faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives
shall split in two from east to west, making a
very large valley. Half of the mountain shall move towards

(15:33):
the north and half of it towards the south. Then
you shall flee through my mountain valley, for the mountain
valley shall reach Azal. Yes, you shall flee. And as
you flee from the earthquake in the days of Usiah,
the King of Judah, thus the Lord God will come
and all the saints with you, and it shall come

(15:54):
to pass, and that day there will be no light
the lights will diminish. It shall be one day which
is known to the Lord, neither day or night, but
at evening time it shall happen that it will be light.
And in that day it shall be that the living
waters shall flow from Jerusalem, half of them towards the
Eastern Sea, and half of them toward the Western Sea.

(16:14):
In both summer and winter it shall occur, and the
Lord shall be king over all the earth. In that
day it shall be the Lord is one, and his
name is one. This is the second coming of the Lord.
When his feet step down, land down on the mount
of Olives, and it splits in two. In Revelation nineteen

(16:35):
we see another image of his return, starting of verse eleven,
when John the revelator says, now I saw heaven opened,
and behold the white horse, and he was sat on him.
Was called faithful and true, and in righteousness he judges
and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire,
and on his head were many crowns. He had a

(16:58):
name written that no one knew except himself. He was
clothed with a robe dipped in blood. And his name
is called the Word of God. And the armies in
heaven clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed him
on white horses. Now out of his mouth goes a
sharp sword, that with it he should strike the nations,

(17:19):
and he himself will rule them with a rod of iron.
He himself treads the wine press of the fierceness and
wrath of Almighty God. And he has on his robe
and on his thigh a name written King of Kings
and Lord of Lord Zacharias lords shall be king over
all the earth that's right there, from beginning to end,

(17:42):
prophecies shall be fulfilled. And those angels that were probably
standing on the Mount of Olives will be on their horses,
and the angels at the tomb will be on theirs.
And what a sight it will be to see the
nelsons study Bible says of Olives located east of Jerusalem,

(18:03):
and the Kidron Valley is a north south hill about
twenty seven hundred feet in elevation. The Messiah will return
to the Mount of Olives, very mountain from which he
ascended after his time on Earth. On the day Massiah's return,
the mount will be split by a deep east west valley,

(18:27):
and the saints are literally the Holy Ones angels who
accompany Yeshua at his return one Thessalonians three verses twelve
and thirteen. And may the Lord make you increase and
abound in love to one another and to all, just
as we do to you, so that He may establish

(18:48):
your hearts plural, blameless and holiness before our God and
Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus the Messiah
with all his saints. And I believe that by behind
those white horses with the angels on them are all
the saints that come back with him. So a cosmic

(19:09):
upheaval is associated with the second coming. But see the
glory of Messiah's kingdom is preceded by dark days of judgment.
Secharaia fourteen six tells us there will be no light
the imagery of darkness as a portent of judgment. Zecharai

(19:31):
anticipates the glorious day when the Lord will establish his
reign on this earth where was first challenged by Satan
and the fallen. And this will be the answer to
all the prayers of all those who pray. You shee
his words. Your kingdom Come. Lord. We say that now

(19:51):
your kingdom come, You will be done on earth as
it is in heaven. Lord himself. I've said in Mark thirteen,
verses twenty fourth through twenty six. But in those days
after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened and the
moon will not give its light. The stars of heaven

(20:14):
will fall, and the powers in heaven in the heavens
will be shaken. And then they will see the Son
of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
Jude fourteen, it says now Enoch the seventh from Adam
prophesied about these men, also saying, behold, the Lord comes

(20:38):
with ten thousands of his saints. While he was quoting
Enoch Chapter two, where Enoch said, behold, he comes with
ten thousands of his saints to execute judgment upon them
and destroy the wicked, and reprove all the carnal for
everything which the sinful and and godly have done and
committed against him. The King, before their eyes has left

(21:07):
to go sit on the throne, and the Church is
about to be born. He accomplished the redemption of mankind,
and he returned to the order of infinity and eternity
with the Father. Remember what he said, if I don't go,

(21:27):
the Holy Spirit can't come. Greater things shall you do?
If I go to the Father, greater things you'll do
because of the Holy Spirit in you. Believer, study Bible
says Yesho have prepared the disciples for the coming ministry
of the Holy Spirit, which was to begin in a

(21:48):
new manner. At Pentecost. The Ascension brought to an official,
glorious and triumphant end the earthly ministry of the Lord
and initialed his ministry at the right hand of the Father.
Remember last week we talked about Haze in heaven next
to the Father. The Holy Spirit is here. They are connected.

(22:10):
They are ruling together as one Father's son Spirit. This
is powerful. We should have done so much more with
this than we have. I don't think we've ever truly
understood what this was all about. Even after all these years,

(22:31):
I'm learning more and more about what it was all about.
Hebrews Chapter one, starting verse two. In God in these
last days spoken to us by his Son, whom he
has appointed heir of all things, through whom also he
made the worlds, who being the brightness of his glory

(22:51):
and the express image of his person, and upholding all
things by the word of his power. When he had
by himself sins sat down at the right hand of
the Majesty on high. When you move in the power
of the Holy Spirit, you are connected to him in

(23:12):
the Throne room, and that power is flowing down from
Him through the Spirit into you. So the angels gave
them insight as to how he would return in the future.
The sun would be darken, the moon no light. Well,

(23:33):
of course not if there's no sun. The moon has
no light, it has nothing to reflect. And if you
think about it's just like the Church, why should we
be here. We have nothing to reflect. Darkness must come
to the earth naturally and spiritually, and everything will be shaken.

(23:54):
The tribes of the earth will mourn, and then they
will see the Sun of Man coming on the clouds
of heaven with great power and great glory. And he
will send his angels with the great sound of the trumpet,
and they will gather together his elect from the four winds,
from one end of heaven to the other. So this

(24:15):
has happened. They've seen it, they've felt it, they've experienced it.
In Verse twelve of Acts one, they returned to Jerusalem
from the mound called the Olivet, which is near Jerusalem.
A Sabbath's Day journey and when they entered, they went
up to the upper room where they were staying. Remember
the same upper room from the last supper, John Mark's

(24:39):
father's place upstairs, Peter, James, John and Andrew, Philip, and
Thomas Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and
Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James. These
all continued with one according prayer and supplication, with the women,
and marry the mother you shue, and with his brothers.

(25:04):
So we have in total one hundred and twenty in
the upper room, little packed. Partially, I think they're there waiting.
I think they're there praying. I also think they're there hiding.
And what you tell them to do? He told them
to cherry to wait. Instead, they have a business meeting.
We see that in next one fifteen to twenty six.

(25:27):
They decide they're going to have a meeting, and they
cast lots to replace Judas, and they choose Matthias, who
we'd never hear from again. We never hear anything about him.
Whatever he did, I don't know. I do believe that
this was not of the Lord, and they were fulfilling.
They were filling a spot that would be filled by Paul,

(25:50):
but Peter took a leadership position. Maybe he remembered Matthew
nine thirty seven and thirty eighth. The Lord said, the
harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore prayed
the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into
his harvest. Maybe he thought, Wow, we're showed a man.

(26:11):
We need some help. Let's pick somebody to fill the spot.
They didn't realize the harvest of three thousand souls awaited
them on the day of Pentecost, the day that is
designated for Jews to lift their hands and thanks to

(26:32):
God for the harvest. To see, Pentecost is known as
the feast of weeks in the feast of the harvest, well,
this is about to be a harvest x two, verse one.
And when the day of Pentecost had fully come, they
were all with one accord in one place, And suddenly

(26:57):
there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing
mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they
were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues as
of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And
while they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and
began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave

(27:20):
them utterance. This wind wasn't just heard in the room,
It was heard in the whole building and spilled outside.
And the same tongues of fire are described in the
Book of Enoch when he goes into the Holy of
Holy with the Ancient of Days and the Son of Man,
and the fire that surrounds them and is on the wall,

(27:41):
and the tongues of fire coming off the wall. The
promise of the Father was being delivered to them to
impart the Holy Spirit's wisdom, the Holy Spirit's energy, and
its power as the driving force behind the Church's work

(28:02):
and witness. This supernatural gift reveals the activating presence of
God's Spirit and inaugurates the proclamation of the good News
to people of every nation. Remember what I said, dunamus,
that's power. Power's dunamus and the Greek explosive self replicating power.

(28:28):
So it's Pentecost, which is a pilgrimage festival according to
Exodus thirty four and numbers twenty eight. And there were
dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven.
And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together and
were confused because everyone heard them speak in their own language.

(28:55):
And then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to
one another, Look, not all these who speak Galileans. How
is it that we hear each in our own language
in which we were born, Parthians and Meads, Elamites, and
those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, Peersia, Pamphlea,

(29:22):
Egypt and parts of Libya, joining Syrene, visitors from Rome,
both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabs, we hear them
speaking in our own tongues, the wonderful works of God.
So they're all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another,
whatever could this mean? And others mockings said, Oh, they're

(29:44):
full of new wine. They're not just hearing words, they're
not just hearing sounds. They're hearing them talk about the
wonderful works of God in their own language. And we
have two reactions. One is amazement wanting to know what
it means, and the other is disdain and rejection. And

(30:08):
that's just what we see in humanity today. For these
individuals are in Jerusalem temporarily. They've been there from the
Passover until Pentecost fifty days, a little over a month,

(30:30):
month and a half, actually hearing the Gospel in a
linguistic miracle that made communication possible. And the point of
this miracle went beyond mere communication. The real miracle is
that it caused these visitors to marvel and to hear

(30:52):
the wondrous works of God. The fact that their message
was heard in their own language, and I I harp
on the herd in their own language. Some people say, well,
they was speaking their language. It's not what it says
says they heard them in their own language. I believe

(31:15):
it was supernatural. I believe it was heavenly, and I
believe the tongues they spoke their ears absorbed in their
own language. So what as to do? It stimulates an interest,
they go to look what's going on. But to them,
to many of the Jews, and to many of the witnesses,

(31:36):
it was a confirmation that God was doing something. Remember
what Messiah told Nicodemus and John Chapter three, verse eight.
The wind blows wherever it wants, just as you can
hear the wind but can't tell where it comes from
or where it's going. So you can't explain how people

(31:57):
are born of the spirit who was talking about a
time to come. He was talking about what Nikodemus probably
saw and heard that same day. The Holy Spirit alone
effects individual salvation through the new birth, and his coming
upon a people collectively was divine approval of this new

(32:20):
work under the Spirit's authority. Look at the work of
the Spirit as shown to us through the Word in
the beginning, active and president creation hovering over the chaos,
the unordered conditions, with our form and void. Then in

(32:40):
the Old Testament is the origin of supernatural abilities. It's
the giver of artistic skill. Remember he gave Beziliel the
ability to build the tabernacle on Exous thirty one. It's
the source of power and strength, Samson and judges. This
inspiration of prophecy, it's the mediation of God's message inn

(33:05):
Old Testament prophecy. It cleanses the heart for holy living
and salvation. It regenerates the believer, It sanctifies the believer.
It completely in dwells the believer. And now look at
that pattern. Regenerate, sanctify. Now I can move in. In

(33:27):
the New Testament, it declares the truth about Messiah and
doows with power the individual for the proclamation of the Gospel.
It pours out God's love in the heart. It makes intercession,
It enables the fruit of holy living, It strengthens the

(33:48):
inner being, and in the written word, inspires the writing
of scripture. So this would seem a acts two verses
seven through eleven, an insignificant list of geographical locations, but
nothing that happens under the inspiration of God, and in

(34:11):
the words insignificant. However, a line drawn from one of
these names to another on a map in the order
that's recorded will criss cross the Roman Empire and practically
encircle it. Jerusalem, Judea, the end of the Earth. Representatives
from these areas could have returned to their homes abroad

(34:34):
within about three months after Pentecost, having heard the Gospel
that day through the miracle of the tongues. They could
have spread the Gospel throughout the entire Roman Empire within
months after Pentecost. Thus they likely laid the foundation for
evangelism amongst the gentile in many areas of the Empire,

(34:55):
and in some instances even beyond. But we have a problem.
One person, one group is amazed. The other one thinks
they're drunk in new wine, which is very powerful, O
potent wine. Spick it up and acts two verse fourteen.

(35:15):
But Peter, standing up with the twelve, raised his voice,
and he said to them, men of Judea and all
who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you,
and heed my words. For these are not drunk, as
you suppose, since it's only the third hour of the day.

(35:36):
It's only nine am. But this is what was spoken
by the prophet Joel. And it shall come to pass
in the last days, says God, that I will pour
out my spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your
daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, your
old men shall dream dreams. And on my men serving

(36:00):
now my maid servants. I will pour out my spirit
in those days, and they shall prophesy and to be
fulfilled in the future. He's reading from the speaking from
Joel two twenty eight. I will show wonders in the
heavens above, and in the signs and the earth beneath
blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall

(36:22):
be turned into darkness and the moon into blood. Before
the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.
And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on
the name of the Lord shall be say. This is
the same Peter who ran when he was accused of
being a follower. Peter's first sermon. By the way, if

(36:43):
you want to keep notes, the eschatological prophecies of Joel
envisioned a daylike Pentecost, and the speaking in various languages.
The key phrase here is all flesh. These words mean
that the Spirit of God would come upon all people
without discrimination, young, old, servants, women, and other groups ordinarily

(37:10):
admitted the Messianic era has been inaugurated through this climactic
fulfillment is yet to come. So the understanding of prophecy
is expressive of the two fold truth that one, we
live in the now of the Messianic blessings, and two

(37:34):
there is yet to be fullness of Messianic blessings to
be realized in the return of Messiah, the millennial kingdom,
and the eternal state. And as I was speaking to
Larry today, sharing with him some of these revelations, I said,
I wonder if one given a real prophecy personal and
somebody gives you a prophecy We initially live in the

(37:57):
now of that prophecy, but we're waiting for the fullness
of it yet to be fulfilled. You're in the process
of the fulfillment of the prophecy, and some people will
have someone speak over them and they'll feel it and
they'll know it's God, and then well, it's not happening.
Yes it is. You're living in the now of the

(38:18):
prophetic word, and they yet to be of the fullness
of time. Peter goes on, men of Israel, hear these
words Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested by God to
you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did through
him in your mist as you yourselves also know, Oh, miracles,

(38:42):
wonders and signs. Why is that important? Because for the
first century Church, that's the basis of their supernatural works
miracles dunamus literally works of powers, wonders, terroists, and the
sense phenomenon which compelled one's attention or causes one to

(39:04):
look again, make someone wonder the signs seeds me on.
I know I didn't say that right Greek word segm on.
That's it, seg me on, which may or may not
always be supernatural like the first two. Some signs our natural,

(39:26):
some are supernatural. But the fact is they will be
comparable to the prophecies or the spiritual truths being conveyed miracles, signs,
and wonders. Peter goes on him being delivered by the
determined purpose, and fore knowledge of God will right there,

(39:48):
It says, who did it? God did it, and he
used the Jews and the Gentiles to get it done.
You have taken by lawless hands, have crucified and put
to death, whom God raised up, having loosed the pains
of death, because it was not possible that he should
be held by it. But David says concerning him, and

(40:10):
says this in Psalm sixteen. I foresaw the Lord always
before my face, for he is at my right hand,
that I may not be shaken. Therefore my heart rejoiced
and my tongue was glad. Moreover, my flesh also will
rest in hope, for you will not allow to leave
my soul in shield, will allow your Holy One to

(40:34):
see corruption. You have made known to me the ways
of life. You will make me full of joy in
your presence. Peter's quoting from Psalm sixteen, which is about
the hope of the faithful and Messiah's victory, the hope
of the resurrection, stating that Messiahs flesh would not seek corruption,

(40:57):
and it did not. He didn't rot in the ground.
He can't find his body, it's not there. So the
primary emphasis here is on the resurrection and no corruption
of the flesh, the climactic realization of the Messiah despite
his sufferings and death. He picks it back up in
verse twenty nine. Men and brethren, let me speak freely

(41:22):
to you of the Patriarch David, that he is both
dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to
this day. Therefore, being a prophet, knowing that God had
sworn with an oath to him that the fruit of
his body according to the flesh, he would raise up
the Messiah to sit on his throne. He foreseeing this,

(41:45):
spoke concerning the resurrection of the Messiah, that his soul
was not left in hades. He would have said shield,
but they wrote it its hades. Nor did his flesh
see corruption. This you sure God has raised up, of
which we are all witnesses Verse thirty two. There powerful,

(42:07):
we didn't just hear about it. We've seen it. Therefore,
being exalted to the right hand of God, and having
received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit,
he poured out this what you see in here. But
David did not ascend into heaven, but says himself, the

(42:28):
Lord said to my Lord, sit at my right hand
till I make your enemies your footstool. Therefore, that all
the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made
this Yshua, whom you both crucified, whom you crucified, both
Lord and Messiah. Let the entire house of Israel know

(42:55):
that this is sure. Whom you crucid is both Lord
and Messiah. Now, when they heard this, they would cut
to the heart. See the spirit is working. Peter just talked,
He told the truth, He spoke the word. He said
what he said, what he's seen, said it from the heart.

(43:18):
When they heard this, they would cut to the heart
and said to the Peter and the rest of the apostles,
men and brethren, what shall we do. Peter said to them, repent,
and let every one of you be baptized in the
name of your Shuehammer Sheioch Jesus the Messiah for the

(43:41):
remission of sins. And you shall receive the gift of
the spirit. For the promise is to you and to
your children, and to all who are afar off, as
many as the Lord our God will call. What shall
we do repent? That's conviction. Remember he said, I'm going

(44:04):
to send the spirit. He's going to bring righteousness. He's
going to convict them of sin. That's what's happening right here.
The spirit has fallen. It has endued them with power
from on high. They're speaking the Word with power. Their
very presence brings power in their hearts. We're cut. What

(44:35):
shall we do? That's the question? What shall we do?
The message of the death and resurrection of Messiah takes
precedence over all other factors in the witnessing for the
early Christians, to the early believers, that's what it was about.

(44:57):
We don't serve a dead prophet. We serve a resurrected Messiah.
The death of the Messiah was the watershed of redemption.
This is what it's all about. And the resurrection was
the proof that God Almighty Hashim to them, had declared

(45:21):
this Yeshuah is both A and I and Messiah. That's
the message of that day. That's the message that lingers today,
and I wish all of my Jewish brothers and sisters
could hear it and understand it. So Peter's first sermon

(45:46):
has become an excellent example of expository preaching. An early
Apostolic proclamation. The heart of the Church's early preaching was
twofold proclamation of the Gospel, the death, resurrection and exaltation
of Jesus the Messiah, and an exhortation to repentance and

(46:13):
faith with public confession of this decision by baptism. And
this pattern is repeated over and over again in the
Book of Acts. And I believe when the Church got
away from that and became organized religion, we lost this power,

(46:34):
We lost this influence x two, picking of verse forty,
and with many other words, he testified and exhorted them, saying,
be saved from this perverse generation. Now there's a message

(46:55):
for you. I read that. It just kind of hit me.
Be saved from this perverse generation. On June eighteenth, twenty
twenty five, be saved from this perverse generation. And then
those who had gladly received his word were baptized, and

(47:15):
that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
Now we don't know if they immediately went out and baptized.
We don't know the timeframe. But we know that three
thousand souls and they only counted men in those days,
so who knows how many women made that decision got saved.

(47:39):
And they continued steadfastly in the apostles, doctrine and fellowship
and the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear
came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were
done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together
and had all things in common, and sold their processions,

(48:02):
possessions and goods, and divided them among all as anyone
had need. So continuingly, continuing daily with one accord in
the temple, meeting a Solomon's porch by the way, breaking
bread from house to house. They ate their food with
gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor

(48:27):
with all people. And the Lord added to the church
daily those who were being saved. This is it. This
is the birth of the church. This is the seminal moment.
This is the beginning. The Church's foundation has been built
upon this event in the Book of Acts. This is

(48:50):
the way it should have been done, fellowship, favor, taking
care of one another, repentance, the power of the Holy Spirit,
and the Lord added to the church daily those who
are being saved, not men. The Lord did it, and

(49:15):
how did he do it. He did it through the
Holy Spirit, signs and wonders. And you look at that,
and you remember the Lord said in John sixteen, starting
verse seven. Nevertheless, I tell you the truth. It's to
your advantage that I go away. For if I do

(49:36):
not go away, the helper will not come to you.
But if I depart, I will send him to you.
And when he has come, he will convict the world
of sin and of righteousness, and of judgment, of sin
because they do not believe in me. Of righteousness because

(49:58):
I go to my father and you see me no more.
Of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
I wonder what Satan was thinking at that moment. I
wonder what the fallen with thinking at that moment. I
wonder what all their demonic offspring were thinking at that moment. Wow,

(50:20):
we finally kill him. I think we made a mistake.
I think we should not have killed them. But it
was prophesied it had to happen. I wonder if they
fought amongst themselves. See, this is your fault. You shouldn't
have made them do that. You shouldn't have had pilots.
Say yes, you shouldn't have had the Caiaphas and the

(50:41):
san Hedrin take them. We shouldn't have done this. Look
at the mess we've created. Now we got to clean
up this mess. Now we have something more powerful than
us that we have to fight against. And not only that,
they're getting people saved, We're losing these people. They're plundering
our kingdom. The people heard and received the word of God,

(51:07):
and they follow this with confession and public baptism, united
in fellowship with the rest of the church. They continued
in the doctrine. They remained in fair and prayer and
fellowship with the brethren, and they observed the Lord's Supper

(51:32):
as a part of responsible church life. To them, being
a part of this family, I hate to even call
it church membership, because then we get to thinking, you know,
we'll fill out this card, we'll have a meeting, we'll

(51:52):
sit down to you, you come in, you say these words. Now.
Becoming a part of the family, to them, it was
a privilege, and it was willingly granted to those who
had experienced genuine confersion followed by their baptism. That's a privilege.

(52:23):
It's also a responsibility, and it's not a right. But
the Lord knew something they didn't. They're going to be
rejected now, they're going to be ostracized more than they
were before, and they're going to need to look out

(52:44):
for one another. So these verses and acts too contained
the first report of the state of the Church immediately
after the coming of the Holy Spirit. And I look
at this, it's not just the seminal moment of the church.

(53:09):
I look at it as the blueprint. I look at
it the way it should be done. See, they replicated
this over and over and over, and they shook the world,
and the enemy couldn't stop it, did everything he could,
and the heart of the enemy tried to stop it.

(53:31):
The more that they killed, the more it spread. So
the enemy figured about three hundred years later, you know what,
if we can't beat them, why don't we just join them.
Why don't we infiltrate, Why don't we get them to
stop doing it their way and let them do it
our way. Let's get him out of the homes with
the free flow of the Spirit, and the fire is falling,

(53:53):
and they're recreating the Upper Room, and bring them into
these dead basilicas can contain the fire, even put it out.
We can create all these rules so under government that
can limit them and limit their influence. So let's let's
convince Constantine to make the mistate religion and the church

(54:19):
began to die, and the light began to go out.
And it's not by accident. After the Council of nicea
three was that twenty three a d In that time
frame that the light and the fire the Holy Spirit
began to go dim. Periodically, the fire rises up again,

(54:45):
some dry wood comes in and some holy spirit oil
falls and we get it, and religion tries to stamp
it out, but thankfully there's a remnant. There are those
who cannot be put out. There are those who are
soaked in the oil and who continue to burn. We

(55:08):
have oil in our lamp and we continue burning. We're
not caught asleep. But on this day, the day of Pentecost,
the Holy Spirit has been released, the Church is born,

(55:29):
and the mission has begun. And if this had been
just it, it had been powerful. But now they have
a job to do. They got to take this outward.
They got to go up against the religious structure, they
got to go up against Rome, they got to go

(55:50):
up against the enemy and all that the enemy controls.
And as I've just said, the enemy didn't stamp a
chain out. And that's why I talk about this, and
that's why I do this, starting with the fellowship we
had in our home in Tallahassee back in the nineties

(56:15):
early nineties, and then to this is to get us
back to that moment, to get us back to the
Upper Room experience, get us back to that day, and
to keep doing it, and to setting the captives free
and filling them with the Holy Spirit and setting them
on fire. That's what it's all about. So will you

(56:43):
do that with me? Will you begin to tell others?
Will you be a witness. You don't have to be eloquent,
You don't have to be a great speaker, you don't
have to be able to quote scripture. Let me tell
you about why I believe what I believe. Let me
tell you what I believe you need right now in
this world. You need hope. And hope doesn't come from man.

(57:06):
Hope comes from the King of kings and the Lord
of lords, and I know his name. It's Jesus, it's
your sure in my life changed when I made him
Lord and savior of my life. And that wasn't a
religious experience. That was an internal personal experience. I don't

(57:29):
have religion. I have relationship. And let the Spirit move
through you, let the Spirit speak through you. Spend your
days getting to know the Holy Spirit. Spend your days
learning to let him have control, and say, Lord, whatever

(57:50):
is in me that hinders you from having this control,
burn it out of me. Take it. I don't want
it anymore. No matter what the enemy does, no matter
how they afflict you with troubles and tribulations and pain
and disease and all the things that this world can
do to you, hold on to the joy, hold on

(58:12):
to the hope that you're going to see him again,
that he's going to split that sky first. He's going
to come get us. Father, Ah, but Papa, Daddy. I
don't know what they were praying in the upper room.
I don't know what happened at the moment that the

(58:36):
wind of the Spirit came through that place. I believe
they were praising you. I believe they were worshiping you.
And then there came a mighty rushing wind, and it
filled the entire place where they were. Fill us, Lord,
fill the place where we are. Let us feel it,

(59:00):
let us hear it, let us see it. Change us.
Take anything from us that hinders that, put your oil
in our lamp. Lord, keep us burning. Remove any false teachings,

(59:21):
any religion, anything that we may have picked up along
the way that keeps us from having what you want
us to have and being what you want us to be.
Release your Holy spirit threw us over and over and
over and over and every day and every second, whether

(59:44):
we're sleeping, whether we're speaking, whether we're walking, whether it's sitting,
whatever it is, Let your spirit flow through us so
that we are connected to you. In the Throne room,
all is one and connected to each other. I pray
that my brothers and sisters right now would receive this,
they would believe it, and they would turn it loose

(01:00:07):
in their life, and we would truly, as they did,
shake the world one last time before the return of
our King. And I pray all these things in your
shoe his name. Amen. May the Lord bless you and

(01:00:34):
keep you. May I don't I make his face to
shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the
Lord I don't I your shoe Ahamashiel, Jesus the Messiah,
lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace,
Give you shalom. I'm Richard Grund. This has been the
