NATO was formed following World War II. Its founding treaty was signed in Washington D.C. in 1949 by a dozen European and North American countries.
The NATO alliance was formed as a response to the threat posed after the Second World War by the Soviet Union. NATO’s purpose was to protect democratic nations against the spread of communism in Europe. NATO’s website states “It commits the Allies to democracy, individual liberty and the rule of law, as well as to peaceful resolution of disputes. Importantly, the treaty sets out the idea of collective defense, meaning that an attack against one Ally is considered an attack against all Allies.”
Ironically the Democrats in America along with these European countries are moving towards being Communist themselves. Look no further than Bernie Sanders, I know a lot of people say that Bernie Sanders is a socialist but if you want to look at reality, they are one-in the same.
On December 3, 2019 the president of France Emmanuel Macron made a comment to Pres. Trump that NATO is not only about the money. But anyone who knows anything about these NATO countries knows it’s a 100% about the money. America pays well above and beyond all of the NATO countries put together. Let's just take a look at how much money the United States pays versus France for example. The United States is estimated to pay $730,149 which is 3.42 of the GDP. France is estimated to pay $50,729 which is 1.84% of their GDP. Granite the United States is by far a more wealthy country but that doesn't mean the United States should always have to pay more than these other countries. This is the exact model the Democrats want to do with everyone that has been successful in the United States.
And of course, the Communist News network and MSDNC are coming to the defense of the NATO countries that are against President Trump.
