Speaker 1 (00:02):
The following is in Nova Scotia You eighteen Major Hockey
League Intermission Interview.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Back with you at Cole Harber Place, two periods in
the books, the visiting South Shore Mustangs leading the home
side March and Milkow Hunters by a score four to one.
Very pleased to be joined by injured defenseman from the
March and Milkow Hunters. This is Dawson Swift. Dawson. We'll
get to the injury the second, but first off, your
thoughts so far through the first copperience.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
I mean, it's been a bit of a slow start
for the Hunters, but I mean we just got to
keep going and hopefully find the back of that here
in the third.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
I'm sure it's disappointing to have this injury. You were
off to such a good start this season, one of
the in my opinion, top defenders on this team, if
not in the league. Five goals, seven assists, leading your
team with twelve points up until the injury. What's been
the key for you so far this season?

Speaker 3 (00:51):
I think just this season is a leadership role. I've
gathered the confidence to, you know, shresh my capabilities, and
I feel like the confidence really has boosted my play
this year, and I'm just gonna, you know, when I
get back, hopefully keep producting the same as I am.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Right now, I'll paint a picture for folks listening. Dawson
standing next to me to my right, he's got a
pretty big rap cast on the left thumb. He's got
his left arm in a sling. So tell me about
the injury. How did it happen and what's the timeline? Yep?

Speaker 3 (01:22):
So Thursday night practice, fluky thing happened, ended up breaking
my thumb on the joint and went in, got it
checked out at the emergency and six to eight weeks recovery,
and yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Just looking to come back stronger and better. Six to
eight weeks recovery. I was talking to your dad, Tom
prior to me chatting with you, and I was saying,
at least it's the hand, which means you can still skate.
I know that you want to be careful, but what
kind of things can you do during your recover to
kind of stay in shape. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
So I was talking to my coach and he's gonna
get me on the wind bike quite a bit and
you know, moving some weights around and just try and
get a sweat on and keep in shape, and you know,
just come back and hopefully I'm in decent shape.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
So now during the holidays, you know, when you've got
some presents, perhaps open is this gonna hendry at all?

Speaker 3 (02:14):
I mean, I might have to look over to the
parents or assistant siblings to open up a few guests,
but I'll try my best to open them out myself.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
All right. A couple of questions about Dawson Swift. What
you like, what you don't like? First of all, gamed
a meal? What you go to?

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Oh I gotta go chicken passa?

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Okay? What about snack food?

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Snacks? You know, I gotta go a little granola bar,
maybe a couple of goldfish, some simple the snack that
smiles back right exactly exactly.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Other than Cole Harbor Place. What's your favorite rink to
play in? And why it's got to be the Forum.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
I live really close to it, and you know it's
just I grew up right there and I played for
the U fifteen team and it was fun.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Disney Netflix or Prime Video? Oh I gotta go Netflix,
chicken wings, hamburger or pizza chicken wings? What flavor barbecue?
All right? Listen, Dawson. Last thing for you. I know
that there's a lot of people that are important in
your life and in your hockey career. Give a shout
out to anybody you want.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
You know, I just say my family, and you know,
my friends as well, and and all my coaches. Honestly,
you know throughout they've taught me so much. And Brad Crosley,
JP McCollum, Kyle Dunn. Just shout out to all of them.
You know, they've taught me so much and they've made
me the person I am today, and you know, I
just I'm yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Well, listen, Dawson, we really appreciate you taking the time
to come up and chat. We know you'll be back bigger, better,
faster than ever, adding to those twelve points on the season.
But we really do wish you lots of luck with
the recovery and look forward to seeing you against him.
Thank you so much. That is Dawson Swift, important defenseman
on this team. He leads the club with twelve points,
five goals, seven assists. He's got that injury. He'll be

(03:59):
back after Christmas, and I'm sure that when he does
come back, the Hunters will be glad to have him.
But till then he's cheering on his mates as you
would expect him to do. We'll step aside. Third period
coming up. It's four to one Mustangs over the Hunters.

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
