Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome back to Cohart the Visiting Side Hockey League. More
one lead over the home team March and Milco Hunters.
Great please to be joined by Keagan Watt, the head
coach of the South Show Mustangs Coach at your thoughts
after forty minutes.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
We're starting to play our game right. We got guys
committed into our systems, Our compete levels definitely rose the
last five periods that we've played, and we're pretty happy
with how things go. Still got a twenty to go
and we'll see where it leaves us.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Yeah, you and I talk pregame and you said, forget
the first period yesterday against the Weeks, you know, one
of the only two undefeated teams in this league. You said,
the second and third much better, and of course through
two periods now you know, a good result so far
leading for one. What's kind of been the difference in
the last few periods to have your team playing Mustangs hockey.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
You know we're competing, right, We're getting into our dirty
areas right. We got all guys going buying into what
we're preaching and the energy has been good. So you know,
we keep executing the little details and we'll be fine.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Another key you said for your side was to play
a full sixty. Of course, one period of regulation left
to go. You've got the four to one lead. What's
the message from you and the coaching staff to get
the guys to play that full sixty?
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Nothing changes, right, we've been we've been got, you know,
pedal to the metal here. You know, play in our
system and that's going to be the message in between
periods here, continue on, no let up and finish this
thing out.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
So far, four different goal scorers for your club. How
important is that kind of balance scoring for your team?
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Oh, it's massive, right in this league you need multiple options.
You can't just go with one line, two lines. You
got to have all lines that can play and just
start seeing that happening for us is a good thing.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
It's an early morning start, but I've commented on the
broadcast that these two teams must have had their wadies
this morning. Right from the opening puck drop, they've been
just going at it with a quick pace. What's been
a key for you guys to have that success and
to have that pace?
Speaker 2 (02:04):
You know what we like yesterday when we chatted, we said,
you know, we need good rest and recovery and to
take care of ourselves, right. We're we're big on that.
Away from the game, our boys take care of themselves
well and that leads to success on the weekends.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
I broadcast your game here last week against the same
March and Milk Hunters team. An excellent game. The first
two periods of this game has been very entertaining, very fast.
What is it about the match up between the Mustangs
and the Hunters that seems to bring out the best
in both clubs.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
That's two clubs that you know, have a little hate
on for each other, right, they both like to play
that gritty style and compete. JP gets his guys going
every week and they're in every game, right, so we
know we need to come with our compete level and
our intensity to match and right now, so far, through
through forty we've been we've been fortunate. Right, Let's you know,
(02:58):
keep going in the third and then we'll go from there.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Coach Keegan Wat, we appreciate your time so far, so
good good luck in the third.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Thanks for having me that is Keegan Wat.
