Speaker 1 (00:03):
The following Nova Scotia U eighteen Major Hockey League game
is proudly presented by Firm Foundation Media.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Let's head inside the rink.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
Good morning and welcome to Cole Harbor Place in beautiful
Cole Harbor, Nova Scotia. For today's Nova Scotia uaighteen Major
Hockey League game on FFM Radio, I'm Scott Squires and yes,
I said, good morning. An early start here eleven twenty
scheduled puck drop. We're a little past at now, but
(00:34):
that's okay, an early morning start, I will tell you.
For the Halifax Max, couple of defensemen not available for
today's game, Gavin Sudd serving the first of a two
game suspension, and Blake Bootler and Joe Breen both injured
not available, So three defenseman for the Max out of
the lineup. For the March and Milk Co Hunters couple
(00:57):
of defensemen out of the lineup as well. Sebastian hum injured,
not available. Dawson Swift's still out of the lineup, recovering
from the surgery on his left hand. They're hoping to
get him back maybe sometime in December. And Porter Kalita,
usually a forward for the Hunters has moved back, so
he'll play defense. No call ups or affiliates for the Hunters.
(01:19):
For the Halifax Max, a couple of affiliates from the
Cairo Kaer Kings, both defensemen. Jaden Weston he'll be wearing
number nine. Jake Gammero he'll be wearing number five. Those
two players have played together for quite a few years
and they get to jump into the Halifax Max lineup
with the big club today. So both teams missing some
(01:39):
regular defenseman, but that's it. It's the next player up mentality,
and we're just about set to go. Getting the starting
goal for the Halifax Max Kale Campbell. He's got a
one point five zero goals against average of nine to
forty save percentage. He's six to zero on the air.
And at the other end it's Noah Polk he's got
a six point two to seven goals against an eight
(02:00):
thirty seven save percentage. His record on the season two
and six, and we are underway from Cole Harbor placed
the Halifax Max wearing their dark red with the McDonald's
golden white trim skating from my left to right here
at Cole Harbor plays rink one and for the Hunters.
They're in their home Whites with the black trim skating
from my right to left puck into the Max zone.
(02:22):
They'll just flip it up towards center ice and bounces
by Loody at the red line for the Hunters. Now
jumping on that puck quickly as Evan Liver Liver in
behind the go feeds it right in front. A couple
of Max were there, but the puck goes by everybody
and the Max will retreat into center ice, now turning
with it. A Sheer. He scored the overtime winner in
last night's game, a tough fought affair down at the
(02:43):
Picto County Wellness Center against the Weeks. Here's another turnover
off the side of the goal is Sam Fleming got
a great shot away, tried to go short side, hit
the post. So some pressure early from the Max and
just to finish the thought on that overtime game winner
last night for number six Will Sheer. The Weeks actually
got up to nothing in that game and the Max
(03:06):
battle back, and it was just a little over a
minute into the ot period that Shearer scored a lovely
goal on the breakaway and gave the Max the Win
and keeps the Max undefeated on the ear thirteen and
oh good for twenty six points. The Hunters, their game
has been getting better as the season has rolled along.
(03:27):
They are they have six points on the air on
the strength of three victories. Not quite a minute and
a half played a good pace on a Sunday morning
air in Cole Harbor plays another puck fed toward the
front of the Hunter's goal and the Hunters able to
clear it away. Morris takes a big hit there by
Amoro Amorro, one of the affiliate players from the Cairo
(03:50):
care Kings into the lineup again. He's wearing number five.
Amoro back on the puck. He takes a nudge there
from Justin Kleuett for the Hunters. Again, a good pace
through the first couple of minutes. Here, who's a chuku now?
Who's a chuku trying to get around his man tree
Win Tree Win takes a big hit there by Schaefer Gibbs.
Gibbs back in the lineup after serving a three game suspension,
(04:13):
So the Hunters, I'm sure glad to have their captain
and one of their top defensemen back in the lineup.
Number three Shaeffer Gibbs puck in the mazone tree win
little touch pass there for MJ. Bottomley Bottomly through center
I sent to his own Bottomly off to the left,
takes a quick shot and a good save as that
puck was about two feet off the ice as Bottomly
(04:36):
snapped it and let it go, and Noah Pulk makes
the save mentioned MJ. Bottomley. He's the leading scorer on
this Max team through thirteen games. Bottomly ten goals, nine assists,
good for nineteen points, one of the top scorers in
the league and as mentioned, the leading scorer on this
very talented MAX club. Puck bounces toward the redline, intercepted
(05:01):
there by Jaden Weston. Weston wearing number nine again one
of the two affiliate defencemen that are in this lineup
today for the Max. Now McKnight down the left side.
McKnight stops hands it off there quick shot is letting
it go as Andrew Werkhart took the nice little feed
from McKnight, got a good shot away and the goaltender
Kale Campbell got a piece good action here. As we
(05:26):
come up to three minutes played in this opening period,
jumping in and I was guinnish. He loves to do
that to defenseman Jack's ginnish. He'll jump into the play
any chance he gets, and he's got the skill and
the wheels to be able to do just that, and
then he can recover if he has to. On the
defensive side of things. Here's Cooper Strong now as he
watches that puck go into the Hunter zone and as
(05:47):
Peyton bundro back to touch it. For the Hunters, it's
a nicing call against the Max, so the face off
will come down into the Max zone to go here
just a little bit of time off the clock in
this first perier, but again at good base. Both teams
flying up and down the ice here on a Sunday morning,
(06:09):
so I guess whatever they had for breakfast it's working. Yeah,
Obviously when you have an early morning start like this,
it somewhat adjusts your game day preparation. These teams typically
play late afternoon or evening games, but they're young players
they can adapt pretty well. Here comes Budrow now with
that puck, Peyton Budreau rushing it toward the red line.
(06:30):
He'll chip it into the mazone go after himself. Budrow
gets met there by Amorro and the puck goes over
to the boards on the left side. Lead pass trying
to connect what's strong that's intercepted by the Hunter's captain
Gibbs and sent it right back into the mazone. As
the Hunters will make some changes trying to get onto
that puck. There was Braden Martin. He slipped, stayed on
(06:53):
the puck though, tries to feed it out in front.
Hovering around was camera in her cart. But it's the
Max Shearer again, the overtime hero from last night One
on three. Shure tried to lift its short side under
the bar and sent it over the top of the goal,
but a good rush from Sharer jumping on the puck.
Now Liver tries to go to the far side a
save Mateen. Then the rebound chance blocked by the Hunter's
(07:15):
defense in front. Liver again puts it in toward the goal.
Max now putting lots of pressure on here Hunters trying
to get that puck out of the zone. This is
what the Max do. They come at you in waves,
shift after shift, constant puck movement, always pressure on the puck.
Another chance now down to a knee was Baldwin excuse me,
(07:37):
that was Carter Sullivan. The other number eight, Jack Baldwin,
of course, number eight for the Hunters. Carter Sullivan. Where's
the eight for the Max? Coming up now? Five minutes
exactly played in this pretty quick first period of play.
Shots on goal three to one, four of the Max.
Back to the right point. This is Weston. He'll send
(08:00):
a shot off the boards behind the Hunter's goal over
to the far side. This is Nate wood Row and
he'll watch it now as his teammate tried to work
it out of his own, but Mitchell couldn't get any
further than that. Taking a big hital on the boards
was Weston. And again Weston takes a bump, this time
(08:21):
from Morris, but the puck stays in the Hunter's zone.
Quick shot from River Welsh and the referee looks like
he's gonna make a charging call here, So over to
the penalty box goes number six Mason Morris. And Morris
(08:42):
laid that hit on Jaden Weston right at the blue
line just to my left, and Morris over to the
penalty box for charging. So the first power play of
the game goes to the ever dangerous Halifax Max. Here's Guinnisch.
Now Jack's Ginnish. Kreelman slides over the Guinness walking in
(09:03):
with a shot and lots of bodies in front, and
it hits someone in front of that hunter's goal and
deflex up into the netting, and we'll have a stoppage
and another face off in the hunter's end of the ice.
Face off will be to the right of Noah Pulk
in the hunter's goal. One forty six left to go
in the max power play over in the boxes Morris
(09:26):
for that charging Now off the face off Creelman from
the left point. He'll just roll it down low. Who's
a Chukuo has it down there? He'll leave it for
River Welsh, who's a Chico chasing on that puck. But Kreelman,
we'll get a tic tac toe passing. Who's a Chuco?
Got it to Guinish. Guinish, Now back to Creelman. Creelman
changes places with Guinness, feed it back to Jack's Ginich
(09:49):
right in front. A big chance there is waiting on
the doorstep was Fleming and he took the lovely little
slap pass from the left point and tried to feed
it in, but again Polk and the hunters able to
cover it. Up. But I'll tell you sometimes the Halifax
Max can be like Da Nova Scotia U eighteen Major
(10:11):
Hockey League equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters. The way they
circle around with the puck, the way they cycle it,
the quick passes, the tic tac toe passing, the speed,
it's all there for this Max team. Now down low,
it's McKay. I'm sure the Max are certainly boyd from
(10:33):
that overtime win last night against the Weeks. There's a
chance they score. The puck ended up going across the
face of the Hunter's goal to the right face off
circle and waiting for it was Ian love it and
he just walks into it, and it was kind of
an odd play Over on the left side on the
left circle, there was a collision and I believe it
(10:56):
was Noah Hawco it is. He's slow. I'm trying to
see if it's twelve or two, so excuse me. It's
number two, Liam Worth, not twelve. Noah Hawco. So Worth
collided with a Max player over on the far side,
left wing side for the Max, and off that collision,
the puck just kind of squirted over dagonally to the
(11:19):
waiting Ian Lovett, who just hammered it from about fourteen
feet at the side of the goal, and love It
has the goal. It's goal number nine on the season
for Ian Lovett, so love It has the goal. Max
(11:40):
have the power play goal and the lead. So again,
just kind of an odd play the way that it
kind of transpired with Worth having that collision, and then
while Worth was down and I'm sure his teammates for
a moment were just kind of taking a quick peak
to make sure that Liam was okay, the puck went
(12:01):
right onto the stick of Ian Lovett, who was at
the side of the goal on the right wing side,
and just hammered it in. Here's McKnight. Now right back
the other way. McKnight, with's up space, takes a shot
and Campbell down in the butterfly to take it off
the pads on a good rush from Leam McKnight. That's
the best chance of the game for the Hunters. And
(12:23):
now right back the other way coming in was number
twenty two. That's Carter O'Dell as he came in one
on three, Hunters stopped that. Now O'Dell will go for
a change and Hawko will bounce it off the boards
in behind his own goal onto the stick of Schaeffer Gibbs,
and Gibbs sends it all the way down the ice.
(12:46):
So number twenty eight on this Hunters he mentioned in
a moment ago. A new edition joined the team a
little over a week ago. It's Maverick Mitchell. Mitchell was
playing at a prep school in the US, and he's
back and again he's now a full time member of
this Hunter squad. Big body player again, wearing number twenty
eight for the March and Milco Hunters. Twelve minutes to
(13:11):
go in this opening period. Being led one nothing by
the Halifax Max puck comes into neutral ice. There's Amoro.
He's been steady in his early few minutes in this game.
Again one of the affiliate defenseman call ups, Jake Amer
and Jade Weston both have kind of fit right in
here so far. Again, it's just early. Here's Schaeffer. Now
(13:33):
it'll drop past the amorro Weaving through a crowd. Amoro
in the middle of a box of four Hunters players,
had the puck go off into the corner. Now live
or down low on that right side, sends it in
behind the Hunter's goal. Eleven twenty three to go. In
the first won nothing for the Max on the strength
of the Ian Lovett power play goal. Now Liver comes
(13:55):
back into his own zone. He'll just rifle it off
the boards over to the far side. It goes in,
the Hunters will send it back in. Hunters have to
clear the offensive zone. They do and the Max will gather.
Now with a smooth skating Amo again lead pass up
onto the stick of Sullivan. Sullivan puts on the brakes
at the circle. He's met by a couple of white
sweaters and Cluet will skate it away. Now for the
(14:17):
Hunter's clu It leaning from that left wing side, right
on top of them. There was River Welsh, but a
good shot was taken and again the goaltender Campbell had
to be sharp. Now Welsh trying to jump onto that puck,
but Hawko gets there first. As it sailed down into
the Hunter's zone. Clu It fed it into the middle
of the ice, just past Looty and now the Max
(14:40):
looking to transition the other way. Who's a chuku got
tangled up there with a couple of Hunters players and
the Hunters they'll take it off the boards into neutral ice.
Captain of the Max Tree win. They'll get it back
now Fleming for the Max gets met by Loody and
the puck will go down on to the stick of
Porter Kalida. Remember again I mentioned off the top Koalida,
(15:01):
Whar's number fourteen, normally a forward, but he's back playing
defense today for the Hunters with a couple of their
defenders being out of this game. Here is Khalida now
feeding it up the left wing side on the stick
of Morris, who gets it ahead. Here's Looty trying to
break in, couldn't get past tree Win, who made a
good defensive play as tree Win stuck to Looty the
(15:22):
entire way down that left wing side. Now Uzachuku feeds
it over to River Welsh into the zone back to Uzachuku,
he was tangled up there with Shaeffer Gibbs. Uzachuku takes
a bump but gets the puck. The Kreelman walks in
from the right point quick shot there. Then the rebound
cleared neatly away by Pulk and the Hunters nine twenty
(15:43):
six to go win this opening frame. Here's Gibbs now
taking it off the boards stopping it over. There is
Guinnish Jack's Ginnish steps back, floats it in river Welsh
with a chance point blank and pulk glorious ten bells
save as Welsh pad it from about nine feet eye
to eye with the goaltender. Quick shot at Pulk, beautiful
(16:07):
glove save and that'll keep the score one nothing. Max,
we're at the media timeout. We'll step aside, Max lead
one nothing. You're listening to the firm Foundation, media or
radio network.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
Nine to sixteen to go in the first period, Max
lead it one nothing over the Hunters face off to
the left of the Hunter's goalie Pulk, who just made
a great save, leading us into that media time out.
Here's McKay with a shot from the right side, good
saved by Pulk. Rebound was hanging loose and it gets
cleared back to the blue line on that left side
(17:28):
and the Hunters get it out. Lead pass couldn't quite
connect with Baldwin and the Max now with Bottomley bottom
He steps around, Baldwin, gets into the zone. Bottom me
down the right side, McKay heading toward the front of
the goal. Bottomley took a shot from that right wing board.
Pulk sharp with the save, and another shot fluttered in.
(17:50):
Kreelman let it go from that right point and it
frisbees into the glove of Pulk and he'll just freeze
it and hang on or a face off with eight
forty to go here in period number one, on an
early Sunday from Cole Harbor Place, a beautiful November day,
(18:10):
a couple of days ahead of Remembrance Day. Proudly wearing
my poppy on the jacket today to honor those who
have served and continue to serve in the military. Is
such an important part of the fabric of Canada. And again,
remembrance stay just a couple of days away. Here's a
(18:33):
chance now. As Merton let it go, Campbell made the save,
babbled the rebound and it was laying loose for a
second and the Max were able to clear. Always a
good idea to put a puck on goal. You never
know what can happen. Here's Share now from the left wing,
tried to cut intoward the front of the goal. Hunters
broke that up. Share again now at the right circle,
(18:56):
tried to get a shot through a defenseman. It came
back on to the stick of Amro, whom the puck
wide of the net. Now the Hunters will grab it
in neutral ice with Cluet. Clutt had due defenders watching him.
Clu It feeds it back up. Hi Gibbs lead those
he story shaffag Gabbs. Welcome back to the lineup. Gibbs.
You gotta goal and you've equalized. It's one one, So
(19:23):
a good rush by number seventeen justin clude. As he
brought the puck into the Max zone down the left
wing side, drew a couple of defenders with him and
then fed the puck back to Shaefer Gibbs who got
a good shot on goal. A little bit of traffic
in front of Campbell and it gets underneath the goaltender
(19:43):
of the Max and it's one one tell the goal
for Shaefer Gibbs. That's his fourth on the season, and
again after serving a three game suspension, a great way
to get back into the lineup. Here's a quick shot
right back the other way. Scherer took a shot and
Paul kend to go off his shoulder, so it's one
(20:05):
one with seven seventeen to go in the first period.
It's been a good one Mitchell. Now on that puck,
they're announcing the Hunter's goal. Now, so again goal number
four on the season. Four Gibbs and the Max right
(20:28):
back the other way. And now as they're still announcing
the Gibbs goal, we get a little bit of pushing
and shoving after the stoppage, so the officials will get
in there and sort all that out. Meanwhile, holding onto
the puck after making the save is the goaltender Paul
(20:48):
because he just calmly stands in his crease. It's like,
all right, you guys, done, chatting let's get back to
the hockey. So Gibbs with us fourth and we're back
to even up. Off the face off puck in the
(21:08):
hunter's zone. Six fifty two to go in this opening period,
it's now a one to one tie. A puck's still
in the hunter's own Hawko, we'll backhanded up towards Loudy.
Ludy was met there by Amro and Amorro able to
get the puck back into the hunter's zone. Peyton Budrow
takes it off the glass that bounce past Freelman Hair's
(21:28):
clue it again has Loudy in front, gets it over
towards Loudy, and the pass was just hindered enough by
Amorro and couldn't quite get it crisply over to the
waiting Loody. But a good rush again from number seventeen
justin klud down that left side. He set up Gibbs
a moment ago for the goal, and he almost had
(21:50):
Loudy set up right in front of the max net. However,
we carry on in a one to one tie. Six
oh seven to go. In this one to one tie
opening period, Welsh from the right point floats it in
towards the Hunter's goal. Only white sweaters there and the
Hunters tried to lift it high and out of the
zone was Kalida and ends up going off the netting
(22:10):
along the half wallt So we'll have a stoppage and
a face off. Shots on goal fifteen to five favoring
the Max one one your score. Love it for the
Max and Gibbs for the Hunters. Face off to the
(22:32):
left of Pulk. Love it and on the draw there
he was up against number eight Baldwin and it's a
clearing attempt. Does indeed go all the way down the ice,
So off the face off the Hunter's rabbit and it
goes the length of the ice for an icing against
the march and milk Coo Hunters. Face off will come
(22:55):
now to the right of Noah Pulk, who has been
good and the games that I've called win or lose,
Noah Pulk has always put on a solid goaltending performance.
He had that glorious ten bell glove save just before
the media time out earlier. In this period, he's phase
(23:15):
fifteen has given up just one. Hal McKay chops it
down into the goal into the zwner. I should say
there's the Max goalscorer love it, love it gets it
back to the blue line of hops just outside the line.
That'll force Jaden Weston to backpedal and the Max will
take it off the boards. Here's Bottomly from the half
while on the right side, fit it toward the front
(23:37):
of the ned. Bottomly again walks in and from that
right faceoff Dot got a good shot away and Pulk
covering up that near side came out to challenge the shooter.
It makes it relatively easy save. I guess no save
is easy, but in that particular case, I think Noah
might say that, yeah, I had that one all the
way face off, still in the hunter zone. Now we've
(24:06):
gone from the one side to the other, and now
back to this near side to the left of Pulp
scramble draw and Schaeffer Gibbs will send it in behind
the net. Cameron Rkart on that right wing side tried
to clear it out, but the Max send it right
back in the zone and after it as Haverstock Nash.
(24:26):
Haverstock watches as the puck goes along the half while
Fleming trying to keep it in there for the Max,
and he does, and then Fleming takes a hit from
clue and the puck will go back in behind the
Hunter's goal. Peyton Boudrou meets it there up to the
blue line on that left side, kept in though as
Ginnish stopped it and sent it back in toward the
(24:46):
Hunter's goal. Hunters will try to clear again. Ginnish knocked
it down, but it's clue and with a shot there
high over the glass, martin In looking for a loose
puck rebound and the puck will come to the boards
on the near side and the maxe Halifax Max trying
to clear it out. Kalita again normally a forward, but
he's back playing defense because the Hunter's missing a couple
(25:08):
of regular defenders. Now Khalida back defending against Guinnish. Guinness
try to step around Khalida and that's a pretty good
defensive play right there, as the Max came in two
on two in a good defensive play by Kalida again
normally a ford, but he doesn't look out of place.
Back play in d number fourteen in white No, I'm
(25:32):
backing up with that puck is worth. He'll get it
up to the red line and Nate Boodrow will fire
it down into the Max zone. Tree Win sends it
in behind his own net onto the stick of Amro.
Amro tries a reverse direction. It's picked up there by
Mitchell Maverick. Mitchell takes a nudge into the wall and
the puck will come out of this zone and Shareer
(25:53):
now right back the other way quickly. Sharer trying to
dance around the defender stop puts on the brakes. Sharer
backs off to the half wall, sends it in behind
the Hunter's net. Liver tried to backhand it in front
as League was given the puck by Carter Sullivan. Live
r again. Now Amro just inside the blue line over
the tree Win one timer and a pad saved by Pulk.
(26:18):
Tree went again wearing the captaincy for the Max. Gets
it up to Sheer into the zone from the right circle.
Share a little toe drag. Tried to use Gibbs. There's
a screen and the shot deflected off Gibbs and goes
up and out of play. Three minutes exactly left to
go in this first period, one one your score. Ian
(26:38):
Lovitt opened up for scoring a power play goal for
the Max made it one nothing and equalizing here in
this first period, Schaefer Gibbs with his fourth so three
minutes to go in the period. Face off was in
that Hunter's zone, but it squirts out into neutral ice
where the Max will gather Max in behind their own goal.
(27:01):
This is Guinnis he can fly Jack's Ginnish coast to
coast cuts into the middle. Guinnish had the puck roll
off the toe of his stick and it went harmlessly
in towards Paul Cool stopped it, but again just a
gorgeous rush from number twenty one Jack's Ginnish. Guinish has
the puck now in his own zone as Cluett tried
(27:22):
to rush it up and Ginnish flips it high into
the air and it ends up going off of the
metal girders up into the ceiling. Here at Cole Harbor Place,
Rink one face off in the Max zone to the
left of their goaltender, Kale Campbell, part of a very
(27:43):
good goaltending candem for the Max Chandler Bell, their other goaltender.
As that harmlessly rolls in as the puck came in
towards the Max goal and just kind of got pushed
slowly in towards Campbell, who grabbed quickly and didn't want
to take any chances, so he covered it and we'll
(28:04):
have another face off once again. To the left of Campbell,
Loony in on the face off up against Fleming and
it's the Max who'll control off the draw that puck
bounces up toward the red line, chopping after it was
Peyton Budrow with the plays whistle down and with two
twelve to go, we'll have another face off. Hope you're
(28:28):
enjoying your Sunday wherever you are, and appreciate you tuning
in whatever device you're listening on. Always great to have
you tuned into the firm Foundation Media or radio network
hour continuing coverage of the Nova Scotia UA team Major
Hockey League. Want to remind you as well, the brand
new official podcast of the Nova Scotia A Team Major
(28:49):
Hockey League, the Ice Jam, launched last week. I'm very
pleased to be hosting and producing the podcast, and you
can find the ice Jam podcast wherever you listen to
your podcast. It's on all the major podcast platforms. McKnight
tried to cut through the defense, couldn't get any further
then just outside the Max blue line, and then Hawko
(29:11):
flips it down into the mazone and that'll be whistled
down play again, So the face off comes down just
outside the Hunter's blue line on the near side. Love
it in on the face off up against Baldwin, scramble
(29:32):
draw and it ends upon the stick of McKnight who
feeds it to Baldwin. He works it up over to
the fireside, Andrew Urkhart sends it down into the mazone Treeland.
He'll bank it off the boards. Kalita kicks it in,
keeping it in good play there by Kalita, and then
the puck was sent over towards Baldwin. But the puck
just jumped out over the blue line and then back in,
(29:56):
so the Hunters were offside a buck thirty two left
here in period one, a one to one tie. Hunter's
being out shot eighteen to eight, but they've had their moments,
and hey, they're in a one to one tie with
the top team in the league, Max undefeated as mentioned
(30:18):
off the top thirteen and oh twenty six points. Max
pulled one unt of the fire last night, getting the
ot win down in Picto County against the Weeks. That
puck was sent towards the Hunter's goal, but it's cleared out.
Coming up with it now is Andrew Workhart gets it
over to Baldwin. Baldwin tried to slide it back to
Andrew and it went by him. And now the Max
(30:41):
send it all the way down the ice as gibbson
Haverstock exchanging pleasantries there with fifty six point five to
go in the period, hoping to have Gavin Sunz join
us here during the first innimission for a quick chat.
(31:03):
SuDS serving the game one of a two game suspension,
so not in the lineup today, and again we're hoping
to have Gavin on with us in the first innimission,
so stay tuned for that face off in the Max
zone over on the first side to the left of
Campbell in the Max goal, Strong up against Clewett. The
(31:24):
two number seventeen's on the face off and it's the
Max who win the face off. Tree Win had it
for a moment, Max trying to work it up the
right wing boarde Strong couldn't get any further than the
red line and the Hunter send it back into the
Max zone. With forty seconds to go in the first period, Max,
still hemmed in their own zone trying to work it free,
(31:44):
was Fleming. He takes a hit Entree when we'll come
out now Tree, Win slides it over to Haverstock. Haverstock
try to get around Worth. Good defensive play there by
the Hunter's d man. Puckstays in the zone along the
boards near side. Strong tried to work it forward. Good
(32:04):
work there from Cooper Strong. Just a dozen seconds to go,
Puck pinned in behind the Hunter's goal and Worth picks
it up, dangerous passing his ship, but by Kreelman walks
in and a big right pad save there as Worth
turned it over and Kreelman jumping on that Puck got
a great shot away and a gorgeous right pad saved
(32:28):
by the Hunter's goaltender Noah Pulk. Paulk has faced nineteen
and some of them have been high quality chances, and
Poulk has been good. Beaten just once in those nineteen
max shots and an interesting face off configuration with just
(32:50):
point four to go, everybody set up right in front
of the Hunter's goal, as the face off was at
the circle on the far side. But with just us
four tends to go, not much time the puck has dropped,
time expires, buzzer sounds and the first period comes to
a close, a good one for both teams as they
each get a goal one to one after one shots
(33:12):
on goal through one period, nineteen for the Max and
eight for the March and Milk co Hunters. We'll step aside,
take a break. One period done, It's one one Max
and Hunters. You're listening to the firm Foundation media or
radio network. We'll be back.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
Hit play, Join the Jam.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
Welcome back to Cole Harbor Place. After one period of play,
the visiting Halifax Max and the home side March and
Milco Hunters tied one to one after one very please
be joined by the President of the Nova Scotia Team
Major Hockey League, Pologram. Paul, thanks for coming on. I
saw you in the stands. I went over tapped you
on the shoulder. You were good enough to come over
and chat. Thanks for doing this.
Speaker 6 (34:33):
Oh my pleasures got an ice pleasure.
Speaker 3 (34:35):
So I saw you and I said, hey, do you
want to come on for a minute. Let's talk about
some exciting news. The ice Jam podcast, which is now
the official podcast of the Nova Scotia Team Major Hockey League,
launched last week with episode one. You were kind enough
to come on and guest in episode one. But for
anyone listening, Paul, what can you tell them about kind
(34:56):
of what the mission statement of the ice Jam podcast
is and why the league was interested in doing it well.
Speaker 6 (35:02):
The mission really is to learn more about what the
rest of the hockey world's doing at this age level,
what we call prospect hockey level, this fifteen sixteen, seventeen
year old cohort Scott. We feel that the focus of
hockey now has gotten younger and it's now beyond the
junior age group towards the U eighteen and you seventeen,
(35:26):
and lots of things are happening. The sand is shifting
beneath our feet right now with changes in the hockey world.
And I'm not saying they're bad or critical of them,
but we don't quite know and understand what's all of
it is about. And our purpose for the podcast is
to learn to ask and see what the best practices are.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
Even last night watching Hockey Night in Canada during the intermission,
Elliott Freeman in the panel, we're talking about what's happening
at the NHL level with nineteen year old and being
able to send a nineteen year old to the American
League and should there be two instead of one and
everything around that. As you said, sands are shifting. There's
so many things happening, certainly within the last twelve months
or so. What's that like from a league perspective in
(36:09):
terms of trying to navigate all of those things that
are going on.
Speaker 6 (36:13):
Oh, it's a great question. It's confusing to be honest
with you and fun at the same time, because we
do know that things are happening. Progress too, is at
the light at the end of tunnel here, so we
want to be part of that. But it is exciting
to think about that. Even at the highest levels of hockey,
they're talking about this younger age group, and again I
come back to it, it's really this real raw prospect
(36:36):
hockey fifteen, sixteen, seventeen year olds. I don't say we're overlooked,
but the focus is on them now because by the
time you're nineteen, like they're saying at the NHL, you're
either professional or headed that direction and you've been well scouted.
Speaker 7 (36:50):
It's this raw talent that we're trying to figure out
what to do with.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
Once upon a time, and I don't want to have
recency bias, and you know, think about something that happened
a long time is way way different than it was.
But I'm pretty sure I remember a time, Paul, where
you had to be pretty exceptional to make an impact
at the NHL level as a nineteen twenty or even
a twenty one year old. Now, as we broadcast this,
we're looking at Maclin Celebrini, a young man up toward
(37:17):
the top of the league and scoring a connover Dard
twenty years old, Celebrini nineteen. I even look at my
Montreal Canadians. Yes, I say their mind, I claim them.
But the young team that they have from your perspective,
where we are in twenty twenty five, even compared to
let's say twenty years ago, how different is it in
terms of the youth making an impact.
Speaker 6 (37:38):
Well, you've stated it, it's in my view, it's a
generational change.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
It is, and we're never gone back.
Speaker 6 (37:45):
So by the time of your twenty five you're starting
to think about the end of your career instead at
the beginning of your career. And again it's not a criticism,
it's just the way we are in sport, all sports
getting younger. So you're absolutely right at nineteen years old,
the NHL is trying to figure out what to do
with these professional kids now on how to develop them
into twenty because by twenty one they want you in
the league. It's exciting, it's exciting for our for our
(38:09):
group at this age level, the focus is on them,
but we want to make sure that we're doing the
right like having the right development plan and right now
it's just been confusing and we want to hear best practices.
Speaker 3 (38:21):
Wrap up with you here in a sec But our
guest on this week's Ice Jam podcast is Andre la Fave.
That episode will drop on Thursday, the thirteenth of November,
so a few days time. But what do you want
folks to know about Honor that they may not know.
Speaker 6 (38:38):
Well, he's been in our he's been involved in hockey
for a long time, been played in our league, and
an alumni of our league, coach in our league. There's
a GM in our league. And now he's the technical
director at one of the HRM minor hockey associations, Open Mind.
He's also elite scout in the Charlottown Islands at the Queue.
So what he brings to the table for us is
(38:59):
a broader big picture, And that's what I want people
to understand too, is Andre. He's not just coming in
and tell us how to run power plays or that
sort of thing, but we're asking him to give us
the bigger picture of what he sees, his insights and
intuition center.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
Well maybe I'm biased, but you and I were discussing
off Mike that the ice Jam podcast has come along
at a very opportune time. So again, thank you for
being the first guest on our initial episode last week,
and we look forward to having Andre on for episode
two and exciting things coming episode three and beyond. And again,
thank you Paul for your and the league's cooperation in
(39:34):
getting that podcast off the ground.
Speaker 7 (39:35):
Thank you very much, Scott.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
As always, that's Paul Graham. He is the president of
the Nova scoti Ua team Major Hockey League. We appreciate
him stopping by for a moment flist episode. Take a
quick greag puck drop in period two just around the corner.
It's the Max and the Hunters tied at one.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
We'll be back, ready to jam with the future of hockey.
Speaker 1 (39:52):
The Ice Jam podcast is the official podcast of the
Nova Scotia You eighteen Major Hockey League. Each episode brings
you inside the game with coach, scouts, and league leaders
shaping the next generation of talent. From ringside stories to
development insights, it's all here, available now on all major
podcast platforms, hit Play, Join the Jam.
Speaker 3 (40:12):
Welcome back to Cole Harbor Place Again. A big thank
you to Paul Graham, president of Nova Scotia you a
teen Major Hockey League, for coming on and chatting whether
we were hoping to have Gavin Sudds. Perhaps he was
thinking it's the second emission, but regardless that's okay. Sometimes
the players can be extra busy when they're not in
the lineup, and it was great that Paul Graham came
(40:34):
on to talk about specifically the Ice Jam podcast. The
brand new League podcast at launched last week, again available
wherever you find your podcasts. We are underway in period
and number two of this one to one tie. Teams
have switched ends now of course the Max and they're
red with the McDonald's golden white now skating my right
(40:54):
to left, and the home side Hunters in their whites
with black trim now skating my left to right. We
are full of even strength as we begin period number two.
That shot from Guinish as he walked in from the
left side, deflected off a stick and went up over
top of the goal. Hunters try to clear it out.
It gets by Guinnish at the blue line, but Tree
went there to gather up that puck and send it
(41:16):
forward for the Max. Worth steps into it, walks just
outside the blue line. Lets a long shot go handled
no problem by Cale Campbell and the Max goal kle
Campbell in net for the Max, Liam Pulk for the
Hunters trying to work with that puck now was Nate Budrow.
Boodrow sends it up the left wing boards and the
(41:36):
other Boodrow Peyton was there no relation, Peyton Boudreau. Where's
twenty four? Nate Budrou number twenty three, there's a long
shot from the left point. Hawko let it go and
Campbell with a nice pad save. Here's Carter Sullivan. Now,
little chip pass up ahead onto the stick of Shearer
and Scherer will send it in and the Max will
make a change and try to get that puck back
(42:00):
into the zone, and they do with Fleming. Fleming stepped
off the bench met the puck, sent it into the
hunter's zone. Max had to clear the zone on the
delayed off side, and they do. Then it'll come up
toward the red line that went off the skate of
Amorro and it's picked up quickly by cheek a Uzachuku.
Puck slowly rolls down into the hunter's zone getting there first.
(42:21):
That was Fleming for the Max. Max trying to get
a little pressure going here in the hunter's zone. But
the Hunters will skate it out down the right side.
Looty chips it into the Max zone. Morris gets after
it down low. Morris tried to feed it right out
in front, intercepted there by Kreelman. Good defensive play in
front of his own goal by number four Riley Kreelman.
(42:43):
Just over two minutes played here in this second period
of a one to one time Max and the Hunters
glad to have you along here on the Firm Foundation
media or radio network. And that puck goes all the
way down into the Mac zone, and that's an icing
versus merches me icing, i should say, against the Hunters.
So the teams will saunter back into the Hunter's zone
(43:04):
and we'll have a face off, and it'll be to
the left of Noah Paul, who's been really good in
this game for the March and Milkow Hunters. The goaltender
has faced nineteen given up just the one, and that
was to Ian Lovett on the power play early in
the first period. Schaeffer Gibbs has the replying goal for
(43:26):
the Hunters. So that's where we were at the end
of one period, one one and we're still one one
has Loved steps into his man, took Loudy heavily into
the boards, play carries right on. Loudy jumps on that
puck has Morris two on one over the Morris just
beyond the reach of Mason Morris as Loudy slid the
puck across to that left side and Morris just couldn't
(43:47):
reach it about six inches too fire in front of
Morris's stick. Morris on that puck again takes a hit
into the corner as Creelman pasted him into the wall.
Shot from the left point as Gibbs let it go,
bounces to the air over top of the Max bowl.
A little bit of pressure here now from the Hunter's
looty back to Gibbs at the left point. He'll slide
(44:08):
it over to Kalida and Kalida lost the handle on
it and the Hunters have to regroup again. If you're
just joining us, Porter Khalida wearing number fourteen, normally a forward,
but because of a couple of defensemen out of the
lineup today for the Hunters, Khalida has moved back and
is playing defense and so far he's played pretty Darren
(44:29):
good back there, sixteen fifty two left to go. Period two.
Early stage is here of this second frame off the
face off puck goes in toward the Hunter's goal and
the Hunter is able to clear it up along the
boards on that left side. Now Ginnish for the Max
(44:49):
back pedals turns lifts it down into the Hunter's zone.
Khalida there being pressured by Haverstock. Haverstock forces the turnover,
Kalida gets it right back and then lost it a again.
Back and forth we go, teams playing hot potato with
the puck right now goes to the boards on that
far side. Jaden Weston takes a bump into the wall.
(45:10):
Weston and Amoro two affiliate players up from the Cairo
care Kings filling in. Max down a few defenses in
this game as well, and there's a penalty coming as
Haverstock got taken down chance right in front pile up
in front of Pulp, the net gets heaved off the
moorings and several players piling up right in front of
(45:32):
the blue ice and Noah Pulk will go for a skate.
And just before that mad scramble in front of the
Hunter's goal, Nash Haverstock got dragged down and now it'll
be a power play for the Max. Heading over to
the penalty box is number fourteen, Porter Khalita, the aforementioned
(45:55):
typical forward who's back playing defense. Today for his side.
So Kalida to the penalty box, Max to the power play.
Not quite four minutes have come off the clock here
in period and number one you should be number two,
So off the face off in the hunter's zone as
(46:18):
they announced the penalty, so tripping the call to Khalida again.
It was Haverstock who got taken down. Now Max sitting
up on the power play in the hunter's zone. Here's
Treeman over to Guinness walking and Ginnish with a rising
shot and Pulk with a couple of bodies in front
of him, tracks it and grabs it to make the save.
(46:46):
So that took nineteen seconds off the max power play
face off to the right of the hunter's net face off.
Win thereby liver, but it goes by everybody. Now Guinnish
in a race with Remy Bellavo, just leaves it there
for tree Win, tree Win wearing the Captain c today.
Here is now Logan tree Win skating up with that
(47:08):
puck nice feet ahead to Carter Sullivan. Sullivan little drop
past to Shearer and it's run around the boards, comes
over to the near side live skated past it, Sullivan
feeds it back. Tree went walks in and his shot
went off the skate of a Hunter's defender right in front.
Good play there by Nate Boodrow clogging up the lane.
Max keep possession of it though. On this power play
(47:30):
one minute to go in the man advantage, Tree Win
from the left side whistled a shot trying to go
near side to the blocker side of Pulp. Guinness fakes
the shot, passes it down low fit in front. They
score some tick tac toe passing again and Carter Sullivan
was in front as the puck was fed out front
(47:51):
down low by Liver and there were a few MAX
players in front, and I think it was Carter's Sullivan
who put it in. So it's another power play goal
for the Halifax Max. We'll wait for the official call,
but again I believe it might have been Sullivan, but
we'll wait for the official announcement. Again. The puck is
(48:13):
fed fed out in front of the Hunter's goal from
below the Hunter's goal line. There was some traffic in front,
and after the puck win in the neck, Carter Sullivan
actually got taken down the ISO. Again. We'll just wait
for the official call to make sure that I give
you the right goal. Scorer. Now back the other way.
This is Andrew Werkhart cutting in front her cart trying
to answer right back, tried to jam the puck in.
(48:36):
Campbell has lost his goal stick. His goalstick way over
in the corner. So Campbell no goal stick right now.
Gibbs lets a shot go from the left point and
taking it into the midsection is Campbell, and he'll squeeze
it and make the save. So Campbell, without a goal
stick able to challenge the shooter, Gibbs and makes the save.
(48:58):
Campbell gets the goal stick back back to five on
five even strength hockey hair face off to Campbell's right
off the drop Puckfitt of the high slot. It was
a Chuku grabs it, so Sullivan does indeed get the goal.
So for curter Sullivan, that's goal number eight on the
(49:19):
season for him, and it's a power play marker. So
Liver and Guinnish get the assists on that Sullivan goal.
So two goals for the Max, both on the power play.
So that'll make the coaching staff happy with the special
(49:40):
teams getting a couple of power play goals here. So
again for Sullivan, that's goal number eight on the year
for him. So the Max with fourteen to ten to go,
have a power play goal and have taken a to
one lead. Now Max on that puck again, Gibbs laid
(50:05):
a big hit on his man as he took Fleming
into the wall in the corner and the pucking neutral ice.
Now Fleming gives way for River Welsh from the left
wing side. Quick shot and a good pad save by Pulk.
On that tricky shot low along the ice from River Welsh,
puck to the red line, bounced off a stick, Kreelman
will grab it for the Max. He'll slide it across
(50:27):
all the way down into the Hunter's zone. It goes
no icing and Hawko will get there first. Hawko takes
a nudge from Welsh puck, goes in behind the Hunter's
goal and grabbing it. There is love it love It
opened up the scoring in this game way back early
in the first Now Creelman from the left point rolls
it in behind the goal all the way to the
(50:47):
other side. MJ Bottomly met the puck there and away
from the play. As the puck and the play was
in the far corner low in the Hunter's zone. Back
on the near side by the blue there was a
little bit of Shenanigan's going on, and it looks like
didn't see what happened is I was watching the play.
I think it was Cameron Rkart who took some kind
(51:11):
of heavy hit. I'll happy to wait and see what
the call was. Again, this was well behind the play.
I was watching the puck and the main play down
in the far corner. Then I saw the whistle. If
I heard the whistle, I should say it saw Cameron
Urkart getting up slowly and over to the penalty box,
goes Riley Kreelman. So Creelman again, I'll wait to see
what the official call is. So roughing the call and
(51:37):
it's a two minute minor. So Creelman in the box
for roughing Hunters to the power play and a chance
to equalize here with the man advantage, it's two to
one max lead. Turning with the puck now that's big
Maverick Mitchell Mitchell again, where is number twenty eight? Joined
the team recently and then he'll be again as a
(51:58):
full time member. Now of this March and Milkow Hunter's
team puck down below the goal line in the max
end of the ice, twelve thirty six to go in
the second, one twenty to go in the power play
for the Hunters, Loody on that puck being challenged there
Tree when doing some good defensive work down in the
corner on that fire side puck deep in the Max zone.
(52:19):
A couple of players trying to move that puck in
the corner. This is taking time off of the power
play and that shoots the Max just fine, and the
Max will just send it the length of the ice.
Pulk stops it there sends it up towards the captain
of the Hunter, Schaeffer Gibbs. Gibbs nicely pass on to
the stick of Baldwin. Baldwin in the Mac zone tried
(52:39):
to backhand it down low, but it was intercepted. Now
Kluet jumps on it for the Hunters. Klutz had himself
a good game for the Hunters. Takes a bump into
the wall as Guinnish laid the body and the puck
comes to the side of the goal and with his
stick and blocker, Campbell will freeze the puck on to
(53:00):
eleven forty nine left in this second period, thirty five
seconds left in the power play for the March and
Milkow Hunters face off to the right of Campbell. Shots
on goal twenty four to eleven, favoring the Max. Hunters
playing a sound game here. Yes, they've given up twenty
(53:22):
four shots, but paulk has played well and they're trailing
by just a goal to the top team in the league.
There's a shot as Howko let it go from the
right point, traffic in front, and it got deflected into
the pads of Campbell. Now shorthanded back the other way
into the zone as Schaeffer. Shaeffer ducks underneath the hit
and Morris will skated out for the Hunters. He sends
(53:45):
it into the magzone. Guinnish reaching for it there in
a head of Andrew Workhart. Guinnish has the puck. He'll
just turn and saw ser that puck down the ice.
Now the Hunters on that puck in their own zone.
Power play is over. Max did a good job killing
(54:08):
it off. So back to even strength hockey. Here, love
it in behind his own goal, sweeps it around the boards,
stopping it. There was Peyton Budow put it in toward
the goal and it was deflected in behind. Now the
Max will turn in transition with Lovett rushing it down
the left side. Love it cuts to the middle back
hands it in toward the net. Liver was waiting for it,
(54:29):
but it goes down low in behind the net. Cross
Eyes pass right in front Cooper Strong. Big save by
Pulp and he covers up the rebound with several Max
players hoping for a rebound, so pressure again coming from
the Max and Pulk answering the call once again. Noah
(54:50):
Pulk has been nothing short of spectacular in the Hunter's goal.
Getting close to the mid point of period number two,
face off will be in the Hunter's zone to the
left of young mister Paulk. Both teams just getting their
(55:13):
face off alignment set. It'll be live or for the Max,
Baldwin for the Hunters, and off the face off, the
puck rolls into the corner deepen the Hunter's end corner
boards over on the far side. Two players from each
team wrangling trying to get that puck out and coming
away with it is Baldwin. He'll skate it out toward
(55:34):
the blue line now into neutral ice. Baldwin takes a
little nudge there from Amro along the boards right in
front of the Hunter's bench. Now the puck comes to
the near sideboards and the Max Ender the ice Amoro,
we'll backtrack into his own zone, being watched there by
Belle Vote and then it comes into neutral ice again.
Schaeffer Gibbs back pedals into his own zone, slides it
(55:56):
across the Peyton Boodroau pucks it down into the Mac
zone and that'll be an icing Hunters fans don't agree
with it. And as we've crossed into the second half
of the second period, nine to fifty to go, we'll
step aside. It's the media time out. Max on the
road lead the Hunters to to one media timeout.
Speaker 2 (56:14):
We'll be back, ready to jam with the future of hockey.

Speaker 3 (57:02):
So with nine fifty to go second period action, the
Max have the lead. Teams exchanged goals in the first
period and curter Sullivan has the only goal so far.
Here in period two, face off in the Hunter's zone
fireside to the left of Pulp clean face off win
(57:23):
for the Max. Tree Win rushes a pocket in the
quarner sencident front. Oh, beautiful pass from tree Win from
the corner boards, right out front on the stick of
the waiting River Welsh and Welsh like being on the
green with a tap in for par puts it in
behind the goal again. Just a gorgeous feed from tree
(57:46):
Win and River Welsh the beneficiary of that pass. And
for Welsh, he's now got double digit goals on the air.
That's goal number ten for Welsh and the Max have
doubled their lead. It's now three to one, so goal
(58:06):
number ten on the season for Welsh's first goal of
the game. Goal number three for the Max and now
Halifax leads it one nothing. This is the They're just
giving the goal announcement. Now, so Fleming and Treewin get
the assists on that River Welsh goal again, his tenth
(58:27):
of the season. Now Fleming in on that puck down low,
walks out in front. Fleming stars. Oh my, Sam Fleming.
I don't know how he found rome as he walked
off the boards behind the Hunter's goal on the near
side to the blocker side of Pulk, walked out in front,
(58:47):
and I don't think there was much more than about
two feet between the goaltender and the shooter, and somehow
Fleming found space. He literally roofed it up over the
shoulder of Pulk who was trying to get across and
cover up that near side. And back to back goals
(59:10):
very quickly from the Max and they now have a
four to one lead. That's goal number eleven on the
air for Sam Fleming. And talk about a seeing eye shot.
Just a great job by Fleming to see a little
bit of daylight and he roofs it up over the
shoulder of Pulk and it's four to one Max. So
(59:32):
Sam Fleming, goal number eleven on the air for Sam.
And again I just I'm not really sure I know
that he did it because I watched it. It happened,
but just a tremendous effort from Fleming to walk out
(59:53):
and the eye to eye with the goaltender paulk and
not have very much daylight at all, but he found
an opening and it high over the Hunter's netminder and
the Max now have a three goal lead. It's for
to one, so they're announcing the Fleming goal now, Guinness
(01:00:13):
getting an assist as well as Tree win so to
defenseman for the Max assist on the Fleming goal. So
four different goal scorers for the Max love it, Sullivan,
Fleming and Welsh. Those are your four. That's your four
(01:00:34):
to one lead. So again the teams scored a goal
apiece in period one, but it's three goals unanswered here
for the Max in period two with eight and a
half minutes to play. Now for the Hunters, it's all
about maintaining composure and playing the game that you've been playing.
And we've got a delayed penalty coming here. Hunter's net
(01:00:55):
is empty as taken down was Peyton Budrow. So Budrou
got hauled down in behind his own net. And I'm
sure the coaching staff for the Max, while they're happy
with the lead, they won't be happy about taking an
offensive z own penalty, especially behind the opponent's net. However,
it happens, and over to the penalty box goes Ian
(01:01:15):
love it so with eight eighteen to go in the
second period, love it to the penalty box. Hunters to
the power play face off in the max zone to
the right of the goaltender Campbell. Campbell hasn't faced near
as many shots as Pulk, but he's been good when
called upon. So the hunter's now sitting up on the
(01:01:36):
power play. Baldwin from the right point dishes down low.
Hunters sitting it right out in front. There that was Mitchell.
Mitchell chases after the puck has it down low. There's
Mitchell now getting it back to the left point. Cluet
skates in, walks in, takes the sharp angle shot good
saved by Campbell, and the rebound was being whacked away
(01:01:56):
at there by the Hunters by Campbell solid on the
pads down, covering up and sucks it in for a
save and a rebound control. Get a face off one
point one left in the hunter's power play face off
(01:02:18):
again to the right of Campbell. Then the lines person
coming over to make sure the configuration is good here
on this face off scramble draw, Amro chases it down
into the corner, Loody right on top of him, and
the Max able to clear it out of the zone.
Baldwin all the way back in behind his own goal
for the Hunters as they try to get something going
(01:02:40):
here on this power play, Loudy down the right side,
one twelve to go in the man advantage. Loody swoops
in behind the Max goal, bouncing it off the wall.
Amoro will meet it down low in the corner, slides
it in behind the Max goal where Tree when we'll
pick it up Tree Win try to connect with an
on rushing Fleming went by Fleming stick all the way
(01:03:02):
down into the hunter' zone. Baldwin will get it there again.
Fleming lone man in on the four check shorthanded here
for the Max. Good work by Fleming down low. Fleming
takes a big hit into the boards. You could hear
the thud up here and that got the reaction from
the MAX bench and the Max fans here at Cole
(01:03:22):
Harbor Place, and it will indeed draw a penalty. So
good for checking work shorthanded by the Max ends up
drawing the penalty and the Max player still down in
the corner. And now the officials never good when you
(01:03:42):
see the notebook come out, so I'm guessing this is
going to be more than a minor penalty. So the
all the officials now gathered at the red line. One
referee had the notebook out making some notes here. So
it was Fleming, who was doing a lot of great
(01:04:03):
work on the fore check who took that big hit.
And it's great to see Fleming up under his own
power and skating to the Max bench. Now it's gonna
be well, I'm not sure if it's going to be
a boarding call or a cross checking call. So over
to the penalty box goes Mason Morris. But just with
(01:04:25):
the referee having the notebook, I know, I don't like
to assume, but you got to think that there was
probably something more coming out of this than just a
two minute minor. So we'll have to wait and see
what they announce on the PA system. Here at Cole
Harbor Place, Kreelman and Clewett at the redline talking things
(01:04:45):
over with one of the referees. So again Fleming was
on the receiving end of that big thunderous hit down
in the corner on the near side in the Hunter's end.
He was down for a few seconds after the hit. Again,
it was good to see him get up under his
own power and skate to the bench. So they've got
(01:05:05):
two minutes up on the board. Mason Morris is in
the penalty box serving it. But again we'll have to
wait and see what they announced, to see what else
may have come from that hit in the corner. So
six p fifty nine to go in the second period,
there's still forty seconds left in the penalty to love
it of the max. So with Morris in the box
and the two minutes up, there'll be a fairly long
(01:05:28):
sketch of four on four hockey. Here face off in
the Hunter zone of the right of the goaltender, Pulk
So Gibbs, Schaeffer Gibbs. So Gibbs gets the game misconduct
(01:05:51):
for I believe it again, trying to pick up the
announcement there in the arena. It was either boarding or
hitting from behind, but I did hear the part where
it said a game misconduct. So Schaeffer Gibbs had the
only goal so far for the Hunters and was just
(01:06:13):
coming back after serving a three game suspension. He's now
done for the rest of this day. And that's another
defense out of a lineup. There's Cluett making a great
rush down the left side, whistled a shot to the
short side, and Campbell just got a piece in the
Max net. So Morris serving the two minute minor four
on four hockey. Here make that five on four now
(01:06:35):
as the max penalty is over. Here's Guinnish trying to
feed it back down there to Shaefer, now live just
inside the blue line, dishes off to Schaeffer walks in
from the right point with a shot and a good
save from Pulk. Hundred minute to go in the max
power play, a Guinish dishes down to the right, little
(01:06:55):
tap pass to the circle. Schaefer got a good shot
away and a blockers from Pulk. Puck over on the
boards right in front of the Max players bench. Max
still on the power play, they went back to the
point with it hopped over the stick of Guinnish, and
now both teams will make some quick changes here. With
five thirty to go in the second period, half a
(01:07:16):
minute ago in the minor penalty to the Hunters, Max
on the power play down the right side, Schafer digging in,
swooping around to go, feeds it out in front and
a chance there as Sullivan chipped it just over top
of the goaltenders pad Max still on the power play
twelve seconds to go in the man advantage for Halifax.
(01:07:38):
Here's Guinnish from the left side, backs away, slides it
over to the right side, Kreelman sends it daggly. River
Welsh tried to flip its short side and put it
wide on the night setup, penalty is over. Teams back
to even strength. Here's Liver from the dot on that
right side, put dribbling right in front of the goal
(01:07:58):
and the Hunter is able to clear. That's gonna go
the length out of the ice and Creelman skating back
their stride for stride with Andrew Werkhart watches as the
puck goes to the boards, icing the call and the
Hunters will have a face off in their own zone.
So again Schaefer Gibbs puts the big hit on Sam
(01:08:19):
Fleming down in the corner. Gibbs done for the day,
so another defenseman out of the lineup for the Hunters.
So again we talk about that next player up mentality.
That's where the Hunters are right now, especially on defense.
There's a long shot from the right point, letting it fly.
There was Weston for the Max. Shot went wide and
(01:08:42):
now it'll come back into the Max zone. Here's Weston.
Once again, Weston chopping at that pucket'll go behind the
Max goal. Creelman went down to a knee but was
able to move the puck up ahead. Here's Welsh. Now
Welsh has a goal in this game for the Max.
He'll send it down into the Hunter's zone. Four twelve
to go in this second period. It's been an eventful one,
(01:09:04):
certainly the last few minutes. Max have three goals to
take a four to one lead. Schaeffer Gibbs gave misconduct
for his heavy hit in the corner. Now here's a chance.
Urkhart lets a shot go. Cameron Urkat with a great
shot from about twenty feet from the right side and
a good blocker saved by the goaltender Campbell. Now right
(01:09:26):
back the other way, puck go over along the boards
nearer side on the half wall in the Hunter's end
of the ice. Kalita gives way there and Urkart sends
it in behind his own goal. Now over there is
Peyton Budrow he tried to move it in, couldn't Max
jump on the puck quickly Welsh in behind the goal
back to Tree when at the left point Tree win
(01:09:47):
walks into the middle takes a long shot that hit
the stick of Fleming and deflected up over top of
the Hunter's net. Three point twenty to go in the
second period. Scrum down below the goal line and the
Max will come away with it. Fit in toward the
high slot area and owning white sweaters there and the
Hunter's able to clear it out. Puck was passed there
(01:10:07):
from McKnight trying to find a teammate, but it didn't work,
and the Max will transition back the other way. Love
It takes a step around the defensive pad, save and
the rebound just chopped away. There is a good rush
and shot from Ian Lovett. Good saved from Pulk and
now the puck up toward the red line. Bottomley sends
it back down into the Hunter's zone. The physicality has
(01:10:30):
certainly picked up here in this second period. Now Urkhart
in tight takes a shot. Campbell got a piece the
rebound all the way to the blue line. Good rush
there from Cameron Urkart, great shot away I don't think
Campbell knew where it was after the initial save, but
the Max were able to clear the rebound back to
the blue line, and now they'll skate it out of
(01:10:51):
the zone with McKay. McKay down the left side looking
taking a shot off the side of the net. It
tickled the twine, but on the outside of the goal.
Back to the right point, a long shot whistled wide
off the stick of Jade and Weston. All kinds of
pressure here from the Max with two six to go
second period, Bottomly jumping on that puck, but it's grabbed
(01:11:12):
now by Leah McKnight. McKnight tries to skate it up
through the middle of the ice and he was met
by the red line and the Max will take it away.
Hawko takes a bump there from Bottomly, but Bellevo gets
it to Haco. His shot was blocked as he was
set up nicely by Bellevo, but the Max covered up
well in front of their goaltender. Now love it spinning
(01:11:32):
away just inside the blue line and the Hunter's end
of the ice. Dworth goes down and the Hunter's Canary
affords to lose another defense. Here's Bellevo now trying to
break in and get a chance. The puck went beyond
the blade of his stick. Jumping on it quickly there
was Nate Woodrow try to get a shot from the
high slot, but the Max break it up. Then the
(01:11:54):
puck back to the red line, and then the Hunters
send it right back in teen left to play. Second period,
Max trying to get out of their own zone. Mitchell
putting heavy pressure there on Guinnis, who just squeezes mitchell
stick under his armpit and forces Mitchell to let go.
Mitchell has a stick back, though cheeky little play there
by Jack's Guinnish now Odell. Inside the final minute, Odell
(01:12:19):
rushing down the left side in behind the Hunter's goal.
Odell all the way to the other side. Now from
the slot, Odell goes for a three to sixty skate.
Max player have her stock down in front. He's back
up forty two seconds to go. Max with some pressure here.
Odell on that puck again, tries to feed it back
to the point. Guinnish gets it over to Kreelman on
(01:12:39):
this left side. Kreelman, through a crowd. Puck is loose,
several players trying to get it and the Hunters try
to clear it out, but Kreelman gets to it, keeps
it in, Kalita off the boards, and finally Hunter's able
to get it out. Max cleared the zone quickly. Odell
weaving through a couple of Hunters players now passes it
off to Ginn Guinnish try to slide across ice to
(01:13:02):
the on rushing Shearer. Shear had the stick knocked out
of his hands, tries to play with his skate. There's
a long shot from the boards on the right side
and the save made by Pulk just a couple of
seconds to go now as the puck just at the
blue line and then stepping into his man was Nate
Boodrow as he kind of laid a shoulder into Carter Sullivan.
(01:13:23):
Sullivan didn't like that too much, but looks like nothing
else will come of that, as the officials get in
quickly to separate the teams. So the second period comes
to a close. Thirty three nineteen shots on goal through
two periods favoring the Max, and they scored the only
goals of that second period. It was one one after one.
(01:13:46):
It's for one after two, MAX with the lead on
the road over the Hunters, we'll step aside, take a break.
Max lead it for to one over the Hunters. We'll
be back.

Speaker 3 (01:14:44):
Welcome back to Cole Harbor Place. Two periods in the books.
A very good second period for the Halifax Max. They
scored three unanswered and they lead for to one over
the Home Side March and Milco Hunters. Very please be
joined by defenseman with the Halifax Max, Gavin Sides. Gavin
not in the lineup. Tonight. How difficult is it being
up here watching and set them on the ice?
Speaker 7 (01:15:06):
You know, it's it's tough. There's there's moments where you
want to be out there and you want to contribute,
but there's nothing you can really do about it, and
you just got to keep moving forward and hope they
pull it off.
Speaker 3 (01:15:18):
I'll get you to put your coach's head on here
for a second. What have you liked from what you've
seen from your team in the first COPERIODCE?
Speaker 7 (01:15:25):
I like our work ethic right now. That's something we've
been building on. Our habits. Our habits are getting better.
We're just slowly trying to progress throughout the year and
just got one percent better every game, every time we
touch the ice. So I think this is a good
start here. We're putting goals up, we're making plays and
stuff we look stuff we look for for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:15:45):
So I'll talk to you about your game in a second.
But I would be remiss if I didn't paint a
picture for the radio listeners here Gavin is looking mighty sharp. Now,
my dear to part of grandmother, she would have said, Gavin,
you look like a stick of which means that you're
well put together neat and tidy. Did you pick this
out yourself or did you have a little help with
(01:16:05):
the With the dress today.
Speaker 7 (01:16:07):
I was I was home alone on the weekend, so
I did figure this one out myself. It took me
a couple of minutes, but it's usually like a bunch
of mix and match. You know, you're trying to maneuver
through the wardrobe. I got this one pretty pretty good though.
Speaker 3 (01:16:20):
You got the nice looking coat, you got the shirt
and tie looking good. Your game has also looked good
through the season. Ye for you? So far in this
twenty five twenty six season, what have you liked most
about your game?
Speaker 7 (01:16:33):
I like how how calm I'm playing. I feel like,
you know, once you step into the UA team league,
it's harder to adjust to the time and the speed
of everything. I think this year I've been settling in
really well, and I've just been just playing with confidence,
not getting too high, not getting too low, and just
steady in the middle. And I think that's where it's
(01:16:54):
supposed to be.
Speaker 3 (01:16:55):
Premier defensive position. A good year offensively as well. So
far two goals thirteen is in fifteen points. How good
does it make you feel when you're able to set
up one of your teammates for a goal and racking
up those assists.
Speaker 7 (01:17:07):
For me, it's for me, it's a whole other feeling.
I don't get to do it very often, so it's
a lot of fun when you get to play on
the offensive side. But you know, the d zones my
main strong suit and that's what I that's what I
shareish the most kind of best part of my game.
Speaker 3 (01:17:23):
Now with a couple of defensemen out of the max
line up yourself included a couple of affiliate players from
the Cairo care Kings, Jaden Weston and Jake Amro seeing
action here today and from my account, I think they've
fit in and played really well. What have you seen
from those two affiliates on the d end.
Speaker 7 (01:17:39):
Yeah, those two are great. They've they've practiced with us
pretty much all year and there's nothing nothing bad to
say about them. They're they're you eighteen level players. They're
just it's just tough in this city, you know. I
think I think they're both playing great. They're both calm,
they don't look too high, not too low. They're just
steady and it's cool to watch. They fit in really well.
Speaker 3 (01:18:00):
So should go back to last night as well, a
big test for the Max on the road, playing down
in Picto County against the Weeks you eighteen Majors. You
were down two nothing, you guys battled back one it
early in overtime. Maybe just your thoughts on that game
last night and the challenge that the week's brought.
Speaker 7 (01:18:19):
You know, it was definitely our toughest game of the
year so far, But we knew going into it that
that we we're the better hockey team.
Speaker 5 (01:18:27):
I think.
Speaker 7 (01:18:28):
I don't think there's anybody that can stay with us
if we play our game. So you know, it's hard
to find that game. But once we do, we take
over the game and then we show we show the
league what we can do and what we are around here.
Speaker 3 (01:18:40):
So we'll wrap up with the year in a second.
But one of the things I've watched with this team
all season long, through the early part of the season
is just how relentless the Max are shift after shift
speed for check pressure, quick passes. What is it like
in practice, because you obviously got to be able to
practice it before you can do in the game. Maybe
(01:19:00):
just quickly walk me through a typical Max practice.
Speaker 7 (01:19:04):
Uh, you know, we're we're we're we're working on the habits.
But uh, at the start of the year, you know,
it's it's slow. Everybody's getting learning how to play with
each other. But once we start get to going, uh,
it's like we're practicing like pros out there. We're always
moving our feet. We don't stop.
Speaker 3 (01:19:23):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (01:19:24):
You know, Tim's got us on the best, the best
drills we can possibly do. So, you know, a little
bit of skating at the end too, for conditioning for sure,
But uh, it's it's looking good right now. Everybody's locked in.
We're all there to learn and get better. So it's uh,
it's a big part of what we're doing.
Speaker 3 (01:19:41):
Yeah, the Max are certainly one of the most well
known and respected organizations, not only in Atlantic Canada, but
right across the country. What does it mean to you
the first time you pulled on that Max sweater.
Speaker 7 (01:19:52):
Yeah, it's it's honestly, it's it's unreal. There's no I
don't think you can go to any other pro uh
in Canada and feel the same type of energy you
do when you play for us. It's just every time
you put on that jersey, you want to do well
and you want to you want to not only get
better yourself, but help other people get better. And that's
(01:20:14):
that's the main reason we do it, and and it's
it's nothing, nothing better than that.
Speaker 3 (01:20:18):
So I had a couple of quick ones for you.
What's your game day meal, gam eday meal?
Speaker 7 (01:20:23):
Chicken, rice or pasta, any type of chicken, any type
of pasta or rice or carver or anything.
Speaker 3 (01:20:30):
What about if you're gonna have a little cheat day
and you're gonna get something that maybe isn't so good
for you, what are you grabbing chocolate, chits, candies?
Speaker 7 (01:20:35):
Yeah, definitely, definitely chocolate, chocolate of any type.
Speaker 3 (01:20:39):
Yeah, I'm all in for it. All right, before we
let you go, give a shout out to anybody you want,
a family, mom, love you nicely, Dan, well well dressed.
Gavin SAIDs thanks for doing this, and we wish your
team success in the there, but certainly to you the
rest of the season. Look forward to having you back
on the ice.
Speaker 7 (01:20:55):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 3 (01:20:57):
That is, Gavin said's defensive with the Max not in
the lineup to but we certainly appreciate him taking a
couple of minutes and joining us on the broadcast. Here
his teammates coming back on the ice. Third period, puck
drop right around the corner. We'll step aside take a
quick break. Third period coming up, Max, lead the Hunters
for to one Echo Harbor Place. Ready to jam with
the future of hockey.
Speaker 1 (01:21:17):

Speaker 3 (01:21:38):
Welcome back to Cole Harbor Place. Big thank you to
Gavin Sudds, defenseman with the Halifax Max, for coming up
and joining us in the second and a mission. Always
great to chat with the players from the league. So
just about ready for puck drop here in period number three,
teams have switched ends. The road team Halifax Max wearing
(01:21:58):
they're red with McDonalds gold and white trim. They'll be
skating now my left to right. And for the home side,
March and Milkow Hunters they're wearing their familiar white with
the black trim. They're now skating my right to left.
So the Max three unanswered in the second period, they
(01:22:19):
lead it for to one and we are underway here
five on five hockey. But just a reminder that late
in that period, as the Max come right in with
a chance and the puck was fed in front waiting
for it, there was Will Shearer and then Remy Bellivo,
who was defending in front, went down from him. But
(01:22:40):
he's back up and looks to be okay. But again
just to reminder, late in that second period, Schaeffer Gibbs
laid a big hit in the corner on Sam Fleming.
Fleming was down from him, didn't get up and was
under his own power when he left the ice. We
were happy to see that, but Gibbs given a game
misconduct for the hit. So another defenseman down for the
(01:23:05):
March and Milco Hunters. So again just a little bit
of shuffling for the Hunters. They already had Porter Khalida,
usually a forward back playing defense. There's a shot from
Treement from the right point right in front. Shierer got
a chance from about three feet in front of the goal,
and Pulp just got enough Hunters clear the puck to
take a little pressure off here. And that's going to
(01:23:26):
be a nice thing with just thirty nine seconds off
the clock in period number three. So the Hunters came
into this game with five defensemen, four regular and then
of course has mentioned Porter Khalida up playing or assume
back playing d from his normal forward position. But now
(01:23:47):
with Gibbs out, it's leam Worth, Noah Hawco, Porter Khalida
and Peyton Budrou defenceman for the remainder of this game.
The next player up mentality in effect here as Hawko
comes racing down the ice on the left side, one
of those defensemen for the Hunters, trying to make something
(01:24:09):
happen offensively, but the Max will bring it out the
other way. In transition cross ice pass, Fleming going over
to z A Chuku takes a shot as he dashed
in from the left wing side, got a quick shot
away and Hawko made the save and the puck deflected
up and not a play. Love it. Sullivan, Fleming and
(01:24:30):
Welsh your goal scorers for the Halifax, Max Schaefer Gibbs
who's now out of the game because of that game
as conduct, he's thelown goal scorer for the March and
Milko Hunters. From the face off, Hunters will control in
their own zone they'll work it up into the center
ice area. Max will chip it back, but it's intercepted
by Peyton Budrow. He catches it, carries into the zone,
(01:24:52):
Boodrow trying to dance around through some Max defenders. Then
the Hunters will get on that puck again, Morris trying
to get control of it in the maxone. Morris trying
to get to that puck in the corner. A couple
of other players as well, Kreelman and Fleming are there
digging at it for the Max, and the puck pops
free and then the Max will pick it up with
Welsh he couldn't get any further than his own blue line.
(01:25:16):
Good aggressive fore check there from the Hunter's clue it
lost his stick, picks it right back up, puck to
the red line. Uzachuku picks it up and turns into
his zone with Welsh try to get it back. Good
stick there defensively from Kalida on Uzachuku. Now Morris down
into the Max zone for the Hunters. Max grab it.
(01:25:39):
Guinnish skating right up through neutral ice, passes it over
quick shut. They score River Welsh from the right circle
down low as he skated in the right side got
close to the goal line, looked like he might be
too much of a difficult angle, but he snaps it
(01:26:02):
on goal and find space between the left shoulder of
Pulk and the near side post. And he again not
much of an opening there. But these Halifax Max shooters,
they have this ability to find a little bit of
open daylight when you least expect it, and that's just
what happened there. River Welsh has made it five to one,
(01:26:26):
his second of the game, eleventh of the season. So
Welsh had the goal to make it three to one,
now has his second to make it five to one.
So eleven on the season for River Welsh, and the
beat goes on for the Halifax Max. There's love it
(01:26:49):
charging into the zone. Love it watches that puck go
down low bottomly, We'll pick it up down there bottomly
along the goal line. Tried to backhand it up over
the shoulder. Again. It's almost like Max have got some
kind of internal challenge going on to see how tight
they can get to the goalie and how quickly they
can lift it up over the goaltender's body. And I
(01:27:10):
only say that because the Max have scored a couple
of goals that way and Bottomly was looking to perhaps
make that happen again, so the face off will come
down into the MAX zone to the left of their goaltender,
Kale Campbell. Shots on goal thirty seven to nineteen favoring
(01:27:33):
the Max and off of face off max control. Oh,
just a little over three minutes played in this second period.
Good play by Kalita taking that puck away from Bottomly,
puck over on the board's far side and the Hunters
will get it to the red line and flip it
down into the max zone. Now tree win cross iis
(01:27:56):
to Bottomly, Bottomly taking the looks he's an opening, flips
it forward and that puck hit Cameron Rcart for the Hunters,
and then the Hunters flip it up and it goes
into the netting. So we'll have a stoppage and a
face off with sixteen thirty to go in period and
number three face off to the left of Noah Pulp
(01:28:27):
in the Hunter's goal, and it's five to one Max.
But thirty seven shots from Halifax, many of them of
a high quality variety, so it certainly could be a
bigger lead for the Max if not for some of
the goaltending heroics of Noah Pulk, who again squeezes a
(01:28:48):
point shot and hangs on for a face off face
off to the left of Pulk. Scramble draw Haverstock reaches
in gets it over there, Strong charging right in on
top of the goal and I think the puck goes in,
but the referee had lost sight, blown the whistle and
immediately waves it off. So good positioning there by the
(01:29:11):
referee not hesitating to wave off any thoughts that the
Max may have had that they scored a goal. Face
off will be once again in the Hunter's end to
the left of their goaltender Odell and on the draw
up against Mitchell and it's control by the Hunters puck
into the corner over on that far side. Mitchell will
(01:29:34):
pick it up and skate it up to the blue line,
banks it off the wall, connecting with Remy Bellivo. Bellavoue
dropped pass for Mitchell. Mitchell tried to get her out
of the defender, but it's intercepted by the Max and
now tree Win will send Strong right back the other way.
Cooper Strong little toad drag tried to put it through
the skates of the hawco but it hit the ankle
of Hawco and off to the side. Max on it again,
(01:29:55):
though Odell to tree Win, quick shot handled, no problem,
stick safe from the goaltender pulk. Tree Win has it again,
walks along the blue line, steps in from about twenty
three feet from the hash marks let it go and
sent it just wide to the hunter's goal. Puck comes
around the boards. Tree when comes in to meet it.
Stepping into tree Win was Nate Budrow, and Boodrow missed
(01:30:18):
just enough on that hit that tree Win escaped any
major impact. Now Bellevo into the zone for the Hunters,
dropped past, picked off there by the Max. They'll skate
it out with Haverstock. Haverstock gains the zone turns away
soon that's live or twenty not ten and the puck
sent right into the high slot areas Sullivan overskated it
(01:30:39):
and the Max will send the puck down the ice
and that'll be a nicing against the March and Milco.
Hunters down to fifteen oh one left to play. Shots
on goal now forty for the Max and nineteen for
the Hunters. Off the face off over into the corner
(01:31:07):
it goes. Hunters have it down low behind their own goal.
Peyton Budrou trying to push his man into the boards.
Puck down behind the Hunter's goal and the Hunters will
pick it up. They tried to, though losing an edge.
There was Morris as he tried to grab the puck
and that caused the puck to get turned over. Long
(01:31:28):
shot day score from the left point. Riley Kreelman just
strode into that puck. He saw it come out to
him and was able to take two or three strong strides,
hammers the puck low and in behind the goaltender pulk
and goal number six has gone in. And now it
(01:31:52):
looks like after the play, maybe some frustration. I was
looking down at my sheet writing down the goalscorer and
I heard the Doris slam and I looked up and
there's a march and Milkow Hunter's player over in the
penalty box. So Riley Kreeleman with his second goal of
(01:32:13):
the season, and it's six one. Max here Shearer and
live with the assistant now Fleming. Two on one. Fleming
tried to go high short side again. Huzachuku was the
(01:32:37):
decoy and Fleming got a good shot away in tight
and paulk had to make a good saving while I
was talking about that last sequence. All I heard was misconduct.
So it's a misconduct penalty. There's another chance right in
(01:32:58):
front Fleming there on the yours Stepho's a Chuco banging
away at it. Where's the puck? Nobody knows, Neither did
the referee who blew the whistle as he lost sight
of it. So again Max with pressure in front. Welsh
was there, it's a chuku was there and Pulk just
doing all he can to cover up the low part
of the goal. Referee lost sight and we've got a
(01:33:20):
face off. So the misconduct penalty to the Hunters doesn't
give the Max a power play, So no change to
the number of skaters on the ice. It stays at
five on five. Now off the face offf Guinnish fit
it right in front. Whosa Chico was standing in the
blue ice, but the puck went underneath him and out
to the other side. He's a chuku again trying to
(01:33:41):
get to that puck. Good defensive play by Khalida, the
usual forward who's been playing defense porta Khalita. He's actually
played pretty strong on the back end for the March
and Milkow Hunters today. So here come the Max Fleming
turning at the red line into the zone and just
offside in the middle was cheek a Uzachuku. So the
(01:34:05):
off side will bring the face off outside the hunter's zone,
both teams changing up their personnel. Then we'll have a
face off with thirteen thirty two to go. Face off
on the far side as mentioned just outside the hunter's
zone clew It and on the draw up against love It,
(01:34:26):
and love It wins the face off for the Max
Amoro flips it down, it'll bounce into the goaltender pulp.
He'll just calmly settle it there for Liam Worth who
goes cross ice to the near side and now clew It.
As the puck bounces it off the wall, springs Cameron
her card and sends it back in front to clew It,
(01:34:46):
who raced right toward the front of the goal. The
puck came to him, but he got tied up in front.
Hunters on it again. Now Loody from the left point
steps back, puts a shot in, hit a body in
front and deflecs off into the corner. Some good pressure
there by the hunt, but now in transition Max quickly
bottomly takes the feed from love It his quick shot
went off the blocker and stick love the goaltender. Pulk
(01:35:08):
good quick shot from Bottomly and Anne say from Pulk
on it again, love it. Turning high. Slot takes the
shot that hit the leg of Martin and the Hunters
couldn't get that lead past to work. McKay jumps on it.
Try to snap a shot in on goal that hit
Loudy and went up into the glass. Loody will gather out,
(01:35:29):
sends it up to the red line and the Max
will send it right back in. Bottomly steps around Cluet,
who was heading to the bench for a change. Love it, spinning,
hands it off to Amro. Amro dishes down low. Max
from that far side, sharp angle shot off the goalie
and the post and in behind the net. It was
bottom let bat shot go from that sharp angle on
(01:35:51):
the far side. Puck trickles out to the red line.
Bottomly trying to spin around from the hunter's fore check
scrammble there as several players fell right below our broadcast
position in neutral ice. Creelman trying to control the puck
in his own zone. Maverick Mitchell was there trying to
get it for the Hunters, and now Odell gives way
(01:36:13):
to Kreelman. Creelman peels off to the left side, lost
the puck. Good defensive zone coverage there by the Hunters
and they'll bring it out op ahead is Nate Woodrow
tried to feed it across to the on rushing Bellivo,
but it was intercepted by Odell. Hawko comes in. Tried
to keep it inside the line, but it pops over
his stick and the Max will send it forward. Cooper
(01:36:35):
Strong rolls it down into the Hunter's zone. Max making
changes here. Someone lost the stick and it's lying just
to the left of the Hunter's goal, so that might
cause a little problem. There's a chance they score. Paulk
was watching Guinnish, thought he was going to go around
the goal, but Guinnish reverse direction fed it back the
(01:36:57):
other way, got it over onto the stick of Cooper
were strong.
Speaker 2 (01:37:02):
And Strong.
Speaker 3 (01:37:05):
Gets the goal and the Max now have increased their
lead to six. And you gotta feel for Noah Pulk
after that goal went in and again nice play by Guinness.
Looked like he was going to kind of stride all
the way around the goal, stopped about half way behind
the net, reverse direction back to the near side, and
(01:37:28):
it was a kind of a tap in, if you will,
and after the puck went in passed the goaltender Pulk,
he just kind of laid flat out, face down and
just kind of tapped his mask on the ice. He
could feel the frustration from Pulk, but listen, nothing for
him to feel bad. But I know this isn't going
(01:37:49):
the way that he wants, and he doesn't like the
fact that his team is trailing right now by a
score of seven to one. But the Max are an
incredibly good, deep and talented team. They've directed forty five
shots at Pulk in the Hunter's goal. Again, I've said
it before, I'll say it again as the Max come
in another chance, barreling in toward the goal with Shearer.
(01:38:10):
But if not for some of the goaltending heroics of Pulk,
it would certainly be a bigger lead you with a
big pad save Liver set up point blank and shooting
out the right leg was Pulk. Another ten bells save
for the Hunter's goalie Strong and so Cooper Strong seventeen
(01:38:36):
gets credited with the goal. And for Cooper Strong, that's
goal number four on the year for him. So the
Max off the face off, control the puck in the
Hunter zone. We are at even strength hockey here five
(01:38:59):
on five, Sullivan passes off to the left side, quick
shot from tree wind and paulp gets a piece. Max
staying on that puck as we approach the midway point
of period number three, back at the right point controlling
it was Weston now live or dishes down low first Sullivan.
Sullivan goes behind the net, gets it right back. Sullivan
from the right side working with that puck. Nine to
(01:39:23):
fifty to go in this third period, So the next
stoppage we'll go into the media timeout. Puck fed up
trying to get to Weston, but it was blocked down.
Max will send it diagonally into an air corner. Good
pressure again from the Max. Hunters will grab it and
skate it out. Pass over there from Cameron her cart
(01:39:44):
over to Andrew Workhaut as the two ur karts try
to combine to get something going offensively. Jumping on that
puck quickly there was Andrew Workhart and he walks out,
gets a quick shot from the right circle and Campbell
makes the save. So we've got a stoppage and it
should be the media timeout. If I'm not mistaken, it
(01:40:09):
is indeed so shots on goal forty six nineteen favor
in the Max. They lead at seven to one. Reret
the media timeout in the third period. We'll step aside.
You're listening to the firm foundation, media or radio network
back in a moment.
Speaker 4 (01:40:22):

(01:40:44):
more at Feednova Scotia dot CA.
Speaker 3 (01:40:48):
Face off. Coming out of the media timeout in the
Max zone, Bellevo tries to push it forward for the Hunters.
Let the Maxwell lift it down the ice. Here's who's
a Chuko now pulling his way through two Hunters defenders,
got a backhand shot away and lifted it high over
the goal. Seven to one Max lead with nine a
(01:41:08):
week to go in the third period. Six different goal
scorers for the Halifax Max River. Welsh has two long
goal scorer for the Hunter Schaeffer Gibbs, who got a
game misconduct in the second period, who again short bench
defensively for the hunters. Who's a Chuku chips it down,
(01:41:33):
Paulk out of his net, stops it there. Puck bouncing around,
who's a Chuku? Has it in tight? Take a shot
and he just tried to go short side, and again
Pulk with a save. And I think it's worth mentioning
again just how good Noah Pulk has been in this game.
Max have directed forty seven shots his way, and a
lot of them have just simply been quality scoring chances.
(01:41:56):
Pulk's been very good. Don't let the seven to one
score way you. Paulk has been excellent. Campbell's been good
when called upon, but certainly hasn't faced near the shots
and attempts that Paulk has. Now Martin Campbell could be
called upon. Here Martin from the left side whistled a
shot trying to go to the fireside glove hand of
(01:42:18):
Campbell and hammered it wider than net. Linked to having
problems with the scoreclock here it was frozen on E
ten and it's it's not counting down a second at
a time. It's kind of shimmering and kind of jittering
through the time. So it's like going from like seven
(01:42:38):
fifty six, then seven fifty two, and so on again
Ginnish in behind the goal walking and again the Max
trying to do that in tight lifted high over the
goaltender move. They've been successful a couple of times. There's
a chance right in front has bottomly sent it across
to awaiting Sam Fleming, who again was right in the crease,
(01:42:59):
and to reflected it in toward Polk who was right there.
Good movement by Pulk going from the post to center
up with the shooter and making the save. Some outstanding
performance from Noah Pulk. I think any goaltender coming into
a game facing the Max know that they're gonna face
(01:43:22):
a lot of shots. Will it be thirty, will it
be forty, will it be fifty? They don't know, but
they they typically know. Goaltenders on opposing teams to the
Max typically know, Hey, I'm gonna face a lot of pucks.
And most goalies like it that way. And Pulk certainly
has been busy tonight and he's been good. Here's Holco. Now,
Hawco down the left side takes a quick shot as
(01:43:43):
he busted down the left wing side. Why not put
the puck on goals? See what can happen. But Campbell
again coming out square to the shooter. No problem with
the save of that Hawko shot. Seven to twenty seven
left to go. Third period, It was one to one
(01:44:04):
after one and then the Max, from an offensive standpoint,
took over from there. Three in the third, excuse me
three in the second. Three more here in the third
Hunters trying to get it out of their own zone.
They work it up to the blue line, not out
(01:44:25):
bottomly on that Puck tried to make a move there
to spin around away from Halco, but a good defensive
play from Noah Hawco and now body's flying as Bottomly
got taken down. Then Khalita went down bottomly from the Max.
Kalita from the Hunters, good physical play carries on Bottomly
crosses over the blue line, but his mates were just
(01:44:47):
ahead of the play. So the Max whistled down for
the off side, and we'll have a face off just
outside the Hunter's zone. Six forty nine to play in
the third period. Face off on this near side, just
below our broadcast position here high above the red line
(01:45:08):
at Cole Harbor Place. Here's fleming. Excuse me, that was
Cooper Strong walking in and again from about seventeen feet strong,
nothing between him and the goaltender but open ice, and
he leaned into a quick shot and again pulk square
to the shooter, takes it into the logo and makes
the save. Now off the face off puck goes in
(01:45:31):
behind the Hunter's goal up on the far side. Back
hand they get off the wall was Andrew Werkhart and
now clue it has Morris with him. Clue it took
a shot that hit a skate of the defender weston
and then pinballed out toward the blue line. Morris jumping
on that puck for the hunters. Here's Morris Cluet trailing
to play Morris one hand on the stick. Klue It
(01:45:52):
comes in, feeds it in front, spinning around with Zerkrt
trying to get to that puck and Campbell down and
covering up with the Hunters putting some pressure on here
with a couple of good chances. And in the middle
of it Justin Kluet, who, by my observation from a
skaters standpoint, has probably had the strongest game for the
(01:46:17):
March and Milkow Hunter's number seventeen. Justin Klewitt, He's been
all around the puck and has been in the middle
of a lot of offensive chances for this Hunter's team.
He's either been getting the chances himself or facilitating opportunities
for his teammates. Off the face off in the mazone,
Halifax will control and they'll send it down there. And
(01:46:41):
after all that play took place, a boarding penalty to
Jake Amro, the affiliate player up from the Cairo ker kings.
So Amro in the buck short headed chance as it
came to the high slot and Haverstock just laser beamed
it wide. So a power play here for the March
and milkcore Jay Camer in the box. Hunters to the
(01:47:04):
power play five point forty to go in the third,
here's Cluett left wing walks it takes a shot I
think that hit a piece of the goaltender and then
nicked the post and went behind the net. Won's sixteen
to go in the power play for the Hunters five
to twenty eight. In the period, Hunters on the power play,
Loudy try to work it back to clud who's at
(01:47:24):
the left point. Now Baldwin walks in and scoreres Baldwin
comes off the boards on the left side took the
puck off the half while walked in towards Campbell saw
an opening and snapped it home. A power play goal
for Baldwin and the Hunters got another on the board.
(01:47:46):
Now they trail at seven to two. But good effort
again the Hunters. It's one thing about this team all
year long, no quit in this march and Milco Hunter's side.
JP McCallum and his coaching staff have done a wonderful
job of getting this team to a place where they're
improving every game and they don't quit. So Baldwin gets
(01:48:10):
his third of the year and the Hunters have their second.
Now there's a chance right down low, pulk down and
the Max Sullivan tried to lift it over paulk who
was down after making a couple of saves, and it's
the Hunters who will clear it out. There's share out
(01:48:37):
trying to walk in with that puck. We are at
even strength hockey here, five on five power play goal
from the Hunters. Amorro in the box and Baldwin with
the power play marker pucked down low in behind the
(01:48:57):
Max Gold down to for seventeen to play. In the third,
Max clear the puck up live right in front of
the Max. Excuse me, Hunters bench feeds and over share
in front all alone, share four head back in Polk
with the save Polk again ringing the bell. Shot number
fifty one from the Max and Polk another glorious opportunity
(01:49:22):
and an equally glorious stop. Noah Pulk, take a bow,
young man. I know the score isn't where you and
your teammates want it to be, but my goodness, you
cannot ignore how good Noah Pulk has been between the
pipes for the March and Milkow Hunters today forty four
saves on fifty one shots. And I said it before,
(01:49:45):
I'll say it again. Many of the fifty one of
a high quality variety face off in the maxone won
by the Hunters as a toss and Hawko with a shot.
It went off a Cluet as Cluet jumped to flat
and I don't know if Campbell saw it, but he
was in the way and he stopped it and the
rebound was cleared off to the side and now back
(01:50:08):
the other way come the Max trying to slide it across.
There was Sullivan as he looked to connect with Liver,
but the Hunter's looty all the way back down to
his own loot. He tried to feed it in front
of the on rushing Martin, but the Max able to
cover up and Campbell grabs it and we'll have a
face off down to three twenty six to go here
(01:50:29):
in period and number three, I want to thank you
so much for tuning into the firm Foundation Media Radio
Network for our continuing coverage of the Nova Scotia eighteen
Major Hockey League. He can give us a follow on Mixler.
That's our broadcast channel and is what you're listening to

you can give the FFM Audio Network a follow on Facebook.
That's where all of our content and links are posted. Now,
fleming into the Hunter's zone, dishes off River Welsh shot
there from just deep in that right face off circle,
and again Pulk over eye to eye with the shooter.
(01:51:15):
Good positional goal tending from Noah Pulk, and with exactly
three minutes to go, Pulk makes another save and the
face off will be to the left of the Hunter's
goalie Fleming in on the draw up against Baldwin. Scramble
draw there it's a Chuku. Came in to try to
free up that buckets it right back big feed there
(01:51:37):
as Fleming excuse me, Welsh slid it across to us
a Chuku who banged it on goal and Pulk again
with another big save on a point blank chance. Now
Here comes Andrew Workout, gaining the zone at his pocket,
picked by River Welsh. Welsh now into the zone, Fleming
on his left was a Chuko on his right, dishes
(01:51:58):
off to Fleming on the left. It was a Chuku,
the big body forward getting in on that puck. Try
to feed it back to the point, but it goes
by everybody and that goes right in on goal. Campbell
stops it there, rolls it over to Jack's Ginnish to
eighteen to go in the third Tree win. They'll just
flip it up and it'll roll down into the Hunter
(01:52:18):
zone and that'll be icing against the Max. So as
Kalita goes back to touch it, we'll have a face
off coming all the way down into the Halifax Max zone. Well,
seven to two, Max lead it by five, they're out
shooting the Marchi Milkow Hunters fifty three twenty five. And
unless something incredibly amazing happens, it does appear that the
(01:52:41):
Halifax Max are going to run their record to an
unblemished fourteen to Oh. They got a big ot win
last night against the Weeks in Picto County to keep
it unblemished at thirteen and oh and if things hold
up the way they are for the next couple of minutes,
it'll be forty. Here's Bellevo now, nice solo effort. Bellevo
(01:53:03):
tried to get a shot through it. I think that
hit Tree when it was Bellevo against three Max defenders,
and Bellovo ended up getting a good shot on goal.
Puck up toward the red line. Kalida will stop it there,
couldn't get it past Bottomly now Bottomly rushing in right
side Bottomly too drag tried to put it through the
legs love the defense from Peyton Budrou, but Budrow stood
tall and the puck hit Bodrow and went off into
(01:53:25):
the corner. Under a minute and a half to play
in the third Bottomly quick shot he scores. Bottomly saw
that puck from the hash marks on that right side,
leaned into it, nice low shot along the ice and
he goes fur side and it gets past Pulk and
(01:53:48):
Noah Hawko coming over to talk to his goaltender, saying, hey, man,
don't let it eat you up too much. You've been incredible.
When you're facing fifty plus shots and you've made well
countless ten bells saves. You don't want to give up
(01:54:08):
any But sometimes giving up eight isn't as bad as
you think. Now the hunter's back the other way with
Kluett trying to make a nifty little move. File minute
of play here in period three, Haverstock into the zone,
quick shot, Haverstock let it rip from about twenty seven
feet and Pulk top of the blue ice makes the
(01:54:30):
good save. That last goal was scored by MJ. Bottomley
for Bottomly. That's goal number eleven on the air and
again his team leading a twentieth point, so Bottomly adding
to his totals now eleven goals and twenty points on
the air time taking away not much time to go here.
(01:54:55):
In period three, max On that pucks it up high
long shot, trying to get it through a crowd. Was
Weston the affiliate trying to get a goal here in
this game, just a couple of seconds to go. The
game clock now is stop functioning completely, so I guess
there's somebody with a stopwatch somewhere. Keep Oh, if we're
(01:55:18):
back up now, that's showing forty three seconds. I don't
think that's right. It should only be a couple of
seconds left. But some bonus hockey here, I guess, based
on a malfunctioning clock. Up with it now, Nate Budreau.
Boudreau has it back, try to get it to Martin.
Under half a minute to go? Okay, as I say,
(01:55:39):
under half a minute to go, that's what the clock said.
But again it's been malfunctioning here in the third and
as I say, under half a minute to goo, the
buzzer sounds. So I'm sure the fine folks at Cole
Harbor Place will get that sorted out. But I can
tell you the buzzer has sounded, the game has indeed ended,
and the Halifax Max do run their record to a
(01:55:59):
per perfect fourteen and oh now twenty eight points, leading
the Nova Scotia U eighteen Major Hockey League. Six different
goal scorers for the Halifaxx excuse me, seven at different
goal scorers for the Halifax Max River Welsh with a pair,
but Noah Pulk, facing fifty plus shots, was outstanding in goal.
(01:56:21):
So the Halifax Max continue their winning ways. They get
a win on the road, they stay undefeated. But for
the March and Millcoe hunters, I'm sure they'll be disappointed
with the result. But again you got to give a
tip of the cap to the goaltender Noah Pulk, he
was outstanding. Well that will do it here. We'll wrap
it up on to thank you so much for tuning
(01:56:42):
in to this game. We'll look forward to seeing you
again next time on the Firm Foundation Media Radio Network.
Until then, I wish you well the rest of the
day and have a wonderful Remembrance Day lest we forget
so long From Cole Harbor Place.
