Speaker 1 (00:03):
The following Nova Scotia U eighteen Major Hockey League game
is proudly presented by Firm Foundation Media. Let's head inside
the rink.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Good evening and welcome to tonight's Nova Scotia U eighteen
Major Hockey League game between the home side March and
Milcow Hunters and the visitors, the South Shore Mustangs. I'm
Scott Squire is glad to have you along on the
Firm Foundation Media Radio Network for tonight's broadcast.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
We are at Cole Harbor Place in Cole Harbor, Nova Scotia.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
The team's just taking to the ice now, a chance
for both of these teams to get a couple of
points and make a little move in the standings. For
the visitors Soushore Mustangs, no wins, eight loss is one
overtime loss, and for the March and Milkow Hunters, one
win and eight losses. So so far early in the
(00:55):
regular season, things haven't gone exactly how Coach JP McCollum
McCall for the Hunters and coach Keegan Watt for the Mustangs.
It hasn't gone exactly to plan. But it's about growth,
it's about learning, it's about getting better they're just announcing
(01:15):
the starting lineups for Marching milk Cot tonight. I can
tell you that starting in goal for the visitors, the
South Shore Mustangs, it'll be Ryder Patterson. Patterson zero to
four on the season with a seven point eighty four
goals against and an eight sixty save percentage, and another
number one for the Marching Milkow Hunters, Noah Pulk. Pulk
(01:37):
comes into tonight's game. He's played five games. He's one
and four with an eight thirty seven save percentage and
a five point eight two goals against average. The South
Shore Mustang's wearing their Derek blue with red and white
trim uniforms, looking a lot like the New York Rangers
from the NHL. And for the home side, March and
(01:59):
Milkow Hunts, they've got on their home whites with black trim.
It's clean, it's straightforward, and it's a sharp looking uniform.
Both uniform kits looking good tonight, South Shore Mustangs and
the March and Milco Hunter south Shore. We'll be skating
(02:19):
from my left to right to begin the game and
the Hunters my right to left. We're just about set.
Both teams getting ready. The officials over at the time
keeping bench, making sure everything is in order. Twenty minutes
on the clock and we are just about set for
puck drop. It's the Mustangs, It's the Hunters. It's Saturday
(02:40):
night from Cole Harbor Place, Firm Foundation Media Radio Network
bringing you this game in the Nova SCOTIAU eighteen Major
Hockey League. Both teams have several players out of the lineup,
either due to injury or not being available because they're
up in New Brunswick playing in the Atlantic Challenge Cup.
(03:03):
So some new faces, so to speak, in the lineup
for both teams, not available tonight for the Hunters Jack
Baldwin Andrew Urkhart, Nola Hawko, Sebastian hum and Coleby O'Shaughnessy.
Not available for South Shore Xavier LeBlanc, Cole Rogers, Cameron Bailey,
Sam Hartlin and Henry Aon.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
Here we go.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
The teams are ready, the referee is ready. Hope you're ready.
It's the Hunters. It's the Mustangs, and we're underway from
Cole Harbor Place. Glad to have you along. Right off
the face off, the puck will go down into the
Mustang zone and the Hunters will chase it down there
taking a bump along the boards was Porta Kalita. He
moves the puck to the near side. Gibbs keeps it
(03:48):
in at the blue line for hunters, but the Mustangs
will chip it off the boards and out chasing it.
After it there was Kean Doyle, but not before it
goes to the length of the ice. So just twenty
two second in we've got a nice in call and
it goes against the Hunters, so the excuse me the Mustang,
So the face off will come down into the Mustang
(04:11):
zone to the right of their goaltender, Ryder Patterson justin
Kluet and on the face off, four Hunters trying to
get the number of the Mustangs player settling into the
circle and it's a clean win and it gets back
to that right point. Liam Worth back there for the Hunters,
just rifles in along the boards. It goes around the
boards behind the goal now to the near side. GiB
(04:32):
steps into it from the left point waiting for a deflection.
There was Will Loody in front, got a heel of
a stick on it, but it went behind the net.
Loudy on that puck again tried to bounce it out
towards Cluet who was hanging around in front of the goal.
But it's the Mustangs. He'll bring it out. There's a
long shot off the stick. Number twenty one Jacob Dellivo
Mustangs have it at center ice. McClain, he wears number
(04:56):
twelve for the Mustangs. That's Logan McLain. He's sent it
into the hunt zone. But the Hunters will gather the
puck and move it up now onto the puck quickly
working with it there. That was number twenty two Parker Leblac,
and the puck will go all the way down to
(05:18):
the Mustang's into the ice and now and icing against
the Hunters. So both teams will get some fresh skaters
out on the ice, will get ready for a face
off down in the Hunter's zone.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Just a minute and seventeen off the clock here in
period number one. Glad to have you along.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Tuned into the firm Foundation media or radio network. Make
sure you stick around in the intermissions, hoping to have
a chat with number twelve Noah Hawko from the Hunters
and the first intermission and then a member of the
Mustang's coaching staff will be up to join us. They
(05:54):
didn't give me a name, but they said they would
send someone up. So again, just stick around. In the intermissions,
I will have some INTERNI interviews for you. Fuck in
the Mustang Zona boards on the near side chucked up
into neutral ice. Good work there from you and McDonald.
But the Hunters will gather in their own zone. A
couple of quick passes and it's up to the red
line racing and after it there was Braden Martin and
(06:17):
now quick change for the March and Milcow Hunters as
the Mustangs take it off the boards kept in neatly
there by Caid Romain Cad, one of the affiliates in
the lineup, plays with the Sackville Kings. A couple of
affiliates in the lineup for the Hunters here with several
players for that side out of the lineup, so a
(06:40):
chance for those affiliates to get a good look here
up with the big club. Early on in this Nova
Scotia Eaight Major Hockey League season, puck is in the
corner over on the far side in the Mustangs end
of the ice and it'll come toward the blue line.
Keeping it in there was Peyton Boodrow. Good work from
Bodrow initially, but then the Mustang's able to clear it up,
but no further than Dawson Swift. Swift, big defenseman on
(07:04):
this Hunter squad where is number five leading the team
in scoring. He's a dangerous player whenever he's on the ice.
Back heads it toward the front of the goal, was
number five Dawson Swift. But the Mustangs will cover up
and they'll just zip it down into the Hunter zone quickly.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
And on that puck.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Good work there from Aiden Langel as he raced in,
got a shot away, another shot pats a bad goalie.
Polk is down and somehow got a toe on it
with the Mustangs buzzing. Couple of good chances from the Mustangs,
but Noah pulk makes a couple of big saves.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
And keeps it scoreless.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
Best chances for either side so far in this period
with just over three minutes gone.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Three minutes and one second.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
To be exact, so a couple of good chances for
the Mustangs, some big says from Noah pulk Off. Will
be in the Hunter's zone to the left of the
march in mil Coo goalkeeper Alex Lynch gets tied up
there with cluid on the face off circle, and it
(08:13):
was loose for a moment, but the Hunters will grab
it and they'll try to work it out. Matthew Thompson
another one of the affiliates out there. Three affiliates in
the lineup twenty five, twenty six and twenty seven the
jersey numbers, so keeping them in order numerically. There's Matthew Thompson.
Thompson another affiliate from the Sackville Kings. Sebastian Surrett also
an affiliate, wearing number twenty six. His affiliate team is
(08:36):
the Base in Armada. There's Langel. He sent it in
there for the South Shore Mustangs. It bounced off the
boards and right to the waiting arms of the goaltender
Paul Kill just hang on shots on goal too one
favoring the visitors, the South Shore Mustangs, and they've had
the best scoring chances so far, and those came just
(08:57):
a couple of minutes ago. Once again, face off in
the Hunter's zone. Scrambled draw in after the puck is
Romain again. He's wearing number twenty five for the Hunters.
One of those affiliate players now behind the goal was
Dawson Swift. Swift jumps on it quickly again he'll just
slide it across the ice onto the stick of his
(09:18):
teammate Braden Martin, and then Nate Boodrow got spun around
as he flipped it down into the Mustang zone. Mustangs
will backhanded along as Logan McLain was there. And then
a Mustang's player over along the boards got dumped and
it looks like it's going to be number five. Dawson
Swift heading over to the penalty box and holding going
(09:40):
to be the call. Believe it was Jack Chew, the
defenseman for the Mustangs that got taken down along the
boards there, so Dawson Swift to the penalty box. First
power play of the game goes to the South Shore Mustangs.
Always if you can get that first goal, especially on
(10:02):
the road. So now the Mustang's working with the power
play here. Just a little over four minutes into this
opening period, Mustang's working it around up high McDonald ew
and McDonald is. A puck goes down into the corner
cross ice to the right circle. That shot off the
stick of Kean Doyle was blocked down, but the Mustangs
stay on the puck working with it now. Jacob Bellivo
(10:26):
puck pops high into the air and it's grabbed there
and sent down the ice. Captain of the Hunter's Schaeffer
Gibbs with the good clearing play there. Now Mustang's in
transition flying over the red line is McDonald. McDonald goes
into two defenders. You and McDonald trying to do it
all himself. Now gets the puck into the Hunter's zone,
(10:47):
back to the right point, working with it there as
Carter Bain. Bain slides across ice. Now McDonald's just inside
the blue line, snapped it on goal, but it hit
a skate and went off to the corner. McDonald again,
You and McDonald, I'm the right point, slides to the
left circle.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Long shot.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
There not a bad idea to just rifle it on
goal from the left face off circle, just off the boards.
But Noah Pulk read the plague, got ready for that
shot and made a pretty easy save by goaltending save standards.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
It was Parker LeBlanc who let that shot go.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Fifty five seconds left to go in the penalty to
Dawson Swift. So that's how much power play time is
left for the Mustangs, fourteen to fifty six to go.
In this opening period shots on goal three to one
favoring the Visitors. That long outlet pass goes all the
way down the ice, Loan four checker in as Will Looty.
(11:45):
Loody forcing the issue, doing a good job of forcing
the Mustangs to move that puck around in their own end,
taking time off the penalty. Now Langel down the right side,
cuts from the right circle, swoops in behind the goal,
try to feed it out in front, waiting for it
there with Sean Perry who was pinching in. But it
gets sent around the boards. It'll come out and the
(12:06):
Mustangs will have to regroup. Just eighteen seconds to go
in the Mustang's power play, as the Hunters will send
it down into the Mustang zone out of his goal.
As rider Patterson, he'll leave it there for his teammate
and the Mustangs will work it up the left side
now to the red line. Just five seconds to go
in this power play, see if they can get that
puck into the zone. Callum McMullen was stop good defensive
(12:30):
work there from the Hunters. Penalty is over. Swift out
of the penalty box and Hunters have killed it off.
Peyton Boodroau chasing that puck into the corner in his
own zone and the Hunters will work it up the
left wing side trying to work forward with it.
Speaker 3 (12:46):
There was Morris Mason.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
Morris got rubbed out into the glass as he tried
to cross into the blue line and then play his
whistle down.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
While I have him in it here.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
I want to say a big shout out to my
great niece Grace. Grace had her tonsils out recently and
wasn't feeling so great for a couple of days. But
she's on the mend and feeling much better. So Grace,
keep having those popsicles and ice creams. Mom and Dad'll
probably let you have more. And your great uncle Scott
(13:18):
says hello, and I'm glad you're feeling better. Here's a
long shot from the left boards as the Mustang sent
it in, but again paulk At at the top of
his crease takes it into the hunter's crest on his
sweater and makes a save no problem. Thirteen twenty six
(13:38):
to go, opening period of play between the visitors, Sousure
Mustangs and the home side Merchant Milco Hunters. Glad to
have you loong tuned into firm foundation Media Radio Network
our game of the week.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
Mustangs tried to get it in front.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
Here's a chance point blank as it ended up bouncing
onto the stick of Philip or Shared for the Mustangs.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
He was right in front and his shot was blocked down.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
But a good chance there. As the puck came to
a Shirt in the high slot. Hunters now will try
to work it up and out of the zone. Hare's
swift crossing the red line. Now he'll skate in on
the left side, passes it back to clue it. He
gets a shot through a crowd, swift following up chip
the rebound toward the goal, but it's kept out. Good
work there by Patterson protecting the low part of the
(14:23):
goal for the Mustangs. Liam Worth nice pass up to
clue it at the red line. Now, Kalita, he tried
to get it in, lost the handle and the Mustangs
will grab it and skate back into their own zone
with Bain. Mustang's working it over here in their own
zone with twelve thirty one to go in this opening
period of play, no score. Shots on goal four to
(14:45):
two favoring the Mustangs, and that puck will go all
the way down the ice and taking a look. Was
another affiliate player in this game. This time though it's
a SouthShore Mustang's affiliate player, Patrick Gosling on defense, wearing
number twenty three, and he's up from the valley.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
You sixteen side.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
So a lot of affiliate players getting a chance to
play up with their big clubs here in this one,
getting some great experience. Here's a chance now off the
face off, flipping it over into the corner was Kean Doyle,
And now the Hunters will gather and work it up.
That went off the blade of a hunter's stick. But
McLean sends it right back in for Mustangs. Over on
(15:26):
the far side, Cad Romain sends it to swift. Couple
of quick passes and here is Romain. Now big player
is Romain. He wears number twenty five for the Hunter.
He's got a big frame out there on the back end.
Here's a chance. Perhaps now is trying to bust up
through the middle, was Kean Doyle. But again good play
(15:47):
by a couple of Mustang excuse me Hunters defenders as
they closed off the lane. Now Schaefer Gibbs right back
the other way. He used the player as a screen,
got a good shot away the save was made by Patterson.
Rebound was sent into the corner. Good rush there by
the captain of the Hunters, Shaeffer Gibbs. Gibbs wears number
three for the Hunters. He has it along the boards,
now he'll skate it in sharp angles.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
Shot off the side of the goal.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Patterson was down covering up that post to the blocker side.
A couple of players collide along the boards in the
Mustang zone trying to work it free. There are the Mustangs.
Budrow steps into it. Traffic in front as Budrow let
the long shot go from just inside the blue line
on the left point and with bodies in front, righter
Patterson did a nice job of finding that puck through
(16:32):
traffic and he holds on. Got a chance to talk
to the president of the Nova Scotia team Major Hockey League,
Paul Graham. Paul so very interested and invested as you
would expect. Loves this league, loves the teams, the coaches,
the players, and wants to see the league grow and
(16:52):
the development of these players get even better.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
May have something coming your way.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
From a league perspective, and just a little bit week
or two times, stay posted, stay tuned. For that on
the FFM audio Facebook page. Mustangs chipped that puck up
toward the blue line, trying to keep it in. There
was Peyton Boudreau for the Hunters, but the Mustangs will
skate out. Good work coming in there from Lachlan Malaney,
(17:19):
but right back the other the way Cluett trying to
get her out of his bad clue it leading into
the back end in tight nice save there as Patterson
went down covering up the low part of the goal,
as Justin Kluet came bearing down into the Mustangs hole
and was leaning into the defender trying to push him
off with the shoulder as he was controlling the puck
(17:41):
on his backhand and clue. It did get the puck
intward the goal, but again Patterson equal to the task
and the puck stays out and the face off. Now
it's a scrambled draw and the Mustangs will pick it
up in their own zone. They're trying to work there
up there, Aiden Langel couldn't get the puck and it's
right back in. Now here's her cart lucky thirteen Perhaf
(18:03):
but no Cameron her Cart had his forward progress stopped.
Now swift from the left point long shot in Saint
made rebound is there and Cameron Herkart just couldn't settle
the puck as the big juicy rebound was sitting right
close to his stick. Off of that swift point shot,
nine to fifty three to go, we've crossed into the
(18:24):
midway point. Past the midway point now of period one.
Shots on goal seven to four now as the Hunters
have been able to deflect a few more pucks toward
the Mustang's goal in the last few minutes. Now down
the nine forty, there's a nice pass up for Morris,
one man to beat. Morris swoops off to the left,
tried to get around his man and behind the play,
(18:45):
I think we have a roughing, no, maybe a boarding
penalty perhaps, And again that was well behind the play
as I was following the puck into the Mustang zone
to my left. So it looks like it's going to
be a penalty to the Hunters. And once again Dawson
Swift into the penalty box for that boarding call. So
(19:11):
it's the media time out. We'll step aside.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
No score.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
SouthShore Mustangs, March and Milk Co Hunters. We'll be back.
Speaker 4 (19:19):

Speaker 2 (19:41):
It's a power play for the Mustangs coming out of
the media timeout, and that face off will be in
the march and milk Hunter's zone. Looks like it's going
to be Kean Doyle in on the face off or
the Mustangs and Remy Bellevo answering for the Hunters. Big
(20:04):
face off air in the Hunter's zone. Scramble draw Mustangs
grab it and they'll set up now on the power play.
So I thought it was a boarding call, but it's
a roughing call. So Dawson Swift for roughing nine seconds
just came off of the penalty. So the face off
(20:26):
stays in the Hunter zone this time, though it'll be
to the right of Noah Pulk.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
Still no score here.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
Both teams have had a couple of chances, but the
goaltenders keeping a goose eggs on both sides. Hunters able
to flip that puck down into the Mustang zone. Patterson
stops it there and south shore. Now we'll look to
bring it out of their zone. With some space up ahead,
you and McDonald feeds it into the zone. McDonald has
it back at the right point. He plays catch, but
(20:55):
it's intercepted and the Hunters get it out into neutral ice.
McDonald back there, ew and McDonald where is eighteen for
the Mustangs and he'll just feather it up ahead. Gibbs
took his man Doyle out of the play and that'll
allow the Hunters to clear the puck out of the zone.
One twelve to go in the power play for the Mustangs.
Eight forty three left in the first period. Mustang's trying
(21:20):
to get into the zone. This is LeBlanc Parker. LeBlanc
wearing number twenty two, gives a face wass to his
man and LeBlanc carries right on.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
That was Gibbs that he took out of the play.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Mustang stay on the puck, trying to work it around,
but it's intercepted.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
Good work there by Boudrow, but then it's turned over.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
Puck bounces up into the air trying to hand pass
it out of the zone. Was Boudrow for the Hunters.
Mustang stay on a nice pass down low, a bang
bang play one timer as Parker Leblac, It's fed the
puck at the left circle. Got the one timer away
and paulk got a piece. Mustang stay on the puck.
Half a minute to go in their power play working
(21:58):
with it now is Bane gets it in front and
I think the net came off the moorings there was
going down to the ice. Was Remy Bellival for the Hunters,
and indeed the net behind Noah Pulk gets dis lodge.
So they'll fix that. Both teams will get some fresh
special team units out on the ice. Down to seven
(22:21):
fifty seven to go in period number one, twenty four
seconds left in the penalty to Dawson. Swift shots on
goals seven to five favoring the home side. Hunters face
off to the right of Pulk in the Hunter's goal.
Two referee tow lines people's system tonight, So four officials
(22:43):
out there on the ice. Here's Perry keeping it inside
the zone for the Mustangs. Fees it to the left circle.
Quick shot there off the stick of Aiden Langel and
the Hunters will clear it down the ice just seven
seconds to go.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
In the power play for the south Shore, I'll sit
up behind their own goal.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
There's Looty in on the fore check, but south Shore
we'll skate it out. Power play is over, carrying it
into the zone there. That was Callum McMullen. Puck pops
up into the air in front of the Hunter's goal
and the Hunter's Kalida feeds it across. Tried to connect
there with Loody. Loudy getting challenged over along the board's
far side, clew it down low. Clu It trying to
(23:23):
settle a puck feeds it into the high slot back.
It comes long shot there from the point as Worth
let it go, a couple of players down in the
corner battling for it. It goes back to that right point.
Worth sends it back down low again and again Worth
keeps it in at that right point as the Mustangs
tried to clear. Now clue It feeds it across and
that hit a stick in front and the Mustangs we'll
(23:45):
try to regroup in their own zone. Mulaney Mustangs and
the Hunters making changes here. With six forty four to
go back to even strength hockey Hunters have killed off
a couple of penalties. Hereans are zero for two. On
the power play. Romayne sent it in and then took
a check for his troubles and just heading off there
(24:08):
was Aiden Langel as the puck came towards him, but
he was on his way off. Scrambly play in neutral ice.
Now jumping on the puck is Martin for the Hunters,
Martin in a foot race. Getting there first was McLean
Logan McClain watches now as Bellevo tried to get controlled
down low, a couple of more players joined the fray.
(24:29):
Some heavy physical work being done down there as Jack
Chew was laying the lumber into his man down below
the Mustang's goal line, and I think it is Jack
Chew who's going to get two minutes or less in
the box four cross checking. There was some heavy physical
(24:49):
work being done in that just outside the corner I
guess below the Mustang's goal and again it was Chew
laying the lumber on his man and the referee was
right there to call it. So first power play of
the game for the March and Milco Hunters and the
face off in the Mustang zone scramble draw and it's
(25:10):
cleared outside the line. A chance perhaps now shorthanded coming
in with it as Mullaney. Mullaney gets pushed into the
boards and the Hunters will grab it now with Gibbs.
Gibbs gets it up ahead on the stick of Kalita
five forty five to go in the first period one
in the Hunter's power play. Hunter's on the puck. Kalita
(25:30):
tried to excuse you, that was Cluett tried to direct
it in toward the goal and the deflects off a
stick and up high. Well, if you're a sports fan,
this is a fantastic time of year. Basketball preseason is
going to NFL in full swing, Major League Baseball now
down to the National League and America League Championship Series,
(25:51):
and of course the NHL season a few days old.
What a time to be a sports fan, plus all
the other sports that are out there, and we are
glad to be here night bringing you this hockey game.
In then NOVASCOESHO eighteen Major Hockey League. Swift tried to
center that puck. Good defensive play there from the Mustangs
five nineteen to go in the period one thirteen in
the powerplay. Cluet right down Broadway, took a snapshot on
(26:15):
Gold as he was flying into the Mustang zone. Got
a good shot away, but Patterson, no problem, came out
to the top of his crease and just took that
shot right into the center of his jersey. So down
now to one minute and eleven seconds left in the
penalty to number eight. Jack Chew from the Mustangs face
(26:39):
off will be in the Mustang zone of the right
of Patterson. Off the face off. Puck is loose for
a moment. Now it comes back to Worth at the
left point. Worth, he'll just ringing in around the boards
in behind the Mustangs that it goes meeting it. There
was Cameron Urkurt now along the boards. This is Morris.
(27:00):
Morris back to the right point trying to work over it.
There that was Boodrow, Peyton Boudreau again from the right point.
Setting up on the outside are the Hunters. That was
a good shot there and a nice stick and a
pad save as the shot came in from the right circle,
but Patterson kept it out. Now Boodrow from just inside
(27:21):
the blue line try to get a pass in but
it was blocked down. Good defensive play there, by the Mustangs.
They'll make a change now, fresh penalty killers out for
the Mustangs. Four to twenty eight to go in the
period twenty three seconds in the power play for the
March and Milk Hunters, and again the Mustangs able to
clear the puck. Good penalty kill going here for the Mustangs.
(27:42):
That'll make their coach happy. Down it goes again, Hunters.
Just a couple of seconds to go in the power
play for the March and Milk co Hunters. Penalty time
is over two out of the box. Worth tried to
walk into one from just inside the blue line at
(28:04):
that left point.
Speaker 3 (28:06):
Hunters.
Speaker 2 (28:06):
Just keep it in and note the lines person's gonna
say it did actually pop out over the line, as
Peyton Woodrow thought that he kept it in. But we
find striped staff working the line said, ah, no, no,
that was outside the line. And you know, one of
the great things about Nova scotiy a teen major hockey league,
(28:28):
they don't have cameras focus on the blue line, so
there's no replay review of offside calls. If it's called offside,
it's offside. I believe in getting it right, but sometimes
I think those offside delays as they check to see
whether it was or wasn't offside. Slows the game down
way too much, but I digress back to even strength hockey.
Now five on five scramble. He play in the high
(28:50):
slot in front of the Mustangs oh goal, but the
Mustang's able to clear it out. Here's Swift Dawson Swift
again one of the alternate captains for this March and
Milk Hunter's side. He logs a ton of ice time, strong,
steady defender out there, and again as mentioned off the
top of the broadcast, he is the leading scorer for
(29:12):
this March and Milco side four goals, five assists, good
for nine points through nine games. That puck goes in
behind the Mustangs goal. Down to three twenty to go
in the first period. There's a chance as it was
turned over from behind the net sent out in a
Hunter's player had a chance. There's another one that was
Sebastian Surrett had the first chance and it almost came
(29:35):
to him again. Surrett the affiliate player up from the
base in Armada. A couple of looks in the offensive
zone there for number twenty six. Sebastian Surret now the
puck in the Hunter's own corner fire side fed toward
this slot area, but it's cleared away as only white
sweaters there. Right back the other way, here comes Caid Romaine.
(29:56):
Now he's afforded himself well in this game. Another Philly
a player number twenty five, Kane Romain. Puck goes over
to the boards in the far side just in front
of the Mustang's bench.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
Giving chase was Remy Bellavo. But it's the.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
Mustangs now wh'll send it into the hunter's own Schaefer
Gibbs gets there first, sends it across to Peyton Bodrow
and then taking a big hit was Nate Boodrow. As
Nate got sent fly, but pops right back up. He's okay.
Now McDonald works it up ahead for LeBlanc. LeBlanc takes
a good check into the boards as Remy Bellavo stepped
(30:30):
into him. To twelve to go. Now first period to
play no score between these two sides. There's a turnover
chance right in front. Kean Doyle was gifted the turnover
and got a good shot away and getting a piece
was Pulk and then with another chance as the puck
came out front, I think once again that net has
(30:50):
come dislodged and forcing the officials to stop play. But
a close chance there as Kean Doyle had the puck
come to him about twenty two feet right in front
of the goaltender, got a good shot away, and Noah
Paul got a piece. Down to one fifty nine left
to play. And I mentioned Nate Woodrow earlier had a
chance to meet his mom, Shanna. She was doing some
(31:14):
work here putting up some signage with QR codes. I
think it was the game day program QR code. And
so Shawna and Nate's dead Gary both involved with the
team helping out. That's great to see. There's a chance
again as the puck just bouncing around came right to
the stick of Carter Baine and he got a good
(31:35):
shot away. And again Pulk just got a piece. Now
Chow sends it up ahead. Mustangs had to clear the zone.
They did, and the Hunters now will regroup in their
own zone and try to get it out, and they do.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
This is Cluit Cluet trying to speed around his man.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
He does clue it right in front, took a sharp
angle shot waiting for a juicy rebound. Perhaps was Khalida,
but it didn't come. Now Kalita in behind his own goal,
lumbering around there, takes a bump into the glass and
the Mustangs will grab it and try to send it out,
bouncing just inside the blue line. Hunters keep it in,
but it comes right onto the stick of number eight.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
This is Chew. Jack Chew sends it into the zone.
He'll go off for a change.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
As we cross over into the final sixty seconds of
this opening period, still no score. Shots on goal ten
to nine as that has seesawed back and forth. Now
the ten to nine shots on goal favoring the visiting Mustangs.
Puck turned over again, jumping on it quickly, there was
Dice and Ogden. He tried to feed his teammate but
(32:39):
it was broken up. Now Khalida down the left wing side,
flips it in behind the Mustang's goal, jumping on it quickly.
There was McMullen up along the boards on the left side.
Ogden sends it out into neutral ice and backpedaling into
his own zone.
Speaker 3 (32:55):
This is Swift up to McKnight spinning with it. Now
is leeh.
Speaker 2 (33:00):
McKnight crosses the red line up to Morris. Morris trying
to get through a crowd. He was in a triangle
of Mustangs players and it's Langel back the other way,
just seven seconds to go as Lange will just sidestep
the hit attempt from caid Romain as that would have
been a violent collision, but it wasn't to be, and
the horn sounds to end up pretty entertaining. First twenty minutes,
(33:25):
both teams had their chances, but the goaltenders pitching shutouts here.
So after one period of play, it's the South Shore
Mustangs zero, Marchi mil.
Speaker 3 (33:35):
Co Hunters zero.
Speaker 2 (33:37):
Once again shots on goal ten to nine, favoring the
visiting Mustangs.
Speaker 3 (33:41):
We'll step aside, take a break.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
You're listening to the Firm Foundation Media Radio Network's coverage
of the Nova Scotia You eighteen Major Hockey League Mustangs
and Hunters, no score after one.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
Just about set for the beginning of period number two,
no score after one shots on goal. We're ten nine
favoring the visiting Mustangs. And as we begin period two,
the home side March and Milkow Hunter is now skating
left to right, my left to right, and the South
(34:55):
Shore Mustang skating right to left. The home side March
Milkow Hunter is wearing white with black trim, and the
Soushow Mustangs wearing the New York Rangers looking Jersey's with
the dark blue red and white again. Noah Pulk in
goal for the Hunters, Ryder Patterson for the Mustangs. Both
goalies played well in that first period. We do begin
(35:17):
period number two at full strength. Five skaters aside puck
in the neutral ice gathered up there quickly grab and
then skating into the zone. Mustangs leave it there. There's
a quick shot as McDonald got it on goal. Good
quick shot there off the stick of number eighteen you
and McDonald. Perry sends it in from the left point
(35:38):
sticked into the corner there by the goaltender. Pulk now
up to the boards on that left side, it'll come
to the red line. Trying to get in on that
puck was McKnight. McKnight tried to get around Parker Leblac
but couldn't as Lebla did a good job of blocking
the Hunter's player from getting to that puck. Mullaney just
gets a stick on it to flex it down into
(35:59):
the Hunter's zone.
Speaker 3 (36:00):
Both teams making changes here.
Speaker 2 (36:03):
Just a minute and a few seconds into period two Mustangs.
McMullen takes it off the boards in his own zone,
getting on it quickly. There was Cameron Rkart for the Hunters.
Puck stays in the Mustang zone, puck down down below
the goal line. Mustangs trying to get that puck out
(36:23):
as the Hunters make some more changes here. Coming out
of the zone, as bane Bain will flip it cross
ice into the near corner. It goes a couple of
players getting after it there and the Mustangs pick it up.
There's McMullen with a point shot. Traffic in front. Puck
is still loose and the Mustangs will grab it again.
McMullen from that same area lets it go. This time
(36:45):
it's a little higher and it's taken off the shoulder
to the blocker side of the goaltender pulk. But some
good work in the offensive zone by the South Shore
Mustangs as they were able to generate a couple of
good chances in close. Not quite two minutes played here
(37:05):
in this second period, and the face off will be
in the Hunter's zone to the right of their goaltender.
Pulp Doyle in on the face off for the Mustangs
up against Cluet, and they won't like the set up there,
so they'll do it again. Captain Carter Bain for the Mustangs,
(37:28):
taking a close look, it'll settle back in. It'll be
Doyle and clue It once again off the face off,
over to the boards.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
It goes.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
A couple of players, two from each team try to
move it along and the Mustangs will watch. Now as
the puck comes to the blue line, trying to flip
it back into the zone was McMullen.
Speaker 3 (37:54):
He gets it back in on the second try and
then takes a little nudge from Kalida.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
Now the puck is sent out of the zone all
the way down towards the Mustang's goal.
Speaker 3 (38:02):
Kalita skates an after no icing Looty.
Speaker 2 (38:05):
Now heading toward the front of the goal, Kalita had
the puck taken off his stick, though Loudy had it
for a moment. Tried to make a move, but it's
cleared out as getting a stick on it. There it
was Jacob Bellivo for the Mustangs in behind the goal line.
Now Patterson gets it. Almost a big error there is
Patterson try to work it over Hunters intercept. That got
(38:27):
a big chance. Now that was a bit of a scramble.
Play all started when Patterson tried to play the puck
and get it over to his teammate, and then it
was a bit of a dumpster fire, but no harm,
no foul. Puck stays out, score stays zero zero coming
up to three minutes played in this second period. On
(38:47):
the puck is number twenty three Patrick Gosling again. He's
an affiliate up from the Valley sixteen side, wearing the
number twenty three, no name bar on the back, but
he's played fairly well. Comes towards it at the blue
line and it's skipped into neutral ized. Mustang send it
right back in a couple of players come together, Bellevo
(39:08):
for the Hunters, and that was Gozzling for the Mustangs.
Gozzling and Bellevo come together again with the puck in
the Mustang zone. Now it's down in the corner. Mustangs
will grab it and look to skate it up that
left side, trying to chip it over with Ogden that
hit a player stayed inside the Mustang zone, but then
(39:29):
the south Shore side able to finally clear that puck in,
but Bellevo sends it right back.
Speaker 3 (39:34):
In for the Hunters.
Speaker 2 (39:37):
Coming up to four minutes played in this second period,
we are still scoreless and that's going to be an
icing against the Mustang. So the face off will come
down into the south Shore zone with sixteen minutes ten
seconds left to go, shots on goal favoring the visitors
the Mustangs fourteen to nine, but again goose on the
(40:00):
scoreboard face off to the left of Patterson off the
draw comes over to the nearboards trying to swipe it
out of his zone. Was Gozzling, but he'll go over
to the corner on the other side. Thompson jumps on
it out for the Hunters. They'll work it around. Gibbs
(40:20):
went cross ice to Romaine, who tried to go right
back the other way. Mustangs now trying to come on
the attack here in transition, and as the puck came
toward the blue line, Diyce and Ogden went down to
the ice and kind of slid ale on the ice
like a.
Speaker 3 (40:38):
Swiffer cleaning the living room floor.
Speaker 2 (40:39):
He gets up, dusts the ice shavings off his sweater
and hill head to the bench face off just outside
the hunter's zone. And off that face off the Mustangs
will send it in behind the net.
Speaker 3 (40:55):
That will force Pulp to play it there.
Speaker 2 (40:58):
And now it comes to this near side, jumping on
it quickly was Surrett tried to get it up up McMullen.
Nice move by McMullen, trying to work around another defender,
but was stopped a couple of good first moves there
though from Callum McMullen. McMullen again slides it across, trying
to connect there with Ethan Lemoyne. Lamoyne wearing number sixteen,
(41:18):
another affiliate player up from the Kings. How a back
the other way Cuitt two men to beat, try to
split the defense and it's a delayed off side. Hunters
have to clear the zone. End they do, we're shared
with the puck goes Luth for a second, jumping on
it quickly there was Gibbs. Now Cluitt tried to get
around his man as the two seventeens come together down
(41:41):
in the corner, clew it and shared under or fifteen
minutes I should say to play fourteen fifty to be exact,
So just a little over five minutes off the clock
here in period two, we still remained scoreless. That puck
flipped up high to the air office of for shared
(42:01):
hunters able to keep it in though. That puck rolls
lazily over to the corner on this near side. Then
the Mustangs will bounce it into neutral ice. Dawson Swift
try to stop it there. He'll get to it, chip
it off the glass right back down into the Mustang zone.
Scrambling play here with fourteen twenty to go in the second,
(42:22):
both these teams battling hard for a valuable two points
in the standings. There's Morris who walks into a huge
collision with Parker Leblac. Goodness me, Mason Morris just cut
across the ice and literally met cage to cage with
(42:45):
number twenty two, Parker Lebla. You could hear the collision
up here, but both players okay and play carries on.
But that was a heavy, heavy collision. The game of
hockey is fast, furious, and not for the feint of
heart off the face off in the hunter's own control
there too, with a shot from the point bouncing around
(43:07):
and it's cleared away as McKnight got a stick on
it now trying to corral at his camera in her
card in neutral ice, but it's grabbed quickly thereby McDonald
puck deep into the hunter's zone. McDonald thought that puck
was going to come to him quicker as he raced
towards it as it came from the boards in behind
(43:29):
the Hunter's goal slowly towards the blue ice and paulk
had to react and jump on it, and you and
McDonald was right there racing in thought he might have
a chance at a loose puck. Down to thirteen forty
four left to go, second period. Scott Squire's with you
(43:50):
on the firm Foundation Media Radio Network, bringing you this
broadcast from Cole Harbor Place, part of our continuing coverage
of the Nova Scotia.
Speaker 3 (43:59):
You eighteen major Hockey.
Speaker 2 (44:00):
League fase off to the right of Pulk in the
Hunter's zone, controlled nicely there by the Mustangs.
Speaker 3 (44:08):
Mullaney sent it in around the.
Speaker 2 (44:09):
Goal, and now Mustangs will gather in their own zone
trying to flip that puck up ahead. Mullaney try to
reach in for it, but the Hunters send it right
back in. This is Perry now cross ice. Mustangs will
just chip it into the zone. Mullaney rushing in after
that puck, but not before Pulk puts the big catching
(44:32):
glove on it and.
Speaker 3 (44:34):
Covers it up.
Speaker 2 (44:35):
We'll have another face off now down to thirteen minutes,
eighteen seconds left to go. My broadcast position here at
the center ice red line, just inside the main doors
where you come in and buy your tickets or get
your fifty to fifty tickets. From the face off, Hunters
will backhand it off the glass.
Speaker 3 (44:55):
We are five aside here.
Speaker 2 (44:56):
Even strength hockey chance now for Cluett tried to buzz
the clue. It gets a shot away from just inside
that left face off circle, and Patterson was over hugging
that post on the near side to his blocker side
and made a nice save off of that. Justin Kluet
rush clue, it's had himself a good game so far.
(45:20):
He'll settle in for the face off, now to the
right of the Mustang's goaltender, and from that face off
it's controlled by Captain Baine.
Speaker 3 (45:29):
Now a chance on the breakaway and they score. What
an effort from Jacob Bellevo.
Speaker 2 (45:37):
As Bellevo was sprung in, turned on the jets and
lifts it up over the goaltender pulk and the ice
has been broken and it's number twenty one. Jacob Bellevo
his third of the year, and the Mustangs have the lead.
(46:00):
Great rush and nice finish from Bellevo. So Bellevo opens
up the scoring here with seven minutes exactly gone by
in the second period. Just a great effort and the
(46:20):
Mustangs in again with a long shot save made trying
to get in there looking for the rebound was Doyle.
So now a little extra jump in the step of
the Mustangs after.
Speaker 3 (46:29):
That Bellevo goal.
Speaker 2 (46:32):
So Bellevo with his third goal of the year, and the
Mustangs have the lead. So they give the loan assists
to the captain of the Mustangs, Carter Main. So it's
(46:52):
Bellevo from Bain. A little bebe action for the Mustangs.
So we've got our first goal of the game, and
then the Mustangs now have the lead on the road
and right off the face off the back official calling
trip so heading to the penalty box. Looks like it's
(47:14):
gonna be number twenty. No it's not. I thought it
was Romaine, but Romaine was just going to the bench.
So wait to see here, who's that call against? It
was just right off the face off, A couple of
bodies were in around the puck, and it's the Mustang's
door that's open.
Speaker 3 (47:30):
So over to the penalty box.
Speaker 2 (47:33):
Those number twenty Aiden Langel, so Langel guilty of tripping.
So the Hunters, after giving up the first goal of
the game, are on the power play. This is Gibbs
from the right side, fanned on that shot, and now
the Mustangs perhaps a chance here shorthaded, nice little drop passes.
(47:55):
It was reshired getting it to Lynch and Lynch couldn't
quite settle a but that was a great rush and
a good look shorthanded from the Mustangs there as they
just busted into the zone and they just couldn't quite
get to finish. But a nice setup from Rashard over
to Lynch and now another penalty coming here. Through all
(48:22):
of that, it's gonna be Shaeffer Gibbs, so that will
nullify the power play. I didn't even see the penalty
or the call, so I'll have to wait to see
what they announced. They're in the building, but it is
Gibbs to the penalty box, so it's hooking. So Shaefer Gibbs,
(48:43):
the captain of the Hunters, now goes to the penalty
box for hooking.
Speaker 3 (48:48):
So we've got some four on four little extra skating
room out there.
Speaker 2 (48:54):
Still one point thirty eight left in the penalty for
the Hunters, and now penalty to excuse me, to the Mustangs,
and now a penalty of the Hunter. So a long
stretch bearing any other calls of four on four hockey
here trying to work the puck forward that was Rashard
seventeen reshared has been active in this game for the Mustangs.
(49:16):
Now here comes McMullen season opening turns on the Jets,
has a little space down the left side, takes it
down low. He gets taken out of the play and
the puck goes over to the boards. Khalida tries to
clear it, but it's not out. Khalida will try again,
bounces it off the boards onto that puck quickly was
the defender cho four on four hockey here with eleven
(49:38):
twenty seven to go into the zone is reshired, but
his mates are offside, so we'll have a face off.
Down to eleven twenty five in the second period, there's
fifty two seconds left in the penalty to Aiden Langel
and one eleven left in the penalty to Shaeffer Gibbs.
(50:01):
Oh face off will come over on the far side,
just outside the blue line of the Hunters, and the Mustangs
will flip it down into the zone giving chase.
Speaker 3 (50:14):
There's Landry.
Speaker 2 (50:16):
Landry throws a shoulder into his man and the puck
goes over to the far side. Here's a chance now
from the right circle, long shot and down in the
butterfly to make the save was Pulk, but again another
good chance. There always a good idea to put that
puck on it. Good things can happen down to eleven
(50:38):
h nine left in the period, thirty six seconds left
in the penalty to aid Langel. Then it'll be a
short power play for the Mustangs. Mustangs control it down low.
There's a chance spinning right in front. Was number eighteen,
you and McDonald And after he got the shot away
and Pulk made the save, he.
Speaker 3 (50:57):
Kinda gave a shud of the shoulder.
Speaker 2 (51:00):
Is in a push of the stick, a little bit
frustrated that he couldn't find an opening in behind Pulk,
But he was in pretty tight not a whole lot
of space to shoot at there, and Pulk made himself
big and makes the save. Four on four hockey, lots
of skating room out there. This is Perry off the
face off skates in now drops it back to Doyle
(51:21):
from the left point. Doyle had that shot go off
of number twenty two Brandon Martin for the Hunters twelve
seconds to go in the Mustang's penalty. Then they'll have
a very short power play, about nineteen seconds of power
play time. Here's Perry left point, long shot, hit a
skate in front and the Hunters will gather and skate
(51:42):
it out.
Speaker 3 (51:43):
Here come the Hunters into the zone.
Speaker 2 (51:44):
It's Martin trying to feather it across that didn't quite connect.
Speaker 3 (51:49):
Penalty is over. Out of the box is Langel.
Speaker 2 (51:52):
So a short power play here for the Mustangs seven
seconds to go in the penalty. The gibbs on that
power player. This is Bane gaining his zone. Bane behind
the goal, Bane circling, spinning, looking, dishes off to the
right long shot there, and Chew just sent it wide
of the goal. Now Gibbs is out of the box
and grabs that puck. Gibbs out of the box, into
(52:13):
the zone, and a backhander just went off the tip
of the catching glove of Patterson. So we're back to
even strength. Five on five, we've crossed beyond the halfway
point of the period. There is a centering pass just
underneath the stick of Dawson Swift. Right back the other
way come the Mustangs. Bellevo tried to work into the zone,
(52:35):
but the Hunters will grab.
Speaker 3 (52:36):
It and work it out.
Speaker 2 (52:37):
It just hops over the stick of Thompson, and now
Chew will watch coming into the zone. This is Nate,
but Row try to slide it across to Thompson.
Speaker 3 (52:46):
Swift out jumps the stars.
Speaker 6 (52:49):
Dawson Swift, the leading point getter for the march in
mil Coo Hunters, jumps on a loose puck after the
Hunters were pressuring.
Speaker 2 (53:01):
And he snaps it low in behind the goaltender Patterson.
Dawson Swift has goal number five point number ten and
the Merch and Milco Hunters have tied it at one.
So Swift answers, as he's done so often this season,
(53:26):
not afraid to jump up from his defensive position and
pinch into the play. And that's just what he did there.
And it's goal number five on the season, goal number
one for the hunters, and we are at the media timeout.
We'll step aside one to one back in a moment.
Speaker 4 (53:44):
Elder Dog Canada has spent sixteen years strengthening the bond

Speaker 2 (54:07):
SO. Just before the media timeout, Dawson Swift gathering up
a loose puck after some hunter's pressure and he let
a low shot go in tight got it in behind
the goal Patterson. So Swift's fifth of the year, point
number ten. He's the leading point getter on this hunter's team,
and he has brought his team back to even at
(54:28):
one and now a delayed penalty call coming here to
the Hunters and rushing to the bench for the extra
attacker is Patterson for the Mustangs, and this over shared
whistles a shot wide to the net. Now Bain jumps
on a delayed penalty here extra skater on. There was
a shot from just at the top of that right circle.
(54:49):
As letting it go was Ethan Lemoyne and out to
the top of his crease to grab that puckless pulk.
So we'll have a stop agenna face off with eight
fifty nine to go in the second period. And now
just after equalizing the March and Milco Hunters have taken
a penalty. So over in the box is number seventeen,
(55:12):
justin Kuitt. So it's a power play here for the Mustangs.
Scramble jaw Baine try to slide it back to the
point and it goes into neutral ice. So tripping is
the call to Cluet and the Mustangs. Now we'll look
to get set up on the power play. Puck into
(55:33):
the corner in their own zone, and that was hit
with a high stick on the Mustangs. So as Carter
Bain touches it, they play whistle down. We'll have a
face off down to eight forty to go in the
second period, one forty left in the penalty to Justin
Cleuet face off to the right of Patterson. Off that
(55:57):
face off, trying to get a shot away. There those
number twenty three Boodrow. Nate Boodrow's had himself a good
game here so far in this one, but it's the
Mustangs now on the power play. Rushing the buck into
the zone is Bellevo. Bellevo has the Mustang's goal in
this one, but he got stopped on that attempt and
Hunters will send it down the ice. Patterson stops it
(56:18):
in behind his own goal line and the Mustangs will
pick it up. Now across the red line trying to
work into the zone was ew And McDonald and he
kind of lost an edge and went down, and the
players whistled down with eight oh seven left to go.
Second pariy to action here shots on goal twenty one
to eleven, as the Mustangs have widened the gap in
(56:40):
the shots on goal, but on the scoreboard where it
really counts one to one year score one minute and
seven seconds left in the tripping minor to Justin clue
it of the Hunters.
Speaker 3 (56:55):
It's been an entertaining game so far. In this one.
Speaker 2 (57:00):
Off over on the far side, just outside the hunter's
zone and a clean face off win for the Mustangs.
Speaker 3 (57:05):
They'll flip it down into the hunter's zone. All the
way around the net. It goes.
Speaker 2 (57:09):
Romaine picks it up on the far side. He gets
challenged over there and gets helped, gets some help from
Loody and the Hunters able to clear it out. Now Langel,
just outside his own blue line for the Mustangs, watches
as his mates. Now we'll regroup, long pass up toward
the red line, controlled neatly there by Langel. Langel from
the right circle skated in, took a sharp angled shot
(57:31):
that went wide.
Speaker 3 (57:32):
Now a chance here, short.
Speaker 6 (57:34):
Headed Loudy in alone loony shoots big save rebound.
Speaker 3 (57:38):
Is there, added Patterson.
Speaker 2 (57:40):
Denis the rebound as following up. The Hunters had a
couple of great chances. First it was Loody and then
Cameron Urkhart on the rebound and Patters said, back to
back big saves.
Speaker 3 (57:53):
Keeps at one one.
Speaker 2 (57:56):
Now trying to get into the zone was Langel, but
well offside was his teammate Mulaney. But how about rider
Patterson couple of huge saves on the march and Milco Hunters.
Loudy came in, broke away in the clear, got the
(58:18):
first shot away, big pad and stick save in the
butterfly from Patterson, and then Urkart was right there, got
a rebound shot away and Patterson stopped that one too,
And now the penalty to number seventeen. Justin Klewitt has expired.
Cluet out of the box. Teams back to five on five.
(58:39):
Best scoring chance on that on that penalty was a
shorthanded chance, two of them as a matter of fact,
Loody and then Urkhart as that puck goes up and
out of play into the Mustangs bench.
Speaker 3 (58:53):
So back to five on five.
Speaker 2 (58:55):
Here six forty four to go in period number two
and entertaining game one on your score. We're at Cole
Harbor Place, once upon a time, home of NHL icons
like Sidney Crosby and Nathan McKinnon. And over behind the play,
a couple of players tangled up along the boards just
in front of the Mustang's bench, and the play all
(59:17):
the way down to my right in the Mustang's end
of the ice, so that collision at the other end
of the ice. Got some reaction from the fans, but
play carries on. Here's for shared dancing into his zone.
Tried to step around his man, but the puck goes
into the corner. Gibbs meets it there and then puck
again along the boards. Were shared trying to pick it
off the wall, but it's the hunters who will gather
(59:39):
up and skate out with it.
Speaker 3 (59:40):
Now this is Kalda.
Speaker 2 (59:42):
Kalita has Morris heading toward the front of the goal,
but it comes back to Worth and he let a
shot go that went off the stick of Morgan Landry
and well up and out of play. So we'll have
another stoppage and a face off. Now down to five
fifty eighth to go. Oh see, they're playing the Beatles,
(01:00:04):
and I don't know. I always look for an excuse
to sing, and when you play the Beatles, that.
Speaker 3 (01:00:08):
Might be it. But I'll give the listeners a break.
I won't sing till later on.
Speaker 2 (01:00:12):
But if they play the Beatles again, I'm gonna sing
off that face off in the Mustangs Owe, it's controlled
by the Mustangs working it out. There was Bellevo Bellovo
went after the puck. Now Bellevo lays the body into
his man. Good strong check from Bellevo on Kalita. Excuse me,
that was twenty four, not fourteen. Peyton Bundrou took that check.
(01:00:34):
Physical play picks up a little bit here now with
five thirty four to go in the period. Here's Kluek
skating and behind the goal. Tried to chip it out
in front, lurking. There was Sebastian surret, but the goaltender
Patterson had to go up into his equipment and he
was able to hold it and we'll have a face off.
(01:00:57):
Five twenty seven now left in the second period. Shots
on goal twenty one thirteen favoring the visiting Mustangs. But
it's one one year score Jacob Bellevo for the Mustangs
and Dawson Swift answering for the Hunters. Now into the zone,
the goal scorer Bellevaux took a shot from well over
(01:01:19):
towards the boards on that right side. Block down in
front and the Hunters will take it off the glass
and out from the red line. Now, McMullen, we'll just
flip it ahead, caught there by Martin, he'll skate it
into the zone. Martin spins around, gets it over onto
the stick there of Nate Budrow. Budrow takes a shove
into the corner back to Martin along the boards.
Speaker 3 (01:01:41):
Now the other Boodrow.
Speaker 2 (01:01:42):
This is a Peyton, Nate Whear's twenty three Peyton wears
twenty four, both bood Rows. But it's the Mustangs who
will grab it now and Dane sends it down into
the hunter's zone. He spins around. The Hunters will make
excuse me. The Mustangs will change up some personnel as
the Hunters skate it out down a four to thirty
five to go, Mustangs intercept that puck quick shot there,
(01:02:05):
letting it go from that right circle that was number
twenty two Parker LeBlanc. Now puck down low in the
hunter's zone. Mustang's on it. They'll bounce it off the
wall to McDonald you and McDonald sends it down low
again from behind the goal line. Hunters will skate out
(01:02:25):
with it with Braden Martin. Martin has the track it
over to the boards, works it up ahead for Nate Budrou.
Nate Budrow now takes it down below the goal line,
all the way down into the Mustangs under the ice,
but the Mustangs will grab it and they'll skate it
out of their zone. Now up the left side, it's Mullaney.
Mullaney leans into a little snapshot and no problem there
(01:02:47):
for the goaltender Polk, who takes out the catching glove
and hangs onto that shot. Time continues to tick away.
Now three point fifty left in period number two. One
goal for each team in this period, and we are
tied one. One face off will be in the Hunter's
(01:03:12):
zone to the left of Noah Pulk and from the draw,
Gibbs sends it in around behind his own goal. Romayne
sends it back the other way, but it's intercepted by
the Mustangs that will work it up to the boards
on the near side trying to charge forward. That there
was Alex Lynch and now jumping on its Kalida he'll
(01:03:32):
bang it off the wall. Looty, he'll backhand it toward
the red line, getting there first as Lynch, but Kluet
was there. But the play ended up being off side
as Kluet touched the puck. So we'll have a stoppage
and a face off just outside the Mustang's blue line.
(01:03:53):
So at the faceoff dot just below my broadcast position
here and the face off is one end control by
the Hunters. They'll send it down into the zone as
Kalita sent it in and went after it. Gibbs now
tried to pinch along the boards, couldn't keep it in.
Clew it followed up, sent it forward, but the Mustangs
jump on it quickly. Coming in with it now is
(01:04:15):
Mick Mullen. He took a shot and went off the
side of the goal back to the point and it
gets by Alex Lynch and he has to gallop back
into his own end, sends it across to Perry. Sean
Perry tried to pass it. Clue intercepts and again Clew
it's a little bit ahead of the play, So once
(01:04:35):
again we'll have a whistle and a face off. Inside
three minutes to play in this second period, two point
fifty five left to be exact. Shots on goal now
twenty four to fourteen in favor of the visiting Mustangs.
Fase off fur side in front of the Hunter's bench,
just outside the Mustang zone. Scrambly face off. Getting to
that puck first was Cameron Urkhart. He tried to backhand
(01:04:58):
it ahead. Morris gets aching down and the Mustangs will
send the puck deep down below the goal line in
the Hunter's zone.
Speaker 3 (01:05:06):
Dawson. Swift sent it up. He'll get it. He'll try
the other side. Now.
Speaker 2 (01:05:09):
Morris over there chipped it to the blue line, but
not out kept in neatly there by Raschard. Now again
Swift tries the other side, got it as far as
the red line. It was knocked down there by number
twenty three Patrick Gosling loose puck jumping on it there
was Rochard got a great shot away and down to
(01:05:31):
get a piece was the goaltender Pulk. As it comes
toward the front of the goal. Again good pressure here
in the late part of the second period from the Mustangs.
It'll be the Hunters now taking a big hit there
is McKnight, but he still gets it into his.
Speaker 3 (01:05:44):
Own cross ice. Swift, pinching in, took a.
Speaker 2 (01:05:47):
Shot from down low on that left circle, sent it
right in front of the goal. It comes back the
other way as sending it in was worth. Waiting in
front was Swift, but it went beyond him. Both teams
changing up the personnel now with to go second period
of play, it's a one to one tie here at
Cole Harbor Place. The Mustangs and the Hunters. It's been
an entertaining one. Hope you're enjoying tuning in wherever you are,
(01:06:10):
whatever device you're listening on. Here's McKnight now trying to
jump through the defense and the Mustangs will shut it down. Bain,
we'll grab it on the left wing side. Bain takes
it off the board, sends it in behind the net.
Pulp will stop it there. He'll send it over to
Morris who was waiting over on that far side. Puck
in the Hunter zone. Morris takes a little push, burning
(01:06:33):
me now. Gibbs gets it in behind the goal for Peyton.
Buodrow comes dangerously out in front, but only white sweaters
there clear it off to the left side, but the
Mustang's able to keep it in. Puck again comes out
toward the front of the goal, but off to the
other side. Hunters hemmed in their own zone. You're having
a hard time getting it out. As I say that,
(01:06:54):
it does come into neutral ice and it'll be grabbed
now by Morris down the right side. Inside the final
minute of play in the second period, forty five seconds
to be exact. Now down to forty seconds. Lead pass
trying to tect with Delavo. Gibb stepped in the way
of that butt in transition. Quickly Bane try the slide
it across there to Doyle that was broken up and
(01:07:17):
the bodies continue to fly here. Now clue it one
on two, clue it has some help and clue it
head porter Khalita rushing in up the middle and clue
it down that right wing side snapped a shot on goal.
Speaker 3 (01:07:31):
Patterson makes the save.
Speaker 2 (01:07:39):
Down to twenty three point four seconds left in this
second period, face off in the Mustang zone or the
left of their goaltender. Patterson face off comes back to
the right point. Sliding it across there was Romain and
Gibbs fanned on his shot attempt. Puck will come to
(01:08:00):
the board's nearside. Twelve seconds to go in the period.
Romaine keeps it in right point, puts a shot in
toward the goal that one up high hit a body
in front jumping on it again is Romayne. Just a
couple of seconds to go and the referee's arm is
up as the horn sounds and it's a cross checking call.
(01:08:21):
So the question is who is it against. As a
little bit of pushing and shoving happens after the buzzer sounds,
so the cross checking call was called again. There was
a few bodies down in the near corner to my
right in the Hunter's end of the ice, So we'll
(01:08:42):
have to wait and see who that penalty is on.
If they announce it before the intermission begins, i'll let
you know, but I can't tell you there will be
a power play for one of these teams to start
period number three. So forty minutes in the books, the
team's tied one one and it looks like they've got
number nine Will Loody up on the board. So Will
(01:09:04):
Loody gets a cross checking penalty literally at the twenty
minute mark, So as the South Shore Mustangs begin period
number three, they will be on a two minute power play.
So we'll step aside, take a break. Two periods done,
it's one to one Mustangs and the Hunters. Shots on
goal through two periods twenty five for the Mustangs, fifteen
(01:09:27):
for the Hunters.
Speaker 3 (01:09:28):
We'll be back in just a bit.
Speaker 2 (01:09:30):
You're listening to the firm Foundation media or radio network.
Speaker 7 (01:09:35):
Some good fresh pressed fruit loaded with electrolytes enjoy as
a hydration shot between periods or as a freeze anytime
it's some good.
Speaker 2 (01:09:48):
Welcome back to Cole Harbor Place, where after two periods
of play, the SouthShore Mustangs and the March and milk
co Hunters tied at one apiece. Very pleased to be
joined by Keegan Watt. Keegan is the coach of the
South Shore Mustang. He's taking a close one go and
hear your thoughts after forty minutes.
Speaker 8 (01:10:04):
Ah, you know you got two teams that are pretty
similar and strength and weaknesses, and you know they've been
going to battle here tonight, right, and you know we'll
see what the third period brings, see who executes their
small details, and that's will be the team to win
the game.
Speaker 2 (01:10:18):
Both goaltenders have played pretty well, just one goal for
each team, and in that second period the March and
Milkow Hunters were shorthanded but got a couple of big chances,
one of them will Looty on the breakaway, and Ryder
Patterson made a couple of big says, maybe just a
word about your goaltenders performing so far through too.
Speaker 8 (01:10:35):
Rider's been well for us, right, young young kid, first
year kid in the league. And it's a tough it's
a tough grind for a kids that's first year. You know,
he had a little rough starting at the season, but
now he's really finding some confidence and really gaining gaining
his respect in this league.
Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
Now, I've had many coaches say to me that to
coach at any level in any sport, you gotta love it.
Speaker 3 (01:10:56):
What is it about coaching that appeals to you?
Speaker 8 (01:11:00):
Just helping the kids be better people, right, that's what
we want. That's a big thing in our program.
Speaker 2 (01:11:05):
Right.
Speaker 8 (01:11:05):
Yes, we're all hockey players, but it all comes to
an end at some point.
Speaker 3 (01:11:09):
So you know, a.
Speaker 8 (01:11:09):
Big thing in our program is we try to make
them better people and and get them ready for the
next stage, rather that's junior hockey or university or trade,
whatever it may be in life. That's our big thing.
Speaker 2 (01:11:21):
Who have been some influential people in your hockey life,
whether it's from playing time or even your coaching career.
Speaker 8 (01:11:28):
Big for me is you know, down on the South Shore,
Sean Woodworth, he got me into this high level coaching
and you know, fell in love ever since. And and
another one would be Lori Baron Louri gave me a
chance to get into the scouting side of the game.
And and you know them two guys, right, there are
very very important to me. In the hockey world.
Speaker 2 (01:11:47):
We like to focus on the Nova scotiy eight team
Major Hockey League, but you mentioned Lori Baron, so let
me ask you a little bit about your thoughts on
what the Yarmouth Mariners mean to that community and the
fans down there.
Speaker 8 (01:11:58):
Oh, it's it's huge, right, what Laurie does with that
program off the ice into the community, and it's just
it's massive right there. The community buys into that program
so well. You know, you go down there on any
any given night that they're playing and you've got a
thousand plus people in the stands, right, So right there
shows how much, you know, how much it means to
the community.
Speaker 2 (01:12:19):
When you're coaching these young players, what kind of messaging
do you want to instill in them to make them
better people?
Speaker 3 (01:12:27):
Better players?
Speaker 8 (01:12:28):
Hard work, right, hard work gets you through gets you
through things, right, you know, problems in life, problems anywhere. Right,
Just keep that work ethic going and good things will happen.
Speaker 2 (01:12:39):
Tell me a little bit about the building that you
guys play your home games in, because I haven't actually
seen the game there, but I've heard really good things
about it.
Speaker 8 (01:12:47):
Oh, very nice facility we got probably i'd argue, one
of the top dressing rooms in the league. You know,
you walk in a nice backdoor entrance into our nice room,
walk off that to to right onto the bench, and
then top. You know you got a nice seating area,
nice four ya entrance, library, swimming pool, you know, pretty
much anything you want we got at our facilities. So
(01:13:08):
it's nice for the boys.
Speaker 2 (01:13:09):
I said, I haven't seen a game there, but at
some point this season I'll be down at least once
to call a home game four the Mustangs. We'll wrap
up with you here in a second, but I want
to ask you as well what anyone has never seen
this Mustangs team play. I know it's early in this season,
but how would you explain or describe your team's identity.
Speaker 8 (01:13:29):
We're a hard working group right right now, we're a
little inexperienced in the league right thirteen new bodies and
this is a tough league to come into to participate
in rights. It's tough day in day out, right. You
got guys that are you know, pretty well ready for
Junior A. Some guys are going to make the jump
the major junior and as a as a young fifteen
or even a sixteen year old kid played you sixteen
(01:13:51):
last year. It's a tough battle here, right, So you know,
we just instilled hard work into our group, our small
detail and see how it goes at end of the year.
Speaker 2 (01:14:02):
All right, before I let you go, a quick sales
pitch for anyone listening as to why they should come
out and watch a Nova Scotia UA teamage jocoely game
in person.
Speaker 8 (01:14:12):
Also top kids in the province, right, you're gonna see
some of these names, you know skating over at the
Scotia Banks and er you know at the videotron and Quebec.
Speaker 3 (01:14:20):
Right.
Speaker 8 (01:14:21):
You know, it's very very good hockey and a lot
of good hockey players in the league right now.
Speaker 2 (01:14:25):
Well, Coach Keigan Watt, we appreciate your time and we
wish you success in the third period and the rest.
Speaker 3 (01:14:30):
Of the season.
Speaker 8 (01:14:31):
All the best. Thanks for having me.
Speaker 3 (01:14:32):
It's been a pleasure. Thank you very much. That is
Kegan Watt.
Speaker 2 (01:14:34):
He is the head coach of the South Shore Mustangs.
His team scored a goal in that period. They are
tied one to one on the road with the March
and Milco Hunters. Will step aside take a break. Third
period action coming up. You're listening to the firm Foundation
Media or Radio Network.

Speaker 2 (01:15:16):
Teams coming out of the dressing room, back onto the ice,
getting ready for a third period of play. Scott Squire's
with you here on the firm Foundation Media Radio Network.
Glad to have you on board for this broadcast from
Cole Harbor Place tonight. The home side March and Milkow
Hunters and the visitors. The Soushore Mustangs tied after two
periods of play. Shots on Goal twenty five fifteen favoring
(01:15:38):
the Mustangs after two periods and starting this third period,
the Mustangs will be on a full two minute power
play as just at the twenty minute mark, Will Loody
was given a penalty, so power play for the Mustangs.
Starting period three, of the Mustangs were in their dark
blue with red and white trim, looking a lot like
(01:15:58):
the New York Rangers will be skate now left to
right and the home side March and Milco Hunters at
home wearing they're white with black. They're skating now right
to left as I am at the center ice red
line here level two at Cole Harbor Place number one. Also,
(01:16:19):
a big thank you to the head coach Keegan Watt
from the SouthShore Mustangs for stopping by and chatting in
that second admission. We certainly appreciate the time from coach Watt.
There's a Jeff they score the Mustangs as they're just
announcing the penalty that happened at the end of the second.
(01:16:44):
Just thirty four seconds into the third, the Mustangs off
a what was kind of are harmless looking scramble in
front and it's Jacob Bellivo with number two on the day,
number four on the year, and it's two one.
Speaker 3 (01:17:05):
So that didn't take.
Speaker 2 (01:17:06):
Long, just thirty four seconds and they were literally just
announcing the looty penalty as the puck kind of squirted
toward the front of the Hunter's goal and Bellevo able
to tuck it in, so his fourth of the year.
Second of the game and it's two to one for
the visiting South Shore Mustangs. So both of these teams,
(01:17:30):
it's been tight throughout. Both have played well, both Goldeners
have played well. But that is a big power play
goal right there for Bellevo and the Mustangs. So two
goals for the south Shore, both of them. Announcing the
(01:17:53):
Bellevo goal. Now an unassisted marker for Bellevo. So back
to five on five here and again that happened in
thirty four seconds from the opening puck drop here in
period three. Now Swift takes a little nudge there as
(01:18:13):
he tried to control the puck. Mustangs will grab it
fresh sheet of ice here as we've played just over
a minute, and now Budrow for the Hunters and LeBlanc
for the Mustangs have a few words and do a
little pushing and shoving.
Speaker 3 (01:18:29):
Nothing comes of that though.
Speaker 2 (01:18:34):
So we'll get ready for a face off here just
below our broadcast position. Face off just outside the Mustang
zone Martin and on the draw up against Lynch and
now Budrow, Nate Woodrow having a few words now with Langel.
(01:18:54):
So Nate Budrow got to be under his bonnet there
with a couple of Mustangs players. Got a little legend
to his game there tonight. Just Nate Poodreau is that
long puck goes in and handle no problem. So a
bit of a stop and go start here to begin
this third period. But if you're a Mustangs fan, hey,
you like to stop and go start. You've got a
(01:19:16):
goal from it. A power play marker from Jacob Delavo,
not bad eh face off to the left of the
goaltender Patterson and it's controlled.
Speaker 3 (01:19:26):
But it's turned over now right.
Speaker 2 (01:19:28):
Up the middle comes Langel, Langel between three defenders and
a good job catching up defensively there. The puck is
still lose. There's another chance going for the top corner,
was Logan McLain. All kinds of stuff going on there
in that last sequence, as the Mustang's got a couple
of chances out of it, but the Hunters ended up
(01:19:51):
doing a pretty decent job covering up defensively, as that
was dangerous to say the least. However, it remains a
one goal game and you know it meant Patterson a
moment ago making a save there. And I talked about
Ryder Patterson, the goaltender for the Mustangs in this game
to coach Keegan Watt, and I'll finish that thought here
in a second. As the puck is dropped and now
(01:20:13):
coming away with his Martin. He's got Nate Budrow on
the left, Martin down the right.
Speaker 6 (01:20:16):
To budro Bundrow shoots and Patterson, Oh my, he must
have known I was talking about him as he got
a piece.
Speaker 3 (01:20:24):
A great rush but enough.
Speaker 2 (01:20:26):
Nice save there again by Ryder Patterson puck over on
the board's far side. Back, it comes to swift. He'll
just throw it down low. A couple of Mustangs play
catch with it up along the wall. Now Lemoyne again,
Leamoyne one of the affiliate players in tonight's lineup. A
couple of affiliates across both of these lineups. Now Martin
(01:20:49):
set up that play moments ago to Nate Budrow on
it again, that long shot sticked in behind the goal.
No problem there for Patterson. Down behind the net. Here's
Nate Boudreau again. It seems like he's been on the
ice for the last three minutes. Number twenty three in white.
Nate Boudreau now hunters trying to set it up from
(01:21:12):
behind the goal. Boodroau is looking around the blue ice,
Martin tried to get it to him, comes back to Romaine.
Martin left point, takes the shot there, good save me
from the left circle. Patterson again Patterson locked in here
in goal for the Mustangs sixteen to fifty seven to
go in the third period. That shot grazes off the
(01:21:33):
side of the goal and the Mustangs into the ice.
Mustangs will pick it up. They can't get it past Morris.
Morris has it now left circle down low. Morris sends
it in toward the front of the goal. Hanging around
there was Cameron Rkart, but no problem for Patterson. So
just to finished head thought on Patterson that I started
before he had made that electrifying save on the Martin
(01:21:55):
to Boodrou set up, I talked about those two big
saves that Patterson made during that power play chance that
the Mustangs were on and the Hunters came in shorthanded
and Patterson made a couple of big saves to keep
a tide at the time, and Coach said, you know
how good Patterson has been for him, And I literally
had started the thought on Patterson when he made that
(01:22:17):
big save as coming down the right side for the
Hunters was Braden Martin feathered a lovely pass, just sausted
it over onto the stick of Nate Budrow, who got
a decent shot away from the left circle, but.
Speaker 3 (01:22:29):
Again Patterson makes the save. Down to sixteen thirty three
to go.
Speaker 2 (01:22:36):
Third period shots on goal twenty six to twenty favoring
the visiting Mustangs. Off the face off, Urkhart has it
in the corner near side. Now, Morris, we'll pick it
up down low, slides it back to the right point,
trying to get a shot through there was Peyton Budrou
but it'll go down into the Hunter zone and as
Gibbs comes back for it. For the Hunters, it'll be
(01:23:00):
the icing charged to the Mustang, so the face off
will come down into the Mustang zone. South Shore Mustangs
looking for their first win on the season. They've got
one point that they earned in an overtime loss, but
they have yet to find a w so they're working
(01:23:23):
hard for that tonight. And the Hunters, well, they want
to protect Tom. I say there's a chance from the
point rebound in tight covered up by Patterson. The right
point shot came in from Swift over on the right side.
It looked kind of harmless at first, but then all
kinds of bodies in and around Ryder Patterson, and he
(01:23:44):
had to stand his ground to make sure that puck
didn't get shoveled in behind. Fans getting vocal here at
Cole Harbor Place. And as you can imagine, with a
tightly contested game like this, were they close, score temperatures
(01:24:08):
will rise, as will the intensity as the third period
rolls on.
Speaker 3 (01:24:12):
Here's swift left point long shot high.
Speaker 2 (01:24:14):
To the air and grabbing it up around the face
mask was Patterson as Dawson Swift floated it in from
that left point, face off again in the Mustang zone
of the right of the goaltender Patterson and off the
face off its control. By number eight Jack Chew. Chew
(01:24:35):
had the puck taken off of his stick, but Bane,
the captain of the Mustangs, will work it up ahead,
trying to get it up to Bellevo.
Speaker 3 (01:24:42):
Bellevo on hat trick.
Speaker 2 (01:24:43):
Watch here but a chance clue it now in with
a quick shot and a good safe from Patterson. Clue
it on that puck now down low. Good work from Clue.
It stays on that puck. That clue it had it
taken away, but it still ends up going toward the
front of the goal as Kalito was there for the Hunters.
Now on the far side to the blue line, not out.
(01:25:05):
There's a long shot again off the stick of Worth
that was blocked about ten feet in front of the
Mustang's goal. Puck now on the boards on the near side,
still in the Mustangs uder the ice.
Speaker 3 (01:25:15):
Clue It grabs it head scars. How about that? Justin
Kluet grabs.
Speaker 2 (01:25:22):
That puck, skates in down low in that left circle
and just snapped it down low and it gets in
behind Patterson, who takes a drink and squirts the water bottle.
I'm sure he's not happy with that, but listen, Justin
Klutt has been all around the puck all game long,
and again on that shift he was like a dog
(01:25:45):
with a bone on that puck and gets rewarded pulling
the puck toward the goal at that left circle and
snapping it in behind Patterson. So clue It and Hunter
have equalized. Then they're announcing the Cluet goal now, So
(01:26:07):
a big goal from Cluet and we're back to square one.
Speaker 3 (01:26:12):
It's two to two, So again.
Speaker 2 (01:26:17):
The Cluet goal has equalized. Good work from cluet on
that shift. Now swift from the left point, trying to
work it along the boards. Mustangs McDonald will get it
up to neutral ice, turning with it. Was leblonn now
Mulaney trying to gather. Mulaney takes a hit into the boards,
stays with the play. Now a couple of players along
the boards trying to move the puck. It's on the
boards near side in the Hunter's end of the ice,
(01:26:40):
several players digging in for it, and it's McKnight who
got it as far as just outside the blue line
and then has to go back inside as the Mustangs
forced it back in the zone. Now the Hunters will
take it off glass send it in. That forced the
goaltender Pulp to stick out that left leg and kick
that puck onto the pads. Fourteen oh six to go.
(01:27:03):
We are even strength hockey here five on five in
a tie game. It's two to two teams traded goals
in the second. They've traded goals here in the third,
pluck up toward the blue line, grabbing it now for
the Hunters. This is a seret sebastian serette on that
puck corner for our side and behind the play. Looks
(01:27:26):
like it's going to be an interference call now, so
there's a stick on the ice, some of the fans
letting their thoughts be known. So it's going to be
an interference call and it's going to go against the Mustangs.
(01:27:49):
So two to the score. Over to the penalty box.
Now Lochlan mulaney, Hey, he was the player who stick
ended up on the ice, and he gets the interference call.
Now shorthanded, there comes Langel down the right side.
Speaker 3 (01:28:01):
He's got reshared with him.
Speaker 2 (01:28:03):
Takes the shot from the right circle and it's into
the chest protector of the goaltender Pulp. Great shorthanded chance
there for the Mustangs. We are tied to two Hunters
gaining the zone. Kalida try to four check in there,
but it's sent down the ice. Mustangs change up the
(01:28:23):
penalty killers. Seven to go in the penalty to number eleven.
Lochlan mulaney now swift from the left side, goes cross
ice all the way over there. This is Loudy Ludy
spinning off the wall. He'll dish it back to the point.
Gibbs to swift on the left side. Gibbs walks in,
takes the shot. Loudy was right there looking for deflection
(01:28:45):
in close and it goes up into the equipment of
Patterson and he'll hold it and we'll have a face off.
So for Justin Cluett, that's goal number six on the
ear for him, and that was the tying goal. So again,
(01:29:09):
the teams traded goals in the second, they've traded in
the third, and the Mustangs trying to kill a penalty
hare that long shot goes off the glass, Swift grabs
it left side, sends it right in front of the
net and only a blue sweater there and the Mustang's.
Speaker 3 (01:29:22):
Able to send it down the ice.
Speaker 2 (01:29:24):
Good defensive play there from number twenty two Parko LeBlanc.
Excuse me, that's twelve, not twenty two, McClain. Now there
comes Bellavo down that right side. Remy Bellavo drops it off,
long shot off the stick of the goaltender, Patter send
it out a play, twelve twenty six left to go
(01:29:45):
in the third period, down to thirty nine seconds left
in the power play.
Speaker 3 (01:29:50):
And.
Speaker 2 (01:29:52):
Both teams getting fresh penalty killers and power play unit
out shots on goal.
Speaker 3 (01:29:59):
If tightened up.
Speaker 2 (01:30:00):
Here, twenty seven to twenty six favor in the Mustangs
thirty nine seconds left in the penalty to lock with Mullaney.
Hunters win the face off from the right point, long shot,
deflect it off. A body goes in behind the Mustang's goal.
Mustangs will gather up that puck and flip it down
the ice and after it is Peyton Boudrou Boodrou, we'll
pick it up behind his own goal. He'll look up.
(01:30:22):
Now twenty seconds to go. In the Hunter's power play
down the left side, Remy Bellvo Bellevo gets nudged into
the wall and the Mustangs clear it out. Hunters down
the right side, trying to slide it toward the slot area. Again,
it bounces off. The skate comes back to the left point.
(01:30:43):
There's Peyton Boudrow sends it down low. This is number
twenty two. This is Martin. Martin into the corner. Penalty
is over back onto the ice is Mullany Mustangs have
killed it off. Best chance during that Mustang shorthanded opportunity
or shorthand the time was a short handed chance. Now
(01:31:03):
the Mustang's looking to break down into the zone and
after their that was Bellevo. Bellevo has both Mustangs goal
looking for a third. Martin tried to make a move,
couldn't get it by Bellevo. Bellevo now up ahead to
Bain who gets a shot away in a good right
pad save from Pulk. Good rush there and a night
set up. We're shared to Bain and to whend we go.
(01:31:25):
Now Nate Buodrow down the left side, gets bumped into
the wall. Boodrow stays on the puck, sends it down
where it's picked up by Perry. Perry will send it
up along the boards, but I'll have to chase it
as the hunter send it right back in ten fifty
to go, third period of a two to two tie.
(01:31:45):
On that puck again is Bellevo. Jacob Bellivo. He's had
himself a good game, has both goals for the Mustangs.
Now it goes up towards the red line. Martin jumped up,
caught it. Penalty coming here. Paulk is out of the
goal for the extra attacker. But as the puck goes
up along the boards in the excuse me, the Mustangs
(01:32:09):
into the ice, the whistle blows, So the penalty coming
here to the Mustangs. So they just killed the penalty
off right back to the penalty kill again for tripping.
So another power play for the Hunters as we get
(01:32:33):
close to the midway point of period three, off their
face off Gibbs over the Swift back up high the Gibbs.
He'll backhand it over to the right circle. Quick shot there,
Clue let it go, but it was blocked down jumping
on the puck. Is Khalita Kalda trying to get a
little help there from Cluet, So the penalty goes to
Logan mcclan and the Hunters tried to feed it to
(01:32:57):
Swift who was pinching in no surprise there for big
nonumber five Dawson Swift. He'll take a chance to pinch
him whenever he gets it. Clue it keeps it along
the boards on the right side. Down low is Kalida.
Good zone time here for the Hunters, but the Mustang's
doing a good job of keeping everything to the outside.
Now they'll get it and sending it down the ice,
(01:33:18):
was Kean Doyle. That'll give the Mustangs a chance to
change up the penalty killers. One tend to go in
the power play for the Hunters nine thirty five in
the third period, Cluet dishes off to the right Hunters
again looking to get set up. Now across the Gibbs,
he winds and fires. He took that one timer right
off the boards and got it in toward the side
(01:33:39):
of the goal. Now along the boards again on this
near side. Mustangs trying to just get that pluck out
of the zone. Some good hits along the board, good
physical play, clue it from the right circle, got a
shot away, and I think the goaltender Patterson just got
enough of that to deflect it in behind the net.
Now Loody feeds Gibbs. Gibbs turns in fire, sharp angles shot,
(01:34:00):
blok er save and the rebound is cleared away and
they're going to say a glove pass, so we'll have
a stoppage and a face off. And we are now
at the media timeout, so we'll step aside for a moment.
Speaker 3 (01:34:13):
We got a good one cooking here.
Speaker 2 (01:34:15):
It's the Mustangs and the Hunters tie that too late
in the third.
Speaker 3 (01:34:18):
We'll be back.
Speaker 4 (01:34:20):

Speaker 3 (01:34:41):
C A welcome back to Cole Harbor Place. So eight
point fifty nine left to go in.
Speaker 2 (01:34:47):
The third period, thirty two seconds left in the penalty
to logan McLean, and that's how much power play time
the Hunters have to work with. As swift, we'll drag
that puck into the zone. Now, Gibbs to clue it.
Has that pass go off of sticking down into the corner.
Down low is Khalita. He'll send it along the boards. Now,
(01:35:09):
quick cross ice pass. Cluet was rushing into the left
wing side. Clue it now has it along the goal line,
sends it down low Khalita. Pass out and a quick
shot goes wide of the goal. As letting it go
with swift. Now Gibbs tight ropes the blue line. His
shot goes off a stick and in behind the goal.
Mustang's trying to clear it out. Penalty is over. Out
of the box is McLean. So the Mustangs have killed
(01:35:32):
it off. We're back to five on five, down to
eight fifteen to go in the period and clue. It
just steps in just over the blue line on the
left wing side, snaps a shot on goal, and Rider
Patterson grabs it and hangs on. No problem for the
Mustang's goalie. Nice crowd on hand here at rink one
(01:35:57):
at Cole Harbor Place. It's the main rink here at
this wonderful multipurpose facility. Nice crowd and an energetic, engaged
crowd as well. So getting personnel on the ice and
we're set for the face off. In the Mustangs into
(01:36:18):
the ice to the right of their goalie, Rider Patterson.
Off the face off, Nate Boodrow walks in, takes the
shot off the block or the goaltender. Good shot by
Budrow through a crowd right off that face off with Patterson,
got the blocker on it. Now the puck over on
the far side, Nate Boodrow keeps it in at the line.
Martin now stick handling in a phone booth through traffic.
(01:36:41):
Here's Martin sending it across Reman. Beelvo was cutting in
toward the front of the goal, but the Mustangs were
able to break that up. Hunter send it right back
into the Mustangs zone. Patterson stops it in behind his
own net and the Mustangs. Now we'll bring it up
to the blue line, getting tied up. There was Doyle
as he tries to work it ahead. Now Perry lost it,
(01:37:02):
but Bouodrow and Bellevo were both in ahead of the play.
So it's whistled down on the off side and we'll
have a face off with seven thirty one to go
in the third, a two to two tie. No scoring
in the first, the team's traded goals in the second,
and again trading goals here in the third. Shots on
(01:37:23):
goal thirty twenty eight in favor of the home side.
Shots on goal is kind of seesaw back and forth,
but again where it really matters, it's two two. Now
here's Bellevo both goals for the Mustangs. Again, we've got
Jacob Bellivou on the hat trick. Watch here as McClean
sends it down deep into the Hunter's goal, Pulk stops
(01:37:45):
in behind his own net and the Hunters will work
it up the right side. Now a quick pass to Morris,
who goes right up the middle. Morris now cuts off
to the left wing side. He'll work the puck down low.
Morris meets up with Lochlan Malaney trying to get it
forward there and it comes onto the stick of the
Mustang's captain Bain Bin with a nifty little bleed pass
(01:38:08):
up to his shart. He's one on three. Gets a
little help though trailing was Doyle, but it's broken up
and Hunters will bring it right back out now with
her cart, Cameron. Herkart couldn't get any further than the
face off circle and now two, three, four make it.
Six players trying to move that puck along off the
wall and it comes right into the.
Speaker 3 (01:38:29):
Stock quick sat they star. Liam McKnight.
Speaker 2 (01:38:34):
Just jumps on that puck as there were six players
along the boards on the near side in the Mustang
zone fighting for that puck, and it popped free and
it came right toward the slot area in front of
the Mustang's goal and Patterson, the goaltender, had to watch
as leam McKnight just pounced on it and snapped it
(01:38:57):
bird down and the the home side Hunters have scored
two unanswered and they've taken a two to one lead.
So for Liam McKnight, that's his first of the season
(01:39:18):
and it has given his side a one goal lead.
So the first goal of Liam McKnight's U eighteen career
is a go ahead marker in the late stages of
period three, But here comes Langel with a nice move
around swift. Langel on the board's right side, puts it
(01:39:39):
intoward the net and pulp down to cover up. So
for the first time in this game, the South Shore
Mustangs are trailing, and it's because of Liam McKnight's first
goal of his Nova Scotia U eighteen Major Hockey League career.
(01:40:00):
So McKnight's first makes it three to two Hunters. Plenty
of time left though for the Mustangs. Six minutes to
go in the third period. Loody chops it off the
wall out toward neutral ice over Battling along the wall
now is Ogden for the Mustangs. Right in front of
the Mustang's bench. Over on the far side, a couple
(01:40:21):
of players trying to get the puck out clue it
does for the Hunters and sends it down deep into
the Mustang's zone. Khalida now lone Hunter's player down low
against three Mustangs blue sweaters, and the Mustangs will work
it up to the boards on the far side. Ogden
trying to work it ahead, but it'll go back where
the Mustangs will have to regroup once again. Nice it'll
(01:40:44):
touch pass langel I think that went off the heel
of a stick as he rolled it wide from the
right wing. Nifty little pass though off the stick of
Alex Lynch and now a penalty behind the play going
to be interference to call, so special teams to the
(01:41:06):
forefront again as heading over to the penalty box. Peyton
Budrow so the defenceman for the March and Milkow hunters
over to the penalty box. So a power play for
the Mustangs. With five fourteen to go in period three,
they're trailing for the first time in the contest, but
they've got a chance now to equalize. With the man
(01:41:28):
advantage face off to the right of the Hunter's goal,
Mustang's control off the face off, they'll send it to
the boards on that right side.
Speaker 3 (01:41:35):
Doyle sends it down low. Here's Bellevo.
Speaker 2 (01:41:37):
Bellevo has it out, trying to get in tight hopped
over bainstick comes back to McDonald just inside the blue line.
Speaker 3 (01:41:44):
Mustangs setting up.
Speaker 2 (01:41:45):
Now McDonald tight ropes along the blue line, dishes off
to the wall right side, Doyle cross ice rushing in
with it there and that was Parker LeBlanc shot from
the right side, quick shot there off the stick of Doyle,
and it was stopped in front and the Hunters able
to clear one twenty to go.
Speaker 3 (01:42:04):
In the power play.
Speaker 2 (01:42:05):
For the Mustangs, here comes you and McDonald couldn't get
inside the blue line, and the Hunters will send it
back toward the red line. Now Bellevo jumps on that
puck again. Bellevo's had himself a good game. Takes a
check into the boards and the puck rolling toward the
blue line and just out gathered up there by Captain
Carter bain Baine, turning at the red line, weaving into
(01:42:27):
the zone, steps around one man.
Speaker 3 (01:42:29):
Bain now has.
Speaker 2 (01:42:31):
It along the boards, rolls it over to the other side,
meeting it over there is Parker Leblac leabla over to
bain Bain touches it.
Speaker 3 (01:42:38):
McDonald has it now.
Speaker 2 (01:42:39):
Bane from the slot takes a shot and that one
off the stick of Nate Boodreau. That stung him, but
he hangs in there. Good pressure here by the Mustangs.
Thirty five seconds ago in the power play, sharp bangle
shot puck comes out the other side and able to
clear it his Cluett as the Mustangs had some great
pressure on but couldn't get it in behind the goaltender pulk,
(01:43:01):
and it remains three to two lead for the Hunters.
Speaker 3 (01:43:04):
Eighteen seconds to go.
Speaker 2 (01:43:05):
In the power play, Langel gains the zone, has Ogden
just behind him. Langel swoops in behind the net. Perry
is out in front, turning and firing the puck just
off the goaltender and off the glass. Now Chew into
his own zone, slides it across. Just a couple of
seconds left and out of the penalty box comes Peyton
Woodrow and we're back to five skaters side with three
(01:43:28):
minutes ten seconds to go. I'll keep an eye on
the goaltender Patterson to see when the Mustangs decide to
pull their goaltender for the extra skater. Shots on goal.
Now even up at thirty one apiece, three zero three
to go, third period of play, so the South Shore
(01:43:49):
Mustangs and coach Keegan Watt call time out to talk
it over here. Three two is your score. Liam McKnight,
with his first of his U eighteen career, has given
the Marchi Milkow Hunters a one goal lead in the
(01:44:10):
late stages. Of this third period, and now with time
winding down, the Mustangs of call timeout. They want to
talk it over and I'm sure they're going to talk
about what they want to do on the faceoff, but
also how they want to maneuver around getting goaltender Ryder
(01:44:30):
Patterson to the bench for that extra attack or when
that's going to happen. It's a tricky thing. It might
sound like it's so simple. You just pull your goaltender
and the way you go, well, no, so a little
bit of a riverboat gambler here, Keegan wat the coach
of the Mustangs, pulling the goaltender with the face off
(01:44:51):
in the Hunters zone, so Rioder Patterson.
Speaker 3 (01:44:54):
To the bench.
Speaker 2 (01:44:55):
Six skaters for the Mustangs to five and the faceoff
in the hunt zone to the left of Noah Pulk.
Captain Bainen on the draw against kluetklu It wins the
face off.
Speaker 3 (01:45:07):
Chuu keeps it in at the blue line, hill ringing
in around the boards.
Speaker 2 (01:45:11):
Six skaters to five with the Mustangs dead empty, they're
looking for the equalizer. All hands on deck for the Mustangs.
Chew keeps it in at the right point, sends it
in behind the goal. Here's kid Romaine the affiliates seeing
important minutes here late in this game, Chew slides it
over to the left side pack Rashard d Stores.
Speaker 6 (01:45:32):
Is the hat trick goal for Jacob Bellovo and it comes.
Speaker 3 (01:45:38):
With the net empty and the extra attacker on with
two thirty seven a goal.
Speaker 2 (01:45:44):
It's a hat trick goal for that man number twenty one,
Jacob Bellavo. Well, he's got an interesting hat trick. He's
got an even strength goal, a power play goal, and
a goal with an empty extra attacker. So his fifth
(01:46:05):
of the year. Third of the game comes with us
two thirty seven to go and we are tied. Well,
the coach Keegan Watt and the Mustangs decide to pull
the goalie with the face off in the Hunter's zone,
and it pays off as Jacob Bellevo scores the equalizer
(01:46:30):
for his hat trick goal.
Speaker 3 (01:46:31):
Now to thirteen to.
Speaker 6 (01:46:33):
Go, put right if a day score the Hunter's answer
right back. It's Cameron Erkkart And that time thirteen was
certainly lucky for the March and Milk Co Hunters.
Speaker 2 (01:46:48):
And it didn't seem to be a whole lot of
anything happening. It was just an innocent looking play right
in front of the Mustangs.
Speaker 3 (01:46:56):
Goal, but Erkhart jams it in and.
Speaker 2 (01:47:01):
Just seconds after the dramatic tying goal from Jacob Bellivo,
Cameron Erkart has the goal ahead goal once again. Cameron
Erkhart his second goal of the season and it has
once again given the Hunters the lead.
Speaker 3 (01:47:24):
Two to five to go.
Speaker 2 (01:47:29):
So Cameron Erkhart with his second of the year, first
of the game, and it's once again a one goal
lead for the March and Milk Co Hunters on home.
I so now Coach Keegan Watt and the Southstore Mustangs
have to get back into that mindset of Okay, it's late,
we're trailing by a goal. We need to get Patterson
(01:47:51):
out of the goal for the extra attacker. So I
guess if you the SouthShore Mustangs recent memory, as in
a minute or so Ago tells you that you can
score with your net empty and the extra attack are on.
But we'll see what transpires here face off on the
far side, just outside the Mustang's end of the ice,
(01:48:13):
Doyle gets tossed out of the circle for the Mustangs.
Captain Bain will settle in big face off here against
Cluet Scramble drawed, Looty chops it down into the Mustang zone.
Clue will get there first for the Hunters. Now comes
along the boards. Here's remember twenty one Bellavo sending it out.
(01:48:35):
Bellevo would dearly love to score his fourth, but the
Hunters will have something to.
Speaker 3 (01:48:40):
Say about that.
Speaker 2 (01:48:41):
With a minute and twenty five to go, play still
in the Mustang zone, so they can't get the gold out.
Now that's all the way down the ice, no icing
Patterson stays in the goal, Boodro controls it, chips it
up towards Clue. Clue it now stays on that puck,
feeds it over towards Nate Bundrow. He was in the
(01:49:01):
slot but got tied up. Good defensive play there from
the Mustangs, including their captain Carter Bain. One minute to
go in this third period and Bellevo into the zone
for the Hunter's Bellevo lets a shot go and sends
it wide to the net. But for the Hunters, this
is where they want the puck down in the Mustang zone.
Mustang's got to find a way to get control, get
(01:49:22):
the puck out and get Patterson to the bench. But
the Hunter's doing a good job for check and keeping
it in. There's Martin back to the right point. They'll
just loft it in behind the net. Mustang's desperately trying
to get that puck out of the zone. Time continues
to melt off, the clock too in the corner being
watched closely there Braden Martin and on the fore check
(01:49:42):
now gets some help from his teammate Remy Bellovo. Twenty
two seconds to go. The Mustangs trying to clear it out.
They can't get it out of their zone. Hunter's like
a wet blanket now keeping that puck hemmed in the zone.
Speaker 3 (01:49:56):
Now down to eleven seconds to go.
Speaker 2 (01:49:58):
Great job here by the the Hunters late in this
game to keep the Mustangs hemmed in their own zone
despite the best efforts of the South Shore Mustangs. So
now just seven point eight seconds left and the face
off will be on the fur faceoff dot outside the
Mustang zone. Well, it'll take some kind of major I'll
(01:50:24):
no as I say that. Now the officials are bringing
the face off inside the Mustang zone.
Speaker 3 (01:50:29):
So now a very tall hill to climb here.
Speaker 2 (01:50:33):
Face off to the left of the goaltender Patterson off
the face off, the puck sent down right into the crease,
paulp just taps it over into the corner and as
the Hunters clear it out, the horn sounds and the
Merch and Milco Hunters, who trailed or were tied for
much of this game, take the lead. Late saw the
(01:50:56):
Mustangs come back to equalize with the Mustangs get empty,
but then just seconds after the Mustangs equalized three to three,
they answered right back with Cameron Urkhart getting his second
of the year with just mirror moments left, and that
ends up being the eventual game winner. As an excellent
(01:51:17):
game here tonight, very entertaining affair put on between the visitors,
the SouthShore Mustangs and the home side March and Milco Hunters,
and when it was all said and done, it was
a third period push from the Hunters that seals the deal.
I'm sure it's disappointing for head coach Keegan Watt and
(01:51:38):
the Mustangs, but they should hold their heads up. They
played a really good road game and as I say,
for the majority of it were either tied or in
the lead. But it's a third period success from the
March Milkow Hunters that makes the difference, and it was
big goals. Liam McKnight made it three to two at
one point his first ever Nova Scoti eighteen goal. The
(01:52:02):
hat trick man himself, Jacob Bellivo, tied it at three,
but then seconds later, off a fight along the boards,
the pot came in toward the front of the net
and lucky thirteen for the Hunter's Cameron Urkhart pushed it
in behind the goaltender Ryder Patterson and Cameron Erkart does
indeed get the game winning goal and the March and
(01:52:22):
Milk Coole Hunters get their second victory of the year
over the South Shore Mustangs. Want to thank you very

communities with more than just food. Through partnerships, volunteers, and
heartfelt generosity. They've helped thousands of Nova Scotia facing food
and security. Every donation, every box packed, every shared meal
