Speaker 1 (00:03):
The following Nova Scotia U eighteen Major Hockey League game
is proudly presented by Firm Foundation Media.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Let's head inside the rink.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
Good evening and welcome to the Halifax Forum, the historic
Halifax Forum for tonight's Nova Scotia U eighteen Major Hockey
League game on the FFM Radio Network. I'm Scott Squire's
glad to have you along a special night here. It's
part of the Hockey Fights Cancer events that take place
all across the hockey world now and tonight's game is
(00:35):
a Hockey Fights Cancer game, a fundraiser put on by
the Halifax Max. They're wearing their Hockey Fights Cancer special
pink jerseys. They're taking on the visitors, the Valley Wildcats.
A nice moment and a nice ceremony prior to O
Canada honoring Carter Mera. Carter a sixteen year old hockey
(00:57):
player from the local area who has been battling cancer.
He rang the bell a few months ago to signify
the end of his cancer treatments, but his battle continues.
They talked about just how positive he's been. So a
great night, Hockey Fights Cancer Night honoring Carter Meyer, and
we are underway. The Max wearing those pink jerseys, skating
(01:19):
my left to right here as I'm sitting at center ice,
just above center ice, and the Valley Wildcats skating my
right to left wearing their white jerseys with the red,
black and other red trim on their kits. So it's
the pink clad Hockey fights Cancer night, Halifax Max taking
on the Valley Wildcats. Puck down in the Valley end
(01:40):
of the ice. Halifax trying to track that puck, but
Valley will come away long outlet pass there touched forward
by Lucas Arnold, and the Max will send it right
back in Bottomley takes a big hittal on the boards
as Arnold stepped into his man. Now the Wildcats will
watch it going behind their own goal chasing and after
there was liver for the Max. This Max team coming
(02:04):
off a Monktonian victory recently. They have a perfect sixteen
to oh record so far in the Nova Scotia, a
teen major hockey league, good for thirty two points, leading
the way top of the table in the league. That
puck still in the Wildcats zone, they'll just flip it
out and the Max will give Chase back for it
is Gavin Sudds SuDS being watched closely there by Connolly
(02:27):
for the Wildcats. Now trying to turn with the puck
in his own zone was Guinness. He got upended. Play
carries on. Wildcats have it at the right point, long
shot Lowell on the ice. Starting goaltender Chandler Bell makes
the same bell getting to start for the Max, and
it's Maddix Newman for the Wildcats. We'll get to their
numbers in just a little bit. Play just underway here
(02:50):
a little over a minute and a half off the
clock in period one, Max buzzing around there was a
chance as a shot came from a sharpango river. Welch
it go. So I mentioned Chandler Bell getting the stare
at for the Halifax Max. He comes into tonight's game
with an eight to oh record and a sparkling one
point twenty five goals against and a very stingy nine
(03:12):
forty six save percentage. At the other end, Maddix Newman
pretty good record as well, eight and four on the
year for the young goaltender. Wearing number twenty nine, he's
got a two point eight two goals against and a
nine oh six eight percentage. So Newman wears twenty nine,
Bell wearing thirty three. That's your goaltending match up here tonight,
and the play again down into the Wildcat zone. This
(03:34):
Halifax Max teams so aggressive on the puck. They don't
give their opponents much time in space. They're able to
roll four lines and just come at you in waves.
Wildcat's now with Kerrigan long pass across, trying to connect
there with Fleming. Right idea, but Fleming couldn't settle the puck.
Max will grab it in their own zone. They'll work
it up the left side, stopping with it there. Carter
(03:55):
Odell O'Dell takes a bump and the puck goes down
into the near corner. Sudds tried to move it along.
SuDS on it again. He'll float it over there to
the fireside to Odell. O'Dell had his pocket picked. Valley
tried to work with that puck. Nolan Fletcher thought about
hating toward the goal. He takes it into the corner.
Now takes a nudge and the puck comes over into
(04:15):
this near side. Good pace, good action here. With almost
three minutes played in this opening period, Glad to have
you along on this FFM Radio broadcast. Nova Scotia U
eighteen Major Hockey League action. As we work our way
towards the end of December, hard to believe less than
a month until Christmas. Where does the time go? My friends?
(04:36):
As my dear departed mother used to say, time waits
for no one ever so true. Now working with it,
good chance there as Jesse Sinclair came in with that puck. Sinclaire,
where's the captain c for this Wildcats team? And he's
also the leading point getter on this Wildcat squad eleven goals,
(04:58):
sixteen assists, twenty seven points through twenty one games for
the captain of the Wildcats, Jesse Sinclair. Off the face
off in the magzone, Max will get it up to
the blue line. Puck just gently pops down into neutral
ice and the Wildcats will pick it up there turning
in front of his own goal. That's Isaac Conley. He
gets a little pass up ahead, intercepted though by Blake Bootlair.
(05:20):
Bootlair slides it across to his defensive partner and the
Max will skate it up the left side. Good head
of steam there from Joe Breen as he sends it
down into the Wildcats zone. Just a great pace of
this one a little over three and a half minutes
in both these teams have a lot of jump in
their step. I know it's early, but hopefully it's a
sign of things to come here with this pace. Early on,
(05:42):
puck comes toward the slot area and the Wildcats able
to clear it away, sliding it down into the left
corner his hood as he got into the Mazone now
wanted to puck for the Wildcats is Sam Stoddard. He
tried to work it back up high, but it's intercepted
by Haverstock and he flips it up into neutral ice
and that puck chipped forward off the stick of Stardard
(06:04):
and he flips it up into the Halifax Max bench,
which is just to my left. I'm actually on the
side of the Halifax Forum that the time keeping bench
and the max bench is on here at the Halifax
f on this venerable old building. The player's bench is
on opposite sides of the ice. So the Wildcat's over
(06:25):
on the other side, and that face off just to
my right here outside the Wildcats zone, and they'll have
to do it again. Shear in on the face off
for the Max and it's Carrigan for the Wildcats. Scramble
draw and it's controlled by Handley for the Wildcats and
Valley we'll try to work it out of his zone.
(06:47):
Puck got by Betts and the Max will gain control.
Quick pass trying to connect with Bottomley, too far for
him and it's picked up by seventy seven Max Hanley
Max and except that though there's a play right in front,
they score a quick turnover as the Wildcats are trying
to clear it out of the zone and the puck
(07:09):
was turned over again underneath the tenacious for check up
the Halifax Max and the puck ended up coming right
in front of the goal and it's Evan Liver who
gets the first goal of the game and the Max lead.
It won nothing for Liver. He gets the opening goal
(07:31):
of the game and his twelfth of the season, so
goal number twelve for Liver and the Max haven't won
nothing lead. So again the Wildcats look to be in
good shape and thought that they could get out of
their own zone. But quickly on the puck were the Max.
(07:52):
They forced the turnover gotten right in front and in
the blue ice right on the doorstep was live and
he just made a nice move right and tight behind
the goaltender Newman and it's won nothing. Max, coming up
on five minutes played here in this opening period of play,
Max leading it won nothing on home ice, first game
here at the Foreman. Quite some time for the Max.
(08:14):
They played a few road games and as many teams were,
they were away up in Moncton for a long stretch
playing at the Monctonian again if you're just joining us,
the Monctonian a tournament win for the Max, first time
they've won the Monctonian in a few years. Talking to
head coach of the Max, Tim Boyce before the game,
and he was pretty pleased with that Monctonian outcome. Puck
(08:36):
down into the corner in the Max zone, chasing after it,
there was Hood he couldn't get control of it and
Sudds will turn in behind his own goal for the Max.
Max so relentless on that puck. It's flipped up intoward
the red line. Reaching for it, there was Wilson. Jeremy
(08:57):
Wilson plays defense wearing number two twelve for the Wildcats.
Both teams making some changes here now as the Max
will move the puck in their own zone, quick pass
up ahead as Kreelman try to feed one of his teammates,
but it goes by everybody down the length of the
ice and we'll have an icing call. With exactly six
(09:18):
minutes played here in the opening period of play, Max
leading at won nothing on the strength of that Evan
Liverer goal. So the live goal making it one nothing
face off will be in the MAX zone to the
left of Chandler Bell. Great goaltending tandem for this Halifax
(09:43):
Max team, Chandler Bell and of course Kale Campbell, who
if you've been following the Max at all, you know
that Kale Campbell has quite a wind streak going in
tournament play. He had a great run up at the
Ottawa Centers UA Team tournament a while back, and had
a great run at the Monk t as well. But again,
just a great tandem in goal for this Max team.
(10:04):
A good problem for head coach Tim Boyce and the
rest of the Max coaching staff to have thirteen forty
to go in this opening period of play in center Rice.
Now Carrigan works it down to that right side, charging
it after it there was Morgan fleming for the Wildcats,
but Sudds will back handed to Kreelman in behind his
own goal. Down come to Max again trying to get
(10:28):
it on that puck there was love it and the
Wildcats will gather up in their own zone making some
smooth moves there. This is Fleming Morgan. Fleming gets the
puck down low. He took a nudge and the puck
came off of his stick and the Max will try
to move it out. Now. Breen will go in behind
his own goal with it, and the puck comes right
back to Breen. Breen quick pass up onto the stick
(10:52):
of Nate McKay and that ends up going right into
the crease and Bell had to be sharp and get
a touch on that pucket turn over there came into
the high slot. Jesse Sinclair had a great chance and
put it just wide of the goal. As again similar
to what happened on the Max goal, where the Wildcats
look to be okay getting out of their zone and
then the puck got turned over and the Max scored.
(11:15):
In that last sequence, the Max looked to be in
control getting the puck out of their own zone and
then it just bounced around, turned over and Jesse Sinclair
had a great chance from about sixteen feet out and
just put it wide. Best chance of the game for
the Wildcats. Now puck in neutral ice again, Sinclair back
(11:36):
hands it down in behind the Max goal. Sinclair will
give Chase getting their first was Guinnish for the Max.
Loose puck gathered up now sending it down into the
zone is Nate McKay and that goes by everybody. So
that'll be a nice and call and it'll bring the
face off down once again into the Halifax Max. Ender
(11:57):
the ice posting the shots on goal here, so I
can't update you on that, but I can tell you
that there's twelve twenty two left to go in the
opening period of this Hockey Fights Cancer Game Special Night here,
a home game for the Halifax Max. There's a roughly setup.
As the puck was saucered into the slot, Isaac Connelly
(12:18):
hammered it just want another chance just off to the
side of the goal putting it wide was Eric Hanley.
So the Wildcats buzzing there on that last shift, a
couple of great chances in and around the Halifax Max goal.
Conley was there, had a chance, Isaac Conley and then
(12:38):
Eric Hanley. Score remains one nothing though for the Halifax Max.
Face off in the MA zone to the right of
Chandler Bell. Hunter hood in on the draw and he
wins it cleanly as it goes high into the air.
Reaching for it, there was Shearer and the play whistle down.
(13:01):
I'm not sure. I think it might have been touched
with a high stick in the mazone, so that just
took a few seconds off the clock. Face off comes
outside the mazone at the face off dot just below
my broadcast positioneer on the near side off the face
off puck goes to the wall right in front of
(13:21):
the Max bench and the puck sent down. Maxwell grab
it now with SuDS. SuDS gets it a little ways
past the red line and the Wildcats push it right
back in. Isaac Conley gets the puck into the maxone.
Took a little nudge into the boards worth that puck.
Now this is Max Hanley. Hanley fires it in rising
(13:42):
shot up into the glove of Chandler Bell and he
blocked it down and we'll have another face off now
down to eleven thirty five to go, and it looks
like we've got a penalty interference. So with eleven thirty
five to go in period number one and our first
power play goes to the Valley Wildcats and it's Riley Kreelman,
(14:04):
the captain of the Max heading over to the penalty
box for interference. So the Wildcats to the power play here,
looking to equalize. Puck will go all the way down
to the Wildcat zone. Picking it up there is Sinclair,
the leading scorer for the Wildcats team, and the captain
watches now as his mates will work it down the
(14:27):
ice down the right side trying to bull ahead was
Jacob Seaman. He turned the puck over though, but the
Wildcats keep it in. Sinclair dishes off to the right circle.
Puck Lowell on the ice goes in behind the Max goal.
Wildcats on the power play here won twenty five to
go in the man advantage for Valley and that clearing
attempt knocked down with a high stick. So we'll have
(14:50):
another stop agenda face off as we approach the midway
point of period number one. Just to reminder something new
that the Nova Scotia EIGHTE Hockey League has implemented this
year media timeouts. So the first whistle after the ten
minute mark, there'll be a stoppage and a sixty second
media timeout off the face off now coming in with
(15:13):
his love it busting down that right side, love it
in against three Wildcats defenders and the Wildcats able to
take the puck. Now Connley in neutral ice for the Wildcats,
sends it down into the magzone over to the fire
side Wildcats. One minute to go in the power play.
Here's Hood taking a shot as he was fed the
(15:34):
puck and he walked in from about thirty two feet
and whistled it just wide of the goal to the
glove side of Bell. There's a shot from the right
wing side. Now is letting it rip. There was Morgan
Fleming good pressure here on this power play. Fleming gets
it over the Hood put from the right circle, try
to feed it through it when off a skat and
into the corner on that far side. Jumping on the
puck again. Now Fleming gets it back to Bets at
(15:56):
the point from the right side.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
They score.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
Morgan Fleming took the little feed to the right circle
and rips a shot past Chandler Bell and it's a
power play goal. And the Valley Wildcats have equalized, taking
advantage of the man advantage. So Morgan Fleming rips it
(16:21):
his fourteenth of the year. It's a power play goal
and the Wildcats have tied it up, so the Wildcats
back on even terms here on the strength of the
fourteenth goal of the season, four number seventy two Morgan Fleming.
(16:48):
So special teams pays off for the Wildcats and they
had some good pressure going and they're rewarded with that
Morgan Fleming goal. Nine to forty three to go. Wildcats
back looking for more after equalizing but getting it out
as Sam Fleming. Fleming takes a check and then as
the puck goes into the Wildcats zone, Carter Sullivan took
(17:09):
a big hit and I think that's going to draw
a penalty. We'll have to wait and see here. Well,
maybe it's just a stoppage. I thought there might have
been a penalty as there was a really big collision.
So this should be now the media timeout. We'll see
nine thirty to go. That's the first whistle after the
(17:29):
ten minute mark and the referee just conferring now just
to be sure. So it is the media timeout, so
we'll step aside. Nine thirty to go. It's Hockey Fights
Cancer Night at the Halifax Forum. The Homeside Halifax Max
and the Visiting Valley Wildcats tied one to one. We'll
(17:51):
be back.
Speaker 4 (17:53):

Speaker 3 (18:42):
A welcome back to the Halifax Forum nine thirty to
go face off just outside the Wildcat zone one cleanly
by day at Max and they'll send it down into
the wildcats under the ice. Max opened up the storing
and then the wildcats just a moment ago equalize on
the power play for one to one here in period one,
(19:03):
want to remind you stick around. In the first intermission,
head coach Tim Boyce from the Halifax Max will join
us here. Down to nine oh five to go. Puck
bounces up into the air and the Wildcats will just
take it down and behind their own goal and then
flip it down the length of the ice and that'll
(19:26):
be a nicing call. So down to eight point fifty
one left to play here at the Halifax Form. Glad
to have you along on this FFM radio broadcast. How's
your holiday and Christmas shopping going, friends, Mine's pretty good.
If I had to put a Percentageohn and I say
about sixty percent done. My tree is up, lights are up.
(19:50):
I love the holiday season. I love Christmas. It's my
favorite time of year. So off the draw, puck will
pop up into neutral ice, popping at it. There was
number seventeen for the Wildcat's Braiden Carrigan. Kerrigan trying to
find the puck in his skates, couldn't find it now
and the Max will try to grab it into the
(20:10):
Wildcat's zone. Puck along the boards and the Wildcats into
the ice. The two seventeens come together. Carrigan for the Wildcats.
Cooper Strong for the Max. Wildcats. Send it in the
middle of the ice. Now it'll be down the left side.
Bets tried to get that puck around Blake Blootleer. Couldn't though.
Here's a chance as jumping on a loose puck was
(20:31):
Eric Hanley and he cut toward the middle of the ice,
got a great shot on goal, but Chandler Bell came
out top of his crease square to the shooter and
makes a good say. But the puck ended up on
Eric Handley's stick and he got it away quickly. So
a good play there by Handley converting that puck on
his stick into a shot on goal. Pack It comes
(20:56):
now to the other Handley on this team. He've got
Max wearing seventy seven, Eric wearing eighty eight. It's your
hand Lee duo puck still in the mazone. Guinish slides
it over there. The logan tree win and the puck
up to the red line. Trying to get to that
puck there was Uzachuku. He couldn't quite reach it, and
(21:18):
the Max will try again. That puck is sent all
the way down the end of the Wildcat zone. Who's
a Chuck who lays the body into his man and
the puck popped right in front of the Wildcat's goal,
but Newman was able to sweep it away. Now the
puck meanders down into the Max into the ice, quick
pass into the middle for us a chuku. He tried
(21:39):
to spring his teammate down the left wing side as
he saw Haverstock over there, and then Haverstock, chasing the puck,
took a nudge. Puck comes into the slot area in
front of the Wildcat's zone and it's cleared away. Now
making a charge is Morgan Fleming. He's the Wildcat's goal scorer.
He sends it deep into the mazone goes in and
Fleming lays a little nudge there on gas Sudds. Sudds
(22:03):
onto that puck, puts it up ahead for Nate McKay
and now Haverstock little touch pass leaves it there. Now
McKay has it at the red line, he'll snap it
down into the Wildcats zone. Newman stops it in behind
his own goal and leaves it there for a teammate.
Now the puck is loose and it goes up toward
the red line. Now into the Max zone, where the
(22:25):
Max will try to clear it out, but that ended
up hitting Nolan Fletcher and now scrambling players reaching for it.
There was Morgan Fleming. Now the puck go over on
the far side, Nolan Fletcher. Excuse me, that's the other
number eight, Carter Sullivan eight for the Max, not for
the Wildcats. Sullivan stepped into his man. But it's Fleming
(22:46):
once again. Morgan Fleming having a strong opening period here
for the Valley Wildcats. This one to one tie between
the Wildcats and the Max. Six ten to go in
this opening period. A great crowd on hand here for
this special Wednesday Night Hockey Fights Cancer game. Now Fletcher
forces the turnover. Fletcher from the right circle, it's in front,
(23:09):
trying to slide it over there, reaching for it. That
was Nate Betts. Couldn't quite settle it. But again Wildcat's
coming close. Entertaining first period going here with five forty
six to go, Wildcat's on the puck again. Yell us
flip it down into the magzone. That was Jacob Seaman
puck into the corner down low on this near side
(23:30):
and the Max end of the ice. Good pressure there
coming from the Wildcats. Bets chases that puck around, comes
into the middle of the ice and it's lofted right
back into the Mac zone by Jacob Semen. Now Blake
Bootleer him behind his own goal, takes a look sends
it up ice. Wilson interceps and then Wilson takes a
(23:51):
hit from Bottomly and Wilson ended up hitting the lines person.
Everybody okay on that, and the puck is sent down
into the Wildcats zone by Will Shearer, meaning the puck
down low was Wilson in the Wildcats into the ice.
Both teams full of energy here as we have under
five minutes to go in period one of a one
to one tie. Great action here on a Wednesday night
(24:14):
at the Halifax Forum. There's Breen gets it over quick shot,
letting it go from the right circle was Will Share
as he took the nice cross ice pass from Joe
Breen who was at the left point, sent to cross
ice and Sharer got a good shot away. Now Bottomly
on the fore check in behind the goal. MJ. Bottomley
goes back to the left point. Here's Breen again. Guinness
(24:37):
just jumped on the ice and the Wildcats forced to
turnover up towards center ice when Connley Isaac Connelly couldn't
get it though, bottomly right back the other way, bottomly
leans into a shot, try to use the defenseman as
a screen and it didn't quite work. Wilson was back
there with Breen and we've got a stoppage now, so
(24:57):
four point fifteen to go. In a fast and furious
opening twenty minutes, Max opened up the scoring Evan Liver
with his twelfth of the year, and then a little
while later, replying on the power play was Morgan Fleming
his fourteenth of the season. Four point fifteen to go,
(25:18):
face off in the Wildcat zone to the left of
their goaltender, Newman off the draw, a bit of a
scramble and it's picked up by Morgan Fleming. Morgan Fleming,
seems we've been all over the ice so far in
this period. There's a nice cross ice pass as Hood
sent it across. Now into the high slot again, puck
pop loose for a second and the Max guinnish, we'll
(25:38):
get it up the left side into the Wildcats over
a one time shot hammered just wide of the goal.
Goods set up there onto the stick of love it
and he whistled it wide down to three forty three
to go. Hope you're enjoying this one wherever you're tuned
in and listening here on the FFM or radio network.
(26:00):
Guinnish now spinning in his own zone, weaving his way
up to the red line. Now into the Wildcats zone.
Guinnish Coast to Coast a low shot in a great
pad save from the goaltender Newman as Ghinnish as he
likes to do. The defenseman rushed it when Coast to
Coast got a great loa shot away and Newman flashed
out the left pad down to three point thirteen to go.
(26:21):
Puck down low in the corner. Max En a pile
up down there, several players trying to move the puck,
and the Wildcats come out with a fletcher try to
feed it back to the point. Wildcats controlling even strength
hockey here five on five pucked down low again, Sudd's
leaning into his man and then it's picked up onto
the stick of Nate McKay and he'll send his teammates
(26:43):
down the ice haverstock into the Wildcats zone. But again
good aggressive fore check by the Wildcats forced to turnover
and they bring it right back down the ice trying
to get it in front there as amoson Clair was
waiting for it in a long shot floated in. And
now Arnold and Huzachuku having words after the whistle. They're
(27:04):
exchanging pleasantries. They'll talk things over the lines. People will
get in the way, separate the two and things will
calm down. Here with two thirty five to go and
an ultra entertaining first period of play, glad to have
you with us. And if you're listening, make sure you
give a follow to the FFM Media Radio Network on Mixler.
(27:29):
That's the broadcast network that we use. Think of Mixler
as YouTube for audio pucked now picked up by Creelman.
Creelman will zip into the zone, takes a shot off
the glove of their goaltender and Newman three sixty spin
around as he got a piece of the initial shot
(27:49):
and somehow kept it out a great Russia, great shot,
and again the goaltender, Newman got a piece of that
Kreelman blast off. The glove had popped up into the air.
It looked like it was gonna trickle in behind him,
but somehow he did a three sixty spin around. A
lah Carly Jackson, if you know her, she's a great goaltender,
(28:13):
plays in the PWHL. She loves to do the three
sixty spin around in warm ups, and Newman did it
there and kept the puck out. One forty four to go,
still one one. Now the Max into the zone again,
looking to get something going here with just one thirty
five to go, Wildcats will grab it and send it
up into neutral ice. Max will backpedal into their own zone.
(28:36):
Bootler slides it over to his partner, gets it right
back Blake. Butler makes a nice move. These Max defensemen
loved to rush the puck. Bootler throws it down in
behind the gold. Newman comes out, whistles it around the boards.
Long shot from the right point into the pads of Newman,
and another quick shot from the goal line. Liver let
it go and again Newman took it off the pads.
(28:58):
One five to go in this period. Max with a
little bit of late pressure here and they'll play whistled
down and glove pass is the call. But again they're
not posting shots on goal. Both goalturners have been good,
but I think certainly the higher quality chances have come
(29:19):
from the Halifax Max and Maddox. Newman he's been great
and that play of moments ago off that Creelman shot
from the left point that Newman bobbled and then did
a Spinnerama, So somehow he and his teammates kept that
puck out. What a dynamic play that was off the
face off. Now Max will control from the red line,
(29:41):
sending it down low is Logan tree Win. Tree Win
will be seeing some action this weekend with the Halifax Mooseheads.
He's getting the call up and we'll make the trip
over to Newfoundland and Labrador to take on the Newfoundland regiment.
So exciting times for Logan tree Win this weekend for sure.
But tonight he's here patrolling the blue line for the Max.
(30:02):
Here the chet right in front Tech tech twe they
star and it's Jack's Ginnish on the receiving end of
that pretty passing play. Not a whole lot that the
goaltender Newman could do again, the Max just tossing it
around like the Harlem Globetrotters do with a basketball, but
(30:25):
the Max use a puck and it's Jack's Guinish with
a little six foot putt the tap in for the
goal and with just thirty four seconds to go in
the period, Guinnish has given the Max the lead off
the face off back looking for more as Sam Fleming
(30:47):
walked in took a shot, so for Guinnish goal number
seven on the air point number twenty five. He's got
the second most points on this MAX club. And he's
a defenseman, but he's an active one. Got a lot
of offensive upside does number twenty one jacks Ginnish. So
(31:09):
his goal makes it two to one, and again with
just twenty nine seconds to go, the goal from Guinnish
as the Max back into the lead. Now with just
twenty seconds left, loose puckets center ice and the Wildcats
will pick it up trying to get into the zone.
There was Conley, but it's turned back the other way.
(31:31):
Here's Fleming coming in with the puck. Fleming gets tied
up there just five seconds to go, Fleming reaching for
that puck. Now there's a pile up in the corner
down below the goal line of the Wildcats, and as
both teams try to dislodge the puck off the wall,
the horn sounds and the period comes to a close.
So when entertaining first period of play again, they don't
(31:52):
post the shots on goal, but I can tell you
two for the Max, one for the Wildcats, and after
twenty minutes way this special Wednesday Night edition of Nova
Scotia UA team Major Hockey League catch It's two to
one Max on Hockey Fights Cancer Night. We'll step aside.
Don't go too far though, I'll have a chat with

League on FFM Radio. Let's get back to the rink.
Speaker 3 (33:39):
Welcome back to the Halifax foum. After twenty minutes of play,
the home side Halifax Max lead the visiting Valley Wildcats
two one grey. Please to be joined by the head
coach of the Halifax Max. I don't want to make
you feel old, Tim, but long time head coach of
the Max, Tim your thoughts on that first twenty credit value.
Speaker 6 (33:57):
You know they came out higher. We're for checking higher
on our had us on our heels a little bit,
and you know we just got to find another level.
I think we had an emotional game there Sunday and
just we're a little slow out of the gates.
Speaker 3 (34:10):
Yeah, it has been a very fast paced first period,
no question about it. What will the message from the
coaching staff to the boys b or do you even
need to say anything?
Speaker 6 (34:19):
Yeah, we're just gonna stop cutting the ice in half.
I think we only made them come half off the
length of the ice first period. We had a lot
of bad turnovers. We're not moving our feet and just
putting bucks behind them. Get the get the poor check going.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
Whenever I call games with this club, I always comment
how tenacious this team is, how hard you guys are
on the puck, and how you can roll four lines.
You're undefeated on the season, sixteen and zero. As you
break it all down, what would you say have been
one or two real main reasons to the team's success
so far.
Speaker 6 (34:51):
We just have good kids that are buying into what
we're trying to preach here. And you know, it takes
everybody to win at this level. You can't play three
and forty and expect to have success. So you know,
we're just we're putting trust in the in the players
and they're going out and doing it on the ice.
Speaker 3 (35:08):
And how about trusting your goaltending tandem of Chandler Bell
and Kale Campbell undefeated. Maybe just a word or two
about those two guys.
Speaker 6 (35:18):
Yeah, listen, Uh, obviously I've had Chandler for three years now. Uh,
one of the hardest workers in practice, just a real
good kid.
Speaker 3 (35:26):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (35:26):
You know, Kale's come in and played exceptionally well as
as well. And uh, you know, he's starting to learn
practice habits and details and what it what it takes
in practice, and he's been He's been really good for
us as well. So it's always good to have two
goalies that you can count on. And you mentioned Kale Campbell.
He's on quite a tournament streak. He had a great
tournament up in Ottawa at the Senator's U eighteen tournament,
(35:48):
had a great Monktonian. Does he even know about this
tournament streak that he's got going, tim And what kind
of things do you say to about it? I don't
talk to goalies, to be honestly, I leave that to
the goalie coaches that we have. We got Liam Oxsner here,
he's really good. But yeah, Kale said to me like
he loves tournament style hockey. And you know, I've been
coaching this level seventeen years. I've never seen anything like that.
Speaker 3 (36:10):
Mention those tournaments, I do want to talk a bit
about them because the Max showed so well for yourselves obviously,
but also for the Nova Scotia You eighteen Major Hockey League,
a silver high spinish ever at the Senators You eighteen tournament,
and then winning the Montonian recently first time in a while.
What's been the key to this to the tournament a success? Coach?
Speaker 6 (36:31):
Yeah, again, I think it's just rolling four lines in sixteen,
having solid goaltending. You know, you gotta play a lot
of games in a short period of time against good competition.
You can't, can't shorten your bench too early. And you know, again,
putting trust in the trusting the players, it's the biggest thing.
I think at this level. You just have to trust
the kids. Yes, they're gonna make mistakes, you have to
put them back on the ice, and I think I
(36:53):
think that's what we do here.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
I hear you say quite often, You've said it in
this interview about kids having buy in at this level
with this team. What does buy and mean to you
in the coaching staff. Yeah, we've talked a lot about
it this year.
Speaker 6 (37:06):
It's just it starts in practice with our practice habits
and pushing each other and holding each other to a
higher standard. You know, we've got some really good leaders
in our dressing room that have come up with a
list of standards that we want to live by this year.
And yeah, just grind every day, trying to get a
little bit better every single game. Doesn't matter who we play.
You know, we beat a team by seven eight goals,
(37:27):
show up to practice Tuesday and be ready to have
the work boots on.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
This is Hockey Fights Cancer Night, a nice ceremony prior
to the game, honoring all families who have dealt with cancer,
but certainly specifically Carter Meira, sixteen year old hockey player
who's been battling cancer, rang the bell recently to signify
the end of his treatments. He was here tonight. It
was great to see the teammates from the Max with Carter.
(37:54):
But what does a night like this mean to the
team and to the organization.
Speaker 6 (37:57):
I think it means something different to everybody. You know,
everybody has somebody in their lives that's had to fight
this horrible disease, or you know you've lost somebody to
this disease. You know, obviously Carter is an important piece
to our our family here, and you know, we've been
along with him for his journey and you know, I
said to him, he's he's lived an entire life basically
in about a year and a half, things that some
(38:20):
people will just never experience. So you know, it's an
important night to continue to raise funds and spread awareness
and you know, just for people to celebrate some of
those one people that they've lost and people that are
going through the fight.
Speaker 3 (38:34):
I joked earlier that you are a long time coach
of the Max, but you've you've been around this organization
a long time, tim What keeps motivating you, what keeps
bringing you back season after season?
Speaker 6 (38:45):
Just the dressing room, being in there with the kids
keeps you young, being on the ice, seeing their excitement
and enthusiasm, and you know, them chasing their dreams and
their goals. You know, I had my chance and I
went through it. For me, it's just trying to provide
the best program and opportunity so these these young men
can advance in their hockey careers and their lives.
Speaker 3 (39:07):
Last one for you. You never know who's listening to our
broadcast on FFM Radio. But what would you want to
say to someone that's never been out to a Nova
scoti Ua team Major Hockey League game in person as
to why they should come out and watch these young
players up close and in person.
Speaker 6 (39:23):
Great brand of hockey. If it's fast, it's physical. You
get a lot of the you know, future stars of
the Quebec League and Maritime Junior League playing.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
In this uh you know, in this league.
Speaker 6 (39:32):
And it's an affordable product and uh yeah, just it's
really good hockey.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
Well, Tim, we certainly appreciate you taking the time to
come up and sit here in the stands at the
redline and have a chat with us. Good luck the
remainder of this game and of course the rest of
the season.
Speaker 6 (39:46):
Thanks for having me.
Speaker 3 (39:47):
That is Tim Boyce, he's the head coach of the
Halifax Max. Really appreciate having him join us here in
the first intermission, his team leading to to one after
one period of play. We'll step aside take a break
second period action. Just around the corner. You're listening to

Speaker 3 (40:53):
Welcome back to the Halifax Forum. Big thank you to
Max head coach Tim Boyce for coming up and joining
us during the first intermission, his team leading to one.
As we get ready to drop the puck on period two,
the teams that have switched ends. The Halifax Max wearing
their Hockey Fights Cancer pink jerseys and socks, now skating
(41:13):
my right to left end the Visiting Valley Wildcats wearing
white with red and black trim, now skating left to right,
and we are underway. Chandler Bell and goal for the Max.
And it's Maddox Newman for the Wildcats. Off the face off,
the Wildcats will control working it up. That's Jesse Sinclair.
(41:34):
Now the puck at neutral ice spinning around there was
River Welsh and the Max will get it out of
their own zone up to the red line. Seaman intercepts
there for the Wildcats and backhands it down into the
Max end of the ice. There's Guinnish. Guinnish scored a
bang bang tap in goal off a lovely passing play
late in the first period to give the Max a
(41:55):
two one lead they currently enjoy. There is a long
shot as sauntering into the lot was Sharert, and Sharert
whistled it wide and then the goaltender Newman hangs on
and makes the face off. As mentioned, this is Hockey
Fights Cancer Night. Also tonight's broadcast being brought to you
by feed Nova Scotia and Elderdog. We certainly appreciate those
(42:19):
two organizations and all the great things that they do.
Learn more about freed Nova Scotia at Feednova Scotia dot
CA and Elderdog at Elderdog dot Ca. Off the face
off puck along the boards right in front of the
Wildcat's bench and the Max will just hammer it down
into the Wildcat's zone even strength hockey here as we
(42:41):
get things underway in period number two, just fifty three
seconds has come off the clock in this second period.
Recapping the goal scorers for you, Evan Liver made it
one nothing Max, and then on the powerplay, Morgan Fleming
made it one to one. And then as mentioned late
in that first first Jack Skinnish off a lovely three
(43:03):
way passing play got a tap in goal and that's
our two to one score. Shots on goal not posted.
I can't update you there, but I can tell you
both goaltenders played well. Max probably had the more high
quality chances as that puck floated in from SuDS into
the glove of the goaltender Newman, who made a couple
(43:24):
of outstanding stops in that opening period. So face off
will be in the Wildcat zone to the right of
their goaltender in on the draw Carter Sullivan for the Max,
(43:44):
and he had it momentarily, but then the Wildcats jump
right on at good work there from Fleming grabbing that
puck off the Max face off win and then he
chased it into the corner, did Morgan Fleming and chopped
it toward the goal. It popped up high the air
and the goaltender Chandler Bell just grabbed it like a
(44:05):
center fielder catching a fly ball. So a bit more
of a stop and go fish few minutes here of
period number two, the first period, and talked about it
with Max coach Tim Boyce. It was just fast, physical
and flying. Now Wildcats on that puck in the Max zone.
(44:28):
There is Morgan Fleming. He's had himself a good game
so far, number seventy two. He's been all over the ice,
He's got himself a power play goal, and he's back
looking for more. But it's the Max who will grab
it in their own zone and send it up to
the red line. Puck backhanded up towards Sullivan and it
goes beyond Sullivan, rolls into the goaltender Newman, and then
(44:49):
a couple of players gather around the front of the
Wildcat's net and a little bit of pushing and shoving
takes place, nothing serious though, nothing major. We'll come of
that and the two teams will get fresh legs out
on the ice. And again, we've only played a minute
in forty nine of the second period, and I think
we've had as many whistles in the first one nine
(45:12):
as we had all first period. But that's the way
the ebb and flow of the game goes. Sometimes face
off in the Wildcats zone and the Wildcats will work
it up the boards. Max keep it in over on
that right point. They'll float it in and it just
bounces into the goaltender Newman and again a stoppage and
a face off. Still haven't played two minutes here in
(45:35):
this second period. Certainly a very different flow so far.
And again just early here in period number two two
one your score Max leading it. All three goals scored
in period number one, both Max goals even strength, Wildcat's
goal a power play marker off that face off. Now
(45:59):
the we'll go down behind the Wildcat's goal, chasing in
after it. There was Uzachuku, he couldn't come up with it,
and Sinclair will work it up ahead. He collects with
no connects, I should say with Nolan Fletcher, but the
Max will force the puck back to the red line
and then the Wildcats we'll flip it out and it
goes out of play. As Jeremy Wilson tried to work
(46:21):
the puck up ahead but got a little too close
to the glass and it goes over and into the seats,
So yet another stoppage, and again I would have to
go back obviously and count, but just the feel, it
feels like we've already had more stoppages and whistles through
(46:42):
two minutes and twenty seconds of the second period. Then
we had all first and face off over on the
fire side in the Wildcats end, we'll share getting tossed
and having an elongated conversation with the lines person, obviously
not liking getting tossed out of the face off circle.
(47:02):
Bottomly comes in and quickly wins the draw. That puck
was fed right in front live Or was there and
chipped it wide of the goal. Now the Wildcats will
work it out with Conley. Here comes Isaac Conley, swooping
in toward the goal. Conley comes together with the other
number seven, Blake Bootleer, and the two number sevens fight
for the puck and it gets sent over towards the boards,
(47:23):
intercepted there by Shearer. Puck still in the mazone though
Max Hanley working for try to feed it out in front.
There's a chance, another chance. A couple of cracks in front,
right on the doorstep with Sam Stoddard for the Wildcats.
As the puck came right in front of the Max goal.
Stoddard was there, got a couple of good bangs on
(47:44):
the puck, and Chandler Bell just stood his ground and
blocked the goal and kept it out. Part of the
reason why Belle came into tonight's game with an eight
to er record at one point two to five goals
again and a nine to forty six say percentage. Not
(48:07):
quite three minutes played in the second period two to
one Max lead it. Max win the face off deep
in their own zone and the puck will be along the
boards on the left wing side in the Max end.
Max tried to work it out. It's intercepted though by
Morgan Fleming. Fleming got a shot low from the near
side and it's blocked down there by Bell. Good work
again from seventy two. Morgan Fleming of the Wildcats puck
(48:29):
down to the Wildcats zone, working with their's Cameron Hickey.
Hickey now reaching for the puck making a move down
low was Shearer and the puck floats up towards the
blue line. Trying to get it out with bets and
he does. Now Fleming cross ice long shot there wide
to the goal. There's that man, Morgan Fleming setting something
(48:49):
up again for the Wildcats, but now MJ. Bottomley right
back the other way. Bottomly feeds it over toward the
slot area. It was blocked down as Liver was waiting
for it, and then Liver in behind the Wildcats goal,
has a collision with Lucas Arnold. Live went down to
(49:10):
the ice and it looks like number sixteen Lucas Arnold
is gonna skate right to the penalty box. So over
to the penalty box goes Isaac Connelly had eighteen penalty
minutes coming into this one. He's got a couple more now.
(49:34):
I didn't see what the referees call was. Hopefully I'll
be able to hear it on the Charlie Brown Teacher's
PA system here. Wah wah wah. If you're wondering what
I mean. The PA system here at the HALIFAXX Forum
not easy to understand, like the old Charlie Brown Peanuts
teacher in the cartoons. Interference, I think that's what was announced. Interference.
(50:01):
But it's the max on the power play. We do
know that much. There's a quick shot from the left
wing side as River Welsh walked in, took a quick
shot with traffic in front. Newman saw it, saves it,
and then a little bit of discussion amongst the players
on the ice after the stoppage. So one p thirty
(50:22):
nine left in the power play for the Max fifteen
fifty four in this second period two to one your score,
Max leading it. All three goals in the game scored
back in period one, face off to the right of
the Wildcats goalie, Max win the draw. Here's treewind dishes
down to the boards on that left side, feeding it
across River Welsh, great cross ice pass and the one
(50:46):
timer sent wide of the goal as Carter O'Dell leaned
into it. Great pass across from the left circle over
to the right side as Welsh got it over to
Odell and O'Dell sent it wide. And then we've got
a stoppage here, so we'll have another face off. This
time it's over on the far side to the left
of the Wildcat's goaltender Newman. A minute and a half
(51:09):
left in the max power play. From the face off,
the puck will come over to the near side, puck
in the Wildcat zone and turning and firing it down
the ices, Max Hanley, and that'll relieve some pressure. Bell
leaves it in behind his own goal. Maxwell look to
skate it out here and get set up again on
the power play one oh nine to go in the
(51:30):
man advantage for Halifax. Here's love It left it at
the point Odell lost the handle. Max get it right
back though, Love It over on the right Sidele on
the half wall bounces it off the boards to Odell.
Now to Treeman. Good passing play love It stepping into
love It as Handley. Puck comes loose and the referee's
(51:52):
arm is up and we'll see it looks like it's
going to be a head contact call coming here. There's
a couple of players over jostling for the puck. We'll
have to see and it's gonna be four minutes. So
the penalty box timekeeping area just below my broadcast position.
(52:13):
So I saw the referee come over and signal four
fingers being four minutes four head contacts. So Ian love
it to the penalty box. So there's forty eight seconds
left in the penalty to the Wildcats, Isaac Connelly. So
we'll have four on four and then it'll be bearing
(52:36):
any other calls or a goal, it'll be a long
power play for the Wildcats. So they're just announcing the penalty.
We'll love it now, So four on four hockey here,
thirty seconds left in the Wildcats penalty. Kreelman skates it out, turns,
leaves it for Ginnish. Jack's Ginnish weaving through. Ginnish walks in,
got a good shot away and the goal tender Newman
(52:58):
just got enough. There's another chants walking into one. There
was Sharer, a couple of good chances there from the
Max on the four on four Nolan, which just me
Carter Sullivan forced to turn over just for a moment though.
Now a couple of seconds left and the Wildcats will
go on the power play. So I said it was
(53:20):
Isaac Conley, Sorry it was Lucas Arnold in the box.
So Arnold out of the penalty box, to the bench,
and now three h one left to go in the
power play for the Wildcats. The four minute head contact
penalty to Ian love it. So extra power play time
here for the Wildcats. And now chasing it down into
(53:42):
his own zone right back the other way. Sharrick took
the shot, big chance in front again as Shearer started
to rush shorthanded, got a good shot away from the
right circle, and following up was Sullivan tried to bang
away at a loose puck rebound, but Newman was able
to cover up. Down to thirteen forty four to go
(54:02):
in the second period, two forty one left into the
power play, time for the Valley Wildcats. So the best
chance is here on the Wildcats power play. Although it's
only been a few seconds, but it's been the Max
with a couple of chances. Now Halifax will win the draw.
They'll just backpedal into neutral Icense send it down into
(54:25):
the Wildcats end of the ice. Two and a half
minutes left to go. In the Wildcat's power play, Breen
sends it back into his own zone. Max killing time here.
Wildcats trying to gain control in the Max zone, but
the Max will grab it and they'll bounce it off
the board, sending it off the wall. That was Welsh
trying to get something going there for Liver who was
(54:47):
hovering down in the Wildcats zone. Now Valley will skate
the puck out, Jacob Seaman rifles it down into the
mazone two oh three to go in the Max power play.
Wildcats excuse me the max penalty, I should say Wildcat's
power play. A couple of players battling for that puck
down below the Max goal line. SuDS is in there
(55:08):
trying to dig it out. He's getting some help. Puck
comes free for a minute now back to Seaman at
the line from the right point. Semen spinning around, gives
it off to Jesse Sinclair. Sinclair goes across to Carrigan.
There's a shot from the high slot, letting it go
with Jesse Sinclair went off of skate in behind the goal.
Max able to clear it up to the red line.
(55:30):
Twelve thirty to go in the period five to go
in this Valley Wildcat's power play, they hadn't been able
to get a whole lot going with the man advantage.
Here see what they can do now with Connolly working
it up to the red line now gaining the zone
out of the Wildcats. This is Hood from the right
wing side, drops it back to the right point, trying
(55:51):
to slide it across. There was fleming and it'll go
all the way down into the Wildcats zone again. Good
penalty killed going here for Max. Fifty seven seconds to
go in the power play for Valley they hadn't been
able to muster too much offense to this point, but
still some time to work with. Can they do it? Here?
Hood comes to the near side onto the stick of
(56:13):
Morgan Fleming. Fleming, the goal scorer for the Valley Wildcats,
a power play marker late in the first down to
thirty seven seconds to go in the Wildcats power play,
eleven thirty eight in the period. Second period action here
from the historic Halifax Form Hockey Fights Cancer night here
for this Max home game. Here's Conley now into the middle,
(56:34):
rips a shot and a good save from Bell. As
Isaac Conley cut into the middle and ripped a good
shot that Bell had to make a nice save on
just thirteen seconds to go in the Wildcats power play.
Perhaps one more rush we'll see here now as they
work it up out of their own end, hunter Hood
(56:55):
try to get it over to Stoddard comes back towards Hood.
He backhands it towards the MAX zone and the Max
have killed it off. So a long stretch of penalty
killed time and the Max killed off. Now here's a
chance feeding it into the stock. Cooper Strong just sent
it wide point shot blockdown. Ginish leans into one toad drag,
(57:17):
it was blocked down and then from about five feet
in front, have your stock lifted it over the goal.
Good pressure there from the Max just after they killed
off the penalty, so we've got a stoppage now, getting
close to our media timeout. Ten thirty seven to go
in the second period, Max leaded two to one. A
(57:39):
reminder again something new that the league is implemented this
year media timeouts in all league games, first whistle after
the ten minute mark in each period. So we're getting
close to our media time out here. That'll give me
a moment to tell you about our great supporters of
our broadcast to night two, great order organizations. In the meantime,
(58:02):
Sinclair tried to work it in for the Wildcats. Jesse Sinclair,
the captain of the Wildcats, on the puck, now feeds
it over, try to connect with Fletcher and that puck
pops up high and out of play. So some good
work there from Sinclair and Nolan Fletcher. Down to ten
(58:23):
fourteen left in period two. Hoping to have Scott Trask,
head coach of the Wildcats, on in the second intermission,
and he very frankly said to me when I was
talking to him, pregame he said, Yeah, I'll come on,
he says, but can you just remind me? So now
I've got to remind myself to text coach Trask to
(58:45):
remind him to come up to chat in the second intermission.
Almost at the halfway point of period two, puck back
to the left point. Puck now in the Max zone.
Wildcats trying to get something set up here were it
even strength Hocke here Seemen the right point sends it
down low, hops over the stick of Morgan Fleming. Fleming
doing some good work down below the goal line, gets
(59:06):
pushed into the half wall down there. Now four players
converge on the puck in the corner and the Max
will try to get out of the zone. A couple
of players reaching for it. Wildcats able to grab it
only for a moment though, as Sud's on the puck.
Now for the Max down the left wing side, trying
to get in quickly. There was Nate McKay, but it's
sent right back out of the zone. Nine and a
(59:27):
half to go. Next whistle brings us to the media timeout.
Here's Isaac Connolly sends it right in front and a
great chance from hunter Hood as he was right on
top of the goaltender, took the feed from Conley and
maybe was just a little too close to the goaltender
as he couldn't quite settle it to get a clean
shot on goal. And that stoppage brings us to our
(59:48):
media timeout. We'll step aside for a moment and be
back nine to twenty to go win the second max
lead at two to one.
Speaker 4 (59:55):

Speaker 3 (01:00:45):
So we're back underway here, nine to seventeen to go
in period two, Halifax leading this game two to one.
Here's who's a cuku now slides it across, tried to
kneck with love it love it got tied up there
as right in his grill was Nate Betts. Puck down
load Max trying to work it in front of the goal.
It'll go over to the boards on the left side,
(01:01:06):
and Betts tried to send it ahead, but the Max
will intercept that the red line sending it in picked
up there by Henrik Girard. Girard watches now as the
puck will go down into the Max zone and that'll
be an icing call against Valley. With eight minutes fifty
seconds to go in period number two, Halifax Max leading
(01:01:31):
this game two to one. All scoring in this game
in the first period. They don't post shots on goals,
so not able to update you on that face off
in the Wildcats on to the left of Newman scramble
draw trying to push it forward. There was Sinclair Amos.
Sinclair watches as Liver jumped on that puck, quickly skated
(01:01:54):
off to the left circle, got a quick snapshot away
and again Maddix Newman solid and goal. Mentioned the numbers
for Bell earlier. A great season going for Maddox Newman
as well, nine oh six eight percentage of two eighty
two goals against and an eight and four record on
the year. Face off to the right of number twenty
(01:02:17):
nine and the Wildcat's net. Maddox Newman fucking now to
the boards on the far side. Wildcats flip it up
towards Fletcher. Nolan Fletcher couldn't quite settle it, and the
Wildcats will backpedal into their own zone. Off the wall
up towards Amos Sinclair and now Sinclair. Amos Sinclair chips
(01:02:38):
it down into the zone. Sinclair has Nolan Fletcher with him,
but it's broken up by the Max and Halifax will
send it right back into the Wildcat's zone, bouncing it
off the wall as Cameron Hickey he took a bump
for his trouble intercepted. Here's tree Win dishes off quick,
shutting up Blocker, saving up beauty as tree Wind set
(01:02:58):
up Sharer and then error tried to go short side
blocker side and Newman made a great save down to
seven fifty one to go into the zone. Now Nolan
Fletcher had his pocket picked and Guinish will stop in
behind his own goal. Max will skate the puck out
(01:03:21):
of their zone with Guinish down the left side. Guinish,
there's one of those patented Guinish coast to coast rushes
tried to work it in front, but the puck will
end up coming all the way down back into the
Max zone, where Kreelman gathers and sends it off to
the left wing side. Max will send it down into
the Wildcat zone, and as Jacob Seman gets to the puck,
(01:03:43):
the whistle blows to signify icing against the Max and
the face off will come down into the Halifax zone.
So seven twenty one to go here. In period number two,
Max leaded to to one goals from Liver and Guinnish
(01:04:04):
and Morgan Fleming replying for Valley, and now we've got
off setting miners here. I didn't see the Wildcats player.
It looks like River Welsh for the Max, and I
didn't catch the number on the Wildcats player. Again, penalty
boxes below, but my line of sight is obstructed by
(01:04:26):
a concrete wall. Again, I didn't see the Wildcats player
until after he had gone into the box, and I
was just able to see the number eighteen on River Welsh.
So offsetting miners won't affect the number of skaters on
the ice. At stays five on five, so we've got
(01:04:47):
to stop at chair. Both teams changing up, getting fresh
legs out on the ice. Seven oh seven to go.
Face off will be in the Mac zone. It'll be
to the let of Chandler Bell and they scramble draw
(01:05:08):
puck goes over towards the boards. Wildcats able to get
it back to Jacobs Seman at the right point. His
shot was blocked and the Max transition right back the
other way. Max tried to get the pucking on goal,
but it was blocked by the Wildcats and it goes
off into the corner valley. Now will pick up that puck,
look to get it out of the zone, but it's
kept in good play by SuDS at the blue line.
(01:05:30):
Now in behind his own goal, Jacob Seaman puck came
dangerously in front, but a good play there by the
Wildcats to clear it away. Max send it right back in,
but I think that was sent in from outside the zone.
So the play will whistle or the whistle I should say,
we'll stop play. The officials going over to check the
(01:05:52):
post to the glove hand of the goaltender Maddox Newman,
making sure that it's firmly in place. They'll give a
little spray with water to give a little extra freeze
to that post. Six point thirty four to go face
off to the left of the Wildcats again. Another scramble
draw and the Wildcats will work it to the line
(01:06:14):
not out kept in there by SuDS. SuDS from the
left point sent it in wide of the goal, comes
all the way out to the half, while on the
other side a couple of players in on that pucket
comes right back to SuDS from just inside the blue line.
He hammers it in behind the Wildcat's goal. Now Valley
will skate it out with Stoddard. Stoddard try to fire
(01:06:35):
it into the zone, but the Max will intercept trying
to get to the puck. With Max Hanley at the
red line, Handley takes a shot from behind as Fleming
hit him and some of the Wildcats fans wanted a
penalty call. Then puck in front. They score. Kind of
a play that developed from not much to something as
(01:07:00):
the play was over along the half while and then
the corner over on the far side and the Wildcats end,
and then it just ended up kind of popping up
into the air in front of the goal. And then
the next thing you know, Cooper Strong is credited with
goal number three on the night for the Max. And
I don't even know if Newman saw that put kind
(01:07:23):
of spring towards him and it just kind of bounced
in past the Wildcats goaltender. So it looks like Cooper
Strong is going to be credited with that goal from
the traffic in front. And with five point fifty one
to go in period number two, the Max have a
three to one lead for Cooper Strong. That's goal number
(01:07:51):
six on the air. So Cooper Strong goal number six
on the season and it's goal number three for the Max.
And again, just kind of a strange play as there
was traffic over all onng the half while and the
corner on the far side in the Wildcat zone, and
(01:08:12):
then the Max were able to work it toward the
goal and it kind of just bounced them behind Maddox
Newman and Cooper Strong gets the goal. So have the
double check trying to listen to the announcement and hopefully
(01:08:35):
the Max will update it on their socials. It was
Cooper Strong first down the line when they just announced
the Max goal. I'm not sure again trying to listen
to the announcement. There's a chance now, Wildcats quickly on
(01:08:55):
the puck and there's Morgan Fleming again his strong game.
Cant and use number seventy two for the Wildcats Morgan Fleming.
So again I'll have to check. Let's see if I
can get confirmation of who they're crediting that goal too. Again,
it was kind of a a bizarre play. Puck coming
from the half wall in the corner in towards the
goaltender Maddox Newman, and then kind of popped in behind
(01:09:18):
the Wildcats keeper. And again it was it was Cooper
Strong first down the line, which usually indicates that's the
goal score. But we'll double check and see. But what
really matters. It's goal number three for the Max and
they've doubled their lead. It's now three to one, four
forty two to go. Second period action, Max backhand the
(01:09:39):
puck down into the zone. Again. The Max on this
Hockey Fights Cancer night, wearing their pink sweaters with the
matching socks. Valley Wildcats in their whites with the red
and black trend. Puck in the Max zone. Bottomly hammers
it off the half wall and the Max will break
it out. There's a quick shot there as will Cher
(01:10:02):
leaned into one he had live or heading toward the goal.
Now Liver jumps on the puck, walks in just outside
the hash. Marx took a quick shot and the flex
off the goal and we'll have a stoppage with four
oh eight left to play. And again just a reminder
hoping to have Wildcats head coach Scott Trast join us
(01:10:23):
on the broadcast in this second amission. So just the
one goal here in this second period scored by Halifax.
It's three to one, with four to eight to go.
Face off to the left of Newman in the Wildcat zone.
There's Kreelman from the right point off the face off,
(01:10:43):
sent the puck in. Now'll play along the boards on
that left side, near side, sharp angles shot. There was
River Welsh putting it on goal, taking it up high.
There was the goaltender Newman, Max keeping the Wildcats hiding
their own zone here. Now we get a rugby scrum
along the wall and it's Sinclair goes skating in behind
(01:11:06):
his own goal. Jesse Sinclair shot it up the left side,
intercepted there in the Mac said that cross Ice just
keeping it in Now? Is Ian love it trying to
jump over his man? Was River Welsh? And they're gonna
call a tripping call. Well, the referees have a tough job,
and I don't have the benefit of a replay, but
(01:11:29):
it looked to me like Welsh was trying to jump
over the stick of Lucas Arnold and Arnold you may
have heard it, not happy. He goes into the penalty
box and just slams that penalty box door a couple
of times. So Lucas Arnold in the box for tripping.
(01:11:51):
And again I don't have the benefit of replay, but
watching it happen live, it appeared as River Welsh was
trying to break in toward the goal and was looking
to jump over the stick of Arnold, and then arnold
stick got tied up with the on rushing River Welsh
penalty called Max to the power play with three twenty
(01:12:12):
seven to go, face off to the right of the
Wildcat's net. Off the draw, Wildcats will pick it up
and Seamen sends it the length of the ice. They're
just announcing the penalty now to Lucas Arnold. He's pretty
steamed down there in the penalty box, but he'll have
(01:12:33):
some time to cool his jets as the Wildcats look
to kill off this penalty. Good defensive play there at
the line as trying to bring it in was Will Schert,
and it was broken up neatly by hunter Hood Max
out on the power play, working into his own. This
is Liver sending it in around the goal. Sheer was
(01:12:54):
in there for a look. Now U's achuku and it
goes by a couple of Max players that were patrolling them.
Lou Line all the way back into the crease. Chandler Bell,
we'll stop at him, push it up to his captain,
Riley Kreelman. Here comes Creelman skates it into neutral ice,
drops it there for sure now to Guinish. Then Guinnish
(01:13:20):
let a shot go and it ended up flipping up
high into the netting behind the Wildcat's goal, and that'll
cause a stoppage. Now, two twenty four to go in
the period. Fifty seven seconds left in the tripping call
to Lucas Arnld Love the Wildcats face off. Pardon me,
will be in the Wildcat zone to the left of
(01:13:41):
Newman Jesse Sinclair and on the face off, and the
Wildcats win it cleanly. There's a quick shot. Love It
walks in and just tried to go short side, and
another nice blocker saved by Newman. Newman's had that blocker
working pretty well tonight. Forty one seconds to go in
(01:14:03):
the max power play. They have it in behind their
own net. Two h three to go in the second period.
Turning in his own zone is Welsh. Welsh now turns
us back to the defender, drops it back to Love It.
Here's love It into the blue line. Love It has
one man to beat, gets tied up there. Love It
goes down. Welsh feeds it across quick shot there as
(01:14:23):
Welsh slid it over neatly onto the stick of Nate McKay.
Excuse me, Carter O'Dell and from that right circle, Odell
got a good shot away and again Newman ready for it,
makes the save and we'll have another face off. Now
down to one forty seven in the second period, twenty
seconds only left in the power play to the max
(01:14:46):
face off once again to the left side of the
Wildcat's goal. Off the draw, pucked out of the half
wall fireside Max looking to control here. They'll send it
over to the board's near side, picking it up there
as Welsh he'll dip it down for love it. Love
it back up to the blue line, over to Kreelman.
Just a couple of seconds to go and the penalty
(01:15:07):
is over as love it. Tried to backhand that puck
across it was too high though Welsh couldn't settle it.
Wildcats have killed it off. Back to five on five
hockey here one point fifteen to go in the second
right in front and Odell couldn't quite settle it as
he was fed that puck about six feet in front
of the Wildcat's net. Max on the puck again, turning
(01:15:30):
with it there was Sam Fleming and the Wildcats just
get it out of the zone. Good work there by
Eric Hanley, final minute of play in the second, Hare's
treewin in his own zone gets it up ahead onto
the stick of Will Shearer. Sharer from the red line
just end over and flips it down into the Wildcat's zone.
(01:15:52):
Chases after it, trying to get to the puck with Sullivan,
but the Wildcat's able to get it out of the
zone and sudd sends it right back thirty three seconds
to go, stepping into his man. There was McKay with
a nice solid body check, but down come the Wildcats.
Eric Hanley twenty two seconds to go, tried to feed
(01:16:14):
it in front for the on rushing Nate Betts Wildcats
trying to get a late one here, feeding it back
to the left point. Now over to this right side.
Semen has it back to the left point, long shot
through a crowd, goes just wide. Good set up there
and the shot from Wilson went wide to the goal.
Just a couple of seconds to go as the puck
bounces down towards Newman and that will do it. Period
(01:16:38):
number two in the books. Took a while for the
second period to get going, but once it did, good
hard hitting action once again, just the one goal in
that period and it's the Max with the three to
one lead after forty minutes. We'll step aside, take a break.
You're listening to FFM Radio. Three to one Max over
the Wildcats after two back in just a bit.

A welcome back to the Halifax Forum. Play just underway
here in period number three on this Hockey Fight's Cancer
Night from the Halifax Forum. The Halifax Max the host
team taking on the visitors, the Valley Wildcats two to
one after one for the Max three to one after two,
and we were hoping to have Wildcats head coach got
(01:18:13):
trash join us. But as I told them, if you're
not available, if you don't have time, it's a OK.
So hopefully we'll have Coach Trask on another broadcast. So
just underway here again in period number three, Max leating
at three to one, and I'll give you an update
on that third Max goal after the next stoppage. Face
(01:18:36):
off in the MA zone to the left of the
goaltender Chandler belt and it puck bounces up into neutral ice,
Wildcats gathering their own zone. Gerard slides it across, working
up the ice with it. Now is Max Hanley, and
it'll come all the way back to Henrik Girard. Girard
(01:18:58):
backpedaling into his own own slides it across to Braden
Carrigan and now it comes over to this near side
onto the stick of Max Hanley. Hanley tries to carry
it into the Max zone. He got stopped there and
the Max will bring it right back out the other
way with Cooper Strong Strong down the right side, slides
it into the middle. That play was broken up. Now
Odell leans into a shot from about twenty two feet
(01:19:22):
and another blocker save from Maddix Newman. How many times
have I said that tonight blocker save Newman? He's really
had that blocker working has the Wildcat's goalie. Just a
minute and a half played here in this third period.
We start the period five skaters aside that buck dangerously
(01:19:42):
in front of the Max goal, but Halifax is able
to grab it. They'll send it down the ice and
it's a nicing call. So here are the third period.
Teams have switched ins once again. The home side Halifax
Max wearing their hockey fights cats or pink jerseys and
socks now skating my left to right, and the Valley
Wildcat that's the visitors wearing their white jerseys with the
black and red trim now skating my right to left.
(01:20:07):
Chandler Bell in goal for the Max. Maddox Newman for
the Wildcats, and I promise I will get the update
on the goal scorer for that third Max goal. It's
coming for folks. Scrambly play in the mazone long shot
there as flipping a him was Lucas Arnold. Not a
bad idea. Just put that puck in toward the goal.
(01:20:28):
Wildcats on it again. Wildcats have played a good game
here tonight and there within striking distance. As we're just
a couple of minutes played in this third period, Wildcats
trailing by just two. Halifax Max undefeated on the season
sixteen and oh all regulation wins as well, no overtime wins,
(01:20:50):
no shootout wins, it's all regulation wins for the Max.
That puck intercepted, Hood, walks in left side, takes a
shot trying to go to the near post and beat
the glove hand of Chandler Bell, but Bell just got
enough to deflect it and we'll have a face off.
So to update you, I thought it was Cooper Strong
(01:21:11):
that got credited for the Max third goal. It was
credited to Carter Sullivan and a big thank you to
the Halifax Max social team for posting that goal update.
So Carter Sullivan getting the goal that made it three
to one, and for Sullivan that was his ninth of
the year. So Sullivan is the player who got that
(01:21:32):
third goal and has given the Max the three to
one lead that they currently enjoy. Now up the left side,
trying to work it up, there was Jesse Sinclair. He
got turned aside at the red line. Now back the
other way taking a quick shot was Carter Sullivan as
he walked into the Wildcat zone from the left side,
got a quick shot away and Newman just got enough
(01:21:53):
to deflect it up and out of play. Balley Wildcats
come into this game twelve wins, nine losses, one overtime loss,
twenty five points on the air, trailing the Max by
seven points. But the Max, because of their time up
(01:22:15):
in Ottawa at the uaighteen tournament, they've played far fewer
games than everyone else in the league. Most teams have
played twenty one or twenty two games, while the Max
have played just sixteen. Now Sinclair jumping on that puck.
Wildcats working it around here, trying to get a little
pressure going in the Max zone. Down to sixteen thirty
(01:22:36):
seven to go in this third period. Wildcats still have
possession in the mazone. Some good work down low there.
Tried to work it toward the goal. That was Nolan Fletcher.
But the Max will get it down into the Wildcats zone,
they'll grab it and it was a Chuku tried to
send it right in front Ecuse that was McKay twenty three,
(01:23:00):
twenty four. So we've got a stoppage now coming up
to four minutes played. Period number three, Max leading it
by a score three to one. On again a special
night here part of the Nova Scotia Uaight Major Hockey
League Hockey Fights Cancer games. All teams hosting hockey fights
(01:23:25):
cancer games, this one obviously being hosted by the home side,
Halifax Max. And what a great building to have it in,
this very historic Halifax Form coming up to almost one
hundred years old. I believe nineteen twenty seven I believe
was the first year of operation for the Halifax Form.
There's a point shot from the left point as Max
(01:23:46):
Hanley let it go and that pinball's around as it
went wide to the Halifax net and out of play.
Fifteen to fifty five left to go. Three face off
in the mac zone. Max getting Joe Green out on
(01:24:06):
the ice for this face off to the right of
Chandler Bell off the face off right into the slot.
Quick shot is Bets walked into it. Nate Betts had
that puck come to him from about seventeen feet right
in front of the goaltender and got a quick shot
(01:24:29):
away a Chandler Bell equal to the task. Again, they
don't post the shots on goals, so I can't update
you on that, but it is three to one Halifax,
two to one Halifax after one, three one after two.
No scoring so far, in period three, and here comes
Bottomly dishes off to that left side. Bottomly heads toward
(01:24:51):
the goal. Bottomly almost had the puck come back to him,
but it goes off to the right side from the board.
SuDS put it in toward the goal, Whi hats intercepted.
SuDS again puts it in behind the Wildcat's ned. Bottomly
tried to chase it there. Hendrik Gerrard steps into Bottomly
and the Wildcats will pick it up, puck dangerously in
front of their own goal. They'll try again, and the
(01:25:13):
puck does come into neutral ice. Jumping on the puck.
His bets tried to get it over there to Nolan Fletcher.
That didn't connect. Fletcher and Carrigan now go to the bench.
Quick change here for the Wildcats, as Bottomly, we'll just
flip it down into the zone. Halifax looking to make
some changes as well. Puck now deep into the Wildcats
into the ice in the corner on that far side,
(01:25:36):
and the Max will grab it. Liver force the turnover.
Liver heads toward the front of the goal. That quick
shot came from the left boards. Newman made the save
and the Max stay on the puck. Kreelman sent it
down the right side, jumping in on it quickly. There
was love it, but the Wildcats will grab it. Here's
Hood right down the middle. Hood don't breakaway, and he
(01:25:58):
just got tied up at the last moment as Hood
broke in and just catching up in the nick of
time was Carter Odell. My goodness, best chance of the
period for the Wildcats, and it was number twenty one
Hunter Hood who found himself with the puck and skating
in alone on the goaltender Chandler Bell. But a great
(01:26:22):
play from Carter Odell on the back check. Now the
puck down into the Wildcat zone. Lucas Arnold pushed his
man off the puck and then little pushing and shoving
as the puckets jammed at the side of the gold
Newman froze it and we'll have a face off with
fourteen minutes to go. But my goodness, glorious chance on
(01:26:43):
the breakaway for a hunter Hood as he just kind
of found the puck on his stick and sprung in
and once again to the penalty box goes Lucas Arnold,
and again Arnold, the body language tells you he's not happy,
is once again into the penalty box, slamming the door.
(01:27:03):
So Lucas Arnold voicing his displeasure to whoever will listen.
So he's got to sit in the penalty box. Now,
with fourteen minutes to go in this third period, face
off will be to the left of the Wildcat's goal.
Scramble draw comes back to tree Win, tight ropes along
(01:27:26):
the blue line. Tree When dishes off to the left side,
Max setting up here on the power play. Tree Win
again up high, dishes off to the right side, Max
working it around here. Tree Win gives it off there
for Odell, quick passover, trying to settle it with Sharer
back to tree Win. Everybody getting a touch here, but
the Wildcat's doing a good job keeping the Max to
(01:27:48):
the outside. Ma's on the power play here there's Welsh
dishing down low, Max cycling the puck hair tree Win
from the left point walks in circles in behind the goald.
Tree Win try to feed it back there to Carter Odell.
Now it comes back to Love it to tree Win,
who let the shot go as tree Win, skating circles
(01:28:10):
in that zone, found himself back just inside the blue
line from that high slot area, puck came to me,
got a good shot away traffic in front, but Newman
hangs on and makes the save. Down to one fourteen
in the power play, Lucas Arnold in the penalty box
for the Valley Wildcats three one year score. Max lead
(01:28:33):
it thirteen to fourteen to go in the third. It's
been an entertaining game, Max top of the table sixteen
and oh as mentioned, but the Wildcats playing a whale
of a road game here tonight, and again they're just
a couple of shots away from tying this one up.
But Max still on the power play, this is live
or down low, feeds it to Guinnish. Guinnish goes over
(01:28:55):
to Creelman. Creelman got tangled up with the puck, ended
up settling it and is able to work it back
and the Wildcats able to clear the puck and it'll
go all the way down to the goaltender and Cameron
or excuse me, Bell will settle it there. Max coming
on the attack again with thirty seven seconds to go
(01:29:17):
in their power play and Guinnish will just fire it
down into the Wildcat zone and it's frozen there by
the goaltender Newman. So thirty four seconds left, so far
so good on the penalty kilt for the Valley Wildcats.
With Lucas Arnold in the box, face off to the
left of Newman, clean face off, wind comes back to
(01:29:40):
the line. Guinish couldn't keep it in at the right point.
Creelman will backpedal with Guinnish. Creelman puts it up towards
the red line. Huzachuku has to go off his skate
and then it gets pushed back to the goaltender Bell,
who gives it back to Uzachuku for check pressure here
from the Wildcats, but the Max break it with Sharer,
Share dumps off to the left, cross eyes pass Who's
(01:30:01):
a CHUCKU? Tried to take it down the right side,
but a good defensive play there by Max Sanley tied up.
Who's a chucku? Just three seconds to go in the
power play, long shot from the left point goes wide.
Liver walks off the boards on that right circle put
a shot wide of the net. Wildcats have killed off
the penalty. Arnold out of the penalty box and we're
(01:30:21):
back to five skaters aside and then Arnold comes out.
He's on a mission here. Arnold walks into Kreelman and
then steps into Shearer and now Arnold back the other way,
takes a quick shot in the pad save from Bell
Lucas Ernold a man possessed as he came out of
the penalty box. He takes all that energy to the
(01:30:43):
bench now and the Wildcats carrying on in the Mac zone.
Halifax able to get the puck up into neutral ice.
Going back into his own zone there was Jacob Sieman.
Now he works it up ahead. Wildcats flipped that puck
down into the Halifax zone. Wildcat's making quick changes here.
Here's Sinclair, Jesse Sinclair back to the right point, Max
(01:31:06):
intercept and they'll flip it out of the zone. Cameron
Hickey gets to that puck quickly. Hickey being watched closely
there by Carter Sullivan and the Wildcats will come to
this near side on the left wing, cross ice pass
Jesse Sinclair into the zone, peels off to the right.
Sinclair over onto the boards, gets it back to the
(01:31:28):
line Hickey from the left point. Hickey puts a long
shot in well wide of the net, and now we've
got I think the net has come off the moorings.
As that puck was over on the half wall, over
on the far side, so the officials will jam that
net back into place. That's the same net that excuse
(01:31:50):
you who came dislodged back in the second period. So
they've got it settled back in and we're ready to go.
With ten thirty eight left in this third period, face
off in the mag zone to the left of Chandler
Bell quick chance there off the face off as jumping
onto the puck was Nate Betts max with the puck
(01:32:15):
in their own zone, long pass flipped up ahead. Carter
O'Dell tried to skate onto it. Now this is love
it with some speed. Love it with a big head
of steam, circles around the Wildcat's goal, gets it over
to that right side. Blake Bootler walked into it from
the top of the right circle, got a good shot
away and taking it right into the midsection was Maddox Newman.
(01:32:41):
Ten fourteen to go, getting close to our media time
out here, first whistle after ten minutes, we'll have that
media timeout stoppage. Face off in the Wildcat zone to
the left of Newman. Off the draw, puck goes down
into the corner, comes onto the boards on this near side.
Love it, trying to work the puck down low Love.
It takes a little push there. Cooper Strong jumps in.
(01:33:03):
He's feeling some pressure there from Hunter Hood Hood aggressively
staying on the puck carrier. Cooper Strong trying to work
it along the boards for the Max puck jumps up
into the air, comes down and settles onto the stick
of the Wildcats and it's worked up ahead by Hood
trying to bust in tight there was Isaac Connley and
(01:33:26):
Connley went right in towards the goal as the Wildcats
had a good rush. So we've got a stoppage and
that'll be our media timeout. Nine forty three to go
in this third period. No scoring yet in period number three.
Max lead it by a score of three to one.

Speaker 3 (01:34:39):
Face off will be in the Halifax zone to the
right of Chandler Bell. Nine forty three to go in
this third period. Max lead it on home ice three
to one, looking to keep their perfect record on the season.
Intact Wildcats looking to get a big win here in
this late November contest. Wildcats have played a dandy road game,
(01:35:00):
have given the Max everything they can handle, but again
it's the Max with the two goal advantage here. With
nine to twenty to go in the third Halifax has
the puck in behind their own goal, just taking their
sweet time back there now forcing the issue was Fletcher
and the Max. Now we'll move it up quick passed
us a chuku. He tries to split a couple of
defenders going right up the middle and now he'll take
(01:35:23):
it down into the corner, brings it in behind the
Wildcat's own USA. Chuku's still on that puck, bounces it
back to Tree when puts it in quickly toward the
front of the goal, and that's broken up and the
Wildcats will bring it out now with Bets. Bets has
had himself a good game, finds the puck on his stick,
got a quick shot away when it was blocked by
a couple of sticks in front of the goal. Good
(01:35:44):
chance there for the Wildcats and Bets. Now it's a
Chuku back the other way, charging in from the right
face off. Dot whipped the shot in and Newman grabs
it and squeezes it down to eight thirty six to go.
Both teams changing up their personnel here, getting fresh legs
(01:36:07):
out on the ice for this face off, which will
be in the Valley Wildcat zone. It'll be fleming in
on the draw up against Jesse Sinclair and it's a
scramble jraw. It goes to the boards. Now it's sent
in around behind the Wildcat's goal, picking up on the
(01:36:28):
far side was Amos and Clair, and it'll roll all
the way down to Chandler Bell in the Max net.
Wildcat's in on that puck quickly trying to gain control
of it, taking a hit for his trouble with Sam Stoddard.
And now the Max will skate it up the left side.
Eight thirteen to go, jumping on the puckets River Welsh
cuts to the middle. Wels tried to get a shot
away and it went off a Wildcats skate. Carter Sullivan
(01:36:51):
throwing his weight around for the Max and the Wildcat
zone pucked to the blue line. Now here comes Stoddard.
Tried to dish it over, connect there with Amos and Claire,
and the Max will send it down and that'll be
an icing call. Charge to Halifax. Down to seven fifty
two to go. This is the time of the third
(01:37:11):
period now where the fans and both benches will start
watching the clock very closely. And that clock high above
center ice here at the Halifax Forum says three for home,
one for guests, and seven fifty two to go. So
three one Max. Here's a quick shot off the face off.
Morgan Fleming again continues his productive night. He's got the
(01:37:35):
lone goal for the Wildcats, a power play Markers scored
late in the first, but he's been all over the
ice and all around the puck in tonight's game, and
he's having a quick chat now with a couple of
his teammates, Hunter Hood and Isaac Conley. Hood steps into
the face off here in the mazone to the right
(01:37:57):
of the goaltender Bell and it's won by Shear on
the face off and the Max Will flip it out
trying to find share. He lowers the head now races
after that puck into the corner, gets there first, just
ahead of Jeremy Wilson. Bottomly comes in to help out.
Sharer jumps on that puck, trying to block his momentum.
(01:38:18):
There was Jacob Sleeman, Sleeming big defenseman wearing fifty five,
almost had the puck, but it's taken away. Bottomly try
to slide it across there to the waiting Will's share
and just didn't connect, trying to backhand it up as
Morgan fleming for the Wildcats fleming on that puck again
that one off of skate Breen skated past it as
(01:38:40):
it kind of bounced past them and it goes down
into the mazone, but back quickly. Good hustle there from
number fourteen MJ. Bottomley Bottomly takes a push there from
Isaac Conley down below the Max goal line. Halifax will
pick up that puck. Shearer pancakes it up high to
the air like a chef flipping a flap, and it
(01:39:01):
goes down into the Wildcat zone. Both teams again making
changes there six forty three and counting on of the
puck is Cooper Strong. He gains the Wildcat zone. Strong
from the left hand side, took a shot and that
went wide of the goal. Puck is in behind the
Wildcat's net, bounces off the boards on the far side,
and the Wildcats will just chop it down the ice.
(01:39:23):
Does it have enough legs for icing? Yes, it does,
so we'll have a icing call and a face off
all the way back down into the Wildcats into the
ice down to six twenty forty. Oh and I know
it's early, but you may see a goaltender pull here.
(01:39:44):
I've seen coaches pull a goalie six minutes, seven minutes,
nine minutes, whatever. So three one, it's a two goal
lead for the Max. When, if, or when will Wildcats
head coach Scott Trask make that move and potentially pull
the goaltender Maddox Newman for the extra attacker. We'll see,
but right now Halifax has the puck in the Wildcat zone.
(01:40:08):
Cooper Strong took his man into the boards down low.
Puck was fed right in front of the Wildcat's net,
but Valley able to intercept and send it away with Betts.
Bets gets it over on the right side of Nolan Fletcher.
Fletcher lost the handle, tried to reach back for it,
but the Max will steal it away. Now Halifax again
with the steady tree win mentioned earlier. He'll be playing
(01:40:28):
in the Q League with Halifax mooseheads over in Newfoundland
against the Regiment this weekend. Five forty to go, third period,
Halifax skating that puck up toward the red line. Both
teams again making some changes here, Halifax working in to
the backhand. Love It got a good shot away and
Newman made the save. As love It got in tight,
(01:40:50):
put a backhander in on goal. Newman makes the save.
Here's a chance. Now Odell takes it in tight. Newman
makes the save. Odell back on that puck and Valley
able to get it out of the zone. Good sequence.
There in a couple of big saves again from Newman.
Now right back to it and again is Nate McKay.
McKay puts on the brakes from the right wing, try
(01:41:11):
to feed it back to the point, but it goes
all the way down to Chandler Bell in the Halifax goal.
Under five minutes to play in the third, three to one.
Halifax leads in this very entertaining game on a Wednesday night,
all part of Hockey Fights Cancer Night. Here at the
Halifax form Halifax Max send it ahead for Nate McKay.
(01:41:32):
McKay in a foot race. There's lucas Arnold. Arnold gets
to that puck, tries to get around who's a chuku,
gives a little shove to use a chuku and the
puck goes down into the mag zone. Wildcats making some
changes here. Puck came over toward the Wildcats bench, now
into the high slot of wild bouncing puck. Hunter Hood
(01:41:52):
had the puck come to him, got a shot away,
put it just wide. Four twenty to go in the third,
Haverstock off the wall and that'll force Hendrik Gerred to
chase after it, but not before it goes the length
of the ice for an icing call against the Valley Wildcats,
down to four thirteen to play third period, Halifax leading
(01:42:17):
it again. Just a reminder, they don't post the shots
on goal in the forum here, at least they aren't tonight,
so I can't give you that update, but I can
tell you that again three to one, Halifax Wildcats down
by two. Looking to my right, I see the goaltender
for the Wildcats, Maddox Newman, cleaning his crease there with
the goal stick, using it like a swiffer. I'm sure
(01:42:40):
he's wondering when he may get taken out of the
net here for the extra attacker, but for now, the
face off is down in the Halifax end of the ice,
to the left of Chandler Bell. Big offensive zone face
off here for the Wildcats, and it goes off to
the boards. On the right side. Down low is Jesseson
Claire Sinclair fighting for that puck in the corner. Joe
(01:43:05):
Breen is there, getting some help from his teammate Sam Fleming,
but comes forth the front of the goal, just off
the stick of number twenty one. I believe that was Bets.
It was duty two, Excuse me, not twenty one. Nate
Betts had a glorious chance in front and just couldn't
settle it. Wildcats again to the right point, long shot there.
(01:43:25):
Newman still in the goal, so we're still five a side.
Jesse Sinclair takes a hit down low as Blake Bootler
stepped into him. Taking a hit. There was Fleming, but
he's able to get the puck out of his own.
Here's Joe Breen gains the Wildcats zone. Breen feeds it
out in front, couldn't quite connect with River Welch. Now
(01:43:46):
out of the puck is Fleming for the while, excuse
me for the max jumping again. Fleming tried to backhand
it in toward the front of the goal. Carter Sullivan
was there, clared away. There's another chance down tight as
the puck came in there and Elsh flipped it up
over the goaltenders pad behind the net. Under three minutes
to play. Here in the third, Halifax flips the puck
(01:44:08):
into the Wildcat zone. Both teams changing it up here
fresh gators out for both sides. Halifax has the puck
in the Wildcats end of the ice. Two forty five
to go. Newman waiting. MJ. Bottomley with a nice move.
Another nice move. Bottomly tried to go top corner to
the blocker side and again Newman just got enough with
(01:44:28):
that blocker to deflect the shot into the corner. Good
work though from Bottomly, who has the puck now for Halifax. MJ.
Bottomley jumps around his man. Bottomly one on four, gets
knocked down, fed the puck through the side of the
goal and just out the other side. My goodness, m J.
Bottomly dipping, diving, swirling all over the ice. Goodness me
(01:44:59):
two empty to go and a penalty call here against
the Valley Wildcats. I'll see if I can catch the
number of the player. No, my vision obstructed just enough,
but I can't see the Wildcats player. He went to
the bench while I was looking down towards the Wildcats goal.
(01:45:22):
So now that changes things significantly. Right now, even if
the Wildcats pulled their goalie, it would just be five
on five. So it's a five on four power play
for the Max. As they looked assaulted away here with
two zero five to go, Guinnish lost the puck. Isaac
Connelly tried to jump over Guinnish and fell. Wildcats fans
(01:45:45):
won a penalty, but there isn't one. Liver cuts to
the middle, whips a shot tried to go near post
and send it wide bottomly on the puck now doing
good work down low, sends it back there. Tree Win
sends it download to bottomly bottomly has this's taken out
from under him as Jacob Sleeman's seeming assuna stepped into him.
(01:46:05):
One thirty five to go Max on the power play,
Guinish dishes off to the right bottom he walks in.
His shot from that right circle went off of skating
over to their left point. Guinish slides it back near side.
Treewin tried to get a shot through it hit a
skate another shot there and I think Newman got a
piece of that Max buzzing here. On the power play.
(01:46:25):
With one fifteen to go, Ginnish walks in and rifles
it past the goaltender. Great pace on that shot and
Jack's Guinish has his second of the game, eighth of
the year, and that should just about do it. That
(01:46:47):
should be the insurance that the Max were looking for
and got on the power play. So Guinish gets his
eighth of the air, second of the game, and with
one twelve to go in the third period, the Halifax
Max now have a little more breathing room it's four
(01:47:09):
to one and a time out called here by the
Valley Wildcats. So while I have a moment, I'll let
you know that in Nova Scotia, one in seven households
struggles with food insecurity. Feed Nova Scotia is working to
change that. They're helping provide food to over one hundred
(01:47:30):
and fifty food banks, meal programs and shelters across the province.
And you can help. You can donate food, money or
your time to make a difference, and you can learn
more at feed Nova Scotia dot CA. Well I talked
earlier when it was three to one about the timing
(01:47:50):
of head coach of the Wildcats, Scott Trask, pulling his
goaltender Maddox Newman to get the extra attacker out to
get something going. When it was three to one. Then
Wildcats took a penalty, Jack's Ginnish scored a power play
a goal to make it four to one, and that
(01:48:10):
kind of change of the dynamic. However, coming out of
the time out, Wildcats do indeed pull the goalie, so
empty net six on five Wildcats, sixty three seconds to go,
and why not head coach Scott Trask? Why not Wildcats
on the puck, try to get it back to the
left point. It goes past Bets and everybody has to
(01:48:32):
clear the zone. Wildcats will send it ahead, It'll go
all the way down. Chandler Bell gets it and snaps
it up along the wall. Bets keeps it in at
the blue line, puck into the air. Bets just keeps
it in. But it comes to the red line where
it's gathered there by Seamen for the Wildcats. Thirty three
seconds to go. Value different here from the Wildcats on
(01:48:54):
a Wednesday night, but it's the Max with the four
to one lead, just twenty four seconds away from running
their record to a perfect seventeen to zero, and just
seventeen seconds to go. Now as the puck came outside
the zone and back in, so play whistled and we'll
have a face off, just kind of a formality now
(01:49:17):
with just seventeen seconds to go. I mean, anything can happen,
but three goals in seventeen seconds, well that would be
something to witness. But one of the things I love
about sports, never say never off the face off. Wildcat's
control puck at the red line. Arnold sends it down
(01:49:37):
below the goal line. Under ten seconds to go Wildcats
tried to feed it in front, Max covering up there.
Good play by Haverstock and as the puck goes into
the corner, the buzzer will sound and this game has
come to a conclusion and it's the Halifax Max on
Hockey Fights Cancer Night. They put on a good show.
(01:49:59):
They their record to a perfect seventeen to zero on
the season, now up to thirty four points on the
air the Valley Wildcats. An excellent effort by this Valley side.
They were in it all along. The power play goal
by Halifax kind of sealed it in the late stages.
But full Marx to the Wildcats. But they do see
their record now fall to twelve wins, ten losses and
(01:50:22):
one overtime loss. Still with that twenty five points, but
again a good one here and a special night at
the Halifax Forum. Carter Meira was here. He was honored
before the game. They did chuck a puck. Lots of
funds raised for Hockey Fights Cancer and cancer research. I
want to thank you very much for tuning in. It's
been a pleasure to bring you this broadcast. Jax Guinnish
(01:50:46):
is the FFM Radio Player of the Game for the
Halifax Max and Morgan Fleming the lone goal scorer for Valley.
He had a great game. He is the FFM Radio
player of the game for the Valley wild Cats. Chandler
Bell gets to win. His record goes to nine and
oho and the Max again seventeen and oh they get
(01:51:07):
the victory. A hard fought victory though, but they do
indeed close the deal. So we'll sign off from the
Halifax Forum. Thanks so much for tuning in. Scott Squire
is saying so long, be well, enjoy the rest of
your evening and we will look forward to bringing you
more games down the road. But until then, enjoy the
rest of your evening. Once again, your final score from

One good night from the historic Halifax Forum.
