Speaker 1 (00:00):
Time now for your Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Athlete Spotlight very pleased to be joined by Logan Tree,
one of the Halifax Max. His team got a big
ten one victory this evening over the March and Milkow Hunters. Logan,
congratulations on the win. You opened up the scoring. Walk
me through that goal.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
Thank you? Yeah, I know. It was a great play
Bio Dell, good vision and he found me coming down
the slot and it's fortunate enough to rip that one
past Hunter's goalie there.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
This team is so relentless shift after shift. It seems
that this team never takes a shift off. Where does
that relentless effort come from?
Speaker 3 (00:38):
You know, it's coming from standards that we have in
the room, standards that we've set and want to push
each other to be better every day. And that goes
not just every day every shift.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
So yeah, what does it mean to you when you
pull on that Halifax Max jersey with the white and
the gold and the red.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Yeah, you know, it's an honor. It's an awesome jersey
and an awesome team we have here, great staff and
every time we put it on it means something. And
we play for the logo on the front.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
As you guys started to pull away in this game,
I noticed still that the effort was there, shift after shift.
What kind of conversations do you have on the bench
with your teammates and your coaches to make sure that
you stay locked in and keep the pressure on even
if you're up by a few goals.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Yeah, we want to keep each other accountable and no
matter the score, you know, keep the habits in the
right place and keep doing what we preach every day.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Last game, I interviewed your teammate River Welsh when he
scored that late shorthanded goal to give you guys a
three two win over Subaru. He had his first ever
Nova Scotia a team Major Hockey League hat trick tonight.
What do you think about your teammate River Welsh.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
I mean, very clutch goal there last game, and he's
quite the player and a great guy. Happy for him
to get that hat trick tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
You play on the back end one of your teammates,
Jack's Ginnish. That guy loves to fly down the ice sometimes.
I think he's a forward more than a defense one.
What's it like having him on your team?
Speaker 4 (02:06):
It's definitely something.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
I mean, I play with him a lot and it's
it's fun to watch, but it can be nerve wracking
at times, but he always finds a way to get back.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
If no one's ever seen you play logan, how would
you describe your game?
Speaker 3 (02:18):
I think I'm a two way defenceman, someone who's not
afraid to, you know, get in there, block shots, do
the gritty work.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Game day meals. I'm always curious what athletes like to
eat on game day. What's your game day go to?
Speaker 4 (02:29):
I'm a big chicken and rice guy.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
I've loved the sweet potato As of late, my mom's
been making that a lot, so I'll throw that in
time to time.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
Is it nice when you got mom can make some
sweet potato for you? Awesome? What about snack time?
Speaker 2 (02:41):
I know athletes don't like to get into the snacks
too much, but let's say you get a day off
and you're not worried about anything other than getting something
to have to sit on the couch watch a game
or movie.
Speaker 4 (02:50):
What are you grabbing out of the cupboard or out
of the fridge.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
It's kind of a weird one, but I'm a huge
yogurt guy. I love yogurt, so I'll look for that
in the fridge. But I like, I like cheese it's
and stuff like that.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
So do you ever put cheese it's in the yogurt.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
I haven't tried that one yet, maybe else to give
it a try.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
Give it a go.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
I gotta ask because there's so many flavors of yogurt.
Do you have like a favorite flavor or whatever's there.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
I'm a huge lemon guy, libertayled.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
Lemon libertail it kind of tastes like lemo rang pie. Right, yep, yep,
I've had that before. A good call.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Well listen, Logan, congratulations on the goal, tonight on the wind,
and good luck the rest of the season.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
