Speaker 1 (00:00):
Time now for your Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia
Athlete spotlight.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
For you, please be joined by Sam Ryan from Steele Suberu.
Sam had two goals, including the game winner and the
empty netter or to salt it away. Sam, First of all,
just your thoughts on overall on the game today.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
I thought we played good, definitely got better as the
game went on and found a way to get the win.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
So yeah, four to four late in the game, you
find the puck on your stick. Kind of walked me
through that go ahead an eventual game winning goal.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
Oh yeah, they just dumped it in to our end.
I was the first one back, so I picked it
up and I just saw a lane and went down
all the way and found a way to get it in.
So yeah, it was nice.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
When was the last time you scored the game winner
and then the empty netter right after? I think that
was the first for me. So this was a very
good Valley Wildcats team that you played today. You were
two points behind them in the standings coming in. Maybe
just a word about your opponent the wild Cats today.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
Yeah, good team, Like we have a good rivalry and
yeah we're gonna be bad win for a spot for
this next place the whole season.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
So yeah, this really was a back and forth game.
Lots of lead changes, lots of gameplay during tie scores
two to two, three, three, four to four. What's the
messaging from the coaches on the bench and what are
you guys saying to one another as players on the bench.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
We just got to stay positive and if they score,
get one back and just yes, stay positive, encourage each
other and try to make the right play.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
I'm always curious about game day meals. What's your go to?
I always just get chicken alfredo.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
My dad makes a good one, So just a tradition
I've had for a couple of years now.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
All right, what makes your dad's chicken alfredo so good? Hello?
You must do something special with it? And uh okay,
it's cheat day. You're allowed to have any kind of
snack that you want. What are you going to the
what are you going to grab out of the kitchen? Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Definitely, after a big one like this, I might get
some pizza on me.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
What are you having on the pizza? I gotta see.
These are the questions, the hard hitting questions. What are
you having on that pizza?
Speaker 3 (02:03):
Sam gotta have just pepperoni, cheese and then ranch on
the side.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
The ranch makes it favorite team, favorite player, Oh Colorado
and McKinnon just because hometown kid.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
So yeah, all right, this is the last one. Netflix
or Disney.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
Plus definitely Netflix just always just been since I was
a kid.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
So yeah, fair enough. Listen to Sam Ryan. Congratulations on
the game winning goal and of course the empty netter
as well, and good luck the rest of the season.
