Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, hey, don't list to play Flurry Sports will save
your day joke Swiss Sports inside sack can shake say
get it right? Fuck you?
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Hello and welcome to the season finale of the Flurry
Sports Podcast, Season ten. It's been quite the season, Jake.
It's been an interesting season. In my opinion, we enjoy
our seasons without football. Yeah, you know, we have an
on season and then an off season. This was the
off season. I gotta say, we've had some really fun moments.
(00:46):
We've had some really good stuff. I'm not sure what
all we've accomplished in season ten, is that fair to say?
I was looking back at some of the titles and
stuff we've done, and this season went by fast. I
feel like I'll bring up the titles right now. I
feel like they could have been last week. You know
(01:06):
what I mean?
Speaker 3 (01:07):
Yeah, absolutely, yeah, Well as you do that. I mean,
we introduced the game segment, which I think has been
true fun. Uh we I don't know why this text
event the one week you were sick, Emily and I
said a record for longest episode.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
That's true. That's that's saying something.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Actually, that's nude. That's an achievement.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Yeah, yeah, that doesn't come along very often, considering we
usually say, hey, a short episode, and then it's.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
An hour and a half or so we put out
a banger. Now, Emily and I had a full forty
five minute conversation and then launched into a full Disney
into your list ranking, which.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
As you do. But yeah, season premiere. We started with
Joe Leonard who so we started during March Madness, So
I guess it has been a while. Episode two Oyster Snatchers.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Remember that logo, Yeah, that came about it, all right,
that can't be real.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
But then episode three, and again this could have been
last week we played Kansas or India geo guesser, Yeah,
that was early season. And then we you know, we
got our hands dirty with the lawsuits with the NCAA,
as we do. We did real journalism there that was
abnormal and good. And then we gave NFL yay for sure.
(02:29):
Then we gave NFL draft grades before the NFL Draft.
No one's doing it but us. Congratulations to us. And
I haven't looked. I think we nailed it.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
I know we killed it. I know we nailed it.
We said the Ravens and the Eagles were gonna be
the the big winners, and we were correct.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
I mean, yeah, No stra damis or common sense. I'm
not sure which one, maybe both. Maybe no dominance should
be just famous for his common sense. Then we did
we ranked wrestlemane matches. That's the one thing. I feel like,
it feels forever ago. Wesmania feels forever ago. Kansas versus
India Geo guesser feels like last week. So I'm not
(03:10):
sure what time or space is for us at this
current moment. Then heats up north of China once again.
That was food guesser. That could have been last week.
That was very confusing. Then it goes one hundred one
grilla versus one hundred men. Then it goes Dublin, Wisconsin.
(03:30):
Like I We've talked about so many weird things this season,
so I can't order them in my mind. But it's
been a good one.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
And the fact that they're separate episodes.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
True, it all feels like one long episode.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Which is correct. And and listen, yeah, Camp was in
that span we had like camp talk, we've been building
half the Fair, which just happened.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
I know it's I think here's here's an instant thing.
I just stumbled upod I did this. I looked at
the titles ahead of time, but now I'm just realizing this. Dublin,
Wisconsin in Missing No Wisconsin are two different episodes, separated
by about a month.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Correct, correct? Yep?
Speaker 2 (04:16):
What happened between there?
Speaker 3 (04:18):
We really revisited it. Yeah, well, I mean what happened
in there? Nothing by the way we set up there. Yeah,
that's what happened. We set up our big look into it,
episode one, set up episode two payoff, and that payoff
is you you you really survived an encounter.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Yeah. A legitimate month between them, though, because in between
we drafted our flag football team, and then we did
an episode where we played some sporkle quizzes did every
two thousand starting quarterback, which was tough.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
That that was tough. I still think of now I'm
gonna forget his name, but I still think of Chad
Pennington once in a while, like and Mark Bulger.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
True, what do you think of Mark Bulger? You jump
a little bit. It's it's yeah, it's weirder. That is true.
He's a weird one to just randomly remember.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
And go, yep, two thousands, for sure. Mark Bulger feels
older than Kurt Warner.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Way older, yeah, way older. He feels like I'm playing
an old Madden game and he's on every single team
for some reason. I'm like, gosh, shit, I forgot that
he's this quarterback. I can't believe you need to run
the ball every time.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
Yeah. Mark Boulger is six years younger than Kurt Warner.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
That's wild.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
Yeah, and I know what it is. Kurt Warner played
ten years longer.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Yeah, he went to Arizona after and whatever, but still
his best run. True. Yeah, everyone remembers that one fondly,
actually kind of true.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Yeah. Then nothing really else happened. Dare I say Grimmas
never strikes twice? The NBA Draft is Wednesday, everybody loves holes.
And then last week, of course everyone remembers Ben Macklemore
or Macklemore So, I mean, one of the best titles
of the season. I gotta say, I.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Do like that title A lot. No, a lot happened.
I think the thing that was most jarring is like,
I do feel like this season was two seasons, which
is pre like March Madness until the end of March Madness,
and then what do we talk about once March Madness
was over? We're like, oh, the NBA and NHL stink.
(06:40):
Baseball is long, and the draft was over, maybe even
up until the draft, and then post draft it's been like, sure,
we're making it. We're full nonsense mode, which I do love.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
I do love, and you know it's we're gonna love
even more. We're going on break. So this is the
season finale, as we announced a couple of weeks ago,
discovered a couple of weeks ago. So this is the
season finale with peace and love. This is a serious message.
We are back on August. We'll record either August twenty
(07:12):
fourth or twenty fifth for coming back that week. So
if you want to stay tuned live, we'll announce it
on my Twitter or Jake Twitter. Maybe the big announcement
will be out at Jacobus and yeah, let's do that.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
That's a great idea. Still move to Blue Sky.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
No, I mean, I'm not sure if anyone's still there
over there, but it's an interesting place. But yes, So
that is a one week before NFL Week one. That's
going to be the week in between the last preseason
week in the first NFL week, so we will obviously
(07:47):
give a bunch of NFL predictions that week. I assume
we will go over some of the biggest headlines, some
of the biggest things we've missed. The Cleveland Browns have
another Felon on their team, and who knows who the
next one's going to be, So I mean, there's going
to be plenty to cover there. Yeah, honestly, that's coming
up soon. But stay tuned into the Flurry Sports YouTube channel.
(08:10):
Not just to tune into that live stream when we're
back for season eleven, but Jake might be doing some
things about baseball and other things like that there. I
am going to be doing some things for fantasy football,
but I'm also playing college football twenty six over there
as well. That just came out and Jake's about to
get it. I have it. It's certainly an interesting game.
(08:32):
Trevor says, NHL stinks, Jake should know better. NHL does stink.
But it's good quality, you know what I mean. It's
a bad sport, No, no, it's a terrible Yeah, it's
a terrible league. Good sport.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Absolutely. I'm never bummed when I watch it. For the
love of God, you know, get some promotion in there.
You know.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
It's like saying college football is great n CUAA stinks.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
Yeah, Hi to be wild in the chat. Appreciate you
being here. I will you know what, Trevor, since you
got in there, I'll share this with you. This is true.
And I forgot to tell second about this because Trevor
reminded me of it. Now. I had a dream that
Trevor was in or should I say a nightmare because
I real life dream. I had a dream that there
was like an article came out that was like that
(09:23):
was like ranking all these things about sports media, and
it was all these different categories and one of the
categories was like five funniest sports podcasters and I was like.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
I know.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
It was like I know, I know, flu sports probably
isn't big enough that they thought of me, so I'll
just give it a check it. I wasn't in there,
but Trevor was. And then I wild woke up, startled.
I was like no, no.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
No, no, no, no, cold Sweat could be.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
Like Trevor.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Me.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
But such a specific dream that I just remember, so no, no, Shane,
Trevor and it's you are very funny. It's just that
I think that was like my ego and it's purest form.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Yeah, really we see where you where you sit in
your mind, at least for.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
Well, it was I thought I did wake up and
I was like, that is a good joke, braid because
I thought it was a very simple setup, which is
I was like, it's a bummer, They're not gonna know
about flurry sports because we're very funny. And then actually
the true horror was that they did know about flurry Sports,
but they thought Trevor was funnier than I was.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Yeah, oh that that Yeah, oh no, they actually like me.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
Okay, yeah, like they're like, we've watched the product and
we've come to a conclusion. This is the funny guy.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
That's you know what. That gives you something to work towards,
you know what I mean. We got the off season
coming up season eleven. Jake's out to prove that he
is funnier than Trevor with every single episode we do.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
And also, I know it's a dream because if I
was crafting that, it would have been like Emily and Hannah's.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Name right for sure? Yeah, oh no, the I don't
think so podcast is the funnier sports podcast? Yeah for sure?
How's that even possible? You got us on terrifying and
NHL does thing and what's up to be wild? So
who says Kaka in the chat? Love that love that
(11:19):
keeper coming with those banger comments? Okay, so uh, College
Football twenty six just came out and Jake wants to
discuss about it because maybe he's not sure if he
wants to get the game. Maybe he's not sure what's
going on.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
I am on the fence, and here's why I I
I like sports video games. They are basically the only
games I play consistently. Like I got this is also
revealing of me. But I got Red Dead Redemption too
this year and great game. I can't finish it. I
just can't string together enough.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
You have to finish it. That's the best. It's such
a good story. You gotta finish good.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
And every once in a while, ago I play this
for another two hours, probably hunt a couple of animals,
or I could go for say yag in MLB The
Show twenty three. But that's the whole deal. Is I
get like sports video games once every three years typically sure,
because I don't need Maden. If I am Mad twenty five,
(12:18):
I don't need Man twenty six. Alternate every couple of years.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
That's what I used to do. Lately, I've been getting
every Madden this year. I'll stay the statement live right now,
not getting Madden whatsoever. I'm fully out. I gave them
one last chance last year and they fucked me over.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
So this is where I'm at is I don't want
NCAA to just be Madden with a different paint job.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Yes, yes, and what I will say, and I haven't
played in a few days, so I got it the
early release and now it's out to everybody, so I
assume there's been some patches on the game. But what
I will say is this, the gameplay, just like the
on field gameplay stuff, feels more like Madden than it
(13:06):
feels like last year's college football, I think, or at
least in the middle, which I don't like. Like before
it was kind of Arcadie like super fast, and I
like that. It's less that this year. It's slower, and
I think they'll fix this, but it's ridiculously glitchy. If
you go to the Floury Sports YouTube channel, there's a
short that I posted of me and Luke playing. I
(13:27):
think I intercepted one of his passes and then I
was running it back. We're just dicking around, and I
pitched it to my guy and I threw the ball
about fifty yards directly into the air. When I pitched
it to my guy, like, we're like, where the fuck
is the ball? And then I fielded it like a
punt like it was. Yes, there's too much glitching crap.
And again I assume they're gonna patch that it's gonna
(13:50):
be fixed. So it is what it is.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
Oh, but listen, that's games in general. Now. They're putting
them out too fast.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
First, I will say, though, it's not like the the Actually,
maybe I was gonna say it's not like the release
dates snuck up on them, because it's the same thing
every year essentially. However, Luke and I were talking about this.
I feel like they didn't market this game whatsoever.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
No, but I don't know if they need to.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
They probably don't. But like last year, it came back
right so that all the hype was there, but they
were marketing it and it's cool. This time, I was like, oh,
it comes out next week, Okay, yes, I'll get it.
To your point, I was gonna get it no matter what.
But like, I feel like they didn't market it. Gameplay
I think is worse. However, if you were in the
(14:40):
Dynasty mode, which I assume you are, Yeah, because that's
the whole thing. If you get this game way more detailed,
everything's more detailed, and it's tougher, which is good. Last time,
like you win the National Championship year one, you unlock everything.
It's easy peasy. This time, it's harder to get five
star recruits. It's harder to keep five star recruits, or
(15:01):
like the good players on your team, they're just going
to transfer if you don't play them. People get hurt
more often, they get worn down more often. It's so
much more detailed and so much better. And you can
play as Delaware, which could be the biggest selling point
of all. There's a couple of more teams, not Montana yet,
which I'm upset about.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
But.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Gameplay wise worse. Everything else I think is better. That's
what I would say.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
I think. I think that's a good call. I will
say I ended up probably playing more broad to Glory
last time, so maybe.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
That that is better too. I started to play that
you started in like high school. I'm playing that's the classic.
That's what I guess. You're gonna love this. I play
for regis pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (15:51):
You either die a hero or live long enough to
become a Catholic.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
It is cool. Like you select uh, your state, your
city or whatever, and then it's type in your high school.
So I typed in Regis and chose a green team.
But you play like and again this is so surface
level detail, but it is kind of cool, like my
opponents are different, Like I played Sussex and then I
played sun Prairie Like that's cool. I guess it's cool,
(16:19):
Like it doesn't matter. It's not like their logo or
colors or anything, but it felt good.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
Yeah, and that's kind of detailed, Like Okay, that does
sell me on a little bit. Because here's what I'll
say about the Road to Glory mode is I was
getting nervous because I didn't want what I could very
much see EA taking like, oh, what trends did we
see from last one? Well, everyone said in Road to
Glory like every once in a while, it's so fucking
hard to play some of these positions. That's good. Don't
(16:48):
make it easier because like if you set, Yeah, the
high school mode is good because if you came in set,
like top Class came in with good ratings on whatever
position you want us the offensive ones you were good
right away. You like, there's no development at all. So
I've even tried. The one time my last playthrough, I
(17:11):
was like, is it possible for me not to be
a starter at running back by the end of a
season anyway? And no, you can get so much like
XP through those drills they give you, Yeah, and you're
good at them automatically, So that's good. I think the
details are good. Here's what I'm worried about is, like, again,
these games come out every year like clockwork. Sports games
(17:32):
for a long time have always struggled to like, we
want to give you the game modes you like, but
also like maybe NC double A will get into this.
I guess the appeal always with Madden was the ratings
change and the players change a bit every year NC
double A. Am I gonna pick up a new game
(17:54):
because this year arch Manning is gonna be like better?
Speaker 2 (17:58):
You know, I don't know, right, I would argue that
the roster and everything changes much more, and like teams
score and all of that, Like overall, I feel like
that changes much more than what Madden would.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
One hundred percent. I just don't know who they are
you know, so it's players and that comes down to
marketing it.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Like honestly, I've played the game for maybe four nights,
like a lot of time just thinking, like I'm just
honestly trying to remember. I don't know who's on the cover,
Like I can't even picture. I can't even remember who
it is. I'm almost positive it's not Arch Manning, which
feels like a flat Oh no, no, no, it might
(18:44):
be that Ohio State kid. I can't remember his name.
I think it's the Ohio State receiver.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
There are two folks on the cover, but I don't
recognize one of them. Correct, Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
Yes, he's a dog, he's so good.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
And Alabama wide receiver Ryan.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
Williams, gotcha. Yeah, and.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
Truly who are probably two of the best they in college.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
Yeah, they're very good. But to your point, they didn't
market it, and then they also they just need to
tell us who's good, like who are the stars? I know,
running into NHL's problem a little bit, tell us who's.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
Good, because I feel like they're still marketing these games
like name, image, likeness, it doesn't exist, you know, because
that's what they used to do was like, oh, none,
these players are on here and they need to not
do that. They need to market some of these players.
My skepticism is maybe they don't want to play pay
some of these guys.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
I'm sure.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
Because listen, you know a game I'm really excited about
and this was gonna be my comparison. Is my only
hesitation buying this game is I my pre order and
I'm my pre order college basketball?
Speaker 2 (20:05):
See you say that? Do you know a year that
comes out? No, that's why I haven't they announced that.
Everyone was super excited. I locked onto one thing very quickly.
Release date twenty twenty eight. Okay, why do you no?
No way twenty twenty eight. Yeah, it's not coming soon
anybody half the college players in the league. That's crazy
(20:28):
NCAA right now, they could be dead at that point,
like we don't know because they don't make it the
NBA and they're never heard of again. So that's why
they announce it.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
Why did they announce it? Also, that's so interesting to
me that they I'm assuming now I'm going to make
a big accusation here. That's pretty telling that they didn't
think NCAA football would be as it seems to be
riding off that success. Well, did you not think it
(21:01):
was going.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
To be right?
Speaker 3 (21:04):
That colossal right?
Speaker 2 (21:06):
And everyone's been pushing for that to come back. Also,
it's just we need colleg football backs. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
Like, first listen, I'm gonna say this, like it's a
bad thing about the NC Double A because I don't
like the way that NC DOUBLEA does a lot of
their practices. But it's probably natural that this is a metric.
I'm sure they're doing the math of like we know
the game will be good, but we have to pay
a lot of people now, like we already have to
pay all these athletes in the pros. Is it worth
(21:34):
whatever money we make that we now have to pay
college kids? And the answer is, and they have to
pay a lot of them. They have to pay a
lot of them. I don't want to totally minimize that
aspect because, like, say what you want about the NIL rulings,
especially the most recent ones from judges and how they
should be better and how they're so bad, the baseline
(21:54):
is people are going to get some form of payment
going forward. And when you got fucking you know, University
of Alabama Birmingham in your games, like you've got a
lot of people you need to pay.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Yeah, yeah, I completely agree.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
I love ending up on UAB. By the way, UAB
and Western Michigan are frequent flyers for where I end up.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
For my road to Glory. I think I was Air
Force and Bowling Green last year.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
Yeah. Well they're like they're like the worst, uh, like
big schools you can end up on. I feel like
I ended up in the military a lot.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
Yeah. Hey, they said they liked my grit, and I
you know, I responded to it.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
It's good.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
Yes, I will say road to Glory. The recruiting thing
is completely different this year. It's cool, obviously, but it's good.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Yeah, so that I will probably get this game, especially
now influenced by the fact that I could say for
three years before the basketball game comes out.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
So yeah, yeah, that's good.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
But yeah, it's just interesting to me that it's like,
I think sporting fandom, like the NFL has never been
more popular, and I feel like the opinion of Madden
has never been lower.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
Agreed one hundred percent, especially when they had to compete
directly with a much better football game from the exact
same company, Like there's no reason. So it's like, okay,
so there's no reason for Madden to be this bad.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
Exactly, And by the way, you can do all the
same game modes.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
Yeah, they're still it's completely different on Madden. Still. Again,
we're getting really into the weeds. But this really pissed
Luke and I off. You can play like squads like
Luke and I can be on the exact same team
in Madden and be the Baltimore Ravens in college football.
The only way to do that is to be your
ultimate team thing, which is the pay to play shit. Yeah, like,
(23:51):
I can't. We can't just both be on the Badgers
right now and play another person. What's the point? Like,
it's so easy. They added play this year, which is
something they should have done ten years ago. Yeah, but
it's so stupid.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
But it's all listen, it's EA, like EA famous for
pay to play bullshit. So right, that sucks. But Madden
for years has refused to improve. I don't know why
they haven't tweaked any of their game modes. I like,
I remember distinctly, I don't. I know this game mode
(24:28):
wasn't great, but now I admire it. They won here.
I think they only did it one year. They did
like the here's the moments from the last NFL season
you can try and recreate. And that was the only
Madden game I bought for a long time because it's
the only different game mode. Just give me something every year.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
I think they like translated that, they like parlayed it
into Ultimate Team, where it's like, okay, now you just
do that shit in Ultimate Team, which is whatever. It's
just I don't need to grind if I don't want
to grind. I don't want to grind it, like, let
me just play what I want to play, correct.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
And so I don't know. And like I said, I
like the show, but the show doesn't have to worry
about half of that ship because the appeal of the shows.
You're either into the Ultimate Team stuff with collecting players
and doing stuff or building teams, or Baseball just on
its own, and naturally the Baseball's farm system makes those
games more interesting, like you can play they can update
(25:23):
it every year, and it's always a little different because
the teams vary so much in quality, and you're never
gonna play on every fucking farm team, like you know,
so so many different things, and you can play every
position like right football, you know, listen, I still haven't
(25:43):
made a run through a cornerback.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
It's hard, you know, impossible. I'm thinking about shrying linebacker
and that's gonna be tough. Cornerback would be impossible.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
Brutal, brutal. You can't, you can't do it. I do
miss the old man in days where they'd let me
grind it out at noseguard.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
Honestly, if they let me do offensive line, I would
do it in our beat. I'd have so much fun
with it. Or full back. Just let me play full back,
just full back. I don't want to get too fast
to play halfback. I just want to lead, block through
my head and h into people. That's all I want
to do.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
Uh. The last CFB game before this comeback, that was
my go to position was full back, making myself ninety
nine overall and then just dominate ones every ten plays.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Yeah, exactly. When your number is called, it's showtime. It's great.
Speaker 3 (26:30):
You can control. It's like, okay, we need a first down,
but I'm a fucking fullback, so I guess I better
get ten yards on this fullback dive. It's the only
audible I got that gives me the ball.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
True, true, Yeah, Because if you lead block, who knows,
and this is real life. Halfback needsers follow your ass
through the whole and sometimes they're going to bounce it
because I think they're faster. It's just not gonna work.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
They think they see something. Yeah, isn't that the truth?
Well that was that's been video game talk, Zach. Wait,
we got other stuff we want to get to today.
But I'll I will get the game by the time
we come back. I'll have a full review and it'll
be college football season. So I wonder if they'll do
a renewed push patch the game, push it for CFB.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
Season maybe, but I mean that's out and now the
next push I think is gonna be for Madden, because
they got to get people to buy Madden.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
Well, last year's Madden push was would you like to
bundle it with your college football game.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
Which is what they're doing this year too. You get
a discount even still, no, thank you, I'm good, Thanks,
I'll get it later.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
Maybe I never played Madden.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
I did it too. We played it a little bit,
not much, not enough. It's not good. Okay, Well, last
week we debuted a new game that's been taking over
the internet. This is really is not relevant.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
That's right, this is the most thing ever to really
get into something the week before the season ends.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
Yeah, well we're gonna we gotta we gotta play it
out and we gotta get back and we got a
workshop and so we are playing once again. And we
still have come up with a good name because if
you were listening watching whatever, I think that is what
you guys can help us with the most. Other than
there's certain people in the Flory sports sphere industry, like
(28:17):
not just on the Flory Sports team, but people that
could be adjacent to Florid Sports that you'd like to
see play this game. Let us know and maybe they
can come on the show and you know, step up
to the plate and see what score they get. But
we are going to be doing the NBA salary game
that does the work shopping title. I suppose last week
(28:38):
Jake gave me an NBA player because the NBA salaries
are ridiculous. I mean, want the average value, average annual
value of their salaries, and then I had to name
NFL players to get up to that amount. We started
to tinker with it in real time in terms of
adding a little challenges and stuff like that, and now
this week I am going to be giving Jake players,
(29:02):
and Jake is going to be playing the game himself.
Are you ready, Jake?
Speaker 3 (29:08):
I'm ready, and I'm I'm gonna name I just want
to make sure i'm naming baseball. I'm naming football players.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
I think football just because baseball is too comparable basketball.
Speaker 4 (29:19):
I agree, Yeah, yeah, Okay, let's start with So I'm
gonna go to I'm gonna have it up on the screen.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
This is not what we did last time, just so
people can it's a little visual cue here. Let's start
with Giannis. How about that?
Speaker 3 (29:33):
Okay, how about that?
Speaker 2 (29:35):
You are hitting fifty seven zero seventy eight, So fifty
seven point one is what we'll say, million dollars per year.
But now you have to give NFL players. And since
it's the warm up round, there's no specifications, let's just
see if you can get within eight million. How about that?
Speaker 3 (29:55):
Okay, I am going to try warm up round. I
just want to get a read, so I'm gonna go
really high and just see how close I get and
hopefully get a bearing. I think the position that's gonna
be most helpful for me to know is wide receiver.
(30:17):
And I know you did some of these guys last week.
I know Justin Jefferson makes a hell of a lot
since his new extension. So see how close Justin Jefferson's
annual gets me.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
Okay, and it will be pretty darn high. We'll get
you all the way there. But his average annual doesn't
give me. I don't think that's correct. What's the I'm
just trying to figure out the because average. I guess
(30:50):
that's right. Fine, thirty five thirty five million is his
average salary.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
Yeah, that is what I took last week.
Speaker 2 (30:58):
Yeah, okay, so you are twenty two point one million
away now after Justin Jefferson.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
Okay, so that feels pretty good. That's good to know.
I have to keep that in mind because that's probably
a little less than Jamar Chase now, but good to
know that that's the ballpark for top end wide receiver.
Let's go. So, I know, so this game, the more
(31:27):
we played a little bit of advantage because I know
some ballparks from last week with you. So since it's
the practice round, I want to flex that a little bit.
I'm within twenty two.
Speaker 2 (31:40):
Million, twenty two point one yep, I think.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
I'm oh, I might just over if I do Saquon.
I'm really really close with Saquon, so I'm gonna do
Derrick Henry.
Speaker 2 (31:55):
Okay, I think you would have been right there. This
is just you remembering. I think you would have been
just under I think you would have been fine. Yeah,
Derrick Henry, you'll be okay for sure. I'm not sure
you'll be Derrick Henry fifteen not bad. He just got
that new contract. So with an eight million, you're good
(32:16):
to go. Seven point one. Let's see how close you
can get, though, because it's the practice round.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
Well seven point one, and just to display the folks
something that I think is a good strategy, that we're
right in rookie territory. So I think from this last draft, now, Zach,
would I want to go? A rookie that was drafted
this year would I want to go? It wouldn't matter.
They're still on rookie deals no matter what.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
So yeah, I'm gonna go value though. Obviously, God does.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
This bust me? How close? I'm gonna just guess it
because I want to see an its practice round. I'm
gonna say, Travis Hunter.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
I think that'll be too much. I think you're gonna bust.
But let's just see he's third overall, so big money
eleven eleven. Okay, that's like dip it drops quickly for
the rookie. So because like, let's think of what was
Golden ben that was the right So he was what
(33:21):
twentieth overall, twenty second or something like that. Yeah, I
think he's probably like in the six or seven range,
probably seven range.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
Which would have been perfect. Damn.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
Okay, apparently doesn't spell Marcus the same way I spelled Marcus.
Oh it's Matthew Golden. Marcus Golden plays for the Steelers.
Speaker 5 (33:42):
Okay, four point four.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
So yeah, so good enough.
Speaker 3 (33:46):
So that five million range is like closer to outside
the top ten. Okay, good to know.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
Yeah, he's twenty three overall, Tory dandy Okay, that's his agent.
Didn't know that. That's just for me to know. He
is a notable agent. Okay. So this is the real
round now. So let's go back to the NBA and
let's set a couple of parameters. Again, we're gonna go
(34:13):
easier to start, So let's go with Anthony Edwards, a
favorite of you and I. We'll call it forty eight
point nine. Okay, Let's see if you can get there.
In let's call it. Let's call it three people, three players.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
Sounds good and for folks listening, I think the hard
part is you want to set a number like I'm
trying to get there within three. But also if I
start listing rookies from the last few years, I could
get there in ten, you know, so only three is
also part of the challenge.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
Yeah, replayers within five.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
Million, absolutely, and my number is forty eight million, forty.
Speaker 2 (35:01):
Eight point nine, basically forty nine.
Speaker 3 (35:03):
All right, I'm gonna start with a lineman get us
in there good? Uh, one that I know from last
week when we were shifting around afterwards at Lane. Johnson's
coming in just sub thirty, which I think puts me
in an okay spot.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
Yeah, you'll be good to go. Twenty five yeah, okay,
so you have twenty three point nine remaining with two people.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
Okay, I don't want to get too crazy. Let's do
God is He, Let's do Josh Jacobs.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
Okay, I like this one.
Speaker 3 (35:47):
I'm hoping for like thirteen. This might be a little
higher than that, and that would be okay, he deserves it.
Speaker 2 (35:54):
Twelve.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
Yeah, well that's running back for you. Okay.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
So you're at eleven point nine. I said within five,
So you're trying to get you know, seven, seven to
twelve potentially right now.
Speaker 3 (36:08):
I'm trying to flex because I don't necessarily want to go.
The rookie contracts are just like so interesting because they
flex a little bit. I'd like to just pick one
out of the air that really gets me right in there.
I'm gonna playoff of what I've already said. I don't
know if I want to jump to a position I
haven't done yet without knowing what that market is. So
(36:30):
I'm knowing that Jacobs is at twelve, it makes me
want to stick in the running back game. And I
want to do who's going to be right at like
the ten million dollar mark? Who's getting paid a little
less than Jacobs? M I feel like that's an interesting question.
(36:51):
Who do I think should Who do I think the
league thinks is a little bit worse?
Speaker 2 (36:56):
Um?
Speaker 3 (36:58):
Which is kind of fun? And you're better at this
that I am. I'm also starling because I'm not good
with people's names. True, how old is Naji Harris?
Speaker 2 (37:10):
And he this is his first contract after his rookie deal.
He's on a one year deal. Yeah, Okay, I think
it's a deal.
Speaker 3 (37:21):
I'm gonna ride with it. I appreciate that hint, but
I that was where I was kind of thinking, and I,
I uh see a little high.
Speaker 2 (37:32):
No'm I might have been a little high. In July fourth,
I'm not sure if you heard the news about Naji Harris.
I'm not sure if it was a realman candlefight. We've
all had those. But a firework blew up near his
face or something and damaged his eye.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
Oh, or do I want to go Connor?
Speaker 2 (37:50):
James Connor is a good one. He's definitely several years older, obviously.
Speaker 3 (37:54):
Yeah, what's my threshold? What do I gotta get to?
What's the lowest I could get and still make.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
It seven million? Got to be above seven.
Speaker 3 (38:06):
I I'll do. James Connor. I think he's about that.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
I think this is a good one.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
I think you're gonna be Naji makes me a little
nervous for whatever reason.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
Connor nine and a half. You're good, nice?
Speaker 3 (38:20):
Good?
Speaker 2 (38:21):
Okay, you got to two point four. So if we
were playing the game in terms of what we're planning
for next season, and again, help us shape this game
to make it the best possible. The final score for
Jake in the leaderboard since you've fulfilled you know, the
challenge or whatever. His score would be two point four.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
Maybe we would do like three rounds and it gets
harder every time, and we just see what the leaderboard's at.
I'd like that. That's good. Okay, that's okay.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
Let's establish an NBA player first, and then I have
an idea.
Speaker 3 (38:57):
That's the hardest part. I don't know, because we also
discovered I did uh Nas Reid last time and discovered
how big a drop off there is in NBA players
as well.
Speaker 2 (39:10):
That's true, that's true. Let's do Let's do someone who's
getting paid a shocking amount of money. Not that he's
a bad player, but this is a rookie deal. I believe, Oh,
Franz Wagner, Wagner, whatever we want to say, forty four
point eight okay, Okay, So Jake is that forty four
(39:33):
point eight is what he needs to do. Let's again
say within five million, Let's see if you can do
it in Let's see if you can do it in
four Okay, and you have to name a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
Okay, I'm gonna save that. I've really wanted to say
this name this whole game, I just want to see
what he gets paid. I want to see what Cam
Hayward's contract is.
Speaker 2 (40:03):
Interesting. Yeah, I do not know as.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
Well veteran long term I think long term deal in
the defensive line position.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
Fourteen and a half.
Speaker 3 (40:16):
That's good enough, Okay, I think that's gonna be helpful
to me with other pieces.
Speaker 2 (40:22):
Okay, So you are at thirty point three? Is the total?
You need to name three more players, and one has
to be a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (40:31):
Okay, still thirty three. So I'm looking for like ten
k a guy. I'm gonna go way. I know this
guy is gonna get under this, and that's okay. I
want to see what Zach Brown's getting paid.
Speaker 2 (40:48):
A lot now, Yeah, Zach Bond is at seventeen.
Speaker 3 (40:57):
Okay, that's more than I thought, but not like breaking
the bank.
Speaker 2 (41:03):
Okay, So thirteen point three two players, one has to
be a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (41:09):
Thirteen point three is my remaining amount.
Speaker 2 (41:12):
Yes, that's the ceiling.
Speaker 3 (41:13):
Okay, I'm gonna talk you through it. But this is
I knew I was gonna have to do this at
some point. And this guy's coming out of here. Now,
what is Simone Biles husband's name?
Speaker 2 (41:29):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (41:30):
The safety Jonathan Owensath is ginn paid pennies to the dollar.
So let's get a cheap one in here, and I
can try and name a quarterback.
Speaker 2 (41:41):
Is he on the Bears? Where does he?
Speaker 3 (41:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (41:43):
He is on the Bears. Okay two point three? Okay,
I'll go two point three. I'll help you.
Speaker 3 (41:51):
I've still put myself in the tough boat.
Speaker 2 (41:53):
Okay. So you're at even eleven, So between six and eleven.
Speaker 3 (42:00):
So here's the deal. I'm either gonna bust this or
get it. I think I I I think I'm gonna
get a guy. If I get under this amount, I'm
gonna be within my range with quarterbacks. I think. Okay,
what's the lowest I could get?
Speaker 2 (42:15):
Six million? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (42:18):
I mean, boy, uh, this will be interesting. I'm gonna
talk through just so I'm not filling dead air. Oh
I should be smart and just go a rookie. Huh.
Well that's tougher than you think. Like if I go, yeah,
tied position, yeah, one hundred like Skyler Thompson, My boy,
(42:42):
my absolute boy probably gets paid should be paid less
than that. He was drafted late, been around Will Howard
was drafted late, and like you know, like I just
don't know if any of the guys who were like
(43:03):
like in that range, I could do. Yeah, I just
I actually don't know if I'm gonna go rookie because
I'm nervous where I'm thinking through them. But I'm just
nervous that guys like Dart are under like, I don't
know where they're at, speaking of being bad at names
with the absolute menace of my life JJ McCarthy. He
(43:24):
came to me, as I said, menace, I I you know,
I assume he's under that. But my luck he gets
paid thirty million a year because the Vikings are financial geniuses,
you know. So I'm gonna Okay. What I'm thinking through
now is the other end of things betteran. I'll be honest.
People might be yelling me that Rogers number is like here,
(43:47):
I've got no no clue. I just no idea. I
don't follow that at all. What do they pay Joe Flackout?
That's what I'm thinking through in my head. What did
they pay Joe flacko on? What do they pay Jamis Winston.
I'm thinking backup veteran. I am afraid that Daniel Jones
(44:08):
somehow is still getting paid too much. That's so I'm
nervous there.
Speaker 2 (44:14):
I will say the Colts outbid the Vikings for Daniel Jones,
who was notable how much he got paid because everyone
was like, with that contract, he's not necessarily a backup.
Speaker 3 (44:26):
Yeah, And that's what I'm saying is like a lot
of these guys, like I'm thinking through, I know from
last week that I can't go lower end starting quarterback.
And that's what I'm afraid is, Like, did they pay
Flacco like a lower end starter? I can't remember. Same
with like I don't remember the bidding process for Jamis.
I think I assume Russell Wilson's number is too high.
(44:47):
So that's what I'm thinking through. I think Malik Willis's
number is too low. I'm going through, uh, just guys
in the league as Gibbs, what's his number at I'm
going to pick a name just to put myself out
of my misery. I am gonna go with Jameis Winston.
Speaker 2 (45:06):
This is an interesting one. I think you're good, but
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (45:11):
I could be over or under.
Speaker 2 (45:13):
That is true. No, you're right, there was a little
bit of a bitting war. I think you're fine, but.
Speaker 3 (45:23):
I had another name just come to me.
Speaker 2 (45:25):
Four million.
Speaker 3 (45:27):
Dang it. Well, then my other name would have been
lower too. All of a sudden, Tyrod came screaming into
my brain.
Speaker 2 (45:34):
But wouldn't have worked. Rogers would have given you a
perfect number, I believe, of course. Oh no, you would
have been slightly above above. I remember the ten million number.
That was the guarantee it.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
I guess, okay, dang, this is a fun game. Though,
this is fun.
Speaker 2 (45:54):
I like the different I like the idea of coming
up with a different specifications, different things to do.
Speaker 3 (46:01):
I almost wonder if there could be we love a wheel.
Speaker 2 (46:05):
I think we do. I think we do something with that.
Speaker 3 (46:08):
Do we put the positions on a wheel?
Speaker 2 (46:11):
I think there's positions. Yeah, maybe there's a wheel of
wheel of positions and you have to have a player
of that position, a starting player of that position. Maybe yeah, that's.
Speaker 3 (46:24):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (46:24):
Then Jake, there's a second wheel, and the second wheel
is the modification. So either no rookies either has to
be a pro bowler has to be an all pro,
has to be all rookies, all rookies. Five all rookies
is fun? Five plus years on that same team or
something maybe.
Speaker 3 (46:44):
Yeah, that's fun. Or less than five years on the team.
It'd be fun to be like I was trying to
think of, like, could I think of guys who are
like I need one dude who's in his third year?
Speaker 2 (46:55):
Yeah, yeah, exactly. It has to be or it has
to be a first round draft pick that had at
least one thousand rushing or receiving yards before. Stuff like that.
So let's try. Let's try doing something like that. Hardest
part NBA player I know we're gonna do Devin Booker.
(47:15):
He just got since last show, I believe, just got
a new contract that is rivaling Shay Gilgas Alexander. So
Devin Booker is getting paid sixty six point six million
dollars per.
Speaker 3 (47:28):
Year, big time. Okay, let's go.
Speaker 2 (47:30):
Six six six great, nothing scary about that. So you
have to do it in let's say in in five,
so you're going a little more than ten per player.
Let's say you have to name at least one mm hmmm.
(47:54):
What's the funniest position to make you do? Because I'm
not gonna squad, I.
Speaker 3 (48:00):
Have one I want you to give me and not
because I know it, because I think it's so chaotic.
Speaker 2 (48:06):
Long snapper, Well, no, I can't name one.
Speaker 3 (48:09):
You can do it if you want.
Speaker 2 (48:11):
No, you have to name a right guard, and I
know you can do it. No, No, you can do center,
because I'm not sure if spol Trex splits some. You
gotta name a center, and you have to name at
least it doesn't have to be the center. You have
to name at least one player who has played has
(48:33):
played ten plus years in the NFL. Okay, So again,
within five million dollars, five players, one center, yeah, and
then a ten plus a decade plus veteran.
Speaker 3 (48:51):
I have no idea how much centers are paid, but
I know that Lane Johnson, who I assume is top end,
and Pennay sewell, like Penay was like twenty eight, Lane
was twenty five. So I want to go.
Speaker 2 (49:08):
Let me do something to give you maybe a little
bit of insight, and because this could be an adjustment
modification for next time.
Speaker 3 (49:16):
Please, I'm gonna do.
Speaker 2 (49:17):
Jason Kelcey, and maybe we do something towards.
Speaker 3 (49:20):
Like whoops, a little insight.
Speaker 2 (49:22):
Okay, maybe maybe we do a retired player's last contract
or something as a thing. So his last contract was fourteen,
so if we did a retired player, that's what we'd gone.
Speaker 3 (49:35):
So and I like that because one of the centers
that came to mind, and I will say not that
many did, was Landed Dickerson because they just got him
a new deal replacing Jason. So I know it's more
than that, which is good insight, but I don't think
it's like I think that as a ceiling of like
(49:58):
twenty five. Honestly, if in my head it's like twenty
one a year, and I'm okay with that. I want
I'm in between Landon Dickerson and Creed Humphrey, and I
think Creed's is pretty high. So I'm just gonna say
out loud, I want to go with the lower of
the two. So this might be wrong, but I'm gonna
(50:22):
go Landon Dickerson.
Speaker 2 (50:24):
Okay, I think you're over estimating him. I think you're fine.
Speaker 4 (50:29):
I would love if this is like a twelve. He's
not is he is he playing center? He might just
be a guard.
Speaker 3 (50:36):
Oh, Wikipedia told me he was the center.
Speaker 2 (50:39):
He might be playing center. I'll give it to you
because I can't remember what they're doing with their line
this year. He might be playing center, but he got
twenty one.
Speaker 3 (50:50):
Okay, nailed it.
Speaker 2 (50:52):
For the record, we'll call it a center I'm probably
wrong about that, I think I if.
Speaker 3 (50:57):
You want, you can force me to take Creed Humphrey.
Speaker 2 (51:00):
Uh, I mean Creed's numbers that could be higher. But yeah,
I'll of force you to take Creed Humphrey, which is
what we'll do anytime someone names a player out.
Speaker 3 (51:09):
Of position, they have to take Creed Humphrey.
Speaker 2 (51:11):
Yeah, it's the Humphrey rule. So Creed Humphrey eighteen.
Speaker 3 (51:15):
Nice, Well it was lower anyway, Yes.
Speaker 2 (51:18):
So you are, and for four more players forty eight point.
Speaker 3 (51:21):
Six okay, And now okay, so Creed has not been
in the league ten years, has he?
Speaker 2 (51:28):
No?
Speaker 3 (51:29):
Okay, So I'm keeping that in mind. But I still
got five to go. I want to go under four
to go, sorry, correct, four to go. I want to
like get a measurement, seem I'm there's a piece of
me that just wants to keep poking at different positions
(51:50):
and see, like what guys make. Um, i've elver I
can pull, i've elever I can pull. I just remember
that I randomly last week discovered that a bunch of
tight ends make around the same amount of buddy. Yes,
so I could absolutely go that route. I am going
to go that route. Let's do Hunter Henry Hunter. Henry
(52:12):
is very interesting. Okay, in my head, this is nine million.
Speaker 2 (52:20):
And he's close to a tenured player, not quite ten
yured player. Okay, nine million though, you're good.
Speaker 3 (52:25):
Okay, Um, I've got tenured you know, up the wazoo.
I've just got so many options. Slimmy tuns still in
the league. Sorry, yeah he is, he's tenured. Um, he's
(52:46):
absolutely tenured. I think I'm gonna do God, this is
so dumb, but I can't get it on my brain.
Speaker 2 (52:55):
I want my life.
Speaker 3 (52:58):
I want to know how much young way I want.
I don't want to know how much he makes. Give
it to me, give me young wiku. I want to
see you tried spell it? Also?
Speaker 2 (53:08):
Oh I know I spell a young hoku. Don't you
worry about that?
Speaker 3 (53:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (53:15):
How much does he make? He makes? Four point eight?
Speaker 3 (53:18):
Okay, good to now, So that's three guys in he's
not tenured.
Speaker 2 (53:24):
No, no, twenty seventeen.
Speaker 3 (53:28):
Getting close?
Speaker 2 (53:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (53:30):
What do I got left with? Two dudes?
Speaker 6 (53:33):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (53:33):
Two or three?
Speaker 3 (53:35):
Think of three?
Speaker 2 (53:36):
Yeah? Left? Thirty four point eight?
Speaker 3 (53:40):
Okay, Actually need to take a decent chunk of change
out of here? Do I do that with my tenured guy.
So think for a second, Jake, I'm going twenty fourteen
or older. Um, I could get real close to this
number and say, like Jared Golf, like that's over probably,
(54:05):
but like I could yeah, yeah, like a Baker Mayfield
is I know he's in the thirties, Like he's right
under here. I think I think he's at thirty two.
And then I'm like playing for a cheapie. Um, and
he's right over the ten year mark. Whoa.
Speaker 2 (54:25):
I thought it's an epic music and that wasn't very epic.
I thought it was gonna be cooler than that.
Speaker 3 (54:30):
Like it we sponsored by raid Shadow Legends.
Speaker 2 (54:33):
That's the sec. We've got nature sounds coming. Well, you think.
Speaker 3 (54:39):
That's good? Okay, I don't know if TJ. Wat's been
in the league ten years. I do not know if
he's been in the league that long. So all right,
I'm taking plenty of time. Let me let me hear
how much Pats or Tan makes.
Speaker 2 (54:59):
Watch out for that bird. Okay, Patzertan just just got paid.
I think he just got just got paid.
Speaker 3 (55:08):
I want him to get me to ten years and.
Speaker 5 (55:10):
Close he makes twenty four Has he been in the
league ten years? No, he's paying for four.
Speaker 3 (55:22):
Oh he's way good than I thought he was.
Speaker 2 (55:26):
Yeah, so ten point eight got a dam a ten
plus year vet. Watch over that bird. Don't get ship
on by that bird. I can't get out of your bed. Yeah,
give me. This is a throwback to what we did.
Uh Luke used to stream outside for some reason, and
(55:49):
there was always one bird that would like attack him.
Speaker 3 (55:55):
I forgot. Those are some of my favorite ones to
watch back. That's very very good. Okay, ten point eight,
older guy, I want to go. Is there a running back?
Is there a wide receiver? I'm naming all the positions now,
I guess.
Speaker 2 (56:13):
But it can't be a veteran men because that's too little.
Speaker 3 (56:16):
Yeah, I know. I was thinking of the tight end
who was in uh Miami forever, but I think he
makes too little. Dallas Clark, how much.
Speaker 2 (56:28):
Dallas Clark's been out of the league for a long time.
Speaker 3 (56:33):
Dallas? Is there a different Dallas?
Speaker 2 (56:36):
Uh Dallas Goddard.
Speaker 3 (56:38):
Yeah, that's real tight d That's tough, you know, Yeah,
thank you? Uh ten point eight, Tyrod? How much do
you make? Um? But I I can be within how many?
Speaker 2 (56:58):
Within five? So you gotta get at least six point
eight or sorry, five point eight.
Speaker 3 (57:04):
Five point eight? Let me see how much Russell Wilson's making.
Speaker 2 (57:10):
I honestly have no idea. So this is interesting. Okay,
you for sure have the ten.
Speaker 3 (57:15):
Year Yeah, class twenty twelve, go Badgers.
Speaker 2 (57:21):
Russell Wilson makes bum bum bum. Oh he has got
his Yankee deal on here too. Okay, Russell Wilson for
the Resiants, right, take that instead ten and a half?
Speaker 1 (57:33):
Boom?
Speaker 2 (57:34):
Wait, that is as no, you got it? You need
a ten point eight. You gotta score a point three. Wow.
Speaker 3 (57:42):
I had a moment where I was like, wait, wait
was the number ten point two? So sorry that I
ruined the anti conective boom.
Speaker 2 (57:49):
Oh, yes, it's huge. We'll play some uh cinematic music
for that, which is gonna be great. I am sure,
and it is coming. Now. That's not cinematic. This is
like a bad club music, like jazz club. Not like.
Speaker 3 (58:11):
It's really bad club music.
Speaker 2 (58:13):
Terrible club music. All of it is terrible club music.
That's good. Do we go out on that? Because that
was as good as you can get.
Speaker 3 (58:21):
I think I could play the game forever, but I
do think that's as good as I'm going to get it.
Speaker 2 (58:25):
Zero point three ten and a half for Russell Wilson
and then what did we say? Jamis made not much?
Speaker 3 (58:32):
No four points something?
Speaker 2 (58:34):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (58:35):
He was low for me.
Speaker 2 (58:38):
Yeah, this is good. This is a good game. It's
a great game. I would love first off, and I
can't stress this enough. Please help us with the name.
I think that's everything needs a good name. If has
a good name, it's going to be successful.
Speaker 3 (58:53):
Contract chase is what I have in my contract chase
because it's like the chase or what we do exactly
if we're playing with contracts.
Speaker 2 (59:00):
Yep, Patrick chases is bad, that's true. Yes, give us
a lot of those and give us different like specifications
or like different like what I don't know the correct word,
but you know the different adjusters that we can add
to the wheel for people to do. And let us
know who you want to see. No name's too big,
(59:23):
Rock come play? Yeah, any of them. But that was
where my mind was. Yeah, first name basis anybody, Uh,
let us know, probably like sports and fantasy football people
for the most part. But if not, if there's some
athletes you want to get on here, you know what,
we'll call JJ watt up.
Speaker 3 (59:41):
Why not JJ come in? I almost named. I wanted
to say TJ every round. I got nervous every time.
Speaker 2 (59:50):
We know who we need to get the unsung hero
Derek Watt. Yeah, one hundred percent, he would ace this.
He's got that new dad energy. He He's going to
be incredible.
Speaker 3 (01:00:02):
I would you know, what I think is a fun specifier.
What I think for like if we did in rounds
round three would be funny. If you like the wheel
was years and you had to yell out one guy's
contract in that year.
Speaker 2 (01:00:21):
Oh, that's interesting because you have.
Speaker 3 (01:00:25):
To know they played and to have any idea, like
my main my money. I was just like, how much
did Vernon Davis make it? Twenty twelve? I feel like
he's all over it. You know it's true.
Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
Oh yes, so it's just a single year contract, not
just like average. Gotcha?
Speaker 3 (01:00:43):
Yeah? How much was his yearly contract that year? Yeah,
so let's let's see. Okay, why not? Okay, give me
a second to make sure Bernon Davis played at twenty twelve.
I'd like to change it twenty ten. I'd like to
make sure he was in the league.
Speaker 2 (01:00:58):
That's fine, Vernon Davis twenty ten.
Speaker 3 (01:01:01):
In my brain, this is nine million.
Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
He played in twenty twelve anyway, but I can log in.
I think I have the premium of this. But bom. Okay,
let's try this again. If spow track doesn't give this
to us, and spot track just needs to sponsor this game,
what do we talk about? Okay, Burnon Davis twenty ten
(01:01:25):
was avoided year did he not play at all?
Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
Oh? Wow?
Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
Here he We'll just go by cap hit. I think
that makes the most sense. Seven point eight twenty twelve
would have been six point eight because.
Speaker 3 (01:01:38):
Now you're dealing with inflation. We'd have to you know,
we'll decide. I don't know if the wheel needs to
go back more than ten.
Speaker 2 (01:01:43):
Years, but never know, ever know. I mean, we could
do we can do anything, like what did fucking Bubba did?
We got Bubba Franks's deal on.
Speaker 3 (01:01:53):
Here two thousand and three made four million dollars.
Speaker 2 (01:01:59):
Ah, we got his career earnings. Maybe we don't got
a yearly thing? Does it give me his uh? Doesn't?
Nothing works for Bubba Frings? What are you doing here?
Speaker 3 (01:02:09):
Whoop? They're just happy they have a profile up for him.
Speaker 2 (01:02:13):
That is true. I don't like that as jets, even
though that's accurate. That's the last name you played for
he's a packer. What are we doing.
Speaker 3 (01:02:22):
Let's try this one time. I want you to have
a guesshead. I've got spot track up over here. Give
me twenty fifteen, ten years ago. Give me a guy
who made between ten and fifteen million.
Speaker 2 (01:02:34):
Dollars between ten and fifteen.
Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
My five million dollar range, Derrick Henry.
Speaker 2 (01:02:46):
Ooh, I might be too low.
Speaker 3 (01:02:48):
Actually, I probably because.
Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
Riocky deal.
Speaker 3 (01:03:00):
Breakdown. I want different years.
Speaker 2 (01:03:04):
Oh, you might not be able to see it without
a premium.
Speaker 3 (01:03:06):
Oh, his first year in the league twenty sixteen.
Speaker 2 (01:03:10):
Oh set, okay, let's go with twenty fifteen. You said, right?
Speaker 3 (01:03:16):
Yeah? Oh is that right? Though? Dude, his rookie contract
is gross? What do you think his nothing? It's one
point three? One point.
Speaker 2 (01:03:30):
I should say on the top right now?
Speaker 3 (01:03:32):
Oh great, thank you? Round two forty fifth.
Speaker 2 (01:03:38):
Overall, that would have been a different CBA I guess too,
which would have been a lot less.
Speaker 3 (01:03:44):
Wow, that's fair good to know.
Speaker 2 (01:03:46):
Okay, Okay, So between how much did like Reggie Wayne
make that year? Probably not a ton.
Speaker 3 (01:03:54):
I think that's a really good guess.
Speaker 2 (01:04:00):
Because it would have been after Oh maybe it would
have been still his big deal.
Speaker 3 (01:04:04):
This game really does make you want to guess cults though,
doesn't it?
Speaker 2 (01:04:08):
It does, it absolutely does.
Speaker 3 (01:04:10):
Twenty fifteen is a little late for Reggie. That is
his last year in the league. So he's making two
point three.
Speaker 2 (01:04:18):
Deal. That's a bargain. Good for him, good for him.
Speaker 3 (01:04:23):
So this is hard. This is why this is our
round three. That's true possible modifier.
Speaker 2 (01:04:28):
Well do we just do this basic format? Is the
last round? Is it like a rapid you have to
name something quickly?
Speaker 3 (01:04:38):
Thing? I like that. I like that.
Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
That always gets fun like you have to I don't
even know.
Speaker 3 (01:04:44):
Man, that is tough because my number would have been
low to I wanted to go to Ralph Suggsrell Suggs.
Speaker 2 (01:04:51):
Bad year for bad year for contracts? Is there a
way to this is a theF air thing I was
gonna say. Is there a way to add a asked
money family feud element to the game? That's as good
as it gets. We all know that.
Speaker 3 (01:05:07):
I actually can I tell you right off the top
of my dowm But yes, we just do over under
over under.
Speaker 2 (01:05:14):
That's card sharks, isn't it.
Speaker 3 (01:05:16):
Yeah? But I mean, you know, fast money.
Speaker 2 (01:05:20):
Fast true true. That's interesting, Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:05:25):
Zach let's close on this. We got to close with
something a little different. I want you to close. We
were at the fair this week.
Speaker 2 (01:05:31):
We were we were a lot of Yes. Go to
the Let's Go Wisconsin YouTube TikTok or Facebook you can
see a video floor Rider in the grandstand, or you
can see a video of Foreigner fucking belting out, you know,
one of their three lead singers.
Speaker 3 (01:05:50):
Yeah. By the way, Foreigner, do you think every band
does that? Forwarder revealed that every twenty years they just
find a guy who sounds like the other guy.
Speaker 2 (01:05:58):
He sounded great though, he was good.
Speaker 3 (01:06:01):
Sounded awesome. But do you think I really want to know, like,
do they have someone join the band and like you've
got five years to sound like Jeff or like or
they found him like how Journey was Like, turns out
the guy who sounds just like Steve Perry, right, Yeah,
that's a Filipino man.
Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
That one. They had to just found him.
Speaker 3 (01:06:20):
I don't they found They did like a search and
they found out this Filipino guy sounds just like a dude.
Speaker 2 (01:06:28):
That's insane. That's that's ridiculous. That one made no sense.
This one. Yeah, I don't know. He's been in the
band five years and all of a sudden, now he's
taking over lead singing. He's just been playing guitar, Like
did they just hear him like singing in his dressing
room or something like, oh my god, listen to this.
Speaker 3 (01:06:46):
I could have seen him seeking them out, like hey,
I kind of sound like you, and they're like, well
you can shred so in the wings. You know, he's
been the Miners for five years.
Speaker 2 (01:06:55):
True, true, I don't. I don't know, but that's a
good strategy to take if you're a band and you're
trying to, you know, inch towards retirement.
Speaker 3 (01:07:06):
Here any highlights from the food you ate at the fair.
Speaker 2 (01:07:11):
I did have the Intimidator, which was a I mean,
without exaggerating, maybe a sixteen inch sausage. Yeah, pretty and
being as delicious it was. And they give you a
sticker that says like I survived the Intimidator or something
it was. It was a great thing. I didn't eat
(01:07:32):
that much fair food, though, I gotta sell I didn't do.
I mean, I had a like I had a bond me,
but it was a bond me. It was good.
Speaker 3 (01:07:40):
I had a poke a ble. Yeah. I kind of
ran into some of the same stuff. I had a
very good burger from the Food sand, some malts, the classics,
and then I so this is going to sound good
to people, so I'll say it. It's just been at
the fair. Awhile I started with the Kurd taco and
it was delicious.
Speaker 2 (01:08:00):
They're very hard, They're good. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:08:01):
Yeah, I always like it because it to me is
a good deal because you get two tacos that are
deep fried tortillas filled with cheese curds usually meat of
your choice, sauce, and some lettuce. Sure, pretty much, but
you get two of them, and you can get different
kinds for fourteen bucks, so listen, not cheap. But you're
(01:08:22):
at the Fair and the chicken bacon ranch one is awesome.
Yes that Yeah, it's some very good fried rice to
your point. Otherwise, I think the Korean corn dog was
the most adventurous thing I had to bite of, and
that was very good.
Speaker 2 (01:08:39):
Okay, Lindsay had that too, but like we get those
all the time down all the time. But it was good.
I mean, we've gotten from that place their actual restaurant before, correct.
Speaker 3 (01:08:49):
So yeah, I had a bucket of cookies. Those are good.
I heard someone say that the one place had and
I heard it too late. I was like, that would
have been awesome to split someone from the giant Turkey
laid place got their flaming hot cheeto chili cheese fries.
Speaker 2 (01:09:11):
Oh that'd be good. I thought you were. Didn't say
they had gator because I've been I was talking in
occasion accent the entire time. Oh the gator. I heard
they get some gata.
Speaker 3 (01:09:26):
So people's electric, dude. I heard the gator was very good?
Speaker 2 (01:09:33):
Was it? Okay? They ran out of gator? And I
just said, just go get some more, Like, what are
we doing? Just go find some?
Speaker 3 (01:09:40):
Yeah, you know what. I will give a highlight to
something I don't know if I've had this in recent years.
This is an oldie, but a giddy. The four eh
stand makes fucking breakfast croissant sandwiches.
Speaker 2 (01:09:51):
They were always great.
Speaker 3 (01:09:52):
Mine slap this year.
Speaker 2 (01:09:54):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:09:55):
I don't know if distance makes the heart grow fonder,
but it was everything I needed this year.
Speaker 2 (01:10:02):
We should go out on this because, for whatever reason,
this is a point of contention in the Flurry Sports Company.
I suppose what's you Maybe we'll do a full tier list,
but what's your ideal bread for a breakfast sandwich.
Speaker 3 (01:10:17):
Oh god, Okay. First off, I'd like to state that
I'm sure Luke has a crazy opinion about this.
Speaker 2 (01:10:23):
I think not. I don't. I can't remember what Luke's
opinion is. Because your enemy Trevor had an opinion that
pissed me off. So he's the one I'm taking gay bat.
Speaker 3 (01:10:34):
Se fiest personal round.
Speaker 6 (01:10:38):
Trevor.
Speaker 3 (01:10:38):
By the way, I don't donate the player, hate the game.
Speaker 2 (01:10:41):
It's just you know, yeah, it's rug place for rock
time for Trevor. Such just showed up in Jake's dream.
Speaker 3 (01:10:49):
So you asked me what the proper kind of bread
for a breakfast sandwich is?
Speaker 2 (01:10:52):
Yeah, what's your ideal? Like, if you are saying you're gang,
I mean maybe it depends on the toppings or whatever.
But if you're getting sausage, egg, and cheese, what are
you putting that on.
Speaker 3 (01:11:03):
I love a bagel. I love a bagel, and I
like a bagel sandwich. But if it's gonna be bread,
which I know is what you're going for, I love.
Speaker 2 (01:11:11):
I think that's an option, though, I think bagel is
one of the options.
Speaker 3 (01:11:15):
That's what I get. That's my McDonald's order. I get
the sausage bagel. I do like a like a big
toast a sour dough.
Speaker 2 (01:11:24):
Okay, okay, you you've taken a route that no one's taken,
so I'm.
Speaker 3 (01:11:30):
Okay, Yeah what did what did other people say?
Speaker 2 (01:11:34):
I mean, I'm a croissant guy. I'm saying like, oh,
I don't like, dislike any of them except for one.
One's bad. One is like, I don't want that if
I can help that.
Speaker 3 (01:11:46):
Croissan croissants are good. Croissants are good every time. Yeah,
my usual beef with a croissant breakfast sandwich is for
whatever reason, I equate that with you're about to put
scrambled eggs on my bread the sandwich, and I do not.
I don't want scrambled eggs anywhere near my breakfast. Sure,
maybe it's a controversial opinion for a different time, but
(01:12:08):
fry that, bad boy, and I'll you know, I greet.
Speaker 2 (01:12:12):
I prefer a fried egg, but I'm not gonna if
it's scrambled. I'm not upset.
Speaker 3 (01:12:16):
MM learn how to cook an egg.
Speaker 2 (01:12:20):
Trevor's no, No, that's fine. I'm not toddler. You scrambling
your eggs. If you're you need to know how to
fry it egg.
Speaker 3 (01:12:28):
This is something clear that I get it because she
loves the scrambled egg. And I said I did too
before I learned how to fry one. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:12:34):
Exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:12:35):
I've done it too when I've accidentally flipped it too fast.
Speaker 2 (01:12:38):
Yeah, that's that's the last resort. It's like I fucked
up and I got scrambled the egg.
Speaker 3 (01:12:42):
No, I got scrambled the egg.
Speaker 2 (01:12:43):
Yeah, one hundred percent. That's that's one hundred percent true.
If I cracked the yolk when I put it in
the pan, it's like fuck. Okay, okay though, yeah, okay,
Trevor's right. You chose to scramble an egg, Okay. Trevor's opinion.
By the way, a soft scrambled egg. This is like
a Gordon Ramsey thing. And this is gonna tie into
(01:13:04):
my points. An English thing, grow up, that's gross. I
don't want an egg paste. That's gross. Trevor likes English muffins.
He not just likes. He says it's like the only
way to go. He loves an English but he'll seek
out an English muffin. We won the war. In seventeen
seventy six, George Washington searched out all these losers. And also,
(01:13:29):
by the way, side note, maybe we should have talked
about this at the start of the show. You know,
beans on toast bad, bad, bad, but they're like, no, no,
you gotta get the specific kind of beans. It's like
this teal, gross ass fucking color of Heinz like your
cup maybe a little bit right there, a little darker
actually of Heinz. Bean's I got him. So I'm like, okay,
(01:13:51):
we're gonna make some proper fucking British beans on toast.
And it is those beans are fucking vile. In This
is if you've never had them, Jake, this is exactly
what it tastes like, Jake beans. Put them in a
bowl here, open up a can of Campbell's tomato soup
and dump it in. That's it and that's not an exaggeration.
(01:14:13):
That is the flavor. And they put that on toast
and then they don't brush their teeth at all, and
they chew some gravel and they soak a tea bag
in their lips like that's what they do. It's so
gross and all British food's bad. Why are we seeking
out an English muffin? They're not good. We know they're
not good.
Speaker 3 (01:14:33):
That's bad. I I'm trying to think of if that's
like that now I'm trying to think of other examples
of it. But I'm trying to think if that's the
worst version of like, can you pass me a muffin?
Someone hands you an English muffin? Is that? Like? Is
that the worst version of that? You know.
Speaker 2 (01:14:50):
What's the worst muffin?
Speaker 6 (01:14:52):
No?
Speaker 3 (01:14:53):
I think the contender. The reverse version of that is
if you say, can I have some fries in? Someone
hands you American fries, just like fucking chopped up potatoes.
I'm also I think that Okay, sorry before I leave
that point. The classic version of that for folks playing
along at home, Hey, do you want a cookie? Sure thing?
You hit me a fucking raisin cookie. Fist up, dude,
(01:15:16):
tell me it's raisin. I don't hate it, but if
you announce cookie blank.
Speaker 2 (01:15:21):
I do like the Russian roulette that a raisin cookie
kind of has, though, where it's like, is this chocolate
chip or is a raise? I like the mind games
a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:15:29):
Yeah, that's if you get oatmeal chocolate chip cookie.
Speaker 2 (01:15:32):
By the way, those are rare. What what a what
a treat?
Speaker 3 (01:15:36):
What a treat? We've hit the lotto. Here's my thing.
I actually think my choice of breakfast sandwich is enlightening
to Trevor's choice because I think English muffin choice for
breakfast sandwich bad worse when you consider if you're not
gonna eat it with bread, eat it with a fucking bagel. Dude.
Speaker 2 (01:15:52):
Yeah, I agree. If I want bad, like, just take
if I got the English buffin like sandwich, I'm taking
the English muffin off. They'll eat it with a fork.
I don't eat it. The only way it's okay somewhat
sometimes and I'll suck it up and it's still not
good is the Mick muffin.
Speaker 3 (01:16:13):
And that's what he's thinking of. That's gotta be what
he's sing. I didn't even know.
Speaker 2 (01:16:19):
They had him.
Speaker 3 (01:16:21):
Yeah, so he loves the scrambled egg sandwich on top
of it.
Speaker 2 (01:16:24):
That's diabolical, guaranteed, guaranteed, that's his. He's never had an
egg prepared any other way.
Speaker 3 (01:16:31):
You may be funnier than me, Trevor, but you can't
fucking cook hn egg dude.
Speaker 2 (01:16:34):
Yeah, this is the bad. This is the bad. Who
didn't even know cream, cheese and bagels were associated until
last year and that's not a joke. They're on the
packaging pictures of each other. He thought that was gross.
He thought that was weird. He puts Jake, I know
you've got a lot of bagels in your home at
(01:16:55):
the moment. He just put butter on his fucking out
his bagel. What is o? You think he's funnier than you.
Speaker 3 (01:17:03):
That's pretty funny. That is pretty funny. Though. The things
you put on a bagel in order are cream, cheese,
I think, then nothing, then peanut butter.
Speaker 2 (01:17:18):
Then and I feel like the breakfast sandwich stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:17:23):
Oh yeah, I put that. Okay, Avocado's good, Avocado's good,
cream cheese, breakfast stoppings, avocado, nothing, peanut butter, eat something
else then butter, just butter on.
Speaker 2 (01:17:39):
It is crazy, weird. I don't know this for a fact,
but I can only imagine it's a plant bagel.
Speaker 3 (01:17:47):
That's what I was gonna say. I've I've danced with
the devil a couple of times, been like I'm just
gonna eat this blueberry b begel plane.
Speaker 2 (01:17:54):
Sure, fresh out the fridge, nice and cold. I've been
there and it's sad and you're like, I know I
made a mistake. I know it's a bad decision, but I'm.
Speaker 3 (01:18:05):
Yeah, let's go better than better than dipping it into
the world's hardest cream cheese. Yes, but you know, like, okay,
well it's gonna take forever for this to though. Just go.
Never if I sat there and spread butter on a bagel.
Speaker 2 (01:18:20):
No, why why why would I do that?
Speaker 3 (01:18:23):
That's ah, Trevor. That is also who buys English muffins anymore?
Speaker 2 (01:18:32):
I don't know. I don't know where they are at
the grocery store. Do they sell them there or is there?
Is that true? I don't know. Do you have to
go to a special store? Is it in the international aisle?
I don't know where those are located. I would never
get them. I would be ashamed if I was. If
I ran into somebody in the grocery store and I
(01:18:54):
had English muffins in my grocery cart, how embarrassing would
you feel?
Speaker 3 (01:18:58):
That's terrible, really embarrassed. And then they asked what it
does for? And you go for my sandwiches?
Speaker 2 (01:19:05):
No, I'd be like, I my tables a little bit
and I need to put something underneath the leg.
Speaker 3 (01:19:13):
The Queen's visiting, like what do you I mean, what
do you need? Him for that is that's a wild opinion.
What's what's Luke's opinion on breakfast? That's crazy?
Speaker 2 (01:19:24):
He doesn't like eggs. Yeah, he also says he doesn't
like maple.
Speaker 3 (01:19:31):
What is doesn't like he's got a crazy Perkins opinion.
Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
Oh, he said he can't call yourself a bakery if
you don't have bagels. That's what it is.
Speaker 3 (01:19:40):
That's what it is. I was like, Luke scott one,
I just can't remember it there it is.
Speaker 2 (01:19:45):
That's because he witted to Perkins and Lacrosse. And the
more he tells the story, the more aggressive he gets.
I think. So I can only assume he badgered them hungover.
He was hungover, so I'm sure he was in. It
was very short, you know, like, what do you meat?
It'll get bagels, you know. It's like a just take
a mammoth muffin, sir, they're delicious as well.
Speaker 3 (01:20:05):
Edie's like, take down your side, yes, Baker, ye, I'm
taking that with me with my mammoth muffin.
Speaker 2 (01:20:14):
Right, mammonth muffins. Great. When's the last time you set
foot in the Perkins. It's been in a decade plus
for me, But I feel like I need to re
up that.
Speaker 3 (01:20:24):
Uh, Dad asked us to go there for Father's Day,
not this year, but last that was his request.
Speaker 2 (01:20:30):
Do I still do all you can eat pancakes after
like a certain time?
Speaker 3 (01:20:33):
Yeah, hell yeah, that's good. And I've told this before,
but the best, the best compensation package I ever got
was at Steven's Point. I was able to spend my
money at local restaurants, most of which were fast food.
One of them was Perkins, so I'd go that was
That's almost five years ago now, but I uh, I
would go that beat the late night destination or early
(01:20:56):
morning and just go munch on a chicken tender mount.
Speaker 2 (01:21:01):
Yeah in Superior. That was one of the places where
you can get like a student discount or whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:21:05):
Yeah, maturing is realizing. Most of the way I've gained
is from that one year of noodles and co. Like
you can't eat tordalini that.
Speaker 2 (01:21:15):
Much, no, no, but if you get the zoodles, it
doesn't matter what saucy put on it, or cheese or
anything else.
Speaker 3 (01:21:24):
But I'm here to tell you I didn't get the
zoodles for real weeks where I would go multiple times
a day like no, and it's my like it's my
compensated money, like already there, like this is part of
(01:21:45):
my pay plan of these fucking Tortolini's. That and the
Buffalo wild wings was covered. Have I told that story?
This is fun to go off on the show. So yeah,
they gave it dog dollars, you know, go dogs, but
they give it to you. In the year, I was
lead and they were getting rid of it because the
only people who used it were the housing folks. And sincerely,
(01:22:06):
it was awesome because the main thing I used it
for is you could use it at grocery stores, so
that was awesome. So it was like my.
Speaker 2 (01:22:14):
Way you did it. It sounds like not a ton I.
Speaker 3 (01:22:17):
You know, why cook when you can get toward a
leini it, you know, noodlesn'coup. So but I I got
to the end, and you know, I'm a cheap date.
I was single at the time, so I was not
going through my money very fast. I got to the
end of the year, the meal plans going away. I
have to spend my money and I've got two hundred
(01:22:37):
dollars left. So I invite every friend I know in
Point I had people coming in from town and I
was like, hey, I'm taking it out to Buffalo Wild Wings.
Hell yeah, dinners on me. So we go out tax
exempt baby. You know we're out there, we're having a
good time. Whatever. I the meal total, because we had
(01:23:01):
like ten people there comes out to like one hundred
and ninety seven dollars. Like we do good. We're right there.
We're playing the contract chase. You know, we're right under.
This is perfect, this is out little these dog dollars.
I give them, I give them my card. I am
trying to get rid of this money. You know, I
give them my card. They take it away. I can
(01:23:21):
see them kind of struggling with it. I'm like waiting
for them to come back. I'm like, I'm sure they'll
have questions about it, because no one ever fucking uses
this stuff. So they come back and I'm like all good,
and they're like, yep, good to good your cover. I'm like,
oh great. I look at the check. It says mountd
zero dollars and I was like, okay, that sounds that
and I look a little up and it says discount
(01:23:43):
one and amount total zero dollars. Total do zero dollars.
And I was like, hey, I'm just double checking because
I've got a. I'm like, I'm spending on my account,
so it's all good. I was like, it says zero,
but that that just means you took it out of
the account, right, and like that's what's left in the
Like no, like you had some special discount, like it
(01:24:04):
said you're a university. So we put the discount in
and then it was free, and I was like what what?
I was like. I was like, wait, wait, like I'm
a crazy person because I'm trying to get them to
count like like charge me, you know, like I'm trying
to get rid of it. I was like, what do
you mean it's one hundred percent discount? And they're like,
(01:24:24):
we typed it in. We couldn't figure it out. We
pressed the reset button and then it was gone and
you paid zero dollars. And I was like, okay, but
I'm trying to get rid of it. Can you see
and check? And they checked and my cards still the
same amount of money on it. So I was like
and they're like, sir, it's just the school discount. And
I was like, there's no way has a hundred discount.
Speaker 2 (01:24:48):
That's did you stay? At that point, you just gotta
what the hell?
Speaker 3 (01:24:53):
I was really afraid that they were gonna find out
and then charge me extra. So we got one more
order of drinks, of course, and you know, I was like,
in the hindsight, I'd like to add to this bill.
But it was also it was the vibe of like
the waiter was like, are you going to like use
this card more? I was like no, this is like
my last week here. They're like, we're good, it's called
(01:25:16):
even So I was like, okay, trust sure, we'll call
it there. It'll be zero bucks. But I was haggling
for them to charge me. I was like, please, like,
wind this money about. I have to fill out paperwork
saying I don't want this money set back to be now.
But yeah, I just can't. I can't believe. They were like, yeah,
it's the we think we figured it out. It's just
the pointer discount. No, man, yeah there's no But I
(01:25:41):
was like, what a discount? One hundred percent discount?
Speaker 2 (01:25:44):
You are the first person to go in there and
try it.
Speaker 3 (01:25:47):
For sure, for sure, which I had run into. That
was the most annoying thing with that card was everywhere
I went, no one knew how to use it. That's
why they got rid of it. Like no student opted
to use it. And there's like six hall directors who
most of which go to the grocery store. I'm the
only one going to the chain restaurants listed.
Speaker 2 (01:26:06):
You got one hundred percent off of the grocery store too.
Speaker 3 (01:26:10):
No, if anything, the grocery store always fucked that up.
The grocery store always the employees never understood it was taxis.
They'd have to run it three times because I'm like,
you can't, you can't chart to me tax that. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:26:23):
Well, Wild Wings gave me two hundred dollars worth of
wings for free.
Speaker 3 (01:26:27):
You don't understand. I just schooled discount. This shouldn't cost
me any money. Do you know who I am?
Speaker 2 (01:26:34):
I run a student hall, sir.
Speaker 3 (01:26:37):
I don't think you know the sort I run Roach Hall.
Speaker 2 (01:26:40):
Yeah, you know Roach Hall, the one with the crabs.
That's me.
Speaker 3 (01:26:47):
Perhaps you know me from the Crab and the bedbug epidemics.
It's up.
Speaker 2 (01:26:52):
Yeah, but that means you can't give me tax so
don't do that. Yeah, but you just crab walked out
of the luck side to side out of there.
Speaker 3 (01:27:03):
Ask your coworker, she knows, you know, Yes, Yeah, that's right.
Word spread well like crabs.
Speaker 2 (01:27:09):
Just like crabs and you know, also spreading like crabs,
spread the word of the Florid Sports podcast.
