Speaker 1 (00:02):
Steve, my good man, How the devil? Are you a
very good buddy?

Speaker 2 (00:06):
How are you?

Speaker 1 (00:08):
I'm very good, my friend, I'm very good. The I'd
like to tell you the sun is shining and the
weather's beautiful. But no, it's been fifty mile an hour
winds for the last day or two, so things are
falling off rooftops, trees are coming down, and I got
seasick while lying in bed in the caravan last night.
But other than that, it's all been golden. Were you

(00:28):
at sea or something? I mean rocking in the wind?
The wind, the caravan was rocking, and not for the
right reasons.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Damn, were you holding on for dear life like a
petrified sailor.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Well, I did have to get up at one point
in the night and get all the valuable electronics and
just put them all in a bag under a load
of cushions and jumpers because things kept falling out of cupboards.
So I was like, something's going to smash my laptop
at some point, and that's going to that's pretty violent.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
That's rocking, well exactly. We'll tell everyone it was rocking
for the reasons and yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Yeah, honestly, wild night, wild what happens on sky? Is
that is on sky? Exactly? What was your weekend anyway?

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Yeah, it's good, buddy, I can't remember what we did?

Speaker 1 (01:18):
What do we do?

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Enzo had a football presentation?

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Oh yes, it was award's day, Awards.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Day for the young players of Madrat FCS. They all
had a fantastic day down there, nice.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
And came home with a trophy for the trophy cabinet.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Yeah, another one. They all get a participation in trophy.
Some get the usual players, players, goals, score.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
All that stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
But yeah, yeah, that was pretty pretty sedate mate this weekend.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
But still good.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
It's nice to have a little children every now and again.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Or just painting.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
But I haven't quite painted the ceiling yet.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Not painting your painting in the house, I am. I've
painted one wall. I feel his achievement. That's fair. You
looked across the wall and that the same wall the
coat rack fellow off the other day.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Yes, okay, the coat rack is now back up with
less coats on it. Everyone's strict orders one coat only,
not seven.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
And that's it. Have you know I've just got a
pile of coats on the table as well.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Then yeah, yeah, waiting to be re honed by myself.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Apparently. I see, you just need another set of hooks, mate,
that's gonna have to be what you do. You're just
gonna need a line of hooks across that wall.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Yeah, it's gonna be like a school cloakroom wall exactly.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Forty be good, and then you could just name everyone's hooks.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Literally.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
So we have a four tiershoe rack down here. This
is going to be a massive tangent, right, four tiershoe rack.
There's four people in this house. How many pairs of
shoes do I have on this four tiershoe rack?

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Well, I know a lot of your shoes hang out
on the floor, so I don't. I don't know how
many of them have made it onto the shoe rack.
So I'm gonna say two pairs I have none. I
have none.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
I have mine hanging out on the floor because there's
no room on the shoe wreck.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Classic. That's that's the joy of a four person household, Steve.
There's a lot of stuff to be storing in places.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Yeah, I know where I stand in the high rocket
of things.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Don't worry the floor, yeah, yeah, the space arguably, if
there's space for shoes on the floor, mate, that's the
easiest place. You just slip them on, get on with
your day.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Literally, literally you don't have to stop.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Just on speed go exactly. That's it. You don't have
to stop, Like you just walk into them and just carry.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
The laces and they're like slip on. I like Batman, I.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Like to think you're a bit like. Was it David
Blaine who could tie his shoes just by swinging his
foot around? And like he just developed a technique where
he could just move his foot and swing it about
and the laces would tie, and he'd be teaching people
how to do it. This wasn't just some mad trick
that he could.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
That's pretty mental. No, I'm not that skilled yet.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Okay, give it time.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Yeah, I'd probably smack myself in the face of something.
But anyway, massive tangent, massive ones.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Indeed. So see, we have gottor GP race coming up.
We very soon.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
We have Aragon this weekend, buddy.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
I'm looking forward. I'm looking forward to it. So I
remember last years Aragon race being pretty good, so I'm
hopeful that this will be more the same. And you know,
we've come off the back of two really banging races,
so I'm optimistic for this one.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Trouble is, after two built in races, you know for
but with ship kind of ship weather, we're overdue a
dry race. Arragon's good, but we've had two very dramatic races.
So the risk is Aragon is going to have to
really hype us. Oh it could risk be a bit mundane,
but for all the wrong reasons. Yes, So we need

(04:57):
to go into this with a clear slate, open mind.
This is not going to be a standard sort of
run of the mill follow on race.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
No, this isn't going to be silver Stone and lam On,
is it. This is in theory you will have no rain,
although Oragon can be a bit dirty and a bit
slippy and slidy. Yeah, we will see.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
In order to go, what is today Tuesday?

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Tuesdays? We're recording yet.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Tuesday, so you not long to go. We'll see be
do it?

Speaker 1 (05:22):
No quite so, Steve, there's a few things to cover
in the news and then we will dive into what
we're looking for and make our predictions and talk a
little bit about the Fantasy League. Let's go for it, buddy. Excellent.
So I'm Tim, he's Steve, and this is for The
Love of Moto GP. If you are new to the show, welcome,

(05:57):
and if you are returning, Welcome back. This is for
the Love of Moto GP, the show where Steve and
I sit down with a couple of beers and talk
about Moto GP like we would in the hub. Steve
is the designated driver again this week.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
He's scaring the shit out of myself at the minute.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
He's got a new headphone mike set up and it's
much louder in his ears than in the past, picking
up everything.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
I'm not really like, well, I am liking. It is
very very good, but it makes you realize just how
loud you are, and that's quite scary. I'll tell you
you'll have to hear it as well through the mic
through the headphones, but we'll all be able to.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Hear it together. Steve. It's a real treat for us all,
but it is.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
It's a treat for the ears. I'm so used to
being like and move this mic around and not hear it,
but now I'm just like, WHOA. If I do anything,
it's like, WHOA, I'm loud.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
If you're just to hear the noise that you're making.
Though I think sometimes.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Yeah, yeah, I literally just picked a drink up as
like it's a big bengoing off.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
God, it does sound a bit like a gong, as
if it brings.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Up the there is Yeah, pretty loud.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Yeah. I don't know if you've got that, but there
we are.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
Any who, yeah, who we got that?

Speaker 1 (07:17):
So yes, anyway, I'm on the Tenants tonight. Steve is
on the Orange Squash.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
I am squash in a corona glass. I was always
to try and fool.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
Myself nice, so as per usual, pretending we're in the
pub even though we are. I don't know how many
miles apart on the road, six hundred miles or something
like that.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
I think, so yeah, you know, I don't know how
far apart we are a fair way, but anyway, with
some distance away, I can't run to you.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
No, it would be quite a mission. It would be
quite a mission. So Steve, before we dive into the
show proper, we do have a correction corner.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
We do, buddy, Yeah, only for the second time I
believe this year we do have one.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
We do, and you know what that means.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
I do Timbo cue that jingle correction cornner.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
So this week's correction corner Now, to be fair, this
isn't the most motorcycle related to correction corner we've ever had,
but I was really looking for an excuse to use
the jingle. So this week's one comes from Richie in
the I think it was in the Facebook chat. Yeah,
and this was in relation to our comments about navigation

(08:36):
and using maps and SAT labs that long tangent we
went off in last week's show. Yes, and one of us,
I think it might have been me or you or
we both said, or someone said, someone agreed, whatever, it
doesn't matter that there was no more following maps and
things or road signs in the driving tests in the UK.
We said it was all SAT and a driving, but

(08:56):
Richie pointed out that the independent driving section of you
driving tests can either be SAT NOB or following road signs.
So we were slightly wrong about that.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Yes we were, Yeah, but we got corrected. We got corrected,
and that's what that is it, that's what it's all about.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Exactly. So yes, thank you Richie, thank you for putting
that out. And as everyone else listening can can cast
us say, see here we don't just need MORTGIP related
corrections here, we will correct ourselves on anything. We are
humble human beings and we are willing to admit when
we were wrong, are we.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Sometimes sometimes Yeah, it depends what it is.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
It depends if there's like an election or something coming up,
and then absolutely not.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
But otherwise yes, oh yeah, otherwise we'll take it all. Yeah, politics,
let's not do politics, and my god, that sh it's poring.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
All quite exciting depending where you come from. I don't
dislike h I love election night, mate. I will stay
up and watch election results come in for more than
just the UK. I watch him for multiple countries. So
if they've gone all night election special going on, then
I'm here for it.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
The only time I'm staying up all night to watch it.
If I know, guys, get the gunpowder in there, mate,
and I'm watching.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Well, okay, there's there's us on a list straight away.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Yep, we're being watched.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Well yeah, we'll We'll all done our Viva Vendetta masks,
put on our Hugo weaving voice and we will be
marching on the streets of London.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Yes, I'm going for there.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Excellent anyway, Steve, before we do get ourselves into any trouble,
let's dive into motor GP news. Shall we let's go
for it, buddy, good stuff. So first up, we've got
some some bad news. To be fair, there's no other
way of describing it right now. And this is Luca
Marine's injury.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Yes, yeah, he had a biggie, a big off.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Yes he did. Indeed, Marini got seriously hurt last week
while testing behind a fire blade in Japan for potential
inclusion in the SUK. Eight hours. He had a huge crash,
resulting in a quote, a dessicated left hip, damage to
the ligaments in his left knee, fractures in his sternham
and left collar bone, and a right sided pneumothorax collapsed

(11:20):
lung a similar injury to what jem My team got
in Katar.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Yeah, that's a big list we've seen, you know, all right,
He's got a couple of breaks, a desiccated hip, it's
a huge one. Mate, that's nasty damage to the ligaments
in his left knee.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
I'm not surprised quite The force involved in dissliccating a
hip is going to do more damage than just popping
about a joint.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Yeah, the guy's going to be out for a while,
so I don't know. Yeah, mate, Lock yourself away on
a nice bath and get there soon, buddy, and stay
away from fireblades.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
Maybe yes, quite or mears fire blade not even start.
The motor gps went in Bangkok and then one of
them tries to kill Luke Marini. He was quickly moved
to a hospital near the circuit and stabilized and it's
said to be in a good condition now, thankfully, But
at the time of writing, all the time of recording,
he is still unable to fly due to the lung injury.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Yeah, bless him. That's a big, big list of injuries.
So you know, rest up, my man, and we'll see
you back, maybe in twenty twenty seven.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
Well, that's the thing, isn't it, Because it's going to
be a long time before he's going to be fit again,
judging by how long Martin's been off the bike with
a similar injury, albeit probably an injury that wasn't quite
a severe, or an injury list that wasn't quite a severe,
and Martin's been away for a while, like I think,
I'm certain we're not going to see Marini back until

(12:49):
the start of the summer break or until after the
summer break. I think we'll at the end of the month. Yeah,
I think Austria and mid August is going to be
my bet for Marini's return, which is kind of after
the main summer break and then there's another weird, weird
little monk after like yeah, yeah, there's a mini break. God.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
No, the most important thing is to let these injuries heal,
especially like the fractures to the sternam because that's how
big old area and that needs a lot of well,
any of these injuries, he's got a big I just
take as much time as you need to get over
this ship and come back stronger, as strong as possible.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Yeah, yeah, exactly, And they really like, I mean, none
of this is good news. But what the rule down
on this is is Marini wasn't even confirmed to be
riding in the hour, unlike Zarko. Zarko is riding in
the eight hour, and so as miller Hill contests the
race with Yamaha. Zako won the race last year for Honda.
But this was just a test to see whether Marini

(13:50):
would be competitive and comfortable on the bike, given he's
so much taller than the rest of the three rider
team and they have to share the same bike for
the race. So it's not like he can ergonomically set
a bike up for him. It has to be shared
with everyone. So this was just to see if he
could even possibly perform for long enough on a bike
that is potentially quite uncomfortable. And yeah, it's so brutal.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Yeah, that is harsh when you're only out there doing this.
But it's happened. So for now we wis get well,
you know, heel up wherever you are, get home, and
then we'll see you back when you're fit enough.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Yeah, exactly. And that's kind of a step, isn't it.
He's got to get home and he kind of the
main step here. Yeah. It's had a fucking long way
from Japan to Italy, so that's not just a flight
from Katata, Spain. That's a lot wrong way. That is
very true. Bless him. He'll be alright, he'll get back, Yeah,
I'm sure, and I'm sure Honda will be a footing

(14:45):
the bill for a nice private jet to get him
home when he is able to fly. Exactly. He'll be fine, Yeah,
quite so. Next up on the news then, Steve. Now,
this is a bit of long ee. I've realized how
many notes I've written about this and this is the
Joge Martine update.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Yes, yeah, so he made a social media slash sort
of many pressure release, if you will, end of last
week's start of this week, wasn't it, I think?

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Yeah, yes exactly. And I've got the kind of most
of the statement written down here, and I've kind of
got it written down in chunks and then put my
thoughts in italics as you can see next to each
of the chunks here. So I'm kind of going to
go through these and give my thoughts on it, and
we can just back and forth our thoughts and feelings
about this, because I feel like there's a lot of

(15:41):
factual information about this event and a lot of it
we don't know, and there's a lot of thoughts and
feelings coming from everyone. Everyone's got an opinion about this.
So yeah, we'll take some time to break it down
and have a chat about it.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Yep, we can certainly do that. I was to bring
up the full thing in front of me. Yeah, we
can have a little gander at it, break it down.
There are bits that on no account, because I was
doing a post, ah, I put that to one side.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
Yeah, right, we'll go with your notes. Yeah, we'll go
with them. A lot of it's copy and pasted, so
all of the stuff that's in quotes here is from there,
not press release, but from his social media post. Yes,
and I'm sure everyone listening, but for anyone who doesn't,
this is about Joge Martin wanting to leave a Prillier
midway through this contract at the end of this year.

(16:30):
And there's kind of been some back and forth over well,
through the media really between Joe Martin and are Prillier themselves.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
Yeah, yeah, so far all communication has kind of gone
via not a third by, but through a mediator, if
you will. So this has kind of been the first
full bore strike from the horses map.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Yeah, exactly. So let's start here, then, Joe Martin said,
faced a quote. Faced with the situation having to make
a decision on a date that is established by contract,
I have decided to exercise my right to release myself
for the twenty twenty sixth season. Now my thoughts here, sorry,

(17:13):
end quote. My thoughts here are by the letter of
the law, if this release clause exists in the contract,
the currently is able to be activated, then by the
letter of the law, this seems fair enough, but it
does leave a bit of a bad taste in the mouth.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Yeah, yeah, I'm completely with you on that one. If
there's always going to be out in all contracts, and
if this is one that's written into his, and that's
absolutely fair enough, he's within his rights to evoke that.
But it kind of I don't know, it does leave
a bit of taste in my mouth, cause I just think, although, yeah,
all right, for good reason that he wants to get

(17:53):
out all the injuries, bad luck if he will on
the bike, it just doesn't feel like he's had enough
of a goat And I do think it's kind.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
Of just a cop out. Yeah, yeah, I agree, That's
exactly how I feel. So Martine goes on to say, quote, Unfortunately,
the circumstances that have occurred as a result of the crashes,
although it's true that they do not affect what we
agreed have conditioned this phase end quote. Now that suggests

(18:27):
to me this is kind of a prillier's fault for
not ensuring injuries were covered by the contract. And what
we think is the clause that's being allowed here is
that Juege Martin is not in a high enough championship
position right now to guarantee that he will stay with
a Prillier. If he had been like third in the championship,

(18:47):
whatever chances are he would have to contract actually stay.
He's not in that position right now, mainly, well mainly
because he's not there, but also even if he was,
I don't think he would be The A Prilia doesn't
look like it's capable of being there. I don't know
what that championship psition is. It to be thirty, it
could be fifth, it could be top ten. We don't
actually know. It's all speculation.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
Yeah, this is exactly what it seems like to me.
You know, they're going to have team objectives, goals per season.
You know this year you're going to have to meet
this all right, he's been injured. There's no way in
hell he was going to meet these things.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
So yeah, well.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
There's no way now he's going to be able to
catch up. So the only way it seems to me
is to release himself.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
Yes, well that doesn't seem to be the only way.
It seems to be the decision he's taken because he
doesn't actually want to ride that bike, able to go
somewhere else, but he's found a useful out here. Yes
he does. He goes on to say, quote, that is
why I've always been open to a dialogue with a
Prilla to extend this period to a certain number of
Grand Prix after my return to competition. The aim is

(19:53):
that both parties can give each other a second chance
and feel comfortable before making a decision for twenty twenty six.
End quote. Now this bit alone makes me ask whether
Aprillia are refusing to allow him this concession, whether they're
they are saying no, no, we need to know now
whether you will be on the bike in twenty twenty six,

(20:13):
either guarantee it now and we lock it in, or
you don't, but we're not giving you another six races
from when you actually come back.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
Yeah, that's exactly what it sounds like to me. They
want to have a guarantee for next year, and it
sounds like they're more almost more than willing to keep
him for next year, but they want to know on
his part what he wants to do. Obviously there's going
to be doubts from his way. This bike is probably
scared shit out of him so far, and rightfully so.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
Look at the injuries are sustained at his hands.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
Yeah, quite but obviously longevity going forward, they need to
commit to know what the hell they're doing. So yeah,
it's kind of a mixed bag for both one what's out.
One wants at stay, one wants commitments, one wants freedom.
It's it just seems like a whirl, a swirl of
all everything that I just don't want.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
Yes, quite, it seems to me this bit that you know,
if a prettier felt really confident in their machine, then
you think they'd be like, yeah, of course, come back,
do six races and if you score x percentage of
points of the championship leaders or whoever else, then you

(21:28):
have to stay. If not, then I guess you've got
to pack your bags and go. And obviously you're prettier
don't want six races before the end of the year.
Once everyone is signed up, then exactly they won't be
able to sign anyone. So they want to know now.
But it does seem like there is a single room

(21:49):
here and they could do something. But we don't know
whether Martine is saying, look, you want me to be
fifth in the championship whatever, I'll come back in six
races and try and do that. If I can't that,
I'm out. If I can do that then I'll stay.
But he may well know that that's actually impossible for
him to come back and in six races score enough
points to get up to the championship position that would

(22:11):
require him to stay.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
Yeah, I guess for him at the minute, his capabilities
on that bike are completely unknown because he hasn't ridden
it fully at Strengths in Anger for any length of time.
A brilliant want.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
Of guarantees.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
That he's going to deliver what they want, you know,
fifth in the championship standings, whatever for the first year,
third whatever, he knows if he comes back.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
There's no guarantees. He doesn't know what he's capable of.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
So it's two the boats stuck between a rock and
a hard place, and I think the only way they
can get through it is for both to go yep,
we're committed or knowing part ways. I don't think there's
any kind of medium in here.

Speaker 1 (22:59):
Yeah, it's just a weird situation.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
It's an awkward situation for both parties.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
I think, yeah, quite, But it feels like only one
party could not make it awkward, and that seems to
be Away Martin. He seems to be the one that's
making it awkward.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
It does a little bit, but then I think a
brilliant as well. They could extend like that grace period, and.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
So we don't know they do that. We whether they
have said, yeah, okay, we can extend it, but only
on these conditions, and he's gone, no, I'm not good
at those conditions. Yeah, those conditions, if they've happened, could
be fair enough. We don't have enough information, Prillia of
being keeped very very tight lipped about this.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't hear some
more in Aragon this weekend. But at the minute, we've
got a one side of story and we're putting full
judgment on that, and that's never.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
The right way quite. Martin then goes on to say, quote,
at no time have I ever breached the contract. When
I signed it, I agreed with the Prillier that if
certain circumstances were not met, I reserve the right to
decide my future for twenty twenty six end. Quote. It
kind of just feels more and more like a Prillier
fuck to contract up. They didn't write anything based on

(24:07):
injuries into this contract, and probably because it was a
rush job. We know that kind of Martine got told
you're not having a Ducati deal, and then he just
went knocked on a Prillia's door and signed a deal
and that was job done. They had maybe forty eight
hours together this deal done, so we know it was
quite a rush job, but it seems like it was
a Prillier not making the contract air tight enough for themselves.
They kind of left some loopholes in here that Martine

(24:30):
is able to get through. And it's kind of a
shame because the Prettier went from you know, it was
only I don't know six seven years ago where we
were like, fucking are Prillier, what are they doing with
their riders in these contract situations? They're just monsters? What
the fuck are they playing at? And then they kind
of we got this run of Elaicia Sparko and crushing

(24:51):
it and we kind of got on the A Prillia
hype train for a little while. And now it feels
like their legal department is again has let it slip
a little.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
I think they've probably still got the same legal department.
It certainly feels that way. You know, we saw some
very bad situations in the past, and I certainly was
very critical of my feelings about it brillier the way
they handled their riders in the past, But it feels
like the same legal team has always been there behind
the scenes. But they've just had a nice period in

(25:21):
the middle with good riders that were quite happy to
come and go or stay as they pleased and would
ebb and flow out of the team with grace.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
I guess that's easy when you're getting good results, exactly exactly.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
Suddenly they're faced with a situation where they had to
do a very rough contract to sign the current world
champion across, very very quickly, and they've seen an opportunity
to get Oh my god, we could have the number
one plate, we could have the rest in the world.
Fucking where's the legal guy? You know he's baking pizzas
at home. Fuck, let's drot something down on a post

(25:58):
it note. It does feel like a very hurried rush job,
and they have less than massive loopholes and any decent lawyer.
So Eliza is going to pull these apart and recognize
them in seconds.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
Yeah, exactly, and he Martin his manager is it Valera?
Is that his manager? His name? I think has been
very very good at getting Martine through loopholes in the past,
but I will come on to those in a moment. Yeah,
Martin continued with his statement to say, quote, this was
an essential condition for me to accept the contract proposal

(26:35):
they offered me at that time. When I made the
decision to change manufacturers last year, one of my premises
was to have the possibility to test the bike in
real circumstances and to understand the team and its working methodology.
In this way, I feel comfortable signing for two years
instead of one, and so we included that condition. And again,
on its own, this statement seems fair enough. But the

(26:58):
fact he's barely ridden the by he's not really spent
any time at the track with the team, He's not
had time to try and gel and grow with the
team and really bring them around him makes me feel
a bit gross about the entire situation. But again, if
a Prillier had written a more watertight contract, this should
be impossible given the circumstances.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
Yeah, this one really does feel like a bit of
a I don't know what's the best way for it,
a bit of a cop out and a loss.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
From both sides.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
Okay, all right, I can understand what means place says
he you know, he wants a bit of a gross
period to fit in. Make sure you're gonna gel I
get that completely. He can still do that though when
he comes back from injury, he could commit and still
have that.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
And at the same time, like you said, a Prillier
could have written something into the contract regarding injuries like
we've always said to cover this at the same time.
So this really does feel like a fuck up for
both sides.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely for their part. Right now, Prier, I
haven't released another statement, but I have referred to what
they said in Silverstone about the contract being valid and
that it must be respected until the end of twenty
twenty six. So this may well end up being a
battle between legal scholars in courts or the back rooms
for a Prillier. And I'm pretty sure it's going to
be a battle that Martine is going to come out

(28:19):
on top of because as we mentioned earlier, he's kind
of pulled this trick before when we jumping through legal loopholes,
and that was when he entered motor GP. He was
supposed to join MOTORGP with KTM for twenty twenty one,
but because of their championship position, wasn't there or wasn't
where the contracts said it had to be at a
set twenty, which was actually due to COVID and the

(28:42):
fact that there was absolutely no racing, so there was
no championship positions for anyone. Martin was able to riggle
out of the deal and join Parmacti Catti instead. Martin
and his management team have got a great skill in
writing contracts that heavily favor the twenty twenty four world champion.
And I do think, as we've said, a pretty his
legal department have a lot of shoulder, a lot of

(29:03):
blame to shoulder for this. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Yeah, Jo and his team has showing their strengths in
the past, So yeah, I think it would be very
naive of anyone who was trying to sign him to
think that's you know, that's completely okay, We've got this
covered without perhaps bringing in someone else to adjudicate things,
especially given his history and his team's history.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
So yeah, there can be no trust in what he
tells you legally water tight.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
Yeah yeah, you need a very good team as solicitors
and professionals, should we say to really close this up.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
Like a dustass?

Speaker 2 (29:45):
Should we say?

Speaker 1 (29:48):
And that's kind of going to be a problem for Martine.
I think in the future of his career. If no
one can trust him and no one could take him
on his word, then he's going to be quite limited.
And arguably right now, if he leaves a Prillier, he's
going to burn another bridge. We assume he's burned a
bridge with Ktim when he left them more refused to
go to them. We assume he burnt a bridge with

(30:10):
do Catti when he left them in a strap. We're
now assuming he's going to burn a bridge with a Prillier.
That leads him two factories left, his Yamaha and his Honda.
They seem to be the only two factories that he
hasn't burnt a bridge with. And let's face it, people
in both of those factories, if he comes onto one
of those bikes and keeps winning, then fair enough they're
going to forgive him his sins. But if he ain't performing,

(30:31):
people aren't going to have the time of day for him.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
No, no, no, no. It doesn't matter how many number
one plates you carry if you've got a reputation for
being a bit of a cop out. As soon as
things don't go your way, that's the one score against you.
And then although he may have been outfit like fruit injury,
but you're still going to get experienced rust, you know,

(30:54):
ring rust as the boxers call it. He will need
time to come back develop, you know, his riding sense again. Yeah,
some riders, they do lose an edge when they come.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
Back from a massive insury.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
So he's almost becoming a bit of an unknown. He
may have been the world champion, but so far he's
hardly ridden this year, so there's a massive question mark
hanging over him. So anyone who kind of takes him
one in the future, this is just building to his
CV of like maybe you know, it's when your mum
tells you to stay from the hot girl and you

(31:27):
sit there, going, yeah, she's really hot, but she's mental.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
You still want to go there. There's still some curiosity.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
I don't care if you get your fingers burnt, you
still got nine more, yeah, or if you're from around here, twelve.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
Yeah, exactly. There's there's plenty of digits to go around.
On the one hand, I have quite a lot of
respect for what Martine and his team for managing to
play this trick not once but twice. I think this
is very much for me once, shame on me, for
me twice. No, for me wants shame on you for
me twice shame on me. Like this does fall to

(32:09):
the fact that I think that a pretty ill legal
department cocked it up here. But at the same time,
it just doesn't feel right, like this is something about
it that just is a bit icky. I feel a
bit gross about it.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
Yeah, it does have a bit of a like a
twang to it, like it's a bit off. You know,
you pick that cheese out the back of the fridge
to give it a snifel. Is it blue cheese? I'm
not really sure.

Speaker 1 (32:34):
I do that my socks on theairly basis like can
I get away with them for another day? Oh mate?
I have three.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
Linen trows or boxes for different categories of worn the
last one that needs a wash to decide what the
other two are. The last one is don't go near
unless you're really risking it.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
But I always I could never work out what that
smell was coming out from under the Yeah, exactly, but
now I know you don't believe me.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
There's two right down.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
There, bell nice and that's that's an entire linen basket.
That's not just socks, that's full clothes.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
That's full clothes. Man. It works for everything. It's a lot.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
It's a saving money as well, saving money on.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
Real application of time. And like that one right there,
and that one's fresh last week maybe.

Speaker 1 (33:36):
Podcast and yeah quite so, onto the Martin. Back to Martin. Sorry,
it doesn't feel right, it feels gross, but this is
elite level sport and he's trying to do what he
feels is best for him and his career, much like
he did with when he left Katie empty caty and

(33:57):
to be fair, yeah that turned out pretty well.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
Yeah it did. This is elite level sport and it's ruthless.
It's much like the business world. It's ruthless at the top,
and it is all about winning at the end of
the day. These guys are here because they want that championship,
and most will.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
Do whatever it takes.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
The rare few will show ah what I kin't think
of the word now. Some will just stick with one
manufacturer for all of their career and show faith and
go through with it. Others will bounce around all over
the place trying to get that upper hand, and they
will do whatever it takes. Along that way, and like
you said, it's worked for Martin in the past, and

(34:39):
move from Katie empty Katy golden in the end.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
It took a while, but it was golden.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
It wasn't all smooth sailing, but you know, smooth seas
don't have strong sailors.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
Oh that's a nice line.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
You like that one.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
Yeah, that was good.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
I'd like to drop some wisdom every now and again.
It don't happen very you know, every now and again,
something fantastic flutters out of this little mind.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
It's interesting to see, though, the kind of online reaction
from fans of the sport. I've been reading through a
lot of comment threads. I tend not to read through
comment threads because they're usually trash, but there's been some
quite interesting conversation around this, and it seems that online
right now, most fans seem to think this is quite
an underhanded play from our team, and public opinion of

(35:28):
him seems to have dropped pretty dramatically, more dramatically than
the UK's opinion of Kirstama right now. Oh hell, we
went there.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
Yeah. So I've been keeping up with this on social
media and actually I was surprised everyone's opinion of.

Speaker 1 (35:47):
A Prillier.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
Sorry for the banging, crashing.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
I can hear it.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
I'm sure you can. Everyone's a prillian. Opinion of a
Prillia seems to have really grown over the last It
was interesting. Yeah, yeah, much like us. I think everyone's
slowly forgotten about the debacles of the past, and they've
really jumped on board with a Prillier. In the last
couple of seasons. They're very, very popular. And then on

(36:12):
top of that, they go and sign the twenty twenty
four World champion and all of a sudden, they are
the in thing everywhere that's wearing a Prillier caps. You know,
one thing I've been doing I've been keeping quiet over
the last couple of rounds is looking into the stands
when they're at races. When we're watching the races, there's
a lot of a Prillier hats and a lot of
Prellier flags. Except it's still because it's fucking empty. Lucky

(36:35):
if you saw anything in there.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
That.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
Yeah, their popularity has grown exponentially over the last couple
of seasons. You know, as suddenly, oh he's pulled this
move and he's really getting slated for it. Low key
at the minute. I think the second he announces I'm
fully off of some of these guys his loyal fans. Yes,
we'll jump shup and go with him. The all I

(37:00):
got to suddenly have a new deity stick pins in.

Speaker 1 (37:04):
Yeah, yeah, quite And actually a Prillia can this can
be handled one way or the other from a Prillier.
They could strag this out through the courts, and they
can make a really long wind of it and probably
lose because I'm quite convinced that Juge Martin, if he
thinks he's gone out, has gone out. I think he
will be leaving. That's what he wants to do. If
a Prillier dragged this out and make it hard work,

(37:26):
public opinion of them might start to shift. But they
could play an absolute blinder. I think they're going to
lose him anyway, but they could lose him in a
way that they're really the victims and the public opinion
really stays with them, because right now I think most
people feel quite sorry for a Prillier and kind of
feel like Martine is screwing them over. And they can
really play this for the long run and keep their

(37:47):
image going if they manage this in the right way.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
Yeah, yeah, I think that's completely correct. Their advisors, their
pr people are going to be all over this. Yeah,
both my teams and are Prilliers because both of them
are going to want to come out of this smelling
of roses and shining the first and.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
Only really one of the parties can is not going
to be both.

Speaker 2 (38:09):
No, no, At the end of the day, someone's got
to lose, and unfortunately one v one.

Speaker 1 (38:14):
If you know, you've got to think.

Speaker 2 (38:18):
So far Jhayes legal teams teams are a lot tighter
than a Prilliers, so there's kind of a favor favorite
emerging already if you.

Speaker 1 (38:26):
Will, well, it's a favorite to get what he wants emerging.
But I think the on the other hand, in the
court of public opinion, Prillier are the favorites and to
hold public opinion.

Speaker 2 (38:37):
Yeah, at the end of the day, he could win
this by a mile if it all went to court,
but he will lose so much in his fan base
and so much respect from the fans. I think that
his popularity.

Speaker 1 (38:48):
Will just drop.

Speaker 2 (38:49):
There will always be the die hards, but the general
public will start to slay him.

Speaker 1 (38:55):
Yes, yeah, absolutely, especially in Italy. I imagine where after
he beat the Ducati darling of pecker Bag Naga last
year and then joined an Italian brand and now might
be screwing the Italian brand over. I think potentially his
public opinion, Yeah, his public opinion in Italy is going

(39:15):
to be through the floor.

Speaker 2 (39:16):
Yes, yeah, one hundred percent.

Speaker 1 (39:19):
But I also imagine he probably doesn't actually care all
that much about his public opinion because his bank balance
is going to be doing good out of this, and
he believes he'll be getting on a more competitive machine
and he can start winning again. And maybe, you know,
if he jumps on the Honda, which all rooms appointing
to right now, he jumps on the Honda, if he
drags that back to race wins and towards the championship,
then the mujip fan base is fickle. There will be

(39:41):
some people that won't forgive him. Ever, there will be
some people that hold upah, it's Martine, But some people
will still love him.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
Yeah, mate. Some people my age still spit of Grossi
for knocking off Jubernole.

Speaker 1 (39:52):
They don't forget, they really don't forget exactly. And plenty
of people still hate Marquez for what he had potentially
did in twenty fifteen.

Speaker 2 (40:02):
So exactly, people don't forget, so no, we will say,
but to say, his bank account is he could buy
us and he's got enough mode to high and NPCs
just to follow him around.

Speaker 1 (40:15):
Exactly. It is worth noting though, that Martine was not
the Aprillier All Star Event and Mezzano last weekend. He
turned up without the intention to do any demo runs,
but did end up doing one when he saw the bikes,
the weather, the atmosphere of the event, so he went
and got some leathers fitted. He jumped on a bike,
He did some demo laps and he was signing autographs,
he was chatting with the crowd. So for his part,
and this maybe just because he legally has to, but

(40:37):
he isn't getting involved with a Prillier event still, I.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
Think this is probably caution on his part, and it's
probably part of his contract that he.

Speaker 1 (40:46):
Has to do these events.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
So while all this is still up in the air,
he's going to keep face. You know, it may only
be one event. It will do his pr good to say, oh,
you know, we're not on good terms, but I'm still
here doing my best bit for a Prillier.

Speaker 1 (41:00):
Yeah, you know, I'm.

Speaker 2 (41:02):
Pretty sure it's pr and personal based.

Speaker 1 (41:05):
But I absolutely believe that's the case. He's not doing
it for anything love for the brand, is he or
he wouldn't be leaving them exactly.

Speaker 2 (41:11):
There's no love for Aprillier there. This is contractorial.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
Yeah, it's true. And actually, to go back to your
smooth seas, don't make strong sailors. This will improve a
Prillier in their contracts negotiations, and they actually improve every
manufacturer's contracts moving forward, and we'll be looking, they'll be looking,
and actually this might end up into the factory's favor
and it might screw over riders in the future if
the factories are going to be looking at more type

(41:38):
contracts and like, we can't trust your word, we need
it in writing.

Speaker 2 (41:41):
No, No, they will all be looking. They will all
be taking note on both parts. How can we screw
over a Prillier. Don't mess with Martine because he's got
some boffing in the background that nervous want to fuck with.

Speaker 1 (41:55):
Exactly. And I guess his management team will be getting
phone called some other riders being like, I fuck knows
how you did that, but I'm willing to pay you
to do it for me too.

Speaker 2 (42:04):
Yeah, big bucks, come in your way? Tell me how?

Speaker 1 (42:07):
Yeah exactly.

Speaker 2 (42:08):
Oh oh my god, this Mike is echoy.

Speaker 1 (42:12):
Now you can hear yourself properly. It's very confusing, isn't
it very confusing?

Speaker 2 (42:16):
I keep think there's someone walking behind me. That's not
just because I'm a bit of a footstemper.

Speaker 1 (42:20):
I'm like, oh, hello, yeah, it's okay. I'll warn you
if anyone appears behind you, Steve, we'll have a he's
behind you.

Speaker 2 (42:29):
Yeah, a big face appears in the glass doors behind me, I'm.

Speaker 1 (42:32):
Off, mate, that would be terrifying, terrifying.

Speaker 2 (42:37):
Neighbors cat might appear, but that's not so terrifying. But
it's called bit.

Speaker 1 (42:41):
No, and actually that's too low for me to see.
So it's only if someone actual face height appears over
your shoulder, I'd be able to see him. Okay, Okay,
that's true. That's true. Yeah. Back to the prettier All
Star event though, Steve, and away from Y Martin. Unless
you have any final thoughts on the Jogey Martine debark
on anything you want to say on that.

Speaker 2 (43:00):
No, I just think it's fun and petty and childish,
and I just really enjoy it, you know, all this
kind of It's very playground to me. Oh, I don't
like you anymore.

Speaker 1 (43:09):
I don't want to be your friend. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (43:11):
It feels very much like that, but on a more
adult and corporate kind of way.

Speaker 1 (43:17):
And I like it.

Speaker 2 (43:18):
I like all this bullshit mainly because it doesn't involve
me and I can stay out of it.

Speaker 1 (43:24):
When people say that sport is just soap opera for men, like,
is a truth to that? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (43:29):
Yeah, it's so is that. It's such a true saying.
You know, I don't gossip about anything else, but we
get here on here on a Tuesday night, and I'm like, Tim,
have you had that?

Speaker 1 (43:41):
Yeah? Exactly, and you know the Tuesday night that you're
texting me throughout the week the rumors.

Speaker 2 (43:46):
Yeah, exactly that right, I've trapped with Michael Marlowe. Now, yeah,
exactly that all the week long. I like, Tim, Tim,
Have you heard Tim?

Speaker 1 (43:54):
Tim?

Speaker 2 (43:54):
Tim wakes up to fifty messages and it just says
Tim Tim Tim Tim Tim Tim Tim woke up.

Speaker 1 (44:00):
The amount of our text to each other that are
just have you seen the insert writing name here news
or insert writing name here? Rumors?

Speaker 2 (44:06):
Yeah? And every night and by the way, how are you?

Speaker 1 (44:09):
Yeah exactly had a good week. Have you heard this?

Speaker 2 (44:13):
Fuck you, I don't want to care about you.

Speaker 1 (44:14):
Have you heard this? Yeah? Exactly. And actually, just to
zoom out a little bit and to make this an
inclusive podcast, when I made the quote sport is just
soap operas for men, I kind of meant sport is
soap operas for people that would rather watch sport than
watch extenders. So it does include everyone, is just the
quote it's for men.

Speaker 2 (44:35):
Yeah, that is I age told saying from back in
the day.

Speaker 1 (44:41):
Exactly. I don't want to leave anyone out here. That's
the important thing. We're inclusive. Everyone is welcome, and the
wider the fan base of the sport, the better for everyone.
So everyone is welcome.

Speaker 2 (44:54):
That's spread this umbrella far and.

Speaker 1 (44:56):
Wide, exactly. So the the All Star Event, then, Steve,
there was one more notable incident that took place there,
and this was another injury at the A Prillier All
Star Event. This was for one Massimo Ravola. That's right,
the Aprillier team boss himself crashed during a Moto guosy

(45:18):
race at the All Star Event. Didn't just crash, had
a proper high sight and managed to fracture his finger
in the process.

Speaker 2 (45:28):
So it wasn't a bad injury, but it must have
been scary as fuck.

Speaker 1 (45:31):
But it must have been scary.

Speaker 2 (45:33):
That must be like no one else is getting on
a bike, but Zeki's going to come out this weekend
looking like the Mitchelly Man, wrapped in bubble wrap and
all sorts of padding and air bags have already been
put deployed. It just it just feels like a pillera
curse this year. But it's fun this one.

Speaker 1 (45:50):
I know.

Speaker 2 (45:51):
Masimo got hurt. Bless him, end of the day.

Speaker 1 (45:54):
His finger a heel, it's a broken we're allowed to
laugh about broken fire.

Speaker 2 (45:58):
I would imagine wounded at this point than than anything else.

Speaker 1 (46:04):
Yeah, in his part, he did make a bit of
a joke about it. He did afterwards. He said something
to the media like, well, you know, if you want
to understand an injured rider, sometimes you've got to get
injured riding yourself. And that was kind of with a
bit of a wink and a grin, like he knew
he was making a joke out of it, and I
appreciate that. I thought that was fun.

Speaker 2 (46:20):
Yeah, that was fun. Blessing him. I've had a busted finger.
It hurts, so rest up. Man, it's a.

Speaker 1 (46:26):
Shit thing to do because much like you know you
do a colarbone, you don't realze how much you move
your arms all the time you breathe, and that hurts.
You do a finger like, you move your fingers all
the time, and when you have it strapped up in
that way, you either have a cut like one of
those shitty plastic casts. Take two fingers together. You're like,
that's awful. It's so restricting. It's just a finger, and
it does hurt for a few days, but it's an

(46:49):
annoying injury because you're going to keep it straight for
a while.

Speaker 2 (46:52):
Yeah. I've broke my wedding ring finger years and years ago,
and that was horrid because I had the three tape
together and yeah, and I was just like a little
pincer like a crab exactly. God, that did my head
in because I predominantly I talked my hands a lot
of very sort of flammboyt with my hands, but always
picks up like ambrodexterress. I always picked something up with

(47:12):
both hands and just instinctively go to grab ah fuck.

Speaker 1 (47:17):
Exactly down. They really do hurt, they do. I snapped,
but I didn't snap the tendon. I broke my finger
aware the tendon connects to the bone, and the tendon
just pinged off and everything. So that was a bit
of a chore to try and heal that. And that
really hurt. And I mean, you know, East, even most
of the listeners, long time listeners at least, will know.
I've had some pretty severe injuries in my life thanks

(47:39):
the ridiculous things that I've done. And I still remember
how much had that hurt, even compared to some of
the other really severe injuries I've had. Like that snapped
finger was really bad. I do hurt.

Speaker 2 (47:52):
Yeah, I can remember this one for ages. So I
went to work afterwards. Try hold shit, I can't. Yeah, exactly,
like you lay down at night, you think, God, it
won't the other hand.

Speaker 1 (48:07):
And stuff like that. If it was the other hand,
it just feels like someone else is doing it.

Speaker 2 (48:10):
So that's fine teeth, Oh yeah, it just feels like
a ghostwang.

Speaker 1 (48:18):
It's unfortunate when you've got a broken finger trying to
sit on your hand to make it go nami, it's
just awful.

Speaker 2 (48:23):
You got between two cushions as well, and then he
really gets the.

Speaker 1 (48:26):
Pressure on it, so yes, massimovola himself in a high side.
Just a broken finger. I'm sure it really really hurt,
but it's something we can laugh about because it's not
going to cause any long term problems.

Speaker 2 (48:40):
No, no, I bet he's gonna have that bandaged up
to hell this weekend just to make everyone else feel bad.

Speaker 1 (48:46):
Yeah, that's fair. He's just going didn't davidate Dots. He
broke his ankle, didn't he when he crashed the mop head.
It's just a team lost thing. You've just got to
do a stupid thing riding a bike at some point.

Speaker 2 (48:56):
That's just the rule, exactly. Every now and again, you're
allowed to let yourself go. That's why do you see
like your high school teacher at the end of summer
or the start of summer absolutely leathered down the pub
because he's not got to see you for six weeks.

Speaker 1 (49:08):
Yeah exactly, and then you're like, fuck, I'm in here
at sixteen. I hope he doesn't recognize me.

Speaker 2 (49:13):
Yeah, he's buying your plans.

Speaker 1 (49:15):
You get pissed, Yeah, exactly. So more a brilliant injury
woes Steve. Let's come on to the i Agora injury update.
I Agora missed both the Sprint and the Grand Prix
at Silverstone after breaking his tibia in his right leg.
He has now had surgery for that, a couple of

(49:36):
surgeries actually he had to have for that, and he
do seem to have been successful and the Rainy Motor TWD.
Champ does plan on being back for Aragon.

Speaker 2 (49:43):
Yes, yeah, I'd love to see him back. Most important
thing is his health. That's a big break, big operation.

Speaker 1 (49:51):
So well, it was actually a very small operation. It
was all keyhole and just but yes, anything up and
around close to the knee is not good to be
fucking around. Just look at what happened happened to Frankie
morb Delli, Like the man really never recovered from that
nee trauma.

Speaker 2 (50:05):
No, no, that's true. Hey, come back this weekend, give
it a blast. If you can't do it, there's no
shaming taking another couple of weeks off at letting it. Hell,
no one's going to think any less of him. So
health is always the most important thing.

Speaker 1 (50:18):
Yeah. I kind of wonder a little bit whether a
prillier or like, please just try and come back and
just try and put in a couple of laps so
that way we haven't got to try and find a
replacement rider, because we haven't fucking got one, no one
left that.

Speaker 2 (50:31):
You can't do it.

Speaker 1 (50:32):
Fuck mama can't do it, Savagor he's already riding from Martin.

Speaker 2 (50:36):
Fuck yeah, they're in the factory. Who's got a license?

Speaker 1 (50:42):
Excellent? Come it? You got Christophe Ponson's number? Maybe?

Speaker 2 (50:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (50:47):
Who's who? Who else? Was there?

Speaker 2 (50:49):
Anyone anyone standing who's in willsup bokes for a prillier
or anyone who cares.

Speaker 1 (50:54):
I don't think I have a well super boke project anymore.

Speaker 2 (50:57):
They're not who's the Italian national champers?

Speaker 1 (51:00):
Brilliant? Is the Italian national champ? Not Piro? It might
be Actually think it's.

Speaker 2 (51:12):
Probably is on a duke for anyone brilliant, anyone at
this point, just anyone. Someone goes raging, passed down outside
the track on an r s V for him, get
him or.

Speaker 1 (51:24):
Her who cares? They're the one. I like the idea
that it could be Garrett girl Off or Cambobia, just
to get an American on there in the American team.
But yeah, yeah, it's unlikely. Now, yeah, I think it's
very unlikely.

Speaker 2 (51:37):
They might be on standby, last minute stand by. I
think we said, I said, Cambo Bia, I think you're agreed.

Speaker 1 (51:43):
Yeah, I think that would be cool.

Speaker 2 (51:44):
Give those guys a shot, one of them a shot anyway.

Speaker 1 (51:47):
Yeah, quite the last bit of news then, Steve, I
want to touch on briefly before we take quick break
and then look forward to Aragon more top rack rat
scanty glue rumors here. The latest in the top Rack
to Motor GP saga is that he will enter motor
GP next year with Pramak Yamaha. Now, I have to

(52:09):
admit I'm getting a bit bored of the top practimotor now,
but this one is being widely reported but without any
real word from either Pramac or top Rack. It all
seems to be a source closer, top pract says, and
then everyone's just reporting on that. But also this did
come from Elo at speed Week initially, he broke the
news and he's normally pretty on it. So yeah, I'm

(52:32):
feeling a bit torn as to how much I want
to believe this one or not, because I felt like
the Honda one was and now that seems to be
guaranteed not to be happening.

Speaker 2 (52:40):
So yeah, there is a seat we know at braw
Meg next year.

Speaker 1 (52:45):
But Weirdly, that's Jack Miller's seat and Miguel Lavera's the
two year contract, and I cannot see them chucking Jack Miller.

Speaker 2 (52:51):
No, I don't think it's going to have It doesn't
make sense. And it kind of feels like this rumor
is now collecting at the straws.

Speaker 1 (53:01):
Yeah, it really does.

Speaker 2 (53:03):
It feels like it's run its course, it's done its time.
Every time I see this was oh head hits and
Mike you know this effect and every one of those
soundboards I'm enjoying over here. Yeah, I think top rack

(53:23):
and someone needs to come out and.

Speaker 1 (53:24):
Just goes like for Fox take shut up. Yeah, there's
really the headlines and it like it doesn't want it.
RP likes the press. Everyone in this vision likes the press.

Speaker 2 (53:35):
Are like, this is golden, your name's out there. But
for some of us was God's sake.

Speaker 1 (53:43):
Shut up.

Speaker 2 (53:46):
But again, I guess at some point someone earning out something.
But for the time being, I wish it would just
die down a little bit.

Speaker 1 (53:53):
Yeah, yeah, that's how I feel about it. But you know,
these rumors are going to keep on rumbling until every
seat is filled for the next year, and then they
will keep on rumbling through twenty twenty seven.

Speaker 2 (54:04):
Yep, theyealy will.

Speaker 1 (54:08):
So on that. Then Steve, let's take a quick break
and then when we come back, we will have a
quick chat about Aragon, make our predictions, and talk Fantasy League.

Speaker 2 (54:17):
Right, and it sounds like a plan, Bud.

Speaker 1 (54:19):
Good stuff. So guys, bear with us for just one
moment and we will be right back with you. And

(54:43):
we are back. Thank you for being with us. The
bladders are empty. It is awful, and we are ready
to crack on with our quick preview of Aragon.

Speaker 2 (54:54):
Yeah, I have a little dive into Aragon.

Speaker 1 (54:58):
Yeah, so this is just our stand what we're looking
for over the race weekend. So first off, Steve, Mark
Marquez obviously, because we're all watching him every weekend right now,
because pretty much he's Mark Marquez and he's leading the
championship again and it's just loves him, Yeah, exactly, speaking

(55:20):
of a man who's had a great redemption story. Actually,
I think even a lot of the haters are quite
on the Mark Marquez hype train. Now everyone is.

Speaker 2 (55:26):
Everyone's on this train at the minute, even the diehard
haters like, actually this guy might.

Speaker 1 (55:31):
Be might be all right, Yeah, there's still a few
v R forty six caps kicking around who would rather
throw like tax under his tires for him. But I
think everybody is enjoying what they're seeing, Yes, exactly.

Speaker 2 (55:43):
There'll always be a few haters out there, yeah, but yeah,
there's more people coming around to this hype train, and
I think most will admit he's all right.

Speaker 1 (55:53):
Yeah, he turns out he's a pretty good motorcycle rider.
Actually he's he's good in left handers, I'll give him that.

Speaker 2 (56:01):
Yeah, just stay away from the right hand a big
windows or gravel thraps.

Speaker 1 (56:05):
Yeahs, yeah, quite so. Last year Aragon mar Marquez took
pole position, the sprint win, and the Grand Prix win.
So can he do it again this year, Steve, That's
what I'm asking, laying symbol as long as he stays
on the bike.

Speaker 2 (56:23):
As long as he stays on the bike. Last year's
race was good. He did it last year. He's got
slight well say some more competition this year? Yeah, he
probably has. I think it's perfectly cable. We've seen him
do it already. We know he likes Aarragon. It's done deel.

Speaker 1 (56:40):
Yeah, Yeah, I think as long as as long as
he can keep it roberside down. He's won everything this weekend. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (56:46):
Yeah, he's going to do the triple this weekend. I'm
pretty sure of it.

Speaker 1 (56:49):
Yeah. And how will Alex bounce back after Silverstone? Because
compared to previous years, for Alex to be fair, a
fifth place isn't all that bad the fifth place where's
go at Silverstone in the Grand Prix, But this year
is Alex Marquez. Alex Marquez Cerca twenty twenty five. A
fifth at Silverstone is nothing but a disappointment. Yes, last

(57:12):
year he finished fourth in Aragon Aragon Sprint but got
a DNF in the Grand Prix after coming together with Bagnaia.
So Alex not only has a redemption on his mind
from Silverstone, but also underfinished business from last year's Aragon race.
I'm certain we're going to see him do well, but
I'm going to be watching him really closely to see
how well.

Speaker 2 (57:30):
Yeah, I think this guy is going to be second
all through. I wanted to try and vary it up then,
but I think this is going to be a standard
market Brothers the weekend.

Speaker 1 (57:43):
That's kind of the feeling I'm getting about it as well.

Speaker 2 (57:46):
To be honest, Yeah, one too qualifying one two sprint,
one two race, I've just wish yeah.

Speaker 1 (57:53):
Yeah, although say we say a one two in qualifying,
I'm really keen to see whether the Fambriacrossarra can see
he can continue this blah blah blah blah blah blah,
continue this whole position streak that he's on. It's three
in a row now for Fabio, and he's been pulling
him out of the bag. I think this could be
the end of that streak, Aragon. I don't think he's

(58:15):
going to be able to continue it. But I didn't
think he'd have one pole position yet this year, let
alone three in a row.

Speaker 2 (58:22):
No, No, I think all good things have to come
to an end, and I feel like this could be
a very graceful way to end that streak.

Speaker 1 (58:39):
To lose out to the Marques.

Speaker 2 (58:40):
Brothers romantic way of putting it. But I think, yeah,
he's done all he can do so far. He's done
more than we ever expected on that Yamaha so far
this year, and I just I don't think there's any
show And if you can't get four in a row,
he done bloody well so far, surpassed most of our expectations.

Speaker 1 (59:04):
Yeah, yeah, I think that's fair. Quadria. This year has
just been an absolute sensation.

Speaker 2 (59:12):
Yeah, yeah, really it's been so impressed.

Speaker 1 (59:16):
Yeah, quite Interestingly, Like Silverston, Aragon has seen a run
of different winners, though in recent years not quite as
many as Silverston. But over the last five races of
Aragon we have seen five different winners. And this goes
back to twenty twenty. So last year, twenty twenty four,
we saw Mark Marquez win the Grand Prix and the Sprint.

(59:37):
Twenty twenty three there was no race at Aragon. I'd
sort of forgotten already that we missed Aragon for a year.

Speaker 2 (59:42):
Weirdly but for some reason, forgot about that until you
put the show notes out, Like fuck, yeah we.

Speaker 1 (59:48):
Did, didn't we. Yeah, we went through that moment of
them being like, no, no, there can only be like
three or four races on the Iberian Peninsula. It's going
to rotate round. We're not going to do this again.
But no, we're back to the solid five races. We
are at Porter now this year, aren't we Have I
made that up completely?

Speaker 2 (01:00:05):
Yeah we are at Port now.

Speaker 1 (01:00:07):
Yeah, okay, so we're back to the solid to five races. Actually,
are we at Porter? Now this year, sure we are, yeah,
we are. Yeah, this is the pronouncement round. So yeah,
we are back to five races on the Iberian Peninsula.
The idea of cycling through them seems to have fallen apart.
So yeah, And to be fair, like I've said many times, Steve,
I know it's the only race I've ever been to,

(01:00:28):
But if I was going to lose a race off
the calendar and from the Iberian Peninsula, will be Valencia.

Speaker 2 (01:00:32):
Yeah. Yeah, being there in experience that has slightly changed
my opinion. But still for respect for a home spectacle.
Sitting home watching it, it's not the greatest atmosphere and
being there, yeah, fantastic. But if I had to pick
one to to lose to drop from the calendar, it

(01:00:55):
would be Valencia.

Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
Yeah. Twenty twenty two then and Aeo Bassianini won the
Aragon GP, and in twenty twenty one it was Pecco Bagnaia.
And in twenty twenty we had two races at Aragon.
It was the COVID year. Alex Brins won the first
of those and the second was the terre El Grand
Prix which was won by Frankie Morgan Deli. So in

(01:01:19):
recent years it's been a Ducati stronghold. But you know
in twenty twenty it was a Yamaha as Suzuki that
won the race, So there is some form for previous manufacturers.
But I think we're going back to a Ducati win
this year. Yeah, yep, one hundred percent. The question is, though,
will this pattern continue? Will we get another new winner

(01:01:40):
or will one of the last five step up and
take victory again. I think it's fair to say my
opinion matches yours, and that is that last year's winner,
Mark Marquez is probably going to take the crown again,
but if he cocks it up, Alex Marquees is probably
in the hot seat to win the race, which means
we could see a sixth winner in a row. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
I I can't look past Marcus.

Speaker 1 (01:02:07):
I agree, I can't look past Mark, but I think
he's crashier than Alex this year. And if Mark fox,
I think Alex picks up the pieces.

Speaker 2 (01:02:14):
That is Yeah, that is food for thought.

Speaker 1 (01:02:19):
Do I want to know?

Speaker 2 (01:02:20):
I don't want to change up, sticking to my guns.

Speaker 1 (01:02:23):
Okay, well we'll come to our predictions in a minute.
I've just got one more thing I want to touch
on quickly before we get to the prediction, Steve, and
this is me looking at Maverick Vignal's very closely. Can
he return to form? He had a scintillating few races
before Silverstone, but Silverston was dogshit, to put it nicely
for him, and I don't know whether that was a

(01:02:45):
start of his regression to the mean or whether he's
going to come back swinging at Aragon. Last year he
had a DNF in the Grand Prix and the last
place finished in the Sprint, and the year before well,
twenty twenty two as there was no race in twenty
three saw a mad finish just thirty. So he doesn't
have any recent pedigree to suggest a return to form.

(01:03:06):
But much like Alex Marquez, Maverick feels like a bit
of a different rider this year. So I could see
him squeak in a top ten, maybe a top five
if he's on really good form.

Speaker 2 (01:03:18):
Oh yeah, I want to say top five. Like you said,
both he and Alex had different entities this year. Mav
has been doing some great things, so I think a
top ten has got to be the minimum main this year,
with the top five being where you'd like to be anymore.

(01:03:41):
Is Golden far fifth and to tenth. It's okay because
he is far better this year.

Speaker 1 (01:03:49):
Yeah, yeah, I think the KTM has some The KTM
does have some pedigree. I think Pedro Costa podium here
last year, and I think Binda might finish fourth in
the Grand Prix. There is a reason to suggest that
KATM have form around Aragon, so in which case MAV,
who's been jelling quite well with that bike, I could
be better than any of the other riders, could have

(01:04:12):
a chance at putting the Silverston demons behind him and
performing again.

Speaker 2 (01:04:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:04:19):
I think he can put it behind him.

Speaker 2 (01:04:21):
I really can. He looks so much better this year
and more confident on that machine. So I think Silverston
Lemon have been weird upset races not standard, so I
say not standard, no races standard, not dry, and MAV
since this year be much preferring a dry race of
a mixed conditions or full wet.

Speaker 1 (01:04:43):
I think that's true of his entire career. To be fair,
that's true.

Speaker 2 (01:04:46):
So back to a track that he likes and gets
all well with in the CASEM has a bit of
form around. I think he'll be fine this weekend.

Speaker 1 (01:04:53):
But I want to see it I want to see it. Yeah,
I want to see.

Speaker 2 (01:04:59):
It before I truly start jumping on.

Speaker 1 (01:05:02):
The hype train.

Speaker 2 (01:05:02):
But I'm kind of getting there.

Speaker 1 (01:05:04):
Yeah. Yeah, that's fair. And unless there's anything else you're
looking for, Steve, we'll move on to our predictions. No,
that's well, good races Aragon. I like Aragon, Yeah we do, Yes,
me too, And you know you always get the stunning
pictures of the wall, so it always makes for some
nice shots of riders coming through. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:05:26):
Yeah, So I'm digging out my predictions. They're actually written
down in a serious of messages to Sarah because I
had nowhere else to write them.

Speaker 1 (01:05:33):
So I'm digging back with fair enough when you dig
through them, Steve, and I will give you my Sprint
prediction and then we can do the usual. You could
be your Sprint and Grand Prix, and then I'll finish
off with my Grand Prix prediction. So my Sprint prediction,
as you will have already seen because I left it
in the show notes, is a Mark Marquez win and
Alex Marquez second and a Fabio Coaterao third.

Speaker 2 (01:05:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:06:00):
Yeah, yeah, I could jump off with that and yours.

Speaker 2 (01:06:06):
I can't look past Mark and Alex so one two
for the brothers in that order.

Speaker 1 (01:06:12):
And then Mark first, Alec second.

Speaker 2 (01:06:14):
Yeah. Yeah, third place is always the killer.

Speaker 1 (01:06:18):
For me at the minute.

Speaker 2 (01:06:19):
It's really buggy bee third place always because we have
had such a mixture of third place people. I want
to say bag Nia, but I think that's starting to slip.

Speaker 1 (01:06:35):
It feels that way sadly right now.

Speaker 2 (01:06:37):
Yeah, so I am going to jump on the back
of a mister Furman alder Gear.

Speaker 1 (01:06:44):
Nice bet, Firmin alder Gear. Okay. And for your Grand
Prix prediction, Steve, Mark and Alex one two okay. I
could have just started writing that before you spoke.

Speaker 2 (01:06:56):
Really yeah, yeah, pretty much much as I'll just copy
and post that for every ring. I don't know. I
think over the long Jeoforty and I can't feel him
that I've looked at the weather. It's going to be
pretty hot. I think mister Frankie Mordelli might have a
good GP this weekend.

Speaker 1 (01:07:12):
Nice okay, Frankie morbid DELI, that's a good bet. I
didn't really think about him at all. My Grand Prex prediction, Steve,
is exactly the same as your Sprint prediction. I'm going
for a mar Mark as winning, Alex Marquez second and
Albaga third. Like it. I think femin maybe won the

(01:07:33):
race here last year in Motor two, potentially made up.

Speaker 2 (01:07:37):
I believe he did.

Speaker 1 (01:07:38):
I'll be pretty tough with my memory if he did.
I haven't got the results up on that. I will
have in just one moment. They are loading. I'm scrolling.
Where did he even finish the championship? Finish fifth in
the championship. No, he did not win the race in Aragon.
He retired, So don't know. I made that up completely.

(01:08:02):
The winner of that race was one Jake Dixon. In fact,
of course it was bloody hell. Yes, yeah, one of
his two race wins of twenty twenty four. But yes,
I'm sticking with him. I'm going with it. Mar markeuz Ax,
Markez Firm, Mint Aldeger Fair Good picks. I like it.

(01:08:24):
And speaking of picks, Steve, let's dive in to the
Fantasy League show.

Speaker 2 (01:08:29):
Yeah, I'll just dray to log in as we go.
It's not letting me again.

Speaker 1 (01:08:33):
That's frustrating. Where are you in the championship right now? See?

Speaker 2 (01:08:37):
I think it may have come up one place.

Speaker 1 (01:08:38):
I'm in there we go thirty six. I've got that here.

Speaker 2 (01:08:43):
I just don't seem to be moving. I'm stagnant.

Speaker 1 (01:08:46):
Yeah, you're still in thirty sixth place, one hundred No,
one hundred and thirty six points. You've still got two
boosts left, Steve, I have.

Speaker 2 (01:08:54):
I need to chuck one on this weekend and that
will hopefully jazz me up a load of places.

Speaker 1 (01:09:01):
Fingers crossed. I am currently eighteenth. Yeah, one thousand and
one hundred and seventy one point five points, so not
actually all that many points between us at all. Everyone
is still pretty close. So one good weekend can jump
you off a lot of spots. One bad weekends can
drop you down a lot of spots.

Speaker 2 (01:09:22):
Very true.

Speaker 1 (01:09:24):
The top ten Steve in the Fantasy League looks like this,
In fact, tenth and eleventh or on exactly the same
number of points here, So that's real craastic racing. In
eleventh and midy in tenth, both from Great Britain, then
just zero point five points clear of them. In ninth

(01:09:46):
place from Great Britain is big P. Great name, that's
what I used to call Prince Philip Big P. Eighth
place from Canada then is race Box, and seventh from
the USA, with the most American name is Team punk
ass Racing.

Speaker 2 (01:10:04):
Yes, we love a good American name. I even spelt
like a punk.

Speaker 1 (01:10:10):
Earth punk ass Racing. We've been busy watching NASCAR or something,
but the looks of the name. Sixth place from Great
Britain is G five OD and fifth, also from Great
Britain is Crumper's fourth place from Great Britain once again
TVR forty six. And then we hit the top three, Steve,

(01:10:34):
and the gap from tenth to third right now is
less than thirty points, so close, really really tight. But
third place from Canada with one two hundred and forty
two points is Specoli twenty twenty one, just ahead of them,
or a little gap here actually at this point a

(01:10:55):
twenty four point five point gap up to Jason J
from Australia on one thousand, two hundred and sixty six
point five points, and then leading the way with a
thirty eight point margin is Kebab Spider from Great Britain
with one thousand, three hundred and four point five points.

(01:11:19):
Every time I hear the name Kebab Spider, I can't
help but thinking of a giant spider on one of
those don a Kebab wheels yeah, not rotary thing.

Speaker 2 (01:11:26):
Yeah, I always forget visions of walking at the local
kababi and they're trying to murder this massive spider.

Speaker 1 (01:11:33):
You know, you really step give me a leg. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:11:37):
Literally, it's like a king crab. It's not a spider,
exactly king crab in there. Yeah, bless you, Kebab spider.

Speaker 1 (01:11:49):
Kebab spider. Great name, well played.

Speaker 2 (01:11:51):
Name, well played. Make yourself known. They're quite fantastic. I
absolutely love it, thank you all. Interestingly, one thing to
note is the entire top ten there's only five boosts
left between them.

Speaker 1 (01:12:08):
Oh that's a really good point. Yeah, it's it's pretty close. Yeah,
there's and there's not a boost down until fifth place Crumpers,
so yeah, Midi there and Real Jurassic Racing actually, who
are on exactly the same number of points in ten
eleventh have got two boosts each, so there's a couple
of bombs available there, go out to nervous Pooh in

(01:12:28):
thirteenth two boosts. Yeah, Moto in seventeenth has got two.

Speaker 2 (01:12:34):
Yeh. Whether I did notice as well? Fourth to third
is only two point.

Speaker 1 (01:12:41):
Five points, Yes, it is. It's very close.

Speaker 2 (01:12:46):
Yeah, then there's what twenty four points between third and second,
and then thirty eight points between the second and four.
It's all fairly closed. There's a few little gaps open
up the top of the rest could go from like
ten places with thirty points a good weekend, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:13:04):
Yeah, a good boost or just a good finish and
some people around you have bad finishes, then yeah, you
can really climb up at the moment, which is quite good.
It feels like it's quite a close Fantasy League season
this year. It does.

Speaker 2 (01:13:15):
Yeah, I think it's just because like everyone jumped on
the same team pretty much straight away, and whoever shot
out the blocks with those first strategic boosts have kind
of held that.

Speaker 1 (01:13:26):
Yeah, exactly. I unfortunately have boosted Mark Marquez every time
he's crashed, so I've decided not to keep boosting mart
Marquez for now. But yeah, some people timed it well
early on and boosted him in those early races where
he just won everything.

Speaker 2 (01:13:39):
Yeah, yes, yeah I didn't. I waited and still got
two left, So I'm going to strategic.

Speaker 1 (01:13:47):
Yeah, that's sensible. I'm just holding on to see what
happens with my last one.

Speaker 2 (01:13:51):
Don't blame me, don't blame me at all.

Speaker 1 (01:13:54):
That then, Steve unless you have anything else to add
forces at the end of the.

Speaker 2 (01:13:57):
Show, nobody. I just think we're all looking forward to
rag on this weekend. It's a fantastic weekend of racing
and let's all enjoy it. And if your friends come
around who don't like the racing, dragging me and give
him a beer and make him watch. And if they
don't like it, slap them on the way out and
check out.

Speaker 1 (01:14:13):
Yeah, exactly, and remember not to invite them around for
the next one.
