U.S. Secret Service dismantles imminent telecommunications threat in New York tristate area

about movies. The US Secret Service dismantles an eminent telecommunications
threat to the New York's Tricet state area. The protective
intelligence investigation led to the discovery of more than three
hundred colocated SIM servers and one hundred thousand SIM cards
across multiple sites. In addition to carrying out anonymous telephonic threats,

the devices can be used to conduct a wide range
of telecommunication attacks, therefore disabling cell phone towers, enabling denial
of services attacks, and facilitating anonymous, encrypted communication between potential
thread actors. While forensic examination of the devices is ongoing,
early analysis indicates cellular communications between nation state thread actors

and individuals that are known to federal law enforcement. The
potential for disruptions to the country's cellul communication posed by
the network of devices cannot be overstated. The devices were
concentrated within thirty five miles of the Global Meeting of
the UN now underway in New York City. Given the timing,
location and potential for significant disruption to New York telecommunications

posed by the devices, the agency moved quickly to disrupt
the network. The Secret Service Advanced Threat into Intradiction Unit,
a new section of the agency dedicated to disrupting the
most significant and eminent threats to our protectees, is conducting
the investigation. Currently, it's an ongoing investigation by the Secret Service.
