(00:00):
I'd say that's a good intro.Oh my god, I literally wasn't recording.
Are you kidding me? I've brokeeverything. Well, I'm sorry,
I'm garbage. I've ruined everything.Oh no, we didn't clap. I
was confused. Intro Take two, intro take too. I don't even have
the willpower to go on now,I'm broken. You wanted chaos if you
(00:23):
had the chaos on chaos? Thisis this is true. Kids. I
don't want to do it. Idon't want to do it. What do
you say? Fine? You thinkit was going fine until somebody If I
(00:45):
told you this, you literally saidyou were recording though I know, but
then we I didn't want to haveextra stuff in the way. No,
we want extra stuff. I've beenrecording for the last six minutes and thirty
six seconds. I mean I've beenrecording. Okay, that's good looking at
you for someone I'm staring right.Sorry, it's okay, you're recording now.
(01:11):
No, it's not okay. Clap. I'm gonna clap when we do,
like the actual No, don't clap. We're gonna clap, but not
now you're leading. Greetings and welcometo our show, Fresh Geek context.
(02:13):
It is here we discuss incifle viewson a routine, bi weekly basis,
over the incredibly nerdy things we can'tstop talking about. To take you on
this dorky ride, are your hostJosh it me and myself, Jason.
Why don't you take a seat,Sit back, relax. We're here to
do all the heavy lifting. Itis about to get nerdy. This is
episode one hundred. We've done ahundred of these things we've done and well
we've done way more than a hundredbecause we keep splitting it into parts.
(02:36):
But yes, we have finally doneofficially one hundred full episodes. Yes,
triple digits. Let's go. Thisis going to be fantastic. And guess
what, jas what's that? Iwanted to have a party. However,
we have to do this whole youknow, social distancing. Today we can't
have people everywhere. Yeah, soI thought, why don't we just wrap
(03:00):
up some of our you know, old friends from the podcast. We could
do that and right away we havereturning guests two episodes in a row.
Jimmy, Hello, Jimmy, howare you hello there? I'm doing great.
I hope everyone's doing awesome. I'mexcited for episode one hundred, especially
everything that this entails. I'll tryand not bring too much chaos to the
(03:22):
party, but no promises. Wewant all the chaos. That is what
episodes one hundred is about. Ohwell, that cast exactly. And then
we have our second returning guest. Is this I think this is the most
that we brought somebody back? Orare they now tied for the person being
brought back? I think tied. They're tied. Okay, so we have
(03:46):
Alyssa Rockaback. Hello, Alyssa Howie. I promise to bring all the chaos.
I don't know why we brought youback, but you know you're here.
I don't know why either, Ijust you know. I say words,
they sing songs, scream chaotic things. Who knows true, it's going
to be a time. That's twopieces of chaos right now. This is
a recipe for disaster. Well, that's right. We are in the same
(04:10):
house. Did you literally just forgetthat we lived together. It's been a
long day. I'm in an isolatedroom. I'm tired. I'm tired.
We're talking about we're bringing the chaosfor episode one hundred. You know what,
I think this is the fantastic Thisis the I feel like this is
a summary of what twenty twenty andtwenty twenty one is like. This has
(04:34):
just been a chaotic year. Episodeone hundred titled Chaos FDC Podcast. Let's
go listen. I'm down with thattitle. Actually, you're welcome, so
speaking of yes, this is episodeone. Thank you. This is episode
one hundred, So thank you bothfor being on here. Jason, this
(04:56):
has been a long journey for us. Yeah. Man, we started into
twenty sixteen, twenty sixteen. We'vebeen doing this for a while. Now,
what have you enjoyed it? Like? Do you want to do this
more? Like what I mean,if we watched terrible movies that's debatable,
but for the summary of it,I will say that I have really enjoyed
(05:17):
it. I remember the night thatwe talked about you know, it was
like a fluke where we said likewe should start a podcast, not never
knowing what really entailed. It wasMay of twenty twelve when that actually happened.
I'll never forget it because I mean, we talked literally for hours about
(05:39):
a movie we just watched. Wejust saw we're not going to bring it
up right now because we're not goingto make this just bring it up,
because I mean, you already knowwhat it is. Just bring it up.
Fine, it was Marvel's Avengers.I'm just saying it was. Thank
you. Every single episode we mentionedMarvel and this episode is no different.
So no, you know, it'staken a little bit of a wild for
(06:00):
us to commit to it, andI think when we were discussing it,
it didn't really take that long forus to kind of commit and then jump
to a platform and get everything together. But yeah, I was right before
Doctor Strange, and there was alot of things that we kind of had
(06:23):
to figure out along the way.But I admire the consistency, and I
admire how much you've grown as aas a podcaster, as an editor,
you know, ideas, and justgrowing the podcast as a whole. I
mean, inteval very important part ofthis whole thing. So I'm glad to
have done it with you. Thanks. I mean, yeah, I feel
(06:46):
the exact same way. And inall honestly, the podcast has brought a
lot of good things. I mean, we were we were friends before the
podcast. We've become even better friends, I feel because of this. And
then, you know, honestly, along the way, so you became a
friend because of this podcast. Ifit was not for this podcast, I
honestly don't think we ever would havecrossed paths. The same thing with you,
Jimmy. It's so wild. Yeah, it's insane, like just one
(07:12):
decision because I remember specifically where Iwas when I texted you, Jason.
I was sitting at my friend's houseand I was you know, we were
just chilling watching TV. And thenI just texted you and I was like,
what if we actually start this podcast? Like what if we just do
this? And you were down withit? And then we got the ball
rolling, and here we are, like four years later, now we're still
(07:32):
doing it right, And if itwasn't for that moment, that none of
this would be happening, which isinsane to me, Like just one simple
decision, one simple text message toyou, could have just changed everything.
Yeah, it's it's like completely insane. But I'm happy that we continue that,
I'm happy that we're here, happythat I'm here with all you know,
(07:55):
all four of us spent text week. I like how much we've grown
and that time. Right, there'scertain things that you know, we've wanted
to do, some things we haveto scale back on and we've had to
kind of balance our lives in themidst of this. This is not something
that we do full time, butyou know, we are committed and we're
(08:16):
eager to see where this goes.So no, definitely, Um and yeah,
and what I was gonna say waslisten, Jimmy, like you're both
friends of the podcast. Now,Um, you've listened to some of the
episodes. I'm sure. Um,you have like any like anything you want
to say to us, like sidesthat we're the greatest in the world and
all that, you know, besidesthat very generous if you know. It
(08:37):
really just only that you're the greatestin the world. That's it. Okay,
I'm not being paid to say that, thank you, not at all.
Yeah, all checks later, I'mnot being paid, not being threatened.
Just it's just true. No onehas any dirt on me. It's
not blackmail. This is awkward.I have discord anyway. Um what who's
(09:01):
no? No, please, daddy? No, Oh my gosh. And
just like that. Oh listen, literally talking family. We're fine, Literally
talking family. It's all about family. You know, my left quarter mile
(09:22):
at the time. Yeah, doyou guys have any like any memories of
the podcast that you can think ofoff the top of your head that you
liked over the years, favorite momentsover the course that you've seen. I
mean, I really enjoyed the momentwhere I made a Pikachu sound and you
thought the Pikachu on your computer wastalking to you. I mean, that
(09:43):
is true. Here is said Pikachu. The audience can't see, but Pikachu's
right here. But we can see, we can. You guys can see
the Pikachu. Okay, you goback there now. No, it's always
it's always a fun time, especiallynow that I know both of you.
So I'll listen to the episodes andI'm I'll forget so times that it's recorded,
and I'll try to like respond toyou. I'm Michael, I'm just
vibing with my friends. I'm like, oh wait, they can't hear me.
(10:09):
I do that like every single episodeabout you, Jimmy guy anything breath.
Well. When I started listening tothe podcast, I hadn't had no
memory of what your voice sounded like, because I had basically exclusively spoken to
you over like some sort of textcommunication, and I did not know who
Jace was. So I had theseimages in my head of what your voice
(10:31):
sounded like, and what Jace lookedlike. And ultimately I was completely wrong
on all the vice. That's thethat's what I was going for. I
planned to throw everybody off with howmy voice sounds. Yeah, you look
nothing like Thanos. So kind ofdisappointed. I guess I should feel flattered.
(10:54):
I thank you. Listen. It'sit's balanced as everything should be,
as it should be. So I'mlike, listen, this episode is completely
balanced. Of course, chaos equalsbalance. I don't know if okay that
(11:20):
one. No, it's so Iknow the listeners. I know the listeners
can't see the Discord right now. We've got like one person in purple,
you're in like red. Jason's kindof a little bit greener, and I'm
liking this little bit more yellow andorange, like everybody's a different color.
(11:41):
Balanced chaos, balanced chaos, justlike doctor Malcolm said, chaos. You
know funny thing about Discord, likebecause Discord is something I'm relatively new too.
I know everyone's been talking about it, and I'm very familiar with the
logo, and I know that thelogo is for a game control icon.
Nevertheless, whenever I'm looking at it, I also see Mickey Mouse shorts.
(12:03):
It's I can't unsee it. Ijust wait, it's it's it's Mickey Mouse
shorts. It's clearly the shorts Isee. To me, it looks like
a teeny little alien. See that'swhat I thought it was. But now
I can't unsee the Mickey Mouse shorts. Wait, where do you get alien
face? Those circles are eyeballs. It's just like a cute thought. It
(12:26):
was just like eyes. I'm justlike a like cute alien face. So
to me, it was like pigsnowslike the snout. So this is straight
blowing my mind right now. Butnow I can't unsee Mickey Mouse shorts.
Yeah, I mean I guess thebody. No, it's definitely not.
(12:46):
And just like the logo is goingto change. Sorry Disney, Sorry everybody.
I'm gonna stop talking discords like wegot this this, we got this
cease and desists from Disney. Wedon't know why. You know. What's
awesome because that means Disney is actuallylistening to us. That is true.
Disney hire us. Please be fourof us, listen. I do a
(13:11):
great Disney princess. I'm just sayingit's true. Yeah, I mean,
how cool would it be to dolike a podcast for Disney? Like that
would be fun. It's like afull time job as a full time to
hang out with with all of you. Yeah, why not? I really
have and get paid just as much, if not more than we're getting paid
now, you know, such aterrible idea. Let's just spread that rumor
(13:33):
that Mickey Mouse shorts. I mean, I'm employed. I am completely down
right be like, we're the onesthat started that rumor about discord and Mickey
Mouse shorts. How Disney. Oh, I spread a vicious rumor that U
chad program and it's actually Mickey Mouseshorts. And then it was around exactly,
(13:56):
You're welcome everybody, and that wasit. We were done, and
that's how we became Disney plays. So yes, piece O kay, piece
O kame So Jason, I wantedto talk to you about something. Oh
boy, here it is. Seethere's this, you know, ongoing conflict
between you and I, this conflictin which that you told me that you
(14:24):
would never ever watch Super Mario Brothers, John Lucasama and Dennis Hopper. You're
forgetting somebody and Bob Hoskins. Thereyou go. And I've been trying to
get you to do this since thepodcasts inception. Yep. However, I've
been unsuccessful all of those times.I would have made it too if it
wasn't for those damn kids. AmI a child? I am a child?
(14:46):
For this? I thought that wasa reference to that. Yes it
is. I'm well, I mean, I'm a child. So there's that.
But just like all those eighties andnineties cartoon villains that fail every week,
there's always that one episode where theysucceed. Mm and this episode I
(15:07):
have succeeded. You just want toput that out there. I am the
villain. I'm the villain of thestory. Okay. Oh, I am
the villain of the story. Okay. And I made you watch Super Mario
brothers agreed after I asked you repeatedly, and Dennis Hopper exclusively in that order.
(15:33):
And I want to say, afterwatching the movie, I was actually
very thrilled to see that they namedthe people stirring in the movie in that
order. So that was a greatstart. Didn't subconsciously I didn't. No,
I didn't watch it, so itcouldn't happen sobsciously. I mean,
listen, I succeeded. I amthe best, and I'm succeeded. I
(15:56):
agreed to watch a stupid movie becausehe wouldn't shut up. Yeah, but
you agreed after me begging you foryears. Oh my god, Yes,
you wore me down. I basicallyguess how it works because I was exhausted.
You basically gave up exactly. NowYou're never going to ask I will
take the stupid movie ever again. That's not true. I might ask you
(16:18):
to watch it one more time. We're going to watch it again tomorrow,
right, why he Oh yeah, totally, I'm down for that. Well,
actually, there is another reason whywe may watch it again, and
I'm going to tell you at theend of this. So yes, welcome
everyone. This is going to bea spoiler review of Super Mario Brothers Live
Action with Dennis Hopper. It's nineteenninety three, this movie came out.
(16:45):
It is now twenty twenty one.If anyone is listening to this, I
mean, do we have to likegive the disclaimers? Still? You always
need to give the disclaimer? Allright? You never know, you've had
twenty seven years. Hold on,I'm just gonna point out here, Jason
Jimmy have never seen it, sohad we spoiled it for them. Boom
(17:07):
Movie ruined completely the listener. Thiswould have been the time I said,
all right, it's time to turnthis podcast off because I don't want to
watch this movie. That's rude.I'm just serian. I'm just saying.
If I was listening to this andI didn't know who any of you were,
I'd be laughing my butt off.I'd be having a good time making
me watch or were you because Idon't want to watch? Are you jas?
(17:30):
I'm just saying, just saying, all right. Before we get into
the review, though, I dowant to give a quick shout out to
the SMB Movie Archive. SMB,of course standing for Super Mario Brothers Movie
Archive. Movie SMB movie dot Comis their website. This movie is literally
not available to be streamed anywhere legallyunless you have a Japanese Netflix account or
(17:56):
I believe it was the other oneGerman Germany. So unless you're in those
two areas, you cannot legally streamthis movie anywhere. So I reached out
to these guys and I was like, hey, I feel like you would
be the only ones to know wherewe could stream this illegally. And they're
like, yeah, unless you gotit there, you can't get it.
So I was a little bit likesaddened. But they offered to give us
(18:18):
a copy of the film, Sowe're gonna talk a little bit more about
them afterwards, but thank you tothem for providing it, and we can
get into the review. But first, before we start with that, Jimmy,
this is the first time you've seenthis movie. What is your overall
consensus of it? So my overallconsensus of it is that I had so
(18:41):
much fun watching it with everybody, and I just had too much fun with
it. I can't really say anythinglike particularly bad because I had so much
fun. I'm sure if I watchedit in the vacuum, I could probably
tear it apart piece by piece. But absolutely, yeah, I definitely have
(19:02):
some interesting feelings that probably are verycontrary to everybody else in this group.
Okay, I mean after having seenit now for the second time and also
in this context, which was reallyfreaking fun. Yep, I have to
say the worst thing about this movieis that their names are Mario and Luigi.
(19:22):
I can dig that. I candig that. Just make it something
else and it would be fine, right, all right, we'll get into
that movie. Yeah, Jason, this is also your first time. What
did you think you know? I'mgonna have to agree with the previous comment,
which is, if you remove allthe elements of Super Mario Brothers,
(19:47):
it actually makes us somewhat decent ninetiesmovie. That's fair you, I mean,
and it's not a lot to removeme, Like you could have made
Mario Salvator. You could have namedthe other one Carmine and it would have
been just fine. They could havestill been plumbers. They could have like
(20:08):
you didn't need to call it.I'm just because they were Italians. Like,
what do you want me to say? Oh my god? I mean
now I want to go in andI want to redub like the whole movie
and just like change the names ofeveryone and just experiment to see, like,
hey, would it be better, like genuinely better if we just go
(20:29):
in and change all the names?Yeah, I mean, so if you
just removed Cooper's name, then itwould have been this really psychedelic mashup of
everything eighties and nineties, and itwould have been just like amazing on its
own, just because like it wasin a very ambitious project and it wasn't
(20:56):
as terrible as I thought it wasgoing to be, but it was never
Mario Brothers for me. Never, that's valid. Uh So I'm the only
one out of this group that hasseen this movie over six or seven times.
Why would you do that? Willingmind you to listen, My childhood
(21:18):
was not the greatest. Okay,I had a Game boy other things to
watch this world. You're not wrong, which is why I also watched Mortal
Kombat. Anyway, The point is. The point is, uh, every
time I watch it, I turnedmy brain off and I have fun.
(21:41):
Do I think it's a good movie? Not really? Is it just entertaining
just to laugh at it and tohave a good time? Absolutely? Um.
But in all honesty, like watchingit this last time was probably the
most fun that I've had watching it. And the main reason, well that's
actually multiple reasons, but one ofthe reasons is that it felt like being
(22:06):
at a theater again, carking towhat we were talking about in the last
episode with Jimmy and Godzilla and allthat, Like, you guys were cheering
when Yoshi came on, and youwere cheering when the knife got taken out,
and I was just like cheering alongwith you all, and it was
just so much fun that we wereall just in this moment, like we
didn't care whether the movie was,you know, technically good or not.
(22:30):
We were just like in that momentand it was fantastic. And that's what
I loved about at the most, just the energy that we all brought to
it together and it was fantastic.I'll have to agree with that. I
definitely, I definitely got that vibethat you would get at the theater experience.
Yeah, for sure. For sure, it's very much that fun of
the right group of people. Shenanigan'stheater chaos. Ye, so I want
(22:56):
to say that stop it chaos.I will say I did laugh a lot
during this movie because it was solike absurdly, like ridiculous, and it
just this movie is actually very uniqueand something that I can appreciate because this
movie did come out in theaters andI as a as a kid, I
(23:19):
actively avoided it and I said,I just know what this is going to
mean. If I go see it, I'm just going to leave the theater
upset. But seeing it now asan adult, it is very much an
effective time machine and it's like I'mlooking at the backdrop of New York I'm
looking at how the cars looked I'mlooking at you know, the terminology and
(23:44):
what technology looked like, and whatyou know, fantasy technology looked like.
And it's like, yep, thatwas Batman done by Tim Burton back in
the late eighties. This is avery similar shot to you know, Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtles Too, Secret ofthe Ooze, you know, just feels
(24:04):
like Johnny Mamonic with Keanu Rees. This felt like like there were so many
moments where I was just like, yeah, I can see why they're doing
this because this feels very much likeJurassic Park and the movie is filled with
that, and it's so like totalreek. I got total recall vibes in
there when they were doing a chasescene with the car that was upside down
(24:29):
on another car, and I waslike, I suppose this is Mario kard
I guess it. Yeah. Themovie is relentless. It just kept going
and you know, I have toget rid props. So like, I
haven't watched a movie like that thatwas able to take me back to a
(24:52):
place and just hit my amygdala inthe right spot to just bring me back
to a good time in my lifewhere I was like, yeah, life
is pretty good as a kid Anala, Yes, you're welcome. Something that
he really stood out to me isthat nobody in that movie, from the
(25:17):
from the set designers to the tothe people that did the music, no
one had to go as hard asthey did. But everyone went just like
hard, even the actors. Likethe acting in that movie isn't bad.
The jokes land, the script isrelatively competent. The animatronics are actually good.
I mean it's it's surprisingly well puttogether for what they had and what
(25:41):
they were working with. For sure, it is surprisingly wible together. Like
I think I said it during themovie, I'm like, Yoshi looks cool.
Like the animatronic itself is cool.Yeah, it's not Yoshi, but
it's cool. Like they actually didsome really cool things when it comes to
what you're saying though, like theactors going hard and stuff like that.
(26:03):
I wonder if the three of youknow this fact, John Legozamo and Bob
Hoskins were actually very drunk during mostof the filming. You kidding, I
would be too. John Legozamo hastalked about it in one of his books,
like they were drunk most of thetime. That's hilarious but also kind
(26:26):
of makes sense. Yeah, Iwould say was the entire cast drunk?
I don't think so. I knowthose two definitely were. I don't know
if Dennis Hopper was, I wouldimagine, who knows he actually performs really
well? They did. They alldid, honestly being you know, drunk
off their butts. But yeah,But the reason for that was because essentially,
(26:48):
when they signed up for the movie, the script was completely different from
what they actually filmed, so likethe entire movie was changed after they were
signed on. So they were basicallylike pissed that, you know, they
signed up for one movie and thenthey were given a completely different one.
So here's the curious about the othermovie? Exactly what the question is,
(27:10):
what was the previous movie that theyboth signed on for. Yeah, I
this part, I'm not one hundredpercent on. And maybe if we go
onto the Yeah Super Mario Brothers moviearchive website, they might have it there.
But um, I think it wascloser to what the games actually were
during that time. I wanted to, I really want to do. I
(27:33):
would be so curious to read thatscript exactly. I am too, I
am too. Um So, thenwhat were some of your favorite moments from
the movie off top of your head. Let's start with Melissa. I mean,
I think we both josh you whenI looked at each other when it
happened in the freaking car chase scenes. They just all of a sudden start
(27:55):
playing funicula as part of the scoreof the car. I had never before.
And the second I heard it,like you and I were like eye
to eye into the camera and wewere just like, are they really playing
that right now? They went there? They straight went there. And then
(28:17):
also just like how we talk aboutBig Bertha because she's the queen. Yes,
she she doesn't exist in Mario, but she's the queen. I mean
she's a fish fish and yeah, she's definitely a fish in the game.
Yeah, but she's not a fit. Well she doesn't have jumping boots,
(28:37):
that's for sure. It's a veryfascinating interpretation. But she's great. Would
we would you call her best Bertha, the best birtha best birtha. She
comes the rough. It's true,it's true. Gim mean, what about
You was one of your favorite moments. So I just want to say that
Mario had way too much game inthat movie, Like he literally hooked up
(29:03):
with one of the hotter girls inthe movie, and then he got John
Leguizano to hook up with the girlthat he wanted to hook up with,
and then he was able to seduceto seduce Big Bertha. I'm pretty sure
that if he tried his best,he probably could have seduced King Cooper as
well. Also, God, Iwould love to see. Also, I
really love the little bomb thing asit's walking and you can see it getting
(29:23):
pulled with the wire, you know, the proper direction, and like the
whole time my fiance sitting next tome going He's doing his best. It's
so good, fantastic, and Ilove the Ocean's great. What about you,
Jason? So coincidentally, I've beentalking about this saying that I would
(29:45):
never watch this movie starring Bob Hoskinsand John Gazamo and Dennis Hover. And
then when the movie started and Isaid, there it is. You saw
that the intro titles and the casting, and you saw Bob Hoskins, John
Amo, and Dennis Hopper. Iactually enjoyed those three the most, Bob
(30:06):
Hoskins, him and Dennis Hopper. But I love Dennis Hopper the most because
he has since passed away. Sowatching a film I wouldn't even call it
his prime, but to watch afilm where you know he was alive is
just taking a peek into history. So just watching him do his watching him
(30:30):
do his thing, you know, and playing the villain, whatever villain it
is that we saw, you know, I did enjoy it tremendously, and
by the way, King Cooper rightenjoyed that. But freaking Aunt Petunia from
Harry Potter, yes, this filmtoo. And I'm sitting there and I'm
(30:52):
like, are you guys saying thisbecause that's Petunia. I think the best
thing about it, and we allthink we're on the same page. It's
like, this is how many yearsbefore the first Harry Potter film came out,
like at least five, and they'reaccidentally referencing Harry Potter before it happened.
Yeah, her absolutely character in SuperMario Brothers pretty much echoes perfectly Aunt
(31:19):
Petunia's character and Harry Potter. Thattakes place in two thou than one.
I died laughing when she looked atthe princess and said, you have your
mother's eyes. Yeah, do youlook great in the dress too. I'm
just gonna say she looked fine,YEA did no pinch pinch stripe dress.
I'm just I was shocked. Yearslater. I'm pretty sure that's how she
(31:44):
landed the role. It has tobe, because it's like, all right,
so what have you done. Iwas in Super Mario Brothers in nineteen
ninety three, hired, so Idon't think we have any Wait a minute,
hold on, now, I thinkwe might actually have the perfect role
for you. How are you downfor a seven picture deal? What's that
(32:08):
picture deal? We want you toplay the same character the exact scn't change
the formula, just whatever you channeledfor that film channeling for this as well.
We'll change the outfits. Imagine Petuniawore that outfit in a way that'd
be weird. I feel like it'dbe accurate, or she would just be
(32:34):
a witch and not a Muggle andbe Remember she has to play the role
of a muggle. Yeah, that'strue. That's true. It's way too
colorful and flashy to be a muggle. That's true. Tone it down like
fifty with the look, but notwith the act of night percent. Let's
tone it down ninety eight percent. Then you got a Petunia, but turn
(33:00):
up that death glare. Two thousandpercent. Yes, there you go.
That is fantastic. Petunia aside,I also really enjoyed the two idiots of
the of the movie, Iggy andSpike. I don't know why. Yes,
their physical comedy is just great. Also, one of them, I'm
(33:22):
pretty sure is the dude from AShort Circuit. Yes, I forgot his
name off the top of my head, but yeah, and I also love
love Short Circuit. It was agreat movie. It was a great Yeah.
I saw a venom and I sawa Balkan Scully. Yes. When
(33:43):
I saw them, I was sohappy. They really just committed to their
role. I almost forgot about themuntil you brought them up, because there's
so many other things in that moviethat are just like because that movie is
relentless and just throws everything at youall at once. But I'd loved those
two because even they play idiots andthey play it well, and then they
play smart idiots and they play thateven better, and it's great. I
(34:07):
think that's the best part is theymake them smart and they're still stupid.
Just the bigger words. They're justthrowing all of these words out here,
and it's like, you sound evendumber than you didn't before, but I
love them like once they became oncethey became smart. Even though they were
smart dumb, they were like, all right, time to overthrow the government
(34:27):
pretty much pretty much. That's howsmart they got. They were like,
oh no, we need to thisneeds to stop there. Also, that's
also how chaotic this movie is.It's just like everything out of left field,
all of a sudden, let's goit was. And that's the other
thing too, Like pacing wise,I feel like everything is just boom boom
(34:51):
boom, but it doesn't feel likeit's going like randomly, Like there's an
actual surprising structure to it. Andit builds up fairly well, I feel,
And it builds up to the momentwhere you know they go from you
know, our world into their dimension. What did you guys think about the
actual world building in this context, like not thinking of actual Mario, but
(35:15):
like in this version of it,Like what did you think of the world
Jase, go ahead and start.Like I said, I liked the setting,
how they went well, I wasa little unsure about how it started
because there was narration, which isalways interesting to start with, and they
were giving the backstory of how dinosaursgot sent into an alternate or next dimension
(35:40):
and then you know, then wehave present day in New York. Well
though there was also a flashback tohow Daisy got to where she was,
and then there was present day.And I'm like, there's a lot of
setup for this movie, and Idon't know if it's going to pay off.
So I very much enjoyed present dayin nineteen ninety three New York because
(36:07):
that felt very familiar to me,and that was actually pretty ground rounding for
me. And then warping through thepipes or the dimension or the portal too,
I guess the Mushroom Kingdom or thefun Guy Kingdom, whatever that is.
They call it the Mushroom Kingdom. They do call it the Mushroom Kingdom.
(36:30):
And there's fun Guy everywhere. Doyou call it the mushroom Kingdom?
But it doesn't look cute at all. It doesn't look cute at it.
No, it really doesn't. Butbelieve it or not, the setting,
you know, just taking a lookat like the set design, it worked.
(36:51):
It really did work, honestly,Like if they had made that,
you know, in the eighties, that would have been a very progressive movie.
And just this ambitions and it's andits scope, So I can't knock
it as far as like this assetting and world building, it really worked.
You know. Now, if you'regoing to say, like, is
this a super Mario Brothers in movie, then the answer is, what the
(37:15):
heck are you even smoking? Likein no Universe? You know what.
I'm actually surprised that Nintendo didn't likeentertain the idea of making a Mario game
based on the likeness of Bob Hoskins. Tell link was not only stopper.
That would actually have been interesting becausethen you would have had this, yeah,
(37:37):
they well, you would have hadthis paradigm where you had Bob Hoskins
looking a lot like Russian Mario. The meme, the Russian Mario meme.
It would have been great because it'sjust like, how far can you actually
take this? I was fully expectingBob Hoskins to like pull out like a
machine gun and like slaughter everybody knowthat's just the Shadow of the Hedgehog from
(38:00):
Sonic Um. But yeah, Imean you Chico Shadow no Sonic three hopefully,
Alyssa, what did you think aboutthe world than the world that they
created in this version? Same thing? I it's knowing Mario, Yeah,
(38:23):
I'm exactly the same thing. It'slike, it's not Mario like at all.
Literally nothing about it as Mario. But if you can take it apart,
which is the problem because you kindof can't, it's great and then
you go it's Mario, Go oh, it's not great. But I have
(38:43):
to echo everything that Jay said.It is external from Mario, a great
fun world. I think that thedevelopment of it is really interesting. And
also, we can't forget about Dad. That is the one thing every time
I watch this movie, I'm justlike, no, if you could have
(39:07):
changed anything, change that, please, because because why the entire fungus in
the entire Mushroom Kingdom is Dad.I will never understand these choices, don't
That is yeah? Gross? Itis very gross, is Roal gross?
(39:29):
What about you? Jimmy? SoI kind of have to break this up
a little bit. So I wantto talk about the thing I really like
the most the most, So that'sthe Mushroom Kingdom segment. So first off,
I don't know Jack Diddley squad aboutMario. I mean, I like
know of Mario. I don't knowanything about Mario. So like everything I
(39:49):
know is about as much as likeanyone in pop culture would understand of Mario.
I know him as a character.I know some of the characters that's
around him. That's about it.I liked the way the Mushroom Kingdom was
that really gave me kind of aborderline Mad Maxi mixed with a cyberpunk kind
of set up, very similar toTank Girl most of the comics, not
(40:10):
so much for the movie which comeout you a couple of years later,
girl, but I got kind oflike a tank Girl vibe, makes kind
of a cyberpunky Mad Maxi vibe. And I really appreciated how they were like
small details that they kind of continuedwith with, like you know, the
street food that the people would eat, the way that the signs were laid
out, just the way that everythingwas, or the fact that all the
(40:32):
cars ran on a specific electrical gridor that. Like there's just so many
details that they put into the worldthat I was like, oh, wow,
this is kind of cool. Idid not really care for all the
God words, words are hard.I did not care. I did not
(40:55):
care so much for all of theat the beginning narrator when they're trying to
explain everything, because I feel likethose are things that they could have shared
through dialogue later on. You know, there were some things that they revealed
in the beginning them just like youcould have put this on later and it
would have been more impactful. That'sore here, No, they're The one
(41:15):
issue I really had with the buildingof everything is we have this big disaster
that everyone's building up too, andthen all of a sudden, everybody starts
to phase into the real world fromthe mushroom Kingdom. But they phase there
for like two seconds and then nothinghappens, and it's like, Okay,
that was a lot of build upfor nothing. I mean, I understand
(41:36):
that in the other world they're tryingto like reseal the thing by pushing the
crystal the hole and stopping disaster, but could at least have a little bit
of disaster in the real world.I mean, it's a little disasters nice,
sure, a little more chaos, right, yeah, just a little
bit. Yeah, that really istrue. It didn't quite process until you
said it. Truly. They phaseinto the real world for like less than
(42:00):
a minute and did turn the dudeinto a monkey, though they did turn
the dude into any that's true.Yeah, I mean I agree with pretty
much everything all of you said, and like just the look of the city
that they're in, it's I alwaysthought was really really cool. Kind of
(42:22):
what you said earlier, Jason,it reminded me of like total recall.
It reminded me of like ghosts inthe show. Honestly, it reminded me
of like any of those futuristic cities. And I always always loved the designs
of like the cars, like thepolice cars in particular. I always love
the design Whenever I watched those movies, I'm like, I want a car
(42:43):
like that. That's pretty cool andyou know, running on the whole electrical
right, just like you were saying, Tommy. So like in terms of
like this world that they build,I really enjoy it. But just like
all of you, we all agree, is it Mario? Absolutely not far
from it? Though, when theyput on the blue and red and the
(43:04):
green and blue outfits, when theyput on the color outfits, I was
a little bit hyped. Yeah,we were all hype. We were all
just cheering for that quick moment. It was like an Avenger suit up moment
right there. When that happened. We all had fun at that part.
True, how did we think abouthow did We like the way that they
incorporated some of the mechanics from thegame. So like, for example,
(43:25):
Mario obviously is known for jumping,so they gave him like those shoes that
allow him to jump. What dowe think about that? Oh my god,
it's pretty hilarious. It's kind ofamazing the fact that they made it
work in any type of capacity.Yeah, I appreciate the effort that they
(43:47):
put into, like trying to makethat mechanic work in some quote unquote realistic
fashion. But oh my god,I did nothing but laugh every time they
were on screen. And then wehad the ice sledding, because you know,
that was mandatory of course, andthis was and I thought about it
(44:10):
after this is technically before Mario sixtyfour. Did they have that in the
earlier games? I can't remember. Is that where it really became like ump
the fact that I don't know thatit was in anything before sixty four.
Yes, Super Mario Brothers too.It wasn't okay, it was an ice
level. I don't know if theywere tunnel Uh no, definitely not.
(44:32):
And I have so I am aMaria Brothers fan, like a Super Mario
Brothers fan, Like I remember gettingthe original NIS. I remember getting you
know, Mario Brothers and I playedit for like for months, basically because
I didn't have a lot of games. So the games that I did have,
I played them a lotch and Igot very you know, I got
(44:55):
very close to the game, becauseyou just whatever you' spend time with anything,
you're just gonna know it more intimatelyin anything. I never got Super
Mario Brothers three when it came out. I wanted to do I do.
I did eventually get it, ButSuper Mario Brothers Too was a strange game
because it was very much a departurefrom whatever the heck happened in the previous
(45:21):
game. So so needless to say, like, you know, and I've
mentioned this many times before, whenthey were talking about making a Mario Brothers
movie, I was initially excited, and you know, watching the commercial,
I said, oh no, I'mno, I'm just I'm gonna stand firm
(45:42):
and say I'm not going to watchthis. Watching it now, I can
very much tell like during the productionof the movie, they were like,
all right, so we're gonna makea movie about like two Italian plumbers ago
into this mushroom kingdom to save Daisyfrom certain doom and vent the world from
going to chaos. And then therewas that one person all the way in
(46:04):
the back and not to you know, make a connection to our guest here,
but his name is Jimmy, andJimmy is very excited, and it
was just like, what about thejumping. We gotta do the jumping.
I got a great idea for thejumping. We gotta do this. He's
got shoes and it's gotta spring andwhen you press it, he jumps really
high. I have the whole thingmapped out. It's gonna work out.
(46:28):
And I'm like, okay, yeah, So Jimmy's on the on the jumping
and we're gonna do the rest ofthe film and then you just let me
know. He's like, so we'lltake it. I mean, it's like
I am imagining, you know, the astronaut Lego in the Lego movie.
(46:52):
Yeah. Nice, it's just jumping. That's who. That's what he did
for the entire film. He didnothing else but just talk about how important
it is to jump. And likeI can tell that, Yes, I
mean, you're welcome. This iswhat I'm gonna say, thank you for
that. I'm just thinking about, like even how the jumping even occurred in
(47:15):
the film was just really strange tome because I'm looking at it. It
was just like, Okay, that'sBertha, but that really should have been
Burto. That really would have workedas Berto and I would have I would
have it would have appreciated a lotmore if her name was changed to Berto,
(47:36):
it would have been great. Idon't know, Bertha, Bertha was
like MVP of the movie. I'mnot saying that she's not. Again,
we're talking about name changes. Didn'thave to be Birtha could have been Burto,
and it would have been just great. It could have been it could
We also cannot forget the nightmare fuelthat is the gumbas. Yeah, actual
(48:02):
f Yeah, that's the one thingwe haven't brought. I think I think
that is honestly the biggest WTF wereyou doing thing in the entire movie,
Like all of it, it's like, okay, this is not really Mario,
but that is the most just like, how do you take this little
(48:23):
mushroom and turn it into this mushroom? Is it a mushroom? Gumba is
not all right? Hold on,you guys, refer a secause like mushroom
a mushroom. I agree. I'vealways said that, but I never actually
discussed this with someone who stated thata gumba is a mushroom. So that's
(48:51):
interesting. I have always assumed thatit is a sentient mushroom. From my
untrained eyes, a gumba is eithera mushroom or something else. Immediately when
you search gumba, gumbas, knownin Japan as prettybo are a mushroom like
species from Nintendo's Mariofrinch. Hey,there you go, there you go.
(49:13):
So we take a mushroom like speciesand turn it into a tiny headed lizard
devolved human, but that somehow hasthe largest body ever and the tiniest nightmare
fuel head. It's a refrigerator witha head on it. It's ridiculous.
What the heck? What's going onduring film? I think Jimmy had we
(49:36):
also designed the Oh my god? Also, why did we turn Toad into
a goomba? Well, that actuallywould make sense. Actually, you can't
hang that. Mhm. That's true. I just hold on. I love
this description. So I'm reading throughthe goomba Wikipedia page. In the SUPERVI
(50:00):
others live action movie, gumbas wereoriginally inhabitants of dinoh Hatton, who opposed
the tyrannical president King Kooba's rule andwere devolved as punishment for their disloyalty in
the film. Upon being de evolved, these people who became gumbas, who
were large reptilian monsters as opposed tothe usual mushroom appearances, is seen in
the games with hulking bodies and disproproprimatelysmall circular heads who wore trench coats.
(50:24):
I love that I have the trenchcoats. Dino Hatton, dinoh Hatton.
That's I guess that's what it's officiallycalled. I don't think we ever heard
that in the film itself. No, we did not say mushroom Kingdom.
They did say. But then ifyou notice, like the globe that Kopa
(50:44):
spins when he's talking to Daisy, there's literally just like Manhattan or Dinohhatson and
then nothing else and nothing. That'sit, Like that's all it is.
And I'm like, all the dinosaursjust reconvene on Manhattan and that's it,
Like is that is there new otherdinosaurs and the rest of the world,
Like is it like is it reallytotally calm? I don't know. Either
(51:08):
wanted the same could be, couldbe, could be. It's crazy.
So it's insane, right, Likethe fact that this movie exists though,
is insane to me. Um,So, yeah, that's accurate. So
I'm going to ask you all thisquestion then, if you could change it
to be more like Mario, whatis like the one major thing that you
(51:31):
would change everything everything? Okay, narrow it down, buddy. I'm just
so, I'm actually, I amon the same page that I'm just like,
I am actually legitimately like confused asto why it's twenty twenty one and
we haven't had a feature led animatedfilm. I don't even care if a
(51:57):
we're live action, Like, whyhaven't we had a Are Your Brothers film?
Wow, we'll be coming out nextyear. I believe was it made
by Wait? You actually serious?Yeah, there's an animated film that they've
had in the works for a longtime now. Miyamoto is apparently involved as
a producer, so like they're tryingto make sure that the production stays true
(52:21):
to the actual like Mario characters.Uh, it's yeah, it's a animated
film made by who makes the DespicableMe movies? Illumination Illumination. Why can't
we just give it to the peoplethat actually created the actual character. Was
(52:43):
saying, Miamoto is part of it, discussing it with him. Yeah,
Nintendo and Miamoto are like trying theirbest to make sure that the movie stays
true to it and illumination. Despitebeing known for like Despicable Me and especially
for minions, they have made reallygood things in the past and they are
good animators. Ask are just astudio? Yeah, I agree, like
(53:05):
Blue Sky, which by the layrissin peace because they don't exist anymore.
Yeah, no, no, they'regone Disney. Disney shut that issue down.
I thought they were going by Sony. Nope. Blue Guy Ice Age
that's actually on Disney Plus is ownedby Disney. It was Fox, wasn't
(53:27):
it. Blue Guy used to beFox Animation Studios, and Fox Animation was
shut down after Titan Ae, whichI love that. That's such a good
movie. I love that film, but it bombed at the box office because
like no one knew what the audiencewas because people in America were like,
Oh, is this the kids movie? It's animated, and then they're like,
this is not a kids movie.I feel like this is something that
(53:50):
we've actually, like Jimmy and Ispecifically have talked about a lot in the
last couple of weeks that there isthis stigma in America that if it's animated,
it's a kids movie, and we'relike, no, no, Well
literally, you can kind of blameDisney for that just saying I mean,
yes, yes, correct, butthey literally win on Yeah, but they
(54:10):
literally win awards for animated films thatwere made for children, so it kind
of said a crazy precedent. Well, the funny thing about that is Disney
made a name for themselves in theUnited States, specifically in the United States,
and because of them, especially lobbyistswho tried to push for having an
animation category within the Oscars, Disneyconsistently got wins. But when we started
(54:35):
getting exposed to other films and othercountries, those weren't winning Oscars simply because
the people who were in charge ofjudging the films would just straight give it
to Disney. I can't remember whatyear it was, but they got a
couple of people who were supposed tobe judging Oscar animated films and they just
went out and just said, yeah, we just don't watch them, we
just give them to Disney. Soliterally, you've got all these great films
that aren't being watched that are betterthan the Disney films. Oh yeah,
(55:00):
wow wow wow boo yeah. Andwe mentioned we wanted jobs for Disney.
We're technically booing them. We're booingthe Oscar watching teams. There's a lot
of things that have definitely pushed theidea that animation is for kids. But
(55:21):
like even that's kind of a fallacyand people don't even see that. You
have so many animated shows on TV, like the animated sitcoms like South Park,
The Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, clearly adult animation, but for
some reason, people still have itin their mind that if it's an animated
movie, it's definitely for kids. And like I said, this is a
(55:42):
very Western concept because, especially inAsia, you have films coming out of
the Philippines that are clearly adult orientedfilms out of of course Japan that are
all all demographics that you can imagine. I've got Korean animated films coming out
that are definitely all ages. You'vegot these Irish animated films like Secret Life
of Tell or Secret of Tell's andSomething of the Wolves that need to look
(56:06):
that up in the sea. Yeah, Wolfwalkers on the Sea. So you've
got like these great films coming outof different countries that aren't getting the attention
that they should because people think animatedfilms are for kids in the US right
well, when Disney has been literallyhave been pioneering animation and inspiring others to
(56:28):
up their game when it comes tofor the last what eighty plus years,
I mean, it's kind of understandablethat most people would think that, yeah,
cartoons are for kids, and that'sit, and it's an art form.
It's totally an art form because thinkabout it, like, you're not
(56:49):
just filming this, I mean you'recrafting it. You're you have to construct
this film. Honestly, if yougo and watch rewatch Beauty and the Beast,
the way that they constructed that filmis mind boggling. And the way
that they made that film isn't theway that they made films today. I
(57:09):
think, I truly believe that themovies that came from Disney at that time
were the pinnacle of hand drawn animation. And what they were doing at that
time was just insane to me.And I don't know if we're ever going
to go back to that. Sothe two D renaissance of animation was definitely
(57:30):
late eighties into the nineties, especiallyfor Disney, and they pushed what you
could do. Especially I think it'sGlenn Keene I believe his name is You're
right, right, and he reallypushed what you could do. And even
his last major film that got likea lot of attention at least a two
D film, Tarzan. We're talkinga film that like went real hard in
(57:53):
terms of animation. He changed thegame and the way that the character movements
work. The nineties into the earlytwo thousands were big for that two D
renaissance. I don't think we're goingto be going back to two D anytime
though, because Disney decided that it'snot cost effective and people don't want to
go see those movies. They dothey do if you give a compelling story,
(58:17):
yeah, the people will see it. Well. I was gonna say,
they have the perfect opportunity now, especially with Disney Plus, like they
can go ahead and start redoing thoseand they don't necessarily have to worry about,
oh what if this doesn't make moneyat the theater anymore, because now
they have a huge audience that hasDisney Plus, So they could very well
go back to that style now,it would not be as like, yeah,
(58:45):
they could if they wanted to.But as far as two D animation
goes in Disney, they've kind ofstuck with the more puppet style of animation,
where within the programs that they use, they make it easier to animate
the characters as opposed to animating onones or twos like you normally would.
And I feel like they're probably gonnastick with that as far as television goes,
and I don't think they're going tomove back to movies with it,
(59:05):
primarily because of the technology that they'vebeen pushing for three D animation. So
if you don't know the way thatDisney does their pipeline animation, they kind
of animate it in two D firstbefore bringing it into three D, and
so the three D animation flows muchlike to two D animation. It really
is a nice mix. You reallyare able to tell the difference when you
see a Disney three D animated filmcompared to like a three D animated film
(59:28):
from another studio, because that isthe big fundamental difference. That's fair.
That's fair. Yeah, I mean, who knows what Disney is gonna do
in the future, right, theycould do it, they could not do
it. And by the way,Jimmy, he said that they went hard
on Tarzan for the animation. Theyalso went hard on the music. I
(59:51):
mean Phil Collins did not play Ohyeah, I mean, good lord,
but what the heck he's slowed down. Have you seen the behind the scenes
on him then dubbing all of thesongs in different languages himself. Yeah,
but he's so he wouldn't recorded forall the different dubs of the movie the
(01:00:16):
same songs but in the different languages. And like he went hard on all
of those and the whole time,it's just like Phil, Phil, you
know, this is a movie abouta kid raised by monkeys, right,
Like, you don't have to growthe hard man. And if Phil Collins
was like, excuse me, I'mPhil Collins. I always go hard.
(01:00:36):
That says something. Though, Imean I have to appreciate it, because
I mean, we we don't mincewords. We are very much Disney fans,
and you can appreciate it. Whyis it that when you go in
and you see a film and youstart feeling teary eyed, that isn't an
artificial emotion that just kind of happens. That is something that is done very
intentionally. I don't mean to startcutting onions here, but like when I
(01:01:01):
watch Finding Nemo and there's this momentwhere Dori is very emotional towards the end
and she's trying her very best topull like her memories together and it's not
working, and she's just like,I know when I I'm thinking of you,
(01:01:22):
I know I'm home. And it'slike every single time that you watch
that pulls a specific emotion. Well, if you break down that entire scene,
what was the story purpose, howwas it drawn, how was it
(01:01:43):
acted, what was the direction forEllen DeGeneres to get that voice acting out?
And how are you going to conveythis visually? And then when you
convey that in the character, whatis the color scheme gun look like?
Because you don't want the color schemeto convey something that is lighthearted and joyous
(01:02:08):
and happy. You wanted everything tobe on the same page. Whatever it
is that they're doing, it worksso perfectly. So every single time you
see this you literally start to tearup. And it happens on all their
movies. It's not like they everlet up and say like, ah,
(01:02:29):
this is just a throwaway movie. We're just gonna, you know, just
kind of tossed us to decide.I mean, they do it every single
time Lion kings the other one,but we're not gonna get into that.
Yeah, as far as Pixel isconcerned, they're kind of like they have
boiled emotional manipulation down to an art. Basically, excuse me, they're called
(01:02:52):
mental terrorists. Continue they have theirtwenty two rules of storytelling that they've follow
for almost every one of their features, and it is like they literally call
it the twenty two Rules of storytelling. You can find infographics on it,
you can find like whole articles onit. But that's why those are especially
good at punching you in the facelooking at you. First ten minutes of
(01:03:15):
UP, Oh God, every timeterror if I so much. I hear
the music from the beginning of UP. It's just like, no, screw
you, I'm not going to listento this. Just to this day,
I refuse refuse to watch Toy Storythree because I know that I will not
(01:03:38):
be ready to live my life thenext day. And just looking at everyone
here just twisting their their face andturning over like I can tell like you
guys feel the same way. It'slike, I know, like, if
I'm watching Toy Story three, I'mjust gonna call out the next day.
It's just not gonna happen. Like, oh, Jase, do you want
(01:03:59):
to watch Toy Story three? Absolutelythe fuck not, because to myself,
I just don't. I don't.I mean, alternately, alternately, so
I haven't seen four. I needto watch four or it's not bad.
Four is actually really good, butthree four hurt me more than three.
Oh no, no, no,no, that's wild. I can't do
(01:04:21):
it three. Nope. See nowI'm just imagining you being like I need
a reason to not go to worktomorrow. Can we watch our Story three?
Oh my gosh, hey, whatare you all doing after this podcast
recording? Not? I go,Yeah, that's a no hard pass it.
(01:04:49):
I mean that movie. God,I don't. I don't cry ever
when I watch a movie. ButI remember being in that theater and I
was just holding back so hard becauseI was about to like just drip anyway.
You know that's not healthy. Youjust have to let that ish go,
you know that, right? Icry in the theater. I cried
(01:05:11):
when I got home, obviously.Oh I cry at a tater all the
time. When King of Dora cameon screen and Godzilla versus or Godzilla versus
We're King of the Monsters. WhenGodzilla came King of Door came on the
screen, Oh my god, Ijust randomly throughout words out of my mouth
when King of Door came up there, I was in tears. I was
crying. I was like, ohmy god, this is the most amazing
thing I've ever seen in my life. It's so beautiful and like, I
(01:05:34):
really cry. I will. Iwill probably cry when Spider Man three comes
out later this year. So ifeverything that comes to pass is true,
I will probably cry at that.I so a few things. Avengers and
Game had me in pieces just sayyeah pieces pieces. When when when Peter
(01:05:57):
Parker comes in and says, wedid it, I'm like a home on,
Like, what are you doing tome right now? Marvel? What
the heck? Yeah? That's it'shard. It's absolutely hard. And you
know, I don't know. There'ssomething to be said about these movies that
consistently hit these moments every single time. I mean, you have to you
(01:06:23):
have to craft, you know thisin a very specific way to elicit these
emotions, because that's where the payoffhappens, and it's not just the scene,
right, you have to craft theentire movie. The only reason why
that death of Tony Stark worked isbecause his story was actually complete. It
(01:06:43):
would not have held the same weightif he didn't complete his arc. So
and it's actually like expertly done ifyou actually sit down and you rewatch,
if you have the time to sitdown and watch a three hour movie,
look very carefully at Tony Stark, the way he interacts with cap and just
in deciding to go back into thepast again into the seventies. It's like
(01:07:09):
it's so quick you don't even realizeit. But Tony Stark literally says,
you trust me, and Captain Americaobviously agrees. But in that scene he's
getting confirmation of trust, which issomething that was broken in the previous movie.
And how it starts, it's sosmart. It's so smart. You
think that you know, these thingsjust kind of happen together, but you
(01:07:30):
have to craft this, and youknow, I think they take that into
consideration when you know you're making athree hour movie. It was like,
all right, what doesn't make thecut? Well, help chumping, you
know, with a big giant satellitedish with people inside of it needs to
go. So let's cut that onebecause that one doesn't hold any weight.
(01:07:55):
But like, even more so thanthat, Tony Stark's arc within the whole
series was just amazing because he watchedthis self centered man become a superhero,
stay the superhero for the fame, realize that just how deep he's in when
the actual world is threatened, getsPTSD from that, tries to cope by
(01:08:17):
making things right quote unquote, butin such a forceful way that it causes
discourse. And like the more thathappens, like he becomes more and more
falling back on that old trait ofself centeredness, and like he doesn't want
to give up any of this newstuff that he's finally got for him in
this future. And then he decides, I know what's going to happen.
(01:08:41):
I know what I have to do. I'm the only one that can do
this and literally sacrifices all of thehappiness that he had finally cultivated for himself.
It's so interesting to watch that arcof like very selfish to literally sacrificing
everything. YEA, yeah, absolutely, that's what ten years of storytelling him
(01:09:01):
did. Yeah, just love Marvelso much fun, Marvel so great,
so great? You know how greatMarvel is? How great is it?
Do you know how great Marvel is? We've been literally talking about Marvel for
like the last fifteen twenty minutes andcompletely forgot about Super Mario. Bro.
Whoa, that's what has episodes about? Wait Mario? Who is hecent of
(01:09:23):
the world has quirks? Excuse me, let's go. Let's go to you,
not brothers. It's Salvatore and Carmine. I kind of want to do
my hero Academia one now, pleasetalk about please, I'll wear my all
(01:09:44):
my I'm watching it for the firsttime right now, so I'm here for
it. Well, i'll watch it. Just let's let watch Dragon Ball Evolution.
Please, let's just not do that. Don't worry. You got a
one hundred episodes to worry about. No, we don't. For now,
though we don't. We're uh whereI convince you for this movie. I'm
gonna convince you for that one.So yeah, that was all of our
(01:10:06):
thoughts on Super Mario Brothers. Solike complete asters. We loved it so
much. Yeah, we liked itso much we start talking about other good
movies. Let's just talk about wandDivision because I don't know that time.
I mean, but like, no, wand Division is gonna be its own
episode and we're gonna talk about theentire series. Oh, I would love
(01:10:30):
to absolutely loved too, because Ican't. This panel wants to return for
One Division. I can't stop gushingabout this show. I just I just
keep watching it. Do you understandI'm insane. I'm insane. Oh,
we are losing our minds over inthis house. Yeah, because everyone keeps
asking me next, I'm like,I don't know, you asked me like
(01:10:51):
I created the show. Absolutely yeah, three weeks, three weeks from now,
it's over, three more episodes left. I don't know. I heard
I heard this a rumor that wemight get a tenth episode. I heard
that rumor. Everyone's looking at me, like, so potentially three weeks,
maybe four, we'll see. We'llhave a panel discussion for one Division for
(01:11:12):
all of us that are here,So don't worry. That's gonna be a
whole thing on its own. Um. So I'm gonna ask one last question
about Mario before we move on toour second and I guess final topic.
Um, would you all watch thismovie again? Yes? Or now with
the right people. Yes, you'reasking a lot for me right now.
(01:11:36):
Really, so the reason I askyou tell me they're making a freaking sequel.
So no, no, they're notmaking the sequels finally happening. Imagine,
I go watch it. Let's go. It's gonna be a little hard
when two out of the three mainactors are you know, no longer with
(01:12:00):
us. It's fine. Hollywood hascultivated technology for that. It's fine.
That's true. They can just digitizeall their faces. Star Wars doesn't care,
They really don't. The reason Iask is because so that are good
friends who sent us the film, the supermra brother movie arc movie dot com.
They're actually working on a four Kcut of the film, and on
(01:12:27):
top of that, they've also restoringabout thirty minutes worth of new footage that's
never been seen before. Oh mygod. Not only are they working on
a four K cut, but theyhave thirty minutes of footage that was never
used that they're restoring it with. So, first off, I'm confused that
there are fans dedicated enough to dothat. It's fair. I'm actually down
(01:12:50):
for that. What's your I'm sohere for this because what thirty minutes of
what. I don't know, butI probably want wanted exactly. I'm hyped.
But I mean, like I said, if you want me to go
in and change all their names likeSalvatore Salvatore and Luigi Salvatore, like I'll
do it. Carmine's Carmine Salvatore, get it right. I feel like one
(01:13:13):
of them just needs to be namedJohnny. Like that's the most New York
Italian name, Johnny. We gotJohnny, and we got Tony. Yes,
Tony, Tony and Johnny. Let'sgo to. All the Mario names
have been removed the super To brothersexcept for Bertha. Bertha is actually named
(01:13:34):
Berto for some strange reason, andit works perfect. Yeah, we can
make this movie. Let's go Yes. I mean, Jimmy can straight up
do this. We have the I'vedone production film before, so this would
be like a walk in the parkfor me, to be honest, all
right, this is happening all rightabout Mario. I mean that's also as
(01:13:59):
a wild as way. Honestly,we've been talking about Mario for like I
don't know how long, and it'slike I was reluctant to do this because
Mario is actually a beloved franchise, and there's a game that just came out.
Apparently I'm the only one that gotthis game, but I did.
Anyway, It's Super Mario Brothers BreedyWorld for the Switch, which is a
(01:14:23):
re release game, and I actuallyhave Bowser's Fury on it too. I
actually enjoyed the game. The gamewas actually a lot of fun. Johsh
Recently, you also got what wasit, the Three D All Stars,
and we said that we were goingto talk about that, which we never
did. I'm very upset with younow. I mean we discussed it in
(01:14:47):
passing, we never actually did afull review, and we don't have to
do it now, which is fine. We got time, but that's fine.
It's good. It's no. Ithink it great. I mean this.
I don't know why we have totalk about Maria Brothers the movie.
It's just I'm hoping for an actualMario Brothers movie so that can cleanse my
(01:15:11):
palette. Listen, next year,we don't we don't have to wait.
Hopefully, maybe at the end ofthe year we'll get a trailer and then
we'll see what happens. I thinkit's still on track for for next year.
So we should be getting something probablyat the end of the year,
trailer wise or more announcements. Yeah. When I looked it up earlier,
last thing I saw it was twentytwenty two. Yeah. Cool. Hopeful
the Verona doesn't throw us all over. Oh my god, I just need
(01:15:35):
run to leave, please please, because yeah, Rona's banned from the party.
She needs to get out. Exactlyall right, you know what have
you? What have you sent us? It's a trailer in front of Yes.
So the final piece of this chaoticpuzzle that we call a podcast currently
(01:15:56):
is for the The Justice League trailerthat draws on Valentine's Day. No less,
I was very much Yeah, therewas a love letter from Zack Snyder
to myself with this trailer. It'sfantastic. It was written for me and
me only, but I decided toshare it with you all. Who has
seen the trailer, Hi said, the cat has ja Melissa, did you
(01:16:20):
watch it? And I'm the loserout? Nice? If you want to
take this moment and watch it whilewe start off, you can you can
see if you're working it up realquick. Perfect. Um. So my
first question while Elis is watching it, who was waiting for this this cut,
(01:16:42):
Like, jac I kind of knowa little bit about your take on
it, Jimmy, what's your takeon the cut? So I've been waiting
for this for a long time.So I actually enjoyed Batman v. Superman,
not the theatrical cut, but theextended cut, the ultimate. Yeah.
And I actually tend to like theextended or ultimate cuts of Zack Snyder's
films more than the theatrical cuts anyway, because Zack Snyder's kind of a strange
(01:17:08):
director to me, where his theatricalcuts are pretty bad to me, but
then like his actual extended cuts, like what he wanted, I really like
those. So when I saw Batmanv. Superman, I was like,
Okay, they're getting us hyped forJustice League. I'd be excited to see
what they do next with it.And then, of course, unfortunately the
(01:17:28):
tragic things that happened to Zack Snyderthat eventually got him pulled from the project
and whatnot, and I was verydisappointed with what we got instead. It
was it was it was not atall anything that continued any of the thematics
that we had established in the previousmovie. We got no dark side,
(01:17:49):
which was kind of a rip off, you know, I mean some would
argue we barely got Steppenwolf, butyou know, oh yeah, we barely
got step In. And I knowa lot of the production history behind this.
How they've got like several hours worthof footage that Zack Snyder's shot and
almost I think what like thirty orforty minutes of that was only used with
(01:18:14):
how many ninety minutes? Ninety minuteswas created from Joss Whedon. Yeah,
so Zack Snyder's footage only Yeah,so about thirty minutes. Yeah, it's
it's it's crazy. And first off, that's a huge difference. That's an
entirely different movie, Like, there'sno question about it. And plus,
(01:18:36):
like once I saw the trailer. Now, now that I've seen the trailer,
I'm like, oh, it's niceand pretty. I see that cinematography
that that's Zack Snyder really likes topush, and oh, I'm excited.
And Plus, we live in asociety. It's currently society. I say
(01:18:58):
so. I Actually I have notseen the extended version of Batman v.
Superman. I only saw the theatricalcut, and I would be very curious
to see the extended version because Iwhen I saw that movie, in theaters.
Was angry. I was like, this is terrible, Like, there
is so much wrong with this. No, I hated it. It made
me angry. So knowing that thereis and I trust Jimmy's opinion on this,
(01:19:24):
an extended cut that fixes a lotof the problems that were in the
theatrical cut, I would be verycurious to watch that before this new Justice
League because that I also have notseen the original theatrical release of Justice League
the theatrical. The theatrical cut hasbeen totally chop shopped up compared to the
extent I have the extended edition hereso I can show that to you at
(01:19:46):
some point in the near future, because it really is very different. Things
are paced a lot better, characterarcs actually flow a little bit. That
was I mean, that's the biggestissue is the pacing. It's just a
giant question mark, like what areyou doing? And it very much felt
like they tried to put three hoursof plot in under two hours of film,
(01:20:11):
which clearly they did. Ye.So Lois's whole arc of figuring out,
like Luther's plan, is completely cutout in the theatrical version. Yeah
yeah, So like like you're you'rewatching that movie and theatrical sense, you're
like, wait, how does thatmake sense? How did they figure that
out? And then you watch theextended cut and you're like, oh,
that makes much more sense the extendedcut. The extended cut is literally thirty
(01:20:34):
minutes longer than the theatrical cut.Right, that's well, that's like a
huge amount of Like that's a lotof fun. So yeah, you're not
missing much when it comes to watchingthe Justice League theatrical cut that's out now,
So you just watched it, right, Yeah, where do you think
(01:20:55):
it looks? Hype as hell?Yeah, So I'm personally excited. I
did for this for two reasons. One will replace whatever we got, you
know, two three years ago.Now at this point I came out,
what twenty seventeen. Oh yeah. But on top of that, what I'm
more excited about is the fact thatwe actually get to see Zack Snyder's vision
(01:21:16):
like completed. Whether it's good orbad, that's going to be determined when
we watched this movie in about amonth. But the fact that he was
given the chance to finish what hestarted, that's what I'm more most excited
to see. What are you excitedabout? Jay's because you don't look excited
right now. I'm absolutely very excited. So oh, that's not true.
I'm plenty excited. Man of SteelI very much enjoyed. Even to this
(01:21:41):
day. There were people trashing likethis is Man of Steel is a great
movie. I will constantly defend thatmovie. Batman Versus Superman was weird.
But whatever that movie morphed constantly whileit was coming out. There was a
Superman sequel that it was featuring Batman. Then Batman had a title in the
(01:22:04):
in the title, I don't Imean whatever. You know, at this
point, I'm excited that we're gettingthese movies. So I think when we
talked about Justice League, I kindof liked it, and we had a
discussion about what was happening at thattime because we thought it was weird that
(01:22:26):
it was just stepping down. Itfelt weird when we were getting that news,
like we weren't getting the full story. And so when I saw that
film, I thought I had twothoughts. Number One, I liked it,
not because I thought it was likeamazing, but all right, the
movie is over, and I didn'treally think that we were going to get
(01:22:46):
anything more from that. And numbertwo, I had to be I have
been telling you this from I don'tknow how long we've been running this show,
but if you look at Man ofSteel, Batman, for Superman,
and the current Justice League, itis the Superman trilogy because it effectively ends,
(01:23:09):
it starts, and then completes hisarc in that movie series, and
everyone else is just a supporting character. Batman is a supporting character, wonder
Woman is a supporting character. Supermanis the only one who literally dies at
the end of Batman Versus Superman andthen returns as the hero were born.
(01:23:30):
So in that regard, I appreciatedthat movie series a lot more than most.
Was Justice League weird, absolutely, but it wasn't like I believe that
there was another movie that was waitingin the wings because we didn't get the
full story. Then the rumors startcoming out, released a Snyder cut,
and it was trending and then nottrending. It was trending and not trending
and trending and not trending. Sowith this trailer and all of the you
(01:23:57):
know, the interviews that have beenhappening, we're getting a lot more information
about what was happening. I suppose. While I am very excited about this
movie. I really want there tobe a moment where Warner Brothers kind of
just as this public statement. Andthey may not, but I would love
(01:24:17):
a public statement from them saying likewe kind of messed up on this,
because clearly it wasn't Snack Snyder right, like he wanted his vision and it's
coming out now. This isn't JossSweden. John Sweden was literally hired by
Warner Brothers studio to finish the filmthat they wanted finished. Right, Whether
(01:24:42):
John Sweeden is a good person abad person like that doesn't mean anything to
me. Like he was hired todo a film and he completed the film
that they wanted, and Warner Brotherswas confident enough to say, we're good
with this, let's release. Itdidn't really work out well for them,
so like we keep trusting these guysto release these movies out to us,
(01:25:03):
and I'm like, can you guysget it together? Like let the artists
do what the artists do, Likeit's I'm tired of it. Like,
man, now this is gonna bethis weird moment where you know, like
March eighteenth comes around, we seethe film, We're like, all right,
this is way better than what wegot or I kind of like how
(01:25:25):
they were going, and then there'sgonna be these two camps and then Morner
Brothers just kind of sits in andcollects and they never fess up to anything,
and it's all nonsense, and I'mlike, guys, can't keep doing
this, like these people's lives atstake here, you guys. I do
like the trailer though, Yeah, now the trailer looks dope. I'm I'm
piped. It's it's a month awaylike March eighteenth comes out. Are you
(01:25:50):
gonna watch it through all the waybecause listen, I don't know if you
know this, Jimmy based it's afour hour movie, so cow yeah,
so contexts. Are you going towatch it like all the way through or
are you gonna like the context here? Because originally was supposed to be four
(01:26:11):
sections an hour a piece, andthen Zack Snyder came in recently and said,
Nope, it's not the way itwas intended. It's a movie.
If you stop when you want to, continue when you want to. I
mean, I'm going to watch itall the way through. I'm gonna watch
it all the way through. That'sthat's how I am with all cinema.
No matter how long the movie is, I tend to watch it all the
way through because I want to getthe whole experience as is I'm right there
(01:26:33):
with you. What about you,Alessa? Well, since I'll be watching
it with Jimmy, I'll be watchingit all the way through. No,
I would do the same thing, though. I always find people who are
capable of watching movies like on twoseparate days honestly baffle me. I'm just
like, No, I have to. It's meant to be a whole thing,
watch the whole thing. I canonly do that. Yeah, I
(01:26:55):
can only do that with a moviethat I that I've seen, like multiple
multiple times, and even then I'mlike, I kind of want to stay
up to finish watching it, eventhough I'm like falling asleep doing it.
But for movies that I've never seenbefore. No, absolutely, like I
will be watching this through all theway entirely. Yeah. Absolutely, yes,
I'm off. I'm actually yeah,I'm watch stop it. I'm glad.
(01:27:18):
Why do you keep throwing me underthe bus. I'm going to be
available to watch the whole thing. So, yes, I will be watching
the whole thing perfect Well. No, because the reason I ask you,
is because you had doubts. Youhad multiple doubts like if working, how
am I going to make this work? It is four hours? Like I
don't know if I can do anythingfor four hours straight. I can find
(01:27:40):
multiple things to do for four hours, like one same. I mean,
I was streaming for five like SEEZthree hours ago. That's that's a bit
much. I don't know if Isay I frequently stream for like six plus
hours exactly, I can't, guys, focus, I can't often focus for
that long, like I tend tolose focus things, which is why I
don't play games are very long. But movies are kind of different for me
(01:28:03):
because I don't know something about moviesjust draw me in a little harder than
most things. That's fair. Withmovies. They typically are like what two
hours night like in average movies aroundtwo hours, maybe an hour and a
half if it's a kids movie,or even less actually now that I'm thinking
about it. But for the moviesthat are three hours, like Lord of
(01:28:26):
the Rings, Return of the King, like Avengers, Endgame, like these
movies, if I'm vested in it, and then yeah, Titanic is another
one. Malcolm X is another onethat was a three hour movie, and
it's like, yeah, if I'mvested in it, then I'll sit there.
But if I'm going to a theater, like I have to like mentally
plant like because I don't want totake a break in the middle of the
(01:28:47):
movie. I remember Endgame. Iwas very clear, like I was going
to take an app and I wasgoing to use the bathroom right before I
went in, because I knew thatI wasn't going to like everyone was like
planning this out. I remember thisvery clearly. When Endgame came out and
they were like, do you wantto drink? I was like, please
get out of my face with that, please, Like I just don't know.
(01:29:10):
I just don't entice me with popcorn. I've already ate. I planned
out my day around this one movieso I can sit uninterrupted with my eyeballs
glue to the screen. So luckily, March eighteenth, I will be in
the comfort of my own home.So if it comes a time then I
have to excuse myself. I canjust pause it, pause that bad boy,
(01:29:33):
leave, come back and just continue. I can have a meal.
I could go for a stretch, you a little walk, and come back
and continue going. So I'm lookingforward to it. That's what I'm trying
to say. Do you think thatI hate this movie? No, I
never said that. I'm just saying, like, you know, like you
(01:29:54):
look like you're upset. I'm like, I'm not upset. I'm looking forward
to this movie. It's just likeeveryone else. I just listen. I
just thought you looked disinterested in thecurrent conversation anyway. I like Mario Brothers,
(01:30:16):
Jimmy, please speak. Okay.So one thing that is kind of
tragic about this is that I don'tget to experience this in theaters, because
this does seem like the kind ofmovie that would be very cool on the
big screen. Because even though Batmanv. Superman was a chop job when
it came to theaters, there weresome moments, especially the big action set
pieces, where I was just onceagain super hyped when like there were like
(01:30:41):
hardcore battles going down. So I'mgoing to kind of miss that. Luckily,
I have some decently large speakers onour TV out in the front room,
so we'll just turn it up closethe blinds, light some candles.
Hell, yeah, so romantic. So here's my question to you. Do
you think that you all could sitin a movie theater for four plus hours
(01:31:05):
credits included for four hours. Yeah, so fun. Fact, the Metropolitan
Opera does live streams of their operasand I have been to one that was
six hours long. So I have, in fact that in a movie theater
for six hours. Oh god.So actually it was kind of amazing because
(01:31:28):
that was back in the day whenthey were like still really hardcore. Bet
like you can't take water bottles intothe movie theater and I literally yelled at
the person when I was walking inbecause they tried to not let me take
it in. And I was like, I'm going to see a six hour
movie. You will let me takemy water, and they were like,
yes, you can take your water, so when it comes, when it
(01:31:51):
comes to me. Um. There'sthere's several situations where I've definitely sat down
in a movie theater for longer thanthree to four hours. I saw the
Roadshow extended version of Hateful Eight, and that was fun. That did have
an intermission in it, but wekind of still sat in the theater while
the intermission was going on, SoI think including intermission that ended up being
(01:32:15):
close to four hours. And thenat a theater that I will not disclose.
Several years ago, but a numberthat I won't disclose. My friend
and I, who I will notname, stayed in a movie theater for
several movies in a row because noone cared. So we might have watched
(01:32:36):
several movies back to back without payingfor it. And to be fair,
we might not have paid for theoriginal ticket either, because hey, the
one was there, so we werelike why not. But I can won't
say when and I won't say where, but I definitely have sat in a
theater for long enough. Wow,I think that is the most Florida thing
(01:32:58):
I've ever heard. That's I thinknow too well that that's because then you
just told us the reason why theatersfor seven hours at a time. It
was in the process of like,uh, oh god, what was it?
(01:33:21):
So it was in the process ofalready failing because they had like that
off a whole bunch of staff. My friend and I had gone to see
Epic Movie, and that was likethe initial movie we went to go see,
and when like the person who wassupposed to be at the ticket counter
was way in the back of thekitchen, the concessions were just like,
well, let's just go in.Why wait, so we went and like
what was playing after traffic movie?I can't remember, but like played like
(01:33:43):
a few movies after it that justweren't None of them were in the same
genre, and we're just like, why not? Oh man, what was
the last What was the last moviethat you saw in theaters? For the
Rona? So before Rona was Iguess Sonic the Hedgehog. Okay, I
(01:34:06):
must have seen something else, butI think the last movie we saw was
Cats. I remember that it wasfun at least the bad taste in your
mouth, doesn't it. Oh,we had a great time. That was
a lot of fun. I enjoyedmy son. Oh my god, we
(01:34:30):
have to do it. We haveto do it. We have to we
have to do it. No,okay, I will listen to two hundred.
Look, look, look, wehave to do it. Oh that's
not two hundred, that's at leastone fifty. Listen. I'll speak for
Jason, okay, because I knowhim and I know that he will not
(01:34:55):
want to watch this movie. However, I will force him to watch it.
So just tell me a day andwe'll all watch it. It's cool,
cool, So like next week itis, let me tell you it
is a travesty of a movie. But as someone who genuinely loves the musical,
it is quite an experience to like, I like, hate it aggressively
(01:35:18):
and love it all at the sametime. As someone that also loves the
musical, I have to agree.Yeah, like I will just sing the
whole score and be like, Yo, this singer sucks. I'm better.
I'm singing it now. So Iactually would love, love, love to
make a suggestion right now, andI'm very sure that everyone here is going
to be very much for it.I vote that we watch Rocky Horror Picture
(01:35:44):
Show. Hell yeah, I've actuallynever seen it, so I'm now that
is a bad movie that I'm interestedin singing. Yes, that is the
one that we need to plan.Wowe but still great. Yeah, it's
yeah. We got two movies onthe list now, No, we have
(01:36:09):
one, and then no too,and then when episode two hundred comes out,
we'll have our stop it, stopit with that two arms, stop
it. You're not allowed to makedecisions anymore. I'm planting. I'm planting
the seeds now. So when yousaid the same thing about Mario Brothers,
yet here we are, I didnot say that I should have said it
(01:36:31):
then, should would have? Ithink I just remembered the theaters. Oh
my god, can't remember. Ifeel like I may have seen something after
Cats, but Cats is the lastthing I remember seeing. The last one
I saw in theaters was definitely HarryPotter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Wait,
(01:36:53):
I'm sorry, what all right? So so so many questions right now.
There's a fancy movie theater down inNaples called silver Spot. It's a
hell of a theater. And atthat theater they were playing the Harry Potter
movies like once a month, soeach month, and my fiance and I
(01:37:13):
decided that we wanted to see those, and because we're huge Harry Potter fans,
of course, current controversy notwithstanding. And the last movie I saw it
was Prisoner of Azkaban because that wouldhave come out in February. That would
have been the February movie. Andthat was the last movie I saw before
everything, Just like, yeah, right, I went to go see Onward
(01:37:39):
and I went and signed the AMCin my neighborhood at the time, and
there wasn't a soul in there exceptfor me. Nothing. Yeah, I'm
looking at the movies that got releasedin January and February. I'm like,
no, I straight up thin katswas the last thing I heard. That
would have been what is number?I heard they cgid ath holes out of
(01:38:02):
that film. I know, Iwant the butthole. Release the butthole cuts,
reveal your rectum hashtag release the buttholethat Harry Potter spell removing. Oh
(01:38:25):
God is horrible. And then theyall became owls. Oh got e buy
the cats facts. Do owls eatcats? No? But they don't have
her No, they don't have bums. They have don't they have? They
(01:38:47):
spit out right now? Yeah,I know this is fresh sky contexts where
you learn some new things and I'mstill learning. Yep, I did not
know. You're welcome. I'm I'mnot a smart persona. It's just a
little bit of Wikipedia on the weekends. Wikipedia. Yeah, that's what I
(01:39:10):
said, Wikipedia on the weekends. That should be a new skid Wikipedia weekends.
Yeah. Yeah. So the owlcloaca is at the end of its
digestive track, and it's the holdingarea for waste and products from the digestive
and urinary systems. It's also wherethey pass eggs. There you go,
(01:39:30):
but they spit out learning so muchabout the owl anatomy right now, do
you know do you know who elsehas a cloaca? Knuckles because he's in
a kid? Now? Oh,I hope they don't include that fact in
the next movie. They might knowher other fun fact about a kid?
(01:39:51):
Do you forget everything? You know? Listeners? Oh, don't start,
don't start that, don't start. So that that means that means Knuckles hasn't
has a cloaca, and that meansthat's where he probably stores the chaos emeralds.
I was a lovely laugh. I'msorry. The entire Sonic series is
(01:40:13):
ruined for me now, Oh,I have a or it's been made better.
I'm not sure. Yeah, it'sit's definitely been proved for me.
It's been I'm sure. I'll thinkon this. Oh meal, my course.
