Here. I WoT you hit recordand then immediately get up and leave because
I was kind of rude. Seewhat I want now? I literally have
fifty five seconds of audio. You'vehad much, much, much longer.
Don't eat no, no, no, but I mean just literally nothing.
It's me closing things. M that'snot once again, literally nothing, just
(00:26):
recording for proposterity. Posterity. Yes, it's posterity me anyway, I hear
it. Smart people say sometimes Iwas. I was trying to do a
riff joke off of Uncharted. Ifyou didn't catch that, I I caught
it now that you told me.Yeah, I remember when when Selly's like
(00:49):
enough with all the frimolity, andhe's like, hell is folity? Oh
I want more Charted games. Sothis little man is dude, I quivered.
That was the first time in thegame. I was just like,
oh, he's a little intimidating,right, Yeah. I haven't got a
(01:11):
villain quite like him since Nope,we haven't bizarre bitch y than mine ever.
(01:38):
Crazy. Welcome to Joshoe Freshki context. It is here we discussed insightful
of views on a routine biweekly basisof the incredibly nerdy things we can't stop
talking about, to take you onthis dorky ride, or your host,
Josh, it's like we never leftand myself, Jason, why don't you
take a seat, so back, relax, We're here to do all the
heavy lifting. It is about toget nerdy. This is episode ninety six,
(02:00):
Heart dear, don't do that. It's not how you say it,
not in the slightest Hey, Siri, how do you say two in French?
In French? Two? See that'swhat I said. I know that.
Look, it's movie time. Butwait, we haven't even breaked yet.
(02:20):
Is that a word? Not inthe way that you're using it?
No? Are you sure? Yes? No, don't don't don't don't don't
say it? What are you doing? We do a thing here right after
you see podcasts called the Cubby asto be consistent and organized. Following the
(02:45):
overall reception but action, acting, music saving, methography, conclusion, and
stingers. The day's movie review isBill and Ted Faced the music You Don't
look Annoyed. Bill and Ted's thirdouting brings back the original duo of Alex
(03:06):
Winter as Bill s Preston Esquire andKeanu Reeves as Ted. Theater logan and
together they are wow stallions sessialists.Oh no, don't don't stop for me
at all. Please, we're supposedto do the thing. I never agreed
to that at all at all.Yeah, so face the music not only
(03:30):
brings back the duo, but alsoseveral other characters as well, which we
will get into. So the receptionof this was pretty great, I would
say, I think so. It'spretty unexpected. Honestly, it's been twenty
nine years since last movie came out, so there's a whole new generation people
that have been born and lived theirown lives. And wow, I feel
(03:53):
extremely weird and old. Yeah.Sorry, man, it doesn't stop at
all. So, needless to say, Josh and I saw this movie.
I've been waiting for this movie.I grew up with this movie. I
remember renting it. I don't thinkthis was something I was allowed to see
in theaters, but my parents werecool enough to actually rent it. And
(04:15):
I do remember sitting and watching it, and it must have left in an
impression on me because I remember it. I watched it recently and I there
were some parts that were missing andI don't necessarily know if we're going to
go into that now, but thestory is very fresh in my head simply
(04:36):
because I was able to revisit it, and you know, needless to say,
when the trailer came out, Iwas shocked. I didn't think they
were actually going to do it.It seemed like one of those movies where
they were only going to do justlike the two for example, Gremlin's one
and two. I love those movies, and I was very much hoping for
(04:58):
a third one. I don't knowat this point in twenty twenty, were
ever going to get a Grimlin's three. I don't know if it would ever
be the same. I don't knowif they can get the same people to
even do it. Yeah, Ithink I would be down for that.
I would be down. I knowthere's got to be somebody else's really into
Grimlins as well. Let us knowyour thoughts. I mean, it's one
(05:18):
of those nostalgiar movies that probably Joshand I should probably do for a camera
review. But we're not here totalk about Gremlins. No, Just like
you like I so, I wasintroduced to Bill and Ted by I want
you to save my brother. Umlike most things of my life growing up.
Um same here, Josh, samehere remember exactly where it was I
(05:43):
first saw it. Um, hewas the type to literally I think I've
mentioned this before. He is thetype to literally record everything on VHS back
of the day. So like that'show I mostly remember watching Like a Terminator
two And like the Superman movies,I didn't watch like the vhs is no,
no, no, I watched themfreaking being recorded off tant right,
So I see it takes me back. So like he had a bunch of
(06:09):
these movies, and I want tosay that Bill and Ted was one of
them, specifically focused Journey, whichis why I think in my mind I
like Bonus Journey more than Excellent Adventure, even though I know Excellent Adventure is
a better written and possibly a bettershot film right than the second one.
(06:32):
But I just really enjoy the secondone so much because that was the one
that introduced me to the series.Yeah, I've heard this before, where
people watch like the second movie ina series and regardless of how like I
want, I want to say terrible, but regardless of the quality of the
film, that is what people havecome to appreciate. Like for me,
(06:56):
I watched Trassic Park in theaters andI was like, this is the best
movie movie ever created. And like, years later, I'll sing praises to
the original dress of Park movie forwhat it was able to do and the
story and like nostalgia and you watchednow and is still good. But there's
somebody there. They were like, yeah, Drastic Park's okay, but Drastic
Park two is where it's at.And I'm like, how do you even
(07:18):
come off saying that? Like dopeople like that exist? Yes? They
do. And I realized the reasonwhy that happens is because if they didn't
get to see the first one,or they saw the second one and they
owned it, and that's what theywatched as a kid, over and over
and over again. That's what they'vebecome, you know, familiar with.
That's what they know. And I'mlike, that's interesting, that's so interesting.
(07:42):
And I guess that can happen fora lot of different things. For
example, Sonic one Sonic Too.There's some people who love Sonic one because
that's the game that they grew upwith, and Sonic Too is just like
it's cool, but not the sameand to me, and I'm like,
there's no contest. Sonic two winsevery way possible. Yeah. I also
(08:03):
played Sonic two before I played theoriginal, So Sonic two in my mind
is like the default, right, which is why, which is why I
always get frustrated when I can't spinin the original right right. And you
know, we go back to moregames, which I'm sure we'll be talking
about soon, but I keep thinkingof Uncharted. Like the first game that
I played was in Charted two,and then I had the audacity to go
(08:26):
back and try and Charted and Iwas like, what is going on?
Right? Oh? Bringing it backto Bill and Dead one and two,
Like of course, and I'm sureyou know we'll revisit it. I don't
know when we're going to revisit it, but I promised that we will.
Um. But yeah, the tome, those two movies are essentially the
(08:48):
same to me, because I lovethe first one, I love the second
one. I know everything that happensin the first one stands a few scenes,
and you know, I know, for the most part, everything that
happens in the second one a littlebit more scenes that are there. But
again we'll come back to that later. But yeah, to needless to say,
the reception for this, for me, I can't really speak for it.
(09:09):
Everybody else because this is a weirdmovie. It's come out several years
after the facts, and I mean, I mean, I feel like the
reception of the movie is like ifyou were a fan of those original two
films, your reception the reception ofthis was like the hype was insane for
people who were waiting for it,of course, and the thing was is
like, you know, they leadingup to this movie finally coming out,
(09:33):
We've been hearing for years that, like Keanu and Alex were like, Oh,
we're just looking for the right story. Hopefully something comes along we can
get it running. And then theyfinally got that story. And then it
was like, oh, but nowwe need to find funding for somebody to
help us shoot it. Blah blahblah. And like this film fought like
it fought to be made, andit was fought by people who were passionate
(09:54):
about it, which is why Ifeel like, you know we'll talk about
in a minute, is like theend product is like so so endearing,
right, Yeah, I feel likethe reception was through the roof for most,
for most fans of this of thismovie a great a great and you
know, not only the cast butalso the crew of the original creators of
(10:18):
the film were able to come backand you know, put a significant portion
of themselves back into this film.So it feels really authentic. And you
know, obviously as we go throughour different sections, it's it's it's going
to be discussed entirely. So,uh, where shall we go from here?
(10:41):
So we can just go to theplot. Yeah, so would you
like to read the plot? Sure? I would like to tell you the
plot, and I will, youknow, read it to you now,
jaskay, stop pressuring me doing that. I didn't spend ten minutes looking for
this and edit out something just soI could read this. Okay, thank
you. Gosh, the Ruler ofthe Future tells best friends Bill and Ted
(11:11):
they must compose a new song tosave life as we know it, but
instead of writing it, they decideto travel through time and steal it from
their older selves. Meanwhile, theiryoung daughters devise their own musical scheme to
help their fathers bring harmony to theuniverse. Yeah, I did like three
(11:35):
different voices there they did. Idon't even know what you have a lot
of voices in you. One voiceper line is what I what I did.
Okay, I'm liking it, likeit. So that's the plot and
for the most part, I mean, there are some other subplots that that
that do happen and necessary. Doyou call them subplots? I'm sorry,
(12:00):
that is definitely the weakest part.Do you call those? I don't know,
Maybe I can. I feel likeI should. What would you call
it? Their categorized as one,but there was very incomplete and unnecessary.
I'm sorry. If they would haveplushed it out a little bit more,
I feel like it would have beenbetter. Yeah, But when it comes
to movies like Bill and Ted,I don't want to need it what they
(12:24):
didn't need it. No, Ithought that it didn't need it. It's
just I expect certain things from certainmovies. So if there's like a loose
plat thread from let's say, aChristopher Nolan movie, I'm gonna say,
like, I'm calling you out, dude, Like there's there's like, for
all that you've done in this film, there should be Do you mean how
(12:48):
Bruce Wayne got into a city thatwas on lockdown? Yea, I will
absolutely call that out. Also, that really didn't bother me as much as
other people did. Didn't It's justfunny to me. Oh, I'm and
I love how people just harp onthis thing whole constantly. But you know,
when I'm talking about Bill and Tedone, two or three, there's
a lot of things that don't makesense, a lot of things, and
(13:11):
like I come to expect it.So you know with that, I mean,
you're not watching Shakespeare. But theyquote it though him. Yes,
Oh I love those movies. Ireally do. I really do. So
I call it subplots because that's aconventional term that's used in film m but
(13:33):
I mean it made me feel good. I mean the story, so there
seem to be two stories that werehappening. There's Bill and Ted and their
daughters. Yes, so you know, I feel as though the story was
essentially say yes, sorry starrying tointerrupt you. But by the way,
(13:54):
if you haven't seen Bill and Tedyet, we will be doing more than
likely talking about the spoilers and spoilingthings for you. If you have not
seen it, that's your warning, yes, yes, saying in hece we
say something, go ahead, noproblem. So I felt like there were
two stories in him. Like Isaid before, this Bill and Ted and
then it's their daughters. When itcomes through their daughters, there's Kelly and
(14:18):
Thea played by christ No, I'msorry, not Kelly, Antha and Billy.
My goodness, I completely got thatname wrong, but that they're played
by a Summary Weaving and bridget limitingpain the I was, I suppose it
was more interested in their stories. And the reason why is because I know
what Bill and Ted are going todo. I know they're going to go
(14:41):
through time. I know that they'regoing to have this goal, and I
know that they're going to screw up, and I know they're going to try
and try and try and try again. I expected that, so I was
more interested in what, you know, their daughters were going to bring to
it. And I was very impressedby what they were doing and how they
(15:07):
were very much like their fathers andhow they were just integral part to this
whole thing. They wanted to helptheir fathers because they loved them so much.
So I suppose the repetitive story thatI saw with him Bill and Ted
didn't really I guess bother me somuch because they're older now and so they
(15:30):
can't approach things the way that theytypically do. But they can't help but
not be themselves. So you know, there was this moment in the very
beginning of the film where Ted wasin the garage and they were getting ready
to practice and he said, We'vebeen doing this a long time and I'm
tired. That hit me harder thanI thought it was going to be.
(15:54):
There was so much authenticity and itschoice. And I know we're talking about
acting, but as far as thestory is concerned, like I think,
I think time is just just crucialelement that has us all and I think
how we treat time, how wetreat each other, it is just super
(16:14):
important. So their motivations moving forwardto really fulfill their destinies, which is
something that they've been literally doing fortheir entire lives. It's it's truly impactful,
and it just again, it justreally caught me off guard. I
mean when when Keano said that inthe film, I just, like I
(16:37):
said, I just had to takea minute. I was like, Wow,
they're they're older now and they arenot approaching this with the same kid
gloves that they did before. Iappreciate that. I appreciated the start of
the film and their enthusiasm and whatwas driving them, and it was authentic
to say the least. Yeah, for sure, I agree. I mean
(17:02):
so I'll just come out and sayit, like, this isn't the most
complicated plot in the world, right, Like this movie is, well,
yes, like you said, thereare moments with sprinkled throughout this film that
have like that that impact of emotion, right that definitely being one of the
early ones, and then just seeingtheir journey and seeing their daughter's journey and
(17:26):
yeah, just having that knowledge ofit's been thirty years since the last movie.
You're here for a good time, right, And that's exactly what this
movie gave me. But along theway they also kind of, I don't
know, it's kind of like aan emotional roller coaster in terms of yeah,
(17:51):
being just like the just like thename of the of the subtext,
the subtext is right face the music, like you're also facing getting older,
You're also facing that, yeah,we're not young anymore, We're we're casting
it on to the next generation typething, right, and that that context
there, I think it's fantastic.Like, yeah, I think even though
(18:17):
this is quite a very simple plot, it's also very effective plot and a
plot that you know you can learnfrom. And whenever movies do that,
they you know, they entertain meand they're like all fun and camp be
but at the same time, like, no, I could definitely understand these
characters, where they're coming from, why they're doing this. Um, I
(18:37):
feel like that elevates it even further. And I was very surprised that this
one did that, because while theoriginals, sure they had little things here
and there, they can be theycan kind of pick out. I feel
like this one, you know, out of the three of them, has
that most impact for me. Ofcourse, that specific thing, yeah,
(18:57):
I agree, So yeah, andall things to be noted. I mean,
they have responsibilities now. Before theirmotivations was pretty standard. I mean,
they want to do well in school, so their lives as rock stars
aren't ruined. But now you know, they have wives that they need to
(19:18):
watch out for, they have theirdaughters that they need to care for.
They have the world literally hanging inthe balance, so you know, it's
not just just a high school report. And man, I kind of wish
we had the time to talk about, you know, the original, But
you know, I believe the plotwas real enough and grounding enough in order
(19:41):
to make a silly story I guessconsumable, and I appreciate that it was
just the right level of a funand it was the right level of real
as well for sure. So Ilove it and I'm so I'm glad that
they were able to make it inthis way. And as far as you
(20:04):
know, I know, we savedthis for the end typically well I saved
this for the end for me,but based on the plot alone, I
can imagine myself rewatching this multiple times. Oh yeah, for sure, absolutely
absolutely. So let's talk about wasthere really action? There were some action
(20:26):
sequences and not really so much youknow, physical fighting, but actually I
would say action sequences is what actioncauses the next thing to happen. So
there were several of note when Ted'sdad is called to Dave Carl's house,
(20:52):
not something that I was expecting, but I was like, hey, I
know that. I really enjoyed that. So that whole action sequence when the
robot was set from the future tokill and destroy and ended up killing it
ted dad, I was like,Okay, I'm liking where this is going
because Ted's dad has always been thisvery disjointed figure from Ted. So as
(21:14):
soon as that happened, there wasn'ta moment where I thought like, oh
no, he died. I wasjust saying like, Okay, we're finally
moving this character to finally see thathis son wasn't lying and that he wasn't
just a waste, that all thethings that he had been saying all the
while was true. So I washappy to see that, and that action
(21:37):
really was able to convey that forsure. Yeah, the second I said
the action, I was like,I immediately thought of that entire sequence.
Also, excuse you. The robothas a name. His name is Dennis
Gosh Dennis Caleb McCoy. All right, you're right, don't you forget I
(22:00):
did. I don't, And youknow, it's it's it's funny. It's
hilarious by the way he is.And he's played by Anthony Kerrigan. And
I like him because he's in Barriewith Bill Hayter, and he's a fantastic
actor, and I know I've seenhim out of the things, but that's
the one that I know him mostrecently. It's a it's such a funny
(22:22):
show. And I'm looking to completethe rest of the series because as everybody
knows, I always watched things verysuper late, for sure. But as
as the Robot or Dennis, Dennisthe Robot, he's he's great. I
mean I thought, I mean Ireally thought that they were going to bring
this level of like seriousness to it. But when he realized he screwed up
(22:47):
and he wanted to finish himself off, I was like, this is perfect
for this film. I love it. And the fact that him and Kelly
they dated or they seem like Detiswas very much like somebody Kelly dated that
just again, that brought that sillinessthere over Tire. I mean, Christian
(23:08):
Shall is just great in everything thatshe does for sure. So yeah,
it's great. It's really really great, but really great. There are a
few other action sequences, but theaction sequences are going to be any time
that they move through, you know, different time periods. I think in
any time traveling movie. Yeah,it's not like big set pieces or which
(23:30):
which is fine. I mean, like not every movie needs to have an
Avenger's level threat right now, Solike, yeah, like you said,
even even the small little things likethem in the prison when they're when they're
seeing their future selves in prison andlike you know they're about to get into
like this brawl fight in a inin there, like that's technically an action
(23:51):
sequence almost. Yeah. Yeah, and then I'm trying to remember there was
there was one more kind of sequenceis type of thing, well, I
guess spoilers, I guess when youknow they're confronting Dennists to kill them in
everything, right, and kind ofyou can kind of say that, of
course, action isn't like you said, actually isn't used in traditional sense.
(24:12):
And in this film, um,it's just like you said, to move
forward the rock just so something somethinghappens. Cool. Now they're going on
to the next set of events, right, And you know, it's always
interesting to see just time traveling justin general, to see how filmmakers or
writers envision how time, how onetravels through time. So, you know,
(24:37):
very popular when we talk about youknow, back to the future.
You jump in a car, yougo eighty eight miles an hour, you're
surrounded by light, you leave atrail of fire, and you instantly arrive
in another time frame. You know, in Bill and Ted, they travel
with your time, but they haveto go inside of a telephone box,
which is super outdated at this point. But you they zip through time through
(25:00):
these channels of these threads of time, and you know they land in these
places. But I'm also really likingthe moments when they realize that their backs
are against the wall and they saythat they're going to go into times so
they can set up themselves for thefuture. It is something that's been a
(25:21):
stable in the first two movies, and they do it again in this film.
I just love I love it whenthey do that. It's great.
It's so simple. It shouldn't makesense what it does. What it does,
it really really does how time travelworks. However, I feel like
they're not smart enough to know that, and so that's why it works.
(25:42):
I love it. I mean it'sso good, you know. I just
I love time traveling movies. Ijust love it. And it doesn't always
need to make sense in order forit to work. It just it has
to be entertaining and you know, needless to say based music absolute littally does
that in space and you know, again, looking forward to watching this again.
(26:04):
I love the movie. I absolutelylove the movie. Yeah, no,
absolutely, it's it's so much it'sjust so much fun. And the
reason it's so much fun is becauseof the acting. Jason, Yes,
just like the other two films. My goodness, the breathtaking Keanu Reeves.
(26:25):
Yeah, he's the amazing. AlexWinter. Yeah, they really earnest.
They still placed in my heart. They still got it, they still do
at it. They still got it. But I was surprised about though,
are Smarrow Weaving and Bridget Lundy painLike they've had to have studied those first
(26:45):
two films like in an Hour, because they nail their fathers well, you
know, film fathers whatever, Likethey nail Keanu and Alex Winter in this
movie, like they're like beat forbeat the daughters, right, and it's
fantastic. Right. I didn't thinkI was gonna like them that much,
(27:06):
and then you know, they Istarted seeing them more in the film,
Like, Okay, now these twogirls are great. They're right fantastic and
they're smart in the film, whichis like how they process information. It's
they're not as seemingly dimwitted. Andwhen I say dim witted, that's not
a slight to their characters because that'swhat makes Bill and Ted so charming.
(27:27):
Yeah, but they and Billy inthe film, they are smart. They
they more than likely got that fromthe princesses, right, I mean they're
yeah. I mean so I dida little bit of research on the princesses.
They changed every single film, allthree movies. So I was like,
(27:48):
which I feel like the first timeobviously the first movie that was fine,
whatever, the second movie, Ifeel like they needed to because they
couldn't get the others right, andI feel like they had a chance to
get them back, but they werejust like, let's just keep with the
joke, like the inside joke.I really hope that's how I went down.
I hope. I mean, Idon't know how much about it hilarious.
(28:10):
I agree, I absolutely agree. So then they kept another joke going
to which one was that with missyOh. Yes, we will talk about
that in a second, but Ido want to finish talking about the ability
again their their acting abilities to beabsolutely commended in this because I mean,
(28:32):
what they brought to the film wasI suppose what I was looking for in
the film because I don't want tokeep seeing the same thing. Of course
I do want to see the samething, but I want to see what
else are you bringing. It's justlike the Disney remix that they do.
You know, clearly, I'm watchingthis film because you made this, you
(28:52):
know, in the nineties or inyou know, whenever the original film was,
so I know you're going to dothat, but what else are you
going to do? So whatever changesthat they make, it's going to be
welcome. So in a film likethis, you know, I feel like
they were the shining star. Soof course you can't take away from Kaneries
and Alex Winter. But you know, like I said before, they are
(29:15):
older and they're very much acting asthough they have something far more important.
I mean, they kind of fumbledin the first two movies. You know,
they died in the second movie, and they kind of just fell upon
whatever it is that they needed todo in the first one for their school
(29:37):
report, and things just kind ofpatched up together. But you know,
they very much care about their wives, and you know, there was never
a moment where I felt like,I don't really know if I believe these
guys. Yeah. So Kanaries isan amazing actor. Man, he's breadthtaking,
Yeah he is. And then there'sMissi National Treasure, and yes,
(30:03):
then there's Missi, who is stillplayed by Amy Stock. Amy Stock she
was in the original two as well. And for those who are unaware of
the first two films, which,by the way, why did you watch
this one? If you haven't watchedthe first two, but maybe it's the
first one that you're getting into it. Um, So there's a running joke.
In the first movie she was actuallyshe was actually married to Bill's father,
(30:33):
and then in the second movie shedivorced Phil's Bill's father and married Ted's
father yep. And now in thethird movie, she divorced Ted's father but
is now married to Ted's younger brother, Deacon. Deacon, yes, who
(30:56):
we saw as a child in theoriginal movie. Yeah, how about that.
And I'm just so glad that theykept that joke running, Like I
didn't even think about it when Iwatched them when I watched the initial trailer,
because they showed that shot of themat a wedding, and I'm just
like, oh, you know, they're just so broke now that they're playing
(31:18):
at weddings or whatever. Right, that was an amazing twist. Slash reveal
that it was a wedding for Deaconand Missy played by incredible It was played
by Beck Bennett, and I alwaysloved watching Beck Bennett because I think he's
hilarious on SNLU. I was expecting, you know, Deacon to come back,
(31:41):
but I I maybe was not notin that way. Yeah, yeah,
not in that way. I'm likeyeah, And then there's speech about
how used to be my step mombut now you're my like step sister and
whoa, just like it's so amazing, Like I'm loving every second of this.
(32:01):
Yeah, I'm very Yeah, I'mglad that Missy was back again.
I mean, this is clearly aproblem she's never really addressed exactly. Dude,
that's your mom, that's your mom. Remember why I asked her to
(32:22):
shut up chet so much? I'mso dumb. I'm so glad that that
the trilogy is finally here. Um. But one person I was not expecting
to see in this film why I'ma massive fan of is Kid Cutty.
Kid Cutty sends this film as kidCutty. I have been a fan of
(32:44):
Kid Cutty since his mixtape, soevery single, every single time he comes
out with something new, and I'mlike, gotta hear it, gotta hear
it, gotta hear it. Andhe put out a rock album and everyone
was just like, what is hedoing? And I'm like, what is
he not doing? Is real question? And I love I love his range,
and I love his fearlessness and justmoving into different genres and I love
(33:08):
how flexible he is, and Ilove all of the things that Kid Cutty
does. So the fact that hewas in this film was like validation for
me and I'm like, yes, you've done it. The fact that Kid
Cutty a rapper, a rocker whodoes like everything and makes it sound like
I saw him live and he's justphenomenal, absolutely phenomenal. Um. The
(33:31):
fact that he made it into Billand Ted great is great. And the
fact that he knows all of thescientific theory stuff is he was about to
share. That is my favorite part. That he was like the one explaining
all of this astrophysics and everything, and I'm like, kid Cutty, you
are fantastic. Yeah. Yeah,it was great. I mean that was
(33:53):
like the icing on the cake andit's it's great. It's great. Yeah,
it was really great to see himthere. Christian Shaw, I didn't
know what to expect from him,so just the fact that he was that
he was just that good and Iliked them that much in that role,
I was like, all right, you do you kid, right? And
then there's two other people we cannotnot mention. There's Christian Shall, who
(34:15):
plays Kelly takes over for George Collinsrole in the original films. They we
had thought that George Colin was goingto be mentioned by name, um,
just as you know in Memory ofand they did do that. It was
a very touching tribute. You actuallyyou actually see an image very much how
(34:37):
they have it in real life technologywhere they show an image and it kind
of looks like it's a hologram. And you see that when Bill and Ted,
you know, go to the future. So it was great and Christian,
it was very well done. ChristianShaw is the daughter. Kelly plays
a daughter of George Carlins characters ofRufus. That's right, and it worked.
(35:00):
I mean, I like I said, I like Kristin Sharalon with everything
that she does. Um. TheTrice Haara tops toy and Toy story is
like one of my favorites. Butshe does lots of I'm sorry, I
don't know how they get those linesto be so funny. It's just and
(35:21):
it's so memorable. But she wasalso Inna Cloudy with a Chance of Me
Balls too, Yes, she hasthem a lot. And she was also
in Gravity Falls, which I've seena couple of episodes. She plays Mabel
and you know, I'm funny. It's very funny. She's very, very
(35:43):
funny. So she's great, absolutelyfantastic that she's in there. But you
cannot forget William Sadler as Deaf theMan with No Tan. I think throwing
so many so I am very certainthe reason why I love of his journey
(36:07):
so much was because of Death.Oh yeah, absolutely, William Sadler as
Death. Well, what brilliance hebrought to that second movie. And as
much as I really wish he wasin this film a little bit more,
the fact that we only get himforward like that ending bit still makes it
(36:30):
worth its build up to it,and they're just like, I can't wait
to see Death, can't wait tosee that, And there he is and
he crushes it. It's it's likehe never even loved Yeah, no,
yeah, William Sadler is. He'sreally he's a great actor, first of
all, um, and then hisdeath is just the absolute best one of
(36:52):
my favorite lines. Um. Idon't know why because it's a very throwaway
line, but when they're in heavenin the second one talking to God and
you know, just like thanks God, and then they walk away and then
every all three of them walk awayand then they can't the shot is still
staying of where they were standing, and Death just walks back and he goes,
(37:15):
sorry, they melvint me every time, and I don't know why.
And then he points to them like, s not my fault. They melded
me. It's so good. Andthen he has like weird lines, like
a little like right after that scene, they're they're seeing station doing charades,
(37:36):
and out of nowhere he's like butchand sentenced the early years and you're just
like, what the hell why?I yeah, like I said, Death
in in the in the second movie, and how he appears in this one
as like this pivotal role was welcomed. I love the fact that Bill and
(37:59):
Ted Knee did their daughters in orderfor them to kind of bring them back,
to bring it back, to bringit back right, to bring the
band back. I love it wassuch a smart move. It would It
was really really smart because I thoughtthey were kind of fumble the way and
it's like, remember the good times. I was thinking that what was going
to happen to the fact that youknow, they were able to truly use
(38:21):
the daughters in such a meaningful way. Um, they weren't just throwaway supporting
characters. They were very much intrigralto the film, which was again one
of the reasons why I love thisfilm so much. So yeah, yeah,
for sure. Yeah, everyone likeall the old all the original actors
(38:43):
that returned, they all did anamazing job. And then you know the
newer casts they also blended in soso well. Um, but a big,
big theme of this music, excuseme, of this movie is the
music. Gave it away there Idid spoilers, sorry, but yeah,
no, the music. I meanthe music is center stage, right,
(39:06):
and not just the Wild Stalin's music, but like, you know, just
music as a concept, music asa as a universal thing, right,
and you know, as the youknow, as Bill and Ted they travel
through time in the future and tryto you know, steal their song from
themselves. Basically, you have thedaughters going back in time, just like
(39:29):
they did in the original movie andbringing together you know, composers and jazz
artists and Jimmy Hendricks. Like whenlike the second that I heard that guitar,
I was like, they're getting JimmyHendricks, aren't they know? It
got so excited and you know, getting all of these different different people together,
It's like it reminds you that musicis very it is universal, right,
(39:55):
Like I feel like if there's anythingthat people can a hundred percentum,
what's the word I'm looking for connectwith is music and laughter. And you
know, the music throughout this isfantastic in every way, just you know,
including the score of the film, but then including the music that they
(40:17):
produce and everything within it. It'sjust I feel is incredible. Yeah,
the appearance of you know, music, You know, the fact that you
have so many different types of musicalinstruments. It's not always just the drums,
it's not always the guitar, it'snot always a base. They you
know, they covered a lot ofground. They have the history of music
(40:40):
that's in there. So and youknow, the final song wasn't like cheesy.
I really liked the final song,so, you know, and again
we always try and talk about asmuch as you know in film music is
possible, the composed of it.You know, there's no standout moments,
(41:04):
but you know, the music isso entrenched within music that it's undeniable.
There wasn't any kind of point whereI said they probably should have added some
music in there. I am surethere's lots of you know, emotional parts
that were you know, engineered becauseof the music that was playing. Yeah.
Absolutely. By the way, um, we don't really talk about um
(41:28):
soundtracks that comes out with movies often, but I will say I did listen
to the Play official soundtrack and there'sactually a few songs in there that I'm
just like, all right, theseare really cool, So add them to
my to my music library. SoI check out the album if I were
you guys, if you were listening. Yeah, So let's talk about the
(41:51):
look of the film. So whatdid you think the look was. I'm
really glad that they updated the cinematographyfor this. If they had gone with
you know, the late eighties earlynineties feel, I think that would have
been a little bit too distracting. It's it was necessary also, would it
also would have clashed with the storythat they were telling exactly. I think
(42:15):
it was necessary. And you know, with that, they were able to
add into special effects for this film, which it goes in and hand them
with the cinematography. Like the lookand feel of the film, everything has
to kind of flow, and youknow, if something looked bad, it
was supposed to look bad. Andthen Bill and Ted there are things that
(42:37):
are in there that just look thatfantastic and that's okay. Yeah, absolutely
okay. But again it's not likeyou expect this to be like super high
budget anyway. So like perfect example, when they're in the future and they're
you know, kind of walking around, You're just like that, uh that
keying isn't isn't doing so well there? The same thing when they're in hell,
(43:00):
like not like when they're you know, looking out, when they're by
Death's house, I'm just like, again, keys not doing so good there.
But again that's okay because you're justlike, I'm not here for you
know, seeing these big budget greenscreens, but you know, I'm here
for the fun of it. Andlike you said, it's okay, I
will give it a pass because thisis still, at the end of the
(43:22):
day, a very entertaining pill. Are agree, So I think that leads
us with conclusions. Yeah, so, um, this movie is great.
Um, I will definitely watch itagain. I have watched it again.
Actually yeah, yeah, so Idon't. I don't feel like we need
(43:43):
a very long conclusion to say likeit was. It was everything I expected
and more. Yeah, this isdefinitely something you can watch by yourself.
You can watch it with a friend. You can watch it with a family
member. Uh, it's very heartwarming. It's very very heartwarming, and it's
(44:04):
just very fun. And I feellike, especially these days, fun is
a little hard to come by.So yeah, this was a very nice
welcome and a very nice like allright, yeah, like I'm chill and
I'm having fun and I'm laughing andhaving a good time. Yeah. Great,
let's you forget about everything for aboutan hour and a half. This
was the first film that I sawsince March. So new film, the
(44:30):
first new film that I've seen sinceYeah, because the last one I saw
was Onward. That was the lastfilm that I thought I knew exactly.
So I was very much appreciative withthis film, and so I got I
was a little emotional. I knowthat sounds weird, but I mean it's
true. I mean I haven't seena movie in like over six months.
(44:54):
I don't think I've gone that farin my life without ever seeing a movie.
So the fact that I got tosee something new, even though it
was from at home, it's fine. I got a little like this is
great. I finally get to seesomething or view something talk about it with
a friend. In something I enjoyeddoing and the fact that it was good
(45:14):
was even better, and the storywas emotional and heartwarming, and the dad
moments that they have, you know, it's just it's too much, man,
it's just really so much. Andso yeah, it's it's surprisingly a
lot, but at the same time, like you said, very hardwarming.
(45:35):
So that's our conclusions. And thisis usually where we talk about stingers like
pus credit scenes or cameos, andyeah, we kind of already mentioned the
George Carlin cameo, but there's actuallyan end credit scene there is, which
I did not think that there wouldbe. So when there at the end,
I was very pleasantly surprised that therewas one more thing. Uh.
(45:57):
And in during the course of thefilm, as they've been at their future
selves, they finally visit themselves asold men, like on practically their deathbed,
and what they decide to do isthey decide to rock out one more
time as these old men. Andas you remember at the end of the
(46:20):
second movie, they learned how toplay guitar finally, right, finally,
so they shred and I was like, this is amazing. It's just them
old men shredding on this guitar onthese guitars, and I laughed, but
then I also listened because I waslike, it's actually really dope. Like
(46:40):
the riff that the riffs that they'redoing right now, I really liked them,
and I kind of wished it wasa full song. Yeah, but
it was really really funny anyway.Yeah, I very much enjoyed it.
I was hoping in the back ofmy mind. I was like, man,
it'd be unfortunate. And they wentthrough three movies and they didn't actually
like show the characters musical abilities, because I mean, that's been the play
(47:07):
of the entire you know, series, that these two like they want to
start this awesome ben and unite theworld, and they don't know how to
play the instruments, so like theyshould be able to and they did and
it worked, It really did,it did. It did. So it's
pretty great. Thankful for this movie. Thankful for this movie. How many
(47:30):
Fresh Geeks do you give it?I give this four five. I agree
with you four out of five easily. Yeah. Um, do you think
that they should continue and make afourth or do you think they should just
leave it at this? Finally,I don't know. I feel like this
is a very good ending, andI'm usually like pretty selfish when it comes
(47:53):
to those things like no, Iwant to see more, like I saw
Incredibles instantly, like before the creditstarted rolling an incredible as one, I
said, I want to see anotherone right now? Yeah, you know,
second one. I want to seea third, and fourth and fifth
and sixth, you already know. When it comes to past and furious,
like, you can make thirty ofthose. Just give please the key,
(48:15):
please keep making. We got somenews that I'm like, let's go so,
But staying on topic, I thisis one of those films where I'm
like, I'd be good if theydidn't make anymore, I'd really be good.
I mean, if they do itwith the daughters, yeah, they
could, but I don't know ifthey need to. I don't know if
(48:38):
they ever like fulfill that need towant to like travel through time. You
know, I think they only didit only because of their fathers, but
other than that, they're very muchcontent with staying with their families. So
I don't believe the daughters really needto. That's fair. Yeah, I
(49:00):
don't know. I'm kind of inthat same boat where I'm like, yeah,
I don't think they need to makeanother one. If they make one,
sure, I'll probably go watch it. But like, this is a
nice this is a nice trilogy, and I kind of I do kind of
hope that they don't touch it,right, um, because this was a
very very nice way to end it, right all right, unless they do
the unless they do the dreaded reboot, which unfortunately it's always on the table.
(49:23):
Don't talk to me about the sayingthere is always two reboots. We're
done here. I did not Billintent three Bill and tent three. Face
to Music is a still a fantasticmovie. Go watch it. Please do
watch them. That's it, right, I think that's it. Cool.
(49:45):
H So before we get out ofhere, um, we got some Xbox
news. Uh. This actually kindof came out while we were recording this
almost. Uh so have you heardJason about what happened? No? So,
Windows Central is a website. Asyou can probably tell, they talk
(50:07):
a lot about Windows and Microsoft productsright based on the name, kind of
like mac rumors for Apple. Idon't know if you know that company.
Oh I love yeah, so prettymuch what happened wash Windows Central received a
tip or leaked rather the Xbox SeriesS, which is separate from the Series
(50:31):
X. I will tell you howin a moment here. But they leaked
the Xbox Series S design as wellas the prices for the Series S and
the Series X. So what theyleaked was the design of the Series S,
which is much much smaller than theSeries X. Have you seen it
(50:51):
by this? I have, Okay, So it's much it's much smaller,
and it's a digital only console,no dis drive. It looks like a
speaker for some reason, because Idon't know why. They have a very
big spot for the fan. It'svery strange to me. But you know,
you guys, you do you Microsoft, But it's digital only. And
(51:15):
Microsoft finally did confirm the next daybecause they were just like, we need
to get in front of this leagueand kind of do a little bit of
control. They did confirm that theleak from Windows Central that yes, the
Series S is coming out. Bothconcerts are coming out excuse me on November
tenth, Yes, November tenth totwenty twenty. The Xbox Series S for
(51:38):
two ninety nine, which is ridiculous, and the Xbox Series X four ninety
nine. So I know you're notreally an Xbox person, but we have
been talking a lot of Xbox theselast few podcasts, just because there's been
a lot of information coming from Microsoft. Well this one did initially come from
(51:58):
Microsoft, but then they finally confirmedit. Um, so what do you
think about all that? I thinkit's great. I don't know if that
Xbox Series S is. I justhate calling it that whole phrase because this
should be a better nomenclature for it. But in a series S or the
S the x S, No,I can't say that. No, I
(52:19):
can't say that. Somebody else's gonnad gonna just wipe that for ten.
We never said that. I'll comefrom my growth. Please. Anyways,
the Xbox Series S is definitely notsomething I feel like would be worthwhile for
me to get. However, I, like I said, if there's an
exclusive and it's like, oh man, I gotta have it, then yeah,
(52:40):
it would definitely be the Series S. Sure. Yeah, it's a
it's a very tiny, tiny, tiny council compared to the Series X.
It's about like what what did theysay, like half the size if not
like a third of the size halfthe size? Um, but did you
know it looks like a third?Actually? But did you know that it's
(53:01):
actually less powerful than the series asI am aware, And I don't know
if that really makes or breaks anythingbecause I don't care, like you know
what I mean, Like if you'retelling me, like there's a PS five
that's, you know, so muchmore powerful and there's one that's like a
(53:21):
cheaper version, like yeah, youknow, I just truly at the end
of the day, I just wantto be able to play, you know,
for game movies. Right. IfI can do that and that's going
to be on the one that's moreexpensive, then that's where I'm going to
go. You know. If theywere making something similar to that, you
(53:43):
know, like the series S versionPS five, then I guess maybe I
would do that if I just wanteddigital, you know what I mean.
So I don't really know that reallymakes that much of a difference because I
have to look at grand scheme ofthings, like, you know, if
I'm buying the system, how muchtime am I going to be spending on
(54:04):
it? Is it going to beworth my while? But if it is,
isn't great? If it's not,then no, right exactly. I
mean I personally think it's a coolthing, like you know, yes,
like if you want to get anext generation console. You have like this
all powerful, a mighty thing thatyou can get this huge box for four
ninety nine and it's next generation, right, But if you don't necessarily have
(54:28):
the funds for that, you canstill get you know, this generation as
well, maybe not as powerful, but still on kind of the same wavelength,
right, And I think that's reallycool of Microsoft to do be like,
hey, you know some especially duringthese times right where money may be
an issue for you, right. So I do think that it's really cool
(54:49):
that they kind of took that intoconsideration, or at least I hope they
took that into consideration when getting theprice for this model and allowing you to
still enter the next generation without goinglike full blast on it, which is
really cool. But the other thingthat Xbox is doing that I really really
enjoy is they're doing like this financingprogram kind of like you would for a
(55:10):
phone almost where you can start specificallyfor the series S, you can pay
twenty four ninety nine a month, and you get the console, you get
Game Pass Ultimate, and now GamePass Ultimate also comes with EA Play,
so that means you are getting awhole bunch of stuff in this package and
(55:37):
starting the next generation with all ofthese games right off the bat, and
if you wanted to get the morepowerful console, the Xbox Series X,
it's thirty five a month with XboxGame Pass Ultimate an e play, which
is to me incredible because if youcan't PLoP five hundred dollars is right off
(56:00):
the bat, but you can keepthis console for thirty five dollars a month
and it comes packaged with Game PassUltimate, Like that is a steal.
I'm sorry. That is really smartand really really cool. Like I almost
considered getting an Xbox because of that, because I was like, thirty five
(56:23):
bucks a month and I get anXbox Series X. But then I thought
about it. I was like, well, I got a PC, so
that doesn't really make sense for me. But if I didn't have a PC,
like, I almost jumped on ittotally. So they are playing a
really really smart game, and that'swhy I think they're playing a different game
(56:43):
to Sony, which you know,God knows when Sony is gonna we're gonna
tell us what their pricing is andwhatever, right, But that's why I
think that they're playing two different gameshere, right, No pretended Xbox is
really trying to get you into theirexperience, really trying to get you into
game pass and you know, theirservices essentially, and the box is just
(57:05):
there to you know, just facilitatethese services, right and that I mean,
that's gonna that's probably gonna work outfor them because, like, like
I said, all of this,if I didn't already own a PC which
can pretty much play most of thegames that are coming out on this thing,
I would have jumped. I feellike a lot of I feel like
a lot of businesses and a lotof I mean, I feel like we've
(57:27):
discussed this already, how everybody's goinginto a subscription model. Everyone's going to
a subscription model. I mean,I mean you see this with automobiles.
I mean most people just don't havethat money upfront, so I mean they
do leasing options, they do paymentplans um. Subscription models work very well
for newspapers, for iterations. Nowyou know, we have apps, we
(57:50):
have you know, services, wehave streaming. I mean all of these
things are based on subscription, whichyou can cancel at any single time.
The model works sin it's familiar,so you can cancel, and if you
cancel, the box is still there. You're still able to resume at any
time. I like services like Huluwhere you can say, don't want to
(58:12):
subscribe right now, let's just haveit resume in like six months, and
then when six months rolls around, you can do that again. I like
that because it just gives me moreflexibility. Some people don't do that.
I'm sure I know the reason why. What dost either here there? Right?
But hey, I mean this leadkind of turned around for Microsoft,
so I will say, good job, kudos to them, like the Hey,
(58:36):
they handled it like a champ.I sent you some of the memes
I think, and xbox is tweetxboxes tweet was hilarious their response to though
I love their tweets. It wasso good. The kudos to them.
They really turned it around. Andman, I'm hyped up to see what
Sony does in response, because likethat is huge. I feel like,
(58:59):
really, yeah, they just needto We're gonna hurry up already. We've
been how long have we've been waitingfor this? I mean it feels too
long, but I haven't been countingthe days, which is dangerous during pandemic
because two days can feel like sixty. Yeah, so who knows, you
(59:20):
know? I think that's it,right, Hey, guys, welcome back.
So something happened, Hi, Jasonhim probably wondering why why I kind
of dragged you here in the middleof the night. Yeah, I mean
you could probably figure out why.I mean, I know why, but
I want you to tell me whyso everyone else can know why. Yeah.
(59:44):
So here's the thing I was.I was gonna edit this guy and
had it already for Monday, youknow, because we're First of all,
we're a little late putting out parttwo. So I apologize about that,
but it worked. Second thing, the second thing, I didn't expect Sony
to drop a bombshell on us.So there's that. I feel like the
(01:00:07):
wording on that is very poor.Just wanted how is it poor Sony dropped
bombshell? Yeah, I'll tell youwhen you're older. Oh, I'll tell
you when you're older. But justdis continue. Guess I'm seven years old
(01:00:30):
right now. Just just just keepgoing. Just a little bit of fun
us at the top when I wastwelve, so I could I could help
out as well. You're saying aboutthe news. There's news. There's news,
Yes, there's news. Yeah.So Sony Tavo press conference, Uh,
(01:00:52):
we finally got it. Jase wefinally got it, got what we
wanted this entire your time for monthsnow, we got the price of the
PS five And not only did weget the price of the PS five chase,
Yes, we also had opportunities topreorder it. However that fell to
(01:01:14):
the wayside. Yeah, I thinkthey felt to the wayside for a lot
of people. All Right, solet's backtrack a little bit. So first
let's talk about the conference itself. So Sony had a conference. It was
a PS five showcase. They showeda bunch of different games, which,
by the way, Final Fantasy sixteenwas not expecting. No, that was
(01:01:36):
huge. No, they showed gameplayfor Miles Morales. I need this game
now. Yeah, the game lookedcrazy. Ja, I need this game
right now. I know you do, you've nut I'm with you. I
want to play this game too.I might finish it faster than I did
the original Spider Man. Do youunderstand this is the only game that I've
platinumed, like, I want thisgame too. By the way, that
(01:02:00):
is true, if you, ifanybody wants to check out Jason's PSN profiles,
that is the only game he isplatinum his first ever and the Old
Man probably the only one. Thankyou very much. I'm very proud of
you for doing that, no problem, just everything a spider could do.
So, Sony did announce a lotof games, and it wasn't just like
(01:02:23):
I don't know the fact that Ithink that they started with Final Fantasy sixteen
and then they lead did up toum, you know, Spider Man,
Miles Morales and what was a thirdgame that they announced, freaking Harry Potter?
Yeah right, what? Okay,So the fact that those are the
first three that they announced, youknow, it's going to be a good
(01:02:45):
day. No, it's gonna bea good day. So let's talk about
the console. I mean, veryquite simply. We know that there's two
consoles out now. We knew thatthere was a digital one. We know
that there was a disc one.We just didn't know how much exactly,
and now we know. So nowwe know the digital edition starts at three
ninety nine yep, and the discversion starts at four ninety nine, same
(01:03:07):
as the Series X, which Imean, to be honest, we kind
of call that a long time ago. I mean, yeah, it just
I feel like we did talk aboutthen, we said those exact numbers,
didn't we I don't know if Iknew about a digital version. I think
that was going to be a surprise, but I said whatever, well,
no after we after they announced it. There was gonna be after they announced
(01:03:28):
it. But I'm talking about likewhen they first announced like PS five,
I just without even seeing anything,I said, it's gonna be five hundred
bucks. I knew it, knewit. That's fair. Well, I
knew they weren't gonna do six hundredbecause again they did not want to go
through what they did with pstre Nono, no, no, no,
no no. I never expect sixhundred, So five hundred sounds about right,
which to me, I'm going toget the disc version me too,
(01:03:50):
Um, Like I've been saying itthe whole time, like I'm gonna get
disc version, gonna get disc version, and I will drop five hundred for
a discversion. I amy okay withthat. As much as I love the
design of the of the digital version, because it technically is a little bit
sleeker since it doesn't have that driveprotruding out from it, I just really
need that distrive to play my fourK Blue Race same same, which means
(01:04:14):
I'm going to have to probably buya few more movies again in four K.
But that's fine, that's fine. It's worth it. It's absolutely worth
it. And then, by theway, the kud graw to me,
at least that teaser at the veryend of the showcase teasing that got a
war Ragnarok. Yeah goodness, Yeah, so we don't have to pull out
(01:04:40):
my hearts, right of course.I mean again, if you're going to
start with Final Fantasy to sixteen, you know it's going to end like crazy.
But what we also learned is theI guess some more information on what
backwards compatibility really is going to looklike. They said that backwards compatibility is
going to be for a majority ofthe games. I still don't know really
what that means, but it's sufficeto say that if you have a majority
(01:05:05):
of games, most of them shouldwork. I would I would say,
obviously, all the first party gamesis a locket, like they're they're not
done. Any first party game islocked to function on PS four. Right.
When it comes to third party games, I would imagine like the most
popular ones will work perfectly fine.I would go as far to say that
(01:05:28):
pretty much every game that I ownmore than likely will work fine because I
generally go for like the mainstream titles, so him, we don't think I'm
gonna have a problem. Right. However, if you're talking about like you
know, indie games, niche gameslike that are to a specific set of
audiences, I feel like that's whereit'll kind of get a little murky.
(01:05:48):
But I also think they're just sayingthis to be like, look, we're
pretty confident they're all gonna work, but we're just going to be safe and
just say the majority will, right. I don't think this is got a
bit to me. Yeah, Idon't think it's gonna be a problem one.
I think maybe a handful of gamesit's probably not going to work at
first, and it's probably going tobe a few patches that will allow it
to go through. Yeah exactly,That's what I think. At the box,
(01:06:12):
it's gonna be a majority of games, and they think many people are
going to be happy with what theyfind. Yeah, exactly. But we
also got some other news from afterthe conference. They put it on their
PlayStation blog, so we do knowthat the launch day games that are coming
out so day and date. Withthe PS five, we have Astro's Playroom,
(01:06:34):
which comes pre installed on your PSfive. Right, we got Demon
Souls, which they also showed theshowcase looks beautiful. We got Destruction All
Stars, we got Marble Spider Man, Miles Morales, and Sack Boy A
Big Adventure. Now, Jason, did you also see how much these games
(01:06:54):
are going to be priced at?I'm imagining sixty unless I'm wrong. So
some of them are sixty but oneof but two of them are seventy which
one? So Demon Souls will beseventy dollars and Marvel's Spider Man the Ultimate
Edition is seventy dollars, So Iunderstand why i'ltimate edition is seventy bucks.
(01:07:16):
That makes perfect sense to me.They remade the game for to be on
five, and it's two games andone that's okay, I can play seventy
dollars for that. The Demon SoulsI'm not really too sure about. Yeah,
but pretty much what this is kindof dictating is for the future.
You know how nowadays game the testydollars a test test of the waters.
(01:07:38):
Yeah, but well they cost sixtydollars. But then, like you know,
the lower price games usually like aroundforty. I think sixty is the
new forty and seventies to the newsixty. Yeah, but to be honest
with you, I'm okay with usbecause fifty dollars sixty dollars has been that
way since console games back in theeighties, so you know, they're getting
(01:08:02):
a lot bigger budgets and stuff likethat. So I'm like, all right,
well, it kind of makes sense. It makes sense, so you're
not worried about it. I'm notworried about it at all either, So
I kind of figured that this wasgoing to happen. So it's, uh,
it's what evs um. So wegot that. We also have the
actual day that it's coming out. It's coming out of number twelve ye,
so two days after the Xbox console'srelease. They will be released the twelfth,
(01:08:28):
and then they're released in the twelfthin the US, Japan, Canada,
Mexico, Australia, New Zealand,South Korea November nineteenth for the rest
of the world. So really quickly, let me just talk about this pre
order fiasco. I mean, Ifeel like there's always going to be a
pre order fiasco. They also didn'treally announce what time that this was all
(01:08:48):
going to go lie, so everybodyjust kind of what I'm most disappointed.
Yeah, everyone just kind of didwhatever they felt like doing. So I'm
not too worried about it, tobe completely honest with you, because and
this is really I'm not gonna I'mnot gonna dwell on like this is screwed
up and I really wanted my preorder. I'm not gonna say that.
Um, I don't think this isgoing to reach the pandemonium that the Nintendo
(01:09:12):
we did back in like one twothousand and six. Yeah, but I
don't WEE was its own phenomenon thoughtrue, absolutely true, Like that's a
whole different beast, an entire timeframe. Is just weird to me that
that even happened. We should doa flashback episode on what that was like
and just do like real time interviews. Was like, where were you when
(01:09:32):
the Week came out? And Ijust remember going from store to store we
all did. Gosh, we alldid. And then it did the same
thing when Mario Kart came out.Yeah, well this is what happens.
This is what happens. But butyeah, I mean I didn't I didn't
get a pre order, did you? You didn't get one? Right?
(01:09:54):
I tried? Yeah, But Imean I went to bed, I mean,
I got things to do, sothey didn't say what time was going
to be said. I just saidI'm trying the morning and didn't work so
well. The thing was. Thething was that in the showcase they never
mentioned when pre orders were going up, and then later, like on the
blog, they were like, oh, yeah, no, it's gonna happen
tomorrow, but they didn't say when. And then at like twelve, Walmart
(01:10:17):
and Amazon and all had their pagesup, and then by the time I
woke up, they were all cantand nobody has them anymore. Yeah,
I'm sure more pre orders are goingto come out in the future. It
would be strange if they said like, yeah, no more pre orders until
then. But again, if itdoes come out, I'm still not worried
about it. Like I said, you know, if I'm not able to
(01:10:39):
get in the first week, thefirst month, I'm very certain I should
be able to get it by theend of the year. Oh yeah for
sure. So right now my planis what the on the twelfth is to
go to the best Buy and belike, you guys got any that aren't
reserved? Ye, hopefully they do. I think we should be fun.
(01:10:59):
Yeah, think we should be good. Uh yeah, so that's a that's
some big news, so big news. Now have prices for both consoles,
we have release dates for both consoles, and uh this is where it begins.
So where it begins. I'm lookingforward to it. This is gonna
be my first launch console. It'sgonna be so much fun. I can't
wait. Yep and no wait,Like I got so hyped during that entire
(01:11:21):
showcase. Um, by the way, can we really talk about Harry Potter
really really fast? Before? Yousure? It looks so much fun?
It does. I mean I don'tknow much about it, but I mean
I'm obviously interested, So bring itoff. Yeah yeah, yeah, like
like basically an RPG, but forHarry Potter. Let's go. And if
it's like multiplayer like we were talkingabout, like Batman and all that stuff,
(01:11:44):
imagine that you can give me Dad, we can walk Hogwarts together.
Please give me that p Please.Do you understand I have been I have
told you this multiple times before.Multiplayer or shooting games doesn't a thing for
me. I don't care. Butyou give me Batman, you give me
Avengers, you give me Harry Potter. If you give me the stuff that
(01:12:06):
I like if they would, Oh, could you imagine if they do an
Uncharted remake? Don't like, don'tno, don't they can? They absolutely
they can. All they have todo is just remake the same game.
You don't have to add anything new, just make the multiplayer stop it.
(01:12:28):
I'm not asking for a lot.I just want to play multiplayer co op
missions in the same games that Iwas doing before. Tobably possibly happen.
That's just not like the story now. I don't want that. I wanted
through the game. Yeah, itcan happen. I believe it. I
know because Uncharted isn't a multi coop game. It's a single player experience.
(01:12:54):
It can be, it can be. There's usually somebody who's following you
around. It's kind of shooting peoplein Yeah, in certain sequences you got
Sam in there and sometimes Elena, but like, there's multiple sections where you're
by yourself and would make absolutely nosense for Drake to have somebody with him.
Don't ruin it for me? Areyou putting it out there anyway?
(01:13:16):
I'm super excited. I need thisto happen. Yeah, so Oka it
is. I'm sorry for dragging youout in the middle of the night to
record this. It's okay. Doesthis may not have to save my life?
I mean, I agree, butdoes this also mean that I have
to resay the goodbye lines? Yeah? Because I was listening back to the
other one. You didn't really soundthat good, so disrespectful. Thanks sir.
(01:13:44):
Wow, you messed up. Inthirty seconds, I just realized that.
I just realized what you just saidto me. It sound that great.

a fense to that. I don'treally take offense to that. Thanks so
