you want me to touch on in the future episode,

and we will get to those questions, comments and concerns
in the future tonight. Lots of things to cover. It's
been a hot, minute easy month of November, and we're
gonna kick things off with a little bit of an update.
AEW has started the Continental Classic. It is already off
(03:07):
to some in my opinion, somewhat shocking results on some
very expected results. Let's go down through the list. First off,
Kyle Fletcher defeating Kazuchka Okada by pinfall in the opening
match on Thanksgiving Eves. Dynamite did not expect that, really did,
and I really thought they would protect Okata as the
defending Continental Classic winner, but apparently they want to get
(03:27):
that loss for him out of the way early and
helped build Kyle Fletcher, who I think will be the
front runner to challenge Okada for the point total in
that Gold League. Now, the other match in the Gold
League that night Kevin Knight defeating Darby Allen by pinfall,
and that also a complete shock to me. Look, don't
get me wrong, I'm not disrespecting Kevin Knight in any
way shape or for him. Fantastic wrestler, bright future ahead
(03:49):
of him. But Darby Allen. Wow, Like only six months
ago we were talking about how he really should have
been the guy to take the aw World Championship from
John Moxley, and then six months later we're looking at
him lose a match on television via pinfall to Kevin Knight.
I don't care about anything else, just the fact that
that's the end result and we have our first two
(04:10):
matches in the Classic going that way. In the Blue League,
John Moxley defeating Mascaria Dederata. I think that was kind
of a preordained thing. It was gonna happen. Maxley is
gonna be booked Strong, He's gonna be one of the
top point getters in the Blue League. In the other match,
Claudio Castignoli defeated Orange Cassidy. That one also somewhat surprising.
(04:32):
So when you think about this, Kyle Fletcher, Kevin Knike,
John Moxley, and Claudio all picking up three points on
the opening night of the tournament. Now heading into Collision,
Pack defeats Speedball Mike Bailey by technical submission. He gets
his first three points. So if you look at the
Death Riders going three for three in the opening matches,
all scoring three points. Blue League match, Kenoski Takashka defeated
(04:56):
Roderick Strong via pinfall. He picks up three points for
the Don Kallis family. There's a lot going on there.
And now what we I really am excited about is
this coming week's Dynamite where we're gonna see Castignoli and
Moxley are going to face off one on one both
members of the Death Riders and Okada versus Pack, which
I don't know that I've ever seen that before, but
(05:17):
that holds some serious promise for just stealing any show.
Kyle Fletcher versus Kevin Knight, the way they book Kevin
Knight in his opening match could be very exciting and
then we'll see where the tournament goes from there. But
as of right now, very interesting tournament so far, lots
of surprises. I don't think anybody expected Kevin Knight to be,
you know, getting his three points in his opening match
(05:39):
of the Gold League. I think the rest of them,
Kyle Fletcher, Pack Castiannoli, Moxley, Takeshka, none of those surprises me.
They get points. I'm a little surprised to see Okada
not pick up a win on his opening match. That
being said, Tony Knnan, who knows what he's got up
his sleeve. Hopefully this tournament is going to be as
amazing as the last two have been, and I expect
nothing less. Speaking of Tony Cohn recently signing Lacey Lane,
(06:01):
who was known as Kaden Carter and WWE. She had
an appearance on aw's television program and Fightful Select reported
that she has signed a full time contract with AW.
After her match with Mercedes Monette on title Tuesday. The
match saw her lose to Monette, but she gave a
really solid performance. After a seven year run with WWE,
(06:23):
and now that she's been released, looking for work is
no more as she is now going to be in
both aw and Ring of Honor, and it should be
very exciting to see what she can bring. And I
believe Tony Kahn really finds a way to maximize his
talent and get the most out of them. That should
be exciting for her and hopefully she will be able
to get into you know, maybe that TBS Championship picture
(06:44):
again sometime, maybe get a rematch with Monette at some
point in the future. Got to give an update on
Androde He doesn't do a lot of talking media appearances,
but on tv as Teca de Portes he was having
an interview speaking about a couple very poignant issues, one.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Being the.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Release from WWE. Was for using medicine and supplements that
are banned under WWE's wellness policy. But his argument was
that those certain medicines that are allowed in Mexico which
aren't in WWE, not necessarily being performance enhancing, but certainly
that they're available in Mexico and not ww does make
you wonder what exactly he was on. He didn't give
any clarification what they were. I think that might have
(07:23):
been helpful. You know, there are some people who you know,
standard over to countermedications can sometimes come up as a flag,
and I think it really depends what it was. The
other conversational piece was about WWE's twelve month no compete
clause that was in his contract. He did verify that
it is a twelve month non compete clause, it was
enforceable worldwide. He said he didn't know that it existed
(07:45):
when he signed the deal with WWE, but his representatives
and ww are negotiating and closing in on an agreement
which would allow him to get back in the ring.
He did state that his lawyers are negotiating with WW.
He's optimistic they can find a resolution. He doesn't want
to throughout the full year. And if you look at
the comments made by people like Eric Bischoff, David o'tuga,
(08:05):
and several others, this, you know, really thinking about whether
or not, if this went to court, whether w WE
could enforce a non compete like this. Most people think no.
But in this case, what I find very interesting is
one of the comments he makes early in the report
is about the fact that despite being having his contract
terminated by WE, he said that he it was an
(08:27):
amicable split. It wasn't. There was no ill will, no
bad feelings or things of that nature, which I can't believe.
I'm gonna say this leaves the door open, in my opinion,
to a return at some point to WWE, which at
the time the break of the news story that he
was gone, I didn't think was even possible. With the
way he's speaking here, maybe it is. Maybe the door
is not as slam shut as we thought it was. However,
(08:50):
the more poignant part is he is not willing to
pursue legal action against WWE, according to Dave Meltzer, which
could be him tipping his hat that he may actually
I have some aspirations to go back there sometime in
the future. We'll have to wait and see somebody who's
not returning there to v anytime soon is seth rollins.
He did offer an update on his current cons medical situation.
(09:12):
He was on Something's Burning at a talk show and
speaking about his innering return, he said, once he gets
this thing off, it's a quote from him we're referencing
the sling on his arm, he said, which is in
like another month. Then it might be like full vacation
mode for a little while before I lock in and
start training to get ready for a comeback. The former
World heavyweight champion talked about his recovery. He said it's
(09:33):
going to be a gradual recovery. He doesn't even really know.
He had a quote here says, my guess is about
eight to twelve weeks plus, we'll be moving right into
WrestleMania season. I'm hoping for like around February, after all
the holiday stuff, I can start to be like, Okay,
lock in no more bs. This would be in my opinion,
based on things he's done in the past, I think
he is under selling how long or over selling how
(09:55):
long it's going to be. I think he's gonna be
ready before twelve weeks. I think he may be a
Rumble returnee. If not, I don't think it's going to
take all the way to WrestleMania for him to get back.
I just don't There's always a way to insert him
into something, if you think about it. They didn't build
anything with Cody Roads. When Cody returned to the company
and went against seth Rollins at WrestleMania and it was
just fine. So I would not be surprised if he
(10:16):
is still able to be a part of WrestleMania, but
absolutely not in the way they originally wanted him to be,
which the war reports out there were that it was
going to be Heat and Roman for the World Heavyweight Championship.
That obviously is off the table now, at least in
the short term. I guess maybe progress on his injury
we determine if that comes back on the board, but
I highly doubt it at this point. I think we're
moving much closer towards CM Punk versus Roman reigns instead.
(10:40):
Dave Meltzer in the news talking about them to be
and their motivation for acquiring Triple A, and basically his
take on it is not necessarily for the Mexican market,
but to get Triple A television in the United States market,
where he claims is where you can make money. He says, quote,
hopefully we both make money and be on a platform
(11:02):
that people actually watch. Right now, it's on YouTube, which
is a platform people watch, but it's not really a
big money making platform. So that would obviously be a
major goal for Triple as to get it on US
television or a major streaming service like Peacock or something.
That's a quote from Dave Meltzer. I think it makes
a lot of sense, especially when they had that previous
relationship with Peacock and now they're going to be moving,
you know, pretty much essentially everything to different other platforms,
(11:22):
with the exception of Saturday Night's Main Event and NXT pls.
I think it would be a great avenue to put
Triple A on Peacock if they are able to cultivate
that brand and make it even bigger, and hopefully we'll
be able to see the Triple A exposure and the
Triple A brand get a lot more of attention and
really pick up on the momentum that was started way
(11:43):
back in the day when Triple A came out as
a rival promotion to CMLL. They've done a lot of
really cool things. I think it's also an opportunity for
WW to test out some of their talents that currently
are not featured on the main roster. Perhaps they're inn NXT,
maybe they're people in Developmental Evolve or something like that,
where they can go to Mexico get some more experience
firsthand with that audience, because let's be honest, the audience
(12:08):
down there can be very very hostile, so sho should
we say at times, And it'll be very interesting to
see sometimes how those different talents who've never had that
exposure react to those types of fan base and if
they handle it well that well, maybe that opens up
the door for them to come to the main roster sometime,
(12:28):
maybe sooner than later. Love what they did with Omas.
I think there's certain people in that company that don't
get as much love as they probably should, and some
the probably should have had a bee opportunity sooner than now,
Elma CS being one of them that I'm very much
in favor of, Doctor Widener Junior, people like that. It'll
be great to see them. I'm a huge fan of
Psycho Clown. So there's some of those Triple A people
I would love to see featured more regularly on WWETV
(12:51):
and WWE can obviously use that as another developmental method
for their upcoming stars. While we're recording, this SmackDown is
going on. It is wrapping up momentarily. Tonight was an
interesting night. We saw jay Uso versus RUSEV quarterfinal match
for the last time is now. Tournament. Good match, solid match,
not not you know nothing, not in a five star
(13:11):
match by any stretch, but I'll take it. You get
to see jay Uso pick up the win, which I
think everybody expected, but would have been okay if it
went the other way, really would have. I think they
haven't done justice to Russev to begin with. Not a
fan at all of how they handled the vacancy in
the tournament for Seamus, who is apparently injured. They replace
(13:31):
him with the Miz, who's complaining about how he know
he needs to be put back in the tournament, and
they draw the ball in here he gets his name
pulled again. How would he get his name drawn again
if it was already pulled previously. It should have been
somebody else that I think was a missed opportunity, even
if it was a one off. You brought somebody in
very interesting from TNA, from Triple A, something like that
(13:52):
would have been very very cool to see that. Instead
we ended up with the Miz having his name drawn,
and we're gonna that match later in the show. One
of the pieces that really confused me tonight, Chelsea Green
comes out Women's the United States championship celebration. While she's
out of the ring, She's in the middle of her
ceremony and Jade Cargill's music hit, and she just came
(14:13):
right to the ring. She went right through Alba Fire
and then took out Chelsea Green. I'm not sure where
they're going with that. Are they setting up a few
between the two of them? Are they gonna unify those belts?
I would hope not. I certainly don't think they will.
I just don't understand why Jay Cargill felt the need
to go out and just totally obliterate the second tier champion.
I think that was, you know, in a way, it
(14:35):
makes that champion look very weak in comparison to the
world champion, and that champion really should be a stepping
stone to the world Championship. So I was not a
fan of this angle unless, and it's gonna sound crazy,
unless you're gonna find a way to put Chelsea Green
in a position to win the Women's World Championship, which
I would absolutely love. I think she deserves it for
everything she does. Not likely, let's be honest, I think
(14:57):
we're moving towards Jade Cargill versus a returning beyond Cabell
Layer after the Royal Rumble at WrestleMania, something they wanted
to do in the past and couldn't. I think that's
where we're headed into near future. We then get the
La Knight versus mismatch. Not a fan of the the pairing,
the way they put it together, but the match itself
wasn't terrible at all. La Knight picking up the win
after a BFT I think that, you know, no matter
(15:20):
who they would have put in this situation based on
the booking that they did in the other like surprise
reveal opponent matches, I think whoever, the surprise reveals were
never we're gonna have a chance to actually win anything.
They were there more for the you know, the short pop,
the cheap heat or whatever. I love the Nick namath One.
I love the the Broski coming out and seeing Zach
(15:41):
Ryder as Zach Ryder, not as Matt Cardoner. If they're gonna,
you know, bring Rider back, I would much rather he
was Matt Cardone. I think it's a much more serious,
more layered character. But whatever, After that, we got what
I think is almost disrespectful as Charlotte Flair versus Oscar
match for the advantage in the women's war Games. Don't
get me wrong, I'm perfectly fun with the pairing, but
what time they were given and the amount of effort
(16:04):
that went into this match seemed lackluster compared to the
stuff they've done in the past. I felt like this
match could have been so much better instead, relatively quick match,
Flair picking up the win at the end with a
natural selection not even a no. Figure eight to be
found a little shocking to me, and a clean win
over Oscar wanted one of the premier stars in a
women's division. This should have had some kind of schmas ending,
(16:26):
just my opinion, but unfortunately that was not going to
be the case. They gave the champion they win to
Charlotte Flair. Now their team will have the advantage, and
you know, it is what it is, you know, it's
I just think I never like the good girls or
good guy teams winning the advantage. I didn't like that
same thing at Blood and Guts. I hate that when
(16:49):
the baby Faces get the advantage. Now, I understand aw
covered it up very well with the injury angle to
Mark Briscoe, which was really strange. Anyways, just given the
advantage to begin with. But whatever it is, what it is,
this is not a fan of I'm not sure how
they're gonna play this off. We'll have to wait and see.
Did love that at the end of the match, Charlotte
Flair is throwing up heart to everybody else in the
crowd and all that I've loved that the people are
behind Charlotte Flair. Now that's something I think is long overdue.
(17:11):
Congrats to her on really breaking through the fans. And
then the final match of the night, the MFTs versus
like that International Coalition I think Sammy's Ain called them.
First eliminated was jac Matteo and didn't expect that. I
actually thought the MFTs might run the table and have
nobody eliminated after him, Shinzkaan Nakamora, then Tonga Loa, then
the Motor City machine Guns, which I think is absolutely
(17:33):
ridiculous eliminating two people, but whatever. Ray Phoenix was next next,
followed by Tamatanga Talatanga, which I didn't expect to get
beat at all, but it's a count out, we'll take it.
But then of course Solo Socoa getting in the ring,
and Solo Socoa actually caught in Sammy's a with a
Simons bike and picks up the win for his team.
The MFTs win when then all of a sudden, the
(17:57):
lights go out. When they come back on Nicky Cross,
Joe Gase, see Eric Rowan, and Dexter Loomis are standing
behind Seccoa on the ring. Apron Uncle Howdie snuck up
on Takoa and surprised him with his sister Abigail, and
I think that is a fantastic way to end the show.
I was not a huge fan of a lot of
other things that happened on the show, but I think
that in particular was a great way to finish the
(18:19):
show because it really gave you some excitement and things
to build on for the future. We've been building this
feud for a long long time. Now it's time to
make it happen. To be honest with you, I would
put that sucker on Saturday and it's main event for
John Cena's final appearance. I'd put it on Tomorrow night.
But whatever they do with it, this is going to
be a very cool blood feud. It should have been
another War Games match. That's just my opinion. That's all
the time we have for this episode. Check back with
