go over. Let's start with a conversation that came up
on The Stevie Richards Show. If you're not tuning into
(02:47):
The Stevie Richards Show, you should really check that out.
It's a fantastic show on YouTube he does with James Romero,
where they pretty much cover everything in the world of
professional wrestling. And on a recent episode, which I thought
was fascinating was the converse about who is the person
who would in theoretically replace Triple H should the need
ever arise for a chief content officer. Stevie Richards didn't
(03:10):
hold back he had a very strong opinion that I'll
even read the QUOTEA says Taker is probably the most
influential person outside of Triple H running the company right now,
And I would have to say anytime, like even when
Vince went to Saudi Arabia, who is right next to
him Taker, So that's not out of the question. He
said a little bit later in the interview, I can
see Taker gaining power. But if we're talking about it,
like we mentioned here, Hunter puts himself and everything. Hunter
(03:32):
is trying to make himself indispensable to not be fired
by TK or the Saudis. But if they did come
to where Triple H did get moved on from the
company or the company moved on from Triple H, I
could definitely see Taker taking that chief content Officer title,
chief operating officer type of role. And I think it's
an interesting conversation. I don't think anybody's surprised when you
see Taker doing so much with Triple A right now.
(03:54):
His connection with Hunter, with Sewn Michaels, with Stephanie, they
are the guys who've been there for as long long
as they have. They're the longest tenured people in the company.
They understand the vision of professional wrestling. A lot of
their three of their vision are why the the WWE
progressed through that nWo competition, through WCW Nitro era and
we're able to come out the other side of become
(04:15):
the victors is because these guys had some really revolutionary thoughts,
things like d X going to the Omni in Atlanta
and almost you know, rolling in on Nitro and things
like that. Undertaker his his unwavering loyalty to the company,
things like that. I would not be surprised at all
if that's exactly what we would see. He does reference
later on seeing the roles that the Undertaker plays and
(04:38):
things like Unreal and other shows, the LFG and things
like that. So clearly Taker has a huge role to
play in WWNTKO going forward, and should there ever be
a need, it would not surprise me if that as well,
if that was what happened now. Along the same lines,
WWE just recently brought back created another YouTube channel for
(04:59):
the six feat under podcast for the Undertaker, which it
went live on November nineteenth. The episodes were released every
other Wednesday. I did see same guy James Ramiro, the
one who does the show with Stevie Richards has his
own show on there. He was very critical of the
first episode that came out, talking about essentially the lack
(05:19):
of talkative nature and the Undertaker and really the over
talkative nature of Michelle McCool who is his co host
on the show. Previously, he had a different co host
and that host was done away with right before the
Undertaker basically sold the show to TKO and WWE. And
now if look for a while, there was no new
content on the show, and all of a sudden it
start came back this week with new episodes. This does
(05:42):
not surprise anybody, I don't think, because you know, you've
seen over the course of the last year. You've seen
Cody Rhodes with his new show, What Do You Want
to Talk About, We've seen Stephanie McMahon with What's Your Story.
We've seen other things that they've messed around with in
terms of other program and beyond the regular television program.
So this is actually something I think really falls in line.
It does seem like Taker just doesn't seem like he
(06:04):
has the passion for it or the heart for doing it.
I don't know if that's accurate. I don't want to
speak for him, but he certainly, if you listen to
his tonality in the episode, doesn't exhibit the same kind
of excitement that you would expect from the Undertaker, certainly
not the excitement he seemed to have when he originally
kicked off the show back with the original host sometimes
having Cane on and things like that. I just I
wonder sometimes is this one of those things where he's
(06:25):
doing it because they're asking him to do it, or
is he doing it because he really wants to do it?
And Michelle McCool always has a lot to offer. But
what I think, and James Rameiro actually speaks about this
in his episode, I think what it speaks to though,
when you see the way these two interplay is that
she has no problem speaking. The Undertaker doesn't speak quite
as much, but he's the one who probably has significantly
more and more interesting road stories. No disrespect to Michelle mccoole,
(06:47):
but he was in the industry significantly longer met some.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Of the legends of the business.
Speaker 5 (06:52):
This week, there was a conversation about the Undertaker speaking
about Andre the Giant, how they had conversations when he
first came to WWE, but they could never do anything
together because of Andre's failing health and things of that nature.
So it's really interesting to hear those types of stories.
He worked with Bruiser Brody, he worked with like some
of the old school incredible talent in.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
Early in his career.
Speaker 5 (07:11):
He worked with Steve Austin in World Class in USWA
type territory. Those are conversations people want to hear about,
and I don't think Michelle McCool brings the same, certainly,
not the stories from that far back or the depth
of conversation that those stories bring, So I don't know,
maybe they'll tweak it going forward. It does seem like
this episode is a little better than the previous couple
episodes they had with Michell McCool and the Taker running it,
(07:33):
so I'll have to wait and see, But hopefully he
just sounds more into it next time when they run
a show. Got to bring up another piece from the
news today, aj Lee, who is responding to an what
she claims to be an inappropriate fake AI video that
was posted.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
So apparently she was at.
Speaker 5 (07:50):
An event where she had a fan come up to
her and I guess had some kind of meet and
greet of some kind. The person took the video or
the picture or whatever it was, and used an AI
program to create a video of aj Lee kissing him
on the cheek and then the two of them sharing
(08:12):
in a kiss. That prompted her to go on social
media and say this is inappropriate, it's harassment and please
delete it. And I agree with her one thousand percent.
AI has its purposes. Those are new things about me.
Know that I do some things with AI that are
incredibly helpful. But the reality is this can hurt people
at a different level. At the increasing quality of AI
(08:33):
video off the chain, and it creates situations where, you know,
some people could really.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
To really take things wrong.
Speaker 5 (08:41):
It makes it very difficult sometimes to find out what's
real and what's not, and that leads to disinformation and
things like that, not just at a pro wrestling level,
but on a monumental national level. So I would love
to see some kind of regulation around that. And I
certainly think that, especially in the past couple years where
wrestlers have been talking about how they're approaching to airports
and things like that, there needs to be something done
about the and truth that sometimes that fans bring to
(09:01):
these guys and ladies because they deserve their people just
like you and I are. They deserve their privacy, they
deserve their their autonomy over their image and likeness. And
it's really frustrating to see somebody take something where they
were being gracious, selling them to have a picture with them,
and turning into something it's not. So that's kind that's
kind of a shame. It seems like a weekly episode
thing that I have to cover this, but I'm going
(09:22):
to go into it anyways, always about contracts and things
that at Nature TNA. I'm not sure what they're doing.
Jody Threat former Knockouts Tag Team champion contract coming to
an end later this year. It sounds like it's their
negotiations with the company, but they're talking about the contract
officially expires on December first. This follows with a litany
of other talent that have had their contracts either expire,
(09:46):
come close to expiring, still on the horizon to fire
to expire very shortly. And you got a wonder in
a company that's trying to secure a media rights deal,
why do they keep letting all these contracts expire? And
as some people say, oh, you know, if they let
them expire, then they get the media right steal, they
have a better idea of the kind of money that
they're working with in terms of budgeting for contracts. If
these people were willing to sign before, I don't think
you have to astronomically increase your salary to be able
(10:08):
to make it affordable. When you're bragging about how you're
doing some of the best business you've done since the
AJA Styles years.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
If that's the.
Speaker 5 (10:13):
Case, pay them something that they feel is serviceable and
keep them under contract. You can't let people walk away.
In the numbers that we're talking about TNA possibly letting happen,
and it's somewhat concerning, especially when their product really has
been an uptick. Not loving all the NXT crossover stuff.
I think some of it's interesting. I think some of
it's a little bit too much, but you know, it
is what it is. Also in the world or the
(10:36):
conversation about contracts. FORMERWE star Soreya also known as Paige.
When she was in ww always getting asked about.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Whether she's coming back to WWE or wrestling in general.
Speaker 5 (10:48):
She was doing an interview with The Toronto Son and
she spoke about at potential return. I'll give you the quote.
It says, I will say anytime an interview. In an interview,
I always get asked that. Every person that comes to
my table, I always get asked that. But Twitter can
be so harsh because if I talk about it, They're like,
you're begging for a job. I'm like, no, people ask me,
and I'm just answering the question. I'm not randomly going, hey,
bring me back. No, I'm just getting a lot of
love and people in good reception from this, and people
(11:10):
really just wanted me to come back, and I think
that's incredible, and.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
Yeah, maybe maybe one day.
Speaker 5 (11:14):
I don't know, though obviously she's not beating the doors
down to WWE to come back. She went on further
in the interview to talk about her passion has come
back for wrestling. I think she would, you feel from
the tonality of the conversation in the interview that she
really would love to do something, but it's got to
be right, and it's got to be something that everybody's
all parties are interested. And I think she would probably
love to work with AJ again now that she's back.
(11:35):
So we'll have to see how it plays out. I
would not be surprised if we saw a Royal Rumble
return I think that would be incredible, especially if her
and aj Lee were in the match and ended up
in the ring together.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
But we'll have to wait and see.
Speaker 5 (11:44):
But I think WWE fans, because they do have long memories,
would be thrilled to see her back into ww ring.
I think there's some unfinished business there, especially the way
she went out the last two times she had to
stop wrestling FORWE.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
She's back, She's ready to go.
Speaker 5 (11:56):
I think she could do an amazing job in WWE
once again, and really a part of forwarding stories that
sometimes can get a little monotonous, you know what I'm
saying on that topic, because we didn't do a reaction
show this week to any of the programming so far.
Love John Sena winning the Intercontinental Championship, think it was necessary.
This week's raw kind of kind of snoozefest for a
(12:17):
good part of it. Love the Intercontinental Women's Championship change.
I'm not sure that would have picked Maxine to be
the one to do it, but whatever it is, what
it is, Kudos to her. Love the AJ League got
back involved, But I was actually kind of hoping that
Becky would have kept that title to lose it to
aj Lee. But this is interesting because Becky is a
main world championship level contender, as should be aj Lee.
So maybe this does put the title war Belongs in
(12:38):
the mid card and it separates the upper stars maybe
to go for the women's championship. We'll have to see
how that plays out. Absolutely love that we have war
games now settled, at least for the men in terms
of we're gonna be where, and it's very obvious where
the women are gonna go. We're gonna see Becky and
we're gonna see a Ja added to that. So that'll
be an interesting match as well with blood and Guts
just taking place. And I could go down a whole
(12:59):
converse about blood and Guts. I think there was sometimes
too much stuff going on, sometimes not enough stuff going on.
I saw Ricky Steamo didn't love the match. You thought
there was too much going on. I didn't understand why
you gave in the men's blood and Guts match, Why
you gave an advantage to the good guys only to
take it away with that ridiculous Brisco injury angle to
then just give them the big come out at the end.
(13:20):
You should have just had the bad guys have the
heels have the advantage from the beginning. But whatever, I'm
not Tony Kahan. I don't book these things. It is
what it is. That show is solid. This show is solid.
I think Survivor Series will be amazing. But I am
starting to have a problem with is on SmackDown we're
going to get a traditional five on five elimination match?
Is a traditional Survivor Series match? Why isn't that on
the Survivor Series card. If you're gonna put something on
(13:42):
Survivor Series, put the traditional Survivor Series match on the
Survivor Series card. Why we're putting that on SmackDown the
night before is ridiculous to me. You know, put that
on the card. Put the two War Games matches on
the card May and the Sena and Dominic rematch on
the card, and one other match. I don't care what
it is. You don't even have to have another match.
You can have Justo's four and it would be enough
to keep most people happy, especially with ww's been doing
(14:03):
these five and six match pay per views lately, and
that would have been fine. I don't like the idea
of taking something with the WWE's baby, the Survivor Series
and not even putting on the Survivor series pay per view,
yet taking a NWA slash WCW concept and making it
the focal point of Survivor series. I think what would
be better is have both on that show. I really do.
I think it'd be a great idea. Don't get me
on that Tangento becus. To be perfectly honest with you,
(14:24):
I think WWE's missing the Boca. Is the my favorite
WCW concept ever that nobody does anymore is the battle
Bowl the forty men, twenty teams, ten tag team matches,
the ten winning tag teams going into a two ring
battle royal winner from ring one versus the winner from
ring two for a shot at the world title. How
cool would that be? In twenty twenty five in WWE,
just saying and the last tidbit tonight, Nick Hogan, Hulk
(14:45):
Cogan's son, he was into having a conversation about whether
or not with it with TMZ, whether or not he
would be interested in going into.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
The wrestling business.
Speaker 5 (14:53):
His quote, I'll have it for you here says you
never know, man, it's in the blood, so you never know.
I've always loved the business. Being around that environment makes
feel much closer to my pops, he said. He added
that the wrestling world has felt like family to him,
and I look, the kid's got to build. He's got
the body, he's got some muscle tone to him, he's
obviously got the family background. I think it would not
be a terrible idea. I really don't. I think it
(15:14):
actually might be an interesting idea. But if that's something
he's gonna do, I don't know. I don't remember how
old Nick Hogan is. I know he's not he's he's
younger than I am.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
But I'm no spring chicken either.
Speaker 5 (15:23):
So hopefully he gets out there and figures out a
way if he's going to do it, to get on
with it. Otherwise, turn the page, just start telling people
know it's not going to happen. That way, we don't
have conversations like this where we have to hypothesize about
something that has really little to no chance of actually happening.
