Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and welcome to chapter two eighty of the DC
Alliance Podcast with me as always is Joe. Joe. How
are you doing today.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
I'm tired, Travis. I've been working too much, working with work,
working with podcasting. I do too much, not breaking on myself.
I like having money with work, and then I liked
the podcast, but it's my own fault.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Yeah, you chose to do three weekly episodes for watching Multiverse.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
No I don't.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Yes, I did, but I wanted to give those episodes
a thorough you.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Know, not not not poo pooing it. It's just as
some lot brought on yourself. You might have been able
to review one or two later when you didn't have
as much.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Yeah, I also.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Didn't want to. I had the opportunity to cover both
Revival and Resident Alien at the same time, so I'm like, yeah,
why not? And then Twisted Metal came back and I'm like, Okay,
this is this is going on. I'll take that.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
I can I say a positive for in this situation, though,
Getting the content as quick as possible after it comes out,
like getting your your review off state content as quickly
as it comes out, is the best form. Like glad
for us for peace Maker. It's gonna be rough, but
I'm glad for just I.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Mean yeah, like quickly.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Yeah, I mean my at least a Peacemaker is like
a day away. The other one is like a couple
of days. I was gonna try and do Residents, uh
Alien Earth as well, but that drops Tuesday nights, and
Tuesdays is when I, you know, walk the malt Verse

(01:41):
comes out, So it's like I would have to watch
the episode of eight o'clock, try and record something almost
immediately after, and then upload it immediately.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
I'm like, nah, day, that's just that you'd need to
switch with, Like if you want switch days with animation,
they can cover it.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
That would be that would be the better way to
Oh then uh.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
The other problem is that I've got other.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Shows that's not really that much of the time.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Yeah, but I've also got but I still have Twisted
Metal coming out, so it's like I don't know. Plus
I mean I got I mean Red Sonja came out
this past or today technically well this past week, but
it's not showing in my area, so I can't review
that thanks limited release.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Oh jeez, crap.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
But Toxic Avenger comes out next few weeks, So hopefully
that's showing around in my area, because I do kind
of want to see how bad that movie is could.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Be some people I've heard things about that. I'm interested.
I think if Peter Dinkle in it, because he's been yeah,
he's been doing.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
He's gonna be toxic Avenger. Okay, it's gonna be so
as Elijah would because he's gonna be in it as well. Okay,
it's gonna be a it's gonna be messed up. And
I'm looking forward to watching that movie. I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
I'm gonna check that out too, Joe.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
To be honest with you, I haven't checked out Fit
four yet, so that's something that I gotta do pretty quickly.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
I would check out Face before I check out Doctor.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, that's that's the plan.
It's just harder to get away these days.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
How you doing. I know we did. We didn't record
last week because you had a uh a fire scare.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Yeah, we're on the prepared to evacuate. And my parents
were visiting from another province.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
So yeah, a.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Couple us, uh, they would have they would have it.
They're nice to see them.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Actually, it's been it's been a full year actually, so
to see them in for Oliver two. So they do
FaceTime basically every day when they're not working.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
So but yeah, sea face, oh yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Oh yeah, it was really nice. So and she cut
his hair, it was it was nice. And then yeah
it was. We were worried there for a bit with
the wind, but luckily that didn't Now my parents are
gone to my father's hometown eight hours away and they
were they're stuck there as of now because of that fire,
I said, with the western landed gone across the road
and the highway is closed, so they're stuck up there

(04:01):
right now. But I think they're they're making waves with that.
We had rain today too, for the first time a
week and a half.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
So my my front line looks like a like a
tumbleweed back now that's my backline. So yeah, it's it's rough,
but I'm excited to tacklate.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
We got a lot of news to catch up, and
we have a trade and everything to Taka Bay and
we have a new show that comes out next week, Joe.
So before we do all that, let me get the
network plugs that a way. We are part of the
geek Olden Alliance with six shows in total. On Mondays,
it's Ranger Alliance. On Tuesdays as they walk through the Multiverse.
On Wednesdays is the Animation Nation. On Thursdays is Star
Wars Alliance. On Fridays is Marvel Alliance. On Saturdays, it's
DC Alliance. Star Wars Alliance goes live in the geek

(04:38):
First YouTube channel Wednesdays at seven pm Eastern Time, Marvel
Alliance goes live Thursdays at nine to ten pm Eastern Time,
and DC Alliance goes live Fridays at seven pm Eastern Time.
All through those shows, I'll set their own podcast feeds
search DC Alliance, Marvel Alliance, and Star Wars Alliance. It's
just about DC content, Marvel content or Star Wars content only,
which about all six shows on the g WA podcast networks.
Statescribed to The Gay and Your Podcast Apple Choice, I
said the Patrion and two Tears at dollars here at

(05:00):
a five dollars here. The door here is basically tip
Jry like we're doing. You want to help us out
any way you can. And the five hour here where
you get your extra you get your ad free episodes,
early access episodes, and Patrion exclusive shows and episodes, myself
and Joe going through all the DC films through the year.
Over thirty pieces of capped up there now in August
read is supposed to be the Maybe We review. We
also have the Marvel Alliance guys Chris and David doing

(05:23):
their backs are broadcast talking about the at the Fantastic
Four films. I think they're all down my Fox, so
I can say the Fox is Fantastic four films?

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Was the first one?

Speaker 2 (05:33):
First one?

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Yeah, I'm not percent No, I don't think the first
one was so the TV.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Movie, Yeah, the Roger Corman one.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Yeah, I don't think that one was Fox. I could
be right though, but yeah, they're doing that.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
They also have two shows on the back flag for
the patrons as well, and we have Joe's Multiverse Minutes
where right now he's doing his Disney deep dives on
the first and the fifteenth of every month. Joe reviews
the Disney film not just review. It could be fun
behind the scenes, fax tibbets, all that sort of thing. Joe,
what is the maybe that came out today?

Speaker 2 (06:04):
Oliver and Company just dropped in company.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Nice name, nice thing.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Yeah, I mean it's a it's an interesting name. It's
you know, whatever. No, that's one I've never actually watched.
I've seen bits and pieces over over the years, but
one I never actually watched start to finish, and it's
it's it's fine, it's brower, it's fine, it's I mean,
it's a fun family movie. But yeah, you know, it's whatever.

(06:31):
But the next one up though, is a Little Mermaid.
So I'm up to the renaissance of the Disney era finally.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Oh that'll be nice.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Yeah, get the good ones, and.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
We think everyone that's patron If you're not a patron,
if you take a quick thirty sixty second for you
impew the podcast on your podcast app of choice is
always greatly appreciate.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
It helps our people find the shows, and that's always
a good thing. Okay, Joe, we have we'll get into
the first topic here. That's teammates last week will in
the last couple of days really, which is a new
movie coming out for the DCU.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
David Zaslack was the first.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
One to give hints of this, and James Gunn has
spoken about this Superman Saga movie, well, the next movie
in the Superman Saga. What do you think when you
heard about this show.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
I mean, I barely heard of it, only because I've
been busy in the uh just doing every other all
the other stuff with other other shows. But I mean,
I'm happy, like, don't get me wrong, I'm really happy
that we're gonna get another one, so yay. But I
don't know all the details. I didn'tet a chance to
look at all the details, so.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
There's not a lot of details right now. There's not
a lot of so James Gunn said, we're scheduling it now.
I'm totally done with the treatment. My treatments are incredibly intense.
They're not regular treatments. They're sixty pays treatment with dialogue
and everything. And so now I'm just turning that into
a script. We're planning it out. When we're going to

(07:57):
shoot that, it'll be much sooner rather than later. That
was an interview with Collider and then from Empire City
Backs office, James Gunnan. DC is targeting July ninth or
July sixteenth, twenty twenty seven for Superman semi sequel.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
And that's a really quick turnaround.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Yes, it's been fast tracked by DC official and Warner Brothers.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
So interesting.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Okay, what I've seen so far as Supermer May, Supergirl,
and Crypto. So I wonder will it be something to
do with Brainiac. Maybe we'll see Brainiac towards the end
of Supergirl, or maybe he'll be a villain in Supergirl
like we saw with my adventures with Superman and possible.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
I mean, they can easily twist the woman the Tomorrow
storyline and have Brainiac play a role in that somehow.
It's not hard. I mean, that story itself is a
standalone thing. You could you can. I mean, you're bringing
Lobo into that. That movie so easily add a big

(09:02):
Superman villain if you wanted to.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Well, Craig Gillespie, who's the director for Supergirl, said as well.
James Bunn told him that like every film is unique,
it's like his own graphic novel. Correct, So like it's
going to be different from Superman, which I'm excited to
see that as well. Like I really enjoyed Submit. I
can't wait to check it out again now on Digital Joe.
But yeah, but we've gotten something to come out that

(09:26):
we'll talk of it now.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
There will be more things.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
We'll probably talk about it next week or going probably
forward past next week, because next week will be pretty
peacemaker oriented. But yeah, I'm excited by this. This is
only positive news like I wish to do. We'll get it,
We'll jump into the.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
Box office to of this of Superman. What I've liked
it to have made more? Yes, but I still think
this was a.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Good I'll say, because what's the city on now? Last
I looked, which was I think yesterday it was sitting
out five eighty one or five eighty.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
Two, and now it's digitally so it's the numbers are
going to go down pretty quickly. I assume maybe I'm
wronging a bay that it.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Won't go up as quickly as I as I would hope.
That means that means seven hundred. I'm it's kind of
gonna be reaching now, I think.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
And I wanted to make more than six sixty, which.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Yeah, which I don't know. I don't even know if
he'll do that, and I don't know.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
If that's because I don't know if that counts Tuesday
while stuff.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
So uh yeah, but yeah, I still I would have
liked for it to make seven hundred.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
But if it breaks six hundred, I'll be happy now.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
Same same and the positive reviews for that is really
good as well, Like it just keeps.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
I mean, don't get me wrong, I would still love it.
I still feel I mean this is still a positive. Mhmm.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
I said, hey, Greg, oh, what's going on? Right?

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Like it what it did for the amount of money
it made on the budget it had, Like it's doubled
this budget, which.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
I very least break even.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
It broke even and maybe maybe made just a little
bit of money on top of what.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
If people usually say like two point five time, like
people usually say it played in a random number for
a market for what American costs, I will say, a
lot of that is less.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
A lot of that is less for this film exactly
because they did a lot of cross platform promoting too,
like they did still on NBA, on T n T,
and they didn't have they don't have that property anymore,
an Joe Like, that's god Like, that's not as it
is anymore. So that opportunity to show that movie in
front of that audience, they don't have that going forward,
So it's going to be actually more costs to do that.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
But like they did a really good.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
Job of cross promoting a lot for this Superman that
knock down the budget of the marketing quite a bit.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
It was a it was a good push. They had
great word of mouth. I mean it was number one
for two weeks. Fantastic four came out. Well that's I mean,
that's awesome. Good for you, Greg, I mean only ticket
you can yet you can scream that's awesome. But like
Greg mouth, Fantastic four came out and it kind of

(12:16):
knocked it down. But then when when Fantastic four dropped,
we did see that Superman didn't drop as much, which
is I'm not gonna say a bad sign, but not
a great sign, like.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
A super Superman was the best of those three films
in my opinion, Well, I okay, sorry, of the two films,
I haven't seen Fantastic four yet, Superman performed better than
Fantastic Four in Durastic World.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
I have understand that world.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
Yes, I'm like Snell said, people love their dinosaurs. I know.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Uh oh, I'm hearing says Greg said four was good.
But I'm hearing both sides of that coin.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Yeah, I enjoyed Fantastic four. I did.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
I'm here like people say super Man it's better. I'm
hearing people say Fantastic or No, I haven't gotten a
clear consensus either way from everything I've seen so far.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
Well, here, but here's what the here's the thing is.
The thing about it is though Superman is the beginning
of something and Fantastic four, you don't need the fifty
some odd Marvel movies going into it, you know, No,
they're basically on the same level going into the theaters.
That's really where you're coming, like you have going into it.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
But which which is enjoyable? I look forward to.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
I wonder will they actually I can't. I'll reserve by
Fantastic four questions either.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
I mean, go watch the movie first and then you
can actually you know, then we can have a good
good talk talking about it.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
We'll have a good pre uh pre DC alliance discussion.
But I'm excited for this. This just means more films
for DC. They did put out that they're trying to
put in like a lot more films and television each year,
so I'll be curious about And one thing that just
popped in my head, Joe for us, I have a
feeling Lanterns is gonna be showing on Sunday, So I
feel like we're gonna get the bad the Penguin treatment

(14:05):
where we're gonna be doing special episodes for Lanterns or.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
Something like that. I hope I'm wrong. I hope it
comes at the same time as Peacemaker, But I got
a feeling.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Where I mean it's it's the HBO show though, So yeah,
if it's gonna be on HBO and not on HBO
Max like exclusive, although isn't listen Peacemaker on HBO is
that Max thing?

Speaker 1 (14:26):
I don't think. I think it's a mass hbox.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
Okay, it might come out.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
On HBO at some point, but.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
But if it's if it's a if Lanterns is an
HBO thing, then yeah, it's definitely coming out on Sunday
Lanterns most Oh, it's definitely gonna be fun.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Yeah, I can't wait to see that.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
So Joe, let's uh, we're excited for the film and
obviously sums up. Hopefully it actually comes to fruition. So
let's take our first at break of the evening and
jump into some news listeners weren't as support network were
gonna pick the ad.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
I'm gonna be quick. You can't do adjust your vine
and we'll be right back in three two one, and
we're back, Okay, Joe, like we alluded to, Superman has
been released digitally today. What do you think of that

(15:20):
decision to put that out there? We have a reason
from James Gunn as well.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
I think I think I ate too much honey Chicken
from from the Chinese place, That's what I think. But
it was really good, just saying no, two months out,
you know, two months from when it came. Two months No,
a month.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
July, first week of July.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
Oh yeah, so just over to just it's wait, what day.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
Is No, it's a month, it's a month.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Yeah, you're right, Yeah, a month time time is fluid.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
Like forty days something like that.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
Yeah, yeah, thanks Greg. I mean it actually was pretty good,
honey Chicken, just saying no, So a month out is
pretty early, Like I figure you give it two months
in theaters. But at the same time, though, you know,
you do want to get in front of people. Not

(16:18):
everybody went to theaters to go see it. Now you
have the opportunity to rent it at home because a
lot of people nowadays wait to wait to watch it
at home. Now they wait until it's on a streaming
service they have to watch it. But now you can
get a lot of that return on investment or return
on the VOD and renting it and get that money,

(16:42):
you know, and that you can probably add that to
the profits. And it's not box office profits, but you
can still add to the profits. And so that's that
is a net positive. But a month out, like, I
don't I wish there were the wait at least two months.
Technically they should have wear it three.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
But I'm okay with this move, Joe.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
To be honest with you, if they looked at the
metrics and thought that it was now, James Gunn is
saying he did that because he wants He thought Peacemaker
is gonna be held nextra.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
Week and he.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
Wanted Superman to lead into Peacemaker, wanted people to be
able to watch it at home before Peacemaker came out,
which I don't think is a great excuse for it.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
If you were telling me that your.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
Accountants and told that told me like it was, you
weren't going to make that much more money at the
box office. Because there's news here that Superman has reached
number one on Apple TV's Top Movie charts, So I mean.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
Is doing is selling well?

Speaker 3 (17:38):
Also, it's like if your accountants told you like it
doesn't make sense to keep it internet line.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
That's fine. What James guns saying, he's doing it so
that people can watch it before Peacemaker. I think that's silly.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
I mean so because I know it's in our notes
for later on. But there's a rumor that Superman is in.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
Last week's last couple of weeks ago, we talked about that.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
Yeah, we had talked about that, but like, okay, fine,
so what's the scene? Is that a big scene? He
doesn't need to be a big scene whatever, But like
we you already saw the trailer, so you know that
the Justice Gang is in there.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
Yes, he said that he hasn't sent out episodes uh
like six, seven, and eight because he thinks episode six
he don't want anyone to be like spoiled first like spoilers.
He said, you can find spoiler for first five episodes
if you looked NAT. But he's like, I think six
and eight are some of the best work I've ever done.
So Ever, he's including any movie, so I guess he

(18:34):
doesn't want it.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
There was a.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
Surprise remember when Justice League blew up the Internet in
the morning when Peacemaker, when they showed up like the
actual Justice League.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
If season one. Oh yeah, that broke the internet, Like
that was crazy.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
So, like I can only imagine what he has in
sewer for this this season.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
I'm excited for a Joe.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
But I'm gonna be I'm gonna love it. It's gonna
be great peace making season. What was amazing. I just
think that watching for season two comes out, so we
got I think I.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
Think the numbers will show for this ultimately how much
it makes. I don't know if they even release those numbers.
That was one of the things back in the day
you had DVD sales, blue rays sales that you could watch.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
That and that was a second avenue to make yeah,
the movies.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
And now, like when you go look at some of
the DCEU DVDs and blue rays and stuff is absolutely insane.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
The money bridy in insane, like over one hundred million.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
And now they don't do that.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
No, I don't.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
Barely get like these these shows on DVD. Well, at
the same time though, like they're not there's no place
to go out and about and give them. You have
to either order them online maybe because they don't make
them because.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
And again they have deals with like Crave dB in
Canada that they'll give any DC stuff and like you're
not making any extra So I don't know.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
I just I it is weird how it is now.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
But I will be interested to see if we can
find out how many digital purchases there was for Superman
and like, sure.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
Well they have the numbers. Well it really is on
the Apple Store.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
Uh. I'm happy for it. I'm excited that it's it's
out there. I'm excited people can see it. I'm hoping
that it's that he didn't do it so that people
like specifically to be like, hey watch this before you
watch Peacemaker. Like I know again, I know that there
are things and events going on in Superman that tie in,

(20:24):
like Rick Flagg, like Justice Gang. But like my girlfriend
has not seen Superman yet and I don't think she
will before Peacemaker comes out next week. So but she's
gonna go in the Peacemaker just fine, you know.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
Yeah yeah, and again like that shouldn't have to be
required exactly. I've seen a quote in here which would
help you if you did. We watch Superman too, Well,
we'll talk about it. Let's let's let's just slide it
over first.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
So mhm, there an updates m and the stream air
and I'm like, wait, how do you do this again? Okay,
up there we go, let's kill the volume close catching exactly.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
I did like, I did enjoy this a little beginning
with the back and forth of these two.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
Yeah, I did like that, and I did like the cursing.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
So uh we can actually say peep, So how long
is it?

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Actually? Thirty seconds?

Speaker 2 (21:37):
And the trailer sounds like a minute or something, so.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Oh two minutes, two minutes?

Speaker 3 (21:42):
So yeah, and again during some stuff and this, I was, Okay,
I'm vigilante, so I'm excited to see if I'll like
him a bit more in the next this season and Peacemaker,
it has the cannon that he's bisexual too, So dude,
girls in his orgies here?

Speaker 2 (22:03):
I mean, yeah, it's orgy. We expect and.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
We get the story.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
Trailer is Flag going after Peacemaker and talking about right here.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
Joe, That's what I wanted to talk about.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
Okay, so literally say and like Lex Luthor, he his
impotension of some sort of dimensional portal. So that's the
thing we saw in the first season that he held
his like weapons in that. We see a lot more
of that in this.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
Where was that who.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
That was what's his name from Les's team?

Speaker 1 (22:33):
Was it that guy? I'm not sure.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
I don't know that nine hundred show on that huh okay,
it could have been something we saw in the movie.
But yeah, this is the guy, this alien. But he's
gonna have a big payaff towards me and he's gonna
save him or something. It's possible he's a grip keeper
of look, and yeah, it's basically about their team and

(22:59):
and economists and oh I can't remember the other girl's name.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
That uh yeah, hardcore hard Yeah, they work for Argus. Still,
I'm excited to see too. Matto's character too. He's hilarious.
And kick Master judle Master, sorry he is back again.
Kick Master. Yeah, we've seen this. I've seen this in
the trailers before most of this stuff.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
So, uh, I would like to see more rackapack you
snack gonna lie.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
Just just saying and any eaglely is good eagerly.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
I can pretend you found that.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
Oh, and yet comes back home more time.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
Oh, poor guy.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
God that I always never says anything when I say hi.
I don't know why. I just maybe laugh when he
said that.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
But so it looks like and and Greg says here,
you know how crazy is this? Scena ends up being
such a good actor.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
Of the He's the second number two in the wrestling
actor pantheon, greg It goes number one at the Batista
just a range.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
Of well, no, hold on, hold on, hold on. Number
one is Andre the giant.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
Come on one role? Was it not gonna lie? Pretty descried?

Speaker 3 (24:23):
Yes, but but but the.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
This is great scene is great.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
Number two. Rock just plays rock and everything. So but
I mean Rock started out.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
When Rock started out, I really liked him. I mean,
like the Mummy was fine. I loved him in a
Scorpion King. But then yeah, he became his ego got
the better of him, and then it's like I'm the
greatest actor ever ever, and like I'm gonna do This's.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
Gonna be myself and every every role, Like.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
I mean, don't get wrong, Junger Cruise was kind of fun.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
But yes, Batista, but he's just been a I'm villain.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
Batista has been in knives, Knives.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
He's just the roles. The roles are rocking black.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
And walked all was great. That was that was one
of his early roles. But so like the early Rock was.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
Good comedy seen as the best comedy actor, but David
everything it's just rock, hasn't Yeah, John has.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
Done drama, has done comedy, has done action rock. But
then against all of them have rock, like Rocky Oh yeah, Batista,
Uh yeah, I can I can see that.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
Doing more comedy than I can easily see how you
put Sina over Batista easily?

Speaker 1 (25:46):
Uh, just because Scene is way.

Speaker 3 (25:48):
Better at comedy than any of the other wrestling actors
I've seen. Like, he's really good, he's comedic timing, he's
really good thinking about in the Blockers, well, he was fantastic.
He that was really good Joe, And he was really
good in that Amy Schumer movie.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
I haven't watched that one train Wreck.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
Yeah, so yeah, he's really improved.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
But then again in Peacemaker, like the one scene when
he's naming off all those people that that economists could
have named other than his dad, that was all that's
all off the top of his head. Like come on,
I mean eighties Hawk, maybe.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
Halts made some bad movies. It's just helps makes some
bad decisions. Just leave it. I thank you for the
entertainment you gave me when I was really young, just
to say that.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
But not the greatest decisions. So well, Peacemaker. We're excited
it comes out next week. I'm also thinking about the
what's the nanny one that Hall Hultman was in?

Speaker 1 (26:55):
Oh my god, I'm mister nanny. Maybe I'm not. He
was a nanny in one that I remember watching when
I was really young.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
I do remember.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
Maybe that's what it was called. I don't think so.
I think it was an actual nanny in one too.
But maybe that's the IRONLD sports thing I'm confusing too,
or maybe they both had one. There's a lot of
similar movie out there.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
Well, and I mean every single wrestler did a nanny
like comedy movie. Ish, Batista did that, rock did that.
I think, see that have done that, Halt died that,
I want to say, I mean been Decel did that,
but he wasn't a wrestler.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
So hopeful Rocky three too. Yeah that was uh so.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
Yeah, we're excited for peace Maker right now. There's been
five episodes. I already gave it given to some of
the press. It got one hundred percent on Rotten Tomatoes,
which not really out of the ordinary when you consider
it's been selected for people, but still that makes me happy.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
It's awesome. I got like a what eleven yeah, eleven reviews, so.

Speaker 3 (27:55):
And the Nexus Point News reviewed it, and they're probably
the best news people out there, Like they don't put
out too much in terms of rumors or foul stuff.
So they're saying it's frilling, Peacemaker season two goes above
and beyond, balancing humor and heart. So yeah, that's essentially
what they said there. For that, I won't get into

(28:17):
any of the actual spoiler spoilers in the.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
Yeah or anything like that.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
I clicked on the article and I'm like, it's talked
about spoilers of the episode. Yeah, I'm clicking out of
this article.

Speaker 3 (28:29):
No, I didn't see that until I shared it, but
I just read the headline. So yeah, of course, like
I said, eleven eleven positive reviews as of right now.
So I'm interested to see. Actually, there is somebody there
we Go that I have had on the animation Nation.
Nick said Nick that I'm interested in hearing because he

(28:51):
I think he got the Yeah, I've seen the first
five episodes of peace Maker season two and it's pretty
good after a rocky start eventual, because I heard that too.
The first two episodes are slow after Rocky started Eventually,
finds his group, with Johnsina putting in his best work.
The vulgarity of it all may vary your mileage, but overall,
I think a comic bookie it's wonderful life.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Uh oh wait, actually I can see why I consider that.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
Yeah, yeah, more fun surprises to come, with the potential
for a satisfying conclusion, to justify its existence to the DCU,
to make it great.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
And yes, the opening credits rock, so we.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
Knew we're yeah, we know we're getting new.

Speaker 3 (29:27):
Ones and perhaps does Eddie two there might give him
shreedit for just not spoiling anything like that. That was
a good review without spoiling anything in there for me,
the basically the small things, it's a wonderful life.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
But when you think about the trailers, you kind of
can piece together. Ye do we know?

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Are we getting a one episode or two episode drop
for the first for the premiere?

Speaker 1 (29:50):
I'm not sure at the moment. I think it just one?

Speaker 2 (29:53):
Good? Okay, good?

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Yeah, I don't think too hopefully just one.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
I mean, I hope they just keep it just one.

Speaker 1 (29:59):
Now.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
I'm not saying we can't do a two episode review.
I'm fine with I'm fine with that, but just doing
the uh doing the two episode drop and then like
one after that. I don't know. It's just having too
many is uh. It can be problematic at times, is all.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
Yeah, And again you don't want to overseat rate and
put too many. I did not like to like I'll
drops like King of the Hill came out everything.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Uh yeah, that's also like a that's twenty minute episodes
right still.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
I just it's eleven episode or ten episodes out at once.
It's just I've always I've become soft since the Marvel
Netflix days where they used to drop album. Uh, we'll
keep going here now, Joe. Actually we'll take our final
ad break of the evening right now. Listeners weren't ad
support network, gona pick the ads and Violum is gonna
be a quick three to just your volume and we'll

(30:53):
be right back in three, two.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
One, and we're back. Okay, Joe, let's go through some
of these news that we have here that's not peacemaker oriented.
James Gunn asked about whether Harley Quinn will come back

(31:18):
to the DCU. Well, we know if she's playing Harley
Quinn or not Margaret Robbie. That will be revealed down
the line. Is what he told EW.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
That wasn't the only Suicide Squad member he talked about, though.
He also talked about blood Sport and a little bit
more of a quote here is and I definitely am
always looking for a place to put blood Sport and
figuring that out.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
So we'll see what happens.

Speaker 3 (31:41):
Do you think we'll see both of these Edges Elba
and Margot Robbie back as those characters, or do you
think either of those will be recast?

Speaker 2 (31:49):
I mean, I can see it just about coming back
his blood Sport, mainly because he was in James Guns
like that was his choice for a character. Margaret Bobby
as Harley. As much as I loved her as Harley Quinn,
I would love for her to come back. I can
see that one being recast because of that character being

(32:11):
such a popular character, and that character having the possibility
of being in a movie, in a Batman movie, in
a solo movie down the line. I can see her
being recast and having back like a younger actress so
that they can continue it on.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
And I prefer both be recasts because it's just.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
Easier just leave DCU behind, especially if you ever want
to do like a World's Colyde type thing.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
Well, sure, but if you have this peacemaker, if you
have John C the peacemaker continuing on, it's the same.
This is the thing I brought up all the time.
If you have this peacemaker continuing with this character, then
you have to backpedal. You've got help, a blood sport,
You've got all this. I know they're gonna figure it
out with this show and this. I get that, but like.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
It's still associated.

Speaker 3 (33:04):
Still you associated with your average fan who just watched films,
they would still think the same.

Speaker 1 (33:09):
Yeah, yeah, so.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
But no, I mean, honestly, I'm fine with either way.
I would love to see youres Alba come back. He's
such a great, great actor. Margot Robbie is a great actress.
Like I would love to see him both come back,
But out of the two, I would rather have it
dress Alba.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
I I agree with that as well.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
Uh, Joe, did you see David Hornswitz Superman make his
second appearance in the DCU.

Speaker 1 (33:33):
I did not, I did.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
I didn't realize that what I was watching first. That
was like a couple of days ago. But there's a
new animated short. James Gunn said it will be animated
shorts for Crypto, and at the start of it, Clark
Can't makes an.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
Appearance with his coffee.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
The short is called Crypto, says the day it should
be called Crypto, causes chaos and then has to fix
what he what he did. But yeah, it was really enjoyable, fun,
nice thing for kids watch. I put it on for
Oliver and he watched it and just smile laughed. So
it was just a silly thing. And yeah, I would
recommend watching it, like four to five minutes, I think, so, yeah,

(34:08):
not too long. But yeah, we have corn Swap making
his second appearance uh flood, and I don't think this.

Speaker 1 (34:15):
Will be the last one.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
They're supposed to be more, but I don't think this
would be Superman's last appearance.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
I mean, I'm sure we'll see him a peacemaker now.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
One of the things.

Speaker 3 (34:26):
Well, he also really wants to appear in the Batman
praven To Bowl. Apparently he's on record saying I'm trying
to end up in that movie. I want to really
be in that movie, was what it told in an interview.
But again, I don't know how they're gonna go with that.
I don't know when we're going to see that because
we have some news about the Batman Part two when
it's going to go into production, and Joe, like I

(34:46):
told you, there are some special features on the on
the digit digital release. One of those is like the
Die of a DC Era is like a one hour thing.
We'll watch it and talk about it at some point.
But there's also some rick kind of people are talking
about it potentially happening in in the digital release of Superman.

Speaker 1 (35:08):
There's a little thing on the.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
Bottom of the of the TV screen saying the Daily
Planner shows Luthor was behind the false images of Superman's
parents message. So before James gumb was cleaning claiming that
this is what it was, like, that's how it was,
but now he's people are thinking he might be backtracking

(35:31):
on that a.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
Little bit interesting. So Greg, when you go see the
movie tomorrow, make sure you check the bottom ticker at the.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
End to see to see if that's there. You can
see it there.

Speaker 3 (35:42):
When Maxwell Lower basically talks about what like what everyone
thinks of Lex Luthor, it's I.

Speaker 2 (35:49):
Mean, it could be one of those things where the
Daily Planet is saying Lex Lutor did this, but then
that's was that libel when they when they say something, well.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
I don't think that was there before. I thought there
was though, uh.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
Because I mean it's a news station, so having a
having a ticker at the bottom would make sense.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
That's what they think.

Speaker 3 (36:16):
Okay, So if that was there, then, like people are
saying it potentially is putting it.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
I don't know, so.

Speaker 3 (36:22):
Great can yet, can you take a look for us
and see if that's there when you're watching a movie
that would be greatly appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
But but at the same time though, like people aren't
focusing on that. I don't care how many times.

Speaker 1 (36:33):
You can when you have when you can when you
have the digital version.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
Sure, but like if you want to see the movie,
unless you're seeing it multiple times in theaters, like I
saw it twice in theaters. I didn't catch that the
second time.

Speaker 3 (36:45):
I couldn't catch all the mirror the people in the
holl of Justice me rible.

Speaker 1 (36:48):
When I saw it barely solid too, I thought.

Speaker 2 (36:50):
Yeah, I noticed it the second time, but I didn't
recognize I didn't even see it like enough to see
anybody the second time.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
So yeah, DC, this is one of the things we
were curious about, and that was the Dynamic Duo DC movie. So,
according to new information post on DC dot com, the
Animate Dynamic Duo may actually be part of DC You
Can after all, so this is what will this is included.

(37:22):
Dynamic Duo has appeared to do blog posts on official
DC website listing every DCU project currently in production. While
its appearance on the list may seem inocuous, the list
specifically calls it the article. It's called it that the
article did not include DC Studio productions that aren't sit
within the same universe as the same DC universe. So
that's just a quick snaps out of everything currently in production.

(37:43):
And one of the things of note that we didn't
include DC Studios productions that aren't sit within the shared
universe like Matt Reeves twenty twenty sequel The Batman or
the animated series Star Fire and My Adventures with Green Lantern.
So apparently Dynamic Duo is going to be a DCU,
which will.

Speaker 1 (37:58):
Make well, you'll have other Robbins as Cannon.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
Then i'd say Daynam mcdoo was Nightwing in Red Hood, right.

Speaker 1 (38:05):
Yeah, yeah, okay, So I'll be interesting to see how
that goes.

Speaker 3 (38:09):
And we know Damien is is Batman's robbin.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
I'm pretty sure braving the Bold, I mean that's both
that's both good and bad one because that means Batman
has been doing this for a lot longer than then
anybody has known. Uh two he's had How old are

(38:36):
Dick and Jason? Three? Where the heck are Tim and Steph?
But that's a whole different thing. But yeah, oh yeah,
Greg showed me his cosplay for Red Hood. Looks sick
as head.

Speaker 3 (38:51):
I saw the pictures of it come up on my Facebook.
I think, Greg, they look really good. And you've been
uh well as they gathering the materials for that, are
pondering that for I think, as long as I've known,
you pretty close to that thinking about doing that. And
I will agree with Joe when he said you nailed it.

Speaker 1 (39:13):
It was. It was pretty cood.

Speaker 2 (39:14):
Also, Greg, if you have if you don't know, there
was a new Red Hood series. It's him and it's
him and Huntress. I think that starts up. Comic series
starts up soon.

Speaker 1 (39:25):
I think so this month and next month.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
So so there's a couple of things we have here, Uh, Joe,
we got some non canon.

Speaker 1 (39:34):
The three upcoming projects that are not set in the DCU.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
Well, obviously we know the Batman part once start, so yeah,
they were. I alluded to them star Fire and My
Ventures but Green Lantern, so both of those are on
your own. I'm assuming My Adventure but Green Lantern is
set in the same universe as My Adventure but Superman,
but right, I mean, I'll wait for that to be
confirmed before I go assuming anything.

Speaker 1 (39:56):
It's just it's nice. I'm excited.

Speaker 3 (39:58):
I'm glad they're having nine dc U stuff as well,
just to mix it up a little bit.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
Which do we real quick? I mean, since we haven't
My Adventures with green Lander, do we know? Is did
Harley Quinn get another season?

Speaker 1 (40:12):
I have no idea. I don't think so as of that,
But I could be wrong about that.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
Okay, I mean, because I loved the show, but I
know the way it ended, just like all right, it's over.

Speaker 1 (40:24):
Yeah, it was very I don't.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
Want to say lack luster, but just kind of like
all right, it's aroun Yeah, but that's kind of how
that show's been for the last couple of seasons anyway.

Speaker 1 (40:34):
Actually, I don't think. Yeah, I don't think. I don't know,
we don't know as of that. I don't think all right, sorry,
so we have some more information by Adventures with Superman
by Aventurema Green Lantern. Sorry, just stuff in that.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
Sorry.

Speaker 3 (40:51):
Character description of Jessicas state she will be forteen to
fifteen in the series, who had a normal upbringing, playing softball,
hanging out with her friends Kyle and Nicky until everyone
right her hit.

Speaker 1 (41:00):
Puberty and she faces bullying.

Speaker 3 (41:02):
The series picks up when Jessica begins high school and
the scribed as chronically anxious, a trait that is core
to her comic counterpart, and then sources tell the next
point of view is that Kyle and Nicki are conferring
to be Kyle Rayner and Nicki Jones, respectively. Other characters
confirmed to appear Alex DeWitt and Killowog. Details and the
direction of Coyle's character are currently under rasped, but he

(41:23):
will serve as the love interest to Jessica. The series
will be set in Coast City and the students will
be attending Hal Jordan High School. The status of hal
Jordan at the universe is currently unknown. Similar to My
Adventure to Superman's Sailor muon s transformation, the influence will
carry over to this series, so I'm assuming they're in
that kind of thing, with Jessica supporting a Sailor Moon
inspired costume. Green lanterns in this iteration in describes peacekeeping

(41:45):
warrior monks rather than cops, similar to the Green Lantern
who appeared in My Adventures with Superman and Then Nicky
is described as an over confident at goth high schooler
who doesn't care for the approval of others. Nicki is
Jessica's lifeline, best friend and protector of her.

Speaker 1 (42:00):
Sometimes overly protective.

Speaker 3 (42:01):
Nikki is likely adaptation of nick Nicki Jones from the comics,
who becomes the New Jade as part of Lake Luser's
Infinity inc.

Speaker 1 (42:08):
Nicki Jones first appeared.

Speaker 3 (42:10):
In fifty fifty two New fifty two number twenty nine
in two thousand and seven or fifty two No Sorry
even fifty two number twenty nine in two thousand and seven,
to created by Jeff Johns, Grant Morrison, Greg rock On,
mart Wade, Keith Griffin, and Chris Batista, and then Alex
Twitt is described the popular girl from school. She's a
softball star and daughter of a politician. Alex first appeared
in Green Lantern nineteen ninety number forty eight and ninet

(42:32):
ninety four. It was created by Roan Marts and Bill Winningham.
She's known in comics as Kyle Rainer's first love interest
in the victim of the Miss Fridging issue, where she's
bally murderer by a major force and yeah, oh, I'm
not going to kill a ways kill him man. We
don't really need to describe him. So yeah, I'm excited
for this, Joe. I hope it's tied to the.

Speaker 1 (42:51):
Same universe as my adventures with Superman.

Speaker 3 (42:54):
Agreed not yet, Iggy, because I want to check out
Particulate one more time into but it was because it's
not going anywhere from here yet, so.

Speaker 2 (43:04):
Uh yeah, and I'm gonna wait till Blu Ray. I'm
just gonna buy the Blu Ray with digital if it
comes out that way now.

Speaker 3 (43:10):
If I have to buy it to get that one
hour thing, uh the DC down of the DC, I
will do it.

Speaker 1 (43:16):
But we'll see if we cross that bridge.

Speaker 2 (43:19):
Did you buy it?

Speaker 3 (43:20):
Iggy and Official DC STUDIOSI started filming The Batman Part
two in spring of twenty twenty six via Warner Brothers
Discovery and one final thing to go with that, Joe
Kristen Malatty maybe set to reprise her role as Sophia
Felcone in The Batman Part two. This is a rumor
from uh uh, A new rumor is just from Gillian Blum,

(43:44):
So a new episode of Hot Mic Industry.

Speaker 1 (43:47):
Oh no, never mind, it's Jeff.

Speaker 3 (43:49):
If Jeff Snyder disregarded that entire thing, that actually is funny.

Speaker 1 (43:53):
Because it brings me up.

Speaker 3 (43:54):
He there's a video going around with him crying about gun,
basically putting that all the stuff he been saying that
DC is not true, which it hasn't been. So he
was like, I'll ruin your universe gone. I was like,
oh my god, this guy needs to be wedgy and
hanging up on a hole somewhere.

Speaker 2 (44:09):
I mean, you're saying all this stuff and then when
the guy who's running the universe comes out and tells
you you're wrong. I'm gonna trust the guy who's running
the universe and not the guy who's just spouting off nonsense.

Speaker 1 (44:23):
Yeah. So that was that remembered by him. So I'm
shaman DC Direct for putting that as a story too.
So you know, there we go.

Speaker 3 (44:30):
We get a little taste of the the way scoopers
and sites have become a little bit too. So we're
excited Peacemaker starts next week. We'll be back to talking
about a new Peacemaker. We'll catch up on the Smile
Bell ritual recats because Tackvill is back.

Speaker 2 (44:47):
Now back next week.

Speaker 1 (44:48):
Yeah, no, back since last week.

Speaker 2 (44:51):
So yeah, did you put it on?

Speaker 1 (44:53):
Thing? I forgot? I'll about it, Joe, to be honest
with me, and I watched tack Ville this week too,
so that's rough for me. It's not great. Told me
I forgot all doubt it. Jo always been a little
bit crazy.

Speaker 2 (45:03):
