animated mini series to talk about tonight, and and we've got.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
A lot of set leaks to talk about.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
Man, you know, Marvel, you may have not released this,
but you didn't necessarily try to hide anything with it,
and you're not necessarily trying to strike anyone down. So
I'm thinking that you know, mung would control call this
a controlled.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Leak at that point.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Yes, I think that they are very much aware that
there are people sitting they're on set with their telescopic
lens and they are not doing anything to stop it.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
So we've got Wakanda excuse me, eyes of Willknda to
talk about. All four episodes of the mini series drop
on last Friday, and then we're gonna talk about all
these lovely the you know, the announcement video or our
first eyes in the suit many then looks at the suit,
some HD photos, and our first full look at John

(01:30):
Burnhal in his full Punisher garb for the Punisher Special.
So we've got we've got a lot. We've got a
lot of good stuff to talk about tonight. So how
has been your week, David?

Speaker 4 (01:40):
My week has been busy, but not bad. I go
in tomorrow to see if I'm going to have surgery
on my right arm or not. That's not going to
stop me from being a part of the show. That
just means that you might be seeing me with the
sling on for a couple of vacations and doing all
of my time being with my left hand like I

(02:01):
normally do when I'm at work, because he does it.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
For you, you, the people, because he loves and cares about you.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
So other than that, had my oldest kid got picked
up his schedule in his packet for sixth grade. And
now I'm feeling old. So I went and got a
haircut so I didn't see as many grays.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Yeah, I got I got my fresh cut last Friday.
You know, we welcome back staff this week. Lots of
exciting times to see everyone, and had open house tonight
for my school, then went to my kid's open house.
So it's been I'm very tired and school starts Monday,

(02:41):
so but it's been.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Yeah, it's been a good week.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
But yeah, so let us since we've got a kind
of a chonky show to talk about it, since we've
got to talk about four episodes and all these set
photos and then continue on. We got I've got some
interesting factor fictions for you. Wait wait, yeah, and we
got some good listener questions, So let us before we
get into that, let's go through all the network plugs
out of the way. We are part of the Gee
Cultimate Alliance Network with six shows covering the wide range

(03:06):
of geek and nerdom. To check out the full schedule,
check out the show notes blown subscribe to the Gee
Cultimate Alliance Network on Twitter at guapod Networks you know
when all the shows drop. We also have a Patreon,
so if you want to throw a couple of shekels
our away, we've got two tiers, our dollar tiers, our
tip chart to say hey, you think we're doing a
good job here, and then we've got our five dollar
tier with ad free episodes, early access episodes, and Patreon

(03:27):
exclusive shows, including two shows we've got from Marvel Alliance.
We've got we can watch this all day, the Marvel
Alliance Infinity Saga MCU rewatch, where we watched all the
movies in the Infinity Saga and chronological order and gave
our thoughts and feelings about it. And then and then
we have Tales from the House of X where we
rewatched our favorite movies from the fox ERAFX men. And

(03:50):
we are in the middle of the Baxter broadcast the
Fantastic Four retro film reviews. We've got two shows out
of two episodes that have dropped on the Patreon feeds,
Fast four, the Unreleas nineteen ninety four film from Roger Corman,
and then Fantastic four from two thousand and five. And
we've already, as we said, recorded the Fantastic four Rise
a Silver Surcer Surfer from two thousand and seven that

(04:12):
will drop on August twenty fifth, So we got a
few weeks to wait for that on Patrons. And then
as I keep on splugging, fan for Stick is coming,
It is coming, It'll happen, It's going to happen.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
What two weeks, David, we record that.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
Yep, and I am excited to hear your raw visceral reactions.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
To say you said you're excited to see this movie.
This might be there, There will definitely be you know,
I'm looking forward in the sense of man, how how
many different ways can you know? I say, Man, I'm
so happy I waited this long. But yes, we've also

(04:53):
got the DC Alliance guys doing their DC films through
the years, got Joe doing his Multiverse minutes with his
Disney Dives in the first fifteenth every month dropping a
new episode of his animated journey through the Disney Classics
in chronological order. And we want to thank our patrons.
If we can't do this, is that your support. But
if you're not a member of our patreon, go to
www dot patreon dot com. Back to Last Gua Network

(05:15):
so you get that all the lovely shows and last
but certainly not least I would say are the show
is sponsored by Organic price Books. However, we are no
longer sponsored by our Chronic price Books. Organic price Books
has gone through a rebranding. We now welcome panel Bound Comics. Yes,

(05:38):
Organic price Books have decided to change their name. If
you've been paying attention lately. In the last about last
six months or so, we've been working with a lot
of times behind the scenes of getting a lot of
exclusive connections with publishers for exclusive covers, exclusive.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Deals, things like that.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
So the Organic Price Book's name from JP was kind
of a placehol for many years. It just kind of worked.
And when you got lots of people saying, hey, do
you sell health books? No, no, no, no, so we
want to we wanted to kind of rebrand at that point,
so JP came up with the new name, Panel Bound Comics.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Our codes still work.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
You can use the code Marvel Gua at checkout to
get two dollars off every single order. I already could
use the code Marvel Gua sit to get five percent
off when you order four or more books together, but
it's a lot sleeker. The web page is really great.
My buddy Jake from Braving the Boys is ours is
their marketing manager and he's done a really.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Solid job with this site. So take a look at it,
take go to it. It's it.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
We're very very proud of it at that point, and
use those codes because it lets them know that you
are listening to this show. So check out Panel Bound
Comics formally OPB. So, so yeah, it's been a they
premiered that site, went live with the rebranding on Sun.
So very excited about it. A lot of positive stuff

(07:03):
coming from that. But we also we need to promote
something Saturday. But Saturday, ten am Pacific Standard time, we
celebrate geek Versus ten year anniversary. So there will be
streaming for at least ten hours. I say at least
because if you're a member of the Patreon or if

(07:23):
you want to be a member of the Patreon, the
money you pledge into the Patreon will increase the time
they spent on it, including stretch goals for if they
increase it to a certain amount. So I believe if
you check out the socials, they've kind of premiered exactly
what has what each kind of stretch goal is. So
but they've got, you know, we've got some tag team
matches going on, We've got some trivia with the patrons,

(07:47):
They've got a lot of different stuff for that. So
again we want to celebrate geek first because without Geek First,
you get cultimate Aligance network wouldn't exist. So congratulations guys
over at Geek versus if you were happy to be
a part of the geek First family, and we want
to thank you again for keeping us around all these years.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
Yeah, they've been doing a bang up job for the
last ten years. I'm excited about some of the stuff
that they've got going on, and they've released some of
the lineup already of what they have planned plus Morgan.
It all depends on what goes on with the patreons,
how people want to support and push them further. And
I'm excited to see exactly how this looks.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
So all right, we'll check that out Saturday, this Saturday,
ten am Pacific Standard time. So excited to watch that.
I'll probably be able to check out a couple of
the feeds at that point. So all right, So main
topic of today is we are breaking down the four
episodes of Eyes of Wakanda. So all four episodes dropped

(08:53):
on last Friday. It's a mini series brought to you
by Obviously executive produced by Ryan Kogler. Let's talk about
kind of the episodes of the hole. So what did
you think of Ayes of Wakanda.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
Every episode was visually stunning. I think that there were
some moments in a lot of the episodes where I
was legitimately wowed at some of the things that they
put off. The animation choreography in these fight scenes, especially
in episode three, for sure, is just spot on. And

(09:31):
the way that they ended this series tying it all together,
plus tying.

Speaker 5 (09:37):
The MCU as a whole.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
I'm just I loved that little nod from the moment
where they kind of start mentioning it and then you
get the final thing, which we'll talk about more in depth.
I was just like, I love everything about this. Again,
it's not the best animated project that we've seen from Marvel,
certainly nowhere near the worst it was, but it's good.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
It's fun.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
And the fact that it's four episodes and they're roughly
they're slated that it says that they're about twenty five
minutes a piece, it's more like about nineteen minutes apiece
for each, so you can consume.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
All of this and one day easily and just enjoy.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
I would agree agree with you wholeheartedly on the animation style.
I've seen it used in different ways, but this has
done very well. The character mock ups, the voice cast
was great, and you know what's great about this. You know,
one can easily call this an anthology because each episode
necessarily is its.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Own kind of little bottle.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
However, there are little winks and nods and continuations from
the previous one, and I like that.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
I think that's interesting. And when the idea of.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
You know, looking at the history of a civilization that's
that is one is that the most advanced of the
world that's been hidden all these years, will always think
like how did they exist? Like how did they contained themselves?
How did this stop? These secrets can get out? So
that I was like this moments like where were they
in this case? Like we've seen episodes on the Battle

(11:08):
of the Trojan War in the Fall of Troy, and
you know, we get different things of you know, different
areas of the world that they happened to kind of
go into. So and then the big kind of payoff
in the sense of, oh, so that's how and the
reason this happened. And one could call it that ret
conning and things like that, Well it's it's not necessarily

(11:31):
calling a retcon it's putting an explanation on there to
to why could happen? And one could say, well, that's
kind of a stretch I was like, welcome to comics.
It's you know, it does not take it too seriously now.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
I looked at it more as world expansion rather than
reht conning, because I mean, the where it led that
still happens, but you're you're giving an expanded Lord context,
how we got this, why it is so important?

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Yep, And it puts it also in a kind of
an interesting new light. I was hoping. I wouldn't say hoping,
but I was. I was kind of pining when we
get to that fourth episode, they were gonna do something,
do something I was kind of excited for.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
It didn't go in that direction, and I'm not disappointed
by it.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
I think I'm only disappointed that they didn't do an
episode on really far flung future stuff.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
So but we'll talk about that then.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
So but yeah, we let us if you have not watched,
we'll take our first ad break now so that way
we can kind of get through the episodes a little quick.
So if you have not seen as a Konda, stop
watch them, come on back or watch episode by episodes
you join us, but we're gonna take our first ad break,
so you know, listeners, these ads help keep the lights
on the gee, Ultimate Alliance Network.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
We don't get to choose what ads come on. Give.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
It can be a bit loud to give that three
account before they come on three two one. We'll be
right back and we are back, all right. So the
first episode into the Lines Dead, Now, this was a
very interesting episode and I'm, you know, still struggle in
my mind how I ranked these, But this was a
heck of an episode because of what it was looking

(13:07):
at and how it was dealing with it. Yet kind
of two kind of what looks at two competing stories
in the sense that they come crashing together, and we're
in Crete in the year twelve sixty BC. The peaceful
island that they're looking at is quickly overtaken by raiders
led by men wearing a Line mask and wielding technology
with a familiar purple glow. The Line as soldiers lay

(13:30):
waste to the warriors of Crete and bring the people
on board their ships. Meanwhile, we see one of the
women of Crete trying to get a better look before
she is also taken by the Lion soldiers on one
of the ships. The Line soldiers try to welcome their
captive audience to join, you know, to join the Line
as people. One of the men resist and it's brought

(13:51):
into a cell to be branded and tortured. The mystery
woman from the earlier cowers before being selected by guard
to be brought to that same cell inside, though she
stands strong and refused to give herself to the line,
So that that's an interesting kind of beginning. So we
know either they've stolen Wakanda tech or they're from Wakanda.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
Yeah, and I this was a great kickoff to this
and everything about the line, his imposing nature and the
moments when he spoke, like that voice like coming out
of there like really got me. I had to run
to IMDb to look who it was, and it was
Chris Williams, who DC fans will know as Black Lightning,

(14:38):
and I was just like, oh man, But just the
gravity in it, and I liked, especially with this episode
touching on and it is touched on in both Black
Panther films that once people get outside of Wakanda, they
see not only Wakanda but the world itself in a

(14:58):
different view, and that that's kind of what happens with
the line, Like he gets out there and he starts seeing, Okay,
this is what the world has to offer. Some are
corrupted by it, some become more in love with the
way that home is. Okay, we don't have the corruption
and the politics that go on in everyday society.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
I like our home.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
I like the fact that we take care of our
people and others are like man, there's so much freedom
here in that, and we are.

Speaker 5 (15:24):
So advanced and we should be leading and ruling.

Speaker 4 (15:27):
And it's I love just everything that he brought to
this character and that commanding presence of the lion.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
So then we flash back to six weeks earlier and
Wakanda Noni of the Merchant tribe, the woman we saw
in Creep, is someoneed by a Kaya and the leader
of the Door Malaje. It's revealed that Noni is a
former Dora, but she was never very good at following orders,
and a Kaya explains that a former member of the
real gu arts dol Wakanda technology and deserted the Wakanda

(15:59):
and is now building his own kingdom. And she says
that they have sent soldiers after him, but every single
one of them they want was trained by the line
and none of them ever turned because none was expelled
from the Dora and never met the line. He would
never see or coming. NOI reluctantly accepts the task of
bringing the line back to Paknda. And the thing is,

(16:19):
if she is successful, she gets to rejoin the Dora.
Now I kind of thought that was interesting just because
like she was passed out because she wasn't following orders.
It's interesting just because even in this little bit I say,
does she really want to come back? You know, it
just never struck me, even in this short amount of times,
like I think you're misunderstanding in the sense of like

(16:42):
what she's doing. I get where they're coming from, but
like offering her the chance to join the Dora, when
she said yeah, yeah, I'll do it, it just didn't
seem like she was that excited to But nor was
she a prisoner, so they weren't really holding anything over
her either.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
Yeah, it did give this feeling that Wakanda and the
people in charge will kind of view their structure a
lot more regal and of sending then anyone else would.
So they looked at this as we're doing you a favor,
like you didn't make it on your own, but we're
giving you a chance to join our incredible ranks that

(17:20):
you couldn't do on your own. You just have to
complete this one test while you know. If I'm NONI
I'm like, yeah, I didn't do it, not because I
wasn't good enough, just like your style and my style
just don't work together.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Yeah. And so.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
Back on the ship, Nony makes short work of the
guard's big surprise, again trained by the Dora, who put
her in a cell, but they refuse to give her
any information and they give her Nondy gives her weapons
to the other prisoners and makes her way outside. She
sees the line's fleet of ships as they link themselves together,
forming a sort of city on the sea. Non He

(18:00):
sneaks past the several guards before eventually working her way
into a room where some of the women are captured
on crete are being given their orders. A woman tries
to fight back, but one of the Lion's top soldiers
threatens her. Nonne intervenes and stops the soldier, but the
alarm is sounded in a huge fight begins. Now I
say this is where this series does so well, and

(18:22):
the choreography and the beautiful capturing of the pretty much
every single one in the episode that has a fight sequence,
It is done so well and so beautifully.

Speaker 5 (18:34):
Yeah it's again.

Speaker 4 (18:37):
They the animation, the choreography with this is chess amazing.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
M so as Nony gives chase. At that point, she
eventually takes that lion's top guards. The lion gears up
for his own fight. I love the kind of like
you know, kind of the a llah batman putting on
the keeping cow. At that point, the Lion sees only
kills his last soldiers and welcomes her up to his chamber.

(19:03):
He explains to her that she is the first Wakandan
to come for him or is made as far as
she did, that he did not train himself. He tries
to explain that her trys to explaining to her that
the world outside of Wakanda is free and that he
learned that when he was the first sent out by
sent out Bible Conda as one of the haut Zazi

(19:26):
or the war Dogs. We have seen the war Dogs
and the comics and the MCU and with Hunter and
Nikiya are the two most significant examples we've seen. Before
he offers her a place in his kingdom free, a
free of the path set for her by the Wakanda
no names. Refuses, and a huge fight ensues this is
rather interesting because as soon as I have started hearing

(19:49):
this said, hmm.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
This is this is kill Manger.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
This is kill Manger saying except for this is kill Monger,
but without you know, the key part of it being
we need to spread this technology to the world. You know,
he's looking at he considers being in Wakanda and following
the things being bound in a new type of he

(20:14):
I guarantee you would say enslaved at that point. It's
because he calls use the word it's free, it's free free,
So he feels bound by Waconda of going out there
is freedom, So he's missing a key part of what
makes killmong or a a more seductive antagonist.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
Yeah, he makes a quote where he says that they
take a risk when they send people like you and
me out into the world. They see it for what
it is, and that is just again that's encapsulating the whole.
You know, Wakanda is more than what we've been brought
up to be and there's more to offer out there,

(20:52):
and that just shows his whole mindset. So why he asks,
why do you follow the path that's been set out
for you? Like I free these people from their suffering.
Look what I have become on my own outside of
will conduct and you're coming off nothing, nothing's there. Yeah,
you could be this too, Like we could grow an

(21:14):
empire if we just get rid of the old ways.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
And very lengthy fight, very cool fight, will Condon technology,
vibranium all nine yards, it's all over the place.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
Very well.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
I love, I love, especially when you have you know,
someone like Nony's trained by the Dora, how fluent, how
elegant she is, her fighting style and the line Trude's
name is brute force, you know, so it's always nice
thing who will win in a fight, brute force or
elegant speed. In this case, Nony is able to overcome it,

(21:48):
you know, despite a couple of close calls and so,
and she does use the technology against him. So the
Line eventually sits back in his room, bleeding from this
chest and start. It's a vibranium powered explosion in an
effort to eliminate both himself and Nony. She escapes just
in time, leaping leaving from a ship into the ocean,

(22:10):
and she does fail to retrieve the lines tech. As
I watches it fall to the bottom of the ocean,
she does however, manage to obtain his mask.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
Now, this is.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
Definitely not the same thing that is found in the
fourth episodes. I think this is just one of those things.
I just I didn't It didn't look exactly the same.
It didn't look like the acts.

Speaker 5 (22:33):
No, it didn't.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
It look like Okay, they do references in episode four,
but just more as an anchor point to what's going on.
But it doesn't have the significance because she lost the
artifact that she was going for. Yes, she stopped the lion,
but that artifact sank to the bottom.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
Yeah, so back of a conda, Noni tells Akeya that
she failed because she did not bring the line home
or recover. Still in tech Okeya informs her that she
eliminated the threat against Wakanda and this was a test
for and she said she's passed it to be back
with the door. And she's like, no, you said, you

(23:16):
said it yourself. I don't like following the rules, but
I find a new place instead. She wished to become
a war dog.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
Now.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
Also forgot to mention during the fight she did lose
her eye or at least severely damaged dry against the
fight with the lion, but I definitely didn't think the
line was a bad villain. It was just again I
just got kill Monger vibes, which will I think with
the point.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
But even as you brought up earlier, that is the fear.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
Of sending out people in the Wakanda, as they say,
as a war dog or otherwise that they become attempted
from the outside world in either trying to not come
back or bring the corruption back into a conda. And
I kind of equated to, you know, not exactly the same,
but you know, when you have the omission rum Springer,

(24:06):
you know very you know in the sense of they're
not going out trying to do espionage or military takeovers
or things like that, but you know, the idea of
going out into the real world to see exactly what
the real world offers outside of your bubble, and you
have a choice whether to come back and go back
to the waves or never return.

Speaker 5 (24:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
So, and I guess that, like he says, that's that's
a risk that they take when sending people out there,
is how many are going to continue their mission and
do things for how many are going to get a
taste of life while trying to compete their mission and
this becomes their new normal.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
So I thought strong introduction explores a time and story
that's new to you know, anyone from Marvel, including us
in the sense of like seeing this time period. It
ties just enough back to the lor Vicatta to feel
like it was a piece of a larger story, and
that combined with a unique art style and visually impressive

(25:10):
by action sequences, I think was a great way to
kind of open up an episode. It was I think
it was. It was a good episode of It wasn't
an amazing first episode, but it was a very good
first episode setting up what this series is going to
be about.

Speaker 4 (25:26):
Yeah, great, good introduction, good setting the tone, setting the action,
having the beautiful moments, I mean the fight, the choreography
of the fight, like when they go up on the
the hanging curtains and they're doing all the acrobatics. Again,
there this is a here's where we're going, here's the

(25:47):
power of our animation, and you get It's a good
set up episode that is very visually stunning. Yep.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
So Episode two is entitled Legends and Lies. So this
opens on the Trojan War with a group of Greek
soldiers attacking Troy Odysseus explains to one of the soldiers
that his plan is to create a distraction at the
city's front gate, while Achilles leads another team over the
wall and once inside, Achilles leaps into action while Memnon Memnon, Yeah, Memnon,

(26:23):
who appears to be a close friend of Achilles, looks
through a telescope with a purple glows so that's coming
from Conda. After he spots a necklace around his neck
of the Helen of Troy, he says for himself formal Conda,
because it appears this episode is going to be focusing
on the robo Conda played in the in the Trojan
War and what the his mission is to acquire that necklace.

(26:46):
So Achilles and Memnon and their men are attacked by
the children guards and Odysseus calls for retreats.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
So they were able to get over the wall.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
They almost came close, However, the rashness at that point
they were having to retreat and so Achilles and men
had a reluctantly retreat, but not before men Non saves Achilles,
taking an arrow in the hand in the process, hinting
at the possibility of achilles downfall. That leads to it
so the Manuscape, despite Achilles being very upset about that.

(27:17):
So what do you feel about that opening and kind
of establishing it in even more of an historical context.

Speaker 4 (27:23):
It was a cool opening, some cool like wartime fight scenes.
I like this setup of Okay, we're getting the expansion
of you know, the lore of Troy and Odysseus and
things like that, so we're getting more a different look
of the Trojan war. And there were some times with

(27:44):
Achilles where arrows would come at him and they would
keep cutting to his feet and you would see the
arrow's land around his feet, and I was like, okay,
I see what you're doing here with the foreshadow and go,
this is how you take out Achilles per you know,
the legend of him. But yeah, it was a good,

(28:06):
good opening, good introduction to Memnon and Achilles, who are
our main two focus of this episode.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
So and I love it.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
The next sequence they kind of get this kind of
like moment where Rose by the fire. Yeah Rose exactly.
He uses a spray to clearly laced with vibranium to
heal his hand. You know, he's not going to advertise
that because later he sits with Achilles and they talk
about the war. Mennon reveals that he was a wanderer

(28:40):
and when he joined Achilles, cause though we know what
he's really been, he's really a war dog. Their conversation
is interrupted by Pharaoh, who warns Achilles not to trust
an outsider like Mennon, posing that he might be as
Trojan spy. Achilles dismiss his theory. He's not a nono
Trojan by he has nothing wanting to do with Trojan.

(29:02):
Then Troy so Odysseus comes in and proposes that they
get the Trosan to invite them in by presenting him
with the gift. And yes, we are really getting a
marvel retelling of the Trojan Horse, so go ahead.

Speaker 4 (29:18):
As much as I love the little nod to the
Trojan Horse, my favorite scene actually comes right after this,
where we get the I would say, the now first
mc U canon version of texting.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Yeah, exactly. So he sneaks away from the conversation. Menon
sneaks away and sends a message with this very interesting
tech and you're wondering, where's how's, where's how's is getting
it somewhere?

Speaker 2 (29:41):
But apparently it is.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
He informs him that he's found the artifact he's after
and we'll have it soon. Reply it tells them to return,
don't to not return without it, and he simply answers
for Wakanda. So the next day, Achilles and Mennon watched
the Trojan horses being built. They discuss the eventual peace
that will come after. Achilles tells Mennon that he will
be welcoming Greece after the war, and he offers a

(30:04):
him a necklace his mother gave to him, which Mennon
reluctantly accepts because Mennon knows he achieves his mission goal,
he ain't coming back.

Speaker 4 (30:14):
Yeah, it's done for him. He's got a goal, he's
gonna do it and he's out after that.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
So that night, Achilles, Mennon, and a group of soldiers
are welcomed in the gate to Troy, hiding out in
the Trojan Horse. Very tight quarters in there, and later
they sneak on attack, wiping out the unsuspecting soldiers one
by one. Eventually, though, one manages to sound the alarm
and the huge fight begins. But as Achilles is swarmed

(30:41):
by soldiers, he calls for Mennon, but he sees him
running away to carry out his own missions, so that's
not gonna make him that happy. Mennon climbs his way
out of the city, where he confronts Helen in Paris.
He takes her necklace, takes the necklace from Helen, saying
that he spent nine years away from his home trying
to recover. He then helps Helen in Paris escape right

(31:02):
as Achilles arrives. Achilles accuses him being the Trojan spy,
because yeah, that's not a good look at that point,
and Mennon pleads with him, but he refused to tell
about the Wakanda's because Achilles says, you've been operating, you know,
with some kind of secret mission. He won't admit why,
and Achilles just gets angry and the two have a huge,

(31:24):
slobberd knocker of a fight.

Speaker 4 (31:26):
Yeah, and you've got Achilles going toe to toe, but
Mendum's got a little bit of a of an advantage
because he's got that Wakanda tech with him, so he's
he's still on them hands with that Wakandan gauntlet.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
Yeah, and it was interesting in the sense of how
you know, I mean, Achilles was thought of as the
best fighter of his generation, his age, so but still
it was still impressive for him to try to go
toe to toe with Mennon, who looks very physically imposing.

Speaker 4 (31:55):
Yeah, Mennium is a big guy. And then you saw
a lot of good sword play with Achilles, the way
that he was handling his weapon and holding his own
I mean, it was some good stuff. If Memnon hadn't
had that vibranium gauntlet on his arm, then I don't
know if he would have been able to stack toe
to toe because at one point he got set on

(32:17):
fire and Achilles is steel throwing those hands.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (32:21):
So Mennon drops the necklace and Achilles strikes it, releasing
a surge of purple energy. Achilles new goals to claim
that power for griefs, and Mennon reveals moral Conda technology
in his weapon, and they fight on. Mennon eventually wins
the fight by slicing achilles achilles tendon. Fittingly, Achilles continues
to try to fight, even though Mennon is forced to

(32:42):
kill his friend, because remember the message, it said, get
this done, no matter the cost, and so even back then,
Mennon knew this was possibly a real possibility. So he
lays them down in the little pool of water puts
the coins over for the ferrymen, and then we are
back in Wakanda six months later and we see Menn

(33:04):
finally get back home. We learned that his real name
is Bakai and that Noni much older, and we know
it's Nondy because of the eye patch. Is is now
the director of the War Dogs, and Bakai confesses that
even though he is finally home, he has never felt

(33:24):
more alone. Expressing regret for killing Achilles, he pleades Noni
to be sent back out in the field.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
She grants him as her wish, but.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
Warns that he must be certain that what he is
searching for. But Kai closes his fist around the necklace
given to him by Achilles as the episodes comes to
a close. So what do you think about that revelation
with Noni? I mean, you know, see her in your
younger ears. Now she's in charge of the war Dogs.

Speaker 4 (33:52):
Yeah, I wasn't expecting that, but I'm guessing that you
know what we see from episode four, mate, now going
back makes it seem like, Okay, she said she still
had a mission to do and she wanted to go
back out in the world.

Speaker 5 (34:05):
So she went out.

Speaker 4 (34:06):
She did her thing, She probably went back for that
lost artifact that was in the water, came back home
a hero, and then took her place within the dermalage
and rose up the ranks.

Speaker 5 (34:19):
And now she is the director.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
Yep, director of the ward Dogs. You know, gotta go
for it. So yeah, good episode all in all. All right,
So heading into episode three, Lost and Found, So what
do you think about? This episode kind of takes more
of a humorous tone to it.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
This episode has some of the funniest moments of this
four part series, but also, in my opinion, the best
fight scene of this So I was very much enthralled.
I mean, we kind of got spoiled on what a
version of what character would be making an appearance, and

(34:59):
they didn't.

Speaker 5 (34:59):
Not disappointment it came to the fight because of that.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (35:03):
So the episode opens in China and fourteen hundred and
eighty we see a blizzard hitting the beautiful mountaintop city.
Inside one of the buildings, we see a man sneak
out of the bed away from a woman who apparently
remains asleep. The man, whose name we learn is Basha,
sneaks into the temple and attempts to steal a piece
of vibranium from a dragon statue. Now again, we'll always

(35:26):
remember the war Dogs are meant to reacquire stolen vibranium
or will Condon tech, and it appears that Basha in
this episode is another war Dog, and when he fails
to remove the vibrantum, he decides to just take the
statue and try to pass it off that you know,
hiding it underneath his clothing. He does make an escape

(35:47):
despite guards trying to take him down, and he escapes
through a you know, buried in the snow Will Condon
ship and on his way home, he contacts cat An
Ebo of the war Dogs, who admits they thought he
was dead, but Ebo tells Basha that the city was
protected by great power and they assume the dragon curse

(36:10):
got him. Basha assures him that he is fine and
that the mission went off without any complications, you know,
just running away from you know, his pursuers.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
Right.

Speaker 4 (36:22):
Yeah, this was interesting. Two things stuck out with me.
And this was one of those Okay, you're gonna have
to not dive into deep and overthink things because the
first thing I thought was if he is playing a
lost wanderer who's wandered into this city. I mean he
is speaking some fluent Chinese and then no one is

(36:47):
noticing in the fourteen hundreds, this airship, this advanced technology,
just flying through the air. I mean to me, that
would freak people out.

Speaker 2 (36:58):
Yeah, you would think, but not here.

Speaker 1 (37:01):
So Basha returns to Wakanda, where he's greeted by Ebo,
who still feels like he is being given He's not
being given the whole story. Basha shrugs him off, and
Ebo scolds him for taking the whole statue and not
does a vibranium.

Speaker 2 (37:16):
I agree, it's kind of a waste, but again, couldn't
get it done.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
So they go together to meet with the High Councilman
Rakim to discuss his mission. Rakeem expresses regret that Basha
stole the whole statue and dismisses Ebo from the conversation. Meanwhile,
another war dog inspects Basha's ship and finds an abnormality.
When she inspects it, she is ambushed by someone or
something and pulled from the ship. So we have some

(37:45):
We have a stowaway there that is in Wakanda uninvited.
Nothing could possibly go wrong with that, right, Yeah?

Speaker 5 (37:53):
No, not at all.

Speaker 4 (37:54):
Just and again, you've got this advanced technology. You didn't
realize that a you have had something next on your ship.
It wasn't too heavy. Again, I wonder what the technology
was like at this point. And also from the person
who is inspecting the ship, you didn't call for backup
before he decided to approach the ship, just questions.

Speaker 1 (38:20):
So yeah, in a room full of artifacts, Basha inspects
the lions mass from the first episodes, so we get
the call back there.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
That's where Kim continues to scold him.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
They were apted by a call from someone informing Bosha
that there was an issue with the ship. After the
inspector is not responding, Basha runs off to investigate the situation.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
Ebo makes his.

Speaker 1 (38:39):
Way to Basha's ship, but he runs into a mysterious
person on the way.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
Who does he run into?

Speaker 4 (38:47):
And this is our nice look at the Immortal Iron Fist,
or a version of the Immortal Iron Fists, complete with
the yellow hood over the eye eyes, And yeah, it's
it's looking nice. It's got the the yellow and green
wrapped up in a kimono. You could tell again the

(39:08):
style of its dress is true to the fourteen hundreds
rather than it is of the Iron Fist that we
know of Danny Ran.

Speaker 5 (39:17):
But yeah, and this Iron Fist got got some.

Speaker 2 (39:19):
Hands, yes he does.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
He excuse me, she's got some She's got some uh,
And we do find out that it uh, the Iron
Fist in this one is the woman that we saw
in bed with Bosha, you know, and you and I
have been claiming for Colleen Wing Iron Fist show or
her taking officially the title. So this is kind of

(39:44):
you know, proof of concept.

Speaker 4 (39:46):
Right, yeah, for further closer to me Gan calling Wing
back in the NCU, let's let's do this.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
And so yeah, so there's some fights and suits with that.
So Even and Bosher run into each other, and Evil
scolds him for more so bringing a curse onto Wokanda,
and they start trying to talk together, and they see
the woman trying to explain what happens and Rakim. They
decide to work together to find the intruder themselves so
that they can keep themselves out of trouble. However, Ebo

(40:16):
triggers an alarm in the arsenal and to draw Rakeem's
soldiers watching guards there at a distraction. Meanwhile, Iron Fist
searches for the statue instead, Basha finds them and they
go to a brief fight before iron fish mask comes off,
and like I said, the revelation is that it is
Giorani who he was in who he was found sleeping

(40:37):
with in the episode earlier. And when Girani tells him
that she was there to take the statue back, he
argues that it was stolen from them because of the
vibranium and tells her his people won't let her leave alive,
but also let slip that the artifacts gallery is in
the that and she runs off to the statue. Basha
follows and they have a second great fight and Dorani

(41:00):
reaches the artifact gallery and blast her way using her powers.
And the Iron Fist is a title given to the
most skilled warrior of kun Loon and the mystical City.
That's more than likely they were probably in her adjacent
to and talking she it explains like how she got
the powers from getting and defeating the mythical Dragon on

(41:22):
top of being one of the most skilled martial artists
in the world. The Iron Fist is a granted mythical
energy that can be many ways. It can be used
in many ways though it's most typical for punching. You know,
I thought this the helmet for this was really cool.
It was a cool way to do it instead of
just a simple you know ye to rag.

Speaker 4 (41:42):
Yeah. I very much liked everything about drawing in this.
There was a line when Basha says, you know, this
was stolen from Wakndo over a thousand years ago, and
Grani responded back and says, and in those one thousand years,
this is become more important to us than it ever
has to you. And I was like, man, you you

(42:05):
don't realize that sometimes with these art pieces and artifacts
and things like that, what has become a symbol to someone.

Speaker 5 (42:13):
Or a piece to someone else.

Speaker 4 (42:15):
I also did like the comedic line when they were
arguing back and forth over who's seduced.

Speaker 1 (42:21):
To Yeah, but when they kind of understand and go
back and forth, like with the statue and this, that
and the other. Drhanni reached it for the statue, despite
Bosha and Ebo protesting as she charges her fist and
then gently removes the vibranium tongue from the statue because
that's all they wanted.

Speaker 2 (42:38):
She didn't want the vibrannium.

Speaker 1 (42:39):
She just wanted the statue back, and she gives it
to Basha and tells him all he had to do
was tell her the truth and she would have helped
him in the first place, which draws frustration from Ebo
because he's been always saying Bosha is to rash Basha
doesn't think through things, and this is the proof of it.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
So Bosha apologize is to.

Speaker 1 (42:56):
Both Drani and Ebo and to their soprise. They're interrupted
by Rakim, who asks them what happened to the gallery
because it's in pretty disarray, and Basha, after hiding Girani
and hint and hinting that Ebo just sell that what
he's been trying to fight lives to Rakim and it

(43:17):
was all a training extras advised by Ebo. He says
Ebo was the one in the mask and he took
on all the war dogs himself, and the lie works,
and Rakeem promotes Ebo before leaving. Basha lets Joe Ranni
out of the room. She's not too happy because why
would she be, and she snatches her masts back from Basha,
and Ebo offers a way for him to sneak Bactor

(43:39):
their ship or her ship a sneak off in the
episode comes to a close. So that's what we said, Well,
definitely humor, but the highlight is bringing in this new
iron fist.

Speaker 4 (43:51):
Yeah again, great great episode, great action sequences. Their fight
in the Hall of Artifacts was my favorite of this series.
And I do like Basha at the end, you know,
bigging up Evo to high counselman Rakim and trying to
get him a place in there for all the trouble

(44:12):
that he's gone through and recognizing that yeah, you know, Busha,
it's all of your actions have led to this point.
Evo's put himself at risk. Jurani is here because you're
too rash, Like you see Basha having a learning moment
and like it ties the episode together very nicely.

Speaker 2 (44:32):
Yeah so.

Speaker 1 (44:35):
But yeah, So the final episode of this series, the
Last Panther. So it begins in eighteen ninety six. So
what's going on in eighteen ninety six in Ethiopia when
we open.

Speaker 2 (44:44):
Up this episode?

Speaker 4 (44:46):
So this is a time when we are having a
real life rebellion, Like this was a point where in
real life they were turning away the Europeans and sorry,
the Italians against Ethiopia. And this was the first big
stand that an African country had taken to fight back

(45:13):
against colonization.

Speaker 5 (45:14):
So they use that as.

Speaker 4 (45:17):
A backdrop to see these two war dogs who are
in the middle of this conflict and on their mission
to once again regain a stolen item.

Speaker 1 (45:29):
So yeah, yeah, you define you get you know, wardog
Kuda and the Wilkandan Prince Tafari, and that's what they're
going after to find this artifact. And Tafari is I
think he said third in line for the throne.

Speaker 4 (45:45):
Yes, he is third and third in line, uh so
that there are two other brothers before him.

Speaker 1 (45:54):
Yeah, And he's shadowing, basically shadowing the war dog because
he wants to make him do something for himself and
make himself, not that he's pursuing to be the king,
but saying like I need something to call my own
that I'm good at.

Speaker 4 (46:06):
Yeah, And Tofari is shown as very very smart and
very very you know, has a lot of world knowledge.
So as him and could are talking, he is giving
him a history of everything that's going on and where
places have come from, and he's off at one point
there are bombs that stuff going on around him, and he's like,

(46:29):
can I offer you some historical context to this. This
comes from a place called Italy who's trying to expand
into Ethiopia. Like he's given a full history lesson here.

Speaker 2 (46:39):
It's like, yeah, I don't care about that.

Speaker 1 (46:41):
We just got to get the artifact, which they do
and basically escape with their lives, so.

Speaker 2 (46:50):
You know it.

Speaker 1 (46:50):
Kulda and Tafari argue in the vehicle that they're trying
to escape about being reckless and having a duty to
return home.

Speaker 2 (46:59):
With their families.

Speaker 1 (47:00):
Kuda explains the dangers of letting the outside world get
their hands on vibranium, and Tafari sees a figure open
behind them and he yells Kuda to stop, but he
is too late, and being launches the vehicle into the air,
and so they awakened to see Tafari, still unconscious in

(47:21):
a mystery being approached. The mystery or person is approaching
the vehicle being bearing panther claws.

Speaker 2 (47:30):
Interesting.

Speaker 1 (47:31):
Kuda tells the panther to stop, but eventually has to fight.
Tafari eventually joins the fight wielding an ax that he
just recovered. The panther lunges for the acts in Kudah
and Tafari get their upper hand before the panther pleads
with them in Wakandan. She removes her helmet and Kuda
says he's never seen her before, and she uses the

(47:53):
tech and uses her technology and showed them the visions
of the story that they're about to tell. So before
we get into that, that was an interesting thing that
you know, it wasn't some rogue thing. It's actually a
panther and we're gonna come to find out a panther
from the future.

Speaker 4 (48:13):
Yeah, we're getting a black Panther twenty ninety nine version
over here. That's that's what I first thought when she
appeared on screen. But I thought this was a cool scene.

Speaker 5 (48:25):
Again.

Speaker 4 (48:26):
I had my moment where I'm like, all right, this
is the eighteen hundreds. You're driving a very nice car
in the middle of the dead and no one. No
one is thinking, hey, this isn't right, as everyone is
on horseback and walking around as a full scale war
is going on between Ethiopia and the Italians, and you're

(48:48):
just driving through the woods in a car.

Speaker 2 (48:51):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (48:52):
And so the panther explained that she is five hundred
years in the future, from the future, and Coy cooty,
excuse me, Cooty, and to Fari, I'll see the ruins
of what was the Golden City, the capital of Wakanda.
In her time, Wilkanda never embraced the outside world. She
explains that the alien race noticed the Horde invaded Earth

(49:13):
without help from Wakanda. The outside word fell, and then
the Horde came for them, and Wilkanda could not hold
them back either. So the Horde is an alien race
had is actually from Marvel Comics. There, they act as
a hive mind and infects celestials to either kill or
corrupt them. They've also battled the Avengers and the Eternals
on multiple occasions. The Panther also explains that her futuristic

(49:38):
Walkanda was no match for the Horde without the help
of the outside world. She says that she used her
technology to jump back in time to find a moment
where they could change that would alter the timeline, in
the direct defiance of the Avengers endgame time travel rules.
She explains that to Fari, recovering the acts was more

(50:00):
to the moment because it prevented a forgotten son of
a Kanda from finding it and challenging for the throne,
which would have led to the king opening Wakanda up
to the outside world, and we're like, yeah, I know
where this is going. So we're basically saying that you
can't bring that back to Wakanda because you know, it

(50:20):
does happen, it leads to this destructive future that ends
basically in the world being annihilated by this alien race
to the Horde. But if you put it back, kill
Monger will steal it and inspire basically through his death
in Black Panther Sorry spoiler word for many years old
movie that you should have seen by now, you know,

(50:42):
realizing that, you know kill Monger and his idea of
that we can't just close ourself out to the outside
where we can control this stuff, but to be isolation
is it has more problems as we saw what happened.
So what did you think about that little twist of
how and kill Monger finding this.

Speaker 4 (51:02):
Is I thought it was a good twist. I thought
everything about this was good. I like how they expanded
on the fact that what Kanda fell because it didn't
trust the outside world, and the outside world failed because
Wa Kanda refused to help the outside world, like had
they not been so stubborn, which is something that again
to 'challa was preaching in the other movies, and it

(51:23):
had become a whole thing of you know, you guys
need to work with us, come into the light, and
we can all work together for the good of the world.
That's exactly what happened. They didn't come into the light.
They refused to help the outside world, so it fail
and then there was no one to help them. When
they had the skills, they had the technology, they were
just surely overpowered by the hoard. So I liked that spot.

(51:46):
And then yeah, when they started talking about the lost
Son of Wakanda and finding it and challenging the king
and opening his eyes, I'm just in there like, oh,
I see where this is going and I love every
bit of this.

Speaker 1 (52:00):
Yeah, so tell me about kind of what you're thinking
of what happens next? And you know what, how does
that warning affect them?

Speaker 2 (52:10):
And does the straint? Does the last panther stick around?

Speaker 4 (52:14):
So she has a moment where she says, hey, I
did this time jump in order to stop you guys
from taking this. It needs to be returned. It needs
to be returned. Couldas like, nope, we got our mission
too far. It is a little bit on the fence.
At this point, he's like and could have saying, I
don't know what magic you did to implant these thoughts

(52:35):
in our minds, but we're going to complete our mission.

Speaker 5 (52:38):
We are war dogs and that's what we're here for.

Speaker 4 (52:40):
Well, her time, her time ends up running out and
she disappears back into her own timeline, and at that point,
too Far as like, yeah, so this is more than
just a little bit of trickery. I think I'm going
to go ahead and return this, and we see the intruder,
this Queen of Wakanda from the futures now back in

(53:02):
her timeline and the Horde is coming, and she's hoping
that they do the right thing in order for their
timelines to then mesh and for her current reality, which
is the future, to not happen. So at this point,
too Far it makes the call, Hey, we're going to
do this. Kuda is in there with him, and they

(53:25):
have kind of a bonding moment as they're running for this.
Could have gets trapped in an explosion, but they're determined, Hey,
we got to get this back. We've got to complete
the mission. You know, You've got to put this back
where it will go. We're not sure that this future
actually exists, but if it's for the best for Wakanda,

(53:48):
we're going to do it. And this is juxtaposed with
visions of the future with the dormalage, with the Queen
fighting against the Horde, and they are just getting absolutely
wrecked by the hoping that this.

Speaker 5 (54:01):
Is going to happen.

Speaker 4 (54:02):
And you even get one moment where the Queen is
standing up to it and saying for what kind and
you're just hoping, like, all right, are are they going
to make it? Is he going to make it? And
I love this moment because again, you're you're tying into
the future, you're tying into what we've seen in previous
iterations of the Black Panther. And he gets this actually returned.

(54:26):
He yells, Kuda's done, the access is back. We did it.
But there's there's no callbacks from Kuda, who is at
this point presumed dead, and they're just hoping that what
he's done and the risk that he's taken actually does
work out.

Speaker 1 (54:42):
Yeah, we get a little like kind of animated version
of how we were introduced to Eric Killmonger in the.

Speaker 2 (54:49):
Museum at that point.

Speaker 1 (54:50):
So you know, I say, this was a very unexpected
and very satisfying conclusion to the Stewort series. You know,
in true what if fashion, which seemed to be an
anthology story was pulled together by a time traveler in
the end, throwing some visually you know, as it keeps
a visually stunning action, and it touched a little bit
of Marvel lore and you've.

Speaker 2 (55:11):
Got a very well finale.

Speaker 1 (55:13):
Plus it's also pretty cool that one of the interesting
I found this out that Disney legend Anika Noni Rose
now gets to call herself a black Panther.

Speaker 5 (55:24):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (55:24):
So Queen Tiana from The Princess and the Frog for
those who don't know, But yes, is she Uh, she's
the one who voiced the Queen and you have that
that ending with Eric Killmonger's standing in the museum, you know,
same way as the opening. Black Panther is just the
way that they tie this together. Just it gave me

(55:46):
such a smile.

Speaker 2 (55:49):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (55:50):
Now, the one thing I'll say, like I was kind
of hinting towards what I was hoping just based on
the previews of this series when we got these sequences,
I was saying, I would love it if we go
if they go out there and put out there, the
intergalactic Wakandan Empire. That's what I was kind of hoping
for in the sense of where this was going. I

(56:12):
was not disappointed by what it was, but I thought, Man,
are they going to let them do that? Are they
going to let them go intergalactic and go the intergalactic
Wakandan Empire? Maybe I'll tell you what Tana Hossey coach.
When you put that together, that was wild.

Speaker 4 (56:29):
I originally thought before they went with the kil Monga
route that yes, they were going to save the future
and then we were going to see this intergalactic this
ruling Wakanda, and we were going to go from there.
I'm I'm not disappointed by them going the kil Monger route. Again,
I he is one of my favorite most relatable Marvel villains,

(56:56):
one of the most well written characters in So I'm
not med them for going back to that route. But
yet it's not where I was expecting. But hey, I'll
take it.

Speaker 2 (57:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (57:07):
So I would say, all in all, the series stood
at a for me an animation. Uh, As an animated series,
I'd say I would say a kind of a seven
point seven.

Speaker 2 (57:23):
Good for what it was.

Speaker 1 (57:25):
It's, you know, kind of disappointing that it's probably the
only thing we do get of it. But I like
the idea when you have a civilization like Wakanda, you
can always kind of revisit this and kind of make
hints towards it. Like if you said animation style, great
voice acting was good, but yeah, I'd put it at
a seven point seven.

Speaker 4 (57:42):
Yeah, I leading up until the end, I was sitting
at around a six point five, and then the ending happened,
and that that did, in my mind, give the overall
how they came back and tied everything together and then
tied it to the overarching Black Panther Lord gave it
a little bit of bun I have it sitting at
about a six point two. Sorry, at a seven point

(58:03):
twenty five right now.

Speaker 1 (58:04):
Okay, so yeah, so we're in the sevens at that point.
But yeah, this was it was refreshing. Is this something
you have to watch? No, I don't say you have
to necessarily watch it, but if you've enjoyed you know
Black Panther, Wakanda, you know Wakanda forever, and you enjoy
learning more about the history of Wakonda. Yeah, these little vignettes,

(58:25):
as David said, like it's it's definitely something if you
start watching, I'm pretty sure you're gonna appreciate it. You know,
it's it's it's it's was done very well. They should
be proud of it at that point. But as I said,
probably unfortunately, we probably are not going to get a
follow up series for this.

Speaker 4 (58:43):
No. With with the slowing down of what Marvel is
looking to do going forward, I doubt that anything further
will be seen.

Speaker 5 (58:53):
But this is a good jury, yep.

Speaker 1 (58:55):
So, But all right, uh, that is our kind of
breakdown of all four episodes of the mini series Eys
of Willkondas. So we're gonna take our next ad break
before we start breaking down all these lovely set photos
of you know, from the set of Spider and Brand
New Days. So listeners use ads help keep the lights

(59:16):
on the Gee Ultimate Lights Network. We don't get to
choose what ads come on, and they could be a
bit loud to give it that three count before they
come on three two one, We'll be right.

Speaker 2 (59:24):
Back and we are back.

Speaker 1 (59:27):
All right, David, You've got all these lovelies pulled up.
So you know, we got hints at the middle of
last week that we were going to be getting a
Spider Man costume reveal, and so we were hearing we
were getting rid of s oart filming. They're gonna be
filming outside. They're gonna want to They're gonna want to show.
So they gave us a little hints with that, and
then I think it was Yeah, it was Saturday morning

(59:50):
we got the first look of Tom Holland live action
released by the studio of him in costume.

Speaker 4 (59:59):
Yes, I will start with the live action reveal. There
is a little bit of talking in there. I haven't
made it just for you know, purposes of not getting
any flags or anything like that, but I.

Speaker 5 (01:00:14):
Mean it's a beautiful opening.

Speaker 4 (01:00:17):
We see kind of doing a little warm up, jumping
down a yeah. Then we see Tom Holland turn around
nice and in costume, and I mean, this is this
is just gorgeous. I mean he's ready, We're ready, and
Spider Man brand new day is coming.

Speaker 2 (01:00:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:00:39):
I just I love that little bit of musical interlude
with it, because there's so much within that little bit
of vignette that I'm thinking, Man, you got a little
bit of hope because it's Spider Man, but it's definitely
there's their sadness in there. There's a little bit of

(01:01:00):
darkness in there. This is what this movie's gonna be.
You know, we don't know how far long in the
timeline this is separated from No Way Home? Is it
really five years? Is it going to be longer? Is
it gonna be shorter than that? You know, it's gonna
be very interesting to see how long this picks up
after No Way Home.

Speaker 4 (01:01:19):
Yeah, and I'm happy with the suit as compared to
this suit that we saw at the end of No
Way Home.

Speaker 5 (01:01:27):
You've got that just yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:01:29):
You it's not as bright as I thought it was
going to be because at the last time we saw
him that that suit had a lot more.

Speaker 5 (01:01:39):
Shine to it.

Speaker 2 (01:01:40):
But then the blue definitely.

Speaker 4 (01:01:42):
Yeah, the blues definitely popped out. But as it stands
right now, just from the set photos that I've seen,
I'm I'm digging the costume, and I'm I'm gonna wait
until I see it more in live action before.

Speaker 5 (01:01:56):
I give it a final yes or no.

Speaker 4 (01:01:59):
I was okay with the original Tom Holland costumes, but
I was never like a raging fan of them. I
thought the spider was a little bit too small, and
it just seemed like they were going for a little
bit too much new edge, So for this it feels
more like a traditional here's your comic book Spider Man yep.

Speaker 1 (01:02:21):
So yeah, so let's look at some of the other
set photos out there that they have, yep. So we've
you know, we get some good looks at the Webshooters
that he's had to create himself.

Speaker 2 (01:02:35):
Very interesting I was putting him on the outside yep.

Speaker 4 (01:02:38):
And I also love the detail on the Spider Man
costume itself, the kind of honeycomb look on the blue
and everything else. When you really look into it, it
looks like there's also some raised in bossness on the
webbing going throughout the red so's it's a good.

Speaker 5 (01:02:58):
Look with that.

Speaker 4 (01:03:00):
Well, then we get another a closer look at the
web Shooters, the more traditional homemade look with that looks
closer to the original web shooter design.

Speaker 1 (01:03:16):
From the the that he was having at that point
based off of his design too. And as you pull
up the kind of another one with the full costume
set up. As we move on from the web Shooters,
I kind of want to look at, you know, the
front costume of you know, the symbol and then the
back At that point, I.

Speaker 2 (01:03:37):
Think there might have been a few images with that
just here.

Speaker 1 (01:03:43):
Because it is very It is definitely not Toby maguire
Spider Man. This is emulating. I think there's a little
winks and nods in the sense of I think it's
more Tony. It's gonna be Toby in the raised kind
of webbing around the costume. But that front symbol and
that back symbol that screams to me, Andrew Garfield is

(01:04:07):
the amazing Spider Man. That that was something very cool. Yeah,
I think I can blow this up while you're doing
is since you're pulling up the show notes.

Speaker 2 (01:04:15):
So I got it right here. Heppe didn't want to
do that, let me.

Speaker 4 (01:04:24):
So.

Speaker 1 (01:04:25):
Yeah, looking at that back, I love that the symbol
like that.

Speaker 5 (01:04:32):
Yeah, that that is.

Speaker 4 (01:04:34):
I mean, it is just an overall beautiful costume. I
like the way that that says. I'm excited to see it,
especially from a down shot like him jumping off a
building and you just seeing the back of that Spider
I'm I'm highly looking forward to that.

Speaker 2 (01:04:53):
Yeah, so it's looking good.

Speaker 1 (01:04:55):
I mean, it's still gonna be the emotive emoting eyes.
From what understanding that they've been doing a lot of
a lot of action sequences out there, so and again
they're not striking these down. These all are still out
there at that point, and you know, it's gonna be
very cool seeing this, and it's impressive that they're jumping

(01:05:15):
ahead because this is the first I think this is
the first Marvel movie for next year right now, poring
to the schedule because it comes this first before Doomsday.
But then we got a nice surprise because we've also
j expositioned a lot of times. During these photos, we
saw a lot of fighting sequences with the Punishers special
presentation coming out. But during all this we got a

(01:05:38):
first full on look at John Burnhal in his new
Punisher costume.

Speaker 4 (01:05:44):
So yeah, and it is absolutely beautiful.

Speaker 1 (01:05:51):
It doesn't go full original stuff, but you know that's
simple people wondering what are we gonna do that? So blow,
we're gonna get it. You're just pulling the show notes
at that point. If it's easier. Here there you go,

(01:06:13):
all right, time for some punishing. Look at that symbol.
Look at that symbol. Let me tell you something. Let
me tell you something.

Speaker 2 (01:06:23):
Red it.

Speaker 4 (01:06:25):
It makes me just completely smile to see this, to
look at this.

Speaker 1 (01:06:31):
And I'll tell you what he's got traumatic jeans, the
saying he's got traumatic jeans if you know, you know,
yeah that.

Speaker 4 (01:06:40):
Look at that arsenal that he's rocking right there, the
symbol painted on.

Speaker 2 (01:06:46):
He's got the beard and he's not retired.

Speaker 4 (01:06:49):
So he he is, he is definitely ready for war.

Speaker 1 (01:06:54):
Yeah, and so I know i'd sent you in a
TikTok video. Looks like they've wrapped production on the special presentation,
so he'd probably be very shortly heading to you know
where they're filming Spider Man Brand New Day because even
though it hasn't been officially well no he no Faggi

(01:07:16):
confirmed it. So Burnhal was officially confirmed to be joining
Spider Man Brand New Days. So he's probably getting ready
to head over there, if not already on his way
to begin filming at that point. So but man, you know,
you know, Brendon and I when we'd originally you know,
talked about not showing the set photos, but this was,
this is these are set photos that will break our

(01:07:38):
like no set photos on the show kind of roll
because it was it's mainly it's not showing. We didn't
show any plot, but we just showed the costume and
things like that. I mean, this is exciting, you know,
just seeing our next chapter of this and how it's
going to play into the lead into Doomsday and Secret Wars,
you know, because Spider Man's on his own now, you know,

(01:07:59):
nobody remembers who Peter Parker is.

Speaker 4 (01:08:02):
Yeah, and I'm excited to see the direction that they
go at this point in the story. While it's just
some odds and in set photos or some odds and
in stuff, I.

Speaker 5 (01:08:14):
Like I said, it's controlled.

Speaker 4 (01:08:16):
They know what they're letting be leaked out versus the
stuff that they are going to be pulling down almost immediately.
You better grab this now because you got about five
minutes before somebody's lawyer is going to be pulling this away.
That they're letting these moments come out to just kind
of you know, tantalize the crowd, give you something.

Speaker 5 (01:08:36):
To hope for and see.

Speaker 4 (01:08:38):
And so I'm excited for where we're going next, and
you having the Punisher involved with this. Looking at that suit,
there's been some other things that have been leaked out there,
you know, some practical.

Speaker 5 (01:08:51):
Swinging effects and things like that.

Speaker 2 (01:08:52):
I'm just excited, Yeah, as we all should be so.

Speaker 1 (01:08:57):
But yeah, so that's all our news for this week.
So so let's head in some listener questions because we
got some listener questions and you know they're gonna lead
us into factor fiction. So we also got some two
factor fiction submissions. So what we got for questions this week?

Speaker 3 (01:09:12):
All right?

Speaker 4 (01:09:13):
First question from Amari Daniels. With Secret Wars on the way, when,
if at all, do you think the Spider Man films
will pick up on the alien symbiot piece left behind
in No Way Home? Or do you think Peter will
get it in Battle World like he did in the comics.

Speaker 1 (01:09:29):
Ah, this is gonna be the big question, and I
don't know how fans are going to react in the
sense of if it does, if it doesn't happen. At
that point, I'm glad we're having a movie before we
even start delving into the idea of if the alien
costume is gonna come about. I don't want Brand New

(01:09:50):
Day to introduce the black costume. We need an entire
movie with Peter on his own, not getting overpowered, overbuffed,
or anything like that. We need to see street level
Peter that we are at. I will be okay. I
think we're going to get it in Secret Wars. I
do not think we're getting it in Doomsday. I still

(01:10:11):
think we're gonna continue with Peter doing it. I think
we're going to get it in Secret Wars because he's
gonna be put in a position where he's gonna get it.

Speaker 2 (01:10:19):
And so.

Speaker 1 (01:10:21):
I to your point, Amari, I don't think we're gonna
get it being the alien symbi it from No Way Home.
But I think he's gonna get the alien symbit. They
may try to shoehorn in like, oh, this is the Aliens,
but like no one else saw it except for the Bartenders, like.

Speaker 2 (01:10:38):
We're the only ones that are gonna know.

Speaker 1 (01:10:41):
So, but I do think Secret Wars is someplace where
they can easily introduce because again, it leads into so
many interesting stories. So what do you think do you
think we're gonna get? Are we gonna get the alien
black costume in Secret Wars or do you think we're
we're going further.

Speaker 4 (01:10:58):
I don't think we're gonna get the symbio costume. I
do think that we will get a black and white
costume and they will just find another way. I think
that they will give us the black and white, but
I don't think that they will go symbiote and the
reason behind that is because I think that there are
too many things to juggle with, too many different hands

(01:11:22):
and pockets and everything like that to go full symbiote
at this unless they have already struck a deal. And
this is going to be a thing, because you can't
just do it for ten minutes of a movie like this.
If you're going symbiot, you've got to dive into this.
So there's in it for that to happen. There's gonna
be some hands in some pockets. So I don't think

(01:11:44):
we'll get symbiote, but I do think we'll get black
and white suit.

Speaker 1 (01:11:48):
You know, we'll just have to We'll just have to see.
So that's interesting, all right. So we're on the opposite
sides of that one. Okay, that's an interesting take, all right.
Uh So, yeah, so we'll headed factor fictions.

Speaker 2 (01:12:00):
So we're gonna hold off. We'll start off.

Speaker 1 (01:12:01):
We'll keep those in the back pocket for those other
two listeners who did factor fictions. So these are the
ones from last week. Thanos or version of him will
appear in Avengers Doomsday fifty eight percent, in fact forty
two percent.

Speaker 2 (01:12:15):
In fiction number.

Speaker 1 (01:12:17):
Two, we will see the Norn rad version of Silver
Surfer before the end of Avengers Secret Wars twenty nine percent.
In fact, seventy one cent said fiction. So people are
against it. That, all right, Tom Holland number three, Tom
Holland will ruin something related to Spider Man Brand New
Day before the Super Bowl AD fifty fifty split.

Speaker 2 (01:12:38):
They are not Wow, they're not sure.

Speaker 5 (01:12:41):
A lot of trust in Tom Holland.

Speaker 1 (01:12:44):
There's something there, there's something there at that point. Yeah,
either some of them are hoping that he's earned his lesson.
Either you think he's learned his lesson, or you'd think
that Marvel has a trained sniper on him at all times.
That's really why John Arenthal is there, to keep him
from snitching on the plot. All right, all right, so

(01:13:08):
all my factor fictions this week are Spider Man Brand
New Day related. So, first one, Mayor Fisk will be
either mentioned or seen via a newspaper article and or
on a TV in Spider and Brand New Day. But

(01:13:29):
this it will not be brand new footage. This will
be repurpose footage from More Than I'll just call it
the repurpose footage from Daredevil Daredevil Born Again.

Speaker 4 (01:13:41):
I am going to go fact on that I think
that they may use his press conference where he mentions
the Spider and we don't get him by name, and
that may be playing in the background somewhere.

Speaker 1 (01:13:52):
Yeah, I think it still plays into that deal. And
even Dinofrio says it as well. You know, it's it's
tied up in certain kind of things that they can
can't do with the character. But this may be a
loophole that they could do and still acknowledge the existence
of Fisk until they kind of hammer out how they
really want to bring in Fisk into the movies.

Speaker 2 (01:14:11):
At that point, I am.

Speaker 1 (01:14:13):
Of the caliber that we will see Vincentinafio on the
big screen as Wilskin Fisk. He will not be just
kept on Disney Plus show. I mean, he's just Kingpin's
just way too big of a character. They can come
to some sort of understanding. I have full confidence in
that they're just waiting for it. But I think to
go an entire movie and not have some.

Speaker 2 (01:14:32):
Sort of acknowledgement of what's going on in New.

Speaker 1 (01:14:34):
York at that point, I think that's that it just
seems this isn't silly, you know.

Speaker 2 (01:14:42):
Yeah, all right, Hulk.

Speaker 1 (01:14:48):
Will remember who Peter is. But Bruce Banner will not
Spider Man Brand New Day. This is a pull directly
from the comics.

Speaker 4 (01:15:01):
I am going to say fact on that, and that
is damn, that's a good one. I yeah, no, I
now want that. I didn't even think of that being
a possibility, but man, do I want to that.

Speaker 2 (01:15:17):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (01:15:17):
And in the comics I can't remember what issue it was,
but yeah, because Peter's very surprised in Spider Man costume
when he's Hulk and Hulk remembers him and he's like, wait, like,
how do you know who I am? And he's like,
Hulk's not you know, Hulk basically is not dumb like
he He wouldn't forget Peter at that point, and it's
Hulk's different. But yeah, Bruce won't remember him. Hulk will, though,

(01:15:41):
So I thought that was interesting. So pull that from
the comics. And my last one, oh little cheekiness here,
the punisher will verbally refer back to Daredevil or Matt
Murdoch in Spider Man Brand New Day.

Speaker 4 (01:16:04):
How linear are we going here? Are we going a
guy in Hell's kitchen? Are we saying Matt Murdock's name?

Speaker 1 (01:16:13):
I'm just saying referring back. I'm just saying something than
is going to make some reference to Matt or Daredevil
or both. Now, I will say that we do know
that Peter, you know from No Way Home. He was
his lawyer, but I would love it more. I don't
want to reference Matt. I want more of a Daredevil
reference than to do Matt.

Speaker 4 (01:16:33):
You know, I I think we will get a Daredevil
reference rather than Matt reference, and I will I can
see it being something along the lines of him being
just as crazy as that other guy in Red from
Hell's Kitchen.

Speaker 1 (01:16:47):
You know, you're you know, I gotta I got a guy.
I'm gonna call him Red. You know I'm gonna call
you Red Junior.

Speaker 4 (01:16:55):
What is it with you want to be heroes in
Red or something like that? You know, I don't have
time for your.

Speaker 1 (01:17:03):
Oh gosh, just dealing with someone not an adult in
Frank's mind, you know. So yeah, but yeah, So we've
got two more from the listeners.

Speaker 2 (01:17:14):
So what are those?

Speaker 4 (01:17:16):
All?

Speaker 1 (01:17:16):
Right?

Speaker 5 (01:17:17):
From bringing Factor fiction?

Speaker 4 (01:17:18):
Scorpion will be the NCU venom in a future Spider
Man movie.

Speaker 1 (01:17:24):
I that is one of my least favorite and like
people who have taken the Spider Man, that's gonna be
the the alien costume Venom costume over. I do not
like that. I really really disliked that run.

Speaker 2 (01:17:46):
Of that. So I the problem.

Speaker 1 (01:17:49):
I'm not saying it's I know, he's saying like it
could happen one day. Yeah, I mean, anything could happen
one day. I just I don't think Scorpion is going
to be a I mean rumor rumors are that based
from the trades that I forget the actor's name, actors
they escaped me, but the he portrayed in the in

(01:18:09):
the credit sequence of A Homecoming as Scorpion at Mattgargan,
so he's re doing his role.

Speaker 2 (01:18:17):
And I I don't know. I'm not sure.

Speaker 1 (01:18:22):
I'm still on the I fifty to fifty whether Scorpion
is going to be a one and done very quickly
in the movie, or it's just going to be or
he's not gonna be the lead villain of the movie
but kind of be like part of some villain crew
at that point and and have a much longer sequence.
So I don't know. I don't want it because I

(01:18:44):
think you can't you don't necessarily have to have Eddie
Brock with Venom. But it's just so synonymous.

Speaker 2 (01:18:51):
With the character to not do Eddie.

Speaker 1 (01:18:54):
Brock as the first as the first venom in the MCU,
just feel like, no, we do need the mc to
kind of do their version. I don't want it, the
hearts not. I'm gonna go with my heart on that one.
I'm gonna say fiction.

Speaker 4 (01:19:11):
I am gonna have to go the same route with
that being fiction. I think that if you're going to
do Venom, there's really only two options. You got Eddie
Brock and you've got Flash and concerning we already have
Flashing the MCU, who does not come off as anyways
credible as Venom, then that just leaves you with Eddie Brock.

(01:19:33):
So I mean, if you're not gonna do Eddie, then
I don't. I think it just creates too too much
if you try and shoehorn in Scorpion at this point.

Speaker 2 (01:19:45):
Yeah. So, and what's our last one for Factor fiction?

Speaker 5 (01:19:50):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (01:19:50):
From Anthony Dorsey Factor Fiction Punisher will say, let me
tell you something in Spider Man Brand New Day.

Speaker 2 (01:19:57):
Oh that's.

Speaker 1 (01:19:59):
Let me tell you something red, let me tell you
some red, or let me tell you let me tell
you something red under Ruse. Uh Yeah, I mean, come on,
it's it's just there. Of course I agree with the anthony.

Speaker 4 (01:20:14):
Yes, fact, yeah, it's happened. It's definitely happening there. There's
there's no way around that.

Speaker 2 (01:20:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:20:25):
So all right, so I'm gonna be put all five
of those out there on Sunday afternoons. Let your voices
be heard on that, and let us conclude.

Speaker 2 (01:20:33):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:20:33):
In this episode of Marvel Alliance with Fantastic four Uh
Life Story, Hey, guess what we're still waiting for Galactus?

Speaker 2 (01:20:43):
Imagine the David we finally have We finally are we
finally gonna meet Galactus. We're finally confronting. This is this
long basic trod trying.

Speaker 1 (01:20:55):
To get to Galactus saying, hey, guess what likes it
is becoming the boy christ Wolf.

Speaker 2 (01:20:58):
Is this finally happening? Did it finally happen?

Speaker 4 (01:21:02):
It took almost fifty years, but this starts off with
four years, three months, and twenty eight days away from
Galactus day he is coming.

Speaker 5 (01:21:15):
So again.

Speaker 4 (01:21:18):
This section of Fantastic for Life Stories takes place in
the two thousands. Every book so far has centered around
the perspective of a character. This time we are getting
Franklin Richards, who you forget with the time jumps that
he is now a grown ass man, Like I forget there.
You swipe to the second page and I'm like, wait

(01:21:40):
a minute, I thought Johnny was dead. Nope, that's right.
Franklin's in his thirties at this point.

Speaker 2 (01:21:47):
So yeah, it was.

Speaker 1 (01:21:48):
It was like we said, every one of them has
had some sort of focal point. And I enjoyed especially
the growth of Franklin as we've seen, especially this is
his more like he's seen a lot and he's his
thinking is is grown, and it's more understanding, more reflective
of the choices that have been made around him from
his family.

Speaker 4 (01:22:10):
Yeah, he also has a different view of his father,
like he sees that, yes, Dad has this singular vision,
but he's also still my dad. He goes back to
their time looking up at the stars and things like that.
Everyone's back together now, Sue's part of the group, and
Reid is still focused on connecting with Galactus. He's trying

(01:22:34):
to connect his mind to him, reach out to him.
And again this is years later, still his singular thoughts.
And while they're in the backs you're building, some alarms
go off and Silver Surface just chilling legs, cross hand
on his head, just hanging out in the backs of
the building, like, Yo, hope you don't mind if I

(01:22:56):
let myself in.

Speaker 2 (01:22:57):
Well, I want to mention beforehand. I like it.

Speaker 1 (01:22:59):
How basically the world has geisty kron into like and
in action. They just don't care because they this lowly
countdown to Galactus day four years, three months, twenty days. Man,
it's just no one wants to do anything and.

Speaker 2 (01:23:14):
Just has resulted in him.

Speaker 1 (01:23:16):
Well, all Silver Surfer took out all our defenses, So
what's the point anywhere?

Speaker 2 (01:23:19):
We're just gonna mope around for four years? Man? What
a terrible world to live.

Speaker 4 (01:23:23):
And I.

Speaker 1 (01:23:25):
You know, I don't know what's worse, you know, right now,
but it kind of made me chuckle a little bit.
But yeah, you're right, I like you said, Silver Serfer
just sitting there, sitting there, chilling and uh he he
kind of gives him his his history, which you know,
doesn't make any kind of alterations at that point, but
however it is he does bring an interesting revelation about

(01:23:48):
how Reid can save this world from Galactus.

Speaker 4 (01:23:53):
Yeah, once again Galactus has requests and the price is
too high this time though, it is uh Reid is
going to become the new herald of Galactus. His mental
connection to Galactus is something that they're seeking out.

Speaker 1 (01:24:11):
And but why is the question? Why is what's happening
to the Silver Surfer?

Speaker 4 (01:24:17):
Yeah, And it talks about how the power Cosmic is
fueled by the concentrated energy of the universe and all
the forces in the universe, and none more concentrated than
the power of consciousness. So Read's singular focus is the
whole reason why Galactus is here. So you would think
that he was Tony Stark the way he's creating his

(01:24:39):
own villains.

Speaker 2 (01:24:40):
Yeah. But also the Silver Surfer admitted that he is dying.

Speaker 1 (01:24:44):
Yeah, which when he said that, I was like, okay,
but it never explained why it it? You know, you're
is it because the power Cosmic is finally overtaking him
and things like that, Like it's never really explained. I mean,
there was a whole you know series outside of this
timeline where the Silver Surfer was you know, corrupted and

(01:25:08):
and virus is taking over and things like that, But
it never is just say, oh, I'm just dying.

Speaker 2 (01:25:13):
It's like how though you're Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:25:16):
Literally, as I said, it's like you have the power cosmic,
You're immortal now you know, it's.

Speaker 5 (01:25:20):
Like, I'm I'm old.

Speaker 4 (01:25:22):
That was a couple of millennia ago when I made
that agreement, and like, yeah, I get that, but here
you still look fit in twenty Yeah you're covered in silver,
but I mean you don't look old by any means,
and you just destroyed all of the world's defenses. Like
you you're You're not really slagging off here, my guy.

Speaker 1 (01:25:40):
And I will say this, I do really like the
Fantastic Woor costumes, the updates they did for this this era.

Speaker 2 (01:25:45):
I do really like them.

Speaker 4 (01:25:47):
Yeah, yeah, I like this same with the black on
it and the embossed Fantastic four logo.

Speaker 1 (01:25:57):
So, uh, you know, we knew, you know, Franklin got married.
I don't think did we really understand like who he married,
Like we saw who he married, but we didn't know
the the relationship at this point.

Speaker 2 (01:26:09):
And apparently he married to Wakandan.

Speaker 4 (01:26:12):
Yes, he not only married to Wakandan, but according to
his children, that is a uncle T'Challa.

Speaker 2 (01:26:21):
So married To'challa's sister.

Speaker 4 (01:26:24):
I'm just like, oh wow, that that that is something.
He's just walking in and out of Wakanda. He's got
these black kids. With blonde hair, and yeah, he is
now part of the Wakandan royal family. He's got dual
citizenship with in New York and the African nation, and.

Speaker 2 (01:26:47):
They call him Colonizer.

Speaker 4 (01:26:48):
Though from the looks of it, though it seems that
in this this movement towards we're all going to end.
The way that they put Wakanda as the Union of
African States makes me wonder if all of Africa came
under the Wakandan ban and was like, look, we're gonna
die anyway, so we want to be with you guys

(01:27:10):
in your technology.

Speaker 2 (01:27:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:27:13):
So, and especially he gives Franklin a way to control
and use his powers that his parents they kind of
put blocks on it at that point because he's an
Omega level mutant. But yeah, I love it, you know,
Doom and Silver Surfer meeting and trying to strike a
deal with that.

Speaker 4 (01:27:36):
Doom offers to become the Herald himself. He will, he
will take on that burden. He will groom the world
and he will have him ready for a galect like
you spare and I will make sure that you get
all the consciousness you want.

Speaker 5 (01:27:52):
I will do what it takes.

Speaker 4 (01:27:53):
We can enslave and have your people right, like, just
let me rule and don't blow anything up.

Speaker 1 (01:28:01):
Yeah, and uh but yeah, when we kind of flash
to Read and Sue reconciling, and you know, they spend
one last time at the Runaway Bar because it's going
to close up because you want the mayor bartender wants
to spend time with his family in those last few months,
and so yeah, so Galac to stay Hits and they're

(01:28:23):
all waiting, and you know, the Silver Surfers says, hey,
it's it's time to make a decision, and Reid says, yep,
I'm gonna do it, and he's gonna make that sacrifice finally,
and Glac says, all right, fine, I'm done with you
and get my.

Speaker 2 (01:28:38):
New hair old bah. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:28:41):
Wait.

Speaker 2 (01:28:42):
I was like like death is your reward.

Speaker 5 (01:28:44):
It's like, oh yeah, okay.

Speaker 2 (01:28:46):
Take it down.

Speaker 1 (01:28:49):
But Reid goes up and he says I'm ready, I'm
ready for you.

Speaker 2 (01:28:53):
But it ends up not being read.

Speaker 1 (01:28:56):
It is Franklin that somehow it gets mad and Franklin
puts out his powers at that point to uh, to
try to take down Galactis at full strength.

Speaker 4 (01:29:08):
Yeah, Franklin's having his show off moment. He's unleashing that
sonic energy and he's going toe to toe and then
the rest of the Fantastic War jump in things out here,
throwing a space punch, guided through by Sue commanding everyone
in her force field bubble so that they can breathe

(01:29:29):
in space. It's it's an interesting fight, and he's Galactus
is like, what the heck is going on here?

Speaker 1 (01:29:37):
Yeah, and so he's channeling using Red too, because they
have a strong connection to each other, him in Galactus,
and he tells, he tells, uh, you know, Reid, he
he can do this, and he's just he tells his
sound go full power, and they're able to take down
you know, Galactis, you know, with also a you know

(01:29:59):
thing helping with the punch, because why not. But the
cost is great because Reid ends up basically going comatos
permanently in a vegetative state as a result, you know,
as they say, like in you know, lat Areas on
the Move, we see the Fantastic Four kind of gather
at Johnny's grave, and you know, we're left at I

(01:30:23):
think the next one's the last issue, if I'm not mistaken. Yeah,
the next one's last issue, and it's we're getting this
confrontation with Doom and you know, like I said, the
phantastic who don't have a lot of Maine villains. You know,
you think Galactus, you think mainly Doom, and Doom's kind
of been in the background this time, but it's been
so much on Galactus and I again, it's cool that

(01:30:43):
they finally confront him.

Speaker 2 (01:30:44):
It's cool they do it, but it's just.

Speaker 1 (01:30:48):
It just felt like, oh about darn time, you know,
it didn't It wasn't really too satisfying. It is anti climactic,
i'd say it best.

Speaker 4 (01:30:57):
And yeah, they have a little run in and some
a psionic exchange and then a punch by thing and
boom we're done. And I'm like, oh cool, we built
all of this up for two pages of a battle.

Speaker 1 (01:31:10):
No, no, no, no, we built this upstance issue one.
We've gone five issues to finally get to this moment,
and it's like, well, that's it.

Speaker 2 (01:31:21):
Yeah, all right now, that.

Speaker 1 (01:31:23):
Seemed to be you know again, But like, the character
development throughout the issues was interesting. I will say this,
the character development through the focus on the characters and
seeing the world through their eyes in the decades has
been interesting, but just it's overarching Glass coming, Glaces is coming,
and then the whole countdown today You're gonna have to
wait ten more years.

Speaker 2 (01:31:41):
Oh for crying out loud.

Speaker 4 (01:31:44):
You know it's it's been a a hustle getting along
with everything that they've been counting down to. And now
we're going into our final arc with the remaining aspects
of the Fantastic Four. Even though one of them's in
a vegetated state, the rest of them are probably in

(01:32:06):
their seventies by this point.

Speaker 5 (01:32:07):
But hey, we are trudging along.

Speaker 1 (01:32:10):
Yeah, but all right, so we will conclude our Comic
book Club looking at Fantastic for Life story next week.
And we have come to the end of a volume

you all for joining us live in the chat. Thank
you all for listening. Stay safe out there, everyone and
us stand the man would say, excelsior, true believers. All right,
David Postcard is discussion tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:35:02):
What do you got?

Speaker 5 (01:35:03):
Okay? So, I'm in.

Speaker 4 (01:35:05):
I'm titled our post for a discussion so many villains,
and my question is will Spider Man Brand New Day
have its own Sinister six? So Daniel Rpka posted that
some of Spider some of the villains in Spider Man
Brand New Day are Tombstone, Tarantula, Boomerang, Scorpion, and Ramrod,

(01:35:28):
who is a have cyborg, and then he goes on
to post again saying there are more villains in Spider
Man Brand New Day that have not been announced yet.
So we have had rumors of Mister Negative, We've had
rumors of some others. So I'm wandering a do you
think we're getting a Sinister six or is this going
to be just a cameo field if you know, you

(01:35:51):
know who's in the background type deal.

Speaker 1 (01:35:55):
If some of these I could, I could be okay
with being part of the Sinister Six at that point.

Speaker 2 (01:36:01):
Some of them, absolutely not. They are cannon fodder.

Speaker 1 (01:36:05):
Unfortunately, based on source of putting out there and sources
that have been talking to me, I no longer confident that. Unfortunately,
I do not think mister Negative will be in Brand
New Day. Unfortunate as it is, doesn't mean it's not
doesn't mean we can't have them, but it sounds like

(01:36:26):
right now, mister negative doesn't seem to be in the
cards for right now for a brand new day Tombstone.
I mean we've sun we've seen some good stuff with
Tombstone in a friendly neighborhood. Scorpion again for outside of
the Venom thing, mac argan Is is a a good villain,

(01:36:48):
but not one that I could see, you know. Tombstone's
more definitely Brains and Braun at that point. Scorpions an enforcer,
you know, Braun not much in Brains Durantula. It's an interesting,
interesting character. Fly By Nights d Lister D List villain
for Spider Man Boomerang f listing. I'm sorry, Boomerang dumb Ramrod,

(01:37:14):
I hear Ramrod, you know who I also think.

Speaker 2 (01:37:16):
I think razor fist.

Speaker 1 (01:37:20):
F Boomerang Tarantla Ramrod, I say those are cannon fodder.

Speaker 2 (01:37:27):
Standardster six has some.

Speaker 1 (01:37:32):
Illustrious nature to it in the sense of who makes
up There's been different incarnations of it, but there's just
somethinging of a doc doc a mysterio craven, you know,
Like I said, I could stomach a scorpion a Tombstone
or something like that. But like if any if that
hole with Ramrod and Boomerang and Tarantula being on a

(01:37:56):
Secret six, it's like, no Secret six needs to have
some real hard hitting things because I just remember even
in Big Time with the Gauntlet and things like that, Like,
there are so many cool ways of that Sinister Six
being in so many different areass There's just that's like one.

Speaker 2 (01:38:12):
Of those great rogue groups.

Speaker 1 (01:38:14):
That you always look forward to when they come because
they're always gonna put Spider Man through the test. I'm
not saying these are, but again, Boomerang, Tarantla, Ramrod, that's
cannon fodder for Spider Man.

Speaker 2 (01:38:23):
That's gonna be a quick one. And you're done.

Speaker 1 (01:38:25):
And I hope when when he webs them up at
that point, Frank pot Shots, I mean, we're done with Boomerang,
We're done with Ranchlat, and we're done with Ramrod at
that point. Sorry, Clay, Boomerang's going down. He's going down hard.

Speaker 5 (01:38:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:38:39):
You know, they're releasing all these names and none of
them get me excited outside of Tombstone and Scorpion. Scorpion,
we already knew about Tombstone. Okay, that's new everyone else.
I have a feeling this is gonna be one of
those montage beat him up scenes. Hey, this is what
Spider Man's been up to, and if you know, you know,

(01:39:01):
stopping Paul's moments of oh hey, that's supposed to be
that guy. Oh hey, that's supposed to be this person
goes dead now yep, And then one of them might
catch a sniper bullet from a guy with a skull
on his chefs, so.

Speaker 1 (01:39:18):
We'll call him Captain Boomerang. Knockoff at that point, discount
Captain Boomerang.

Speaker 4 (01:39:22):
Right, yeah, I mean now, the advantage of Tombstone is
maybe this is a situation where Frank tries to take
somebody out and his shot is unsuccessful, and him and
Spider Man start fighting because he's like, hey, you can't
kill people, but he's not dead, because you know, he's
time for your.

Speaker 2 (01:39:44):
Show.

Speaker 4 (01:39:45):
You know, that's really the only advantage there. But yeah,
I don't see this being a Sinister six. I I
do wonder why are we releasing all these names if
they're not going to be major players.

Speaker 1 (01:39:58):
I think I don't mind them really these names is
because again, it's building the universe, which is banking. My
question how much time has half has gone since No
Way Home. So I'm okay with them pulling out. And
I think the reason they're saying these things and not
and in putting these out there is because they aren't
the real threat. They're They're going to be quick hits,

(01:40:20):
I guess said. I think the only exceptions could be
Tombstone and Scorpion. But even then it's I'm still they
still haven't really gone on the idea of like what
this movie is going to be focused on and about,
you know.

Speaker 4 (01:40:34):
I mean, technically Vulture and Morbius are still out there.
I'm just saying, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:40:38):
Just saying, but I think I think, you know, they.

Speaker 1 (01:40:44):
Deserve a better class of villain, and someone's going to
give it to them. Does not Boomerang or Ramrod or
Terrendius detail maybe Scorpion.

Speaker 2 (01:40:56):
No, So but we will see.

Speaker 1 (01:41:00):
I think a Secret six is gonna happen in the
MC and Spider Man could be brand New Day, could
be at post Secret Wars. We're just gonna have to see.
So where we're gonna talk about what we'll talk about
on the maybe on the next Marvel lines or on
a future Marvel line. So hope you all have a
good weekend. Thanks for staying with us, and we'll talk
to you soon.

Speaker 2 (01:41:18):
